Jo had trouble falling asleep that night. She was tired, but just knowing Ambali was in the same room as her was giving her heart palpitations. The thoughts of someone breaking in and taking her away was also preventing her from relaxing.

She sighed to herself.

She then turned her head to the other bed. Ambali was fast asleep, lying on her side, a blanket covering half of her body.

Jo could hear her soft breaths. She smiled. She actually felt herself relaxing. Her eyes grew heavy.

If you're not here when I wake up…there's gonna be hell to pay.

With that, Jo promptly fell asleep.

Next morning, Jo was the first to wake up. She grunted and slowly opened her eyes. As her vision cleared, the first thing she saw was Ambali. She was still sleeping only, this time, Jo had a much clearer look of her.

She had pulled the covers over the rest of her body and had curled up like a ball. She was even giving a sort of grumpy pout. Jo could her soft breaths again.

She's so freaking cute… Jo found herself staring.

After a minute, Ambali's eyes scrunched. Jo realized she was waking up. She also figured if Ambali caught her staring, that would lead to an awkward conversation.

Thinking quickly, Jo closed her eyes and pretended to be asleep. Though, she did keep her eyes slightly open to see what Ambali was doing.

The black haired girl opened her eyes. She sat up and stretched. To Jo, it seemed like Ambali had forgotten she was in a different house, before quickly remembering where she was. She reached over to her desk and grabbed her phone.

Alright, Jo thought. Now you can wake up.

Jo pretended she was just opening her eyes and brought her hand up to rub them. When she brought them back, Ambali was still on her phone. She sat up, which then caught Ambali's attention.

She smiled. "Morning."

"M…Morning." Jo pretended to yawn. "How…how did you sleep?"

"Pretty good. Thanks." She looked over and saw her clean clothes in a neat pile, near the door. "I'm gonna go get changed. I'm supposed to head out soon."

Jo frowned. Dang it! I don't want her to leave so soon. But…if I insist she stays, she might think I'm just another creep. She watched as Ambali headed towards the door, still wearing her sweatshirt. She's still so cute. She thought. I…

Without thinking, Jo spoke. "D-Do you want to have some breakfast…before you leave?" In her mind, Jo was kicking herself. You idiot! She told you she's dealt with stalkers before and you're basically keeping her in your house. Let her leave and-

"Sure. Thanks."

Jo blinked. She saw Ambali smiling at her. She took a moment to answer. "Oh…um…cool."

The black haired girl finally turned and walked out the room.

Jo sat by herself. She still felt bad for feeling like she was forcing Ambali to stay but, at the same time, couldn't help but smile.

Jane was more than happy to serve an extra guest for breakfast. She soon had a big plate of scrambled eggs and bagels with cream cheese ready to go. Wade took a plate for himself and went to go watch the TV.

Everyone else was enjoying their breakfast, until Ambali checked her phone. "How far is it from the train station?"

"Not long." Jane said. "If Jo walks you there, you should get there in under twenty minutes."

Hearing this, Jo went wide eyed and choked on the apple juice she was drinking. She coughed violently and lurched around in her chair.

"Hey, are you alright?" Ambali asked, concerned. She reached out to her.

Jo saw this and put her hand up, stopping her. Eventually, she was able to calm herself down and breathe properly. She cleared her throat. She cast a glance at her mom, who was smirking. Jo turned back to Ambali and forced a smile. "Yeah, I'm…fine."

The black haired girl was still unsure, but accepted it. She then looked at Jane. "Oh, and thanks for the clean clothes. It would've been gross if I had to go to sleep in something I worked out in."

"Your hair already smells amazing." Jo mumbled, looking down. "I'm sure it would cancel out the sweat smell." She meant to say this as quietly as possibly (or even in her head). But, after not hearing anyone say anything, she looked up to see her mom and Ambali giving curious expressions.

"I'm sorry, did you say something?" Ambali asked.

Jo raised an eyebrow, but then went wide eyed when she realized what she had just said. "I…I-I said…sweat…smells bad. Makes your clothes smell bad. And…if you had to sleep in it, it would smell like…me, after a…wrestling match with a…bear…with bad BO."

An awkward silence followed, before being interrupted by Ambali laughing. Jo was surprised that it had worked, but smirked at seeing the girl liking her joke. Then a thought struck her. Oh crap. She's probably laughing because of how awkward it is. I'm already going on a walk with her, if she doesn't laugh, she'd probably think I'd do something to her. I mean, I am funny, but-

"Can I use the bathroom before I go?" Ambali asked Jane, snapping Jo from her thoughts.

"First door on your right." Jane nodded her head towards a hallway.

Ambali got up and walked out, leaving Jo and her mom alone. Jane smirked. "Nice save."

