"Are you sure that you're fully healed?" asked Sango as Kagome stood up. "Yeah, I have no more wounds. Not serious ones anyway. My side reopened. So I think I should go back to my time and get it looked at." They all nodded.
Kagome looked over at Inuyasha. "But no more miasma?" he asked. Kagome shook her head. "Nope. It's completely gone." Inuyasha nodded. They looked away from each other. There was an awkwardness in the air.
Kagome had died. And Inuyasha had told her that he loved her. He had cried for her. And Kagome wasn't sure how to talk to Inuyasha about it. "Maybe we should return to Kaede's." Kagome nodded. She gasped.
They all looked at her. "You have the jewel." Inuyasha nodded. "Miroku is holding on to it for the time being." said Inuyasha. Kagome nodded. "Do you want to try and purify it?" asked Miroku. Kagome shrugged.
"I don't know if I can. I don't know if I have my powers back." she picked it up from Miroku's hand and she tried to purify it. No change. Kagome sighed. "It's still sealed." They all looked at each other.
"Then we keep a hold of it for a bit until we find out about your powers." said Miroku. Kagome nodded. She reached into her backpack and grabbed the old chain she used to use to wear the shards of the jewels. "There at least we can keep an eye on it." said Kagome.
They all nodded. Sango walked over to Kagome. "Let's go home." said Sango. Kagome nodded. Miroku, Sango, and Shippo all jumped on Kirara's back and flew off.
Kagome turned to look at Inuyasha. "Are you ready to go back?" he asked. Kagome nodded. She jumped onto his back and they ran through the trees. They made it to the forest that held the tree and the well.
Kagome jumped from his back and they walked through the woods. "Kagome?" She turned and looked at Inuyasha. "Did you want to return to your time for a bit? Get caught up with school?" she looked at him and shrugged.
"I don't know. This has been my life for almost a year. I don't know what my life will be now." she said as they made their way to the well. She turned and looked at Inuyasha. "Do you want me to go back?" Inuyasha shook his head.
"No, but I know that going to school is important to you. And now that Naraku is defeated then you can do that." Kagome nodded. "Do you still want me to visit you?" she asked. Inuyasha blushed. "Of course I want you to."
Kagome blushed as she looked at him. "I'll miss you when I'm over there." said Kagome with a sad smile. Inuyasha smiled. "I can visit you whenever you want me to." said Inuyasha. Kagome smiled. "I would like that."
She sat on the side of the well. She gasped as she pulsated as did the jewel. She looked over at Inuyasha. "Inuyasha?" she asked. A meido opened below her and Naraku came through the meido and grabbed her.
"No!" yelled Inuyasha. Naraku pulled Kagome through the meido. "Inuyasha!" she screamed. Inuyasha reached for her but the meido closed in front of him. "No! Kagome!" he yelled. Sango and Miroku came running.
"Inuyasha, what happened?" asked Miroku. "A meido appeared and Naraku appeared and dragged Kagome into it. And the meido disappeared!" yelled Inuyasha. "Where's the well?" asked Sango.
They all looked at the well was gone. "What the hell is happening!? Where did the meido take Kagome!? How is Naraku alive!? Where is Kagome!?" he screamed. "I have to go after her."
Miroku put his hand on his shoulder. "Inuyasha, there is no guarantee that you can find her in the meido. You could be killed." said Miroku. Inuyasha turned and looked at him. "She's worth it, Miroku. I can't lose her again. I won't."
He turned. "Meido zangetsuha!" he screamed, jumping into the meido. Shippo ran up. "Bring her back to us, Inuyasha." He nodded. The meido shut.
'I won't leave Kagome ever again! No one will ever take her away from me again! Wait for me Kagome!'
…..
Kagome was woken up by her alarm clock. She opened her eyes and looked around her room. It was a sunny day. There was a knock on the door. Her mom walked in. "Breakfast is ready." she said with a smile. Kagome nodded.
She got dressed in her high school uniform and she headed downstairs for breakfast. She sat at the breakfast table with her brother and grandfather. "Kagome, are you okay?" asked Sota. Kagome looked at her brother and nodded.
"I'm just having trouble remembering getting into high school." They all looked at her in confusion. "You graduated with flying colors and made it to your high school of choice!" said Sota.
Kagome sighed and nodded. She walked to school and she went to class. "We have to go shopping for some uniforms for gym." said Eri. "Oh yeah, let's do that! Then we can go grab lunch!" said Ayumi.
Kagome stayed quiet. Hojo walked over to her. "Are we still on for this weekend?" he asked. She looked at him. "You asked me out?" she asked. He nodded. "Do you not remember?" she looked down. "No. But this weekend sounds fine." she said with a fake smile. She joined her friends on the walk home.
'Why do I feel like this life is a lie? I feel like there's another life that I belong to. This isn't my life is it? Just high school and my friends? Hojo? And why can't I remember getting into high school? Why is it whenever I am around Hojo, I feel like I'm with the wrong person?'
Kagome walked up the stairs to her house. She looked over to the shed next to a tree. She stopped and looked at the shed. She couldn't get rid of the feeling that something was wrong.
"Are you okay, sis?" asked Sota, running up behind her. She turned to look at him. "Sota, was this shed always here?" he nodded. "Yeah, for as long as I can remember." he said. "So there was never a shrine here?" he looked at her in confusion.
"No, there was never a shrine here. That shed has always been there. Come on, we're going to be late for dinner." Sota ran ahead. Kagome took a step toward the shed. She touched it lightly. This felt off. This didn't belong here.
She walked over to the tree and she ran her hand down the trunk. "That's strange. Isn't there supposed to be a scar here?" she asked.
'Wait, a scar?'
A flash of a sealed Inuyasha flashed through her head. 'Inuyasha?' She looked up at the tree. 'Yes! 500 years ago Inuyasha and I met under this tree!'
Kagome opened her eyes and she was surrounded by black. She turned again and she saw her family all in the shrine. Her mother was on all fours, they were all screaming her name. "Mama, Grandpa, Sota! I am right here!" she yelled.
"Kagome! Sis! Kagome!" yelled her family. "I'm right here!" she looked at herself. She was glowing. 'Wait, if they can't see me, then where am I?'
Kagome woke up and she saw nothing but darkness. "The bone eater's well has closed forever. You can't leave." She turned and looked up there was the Sacred Jewel. "Are you? Are you talking to me?" she asked the jewel.
"Yes, Kagome. You are in the jewel. This is where you belong now." Kagome gasped and she looked around. "Where am I? Where is Inuyasha!?" she yelled as she looked around.
"Kagome do you want to leave here? Do you want to leave the darkness?" Kagome gasped and looked away. "Just tell me where I am!"
"I told you. You are in the Sacred Jewel. You are where your're destined to be. You are where you are to spend an eternity if you don't make the right wish on the jewel. You will be stuck here, forever fighting Naraku, for eternity." Kagome gasped and looked at the jewel.
