Adam woke the next morning finding Kim still curled into his side. He was surprised to see her still in bed. She normally woke at 6 to work out but it was already 7 and she was still asleep. He wanted to wake her before heading to work but he also wanted her to sleep. He wasn't sure which way to go. He kissed forehead seeing her smile softly in her sleep. "Darling. It's 7, do you want to get up with me?" He whispered softly. "Not really. I just want to snuggle up with you. This is comfy!" Kim whined. Adam chuckled kissing her lips. "How about a warm shower together?" He felt her nod. "Okay I'm getting up now." He tried to move but she kept her hold on him. "No! Stay a few minutes longer please!" She opened her eyes batting her eye lashes as him. "Fine a few minutes longer but remember I have a longer ride to work now. So I can't stay too long." The couple snuggled up together again.
Kim finally sat up a bit and was stretching her body. Adam sat up and headed to the shower to get it started. When he came back to get her he saw she was much more awake now. "You ready to shower now?" He asked watching her. "Yeah. I'm just loving this time together. And I can work out later so showering together sounds good to me." Kim walked over to kiss him soundly before walking towards the bathroom. "Let's go baby!" He followed closely behind her needing to touch her skin. "What's the plan for today?" He asked as they stepped in. "Well I want to get the reformer set up and see if I like it or not. I want to get the curtains up and start decorating. Go grocery shopping so we can cook here. But I also need to go back to the condo to get some of the toys and the game." Kim winked knowing it would get him going. "Well I can do that. That's easy so don't worry about that one." He kissed her softly helping to wash her.
"Thank you I appreciate that. The deck furniture and dock furniture gets delivered tomorrow so that's exciting." She knew he would be thrilled. "Awesome! Also tomorrow we have plans at night. And no I won't tell you what they are!" He watched her get offended but she laughed too. "Well I'm exciting for whatever it is. Just happy to be off from work so we can do fun things." She smiled thinking about all the fun they had planned for the next two months. "It will be fun and it's something you haven't done before. So I can't wait to see your reaction." He was even more excited about it than he thought he would be. They stepped out to dry off and got ready for the day. "Quick breakfast before you have to go." Kim moved to make him something quick.
"Thank you for this! I truly appreciate everything you have done. I love you so much!" Adam kissed her hard enjoying her lips. "I love you too. So damn much! Now have a good day baby!" Kim watched him leave before heading back into the house. She locked the door before heading to the studio. She turned the music up and started to work on her new reformer. Even with it being cheap it did have good reviews so she had hope. She was surprised how simple it was to put together. Adam arrived at work just in time for his shift seeing he was the last one. "Morning!" Adam heading to the break room to grab a coffee. "How's the new place?" Kevin asked. "God Kim did an amazing job. I can't believe how much she did yesterday plus how it all came together. It's more than I could have imagined. Though I need to get cameras since she didn't answer her phone for several hours yesterday. She was on the dock zoned out on the water. But it is awesome. I can't wait for you all to see it." Adam gushed thinking of their home.
"That's great man! We can't wait to see it." Kevin stars as they walked back to their desks. Adam heard his phone ring and he was slightly since he just left Kim. He noticed a text first he had missed. "Hey Kim are you okay?" He asked urgently. "I'm god but did you see the photo I sent? If not please look at it." She rushed out so he would stop worrying. "Um okay let me put you on speaker while I look at it." He pulled up the screenshot. "Okay so you know I never tell you what to do with your money. But this is an absolute no. No way am I letting she spend 325 on baby shoes. First we aren't having a kid for 4 years. Second while they are adorable baby ballet shoes, that's way too much money. And thirdly no baby needs Christian Louboutin ballet flats. I love you so much but no." He shook his head sighing. "Okay. I get it. But they are so cute!" He knew she was pouting. "No pouting baby girl! It's crazy, over priced ridiculousness that we don't need." He heard her sighing. "Okay. Call me later. Love you." She whined kind of loudly. "Love you too darling. Take care." He hung up laughing at her craziness.
"Okay let's see them!" Erin laughed wanting to see the shoes that just caused friction for the couple. He hands over his phone not caring who saw it. "Okay they are fabulous but you are right. It's crazy expensive and no baby needs them." Erin passed the phone around knowing Adam had his hands full. "Maybe she needs to go back to work!" Al laughed knowing idle hands were the devils playmate. "She would do this no matter what. And I agree it's cute but it's a no." He laughed as he imagined her pouting right now. Adam laughed harder when he received a photo of Kim pouting. "She's too much!" He passed the phone again letting everyone see her pouting face. "Hopefully her birthday party will change that frown." Antonio offered laughing. "Oh please once she's on the dock again she will forgot all about the shoes. I'm not worried. And trust me I know how to make Kim forget about things like that. Pineapple fried rice, baseball on tv and letting her scream her face off." He laughed knowing he could have her forget other ways to.
