After winning the Boulder Badge and gaining a new traveling companion named Brock our heroes continue on their journey what surprises await our heroes today.
We see our heroes walking up towards a mountain.
"Mount Moon. Doesn't the name sound romantic?" Misty questioned.
"You definitely have a weird definition of romantic." Cody said getting a glare from Misty.
"People say that a huge meteor crashed into the mountain back in prehistoric times." Brock said.
"A meteor?" Ash questioned.
"Is it really true?" Misty asked.
"It wouldn't be called Mt. Moon if it wasn't true." Cody said.
"The meteor is called the Moon Stone." Brock said.
"Now that's romantic.." Misty said.
"Again weird definition of romantic." Cody said.
(Suddenly, everyone could hear a scream)
"Sounds like someone is in trouble." Ash said before running towards the direction of the scream with his friends following him.
As they come to a stop they see that the scream came from a man being attacked by a colony of Bat-like Pokemon.
"Those are Zubat." Cody said as Ash pulled out his Pokedex.
Zubat, flying Pokemon with supersonic powers. Zubat live in caves and hate to fly outside in daylight.
"That guy needs help!" Ash said putting his Pokedex away before turning to Pikachu "Pikachu use Thunderbolt." He said.
Nodding his head Pikachu's cheeks sparked before he launched the attack scaring the Zubat away.
"Great job Pikachu!" Ash complemented.
"Pikapi." Pikachu said with a smile.
Ash walks up to the man.
"Are you okay?" Ash questioned only to shout in surprise when the man to grab him in a hug.
"Wow! You guys were the greatest!" The man shout as he tightened his grip on Ash and Pikachu.
"Really! It was nothing!" Ash said his voice being muffled.
" I'm talking super fantabulistic! I mean, two thumbs up! Way up! The best rescue I've ever had!" The man shouted.
Before anything else could be said both he and Ash suddenly get shocked by Pikachu who had enough of being squished causing them both to fall down in pain.
"Well that had to hurt." Cody said.
"They say that man's best friend is a Pokemon, and with you two, I believe it." The man said as he got up and readjusted his comically large glasses.
"Oh. That's nice." Ash said nervously.
"I'm so moved! Such friendship I thought I'd never see when the Zubat began attacking me. I thought I was done for, but who should arrive? Two heroes, thanks to whom, I'm alive! I'M ALIVE! Thank you so much! Thank you!" the man said dramatically.
"You know the Zubat wouldn't have killed you." Cody said.
"He certainly doesn't look like the poetic type." Misty said.
The man grabs Ash's hands.
"Did I mention how grateful I am?" The man said.
"Stop being creepy!" Cody shouted.
The man ignores Cody and grabs Ash's hands.
"Did I mention how grateful I am?" the man questioned.
"Only about ten times." Cody muttered.
"anyway, why were the Zubat attacking you, mister?" Ash questioned only to back up when the man got in his face.
"Never call me mister! My name is Seymour. Seymour the Scientist. Knowledge. Research. I'm Seymour the Scientist!" The man now known as Seymour said while doing various silly poses.
"So why were those Zubat attacking you?" Cody questioned.
"Come with me, I'll show you." Seymour said as he guided them into the cave.
Unknown to our heroes that they were being watched by a mysterious Pokemon who had been observing them since Seymour was being attacked by the Zubat the Pokemon's eyes were mostly on Ash after it watched them walk into the cave it decided to follow them.
Inside the cave.
"See? The cave is all lit up inside. Somebody has strung these lights through the whole cave. But the Pokemon in this cave need the dark. These lights are upsetting them and making them confused." Seymour said explaining the lights.
"Which is probably why the Zubat left the cave and attacked you." Brock guessed.
"Look here. These Paras are planting their mushrooms everywhere." Seymour said.
"That's not normal." Cody said.
"And the hot lights are drying up these Sandshrew." Seymour continued.
Ash upon seeing this grabs his canteen and a bowl and brought them to the Sandshrew when he reached the little ground type he placed the bowl on the ground and poured the water into it.
