If somebody told Chazz Princeton the day before that he'll wind up in some crazy alternate universe, he'd probably believe them. He's been through so much already during his time at Duel Academy, it wouldn't even be the first time he'd be this far from home.
What he didn't expect, however, is exactly what would be waiting for him at the other side.
The first few minutes of him in this universe would be something he'd never forget as long as he lived. Everywhere he looked, there were girls looking back at him. He also heard a lot of yelling as he tried to make his way out the building. He was obviously unwelcome. On account of him being the opposite gender. The weirdest part was that he hadn't seen a single guy yet.
It wasn't very long before campus security managed to detain him. The use of the net was a bit excessive in his opinion, but nobody wanted to listen to what he had to say.
This isn't true for his Ojama cards. They follow him wherever he's taken off to. He'll never say it out loud, but he's glad that they're sticking to him.
Still confined to the net, he found himself looking at a bunch of giant screens mounted on the walls, he knew he was about to speak with the chancellor of this academy.
The chancellor is unlike anybody he's ever seen before. She looks to be in her late 40s to early 50s with light purple hair tied up in a bun. She's also wearing dark rimmed glasses.
"Listen up, lady!" Chazz tries to defend himself. "I don't even know how I got here! I'd never willingly trespass in the ladies dorm! Clearly you've never seen me before!"
At his side, Ojama Yellow is cheering him on. "Yeah! That's right! You tell 'em, boss!"
He sees the Chancellor let out a sigh. (Chazz would later learn that her name is 'Shiraki.') "Under normal circumstances, we'd just be throwing you off this island and be done with it, but something unusual has made itself known… Charlize Princeton is unaccounted for and you seem to not know where the guys on the island are located."
Chazz raises an eyebrow. "Wait wait! Hold on! CHARLIZE… Princeton? Like, we're talking about a female me here!? Right!?"
The Chancellor gave Chazz an irritated look. "Well… Regardless… It doesn't matter what the reason was for you trespassing… You still were in a place where you weren't allowed! But because you seem lost… and we still don't know exactly what's going on… I propose you take on one of our most talented female students in a duel… Win and you walk away free… Lose… and you get shipped off this island!"
Chazz smirks. "Heh… If it's a duel you want, then it's a duel you're gonna get! It doesn't matter who or how many you put in front of me… The Chazz doesn't lose!"
"Chazz? That's your name?" Said the Chancellor. "I don't know what it is, but I have a feeling that Alex is going to enjoy having you around… While you can be… The duel will be before morning classes tomorrow… So you've got about… around thirteen hours to prepare yourself. You'll also be given directions to the boy's dorm."
"Uh… let me guess." Chazz tilts his head. "All the girls here are Obelisk Blue students… So naturally the guys are in Slifer Red? And their dorm is facing the ocean?"
"That's exactly right… Well then… I guess I'll be seeing you again before long."
With the conversation over with, Chazz makes his way to the Slifer Red dorm.
Ojama Yellow speaks to him. "Oh gee, boss… I wonder who you're gonna be facing tomorrow… What happens if the guys on this island don't accept you!?"
"Oh, they're gonna accept me, alright!" Chazz argues back. "This is no different from that time we were in North Academy! We're gonna beat the first guy we see in a duel… then we're going to keep winning until they crown ME the leader… then by the time tomorrow ends… I'll be the best in this academy! You and your brothers are gonna witness every moment of it!"
It was then that a voice called out to Chazz. Taking him off guard. "Hey, if you want my advice, buddy… maybe you should spend more time studying than talking."
"Who said that!?" Chazz looked around and saw nobody near him. "Come on out and face me! I'm ready for you!"
Then, out of nowhere, the stranger came out of hiding and shoved Chazz in the chest; pushing him down to the ground… "Oh, sorry… sometimes I just don't know my own strength… Here, let me help you up."
Chazz was about to consider fighting back when he looked up at his assailant's face. It was getting dark out, but there was no mistaking it… he's seen this guy's face before… Just not on a guy's head. At first, he couldn't say anything, his mouth began to hang wide open. Ojama Yellow had to start speaking out to him. "Wow, boss… Wouldn't you say that guy kinda… looks like…"
"You're… You're ALEX!" Chazz quickly got up and ran his hands through his hair.
Alex, seeing Chazz trying to compose himself, couldn't keep himself from smiling. "Uh, yeah… That's me… Alexander Rhodes… At your service."
Chazz keeps struggling to speak. "You're… You're… You're beautiful."
Alex, still smiling, shook his head. "Nah man… I'm not beautiful… You're just saying that… You really think flattery will get you anywhere… after openly monologuing about how you're gonna… Take over this school… Dethroning ME in the process?"
Chazz took a step forward, now more composed. "Look, man. A Princeton's gotta do what he's gotta do… It's… It's nothing personal, you see? I'm… I'm a strong duelist!"
Alex crosses his arms. "And it's the duty of the strong to push around the weak… Yeah, I've taught myself the same philosophy, buddy… Although it's quite interesting… A MALE Princeton… I mean, I'm sure people like you already exist, but it's hard to believe it, you know?"
"Uh… I have a question to ask." "Shoot."
