After a long trek our finally find their way out of the Viridian Forest and finally make their way to Pewter City what new excitements await our heroes today let's find out right now.
"There it is Pewter City." Cody said as they walk out of the Forest.
"Phew. For a while there I thought was going to be in this forest for the rest of my life!" Ash said as he sat on a rock with Pikachu agreeing with him.
"Pewter City is grey, the color of stone. This town has always been famous for stone." A voice said.
"Huh? What the?" Ash questioned as he sees a man with a long bushy beard and beanie on his head sitting next to a rock.
"The name's Flint, and you are sitting on some of my merchandise." The man now known as Flint said.
"Oh! Sorry." Ash said stumbling off the rock "You mean you sell rocks?" He questioned looking at the Price tags.
"Pewter City souvenirs. Wanna buy some?" Flint questioned.
"No thanks. I'm traveling, trying to become a Pokemon trainer." Ash said.
"Same here." Cody said.
"Well, some of your Pokemon may be worn out, especially that Pikachu. Why don't you all follow me? I'll show you to the Pokemon Center." Flint offered.
"Thanks. We appreciate it." Cody said.
See? Looks can be deceiving. He's a really nice guy." Ash said.
"Are you sure?" Misty questioned.
"By the way, that'll be a two dollar charge for resting on my rocks." Flint said causing everyone to fall over in disbelief.
At the Pokemon Center.
"Please, revitalize my Pokemon." Ash said placing his Poke balls on a tray.
"Sure, right away, Ash" Nurse Joy said.
"Huh? Nurse Joy?" Ash questioned in confusion.
"But this isn't Viridian City, this is Pewter City." Ash said.
"The Joy in Viridian City is my little sister. I'm the older Joy." Nurse Joy said surprising our heroes.
"So the rumors are true they do all look alike." Cody whispered.
"I've heard nice things about you and your friends, Ash. Very nice." Nurse Joy said.
"Uh, thank you." Ash said.
"Say, did any of you see that poster?" Nurse Joy questioned pointing to a poster.
"The Pokemon Regional Championship. All right!" Ash said excitedly.
"So that's this year huh I'm sure that there'll be plenty of strong trainers there." Cody said.
"Then that's what I'll do! I'll enter the Pokemon League and win!" Ash said.
"Ha!" Misty laughed catching their attention.
"Huh? What's the matter?" Ash questioned.
"To compete in the Regional Championship, you need to beat gym trainers from different towns and get their badges as proof. Can you do that?" Misty questioned.
"Of course I can." Ash said.
"I'll be participating as well." Cody said.
" cool that means that we'll be facing each other someone down the line." Ash said.
"Yep and I won't be holding back." Cody said.
"Neither will I." Ash said.
"(laughs) Don't tell me you two plan on challenging Brock, the Pewter City gym leader." Flint said.
"Of course we do! As soon as Pikachu and both our Pokemon are all better, we'll have no problem." Ash said.
"Take us to this Brock's gym. We'll beat him!" Ash said.
" You two will beat him?" Flint said before walking away laughing.
In the Cafeteria.
"Oh, that Flint! Trying to make a fool out of me and Cody." Ash said angrily as they ate.
"Do you really think you can win? Gym leaders are different from your everyday Pokemon trainer, they're much much tougher." Misty said.
"Oh we know that's why we're planning on training before heading to the gym." Cody said.
"Wait really?' Misty questioned.
"Yep we did plenty of research on the gyms before starting our journey so we'll be ready." Ash said.
At the front desk.
"Well, everyone. No more waiting. All your Pokemon are all back to normal." Nurse Joy said as Pikachu and Riolu jumped into the arms of their respective trainers.
"Alright now it's time to train." Ash said as they walked outside.
Once outside they let out all of their Pokemon who greeted their trainers with a simultaneous cry of their names.
As soon as they were let out both Fennekin and Salazzle moved towards Ash with Fennekin jumping into his arms and Salazzle pressed herself into Ash.
Finally noticing each other Both Fennekin and Salazzle give each other a heated glare both unknowingly being glared at by Pidgeotto.
"Hey everyone we finally made it to Pewter City and soon will be challenging the gym and we're going to win!" Ash said causing his and Cody's Pokemon to call out in agreement.
"But before we do anything hey Salazzle." Ash said catching the fire/poison type's attention "do you mind if I scan you with my Pokedex?" He asked pulling out his Pokedex.
