Ulrich362: Yuji managed to take down Alvis, and for the record Yugi also defeated Kaiba... though their victory caught the attention of a very influential man.
bopdog111: Like we said earlier, Yuji won't be that powerful of an opponent.
Ulrich362: True, in fact he won't even be dueling this time... though someone else might make an appearance.
bopdog111: And actually we forgotten something last chapter.
Ulrich362: Oh, what's that?
bopdog111: The differences that this has compared to canon like how the others have.
Ulrich362: Oh yeah, that's right.
bopdog111:
1. As you already noticed before we aren't doing the Pegasus Rules, and use the real rules.
2. Mokuba will be a Duelist, and both Serenity, and Tristan will duel more.
3. Although Duel Monsters is the Ritual Era is it also best known for Fusion Summoning which we are gonna follow suit.
4. Zarc's influence will peak somewhat in some parts due to the Millennium Items.
5. A lot of the characters within this dimension will be stronger in canon.
6. Since I personally enjoy Dungeon Dice Monsters despite never playing it, it will get involved in several points. Duel Monsters is still the star of the show however.
Ulrich362: Exactly, well enjoy the chapter. Oh, and for the curious... yes there will be Fusion Summoning but Ritual will have a higher focus. Fusion Summoning will be heavily used in another story of ours.

"Joey, make a move already!"
It had been sometime since Yugi, and Yuji had both defeated Kaiba, and Alvis respectfully. They went, and told Solomon about what had happened, and he's proud of the two for defeating powerful opponents, and for Yugi completing Exodia. Since then Kaiba haven't looked the same, and wasn't present at school which worries some people but Joey, and the others don't mind.
Right now the group was in class during free time where Joey is in the middle of Tea Gardner who while doesn't usually play games like Yugi, and Yuji is a pretty good player, and defeated him 4 times, and now is there fifth Duel where it seems like Joey's got the upper hand this time.
Joey: 0800
Tea: 0700
"Kay, here ya go, tough guy!" Joey had just summoned a monster called Rock Ogre Grotto. "My rock ogre's gonna rock your block off!" Tea flipped her face-down over which was a Fairy called Happy Lover but it wasn't destroyed as she used a Waboku earlier to not take damage but Joey still gets to see Tea's defense. "Yeah, Tea, like that wimpy card has a chance against my giant rock guy. Give it up!" Joey grinned over seeing that with one more turn he can win this next duel.
"Guess I don't stand a chance, unless maybe I use..." Tea calmly replied taking a card from her hand. "The Breath of Light card."
Breath of Light
Normal Spell Card
Destroy all face-up Rock-Type monsters on the field.
"Huh, can she do that?" Joey asked in confusion.
"Oh yeah." Yugi grinned as he explained it. "The Breath of Light wears down Rock monsters and reduces them to rubble."
"Ehh?" Joey asked nervously as his monster went to the graveyard.
"Now my Happy Lover can attack your life points directly." Tea told him.
"Which as it has 800 attack points you exactly lost your remaining life points which means once again Tea knocked your block off." Yuji takes this over with a soft smile over towards Joey.
"Once again, you lose and I rock." Tea grinned over towards Joey who pouted a bit.
"You stink at this game." Joey groaned from Tristan's snarky comment over towards him.
Later...
It was after school where Yugi, Yuji, and Joey were discussing things outside the school regarding his dueling abilities which he wants to try improving himself.
"Tristan's right, you two. I do stink." With a pout on his face against the railing while Yugi sat on one, and Yuji had his back against it they were discussing it over. "I can't win at Duel Monsters to save my life. What is it, Yugi? Why can't I ever win?"
"You mean otherside the fact you've got terrible luck?"
"Yuji come on, I'm trying." Joey pouted over more towards the blue-haired boy. "Can you guys teach me what I'm doing wrong?"
Yugi gets off the railing deciding to try helping out his friend. "Well let's start by checking your deck, Joey." A pretty simple thing to check first is to see the strength of Joey's Deck for a better angle for how he can improve.
"Huh, kay." Joey answered handing a deck of cards to Yugi as Yuji looked over his shoulder. "Here you go."
"Thanks." Yugi smiled taking the cards and looking through them only for his expression to get more surprised as he looked at Joey's cards.
"So what do you two think, pretty impressive line-up?" Joey asked.
