Inuyasha woke up alone in his house. He looked around. "Kagome?" he asked, looking around. He got up and walked out of the house, looking for her. He closed his eyes and sniffed the air. Her scent was stale. She was gone for at least a few hours.
He ran through the woods, looking for Kagome. Everywhere he smelled, her scent was stale. He rushed to Miroku and Sango's. They came out. "What's going on?" asked Sango. Inuyasha took a deep breath.
"Something happened to Kagome. She's gone. Her scent all over is stale. She's been gone for a few hours at least. She was possessed yesterday. She walked away from the village yesterday. We didn't worry too much about it. She seemed normal."
"It's that bite. The demon is using that to control her." said Sango. "So does that mean that it did inject venom?" asked Miroku. "I'm not sure. But I'm willing to bet that Kagome was possessed by that demon and that demon led her to him."
"What the hell does this demon want with her!?" yelled Inuyasha. "We don't know, but we will find out. We will find her." said Miroku. Inuyasha nodded. "Let's go talk to Kaede before we leave. Maybe she has heard something about this type of demon." said Sango.
They nodded and headed to the house of the old woman. "Kaede have you ever heard about this type of demon?" asked Sango. Kaede thought about it. "It sounds like a nightmare demon." They looked at Kaede.
"It's a type of demon that feeds on the nightmares and fears of people. The more pain and fear the better. The demon injects the victim with a special type of venom. Then they use that venom to control the person and bring them to their nest. And with that, they cover them with special spider silk. They feed off the dreams through the silk."
They looked at each other. "How do you kill them?" asked Inuyasha. "You have to stab them through the heart. Then the venom should subside. But if Kagome is gone that means she's already at the nest. And the next step is to cover her in that silk."
"How long do we have until this demon kills her?" asked Miroku. "I say maybe three days." Inuyasha growled. "But something doesn't make sense to me." they looked at Sango. "This demon had a snake as a companion. Are these demons known for that?" Kaede shook her head.
"Not that I know of. But perhaps he used this serpent to seek out Kagome by scent." Inuyasha looked at Kaede. "Like Tsubaki's shikigami?" Kaede nodded. "Exactly. You need to figure out where this demon is keeping Kagome." They nodded.

Kagome looked around the cave. She gasped. She was covered in several layers of spider silk. She tried to free herself. "Don't struggle." came a voice. She turned and saw Akumu walk in. "The more you struggle the tighter and more silk that will cover you." Kagome glared at Akumu.
"What do you want with me?" she asked. He walked closer to her. "I want the power of the miko that destroyed the Shikon. You must be unstoppable. You must be dripping in powers." Kagome glared at him.
"So you want my sacred powers as yours?" She asked. Akumu shook his head. "Not just your powers, you just look very delicious. I've been watching you since you have been with the hanyou in the village."
Kagome was grossed out. "So you've been stalking me? Watching my every move?" she asked. Akumu nodded. "I wanted to see how you tasted. I can sense that you have many things that scare you. Including the demon Naraku."
Kagome shook her head. "Naraku is dead. He doesn't scare me." Akumu laughed. "Don't kid yourself. He is still on your mind. How else could I summon his form to scare you?" Kagome looked at him.
"You're the one that was showing me Naraku." Akumu nodded. "The more scared you are, the more delicious you taste. It's that simple Kagome." Kagome struggled to get free. Akumu ran his fingers through her hair, twisting a piece of her hair in between his fingers.
"Have to say, it's a shame that your nightmares and pain will be delicious. You are a very beautiful girl. You have very warm eyes." Kagome broke through the silk and slapped him across the face. "Don't touch me!" she yelled.
He grabbed her arm and pinned her against the silk wall, allowing more silk to cover it. He grabbed Kagome by the throat. "You are becoming a bother. Do us both a favor and go to sleep." he choked her out.
…
"Dammit!" yelled Inuyasha. "I can't pick up her scent at all! I can't tell where it could be!" yelled Inuyasha angrily. "We'll find her Inuyasha," said Miroku. "We just have to see if we can lure this demon out."
