after earning two badges our heroes continue on the path to become Pokemon Masters.
We see Ash and co traveling down a road.
"So according to this guidebook the next Gym is in Vermilion City." Brock said.
"Cool though from what I hear the Vermilion City Gym Leader is very brutal." Cody said.
"Yeah we'll need to be careful with this one." Ash said.
"I have to say I'm surprised that you aren't letting those two Gym badges go to your head." Misty commented.
Cody gives her an annoyed look.
"Really Misty? You thought that because we earned two badges we'd I'm become cocky rookies." Cody said.
"Seriously Misty you can be very stupid sometimes." Andrew commented.
Misty glares at them.
"But seriously Misty we're not dumb we know that we still have a long way to go before we're even close to the level of more experienced Trainers." Ash said.
"Still though it doesn't hurt to at least be a little proud of themselves." Brock said.
"Brock is right but what we're really proud of is our Pokemon." Ash said.
"right they really worked hard and did amazingly." Cody said.
"still though it wouldn't hurt to get some more battling in." Ash said.
"true it would be a good thing for our Pokemon to get some more experience." Cody said.
"then what are we waiting for let's find someone to battle!" Ash shouted causing his friends to chuckle at his enthusiasm.
Later that day.
"Pidgeotto Quick Attack!" Ash shouted.
Pidgeotto glows briefly before dashing into his Rattata easily defeating it.
"Rattata is unable to battle! Pidgeotto wins! Ash is the victor!" Brock said.
"alright!" Ash cheered.
"way to go I believe that's your 10th win." Cody said.
Pidgeotto lands on Ash's outstretched arm.
"great job Pidgeotto I'm very proud of you." Ash said.
Pidgeotto smiles as a blush appears on her face.
"You're a really great Pokémon trainer." the young Trainer said.
"thanks but your Rattata is pretty strong." Ash said before showing the Trainer his badges.
"Wow you have two Badges!" the boy exclaimed in surprise.
"yep though getting them was not easy luckily our Pokemon worked really hard and it paid off." Ash said.
"I bet you could even beat A.J.!" the kid said.
"A.J.?" Ash questioned.
"He lives over there! A.J. trains savage Pokémon, he owns his own gym. He's never lost a single match." The kid said.
"wow he sounds really strong." Cody said.
"yeah why don't we check it out?" Ash questioned.
"sure." everyone said.
After an hour of walking our heroes find themselves infront of a big tent.
"Well this must be the place." Cody said.
"huh I wonder if he's home?" Ash questioned before a voice called out.
"Are you my next victim?" the voice questioned.
They turn to see a boy with green hair, he wore a red and black t-shirt, blue shorts, and red shoes.
"I take it you're A.J?" Cody questioned.
"that's right which one of you is going to challenge me?" A.J questioned.
"that would be me." Ash said.
"good then come on in." A.j said.
Our heroes soon find themselves in front of a small arena.
"Alright then shall we get started." A.J said.
"Of course." Ash said
"btw how many badges do you have?" A.j questioned.
A.j looks at them before he starts laughing.
"What's so funny?" Ash questioned.
"Did you buy those badges or steal em? Either that or you competed in some loser gyms. Where were they? Failure City or Wimpsville?" A.j said as he continued laughing.
Brock and Misty suddenly adopted angry scowls but before they could say anything Cody walks up to A.j and grabs him by the shirt and stares at him with a scary look on his face.
"apologize right now or I will hurt you so bad your descendents will feel it." He threatened causing A.j to sweat profusely.
"r-right I'm sorry I shouldn't have said that!" A.j said.
"Good now you have a battle to do." Cody said.
"r-right so how many Pokemon should we use?" A.j questioned.
"how about a 5 on 5 match." Ash suggested.
"sure that will work." A.j said.
Soon Ash and A.j were standing on opposite ends of the arena.
"you ready A.j?" Ash questioned pulling out a Pokeball.
"yup." A.j answered also pulling out a Pokeball.
"Go Fennekin!" Ash called out before throwing the Pokeball.
As soon as she came out of her Pokeball Fennekin immediately jumped into Ash's arms and started nuzzling him.
"whoa what Pokemon is that?" A.j questioned.
"That's a Fennekin a Pokemon new Trainers can get in the Kalos region." Cody explained.
"alright but I'll still win let's go Rattata!" A.j said bringing out the little Mouse Pokemon.
"The first move is ours Rattata use Tackle!" A.j said.
The little Mouse Pokemon rushes towards Fennekin With its head lowerd.
"Fennekin dodge it!" Ash said.
Fennekin moves out of the way avoiding Rattata's attack.
"Alright Fennekin use Quick Attack!" Ash called out.
Fennekin rushes at Rattata leaving a light trail behind her before slamming into the Mouse like Pokemon sending it crashing into the ground.
"Rattata get up and use Bite!" A.j said.
Rattata got up and once again charged at Fennekin this time with it's front teeth glowing.
"Fennekin dodge and use Iron tail!" Ash commanded.
Fennekin once again dodge Rattata's attack before slamming her tail which was covered in a bright light into the little Mouse's side sending it flying into a wall knocking it out.
"well looks like Rattata is unable to battle." Cody said.
"alright! Great job Fennekin!" Ash said.