"Here little one this should rehydrate you in no time." Ash said with a smile.
The little Mouse Pokemon stared at him for a second before reaching the bowl and began to drink the water.
"Wow such generosity." Seymour said in admiration.
"Yeah Ash has always been like that." Cody said.
"Anyway the lights are why I'm here. On patrol to protect the mountain from the troublemakers' attacks against these caves." Seymour said.
"Troublemakers? Why attack a cave?" Misty questioned.
"I'm afraid it's because of the Moon Stone." Seymour said with a frown.
"The Moon Stone?" Ash questioned.
"The Moon Stone is an awesome boulder, a million years old or even older. Deep in these caves the meteor hides, though no explorer has found the place of the legendary rock from space. We've studied it's fragments for many an hour, and discovered it increases a Pokemon's power. And that is why the attackers are here. They've come to take the Moon Stone, or so I fear." Seymour explained dramatically.
"I heard that certain Pokemon can evolve using the Moonstone." Cody said.
"Ever since I was a little boy, I've believed that Pokemon came to Earth from outer space." Seymour said confusing our heroes.
"Wait what?" Cody questioned.
"And where, you ask, is the spacecraft that brought them here? In this cave. It's the Moon Stone." Seymour said.
"It sure is an original theory." Misty said.
"But don't you see? It means that the Moon Stone belongs to the Pokemon. We humans must not take it from them!" Seymour said before grabbing hands.
"You agree with me, don't you?" He asked Ash who nodded nervously.
Suddenly a Pokemon hops past them it had a small pink body with pink ears with brown tips and little wings on its back finally in its hands was a small stone.
"It's a Clefairy." Ash said pulling out his Pokedex.
.Clefairy, the Fairy Pokemon. Its adorable behavior and cry make it highly popular. However, this cute Pokémon is rarely found.
"Wow it's rare to see one we're sure Lucky aren't we?." Cody questioned with a smile.
"It sure is." Ash said.
Suddenly the Clefairy let out a scream .
"Uh-oh sounds like trouble." Ash said before rushing to the direction Clefairy went with his friends following him.
With Clefairy she was trembling in fear as a familiar Cat-like Pokemon towered over her menacingly.
"Don't be scared of Meowth." Meowth said.
Our heroes arrived in time and spot Meowth.
"It's Meowth!" Ash said.
"Meowth! What are you doing here?" Meowth said in shock.
"Looking for troublemakers, like you!" Ash exclaimed.
Clefairy takes this chance to hide behind Cody's leg
"if Meowth is here then so is Team Rocket." Cody said.
"We gotta stop them before they cause anymore trouble." Brock said.
(Once again I'm skipping the Motto seriously it's annoying.)
"They sure are showoffs!" Seymour said.
"More like idiotic." Cody deadpanned which earned him glares from the trio.
"Don't you guys ever get tired of saying the same things over and over?" Ash questioned.
"You're just jealous, boy!" Jessie said.
"Because we won't let you join us." James said.
"Why would we ever want to join you idiots?" Cody questioned making the trio mad.
"You put the lights in this cave! It's your fault the Pokemon who live here are confused!" Brock yelled.
"What a shame." Jessie said sarcastically.
" How will we ever forgive ourselves?" James said mockingly.
"We wanna get our hands on the Moon Stone so we can power up our Pokemon with it!" Meowth said.
"With the Moon Stone in our hands, nothing will stop us!" Jessie exclaimed clenching a fist.
Ash and Cody looked at them with deadpanned expressions.
"Are you three really that stupid?" Cody questioned.
"What was that?" Jessie questioned angrily.
"The Moonstone won't work on your Pokemon." Ash said.
"What do you mean?" James said causing Cody to facepalm.
"Oh wow, you three really are that stupid." Cody said.
"The Moonstone will only work on certain Pokemon like Clefairy, Jigglypuff, Nidorina, and her male counterpart Nidorino your Pokemon won't benefit from it at all." Ash explained.
"Wow you're very knowledgeable about it." Seymour said impressed.
"Well we still want it." Jessie said.
