After watching Monkey In The Middle, I thought this would be the best time to make a new chapter. It took me a while to come up with this idea. Without further ado, here's Chapter 26 everyone!
The Difference Of Two Worlds
In the past four days, villagers of the Valley Of Peace was being robbed due to a crime wave. Shifu sent Leo, Tigress, Po and Mantis to find evidence at the crime scenes. They found a small patch of fur at Mr. Ping's restaurant and they went on a stakeout that night. Leo told the three masters he'll be on the rooftops in case the thief runs on the roof. The next morning, they gave their report to Master Shifu. When nightfall came, Leo was going to Tigress's room until he saw Po was about to lick a small different patch of fur and Leo stops him.
"What are you doing, Leo?" Po looks at him.
Leo snatch both of them and inspected the two fur samples. Afte inspecting the two fur samples, Leo looks up at him. "Po?" Leo growled.
Tigress slides her door open with a angry look on her face, causing Po to look at her.
"Tigress." Po smiles nervously.
Leo's stomps on the panda's toes before he entered Tigress's room, making him yelp in pain. Tigress slams her door on Po's toes to add more.
"Didn't he know this is your room he entered when you were asleep?" Leo asks her.
"He really should look before entering into someone's room." Tigress replied.
The next morning came with Mr. Ping and the angry mob. They know who is the thief. Mr. Ping showed them a curtain that was covered in noodle dust with fingerprints. The rest of the Five and Po gasps in shocked but Shifu as he looks at Monkey and back to the mob.
Leo, however, wasn't convince and he wasn't surprised that Po saw the thief that moved like a monkey with the fingerprints and fur at the scene of the crime after he said he didn't see anything. When Po defended Monkey, Monkey tells everyone that he is the thief and escaped.
Shifu was prepared to send the rest of the Five and Leo to go after Monkey, but Po wanted to be the one to face Monkey since they're best friends and he'll listen to Po. Shifu allowed Po to go talk to Monkey. If it doesn't work, Shifu, the rest of the Five and Leo will go after them. The next day came as Leo arrived at the new mill after returning the stolen goods to the villagers.
"Let me guess, Po fell for one of Monkey's tricks again." Leo said, walking up to them as he notice the panda was covered in white paint.
"Yes he did." Mantis chuckled.
"Typical." Leo said, shaking his head. "I see that the mill is coming along well, you two."
"Thanks, Leo." Monkey thanked him as he got up from the ground. "Po and I are almost done here."
"Good to hear." Leo said. "I'll see all of you later."
"Before you go back to the Jade Palace, you are not reading the Thousand Scrolls, correct?" Shifu asks him.
"Correct, Master Shifu." Leo answered. "I've only been reading the scrolls that are in the library. I never touch the Thousands Scrolls since I became a student here."
That was true. Ever since Leo arrived here three months ago, he became a new student at the Jade Palace. His training in the Tiger Style was excellent like any Kung Fu Master. Shifu did thought about what Leo said that he did this kind of training before with two other kung fu masters. Leo held his own against Zhao and Prince Sying. He also mention he used to do Kung Fu as well. Maybe there will be time for Leo to explain about it when he's ready to talk about it.
Leo finished reading a scroll and places it back with the other scrolls on the shelves. "Damn it!" Leo cursed under his breath. "It's not here in this scroll as well! Why am I not fucking surprised?!"
The scrolls he read didn't have the answer for him. And he doubts there's an answer back in his world in the library and archives. Leo thought it would be best to leave the library for the rest of the day and focus on his meditating and training for a few hours to clear his head after the events the past weeks have given.
Today is Saturday for Leo and the Masters of the Jade Palace which means they have the day off from training and Sunday. Everyone would be off doing their own thing on their day off. Leo left the library and walks through the Hall Of Heroes. He was given a tour of the Jade Palace by Shifu and the Furious Five after the night Leo and Tigress became boyfriend and girlfriend. After leaving the Hall Of Heroes, Leo folded his arms and think where he should meditate for to day.
