The group was at that point unconscious until they all started groaning as they woke up.
"Is everyone okay?" asked Leo getting up as did the others.
"Yeah, I think I got everything in place." said Mikey.
"Uh… Guys, where are we?" asked Casey lifting up his mask to get a better look.
At that moment, they all began to look around and discover that they were in some sort of jungle, and it was broad daylight.
"Did we end up in some sort of giant botanical garden?" asked Raph.
"Guys, I have a feeling we're not in New York anymore." said April.
"Not just that." said Donnie looking at a scanner.
"What do you mean?" asked Leo.
"I'm scanning our location and not only are we far away from New York, but we're not in our world either." said Donnie.
"What? How do you know that?" asked Mikey.
"All universes have their own frequency, just like Dimension X. When I analyzed our location, I discovered that this world's frequency was very different from ours." said Donnie.
"Congratulations, Mikey. You broke the device, and you've dragged us to another world!" said Raph.
"Hey! If I hadn't, we would have ended up going into space without a return ticket!" said Mikey.
"Well, you could have thought of something else, but of course, what can you be expected to do?" asked Raph pissing Mikey off to the point where he was going to pounce on him.
"Guys, please calm down." began Leo putting himself between the two of them. "Raph, you can't blame Mikey for what happened. In fact, I would have done the same thing."
"Really?" asked Raph.
"Yes. The situation was so disadvantageous that I would have done anything to prevent our death. So…" began Leo before turning to his younger brother. "Thanks, Mikey."
"Yeah, it doesn't matter that we're in another world. You saved us all." said April.
"Oh, you're welcome, guys." said Mikey rubbing the back of his head with a slight blush.
"Okay, matter settled, but there's still the issue of us not knowing where we are." said Casey.
"Or how to get back to our world." said Raph.
"Okay. For now, let's go in search of some civilization. Once we find it, we'll get information about where we are and then, we'll try to figure out a way to get back." said Leo.
"And it better be quick. Who knows what Shredder might do as soon as he finds out we're not in New York anymore." said Donnie.
"He'd probably celebrate by thinking we're dead." said Mikey.
"Yeah, before conquering the whole city along with the Kraang." said April.
"Then, let's not waste too much time." said Leo before they all set off.
Hours had passed since the group began their journey in search of civilization and so far, all they had seen were plants, rocks and the odd animal like small mice with butterfly wings.
In fact, Mikey begged his brothers to take one, but they all refused, screaming at the top of their lungs.
Now, the sun was beginning to set over the horizon and while most of them remained patient, there were a few who were starting to get impatient.
"Dude, how long until we get there?" asked Mikey wearily.
"Patience, Mikey. I'm sure we're close." said Leo.
"Oh, I'll tell you where we are. We're completely lost!" said Raph.
"We've been walking for hours, and we haven't found anything. Is there even any civilization around here?" asked Casey.
"Well, there has to be, right? Because if not, we'll be here for a LONG time." said Donnie.
"Wait." said April causing everyone to stop.
"What's wrong?" asked Leo.
April put a hand to her head to concentrate.
"Something is coming towards us." said April.
"Quick. Let's hide." said Leo before the group ducked into the jungle undergrowth.
They were waiting for a couple of minutes before something came speeding through the area.
Despite the speed at which it was going, they could all clearly see that it was a long-haired human girl riding on a spherical object.
"That was a human?" asked Mikey.
"Finally, some good news." said Casey.
"If there are humans on this world, then surely there must be some civilization out there." said Donnie.
"In that case, let's follow her, but let's all stay hidden." said Leo before the group moved quickly to catch up with the human girl.
Raya traveled through the jungle trails on the back of her animal friend and transport, Tuk Tuk, unaware that she had several people following her closely and in the shadows.
Since Kumandra re-emergence, the relations between the five kingdoms that composed it became peaceful, but to help in that matter, it was decided that Raya, the princess of Heart, would visit the other kingdoms to check on their status, as well as to visit the friends she made from each kingdom.