"No-one could win with these." Yugi frowned. "Joey your deck's filled with nothing but monster cards."
"Yugi's right, this deck isn't very good Joey." Yuji admitted.
"Well I packed it up with every butt kicking monster, I can find..."
"But that's not how the game works." Yugi pointed out which Joey blinked over. "Duel Monsters is all about combining your monster cards with your Spell or Trap cards to increase there strength."
"Yeah like for example my Vendreads uses some spells, and traps to get around, and without them there nothing. They even need Ritual Spells so some can be summoned."
"And with none of them in your Deck, your monsters will get creamed every time." Yugi confirmed that over since Decks are made with Spells, Traps, and Monsters in a balance.
"Huh? See!?" Joey takes Yugi's shoulders surprising the two while he went off to tell them. "That's the kind of stuff, I need to know! Yugi, you, and Yuji gotta help me learn more!"
"Uh..." Yugi started uncertainly.
Later at Yugi's Grandpa's game shop...
"My grandpa's the real game expert in the family." Yugi told Joey. "Maybe he can help."
As they walked in they saw a poster of a soldier in yellow and blue armor fighting a pink dragon that looked to be wearing a black mask with a collar and chain around its neck.
"Hey grandpa I brought you a new student."
Hearing that Yugi's grandpa looked over. "Huh, student?"
"I was hoping, since you know more 'bout Duel Monsters than anyone maybe you'd teach me."
"Teach you?" Solomon walked down the ladder looking over at Joey. "Duel Monsters is a very complex game."
"Yeah, tell me about it." Joey agreed with a small shrug, and a grin. "Tea beat me 3 games in a row."
"Actually that was five Joey." Yuji voiced over towards him correctly voicing how many duels Joey lost against Tea.
"5!? Ah man..." Joey pouted over before noticing the poster Solomon was hanging up. "Huh?"
"Hm, yes. I could teach you to be a great tournament duelist." Solomon noted before turning to Joey. "But only if you're willing to spend endless days and sleepless nights filled with rigorous training!"
"Ahhh...piece of cake." Joey winked hearing that.
"With an attitude like that teaching you may not be worth my effort!" Solomon glared at him.
"Huh?" Joey asked nervously as Yugi frowned.
"Nice going there smart mouth." Yugi told him.
"Yugi's right, you need to be more respectful if you want Mr. Muto to teach you Joey." Yuji agreed.
"Please, you two! Convince him, I WILL work hard. I promise!"
"Joey, listen, teaching you Duel Monsters is too big a challenge even for my grandpa." Yugi said over towards him.
"It's not impossible." they all looked over towards Solomon.
"Huh, you mean it, Gramps?"
"Joey, he already said he can't do, and if he can't do it, he can't do it." Yugi stated at Joey to not get his hopes up.
"I never said I couldn't do it." Solomon clarified to the three before leaning close to Joey's face with a very stern expression. "But if I agree, you must work hard."
"I'll do anything!" Joey said over nervously but willing to do whatever work is needed. "I promise. I promise!"
"Hmmm..." Solomon stared over before raising up with his hands on his hips closed eyes. "Fine. Then we'll begin your instruction immediately, my young friend, and believe me," Solomon brought his hands together cracking his knuckles. "Under my tutelage, you WILL learn." He followed true to his words over by his next question. "Now, can you name the most powerful Duel Monster?"
"Ehhh, no."
"Can you name the weakest?"
"No..."
"You do know what a trap card is, don't you?"
"Kinda. Uh, I have no idea..."
Yuji just shook his head with a soft chuckle nostalgia filling his mind. "Boy this is like when Mr. Muto taught you the game isn't it Yugi?"
"Yeah, it sure is." Yugi smiled at that.
A while later...
Yugi, Yuji, Tea, Tristan, and Joey were all at the game shop watching the final match of a tournament.
"Good evening duel fans, and our ten million viewers at home." announced a voice as a crowd watched with cheers. "Welcome to the Duel Monsters Duel Dome. Tonight the Duel Monsters regional championship will be decided. Of the two hundred duelists that competed in this marathon tournament only two competitors remain standing!"
Machines raised up for both characters ahead which one pulled in shocking a blue haired yellow rimmed glasses boy having on a large brown jacket with a red bowtie. "Put your cards together for Weevil Underwood, the Bug Brawler!" Everyone cheered over towards Weevil who smirked at the amount of attention he is receiving. "And his opponent the Warrior Maiden herself, Gale Kurasama!"