"Well that's not happening." Ash said.
"You want a rock, take one of these, then get lost!" Brock demanded motioning to the rocks next to him.
"Get lost? How rude." Jessie said.
"Let's teach him manners." James said.
Before anyone did anything a figure jumped out of its hiding place and stood in front of Ash growling at Team Rocket.
The Pokemon was a quadruped, mammalian Pokémon with a dark blue to black body covered in white fur. It has a ruff around its neck and chest and a tuft on the top of its head adorned with a single blue-black oval. It has a feline face with almond-shaped, red eyes, a scythe-like tail, and a crescent-shaped horn on the side of its head. Its broad feet are equipped with three claws each, and dewclaw-like spikes protrude from the heels of its hind legs and the elbows of its front legs.
"No way its an Absol." Ash said in shock as he pulled out his Pokedex.
Absol, the disaster Pokemon. It senses coming disasters and appears before people only to warn them of impending danger.
"what's that? I've never never seen a Pokemon like that before." James said.
"Let's nab it!" Meowth said.
"Not on your life!" Cody said as he Ash, and Brock pulled out their Pokeballs.
Ash turns to Misty.
"Keep an eye on Seymour and Clefairy. Make a run for it when you get the chance." Ash said getting a nod from Misty.
"Ready or not! Koffing/Ekans!" Jessie and James said together as they through out their signature Pokemon.
"Spearow let's go!" Cody shouted as he called out his flying type.
"Butterfree, I choose you!" Ash said bringing out his Bug type.
"Here we go!" Brock said throwing his Pokeball and out came a familiar Bat-like Pokemon.
"Whoa, a Zubat!" Ash exclaimed in surprise.
"I captured it just as we entered the cave." Brock said.
"Let's focus." Cody said As the battle began.
"Koffing, Smog attack!" James commanded.
Obeying his Master the Poison type launched a large amount of poisonous gas at our heroes.
"Butterfree, Whirlwind, now!" Ash said.
"Combine your whirlwind with Butterfree's." Cody said.
Flying side by side both Spearow and Butterfree Launched a powerful burst of air blowing away Koffing's attack.
"Whats this?" James questioned.
"Did they not listen." Cody said.
"Now's our chance!" Misty told Seymour as they made a break for it with Clefairy following them.
"Spearow use Tackle ." Cody commanded.
Spearow charges at Koffing.
"You use Tackle back Koffing." James said.
Koffing charges at Spearow causing them both to collide making them push each other back..
"Ekans use Bite." Jessie commanded.
Ekans charges forward with his mouth open Spearow managed to dodged, but Butterfree wasnt so lucky.
"Butterfree hang in there." Ash said in worry.
Unbeknownst to our heroes while the battle continued Meowth had snuck out in pursuit of Misty.
"Ekans take down that bug!" Jessie yelled.
The poison type lunged at Butterfree but before he could reach it something burst from the ground and slammed into him sending him flying.
"What the!?" Jessie exclaimed in shock.
Standing in front of Ash was a familiar Pokemon.
"A Sandshrew?" Ash questioned as it turned to him and smiled.
"Ash I think that's the Sandshrew you gave water to." Cody deduced.
"Wow you came to help us that's awesome." Ash said getting a smile from the little Mouse Pokemon.
Seeing that Team Rocket were distracted Brock took the opportunity to attack.
"Go Zubat, Supersonic!." Brock said.
Zubat launched a sonic black that messed with Ekans and Koffing's senses causing them to attack each other.
"Ekans! Koffing!" Jessie screamed.
"What's the matter with you weaklings?" James questioned in a panic.
"Ekans and Koffing are getting all confused!" Brock said.
"Butterfree, Whirlwind, now! Blow them all out of the cave!" Ash commanded.
"You too Spearow!" Cody said.
Flapping their wings both Pokemon blast Team Rocket down a cavern.
"It's time Team Rocket blasted off!" James said as they fell.
"You may have run this round, but we'll be back!" Jessie declared before disappearing into the darkness.
"We did it! Yeah!" Ash said before fist bumping Brock and Cody.