Right now, she was on her way to one of the five kingdoms and continued on her way for a while, being followed by the turtles and their friends.
After a while, she stopped and so did the group.
Raya looked up at the sky to see that it was beginning to get dark.
"It's already very late." began Raya getting off the animal. "We'll spend the night here, Tuk Tuk." said Raya as the ball unrolled, revealing itself to be a huge animal with plates on its back.
"That thing was an animal?" asked April in surprise.
"Oh, can I have one of those?" asked Mikey, but he was ignored.
"Fascinating. Looks like a fusion between a hamster and an armadillo." said Donnie.
"Hey, now that she's stopped, what do you say we go over to her and ask for help?" asked Casey.
"Even if it's a good idea, I think we should stay hidden until we get to a city or something." said Leo.
"As you say, fearless leader." said Raph.
The group stayed hidden as they watched Raya get things ready to set up camp for the night.
Night came and Raya was sitting by the fire eating some food as was Tuk Tuk.
Meanwhile, the group decided to keep watch as they rested, though some began to complain.
"Guys, why didn't we bring some pizza? I'm starving." said Mikey.
"Mikey, it's part of ninja training to know how to endure situations even if they become difficult." said Leo.
"Yeah, but I'm not a ninja, so I'm going to go over there and grab some food." said Casey pointing to where Raya was.
"That won't be necessary." began April arriving at the place with some fruit. "While you were keeping watch, I decided to scout around and managed to find these." said April before handing one to each of them. "Don't worry. They aren't poisonous."
"April, you are our savior." said Donnie making the girl blush slightly.
As the turtles enjoyed their dinner, Leo still kept his eyes on Raya.
Soon after, Raya put out the campfire and went to sleep, as did the turtles and their human friends.
The whole place was quiet.
However, several subjects began to move quickly in the shadows.
Despite their stealth, the noise they were making was enough to make Leo's eyes snap open.
"Wake up, everyone, now." whispered Leo causing everyone to groan in awakening.
"What the hell is going on?" asked Raph.
"Yeah, wait a bit until the sun comes up." said Mikey somewhat sleepily.
"Shh. Quiet. Something's going on." said Leo.
"What?" asked Donnie.
"He's right. I feel several people approaching our position." said April using her psychic abilities.
"Have we been discovered?" asked Casey.
"I'm not sure, but stay alert." said Leo as they all stood up and braced themselves in case of attack.
That's when they saw several figures in black suits and hoods come out of the shadows, but the group realized they weren't after them, but after Raya, as they were circling the area where she was camped.
They also noticed that those mysterious guys were wearing on their suits a symbol of several sharp teeth that simulated a bite.
"Well, on the bright side, they didn't spot us." said Donnie.
"It must be a group of night assailants." said Raph.
"And their next target is that girl. We have to help her." said April.
"Wait a little while. Let's see what will happen." said Leo as he kept his eyes on the stage in front of them.
One of the assailants approached Raya, who was still sleeping, and drew a dagger which he raised high to deliver the final blow.
The group was about to leap into action when suddenly, just as the assailant lowered the dagger…
CLANK
A clanking sound was heard in the area and the dagger flew off until it landed on the ground.
Raya happened to be perfectly awake and had quickly grabbed her sword to block the dagger.
"One thing I've learned from my travels is to always stay alert even when I'm asleep. Now, who are you?" asked Raya pointing her sword at them.
"Our name doesn't matter now. All that matters is that we're going to kill you." said one assailant as he and the others drew their swords.
Raya got into a fighting stance with her sword.
"Give it a try if you want." said Raya.
The assailants didn't hesitate to jump into the fray.
Raya used her sword to block an incoming attack before pushing the attacking assailant away from her.
She quickly spun around and punched another assailant before delivering a horizontal kick to another assailant.
A pair of assailants ran at her from both sides, but she ducked and spun to slide her legs between theirs, causing them to fall to the ground.
Then another assailant tried to strike her with his sword, but Raya blocked him with hers before attacking him, but the assailant blocked the sword with his.