Jo flushed. "That's…why did you do that?"

"Do what?"

"Volunteer me to take her to the train station."

"Why is that a problem?"

"Because she's gonna think I'm a creep. I already invited her for breakfast, she probably thinks I don't want her to leave my sight."

"Then why didn't you say anything?"

Jo opened her mouth, but didn't know what to say. The thought of letting her go is putting butterflies in my stomach the size of eagles. She wanted to say, but didn't.

Again, Jane must've read her mind. "Kid, you're not doing anything wrong. You clearly care for her and don't want to take advantage of her. Anyone would be lucky to have someone like that in their lives."

Jo still wasn't sure. "If I'm not doing anything wrong, why am I so nervous?"

Jane walked up to her daughter and put a hand on her shoulder. "You like her. Really like her. And you want so badly to tell her, but…maybe you feel she won't return the feelings. Either way, you should tell her. Believe me, not telling her is worse than anything else you could do."

"Is that what you were like with auntie Roxie?"

"Your dad, actually. I was so terrified of telling him how I felt, I nearly blew any shot I had with him. Had I not said anything…you wouldn't be here." She socked Jo lightly on the shoulder.

The jockette couldn't help but smile, but she still felt extremely anxious.

Soon after, Ambali had returned and she and Jo were getting ready to leave.

"Alright, let's go." Ambali said, walking out the door.

Jo followed her but stopped before the exit. She turned.

Her mom stared back at her and gave a simple nod. Jo continued out the door.

Neither girl said much to each other, save Jo giving occasional directions. Truth be told, Jo wanted to say so much, but didn't know what or how.

Ok…you have to tell her. But how do you do that? Do I just say it? What if she doesn't return the feelings? Well…okay, that's always a possibility. A scary one, but one that exists. She thought some more. And…when should I say it? Now? While we're still walking?

She snapped from her trances. "Um…left up here."

Ambali acknowledged her and turned.

Jo continued in her mind. Alright, probably not while we're walking. That'd be super awkward. Hey, we need to make a right up here and by the way, I love you. Super weird. But…She cast a subtle glance at Ambali, who didn't notice. …I really want to. Every since she walked into my gym, I've felt so different, so…Then, Jo realized something.

"Um, hey." She said. Ambali turned. "I just thought of something. How did you find my gym? Like, we don't do a lot of advertising and most of my customers are locals."

"Oh, I just asked around on my Insta and some people recommended your place."

Jo raised an eyebrow. "Really? I mean, I've never seen you around, I didn't think people knew about my gym outside of here."

"I'm an internet stalker, is that what you're saying?" Ambali teased.

Jo panicked and put her hands up. "Wha- nonononono! I'm not saying that at all! I'm-"

Ambali chuckled. "It's fine, Jo. I'm joking." She continued laughing, which caused Jo to calm down (albeit, a bit embarrassed). "Your place looked pretty cool, so I wanted to give it a shot."

Jo scoffed. "You sure it's not because all your stalkers forced you to leave all your other gyms." She meant this as a complete joke, but when she didn't receive a laugh in response, she turned.

Ambali was still walking with her, but looking away. Jo couldn't see her face, but she seemed uncomfortable.

Jo immediately realized her mistake. You. Idiot! Why?! Why did you bring that up?! I know she brought it up a second ago, but that doesn't mean you can mention it either! Apologize! Right now!

But Jo didn't respond. She didn't know what to say. Her hope was to finally admit to Ambali how she felt about her, but, with what just happened, she almost didn't feel like she deserved a girl like Ambali.

The two continued walking with no words exchanged, until they eventually reached the station.

Jo looked at the time table and could see the next train would arrive in about ten minutes. She finally decided to break the silence. "Do…do you have a ticket?"

"I got one on my phone before I left." Ambali answered.

"Ok…that's good."

Silence again.

Jo was going nuts. She wanted to say something more than that. She looked at Ambali again. She still seemed uncomfortable. She thought about what her mom said. This might be my last chance. She took a deep breath and sighed. Alright, first things first.

"Hey, listen, I'm really so-"

"Jo, I need to say something!"

The jockette blinked. "What?"

Ambali turned to face her. "It's time I be honest with you."

Jo was still immensely confused. A million thoughts were running through her head. Honest? What the hell is going on? Wait. Does she have a boyfriend already? Or a girlfriend? Dang it, I still don't know what being pan means. Wait. We're not dating, why would she tell me that? Is she…I don't know, some military spy who came into my gym to…stop an evil tyrant or something? Wait, no. That's ridiculous. I-

"Jo?"

The jockette snapped from her trance and looked at Ambali. She was concerned. Crap. I did it again.