The girl in question was a orange haired girl having on a blue/black shirt in a armor themed like design while wearing a part of black shorts with sneakers on.
"Okay bug boy, one chance only to stand down now before I squish you." the girl, Gale, stated over a warning towards Weevil for him to stand down feeling really confident to beat him where he stands.
"Bug boy vs warrior girl?" Joey asked hearing that. "What kind of match is that, that should have been me in there!"
"I know you've been training for weeks, but those two are in another league." Tea told him. "You're just not ready yet."
"Sure rub it in!" Joey frowned crossing his arms.
"On top of that you're so tired you can't keep your eyes open." Yugi pointed out to him.
"Maybe Mr. Muto's lessons have been a bit too tough for him." Yuji suggested.
They had recalled over that on one training session Joey tried to catch some Zs after he spilled his Deck during some shuffling but Solomon armed with a bamboo sword smacked on the table to wake him up asking if he came to train or sleep.
"You see, it's true what they say, you snooze you lose!" Joey gave a dull look towards Tristan for that one.
"Ahh... I must've been nuts to think I could ever learn this crazy game."
"Time for your lesson!" Solomon suddenly appeared in the room from entering holding a package in his arms.
"Wha-we're not done!?" Joey asked in disbelief turning over towards Solomon.
"Not by a longshot you slacker." Solomon confirmed over towards him which Joey groaned about. "Now, quit your whining, Joseph. I know you've been working long and hard, but you are really coming along as a duelist. And I'm quite proud of you."
Having tears in his eyes from Solomon's words Joey stared over feeling emotional. "Gramps... thank you!" He moved trying to hug Solomon.
Only for Solomon to walk to the side causing him to miss and fall over the back of the couch. "Oh by the way Yugi, this package came in the mail for you."
"A package, what is it gramps?" Yugi inquired curiously.
"I don't know, it just came in the mail." Solomon answered handing the package to Yugi.
"Huh, it's from Industrial Illusions." Yugi noted seeing it as Joey jumped back over the couch.
"Industrial Illusions, that's the company that makes the Duel Monsters game. Why the heck would they be sending a package to you Yugi?" Joey inquired curiously.
"Maybe it's cause Yugi beaten Kaiba?" Yuji suggested over. "Kaiba did said before he was the favorite to win the tournament on TV right now but after me, and Yugi's matches he wasn't present.
"Well, I guess so. It wasn't an official match or anything, but Kaiba did drop out of the tournament because of me." Yugi admitted giving that some thought to where the lost kinda gotten to Kaiba pretty hard if he dropped out recalling that he had managed to complete Exodia to destroy all three of Kaiba's Blue-Eyes White Dragons, and win right there.
"Just hearing Kaiba's name, gives me a headache..." Joey groaned placing a hand on his head.
"Whoa guys that chick is squishing Weevil!" Tristan suddenly brought up staring in awe at the match ahead.
"Hey Yugi, Yuji, these two any good?" From not knowing about Duel Monsters he doesn't know Weevil, and Gale.
"Oh yeah, they're both pretty tough customers." Yugi answered. "Weevil specializes in Insect cards and he's a great strategist."
"Then you have Gale, she may not look it but she truly has the same warrior spirit that her warriors the Black Luster Soldiers are capable of." Yuji admitted over to them. "She is pretty unmerciful so if you cross her you better be ready for a bad time."
"Itsy bitsy bugs against big tough warriors?" Joey asked with a smirk. "Sounds like Gale's going to wipe the floor with Weevil."
"I wouldn't be so sure..."
Gale: 1100
Weevil: 1200
Gale started her turn drawing a card turning to Weevil. "Well bug boy, I'd had to admit your holding on better. But against my most trusted comrade it'll be nothing. Cause by banishing Beginning Knight, and Evening Twilight Knight, I can summon my top commander, Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning!"
Two small warriors appeared above her before turning to dark, and light energy forming together into a portal where a large warrior stepped out looking like the same warrior seen on the poster except he seems different.
(Attack Position)
Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning
LIGHT
Level 8
Warrior/Effect
ATK: 3000
DEF: 2500
Cannot be Normal Summoned/Set. Must first be Special Summoned (from your hand) by banishing 1 LIGHT and 1 DARK monster from your GY. Once per turn, you can activate 1 of these effects.