Laughter echoed throughout the trees. "You don't waste much time." said Akumu. He appeared. Inuyasha took his tetsuaiga out, aiming it at Akumu. "Where the hell is Kagome? What have you done with her!?" demanded Inuyasha.
Akumu laughed. "She's not reachable right now. She can't hear you." said Akumu, laughing. "So you are a nightmare demon." said Sango. Akumu looked at the group. "Yes, I am. My name is Akumu. I am a demon that feeds on fear and pain. And Kagome is under my spell already."
Inuyasha aimed his sword at Akumu. "Give me back Kagome." he spit out. Akumu laughed. "She's beyond your reach. She's in her own living nightmare of her making." Inuyasha growled and went at Akumu.
Kagome's Nightmare
Kagome opened her eyes and she looked around. She was still in the cave of the demon. She struggled against the silk. Akumu appeared in front of her. His eyes glowed black as did Kagome's. The noise of the bell rang in her head.
"Now go, Kagome. Go and pursue Inuyasha. And don't stop until you kill the hanyou." Kagome nodded and she walked out of the cave. There stood Inuyasha, his eyes full of relief.
"Kagome! Where have you been?" he asked, stopping a few feet from her. Kagome said nothing. 'No! Please! Get away from me! Run!' she begged in her head. Inuyasha walked closer to her.
"Kagome?" he asked. He looked at her face. "What happened to you, Kagome? Where did you go?" he asked.
'Walk over and embrace him one last time.' said Akumu.
'Please don't do this to me! You can feast on my nightmares all you want. But don't make me do this!' begged Kagome. 'Don't make me do this to him!' she begged.
"You will do what I command! Now walk over to the hanyou!" commanded Akumu.
Kagome fought as her body failed her, making her walk over to Inuyasha. She hugged him tightly. Inuyasha hugged her tightly. "I'm so glad you're okay." he said, wrapping his arms tightly around her.
"Inu…Yasha….Please." Kagome struggled to talk. Inuyasha looked at her in confusion when suddenly she used her sacred powers on him, burning holes into his kimono. Inuyasha screamed in pain.
He backed away from her. Inuyasha looked up to her. "Why Kagome? Why are you doing this to me? I thought you loved me." he said, hurt evident in his eyes. Kagome walked over to Inuyasha.
'Kill him. Kill the hanyou. Feel that despair and fear!' coached Akumu. Kagome fought her body as it came closer to Inuyasha. He looked at her. "How could you do this to me?" he asked.
"Because I don't want you to live." she said, deadpanned. She grabbed him again, once again burning him with her sacred powers. "How could I love a half-demon like you?" she asked. Kagome could feel the skin burn beneath her hands.
'Please stop! Don't make me hurt him! Please! I'm begging you!'
"Kagome! This isn't you! This can't be you!" cried Inuyasha. "You will die today, Inuyasha." said Kagome.

Inuyasha hit the ground hard again. He struggled to get up. "Give me back Kagome!" screamed Inuyasha. Akumu laughed. "No, her fear and pain are so delicious. Not to mention she's a beautiful girl."
Anger boiled in Inuyasha. "Shame that she's full of pain and fear. Because I wouldn't mind having her to myself. She's probably delicious in other ways too." he said with a taunting smile. Inuyasha yelled out in anger.
"Don't talk about Kagome like that!" He said, swinging at Akumu. Akumu laughed as he landed. "Strike a nerve there?" he asked. "The fear that she has surrounding you is delicious." Inuyasha landed, looking at the demon.
"Even now, she's stuck in a nightmare of her own making. It seems like she's terrified of killing you as someone named Kikyo did. And she is so scared of this, it's making this meal very good and filling." he said, licking his lips. Inuyasha growled.
"Inuyasha! We will go and find Kagome." said Sango. Akumu glared at Sango and Miroku. He summoned his serpent. The serpent hissed and spit at them. They backed away. Inuyasha looked at the cave.
"Kagome! You have to wake up! Please!" he begged. "KAGOME!" he screamed.