"Hm." Leo thought. "Should I meditate at the Peach Tree Hill, the Dragon Grotto, the Wu Dan Mountains or my room? Po and Monkey should be done by now. Crane is walking around the village with Mantis, Viper went shopping for a couple things, Master Shifu is doing his meditation in his room and Tigress would be working out now. I'll head to my room and meditate and reflect there with the window open in case another thief comes and cause trouble."
Leo walks over to the student barracks. He enters the room and close the door behind him before opening his window. Leo removed his shirt and folded it neatly on the bed. He looks at himself and still have a great muscular body for someone his age. The bandages he removed reveals the bite mark from Saber. The bite mark started from near his chest down to his stomach as the other set went from his upper back to his lower back and it was fading away everyday.
Before he began his meditation, Leo picks up his iPhone and inspects it. His phone have never lost power in the past three months since his arrival. He was going through the photos and the videos as several of them caught his eyes, including the last picture and video.
"Thanks for the memories, even if they weren't so great." Leo muttered under his breath, staring at the picture. "Damn." He sets the phone on the bed and sits down on the floor to begin meditating for a few hours.
Leo walks in the kitchen to see Viper, Mantis, Crane and Monkey playing mahjong. "I take it the mill is finished now?" Leo asked.
"That's right." Monkey said, turning his head.
"Good." Leo said as walks over to get a drink.
"Hey Leo, since all of us are here, we were all wondering where you're from." Mantis said.
"You want to know where I come from?" Leo turns around, raising his eyebrows.
"Yeah." Crane said.
"We all wanted to ask you about that once we were all together on day off like this." Viper explains. "But a lot of stuff happened that kept us busy in the past three months."
"I think that would be a excellent idea." Shifu enters the room with Po and Tigress. "We are all quite curious about where you are from."
"I see." Leo replied. "I do believe it's time that I told you all where I'm from and what we can expect in the future."
After the game was finished, Leo sat the end across from Tigress and Shifu. Viper and Po sat across from the side of the table as Monkey and Crane were across them and Mantis just sat on the table while Leo's iPhone was on the table.
"So where are you from, Leo?" Shifu asks him.
"I'm from a different world." Leo answered. "And it's very different because it's advanced."
"Like your iPhone on the table?" Mantis pointed out the phone.
"Correct." Leo picks up the phone. "Where Panther and I'm from, there's a lot of humans all over the world."
"So does all humans don't have any fur, claws, fangs or tails?" Crane asked.
"No." Leo answered.
"If humans don't have any of that, are they like hairless apes and related?" Po asked.
"In a way, yes and no. All humans have hair on their heads, eyebrows, armpits and private parts for which I will not mention. Humans evolved from apes over time and becoming intelligent while others are wild."
"Wild?" Shifu asked, raising an eyebrow. "What do you mean by that?"
Leo took a deep breath before he continued. "You see, the world have many wild animals like you all except they don't wear clothes except humans. There are those in each country's government that created laws to protect wild animals from cruelty and corruption. Those animals are given safe sanctuary."
"And what about those who don't support these ideas?" Po asked.
"They ignore those laws to hunt and kill those poor animals for their own benefits." Leo explains. "Not all animals are wild. People would keep them as pets."
"Pets as in prisoners?" Viper widen her eyes in shock.
"No." Leo quickly said. "When I say pets, it means they have a new family member when they adopt a pet."
"So what kind of pets do they adopt, Leo?" Shifu asked.
"Some adopt dogs which is consider man's best friend and there are others who adopts cats, birds, rabbits, etcetera."
"And what about the ones who lives in the wild?" Tigress spoke.
"That will require special permits from the city itself. Others would be against the idea because a wild animal is just a wild animal and there's no telling what would happen, even if that person can train the wild animal. But I do know that people can have a special bond when they know the wild animal since it was small cub."
"I see." Shifu said.
"What else do humans do?" Po asked.