● Target 1 monster on the field; banish it. This card cannot attack the turn this effect is activated.
● If this attacking card destroys an opponent's monster by battle: It can make a second attack in a row.
"Oh, and Gale plays one of her signature cards in her Deck-the eclipse itself, Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning! Looks like this match could be over, right here, right now!" the announcer declared over what he thinks.
"So what'cha got against him?" Gale challenged over towards Weevil.
"Why don't you attack me and find out?" Weevil smirked back.
"And Weevil himself is staring down at the large warrior despite the hard advantage!"
"Ah come on, it's quite obvious that the place be covered in bug guts against a warrior that strong!"
"Maybe but I wouldn't underestimate Weevil." Yugi stated over towards Joey.
Gale stared over before calling over. "Alright if you want me to come over, I'll take your game! Envoy of the Beginning attack!" Her large warrior charges in raising it's sword high to attack whatever Weevil's defended with.
"You declared your attack which means you fell right into my trap." Weevil smirked. "Widespread Ruin destroys any monster that dares to attack me!"
Widespread Ruin
Normal Trap Card
When an opponent's monster declares an attack: Destroy the 1 Attack Position monster your opponent controls with the highest ATK (your choice, if tied).
Earth build around crashing over towards the soldier but Gale doesn't look bothered. "You think I wasn't prepared!?" She flipped a card over. "Counter Trap, Seven Tools of the Bandit!"
Seven Tools of the Bandit
Counter Trap Card
When a Trap Card is activated: Pay 1000 LP; negate the activation, and if you do, destroy it.
"Huh, Counter Trap card?" While Joey had heard of Counter Traps he was never explained what there about.
"A counter trap is just like the name suggests, it's used to counter what your opponent does." Yuji told him. "For example, that Seven Tools of the Bandit card lets her pay 1000 life points to negate and destroy a trap card... in other words Weevil's card doesn't work."
"Ah no!"
"And with it's activation Widespread Ruin turns into a small earthquake!" Gale called to Weevil. (Gale: 0100/Hand: 0) "Which means you got nothing left! Finish this!" Envoy of the Beginning charged in again at Weevil.
"AAAAHHHHHH!" Weevil cried out as the soldier slashed him wiping out his life points.
Weevil: 0000
Gale: 100
Winner Gale.
"A stunning upset by Gale Kurasuma, our newest champion!"
Gale sighed but smiled to the cheering waving over.
"Wow, how do I make that girl my future bride?" Tristan asked gaining a lovey dovey expression as he sees her.
"Hey Tristan come on, she's way out of your league." Joey stated over with a slight grin. "Besides I don't think, she'll appreciate you being a nimrod beginner at Duel Monsters."
"What was that?" Tristan questioned.
"And now a very special honor for our new champion. Here to present the Duel Monsters Championship trophy, the creator of Duel Monsters and the President of Industrial Illusions, ladies and gentlemen and fellow duelists I give you Mr. Maximillion Pegasus!"
A floor hatched opened before what rose up was a man that has white long hair wearing a red suit holding a trophy with both arms having a small smile. He walked over towards Gale, and handed her the trophy to her. "Congratulations."
"It's a special honor to be acknowledged by you Mr. Pegasus sir." Gale takes it bowing over to him.
"And as regional champion, I invite you to compete in a bold new tournament I'm hosting at Duelist Kingdom." Pegasus brought up making Gale blinked surprised.
Later...
At the end of the tournament Pegasus was in a limo driving away from the stadium. "Mr. Pegasus, with the announcement you have made tonight, we'll have thousands of duelists flocking to Duelist Kingdom."
Pegasus shrugged over from this not minding that only caring for some people he hopes to gain. "Yes. An event such as this will hopefully attract those who possess the Millennium Items I seek. Which reminds me-" He turns over to his agent beside him.
"The package was delivered to the boy just as you ordered sir." the man sitting next to him answered calmly.
"Excellent." Pegasus smirked opening his eye.
At the Game Shop...
"Yeah with all the excitement of the championships you forgot to open your package Yugi." Solomon mentioned to him.
"What could it be?" Yugi inquired looking at it.
"It's really big." Yuji noted.
Opening the box they see two gloves with it having a metal brace that houses star shaped holes with two like display cases holding two stars to fit over the gloves, and a VHS tape in it. Alongside is a note addressed to 'Yuji Narukami' while the VHS is labeled as 'To Yugi-Boy after the letter'.