The team went to work. They didn't have a case but they had paperwork to finish up. So they worked hard in case they got a case. Kim was busy working on the house. While she had pouted about the shoes, she knew he was right. It was absolutely unnecessary but she still loved them. After getting the curtains hung she decided to work out to take her mind off things. She loved working out and used it as a way to escape the outside world. She hadn't even realized how much time had passed. As she finished her work out she showered again. She felt better afterwards and started working on the house again. She felt all li,e it was close to being done on the inside.
Another hour passed and Kim moved to the gardens in the front to start ripping out all the dead plants. She couldn't believe how much needed to be replaced. It was almost a complete redo but it seemed easier than the inside. Once she had removed all the dead plants she sent a photo to Adam showing him what it looked like. "Looks good darling. Though I think we need to replace some stuff to add some color. We can look Sunday." He was thrilled to see she was happy and moved on from the shoes. "Ruzek, Atwater! Med called about a man you guys brought in months ago. He's apparently pretty lucid now. Not sure what you guys can get from him but head on over." Voight announced as he entered the bullpen. "Yeah let's go. Hopefully he's doing better now that he's on meds and getting therapy." Adam was excited for something to do but to also check in with this man.
"This is the public urination guy right?" Kevin asked. "Yeah. He probably won't be able to tell us much since he was so out of it but it's good to check in and see where he stands." Adam was excited to see how the man is doing now. They arrived at med and headed to the psych ward. When they arrived they were led to a room where Dr Charles was waiting for them. "Good Afternoon Officers. Thank you for coming." He stood to shake their hands. "Thank you for calling us. I assume he has information about his case?" Adam asked taking a seat in the room. "Not really sure he remembers but he was adamant on speaking with the officers who brought him here. While he was off his meds and pretty out of it he was thankful for the care you guys gave him in bringing him here. And for treating him with dignity. He knows the stigma around mental illness and knows people.e see him as crazy." Dr Charles explained.
"Well he is a human being. And I knew right away that he was mentally unstable. What is his diagnosis?" Adam asked very curious. "Well he's bi-Polar. And unfortunately was off his meds. They may have been stolen, maybe he couldn't afford them. We don't know for sure. But we got him back on meds and we are working on finding him where he can live and stay medicated. We are also getting him a social worker so they can help him to get a job. It's a process as you know but it's a start. Again he really just wants to talk to you both." Dr Charles was trying hard with his patient and they both were thankful. "Yeah let's meet this man." Kevin was excited for this. It wasn't often they got praise from the public.
They headed back to his room where they saw the man sitting in a chair reading a book. "Daniel these are the officers that brought you here." He paused letting Daniel turn to look at them. "This is Officer Ruzek and this is Officer Atwater." Daniel got up to shake their hands. "Thank you so very much! I would have been dead if you hadn't helped me. I appreciate the respect you both showed me even in my worst state." Daniel was near tears at this point. "Sir we all deserve respect even in our worst times. It was our pleasure to help you and I sure you got the help you truly need." Adam was truly humbled by the man's kind words when he hadn't done much just offered kindness. "We all deserve a second chance in life so really we didn't do much. Just helped you take the first step. Are you set up going forward?" Kevin asked unsure how he was going to handle going forward.
"Um it's a work in progress but I'm committed to taking my meds and taking all the help that is offered. I don't want to end up on the streets again." Daniel admitted and not for the first time. But it was the first time the officers had heard it. "Well we are happy to hear that. Here is my card if you ever need anything please don't hesitate to reach out." The gentleman all shook hands before leaving the facility. The partners were shocked by the experience they just had. "You know, people like that make all the crap we see worth it." Kevin was left stunned as they got in the car. "I know what you mean. I think I want to talk to Kim about getting involved in charity work. I know she has two events this month. Maybe I can get involved somehow." Adam really saw a purpose in helping since he was a kid. But this felt different. "Sounds good man." Kevin replied as they headed back to the district.
As soon as they entered the bullpen Voight was there to find out what information they got. "He didn't know anything. He wanted to thank us for treating him with respect and dignity. He is committed to taking his meds and not ending up on the street again. While not helpful for the case it was still an amazing moment for us." Kevin watched the team turn slightly confused. "The patrol officers left him naked in the holding cell and we got him clothes and got him help instead of just throwing him in jail. It was clear he needed help not jail." Adam shrugged a bit. "That's great guys. Good job looking out and knowing the signs." Voight headed back to his office.