Salazzle just smiled and nodded before nuzzling her Trainer affectionately getting annoyed glares from both Fennekin and Pidgeotto.
"Awesome! Thanks." Ash said before pointing his Pokedex at her.
This Pokemon knows the moves Flame Burst, Toxic, and Venom Drench.
"huh only three moves I take it your original trainer never bothered to teach you another move? Ash questioned.
Salazzle nodded her head remembering how lazy her old trainer was and never tried to teach any of his Pokemon new moves.
"Well we're going to fix that don't worry Salazzle by the time of the Pokemon League you'll be the strongest Salazzle out there!" Ash declared.
Salazzle just smiled happy that she made the right decision in joining Ash's team as she hugged Ash even closer to her the glares she was getting from Fennekin and Pidgeotto intensifying.
Cody clears his throat "alright listen up everyone the Pewter City Gym specializes in rock types so we're going to teach you some moves that will give you an advantage Riolu and Beedrill you two will learn Brick Break to do so you'll be punching the training dummies." Cody said getting a salute from both Riolu and Beedrill before they went to train.
"Pikachu, Salazzle, and Fennekin will be learning Iron Tail to do that we'll need to star your tails perhaps by lifting and smashing rocks." Ash said getting nods from the three Pokemon.
"Good now Spearow and Pidgeotto in order for you two to learn Steel Wing we'll have to tie small rocks to your wings in order to strengthen them plus that should increase your speed and agility as well." Cody said.
"Butterfree although you might not participate in the battle I suggest you learn stun spore." Cody said.
"And finally Blaziken I know you're not used to use yet but do you think you can run some laps around the training area to improve your speed?" Ash asked the fire/fighting type.
Blaziken stared at him for a second before nodding a blush appearing on her face.
Ash smiled "good now everyone let's get to training!" Ash said and with that the training began.
After a few days of training our heroes can be seen in front of the Gym.
"Well this is it." Ash said as he and Cody stood in front of the Gym.
"Well let's go in." Cody said.
Nodding his head Ash walked forward and with a deep breath he opened the doors.
"HELLO?!" Ash called out as he and Cody stepped inside.
"Who goes there?" A voice responded before the lights suddenly turned on.
They turned to see a man dressed in a Orange shirt with a green vest over it, Brown pants and blue shoes.
"So, you must be Brock. I'm Ash from Pallet. I challenge you."
"I'm Cody also from Pallet. And I'm challenging you two." Cody said.
"Very well who's going first?" Brock questioned.
"How about you go first Ash." Cody said.
"Okay then" Ash said before taking position on the battlefield.
"Alright the battle will be two on two and the match will be over when both Pokemon on either side are unable to battle furthermore only the challenger can swap Pokemon are you okay with that?" Brock questioned.
"You bet I am!" Ash said.
"Alright then let's begin." Brock said pulling out a Pokeball.
"Go Geodude!" Brock declared throwing the Pokeball.
What came out was a Pokemon made of rock with two arms.
"Alright then go Pidgeotto!" Ash said releasing his bird Pokemon.
"Heh rookie mistake Geodude use Focus Punch!" Brock commanded.
Obeying his Trainer Geodude charges at Pidgeotto with his fist glowing.
Ash smiles.
"Pidgeotto dodge it!" Ash said.
Nodding the little bird Pokemon swerved to the side avoiding the Focus Punch.
"Now get close with Quick Attack and then use Steel Wing!" Ash said surprising Brock.
"Oh no Geodude dodge it!" Brock shouted.
But it was too late with breakneck speed Pidgeotto zooms towards Geodude with her wings glowing and slams into the rock type sending it into the ground.
"Geodude no!" Brock said.
When the dust cleared Geodude can be seen on its back with swirls in its eyes.
"G-Geodude is unable to battle Pidgeotto is the winner." The Referee stuttered.
"Alright great job Pidgeotto!" Ash shouted causing the bird Pokemon to blush at his praise.
"Geodude return." Brock said recalling his Pokemon.
"Great job Ash." Cody said.
"Well done you certainly caught me off guard but the battle's not over yet go Onix!" Brock said before throwing another Pokemon.
Out came a giant Pokemon with a snake-like body made of stone.
"Alright Pidgeotto you did now return " Ash said before recalling his flying type.
"Alright Pikachu your turn." Ash said with Pikachu nodding before running onto the field.
Normally I'd criticize you for using an electric type but something is telling me not to underestimate it now Onix use Tackle!" Brock said as his Pokemon charged at Pikachu.