"Huh, a note?" Yuji asked taking it.
"It's a weird pair of gloves?" Tea asked.
"And stars." Joey added looking at the four of them.
"Maybe there's an explanation on the video." Tristan suggested taking it.
"Well, it says after the letter so Yuji should read it first." Tea pointed out. "What does it say?"
Yuji takes the letter curiously opening it reading it outloud.
Dear Yuji-Boy.
It's a great deal to be addressing you this young man, I am Maximillion Pegasus, the President and Founder of Industrial Illusions. You might be wondering about this package here, well the explanation is that this box was originally addressed only to Yugi-Boy however, I had been informed by a source within Kaibacorp, about your match with there state of the art dueling AI, Alvis.
Yes, Kaibadorp's mainframe AI himself, I helped program him personally with Kaiba-Boy following our business agreement to make Duel Monsters come to life, and I even had a hand to create his Deck, the Drytrons. I figure that Alvis-boy would be the perfect Dueling opponent for Kaiba-boy to duel against so imagine my surprise when I was told you've defeated him in a duel. It was surly surprising so much so, that I personally want to see how you managed to best him.
So it is without saying that along with Yugi-boy, I invite you also to Duelist Kingdom.
Signed Maximillion Pegasus.
"You impressed Pegasus?" Tea asked shocked.
Yuji was looking at the letter shocked himself that his victory over Alvis had gotten Pegasus' attention even hearing that Pegasus personally programmed Alvis, and designed his Deck himself. No wonder Alvis was so strong...
"Well, I've always told ya that you'd be great Yuji." Solomon smiled over towards him. "What would she say if she were here?"
That brought a soft smile to Yuji's face to where before he moved to live with the Mutos, Yuji's savior who rescued him that time showed him onto Duel Monsters. He was shy, nervous, and hates being alone but she slowly helped him out of his void where she introduces him to Duel Monsters while making him live by words he'd never forget:
'Let your imagination become your strength'.
"'Let your imagination become your strength'..." Yuji repeated the words out-loud with a smile over while everyone else looked confused from that sentence. Not paying attention to the looks he has, Yuji turned over to Yugi. "Sorry, Yugi what about the tape?"
Yugi looked at it curiously.
"Pop it in and check it out." Joey suggested.
"Ok." Yugi nodded putting the tape in as after some static Pegasus himself appeared on the screen.
"Greetings little Yugi, I am Maximillion Pegasus." Pegasus stated calmly.
"Pegasus?" First the letter, and now the VHS, Joey couldn't help but wonder what else Pegasus has in store for them.
"We just saw him on TV..." Like Joey, Tea's also shocked from this.
Solomon stared at the TV with narrowed eyes pretty suspicious himself. "The famous Maximillion Pegasus sends greetings to my Yugi?" Well why he wouldn't be suspicious?
"I have heard some terribly interesting things about you, Yugi." Pegasus closed his eye with a small grin in the video which made Yugi blinked. "Your impressive defeat of Seto Kaiba intrigued me so much, I'd decided to investigate your amazing dueling skills personally. Right now, right now, we shall hold a special duel. We'll play with a strict time limit of 15 minutes, and when time's up, the player with the highest life points will be the winner. Are you ready?"
This naturally confused everyone with Yuji a lot. "Wait... don't tell me he expects you duel him as a tape? That won't work..." If it was anything like Skype or anything like that it would work but with a tape? Not possible.
"Wait he can't seriously expect you to fight a duel against a video tape." Joey pointed out.
"That's crazy." Tristan agreed.
Pegasus however chuckled at that as a golden eye was revealed under his hair. "No, it's magic!"
Suddenly the image on the screen began to distort as the room turned dark with everything except Yugi taking on a blue tone as they didn't move.
"Everything's going dark and cold, and the others aren't moving." Yugi noticed before turning to the screen. "What have you done to them? Where have you taken us?"
Pegasus merely chuckled over from this. "We are no longer in the world you know, but I will return you after our game."
"Then it's time to duel!" Yugi decided with a ready look. Suddenly sensing something he turned where Yuji glowed a faint green before the blue tone faded away which Yuji blinked looking around,
"What... what is this?" Yuji's shocked voice asked around.
"What?" Pegasus questioned seeing that. 'Impossible, how was he able to break through into the Shadow Realm... just who is this boy?'