"Great job!" Cody said.
"Excellent teamwork!" Brock said.
"Wait, aren't we missing someone?" Ash questioned.
"Yeah, something's missing." Brock said.
After a second their eyes widen.
"Where's Meowth?" They questioned before rushing to where Misty and Seymour went.
Outside the cave.
Clefairy is seen hopping out of the cave entrance.
"Oh no, Clefairy's running away!" Misty said in concern before giving chase.
Before Clefairy could get far Meowth jumps in front of her.
"Meowth's got you now!" Meowth said.
Scared out of her mind Clefairy jumped off the rock bridge and landed on Misty causing her and Seymour to fall into the water below with Meowth landing on a rock.
"Alright! Give Meowth that Moon Stone!" Meowth demanded showing off his claws.
"Meowth, I'm sure we can be reasonable about this!" Seymour said nervously.
"No, we can't!" Meowth said as he pounced.
"Not so fast, Meowth!" Misty shouted before throwing a Pokeball into the water and released a Starfish-like Pokemon with a brown and gold body and a red gem in the middle.
"Staryu, Swift attack!" Misty commanded.
Obeying its Trainer Staryu launched a barrage of small stars at Meowth knocking him back.
"Water Gun, Staryu!" Misty said.
Staryu launches a blast of water into Meowth's open mouth making inflate like a Balloon until he's spent blasting off when the water started spewing out.
"Bye, Meowth! Have a nice drip!" Misty said before recalling Staryu.
"Hey! Is everybody alright?" Ash questioned as he, Cody, Brock, Pikachu, and Riolu reached them along with Absol and Sandshrew.
"We won't be bothered by Meowth anymore thanks to Misty the mighty." Misty bragged.
"Great job and all but Mighty is not the word I'd use to describe you." Cody said earning him a glare from Misty.
Later as the sun began to set.
"Hey Brock did you make that Pokemon Food yourself?" Ash questioned.
"Yep Made from my own secret recipe. The ingredients are specially blended for each Pokemon." Brock said as he fed his Zubat.
Curious Ash grabs a piece and hands it to Butterfree who eats it with a gusto.
"Well Butterfree sure seems to like it." Cody said.
"I've been developing it for years. I keep improving on the recipe. I'll make a batch for Pikachu." Brock said.
"Sure thanks." Ash said.
With Pikachu, Riolu, Sandshrew, Absol, and Clefairy.
Pokemon Translator on.
"So Absol what's a Pokemon from Hoenn doing in Kanto?" Pikachu questioned.
"Well I've heard lots of good things about Trainers from my Memma so I decided to find one for myself however none of the Trainers in Hoenn interested me so I decided to come here to Kanto I then came here to Mt. Moon to wait for a Trainer to show up unfortunately I got the same results as back home." Absol said.
"None of the Trainers interested you?" Riolu questioned.
"Yeah so far none of the Trainers I saw met my expectations especially this one Human with brown hair all he did was brag about himself it was annoying." Absol said with a growl before clearing her throat.
Anyway I thought I'd have to search elsewhere but then I saw your group and found that the raven-haired one Ash I believe he's called intrigued me so I decided to follow which brought me to your battle Team Rocket." Absol said.
"Ah I see and I know who your talking about." Pikachu said angrily.
"You do?" Riolu questioned.
"Yeah his name is Gary Oak the Grandson of Professor Oak and he's the most arrogant, obnoxious, and annoying I've ever had the displeasure of meeting." Pikachu said.
"Wow sounds like you don't like him." Sandshrew commented.
"You don't know the half of it he's always picking on Ash saying he's better than him, he's always bragging that he's number one just because he's Professor Oak's Grandson, and he treats Ash like trash and always plays mean pranks on Ash like this one time when Ash and I were playing Gary tricked us into disturbing a nest of Beedrill!" Pikachu said furiously.
"What! But that's extremely dangerous!?" Absol said in shock.
"I know Ash had almost died that day we were just lucky that some of the Pokemon from the corral came to our rescue or Ash wouldn't be here today." Pikachu said.