Adam sat at his desk looking into charity organizations in the area. He was trying to find things he could get involved with. He found several food kitchens that were looking for volunteers. That he could he do for sure. He also saw a food bank that was struggling for donations. He decided to email them to see how he could help with that issue. He received an email back rather quickly. It was suggested that a food drive at the district to help raise food and awareness for the organization. He decided to talk to both Voight and Platt for support. He headed to Voight first since he was closer. "Hey boss. Got a minute?" Adam asked before walking in to sit. "Yeah what's up?" He asked curious. "So I'm really wanting to get involved with some charity work. I messaged a food bank that is struggling to feed those in need. They suggested doing a food drive here in the district. Is there anything I need to do to get that support? Or can I just set it up?" He asked not sure how that worked.
"Um well I'm not sure. No one e has ever asked before. But you have my support and I would recommend getting Platt involved since she could probably get other districts to help as well. This is a good idea Adam. I'm proud of you." Voight dismissed him so he headed down to talk to Platt. He gave her the same information hoping for some assistance. "Okay so I think it's a great idea. What we can do is set up a box here in the district in the lobby asking for donations. I can reach out to other districts and the Ivory Tower to help out as well. Where is this coming from?" She was curious why the sudden change. "Um remember the man who was naked in a holding cell?" He watched her nod. "Well he asked to talk to Kev and I. He thanked us for treating him with respect and dignity. Plus Kim is very active in the charity scene so I want to step it up with that." He hoped that was enough of an explanation.
"Proud of you Ruzek. We will work together in this. Get back to work till then." Platt shooed him away watching him laugh at her. He arrived back to the bullpen to see everyone looking at him. "We are starting a donation box downstairs for the local food banks. I want to get more active in charity so this is the first step." He watched them nod. "Well we will all be sure to help out. Count us in for sure!" Jay was excited to help out. "Kim's very active in different charities so I want to step it up. She has mentioned in the past that when she sees donation boxes she always donates. She was even on vacation one year and saw a donation thing and headed right to Walmart to buy things they needed. So also mentioned that she buys the store brand so she can get more for the money. She's just amazing and I want to join in with supporting the community more." He felt really good about it but he was also excited to talk to Kim about it.
The rest of the shift went by quickly. Adam focused on his plan to help out the community. As he headed home to the condo to grab the things Kim asked for before he headed the rest of the way home. He was happy to find her in the kitchen cooking dinner for them. "Hey darling! How was your day?" He watched her turn around bright eyed and smiling wide. "Amazing! I love it here! Thank you for this!" She jumped into his arms. He caught her swinging her around holding her tight. "Well this is all I wanted for you. Seeing you this happy and carefree. And it's beautiful!" He kissed her placing her down still touching her skin. "How was your day?" She asked as she cooked. "Well it's been a really good day. And I'm excited to talk to you about it. I think you are going to be excited about it too." He watched her turn giving him her full attention.
"Okay so first Kev and I went to Chicago Med to see a man that we had taken there the night of the opening Gala. He had been naked and peeing on a building. Anyway we realized he had mental health issues so we took him to med to get help. He wanted to thank us for treating him with respect. I was humbled by that." He stopped needing a second. "Baby that's great. You probably saved his life and you don't even realize it. I'm so damn proud of you." Kim leaned in to kiss him softly. "Thank you but I also talked to a local food bank about having donation boxes at the district. Both Platt and Voight were on board so that's great and Platt is going to spread the word to other districts and the Ivory Tower. I want to do more. Maybe not all the gala events like you but things that still help out. So I'm thinking volunteering at a local soup kitchen too." He looks up seeing her eyes shinning bright with tears.
"That's beautiful baby! I'm even more proud of the man you are! And I will be by your side serving at the soup kitchen and I will donate to the food bank too. I'm so incredibly proud of you!" Kim hugged him tight loving him even more. "Thank you for supporting me. Truthfully you inspire me to want to do better. Even if it's not a huge thing I could always do more to support the community and raise awareness. So that's what I want to do. Together." He smiled knowing she was proud of him. "As soon as dinner is over I'm shopping for the donation. Im excited to this together." She kissed him hard right before serving them dinner. They shared small talk as they ate together. It was fairly light and fun. Adam cleaned up the kitchen after dinner as Kim sat with her phone starting an online order at Target for Adams donation. She loved doing this and loved that he took the initiative to do this on his own.
