Kagome ran toward Inuyasha. "Inuyasha! Look out!" She screamed, jumping toward him. Inuyasha turned and looked at Kagome just in time for Naraku's tentacle morphed into a sharp blade.

Blood spattered the ground. Everyone looked in horror as the blade entered Kagome's side, just under her ribs. She choked out in pain. Naraku took the blade from her side, blood falling in slow motion on the ground.

Kagome dropped to her knees and she fell on the ground on her chest. Inuyasha gasped as he looked at the ground turned red. "Kagome!" he screamed as he went toward her. Naraku slapped a tentacle to the ground, cutting him off from her.

"No, dammit. Let me get to her!" He screamed in anger at Naraku. Naraku laughed. Inuyasha's head snapped to Naraku. "Damn, you! You're gonna pay for that! Adamant Barrage!" Spears flew from Inuyasha's sword and pierced Naraku.

He continued to laugh. Inuyasha looked back over to Kagome. Shippo was shaking her. "Kagome, you have to wake up! You gotta move, Kagome." said Shippo as he continued to shake her in vain.

Naraku wrapped a tentacle around Inuyasha. He looked back at Naraku. "You're getting distracted Inuyasha. You need to focus on me. Not your pathetic miko." he sneered. Inuyasha struggled to get free.

A purple light hit Naraku. Inuyasha landed on his feet. He looked over. There was Kagome being supported by Sango. Her eyes were glazed over, lifeless. Inuyasha gasped as she fell back against Sango.

Inuyasha stood there in shock. He turned and he looked at Naraku. He was gasping for breath, most of his body destroyed. Inuyasha looked from Naraku back to Kagome. He took a step toward Kagome.

"You're just going to walk away? You can finish me in just one swoop. You can all get revenge for all the wrong I've done to you." he sneered. Inuyasha stopped and looked at Naraku. Sango threw hiraikotsu at him. Kanna blocked it.

They started to fly away in a barrier. Naraku chuckled darkly. "Tell me Inuyasha, how does it feel that once again fail at keeping the woman you love safe?" He laughed as he disappeared. Inuyasha rushed over to Kagome.

Sango's hands are on her wound. There was blood seeping through her fingers. "We need to get her help. Maybe we can get her back to her time?" asked Sango. Inuyasha dropped to his knees and he took the tie from his haori and he tied her wound off.

We gotta get her back to the village, now!" he cried. He picked her up bridal style and he began to run. "Do you want to take her to the well?" asked Sango. Inuyasha shook his head. "No, she won't make it to her time. We just have to hope that Kaede can save her." he said as they continued to race back to the village.

"Kagome, you don't get to leave me. Not today. You just have to hold on." he said as he continued to run. Inuyasha could feel his haori becoming wet from her blood. She was also getting colder with every passing moment.

Inuyasha rushed into Kaede's hut. He laid Kagome down. "Please, help her!" he begged. Kaede nodded. "Wait outside." Inuyasha nodded. He stood there for a moment. "Inuyasha, take a seat outside. I will do my best."

Inuyasha felt a hand on his shoulder. It was Miroku. "Come on, let's go wait." Inuyasha nodded. They all sat outside the hut. Inuyasha felt nauseous all he smelled was Kagome's blood. It was all over his haori and all over his hands.

"What are we going to do if Kaede can't save her? OWW!" Shippo yelled as he glared at Inuyasha. He looked at the defeated look on Inuyasha's face. Shippo sighed and continued to look at the ground.

Inuyasha walked away from the group, his bangs covering his eyes. He left without a word. "We're all worried about Kagome. Not just him." pouted Shippo. "Shippo now is not the time to talk about the possibility of Kagome not making it. That's not what Inuyasha needs or wants to hear."

Kaede came out and she walked to them. "I was able to get the bleeding under control. But she has lost a lot. She soaked through bandage after bandage. When she is more stable I think that she should return to her time and get proper medical attention."

"Is she awake?" asked Sango. Kaede nodded. "She's in and out of consciousness. It will be like that for a bit. Like I said she did lose a lot of blood. She will definitely need bed rest for a few weeks.

Sango nodded. "Im going to go and get Inuyasha." Miroku put his hand on her shoulder. "I'll go." They nodded. Miroku looked all over the village for Inuyasha. Then he thought about it. He knew where he was.

He walked over to the sacred tree. "Inuyasha. Kagome's bleeding is under control for the time being." Inuyasha nodded. "Okay." Miroku sighed. "I'm sure that she would want you there when she wakes up."

Inuyasha scoffed and jumped out of the tree. He was soaking wet. He was trying to get her blood out of his haori. "You said that she's alive?" Miroku nodded. "She's alive. But she's not a hundred percent. Kaede wants you to take her to her time."

Inuyasha nodded and walked past him, his bangs covering his eyes as he passed. He walked to the hut and he walked in. They all looked at him. Kaede stood up. "I'm going to grab some more herbs for Kagome." She said, walking out of the hut.

"Shippo, Miroku, and I are going to go get some supplies for our next journey." said Sango. They all left the hut. Inuyasha walked over to Kagome and he sat next to her. Kagome had a pained expression on her face.

Inuyasha caressed her cheek. "I am so sorry Kagome. I should have been paying attention. I am so sorry." he said looking at her. "I'm not." She said weakly, not opening her eyes. Inuyasha looked at her.

He looked around and he kissed her forehead. "Just rest." he whispered. He sat next to her, looking down and reaching under the blanket, taking her cold hand in his.

IN KAGOME'S HEAD

Kagome walked in darkness. "Hello? Inuyasha? Anyone?" she called. Evil laughter echoed through the darkness. Kagome turned and she looked up. There was Naraku. "What the hell are you doing here?" she spit out.

Naraku chuckled. "Listen well, Kagome. You'll die unless you do what I want you to do." Kagome scoffed. "Like I would help you." Naraku laughed. "You will if you want to be with Inuyasha."

Kagome looked at him. "You still haven't answered my question. What the hell are you doing here? How are you here." Naraku laughed. "Kanna. She has other uses. Not just the mirror.

"So listen carefully. If you don't do what I tell you to do I won't take the miasma away from your body." Kagome turned away from him, crossing her arms. "I will never help you. I don't care how much you threaten me."

Naraku laughed. "Kagome, either you help me find the remaining shards of the jewel or I will let the miasma eat away at your body. Remember Magasuhi sealed away your sacred powers. You can't keep the poison at bay. You won't stand a chance."

"You might be able to fight it for a short time but it will eventually take over your body and kill you. But if you find the shards for me, then you can have your body miasma free. I will help you avoid an agonizing death that will befall you. Your choice."

Kagome's head snapped back to glare at Naraku. "Never. I will never betray Inuyasha like that! I would rather die than help you!"

His laughter echoed through the void. "You will die for those pathetic friends of yours? Are you ready for that?" he asked.

"You want me to say that I regret what I did? Well, I don't. I would do it again and again if I had to. I love Inuyasha more than I fear you." Naraku sneered at her. "I will never say that I regret what I did. My life isn't more important than anyone's. My friends and Inuyasha deserve happiness."

"They deserve to be free from you and if my death can help with that, then by all means it's worth it."

"Then you have sealed your fate, Kagome. Remember Kikyo's arrows cant save you again." He disappeared.