"Well, they do everyday normal stuff, except we have technology, like my iPhone, here. The iPhone can do a lot of things."
"Like what?" Viper asked, interested.
"It can tell the time, day, weather, security, take photos, record videos, play music and a bunch of other stuff."
"Can you show us?" Mantis asked.
"Yes." Leo replied. He presses the button twice and puts in his passcode and fingerprint to get to the home screen and sets it down on the table for everyone to see. "So right now, we are at the main screen." Leo explains. "If you want to view a photo, just tap the photo icon and you can view your photos and videos." He taps the app and there were photos and videos of him, Panther and bunch of other people. "You can scroll through by moving your paws, claws and tail to go up and down."
Mantis hops onto the phone and scrolls upwards with his claw.
"Wow." Monkey said. Mantis hands the device to Monkey and Monkey tapped on a picture to take the whole screen. "I think the picture grew."
"That's because you tapped the picture for a better look. You can't scroll it up and down. Slide your thumb either left and right to look at another picture. When you're done, press the button at the bottom of the phone."
Monkey did as he instructed and taps the button, taking him back at the photos.
"So how do you take a picture and a vadeo?" Mantis mispronounced the last word.
"You mean "video"." Leo corrected him. "You go to camera. Press the button on the bottom and right next to photos will be camera. Tap the gray icon and you'll be at the camera."
Monkey exits the photos and taps the camera. He can see Po, Viper and Mantis in the camera. "You three are in the camera."
"That's because the camera is pointed at them, Monkey." Leo walks over to Monkey. "Now, we're on the Photo Option. At the bottom of the screen there's a white circle. Po, Mantis, Viper, can the three of you smile at the camera?"
The three kung fu masters did what Leo said and smiled.
"Tap the white circle." Leo instructed.
When Monkey taps it, it made a shutter clicking sound that startles him and the others.
"What was that?" Shifu wondered.
"It means the picture has been taken. Monkey, if you can tap the picture you taken on the bottom left corner of the screen."
Monkey taps the picture as he was instructed. "Check this out, the three of you are in the picture." He turns the phone to the Po, Viper and Mantis.
"Whoa!" Po gasps.
"It looks great." Viper smiled.
Monkey showed the picture to Crane, Shifu and Tigress.
"Taking a picture is fast and easy. Po, would you and Crane like to take picture of Monkey and Mantis?"
"Yeah, that would cool." Po smiled.
Monkey hands the device over to the Dragon Warrior and Crane. The two warriors took the picture of Monkey and Mantis.
"Hey Leo, why is there a camera icon with an arrow going in a circle?" Po asked, noticing the camera icon.
"Tap the icon and the camera will be on you." Leo replied.
Po taps the icon and he saw himself in the camera. "Awesome! Hey, how about Master Shifu and Tigress?"
"I think that would be a wonderful idea." Shifu said.
"You should take the picture of them, Leo." Monkey suggested.
"Not a bad idea." Crane suggested.
Po hands the phone over to Leo. Leo waited for a moment for the camera to focus and took a picture of his master and girlfriend after he flips the camera back. He hands the phone over to Mantis and Mantis brought the phone to Shifu. Tigress smiles at the picture she was in with her father. The picture was nice and crystal clear.
"This is beautiful, Leo." Tigress complimented him.
"Thank you, Tigress." Leo smiled.
"Leo, you mentioned that your phone records too?" Po asked.
"Yes. Master Shifu, if you will."
Shifu hands the phone back to Mantis and the phone was back in Leo's hands.
"To record the video, move your finger to the right. Once it's on video, you'll see a red circle at the bottom and a timer on top of the screen. Viper, would you like to record a video?"
"I would like that." Viper smiled. She wraps the phone with her tail and taps the red circle. There was a faint sound after she pressed it. "Ok, it's recording. Now what?"
"You can move the camera around once it records. Anyone who does anything will be recorded in a instant."
"You mean like this?" Viper moves the phone.