He joined her on the couch shortly after seeing her adding things to her cart in groups of 6. He wasn't sure why but he figured she had her reasons. But he loved the joy on her face as she shopped for others. "How much are you buying?" He asked unsure what her limit was. "I don't know maybe 200 worth. It will be a lot of stuff since a good chunk of store brand items are just 1. And the canned veggies are under a dollar so we can really get a good variety of options and lots of them to feed a lot of people. I love giving back." Kim smiled as she continued to shop. The final order was close to 75 items and close 200. But they could afford it and this was important to them both. "It will be ready for tomorrow for pick up. I will bring it by once it's ready." She knew he would be happy about that. "Thank you darling!" He kissed the side of her head as he held her close.
"I think our room is finished if you want to see it?" Kim asked after they were quiet for a bit. "Yeah let's go. I also got the things you asked for. Not sure I got the right ones but I got several options for play time." He grabbed the bag before following her. She laughed seeing a duffle full of sexy outfits, toys, their cuffs and feather wand. "All good options baby. Not that we have anything I don't like. If I bought one that I didn't like I got rid of it. So everything was a safe choice." She watched him looking around the room. "I like what you did. We should have a picture of the boys here though. What do you think?" Adam asked seeing her looking back blankly. "I think that would be lovely. Thank you." She moved closer wrapping her arms around his neck kissing him lovingly. "Should we play a bit?" She whispers. "Hell ya!" He was game for anything and since last night had been sweet and loving today was all about playing.
"What are we using tonight?" Kim asked looking over the options. "How about this outfit." He picked up the one he liked. "And this toy since we haven't used it in a long time." He held up the ring watching the excitement flash through her eyes. "Love it. Let me change quickly." She headed to the bathroom to change. Adam striped down and got ready for the night ahead. He gasped as he saw her come out dressed in the outfit he selected for her to wear. "I assume you approve?" She winked standing with her hands on her hips. "You have no idea! But I plan on savoring this outfit and this night. Are you ready?" He asked moving towards her. "Always ready for you." She reached out to grab his body. They became a pile of tangled limbs as they fell onto the bed. He made sure her body was pinned under his.
"Every inch of your body will be loved tonight. Relax and enjoy." Adam whispered as he started to kiss down her neck. He felt her fingers caressing the back of his head as he loved her body. "God baby!" Kim moaned arching her back pressing her chest against his. "Relax. I'm not ready to give you what you want yet." He smiled smugly as he pushed her body back down. He moved to her chest kissing over the lace moving her abdomen. He heard her groan unhappily. He chuckled but didn't give in. He moved to her core this time. Wanting to toy with her a bit longer. They both loved it and it always made things hotter if that was possible. He found her piercing taking it in his mouth sucking on it lightly. He heard her groaning loudly. He loved that sound.
He made one swipe with his tongue before he put the ring on pinning her legs to her chest. He knew it was a good stretch and she was up for anything. "Well that makes sense why you didn't do it before. I would have never thought about that. I honestly had wondered why you hadn't pierced them knowing how much you love your breasts." He kissed the nipple closest to his mouth. "That I do but you heard my business manager I have to behave. And that could cause an issue for me. And once we have kids I don't think that would be a good thing. Breast feeding with a piercing." She watched his eyes light up. "That's twice today darling. I wish it was time for that already." His fingers ghosting over her belly. "I know me too. I think I think about it more here since it's where I plan on spending so much time with them." He watched her smiling wistfully.
"I love this smile but I really want to make you scream again. What do you say?" He looked at her trying to gauge where her mind was at. "Absolutely we should remove the ring first and wash it." She smiled knowing it was important. "Sounds like a plan. Be right back." He moved out of her taking the ring off to wash it before returning to bed. He saw her sitting up smirking at him. "What's on your mind?" He smirked just as wide. "My turn!" She moved to her knees beckoning him closer. He followed orders not wanting to piss her off and risk not getting what he wanted. "Lay back." She ordered. He did as told excited to see where this was going. "Now you denied me what we both know I want during round one. So now you have to make it up to me. Once I feel like you have satisfied me enough I will ride you with my body pressed against yours. Are you up for the challenge?" Kim smirked knowing he couldn't back down.