"Pikachu dodge with Agility then use Iron Tail!" Ash commanded.
With his enhanced speed Pikachu dodges the tackle before successfully hitting Onix with his glowing tail.
"Oh no Onix can you still battle?" Brock questioned in concern before getting a nod from Onix "then use Bind!" He said as Onix made another charge at Pikachu.
"Pikachu dodge and finish this with an Iron Tail" Ash said.
Pikachu once again avoids Onix's attack and slams his tail on Onix's head knocking it down.
"Onix!" Brock shouted.
The dust settles to show Onix on its side Swirls in its side.
"Onix is unable to battle the of the match is Ash Ketchum from Pallet Town!" The ref said getting a smile from Ash.
"Alright we did it Pikachu!" Ash happily as he hugged Pikachu.
"Well done Ash you've beaten me fair and square so I'm proud to award you the Boulder Badge." Brock said handing Ash the Badge.
"Alright I got the Boulder Badge!" Ash said with Pikachu doing a victory sign with his fingers.
"Great job Ash now it's my turn." Cody said before stepping into the battlefield.
"Alright then same rules apply now go Graveler!" Brock said calling out his Pokemon.
"Alright Beedrill go!" Cody bringing out his bug type.
"Alright Graveler use Rollout!" Brock said.
Graveler starts rolling towards Beedrill.
"Beedrill dodge and use Stun Spore!" Cody said.
Beedrill avoids Graveler and releases a brown powder paralyzing Graveler.
"Oh no!" Brock said.
"Now Beedrill use Brick Break!" Cody said.
With one of its stinger Beedrill slams into Graveler effectively knocking it out.
"Graveler is unable to battle the winner is Beedrill!" The Ref said.
"Alright go Cody!" Ash cheered as Brock recalled his Pokemon.
"Well this is exciting now go Ryhorn!" Brock said bringing out his second Pokemon.
"Beedrill return." Cody said recalling his bug type "now Riolu it's all you." He said as Riolu jumped onto the field.
"Ryhorn use Horn Attack!" Brock said as Ryhorn charged at Riolu.
"Riolu dodge and use Force Palm!" Cody said.
Dodging the horn Riolu placed his paw on Ryhorn before sending his opponent back with Force Palm.
"Uh oh Ryhorn quick use Horn Drill!" Brock said.
Ryhorn charges at Riolu with its horn spinning like a drill.
"Riolu dodge and use Focus Blast!" Cody commanded.
Once again Riolu dodges the moves before launching a Blue sphere of energy that hits Ryhorn which successfully knock it out.
"Ryhorn is unable to battle the winner is Cody Andrews of Pallet Town." The Ref said.
"Alright great job Riolu!" Cody said hugging Riolu.
"Great job Cody here's your Badge." Brock said handing Cody the Boulder Badge.
"Thanks you're an awesome opponent Brock." Cody said.
"Thanks but to be honest I want to be Pokemon Breeder but I can't leave because I have to take care of my brothers and sisters if you two can continue my dream for me." Brock said.
"Brock. You go follow your own dreams." A familiar voice said.
"Flint!" Ash said surprised.
To their surprise Flint removes his beard and beanie to reveal what looks like an older version of Brock.
"My Father." Brock said shocking everyone.
"Your Father!" Ash and Cody said shocked.
"It's time I started taking care of my family. You go fulfill your dreams and mine." Flint said.
"First, there are some things I have to tell you." Brock said.
"After all these years I understand how you must feel about me so I want you to get everything off your chest." Flint said before adopting a confused look as Brock handed him a thread and a needle.
Ash and Cody look on in amusement as Brock started telling his Father how to take care of his brothers and sisters.
Later on the road.
"Hey guys, are you sure it's okay if I go with you on your Pokemon journey?" Brock questioned while now wearing a Blue backpack.
"Sure the more the merrier I always say." Ash said happy to have Brock with them.
"Btw who's that girl that's following us?" Brock questioned as he looked behind.
They look to see Misty trailing behind them.
"Don't forget about my bike, Ash Ketchum! I'm gonna follow you until you pay me back!" Misty shouted angrily.
"I know. I know! Pikachu, Cody, Riolu let's try to lose her." Ash said as he took off running with Cody, Riolu, Pikachu following him.
"Wait up, Ash and Cody!" Brock said running to catch up to his friends with Misty giving chase while shouting at them.