However, that left him open to Raya headbutting him in the face which knocked him back before running at him and punching him in the face.
As Raya fended off the assailants, the group stood off to the side watching it all happen.
"Wow. Guys, she's amazing." said Mikey.
"I think I'm falling in love." said Casey.
"Awesome. She moves almost like us." said Donnie.
"I'll admit she fights well, but she's not on the same level as us." said Raph crossing his arms.
"True, but that doesn't take away from how skilled she is." said Leo with awe and interest.
"Guys, as good as she is, I think she might be in trouble." said April pointing to an area where they could see several archers preparing to shoot with their crossbows.
Before anyone could react, one of the archers shot an arrow.
Fortunately, Raya moved at that moment and managed to avoid it by the skin of her teeth, although it left a small cut on her clothes.
Raya was surprised by this and began to use her sword to block the next arrows shot, but the assailants took advantage of this to attack her.
She managed to defend herself, but the attacks of the assailants and the arrows complicated matters.
Finally, one of the assailants kicked her in the chest that knocked her to the ground and when she looked up, she saw one of the assailants pointing his sword at her.
"Once we are done with you, our task will be closer to being accomplished." said the assailant raising his sword and bringing it down quickly.
Raya was about to use her sword to block him when suddenly someone stood in the middle and blocked the sword with another.
Raya was surprised, as she didn't expect someone to appear to her rescue.
Due to the darkness of the night, she couldn't clearly see what he looked like, but he could tell it was a young man wearing a hooded cloak (which Mikey had with him).
With a shove, Leo pushed the assailant away from him and turned around to hold out his hand to Raya, who, despite her misgivings, accepted it, letting him help her up.
"Who are you?" asked the assailant.
"Just someone who doesn't like bullies." said Leo.
"This is none of your business. I'd advise you to leave. In case you haven't noticed, we have more members in reserve." said the mugger.
"You mean these?"
They all looked in one direction to see Raph and the others (in suits covering their faces) come out with the downed archers at their feet.
"Count again, punk." said Casey.
Raya was both surprised and confused, as she kept wondering who they were.
"Grrr. Finish them all off!" ordered the assailant before they all went on the attack.
"Goongala!" shouted Casey skidding towards one of the assailants.
When an assailant went to attack him with his sword, Casey slid under it until he was behind the assailant and before he could react, Casey hit him with his field hockey stick, knocking him down in the process.
April moved to the side to avoid a sword strike before drawing her tensen to block another and after that, she launched a psychic thrust that sent the assailant flying into a tree.
Donnie used his staff to block an incoming sword before quickly spinning it around, causing the assailant to lose the sword and shortly after, Donnie hit him in the stomach with the tip of his staff before hitting him in the chin with an upward vertical swing.
"Booyakasha!" shouted Mikey moving quickly between the assailants to dodge their attacks and then, Mikey threw a chain that wrapped around them, trapping them in the process and he took advantage of that to close in on them and hit them with his nunchucks.
Raph used his sais to block a pair of an assailant's swords before he, with a spin, parted them and then gave the assailant a punch to the face that knocked him down.
Raya was very surprised.
From the looks of them, despite their disguises, she could see that they were teenagers a little younger than her and even so, they were showing impressive skills, especially that girl when she pushed that assailant without even touching him.
She had so many questions to ask them, but right now she had to concentrate on the mysterious assailants.
Both she and Leo were using their swords to take down any assailant that came near them and during the fight, they both ended up back-to-back.
"Hey, thanks for the help." said Raya before blocking a sword attack and then kicking down the assailant.
"You're welcome." said Leo as he used one katana to block an attack and then used the other to knock the assailant down.
"May I know who you are?" asked Raya taking down another assailant.
"Just some guys passing by." said Leo, as he didn't want to reveal anything important.
"Well, I'm Raya, and you?" asked Raya turning her head.
"I'm… " began Leo turning his head before they both saw something.