"Yuji?" Yugi asked. "Are you alright?"
"Yeah, I'm alright." Yuji nodded over looking over to Yugi. "What's happening though?"
"Pegasus brought us somewhere, and after our match, he will return us."
Yuji nodded from this looking ready. "Well good luck Yugi. Show him your strong!"
Yugi nodded before the Millennium Puzzle around him glowed around. "YU-GI-OH!" Just then swirls of magic appeared around Yugi before it faded revealing what seemed to be a more confident, and mature Yugi that Yuji senses surprised. The mature Yugi merely looked at Pegasus with a grin. "Start the clock, and make your move Pegasus."
Pegasus looked a bit surprised seeing Yuji moving but nodded as a fifteen minute timer appeared. "Certainly, let's begin." Pegasus looked at his hand before setting a card. "Nervous Yugi-boy? You should be, you have never faced a duelist like me before."
"You may be good." Yugi mentioned drawing his card.
"I assure you I am." Pegasus taunted.
"But I will beat you to save my friend." the mature Yugi stated only for Pegasus's eye to glow.
"You won't save anyone with that dragon card." he mentioned calmly.
(A/N (bopdog111): I honestly don't like this episode from how ridiculous the tape is even if magic is involved so I don't care if the Pegasus rules are involved for this one episode only. It'll save us time though.)
(A/N (Ulrich362: It is pretty ridiculous, but then again... Millennium Items are weird.)
"How-?" the mature Yugi asked shocked looking at his card which was Koumori Dragon a strong dragon card.
"Hey, how did you know what that was?" Yuji is also shocked himself.
"I've told you two before, you've never faced anyone like me before." Pegasus repeated over. "I know every move you'll make before you can even make it."
Yuji frowned hearing that. "This isn't good Yugi."
"Knowing every move you'll make gives me a distinct advantage, wouldn't you say?"
"What?"
"For example, I can anticipate your next play," Pegasus revealed his set card. "and counter it with this Dragon Capture Jar." The card glowed bright blinding the two as the Koumori Dragon within Yugi's hand appeared above. "It will draw the Koumori Dragon from your card, and imprison the beast." The monster roared turning to energy being absorbed into the trap card with Pegasus smirking over. "Trapped, never to be played against me."
"Hey that's not fair though!"
"I'm the one that created the game so how else would I know?" Pegasus said back towards Yuji who grunted over from that point.
'This is crazy, first he reads my mind, then he brings the monster on my card to life.' Yugi's original voice said in his head from this happening recalling Kaiba uses virtual reality to bring Duel Monsters to life but Pegasus does it all on his own without technology.
"This dark dimension we're in is known as the 'Shadow Realm'," Pegasus brought up where exactly there at to clear some confusion over how he's able to do these abilities. "a mystical place where incredible monsters can be summoned and the impossible is quite possible." He takes a card looking at it before grinning over.
"I don't like the look of that." Yuji frowned.
"Neither do I." Yugi admitted watching. "Besides what you're telling us can't be true!"
"Tell me Yugi, do you believe there is magic in these cards?" Pegasus inquired.
"Don't you know? You invented this game." While moving a card Yugi pointed out that detail.
"What if I told you, I didn't?" The two boys looked shocked hearing that. "In ancient times, the Egyptians called this the Shadow Games. Powerful Pharaohs would hold mystical duels in other dimensions just as we're doing now, but not with cards. They battled with real monsters and real magic-" Visions of some monsters appeared in there minds while Pegasus explains this. "Magical forces so powerful the Egyptians lost control of them and nearly destroyed the whole world."
"It's a good story, Pegasus, but these monsters can't be real." Yugi pointed out at him.
Pegasus merely placed down a card. "Tell that to my Dragon Piper." At that a small jar like monster with a red eye holding a flute appeared playing his flute. "As his flute of resurrection frees your Koumori Dragon, but puts him under my control." Smoke appeared from Dragon Capture Jar before Koumori Dragon was formed roaring.
Yuji's eyes widened seeing that. "Not good."
"I have to counter attack, Silver Fang!" Yugi called playing the wolf just as Koumori Dragon emerged from the TV destroying it with fire breath.