"How many other guys on this island are there?"
"Besides us? Four." Answered Alex. "Come… Let me show you to them."
As the sun sets, the only six guys on the island are circled around a campfire just outside the Slifer Red dorm. Chazz could feel the stares from the other four guys. He could tell that they're not as trusting as Alex.
One by one, Alex points them out. "Jackson… Manuel… Lester… and Shane… Are you… familiar with any female counterparts of theirs?"
Chazz scratches his head. "Well… yeah… Alexis has two close friends… I think their names are… Jasmine and Mindy… So those two guys there… Are their male counterparts… I don't know anything about their dueling, though."
Letting out a sigh, Jackson stood up. "Oh come on! Alex, are you really going to believe that this guy is from an ALTERNATE reality!? Get real!"
Manuel shook his head. "I believe him… Mindy's a great name… Like Manny."
Alex looks at Manuel. "I know what you're thinking, and the answer's still no!" His voice grew firmer. "You already have a beautiful name… I won't stand by and let you tarnish it."
Chazz looks at Alex. "So you're like… the leader of this group, huh?"
"None of us here would be where we are if it wasn't for Alex." Lester spoke to Chazz.
"We most likely would have been expelled or something." Said Shane.
"Thanks, guys." Said Alex. "You see, Chazz… I look out for them. You mess with them… You also mess with me… That's how things work around here… You can be one of us, too… You know, after this whole punishment duel thing is over. You can be our honorary sixth member!"
Chazz couldn't help but smirk. "Thanks, but… I still don't know very much about you guys… For all I know, I'm the strongest one here. And you all just might need new management!"
Chazz could see Alex's eye begin to twitch as he smirked back at him. "Well then… why don't we just put that theory to the test then…" He looks at Manuel. "Manuel! It's been a while since we've last seen you duel, how about you show us what you've been working on!"
Manuel stood up. "I'm always ready for a challenge!"
"You against Manuel, huh?" Said Lester. "Now this I gotta see."
Chazz looks at Manuel. "I hope you're ready… because you've never faced an opponent like me before!"

Manuel - 4000 LP
As the two duelists prepare their duel disks, Alex stood right in the center with his arms folded. Chazz is about to be dominating or humbled and something tells him that it's going to be the latter.
Plus, the fact that he set his life points at 4,000 and not 8,000 isn't helping him out much at all.
After Chazz drew his starting hand, he grins at Manuel. "Just so you know… the day before yesterday… I upgraded my deck… It's now twice as strong as it ever has been before… So get ready… To be Chazzed!"
"Boooo…" Alex said in a voice just barely audible for Chazz to hear. "You suck."
"Oh boo yourself!" Chazz shouted back. "I'm gonna take my turn now!
I summon Masked Dragon! (ATK: 1400) Next, I'm gonna lay one card face down! Now show me what you got… Manny!"
Manuel smirks. "I'm starting to like you already. A weak opening board AND you're not being formal!"
He then hears Alex let out a long sigh as he looks down at the ground. "Beyond pathetic." He then turns to face him. "MANUEL!" He shouts. "Don't show this guy ANY mercy! You got it!? Win as fast as you can! Show him what it is to be a man!"
"With pleasure…" Manuel draws a card before smiling down at his hand.
Chazz then hears Ojama Yellow speak out to him. "Oh boss… I don't think I like where this is going!"
"Whatever he's got going on, I'm sure I can handle it." Chazz talks back.
"Handle this." Said Manuel. "I summon my Ninja Grandmaster Hanzo! (ATK: 1800) This guy's got a neat special ability: When he's normal summoned, I can fetch one 'Ninjitsu Art' card from my hand… I choose the continuous trap… Ninjitsu Art of Dancing Leaves… Now then… I'll have Hanzo attack your Masked Dragon!"
Manuel's monster leaps high into the air and throws several shruiken at Chazz's dragon: Destroying it.
Chazz - 3600 LP
"I activate Masked Dragon's effect!" Yells Chazz. "When it's destroyed… I can-"
"Yes yes… When it's destroyed, you can special summon a dragon type monster with 1500 or less attack points from your deck. 2005 called, Chazz… They want their monster back."
"What year is this?" Thought Chazz as he searched his deck. "From my deck… I summon my Armed Dragon Level 3 in defense mode!"
He can see Alex shaking his head. "I'll show him."
"Okay… during my second main phase, I'll set two cards face down… Then pass it back to you!"
Chazz draws a card. "One of those cards has got to be his Ninjitsu Art. Ah, his monster won't be around for much longer anyway!"
"I activate the effect of my Armed Dragon Level 3! During my Standby Phase, I can send it to the Graveyard… To special summon Armed Dragon Level 5 from my deck! (ATK: 2400)"
"In response to your summon, I activate my trap card!" Yells Manuel. "My Ninjitsu Art of Dancing Leaves!"
"What's that card do!?" Yells Chazz.
Manuel smirks. "Of course YOU wouldn't know… Ninjitsu Art of Dancing Leaves lets me tribute my Ninja Grandmaster Hanzo… and special summon a Ninja monster to take his place!"
Chazz's mouth started hanging wide open. "You're summoning during MY turn… just like I have."