"Look out!" they both shouted in unison before turning to the side the other was on and kicking an assailant at the same time.
By then, all of the assailants had been taken down as the group gathered.
One assailant grunted as he saw that, despite their numbers, the abilities of these strangers were different from what he had seen and with them there, they didn't stand a chance.
"Let's retreat." began the assailant as the other assailants gathered around him. "This isn't over." said the assailant before another threw up a cloud of smoke that covered the entire area.
"Hey. That's our trick." said Mikey.
"Never mind. Let's take the opportunity to leave." said Leo.
By the time the smoke cleared, Raya was shocked to see that she was left alone in the place, except for Tuk Tuk.
She couldn't understand.
Why had they left? Who were they really?
She would have liked to get to know them more, and even though she had only seen them a short time, she could tell they were trustworthy.
Seeing that the area was safe again, Raya decided to go back to sleep while mentally hoping to see her rescuers again.
Meanwhile, the turtles and the two human teenagers had returned to their hideout to rest.
"Ah. Nothing like a good night's warm-up." said Raph.
"I tell ya. Those guys look like rookies in front of the Purple Dragons." said Casey.
"Tell me, Leo, why did we leave? We could have introduced ourselves properly." said April.
"Yeah, he seemed like a nice person." said Mikey.
"She certainly is, but we still don't know how this world works. We need all the information we can get before we even think about appearing before anyone." said Leo.
"And you're sure we can trust her?" asked Donnie.
"I could tell while we were fighting. She's trustworthy." said Leo.
"Well, then let's trust that we'll have a quieter night." said Casey yawning.
"We should take turns making sure those guys don't attack again." said Donnie.
"I'll take first watch. The rest of you, get some rest." said Leo.
While the others went to sleep, Leo stayed awake, keeping an eye on the surroundings while still thinking about the time he fought alongside Raya.
If the time came when they had to show themselves to someone and ask for help, he was sure she would be the first.
Sure, she might get scared or, at worst, attack them, but he felt that she would do nothing of the sort, but would welcome them with open arms.
Meanwhile, in some distant mountains, a pair of Kraang droids were guarding the entrance to a cave.
Soon after, two other Kraang droids arrived and entered the cave, where several Kraang droids could be seen building things out of bits of metal and machinery.
The two droids approached another who was overseeing things.
"Does Kraang have what is known as terrain information?" asked the Kraang droid.
"Affirmative. Kraang is in a different place than what is known as the dimension that the ones known as the turtles come from." said the other Kraang droid.
"Kraang believes that the failure of what is known as a portal device caused an effect that brought Kraang to this dimension." said another Kraang droid.
"Kraang need not worry. Kraang will use the wreckage that came with us to build what is known as a communication device and send what is known as a message to Kraang's allies." said the Kraang droid.
"Kraang wants to know what will happen to those known as the turtles and their allies." said the other Kraang droid.
"Kraang believes that if Kraang is here, those known as the turtles and their allies will also be here." said the other Kraang droid.
"Kraang will cross what is known as the bridge when the time comes. The important thing now for Kraang is to communicate what is known as the situation." said the Kraang droid as everyone returned to their tasks.
As soon as the sun rose, starting a new day, Raya, as well as the turtles and others got up and continued their journey.
As everyone continued on their way, with the group following Raya from a safe distance, both she and Leo kept thinking about what happened last night, not only because they wanted to get to know each other, but also because they had a feeling that those assailants were more than they appeared to be.
"How long must we go on like this?" asked Raph.
"There's such a thing as patience, Raph." said Leo.
"Yeah, dude, you should learn from it." said Casey.
"He said the pot calling the kettle black." said Donnie causing April to chuckle.
After another while of walking, the group stopped when they reached the end of the forest as Raya continued on her way.
What the group saw before them was something that left them wide-eyed and open-mouthed.
In front of them was an island surrounded by a water well with a city with huge fields and in the middle of the island was a huge palace.
"Holy chalupa." said Mikey.
"We're definitely not in New York anymore." said Leo.