"Oh I'm not backing down. And I will never leave you wanting for too long. I knew skipping it would rile you up. So let's do this!" He leaned down to move her closer so he could work her into oblivion. His hands holding her ribs cage so she couldn't move away. He started licking her breast mound. The neck morning Kim woke first loving the tight grip Adam had on her body. She removed his arms so she could get up to use the bathroom. She moved back to their room kissing him softly before getting dressed to make him some breakfast. His commute was longer now so she decided she would cook him breakfast. It's the least she could do since he was willing to drive further so she could relax and heal. Just as breakfast was finished she felt his arms wrapped around her. "Good morning my love." He whispered kissing her neck. "Good morning! I hope you are hungry for breakfast." She replied. "Oh Im hungry but more for you than the food." He felt her buck her hips laughing as he groaned. "Well you have a longer commute now so we don't have time to play. So eat up and then to the shower!" Kim playfully pushed him towards the table.
He sat at the table eating the breakfast she made for him without protest. He was thankful that she was working to spend time together even with the longer commute causing less time in the morning together. "This is nice. Relaxing. Eating with a view of the water." He watched her look over. "Next week we can start eating outside. That will be awesome." Kim smiled knowing the deck was going to get plenty of use. "Sounds good to me. I know we will both enjoy that. Might need to get an umbrella for the deck though. Depends on how the sun hits it during the summer months." They hadn't been there enough when the sun was out to see how shaded the deck was. "That's a good point. We will figure it out. For now I'm not too worried about it. I really just want the warmer temps." Kim sighed a little wistfully. "I know. It's coming I promise." He watched her smiling. "Alright shower time baby!" Kim kissed him then started to clean up the dishes. "Okay. Be right back my love." He kissed her back before heading to the shower.
When he returned he found her in her phone sitting at the bar top with a travel mug next to her. "You made me a coffee to go?" He asked surprised. "Yeah thought you could use it today." She turned around to give him a very passionate kiss. "You are making this tough! But I will see you later. I love you, only you!" He held her close not wanting to let go just yet. "I love you too baby, only one." She kissed him again but now he really had to leave. Kim locked the door after he left to work out for the day. She decided to test out her new reformer and see what she thought. She was surprised how well it worked out for her even if it was super basic and inexpensive. She was happy about that. She headed to the shower next needing to get ready for the day.
The shower was longer than normal but she was happy to relax her body. She got dressed quickly and headed out to target to get the donation order. She drove to target knowing that it should be a quick visit since she selected drop off. As she arrived she saw it was busier than normal but that was fine. She had ordered a Starbucks as well so she couldn't wait for that. Across town Adam arrived at the district to see a box with a big sign asking for donations to help feed those in need all around the area. "Platt this looks great! Thank you!" He was so excited to see his idea coming to life. "It was easy hopefully we over flow the box." Platt would ride her patrol officers to get some donations. "Well Kim will be here soon with a ton of stuff. It's almost insane how much she got." He laughed remembering her shopping cart. "Well hopefully she doesn't fill the whole box." Platt joked but knew it was possible. "No not that much but still it's a lot. She was excited to support this." Adam smiled wide. He walked over to look inside the box seeing some items already placed inside.
He headed to the bullpen excited for the day. Excited for this new journey. "Good morning!" Adam stated as he entered with his travel cup and duffle in hand. "Morning!" He heard everyone reply. "How was your talk with Kim last night?" Kevin asked knowing yesterday had been a bit crazy. "It was great. She didn't buy the crazy expensive baby shoes. And she was very excited about the new charity work. And she wants to do it with me. So I'm excited about that. She's stoping by later with a ton of stuff for the donation box downstairs. It was crazy how much she bought but I understood her point. The box had things in it already. I'm so excited." He really was happy that people were willing to support this cause. "Yeah some of that was Erin and I. We couldn't wait to shop and help out." Jay had wanted to go right away to shop. The community really needed it. "Thank you both for helping out! I really appreciate it!" Adam headed out to hug them both.
It wasn't much longer before he got a text from Kim needing help with all the bags. "I'm running out to help Kim. Be right back." Adam headed down the stairs to see her car waiting for him. "Hey! Thanks for the help! It's a lot of bags!" Kim opened her trunk showing him all the bags. "Holy shit! This is crazy! Thank you!" He kissed her before grabbing bags to help her get them inside. It was almost 20 bags but thankfully none were over loaded with items. They each took several bags and made a second trip. The box looked half full when they were done but they were excited for the progress. "Okay I'm headed home. I will see you tonight my love." Kim kissed him softly both laughing as they heard Platt gaging. "Bye darling! Drive safe. Love you!" Adam watched her leave before heading back to work.
As he returned to his desk he realized he really had the perfect life. The day continued with the usual cases but all Adam could care about was his life waiting for him at home. He was extremely excited for Kim's birthday party and journey ahead. Truly loving his life and loving his wife. He couldn't wait to see where they went from here.