"Oh! The heat!" Yugi grunted over from Koumori Dragon's fire attack. (Yugi: 1500)
Pegasus laughed over from this. "As you see, Yugi, these monsters are very real, and also quite dangerous." He kept laughing from this while Yugi looks focused. "Ah, Yugi-boy, you really are quite entertaining-the way you scowl, and sneer, so defiant and yet helpless and so completely ignorant of the power of your Millennium Puzzle."
"What?" Yugi blinked surprised that Pegasus knows about it.
"Yugi's puzzle?" Yuji asked. "What do you know about it?"
"5,000 years ago, a powerful Pharaoh locked the magic of the Shadow Games away."
"What's this have to do with me?"
"The Pharaoh captured these vast magical energies in 7 mystical Millennium Items."
"7 Items?" Yugi asked looking at his puzzle before turning to Pegasus. "You're saying that my puzzle's one of them?"
"Yes, and there are locked mystical energies locked within it-" Pegasus confirmed before pointing over. "If you only knew how to unleash it."
"But why are you telling us this?" Yuji questioned over to him.
"Why? Simply because I need Yugi-boy to know." Pegasus answered over to them before he set a card. "But perhaps, I have said too much, and since the clock is still ticking, I propose we resume playing our little duel."
'He's right, time's running out and I still haven't figured out whether he can really read my mind or if it's some kind of trick.' Yugi thought as Pegasus moved his hair revealing a golden eye as the image of a Zombie Warrior appeared in it as it reflected in Yugi's eye. 'I've got to try something, maybe my Zombie Warrior.'
As he took the card Pegasus smirked.
Yugi paused before he can take the card fully. 'Wait! He definitely knows what I'm about to do, but how? It's got to have something to do with that weird eye of his.' He recalled the image of Zombie Warrior from Pegasus' eye from earlier. 'That's it, isn't it? That weird eye must somehow let him see the cards in my hand. So, no matter which card I pick, he's already one step ahead of me, but that gives me an idea.' He gave a soft grin while Yuji looks confused what Yugi's up too.
"Hurry up, now, Yugi-boy. Time is running out for you and your friends." Pegasus urged him with a smirk.
'Pegasus is expecting me to play one of the cards in my hand, but what if I play a card even I haven't seen yet?' Yugi thought placing Zombie Warrior back to his hand, and takes a card from his Deck. 'What happens if I draw a new card straight from the Deck without even looking at it?' He draws a card, and summons it face-down.
"I already know you plan to play the Zombie Warrior." Pegasus stated calmly. "And I'm already prepared to counter it with a trap card that makes even Zombies lie down and play dead."
"Not this time, I figured out your little game Pegasus." Yugi smirked back. "You may be able to see the cards in my hand, but you can't see the cards I pull from the deck."
"Hmm?" Pegasus inquired hearing that.
"My next card is-" Yugi filled the card. "The Dark Magician!"
While Pegasus frowned from Yugi figuring out his trick, and founded a flaw he doesn't look bothered from the appearance of the card summoned. "Oooh, a big, scary Dark Magician."
"Mock me all you like, Pegasus, but my magician will destroy that dragon!"
"Go right ahead, if you think it'll help."
"It'll do more than help, Pegasus." Yugi grinned over towards his opponent. "It'll bring you closer to defeat and bring me closer to saving my friends."
Pegasus stared over before closing his eye with a smirk. "If it can do all that, by all means, play it."
"Dark Magician!" More then ready to take Pegasus' challenge Yugi summoned Dark Magician for real who appeared above Yugi. "Dark Magic Attack!" Dark Magician raised his hand generating inverted color magic towards Koumori Dragon.
Koumori Dragon was surrounded in electricity before shattering as Pegasus dramatically cried out. (Pegasus: 1200)
"Awesome, you got him Yugi." Yuji grinned only for Pegasus to start to laugh.
"Nicely played. But by using your Dark Magician you let me manipulate you once again!" he revealed causing Yugi to grunt. "By playing that one card you have ensured my victory."
"No." Yugi frowned.
"We shall see, Yugi." Drawing a card Pegasus looked over before smirking. "Oh, a very rare card." He reveals the card. "This is the fearsome Faceless Mage."
"I've never seen that card before..." Yugi admitted staring at it. "But my Dark Magician is one of the strongest cards in the game."
"But how will he fare once I combine my Faceless Mage with the equally rare Eye of Illusion?" Pegasus used a Equip Spell card onto the mage as it moved to attack.