"I'll tribute my Ninja Grandmaster Hanzo!" Said Manuel. "I special summon from my deck… Jioh, the Gravity Ninja! (DEF: 2900)"
"2900 defense points!?" Said Chazz.
"And it has a special ability!" Manuel smirks. "When it's special summoned, your monster gets flipped face down! And monsters flipped using this effect cannot be flipped back!"
"Damn it all!" Chazz shouted as his monster is flipped face down. He looks down at the cards in his hand. "Just what else am I supposed to do here? It's like he has an answer to every part of my strategy…"
After letting out a sigh, Chazz spoke again. "I end my turn."
Manuel draws a card. "My move! I'll reveal my other set card: Ninjitsu Art of Duplication! Now by sacrificing my Gravity Ninja… I can special summon Ninja monsters from my deck whose levels are equal to or less than the one tributed!"
"Ah!" Chazz took a step back. "That's… so… powerful!"
Manuel continues. "I tribute my Jioh to special summon from my deck: Ninja Grandmaster Hanzo, Mitsu, the Insect Ninja, Tobari, the Sky Ninja… and one mystery Ninja that I'll set facedown. Now Hanzo's effect activates: When it's special summoned, I can add my Kagero, the Cannon Ninja to my hand! Now I'll use Hanzo to attack your face down dragon!"
"I… activate my Shrink card!" Chazz yells out.
Manuel smirks. "Not bad…"
Chazz's monster is flipped face up due to it being attacked by the now weakened Hanzo.
Manuel - 3200 LP
"Good job, Chazz." Said Manuel. "But I'm afraid it's already too late… You'll see exactly what I mean… I end my turn."
"My turn!" Chazz draws a card.
"And DURING your turn, my monster's effect activates!" Said Manuel. "Tobari, the Sky Ninja will allow me to perform a fusion summon!"
"Fusion summon!? During MY turn!?" Shouted Chazz.
"Believe it!" Manuel shouted back. "I fuse my Tobari with my Hanzo to summon… Yaguramaru, the Armor Ninja! (ATK: 2000) When it's summoned, I can banish my Hanzo from my graveyard… to BANISH your dragon!"
"WHAT!" Chazz yells as his monster vanishes from the field. "I'll… set one monster face down… and end my turn."
"It's my turn then." Manuel draws a card. "I summon Kagero, the Cannon Ninja. (ATK: 1600) When it's summoned, I can set my Gravity Ninja straight from my graveyard. Next… I flip summon my other Tobari. Then I will perform a LINK SUMMON!"
"Link summon!?" Chazz raises an eyebrow. "I've never heard of anything like THAT before!"
"You don't have link summoning where you come from?" Said Alex. "Well Manuel is about to teach you!"
Manuel continues. "I send my Tobari and my Kagero to the graveyard to link summon Ninja Grandmaster Saizo! (ATK: 2000) When he's summoned, I can set my trusty field spell straight from my deck! I'll then flip… Hidden Village of Ninjitsu Arts! Then I'll tribute my Yaguramaru and my Mitsu to special summon Meizen the Battle Ninja from my extra deck! (ATK: 2500)
The best part about this guy is… as long as he's out on the field… My Ninja monsters can attack you directly!"
"WHAT!?" Chazz shouted out.
"YOU HEARD ME!" Manuel shouts back. "MEIZEN! SAIZO! END THIS DUEL!"
Both of Manuel's monsters jumped forward to attack Chazz. With them being Ninjas, they made quick work of him.
Chazz - 0 LP
In an instant, Chazz fell to his knees. Unsure of what to do now. If everybody in this version of Duel Academy was this strong, what chance did he have? His goose is just straight up cooked and he knows it.
"Chazz." He hears Alex speak to him. "You must be feeling pretty terrible right now… and I get it. But it doesn't have to be this way."
Chazz doesn't say anything. He just looks up at Alex as he continues speaking.
"You're lost… confused… and although you may never admit it, you're afraid. But again, it doesn't have to be this way. I can help you out with everything you're going through right now… But you have to do whatever I tell you to do. Your only other option is to lose tomorrow and get kicked off this island. And if they're going to appoint who I THINK they'll appoint to beat you, you're gonna need my help. Because I think you have the potential to crush any student here if I'm being honest… You just need to know how… and I can teach you…"
He then walks towards him and offers him a hand up.
"All you have to do is pledge yourself… to me… And I'll do everything I can to make sure you come out on top!"
It's just like the Society of Light all over again. Except this time, there's no supernatural stuff happening. It's all psychological. Chazz knows how cult mentality works, but this is a male Alexis Rhodes. And he's not lying when he's saying that there is a lot he could be taught.
Maybe for now… it's best for him to keep his mouth shut and do what he's told. He must not let pride get in the way when it comes to seeking help.
"Okay Alex." Chazz said as he accepted his hand up. "I'm with you… You tell me what to do… and I'll get it done."
"Glad to hear it." Alex nods at Chazz. "I hope you're not a big fan of sleep… Because we're going to transform you into something you never thought was possible before.
THAT will be how you will start winning in the newly co-ed Duel Academy."