"That's right." Leo said. "If wants to talk about something, go ahead.
"The weather's lovely out there, isn't?" Crane asked.
"Yes it is, Crane." Monkey replied. "Perfect day for a prank."
"So who are you pranking today, Monkey?" Mantis asked.
Viper turned the camera away from the guys to Tigress. The feline warrior notices the camera was on her and Shifu. She gave a small smile to her friend.
"So Leo, when does the video end?" Viper turns the camera on Leo.
"You can end it at any time." Leo answered.
"Like right now?"
"Yes. Just tap the circle on the bottom screen to end it."
Viper ended the video and sets it on the table.
"Since that video is over, would you like to watch it?" Leo asks them.
"Hell yeah, Leo." Monkey smiled.
"Alright."
Viper taps the lower left corner of the screen and the video pops up. "So how do you play it?"
"To play it, tap the sideway triangle at the bottom of the screen."
When she taps the video, the video started playing and can see the guys in the video talking about what they just talked about it.
"Amazing." Shifu said with amazement.
"That is awesome!" Po smiles with excitement.
"So humans carry these iPhones with them wherever they go?" Shifu asked.
"Yes. Having an iPhone is very helpful. You can call and message people or you can play music or games." Leo replied.
"What kind of music?" Viper wondered.
"Any type of music. From country to love music and songs."
"Can we listen to one?" Tigress asked.
"Sure. Tigress, would you like to try my iPhone?"
"I would love that, Leo." Tigress answered. She receives the phone from Viper.
"Now, press the button at the bottom of the phone. At the home screen, you'll see a music note on the bottom right corner."
Tigress did what Leo said and was brought by different options. Leo had to walk over to her and Shifu.
"Now, tap on the Songs option."
She taps the option and a bunch of songs appeared on the screen.
"You can pick any song you like."
Tigress scrolls through the songs and found a song that she found. She taps the song and the song began to play. The masters were completely surprised when the music was coming out of the phone and the lyrics kicked in.
"How do you turn the music down?!" Tigress raised her voice.
"You'll feel two buttons on the left side of the phone! Press the bottom phone a couple times until it is not too loud!"
She presses the button a couple times and the music was turn halfway down.
"What song are we listening to, Leo?" Shifu asks him.
"We're listening to My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark (Light'em Up) by the Fall Out Boys." Leo answered.
"Is this what humans do everyday?"
"Besides the stuff we just do, humans build towns and cities all over the world, including factories. But it does mess up the ecosystem and people are cleaning up the messes."
"Interesting."
"And what about the weapons we encountered in Gongmen City? Do they make those things too?"
Leo took a breath before he spoke. "Yes. Each army has weapons like that and you all saw how dangerous they are."
"Thankfully, all of them were destroyed after your killed Prince Sying." Shifu said.
"I'm just glad I killed him." Leo replied.
"You think the humans will be happy to find out that Sying is dead?"
"Yes. But other than all that, our two worlds are different and we're all the same people." Leo said.
"What do you mean?" Po asked.
"He means we live in a world without humans and he lives in a world of humans." Shifu explains to him. "But even though we are different, we are the same."
"Awesome." Po said.
Everyone listened to the rest of the song until the song ended.
"That was a good song." Monkey said.
"Hell yeah." Mantis agreed.
"I've seen people workout while listening to their music, not to mention dancing in dance competitions."
This caught everyone's attention, including Viper.
"Dancing competitions?" Viper smiled.
"Yeah. A few of my friends entered these dance competitions to have a good time at the festival." Leo looks at her. "My master did saw our friend showing her skills with a sword."
"That's interesting." Viper said.
They all heard a loud growl from a stomach. Everyone turn their heads towards the Dragon Warrior.
"I think this would be a good idea to make dinner." Po said.
"I agree." Monkey agreed.
"While you're making dinner, I'll bring my phone back to my room." Leo said. Tigress hands her boyfriend the iPhone back to him and Leo left the room. He made it back to his room and sits down on the bed. There were many photos and videos of him and Panther back in their world with everyone they know. Leo looks at the photos and videos from today. It was nice to talk about the difference of two different worlds.