"Dark Magician, Dark Magic Attack!" Dark Magician quickly moved to counter attack however this time the Faceless Mage generated an eye shaped like the eye on Pegasus' eye, and the Millennium Puzzle that generated a large smoke cloud. "Dark Magician!" The smoke cloud faded where it revealed that Dark Magician's attack was canceled. 'My attack had no affect at all!'
"What's going on, your Faceless Mage should have been destroyed. Yuji pointed out.
"True, but it's still standing and I'm running out of time." Yugi frowned as they noticed they only had five minutes left.
'I'm only up by 300 life points but only because Pegasus is toying with me. I've got to find a way to beat him at his own Shadow Game. Pegasus knows all kinds of tricks, but I got to find a way to defeat him.' Yugi moved a hand to his Deck. 'I just have to trust in my Grandpa's cards.' He drew over before summing a card. "I attack your combo with the Celtic Guardian! This mighty warrior will cut down your Faceless Mage down to size!"
A green armored elf wielding a sword rose up charging in at Faceless Mage while Pegasus merely smirked. "True, your elf is mighty, but you have once again underestimated the incredible power of my Eye of Illusion! Dark Magic Attack!"
Suddenly Dark Magician looking hypnotized turned over firing a dark magic orb at Celtic Guardian who looked off guard before destroyed from the large attack. (Yugi: 0400) "But that's impossible!"
"Yeah, Faceless Mage can't use Dark Magic Attack." Yuji agreed only for them to gasp seeing a hypnotized Dark Magician had attacked Celtic Guardian.
'Pegasus is controlling Dark Magician with the Eye of Illusion...' Yugi figured out what is going on. 'But if he's using it's magic to control my Dark Magician, what's protecting his mage?'
"Well, Yugi, our time together is nearly up, and as I've more life points than you, it appears I am the victor." Pegasus sets a card, and clapped over.
Yugi and Yuji saw there were only ten seconds left in the duel.
"Time's not up just yet Pegasus." Yugi pointed out. "And you've left your Faceless Mage vulnerable to a physical assault!"
"Hmm." Pegasus grunted hearing that.
"Summoned Skull, attack!" Yugi called out as his monster appeared and charged at the Faceless Mage only for both monsters to vanish just before the attack hit causing Yugi to grunt.
"Mmm, well we've run out of time." Pegasus noted before smiling. "But how close was that, if you had been able to complete that attack I would have lost, but I didn't did I?"
"That's not fair, Yugi called his attack before time ran out... he won that duel!" Yuji argued.
"Well now I've taken the measure of your talents this day, Yugi Muto, and when we next duel, we shall play for far higher stakes." Pegasus smirked. "And Yuji-boy, while I do want to see your skills personally this isn't the time or the place to do so."
"We're done with your games."
Pegasus merely tsked over wagging his finger. "You presume I'm giving you both a choice in the matter, but I'm not..." Pegasus revealed his eye as it glowed surprising the two. "For I, too, possess one of the 7 Millennium Items-the all-powerful Millennium Eye!"
"A Millennium Eye?" the two repeated shocked.
"That's right, boys, and now I'll show you two the true extent of it's magic." Pegasus smirked over before it fired a beam that enveloped Solomon. "You two, I have found that, given the proper incentive, anyone can be made to play my game." A light flashed over before the two looked over seeing the static TV before Solomon's blurring image appeared on.
"Yugi! Yuji!" Solomon static out calling for the two.
Yugi turned back to normal as they both looked stunned staring at the TV while Yugi ran to it. "Grandpa?"
"Mr. Muto what happened?" Yuji asked in shock.
"Yes, we will duel again Yugi Muto, how else will you save your grandfather's soul?" Pegasus taunted before laughing as the room returned to normal and Solomon collapsed.
"Grandpa! Grandpa! GRANDPA!" Yugi cried holding the static filled TV.
Ulrich362: Well, the weirdest duel for a while is over. Though with a horrible result.
bopdog111: And the only time we're using Pegasus Rules you all be sure to remember that.
Ulrich362: Exactly, though next up... a boat ride?
bopdog111: Yeah along with meeting some duelists. Rex Raptor didn't appear in this chapter but rest assured everyone, he is here.
Ulrich62: True, let's just say that his King Rex went extinct in the semi-final match with Weevil, not the finals. See you in the next chapter.
bopdog111: Be sure to review!
