During the morning I made myself eat something, even through the nervousness. A little after before noon Frieza was felt by Piccolo so we made our way to where Frieza was supposed to land.

We were the first ones there and I was in work mode. I actually went a little ways away, my plan being to literally just observe and not interact unless needed. I didn't need to worry about being sensed so simply hiding was enough.

Pretty soon the others were arriving. Piccolo was asked where I was and he told them I had an emergency to take care of. They all milled around waiting for Frieza to land. I watched, using the air as a sort of camera, Frieza's ship sit in the atmosphere, he wasn't moving. Suddenly I saw Frieza and his father on the outside of the ship, a small ball of energy beginning to form. He was gonna go straight to blowing up the earth!

"Fuck," I yelled, flying as fast as I possibly could to Frieza's ship. I didn't really have a lot of time to think of a great plan so I just gathered as much energy as I could possibly handle from the earth. I also made sure to have some oxygen around me since I was going so high.

I made it there in seconds. Flew straight through the ship and released the energy in a controlled blast. There was nothing left of Frieza, King Cold, or their ship. I ducked back into the atmosphere for life-sustaining oxygen.

Manipulating and using that much ki made me really tired so I just gently floated down to the others. As I neared them Piccolo came to me and provided me with some support.

"What happened," called Gohan as I landed.

"Frieza was going to skip straight to blowing up the earth. So I dealt with it. Things aren't over though, well with Frieza things are over, but there's still things that need to happen," I told them, leaning on Piccolo.

"And what's that supposed to mean," snarked Vegeta.

"It means what I said, the day isn't done." I was only sort of paying attention to them, as I was looking out for Trunks to arrive. I could sort of hear Vegeta bitching but I ignored him.

Finally after a handful of minutes I saw him arrive in the time machine. I also gained a lot of my energy back so I stood waiting impatiently for him, he was late according to earth. He put the time machine back into it's capsule and seemed confused.

"I'm gonna go talk to our new visitor, don't follow me," I flew off towards Trunks. I called out to him, "Hello there, I need to speak to you."

He watched me land in front of him, keeping his guard up. "Who are you?"

"I'm the warden of earth, but more importantly I have the same goals as you, Trunks. Keeping the timeline correct and making sure everyone stays alive."

"How do you know my name?"

"Because I'm from a different... reality. That's the closest I can explain it with our current knowledge," I sense that the others were getting too close and they may hear us. I put up a hand as a pause and looked towards where the others were hiding. I then made a go away motion with that hand, blowing the others away with a strong gust of wind.

"There we go. Just like there are things they can't know about you, there are things they can't know about me, at least not yet. Where I come from this entire thing is a story and I'm trying to keep things the way they are."

"So you know why I'm here?"

"Yup, you came from the future, because androids, and Bulma and Vegeta are your parents. Everyone's dead except you and your mom, Gohan trained you then died, and that's how you became super saiyan."

"Wow. Sounds strange said so casually. But wait, isn't Frieza supposed to be here?"

"Yeah about that. There's already been a change. He didn't land, he just began charging an attack to destroy the planet. You're also late in comparison to my reality so I had to take care of him."

"Oh, well how do we fix it?"

"The plan is to do things as closely to the original as possible. We wait for Goku, you talk to him, come back in three years, yada, yada. I only plan on stepping in if I have to. That also means I won't step in when someone else might."

"I guess that's a fine enough plan. Not really any other options."

"Alright now that we're good I'mma call the others."

I called out to them, using the wind to carry my voice without having to yell. They tried to question us but I just told them to save their breaths, the last place they'll get answers is me. Trunks tried to redirect their attentions by bringing out the drink cooler.

Vegeta, on the other hand, apparently woke up on the wrong side of the bed. He just kept trying to bug me into telling him. I finally got fed up with his bitching.

"You know what Vegeta. You ain't gonna get shit for answers from me, or the kid for that matter. But what you're about to get is your ass handed to you if you don't shut the fuck up."

"Do you think you can?" He retorted, arms crossed.

"I know I can. But if you wanna put it to the test? I'd be happy to fight someone other than Piccolo." I began walking a ways away, motioning for Vegeta to follow me.