"Look," Ambali sighed. "I…actually live pretty far from here. It's…nearly a two hour train ride actually." She paused, allowing Jo a chance to process what she was saying. "I did know about your place because your mom posted about it on Instagram, but…" She looked uncomfortable again. "...I had to do a little digging to find it."

"Why…why were you digging for it?" Jo asked.

Ambali stared Jo directly in the eye. "You."

The jockette's mouth fell agape. Me?

Ambali continued. "I was hoping to meet you, Jo. I…saw you on Total Drama and…I was rooting for you to win. You're so confident, assertive and…you're really funny. I thought you were the coolest person ever and I would've loved…nothing more than to meet you." She started to blush. "A-And I thought maybe you'd like me if we hung out. That's why I walked into your gym."

Jo…still had no idea how to process this information.

Ambali let out a loud sigh. "I'm…sorry. I-I don't even know why I'm telling you this, it was super obvious. I was such a nervous wreck when I was around you."

Nervous!? Jo's inner thoughts exclaimed. You were nervous that whole time? And you thought I wasn't!?

The black haired girl turned away. "I wanted to be honest with you, Jo. You don't deserve to be lied to. I-I understand if dropping a bombshell on you like that is a lot. And I totally understand if you don't want to see me again. I just…"

Whatever Ambali said after that, Jo wasn't listening. Never see you again? What? Of course I want to see you again. I- And at that moment, Jo made a decision.

She reached over and grabbed Ambali's wrist. She turned and was surprised when Jo pulled her towards her. She was now only inches away from the Jockette's face.

"It's…cool." Jo said. "I…I do want to see you again. And maybe a few other times after that. I-I know a few good restaurants." She smiled as best she could.

Now it Ambali's jaw that fell open. She just stared at Jo for what seemed like a solid hour. Slowly, she found her voice. "Y….y-y-yes? I-I mean…y-yes! Okay! Yes please! I mean, wait, hold on!" She shook her head. "Yes, I would love to…do that with you! Go to a restaurant and eat. I-I mean, what else would you do there?" She chuckled nervously.

Jo was flabbergasted. Is this what she thought she was like when she was talking to me?

Her thoughts were interrupted again when Ambali suddenly jolted forward, wrapping her arms around the Jockette's waist. Jo was caught off guard. But her surprise was quickly replaced with an amazing feeling of bliss from Ambali's hug. She returned it, bending over slightly.

After that, Jo felt her releasing her grip. However, as soon as she did, Ambali grabbed her shoulders and kissed Jo right on the cheek.

The Jockette felt her brain explode.

"Sorry." Ambali said. "I was waiting to do that for a long time."

Not a single thought was running through Jo's head. The whole world around her could've exploded in that moment and she wouldn't have known.

The sudden sound of a horn brought Jo back to reality. She turned to see a train arriving at the station. She looked back at Ambali, smiling brightly like a schoolgirl.

Jo felt…right.

"So…when can I see you again?" She asked.

"Oh right." Ambali reached into her pocket. She pulled out a slip of paper and handed it to the jockette. Jo noticed her face was redder than usual. "Here. I've…kinda had this in my pocket since…I first met you."

Jo opened it up. It was a series of numbers. She immediately know what it was. She smiled. "Alright, I'll call you…or text you when I'm free."

"Awesome." Ambali said.

At that moment, the train had stopped and the doors opened. Ambali walked on, then turned to face Jo. She waved.

The jockette returned it. Then she gasped. "Wait, what brand of shampoo do you use?"

"Oh, I use-" But she was cut off when the door closed.

Jo grunted in disappointment. But seeing Ambali calmed her down. The train started moving not long after that. The two waved at each other. Jo was still waving, until the train rounded a bend and she couldn't see it anymore.

She sighed. Great…I finally ask what shampoo she uses and I don't even get to hear it. Who knows when I'm gonna see her again?

Then she remembered something. She looked at her hand to the slip of paper in it. A big smile crept across Jo's face.

She started laughing…loudly. She continued, even when everyone around her was giving her weird looks.

But Jo didn't care. In fact, she looked towards some of them and grinned. "I scored a hottie!" She bragged.

And that's the end of the story! Hope y'all enjoyed.

I did have some epilogue stuff and a bonus story I wanted to make, but I don't know if I'm actually going to make it.

This is not just a love story, but it's also a coming out story. Not just to the people around you, but yourself as well. I actually relate to this a bit and I only realized it recently. I'm not a lesbian (I can't physically be one), but I am asexual and it took me a long to realize that.

This story was a lot of fun to write and I really hope everyone who reads it can give me there thoughts. I absolutely love hearing feedback.