"Alright I officially don't like this Gary Oak." Riolu said.
"Same here." Sandshrew said.
"I'm definitely glad I deemed him unworthy." Absol said.
Pikachu turned to Clefairy.
"Sorry about that Clefairy I just get really angry when Gary's mentioned." Pikachu said apologetically.
"It's alright but it sounds like this Gary is not a good Human." Clefairy said.
"He's not anyway about that Moonstone of yours do you mind if we can see the big Moonstone? it would mean a lot to Seymour." Pikachu Questioned.
"Sure I don't mind it's the least I can do after you all saved me." Clefairy said with a smile.
"Great let's go then." Pikachu said before heading to Ash.
Pokemon Translator Off.
"What's up Pikachu?" Ash questioned.
"I think he wants us to follow them." Cody said.
"hen let's go!" Ash said as they give chase.
Inside the cave.
"Pikachu, where on Earth are you taking us?" Ash questioned.
"It seems that we're going deeper into the Mountain." Cody observed.
After an hour of walking they eventually reach their destination.
"It's another cave!" Ash said.
It's then they see what Clefairy wanted to show them.
"Wow...!" Ash said in amazement.
In front of them was a giant stone laying under a giant hole in the ceiling.
"It's the core of the Moon Stone!" Seymour said equally amazed.
"It's amazing." Cody said.
"So the Moon Stone legend is true!" Brock said.
Ash then noticed Clefairy moving towards the stone.
"Look! Clefairy's doing something!" He said catching his friend's attention.
When Clefairy reached the giant stone she places her Moonstone in front of it causing it to glow along with more Moonstones forming a circle soon more Clefairy appeared.
"There are so many of them!" Misty said.
One of the Clefairy steps up and greets the group.
"I think its saying hello." Ash guessed.
The Clefairy then begin to dance around the Moonstone.
"Guys I think they're preying to the Moonstone." Ash said.
"Is it because the Moon Stone fell from the heavens?" Seymour questioned.
"It's possible." Cody said.
"Outer space! Pokemon and the human race will ride the Moon Stone into space! First to the moon, then to Mars, then together to the stars!"
"Stars? That's our cue!" A familiar voice said.
Our heroes turn to see Team Rocket standing on the Moonstone.
"You three idiots again." Cody said annoyed.
"You guys don't know when to quit!" Ash said.
Seymour walks forward..
"You keep away from the Moon Stone or else!" He demanded as his legs shook in fear.
"Or else?" James questioned unimpressed.
"The Moon Stone belongs to the Clefairy, not to you troublemakers! Leave this cave at once!" Seymour demanded nervously.
"What's that unusual sound?" James questioned sarcastically.
"His knees are shaking." Jessie said mockingly.
"Sounds like a wimp!" Meowth insulted..
"I'll show you!" Seymour shouted before charging at Team Rocket.
"Don't! Seymour!" Ash exclaimed.
Suddenly Meowth tripped Seymour causing his glasses to fall off.
"Ha! Did you have a nice trip?" Meowth said before suddenly feeling a chill go down his spine he turns to see Cody standing behind him with a cold glare on his face.
"You just made a BIG mistake." He said before grabbing Meowth by the head and tossed him causing him to slam into Jessie and James.
"That's what you get you mangy furrball!" Cody yelled angrily.
"Whoa that was unexpected." Brock said.
"You get used to it." Ash said knowing how Cody reacts to bullying before turning his attention back to Team Rocket who managed to get back up.
"That wasn't fair!" He said.
"All's fair in a Pokemon match, boy." Jessie said as she and James pulled out their Pokeballs.
"Enough talk!" James said.
"agree! Let's go, Pikachu!" Ash said as Pikachu jumped in front of him.
"Riolu let's do this!" Cody said.
"Onix, let's go!" Brock said bringing out his Rock Snake Pokemon.
"Let's show them that size doesn't matter. Ekans, underground!" Jessie commanded.
"Koffing, Smokescreen!" James said.