He hesitated at first, unsure of my motives, but made his way over to me. "At least this might be worth it to waste the time for Kakarot to arrive."

I just stood across from him with my arms crossed, waiting for him to start. He just stared at me, sort of confused, as he stood in a fighting position. I decided to bait him by yawning.

My hand at my mouth suddenly met Vegeta's as I shoved his head to the ground. I pulled my arm back just far enough to give his face a nice punch. I stood up and walked back to Piccolo.

"Damn," I mused, "he really took the bait."

"You didn't really spar with him," Piccolo said, slightly disappointed, "it would have been a good chance for some real training."

"Yeah, but I didn't want to deal with Vegeta longer than I needed to. Besides, I'll take training with you over anything."

His cheeks lightly colored purple, "But I wanted to watch you fight for once."

"Aw, sorry. Would you like me to try again? I promise I'll do something cool."

Vegeta was raging in the background, aghast that I'm ignoring him to be lovey-dovey. Piccolo nodded at me. I assured him I'll give a show. I turned on my heel and made my way back to a furious Vegeta.

"Ready for round 2," I sassily called out.

He growled, "Who said round 1 ended?"

I looked at him dumbfounded, "What the fuck ever man. I'm just here to impress Piccolo."

I raised my hand and made a stirring motion, moving from the wrist. The ground beneath Vegeta seemingly melted, rapidly sinking him into it. When he was about knee deep I clenched my hand and the rock re-solidified.

As he tried to free his legs I spun the air around him in a tornado. I filled my lungs with air and ki, then breathed out fire-y ki. Once the fire tornado fully formed I raised my hands about head height with the palms down.

Thick, dark clouds formed over the tornado and doused the entire thing. The flames ceased and the wind dissipated. Vegeta came back into view, confused and beaten. Water penetrated the ground beneath him and turned it into mud, releasing his legs.

I used the water to fuel the growth of a flourish of plants. One plant was massive, a flower bud lifting Vegeta into the air. At the precipice of its height it bloomed, with Vegeta falling within the petals.

The flower closed quickly and gently glowed. The flower had a calming effect so Vegeta was essentially sedated. I healed Vegeta's wounds through the flower and after about 5 minutes the flower reopened. It shrank in height and when it reached the ground it died off, leaving Vegeta sitting calmly.

"How are you feeling," I asked, he looked at me blankly.

"I feel fine. Let's just wait for Goku," he got up and grabbed a drink from the cooler.

I went back up to Piccolo feeling pretty cool, "How was that?"

He was looking at me with awe, "How long have you been able to do that?"

"Depending on what part. Don't forget that part of working with Earth is training to fight with my specific advantage of being connected so directly to the planet."

"I think it's safe to say you've surpassed me."

"Only if I'm on Earth. I'm nothing in fighting without them."

"You should start incorporating those techniques while we spar."

"Alright, I'll bring in the other stuff I learn from Earth from now on too."

He nodded in agreement. We passed the next few hours just chatting away, until the watch on Trunks' wrist beeped. Trunks announced the imminent arrival of Goku and the others stared at the sky in excitement.

Thankfully Goku did indeed show up on time and he had his normal conversation with Trunks. The only difference was me being the one who killed Frieza. Trunks left in his time machine, which no one questions for some reason.

Goku turned to me, "Thanks for taking care of Frieza. I was going to teleport here but you beat me to it. I didn't think he'd just blow up the earth."

"I bet King Cold, his father, just wanted to be done with it. The only guaranteed win is to ensure the other side can't retaliate," I responded.

"Who are you by the way?"

"Oh my bad, I came from a different reality. I live with Piccolo, and I'm connected to the earth's ki."

"You can do that?!"

"I guess. I did it on accident and now I'm stuck with a job with a surprisingly annoying planet."

"Can a planet be annoying?"

"It speaks so yes."

"That's somehow crazier than the kid from the future. Speaking of..."

Goku explained about the androids arriving in 3 years and everyone agreed that it just meant more training to do. We all left for our separate ways.

Piccolo and I spent the rest of the day meditating back to back. I was excited for another 3 years of relative peace.