After dinner was done, Leo was in his room looking over a scroll. He stands up to stretch his arms and legs. Leo walks over to his bed and sits down. Picking up his phone, Leo went through the pictures and video from today. The last picture with Shifu and Tigress was beautiful, especially Tigress. He never thought Leo would show how to use a phone or explain the differences of his world to them. While Leo was looking at the photo, he heard a knock on the door.
"Leo, can I come in?" Tigress asked.
"Yes." Leo answered.
Tigress enters the room and close the door behind her.
"I never knew your phone is capable of doing that." Tigress said, sitting besides him.
"And I never thought I was going to show you how to do that on my phone." Leo replied. "I thought you were at the Training Hall."
"I finished early and wanted to see you." Tigress said. She looks and saw the picture of her and her adoptive father. "Is that the picture from today?"
"Yes it is, Tigress." Leo smiled, handing the phone in her paws.
She looks at the photos of her other friends. "It's sweet of you to take the picture of the rest of the five and Po." Tigress complimented him.
"Thank you, Tigress."
"You know, you and I are not in a picture together."
"We should have a picture of the two of us then." Leo smiled.
She hands the iPhone back to him and waited Leo to get the camera ready. Tigress her right arm around his shoulders as Leo did the same thing with his left arm. He held the phone out in front with the camera on them. Leo waited for a moment to have the camera focus and he took the picture. The two warriors looks at the picture.
"I'm never going to delete these photos." Leo said to her. "Especially the last photo with the two of us so we can always look at it."
"I love the sound of that." Tigress smiles at it. "We should get some sleep."
"That sounds good to me." Leo smiled. "Before you go back to your room, I was wondering if you want to sleep in here with me tonight. I know that you miss me sleeping in our room."
"Yes." Tigress spoke softly, seeing him blushing as she places her free arm around his shoulder. "I would love that."
He could see her blushing underneath her fur. Leo leans in and kisses her on the lips. She returns the kiss as the two of them tried to stand up, but Leo lost his balance and fell backwards on the bed with Tigress laying on top of him. They stopped kissing for several seconds because of Leo lost his balance. Leo and Tigress stares into each other eyes and began kissing again with compassion. Leo broke the kiss for them to receive some air.
"I love you, Tigress."
"I love you too, Leo."
Leo can feel her tail brushing gently against his leg. Rolling on his right side, they were in a comfortable position to sleep for the whole night Leo and Tigress didn't let go. They kissed one more time before closing their eyes.
Leo was in a dark void. He felt like he was floating but his feet had touch solid ground. Then he could hear voices.
"So hard-core, you don't feel anything."
"He's okay, I guess."
"In time, you won't feel anything like me."
"This time I'll stop him, even if it cost me my life."
"Because of what you're going through, Leo."
"I know you, Leo, And I won't watch my boyfriend be killed."
"Gah!"
"NO!"
"LEO!"
Leo closed his eyes as he heard the fighting from the past began. There were guns being fired inside the factory. The RPGs firing at the helicopters. He could feel the wind blowing through his hair when they jumped from the falling tower. He opens his eyes as he heard different voices. All the voices disappeared. Fire erupted from the ground, trapping him a fiery hurricane. Leo notices the dark figure walking into the flames and he growls as the shadow version of himself chuckled.
Leo opens his eyes and found himself in his room with Tigress still sleeping besides him. "These nightmares just keeps getting worse." Leo thought. "At least the dream was a little good until the fucked up nightmares came into play again. I'll never be rid of these nightmares." He kisses Tigress gently on the cheek without having her to wake up and went back to sleep.
This chapter was hard to work on, I'll admit. But it turned out better than I thought. It has been a while since Leo and Tigress slept in the same room together, but interesting as well. I hope you all enjoyed this chapter and don't forget to leave a review!