As Ekans dives into the ground Koffing released a plume of smoke from its body causing ash and the others to cover their faces to avoid inhaling the smoke.
"Smoke won't stop us!" Ash said pulling out a Pokeball.
"Pidgeotto, I choose you!" He said calling out his flying type. "Pidgeotto, Whirlwind the smoke!" Ash commanded.
Obeying her trainer Pidgeotto flapped her wings blowing away the smoke only to find that Team Rocket disappeared along with the Moonstone.
"Oh no, Team Rocket stole the Moonstone!" Misty exclaimed.
"The match was just a trick so they could get away with it." Ash said.
Brock turned to his Onix.
"All right, Onix! Follow them underground!" Brock commanded.
Doing as he was told the rock type dove underground to chase after Team Rocket.
"Let's go!" Cody said as they ran out of the cave.
Outside the cave.
Team Rocket can be seen sliding down the Mountain with the Moonstone core.
"Nice guys always..." Jessie said.
"finish last!" James said finishing Jessie's sentence.
"We just went from worst to first! Heh!" Meowth said with a laugh.
Suddenly Onix pops out of the ground and stopped Team Rocket in their tracks.
"Got them!" Ash said.
"Nice work, Onix, grab them, now!" Brock said.
"Koffing, counterattack!" James said
Koffing slams into Onix sending him to the ground.
"Onix!" Brock shouted in concern.
Suddenly all the Clefairy came out of the hole Onix made with Seymour following them.
"What are the Clefairy and Seymour doing here?"
"Meowth! What's going on?" Meowth questioned.
The Clefairy then start waving their fingers back and forth.
Ash and Cody's eyes widen in shock realising what's about to happen.
"Guys take cover they're using Metronome!" Ash exclaimed in fear as he and his friends take cover.
As soon as our heroes took cover the Clefairy stopped wagging their fingers and began to glow before letting out a big explosion sending Team Rocket flying.
"Looks like Team Rocket is blasting off again!" They shouted before disappearing into the night sky.
"That was really close." Cody said.
"You got that right." Ash said.
"Look!" Misty said pointing to the sky.
They look to see pieces of the Moonstone falling from the sky before landing a few of the Clefairy causing them to evolve.
"Wow the Clefairy are evolving into Clefable." Ash said pulling out his Pokedex.
Clefable, an advanced form of Clefairy. These unique creatures are among the rarest Pokemon in the world.
"This is amazing." Misty said.
Later the Clefairy and Clefable resumed their dance.
"I've decided to live here with the Clefairy." Seymour said surprising our heroes.
"Are you sure Seymour?" Ash questioned
"Yeah It's been my life's dream to find the Moon Stone, someday I will travel to the stars with the Clefairy." Seymour explained.
"Alright then." Cody said.
The next day Outside the cave.
Our heroes are seen outside the cave saying their goodbyes to Seymour and the Clefairy and Clefable.
"So long, Seymour! Goodbye, Clefairy and Clefable!" Ash said.
Before our heroes got far three familiar Pokemon appeared in front of them.
"Huh? Clefairy, Absol, Sandshrew what are you three doing here?" Ash questioned.
Absol and Sandshrew walk up to Ash and both pawed at his Pokeballs.
"You two want to come with me?" Ash questioned.
They nodded smiling at him with a blush appearing on Absol's face.
Ash smiled.
"Alright then." Ash said tapping both of them with his Pokeballs successfully catching them.
"Great job Ash." Cody said before noticing Clefairy in front of him.
"Let me guess you want to come along as well?" Cody said getting a nod from the little Fairy Pokemon.
"Okay then." Cody said before catching Clefairy.
"Well let's head out." Ash said before he and his friends continued their trek.
Later down the road they came across a sign.
"This road leads to, Cerulean City." Brock said reading the sign not noticing the troubled look on Misty's face.
"there's something else scribbled here." He said.
"Really what's it say?" Ash questioned before taking a look at the sign only to growl angrily.
Gary was here. Ash is a loser.
"Don't worry Ash we'll show him." Cody said.
With that said they continued on their way.