Fennekin grins at the praise while a blush appears on her cheeks.
A.j recalls his Rattata.
"not bad but I'm not done yet." He said before pulling out ani Pokeball.
"let's go Beedrill!" He said bringing out his Bug type.
"a Beedrill huh? I know just who to use." Ash said.
"come on out Butterfree!" Ash said bringing out his Butterfly like Pokemon.
"A Bug type vs another Bug type this will be interesting." Brock said.
"why did it have to be bugs?" Misty asked in fear.
"Beedrill use Twin Needle!" A.j said.
Beedrill charges at Butterfree with its needle Like arms glowing.
"Butterfree dodge it and use Stun Spore!" Ash said.
Butterfree swerves to the left avoiding Beedrill's attack before flapping his wings causing an orange colored dust to fall on Beedrill causing it to go stiff.
"Stun Spore worked Beedrill is now paralyzed." Cody said.
"Now Butterfree use Tackle!" Ash said.
Butterfree charges at Beedrill before slamming into the Bug type sending it crashing onto the ground knocking it out.
"wow that was fast." Misty said.
After returning Beedrill to its Pokeball he silently pulls out another one.
"go fearow!" A.j said calling out the flying type.
"a Fearow huh that's impressive considering how hard they are to handle." Cody said.
"alright go Pidgeotto!" Ash said bringing out his female Bird Pokemon.
"Fearow use Drill Peck!" A.j commanded.
Fearow charges at his opponent his beak spinning like a drill .
"Pidgeotto dodge it!" Ash said.
Pidgeotto flies up narrowly avoided Fearow's attack.
"good job now use Steel wing!" Ash said.
With her wings emanating a metallic glow Pidgeotto rushed towards Fearow before slamming her wing into the other Bird Pokemon sending flying.
"Fearow shake it off and use Wing AttackAttack!" A.j said.
Shaking his head Fearow flew towards Pidgeotto with his wings giving off a faint glow.
"Pidgeotto dodge it and use Quick Attack!" Ash said.
Pidgeotto dodges Fearow's attack before rushing at him leaving behind a trail of light sending him to the ground knocking him out.
"that's 3 for 3 A.j just has two Pokemon left." Brock said.
"Great job Pidgeotto that was awesome!" Ash praised.
Pidgeotto smiles as a blush appears on her face.
A.j returns his flying type and pulls out another Pokeball.
"you're not bad but I'm not done yet go Scyther!" He said calling out another Bug type.
After returning Pidgeotto to her Pokeball Ash takes a look at A.j's next Pokemon.
"A Scyther huh this will be fun." Ash said pulling out another Pokeball.
"go Salazzle!" Ash said.
As soon as she appeared Salazzle immediately hugs Ash causing him to chuckle nervously.
"and there she goes again." Cody said.
"whoa where'd he get shiny Salazzle?" Brock questioned.
"it's a long story." Cody said.
"okay Scyther use Slash!" A.j said.
"Quick Salazzle dodge and use flame Burst!" Ash said.
Quickly evading Scyther's attack Salazzle launches a sphere of fire which hits Scyther in back injuring it.
"Scyther are you alright?" A.j questioned.
Shaking his head Scyther lets out a screech showing that he's still ready to battle.
"good now try slash one more time!" A.j said.
Scyther once again charges at Salazzle.
"quick Salazzle dodge and then hit him with one more Flame Burst!" Ash said.
Salazzle avoids Scyther's attack again before hitting him with another fireball this time knocking him out.
"That's another one down A.j is down to his last Pokemon." Cody said.
Calling back Scyther A.j looks towards his Sanshrew.
"well Sandshrew looks like it's up to you." A.j said.
"Shrew! (Right!)" Sandshrew said before running into the battlefield.
"good job Salazzle take a good rest." Ash said recalling Salazzle before turning to Pikachu.
"alright Pikachu it's all you." Ash said.
"pika! (got it!)" Pikachu said before jumping in front of Ash with his cheeks sparking.
"Sandshrew use Slash!" A.j said.
Sandshrew rushes towards Pikachu claws at the ready.
"Pikachu dodge and use Iron Tail!" Ash said.
Pikachu avoids Sandshrew's claws before slamming his tail into Sandshrew which was giving off a metallic glow sending him crashing into the ground.
"Sandshrew!" A.j said.
Sandshrew gets up wincing in pain.
"alright Sandshrew use Rollout!" A.j said.
Sandshrew curls into a ball before rolling towards Pikachu.
"dodge and finish with Iron Tail!" Ash said.
Pikachu avoids the attack before slamming his glowing tail into Sandshrew sending him crashing into the ground effectively knocking him out.
"and with that Ash wins the match." Cody said.
After checking on Sandshrew A.j walks up to Ash
"I got to say you're pretty tough." A.j said.
"same to you." Ash said.
"how about i show you how I train my Pokemon." A.j said.
"sure." Cody said.
Inside A.j's tent.
"here we are." A.j said.
Ash and co looks around to see that the Tent is filled with exercise equipment and a pool.
"wow." Everyone said.
"yep everyone one of my Pokemon work hard here." A j said.
Ash notices Sandshrew jump into the pool.
"uh A.j I don't think Sandshrew should be in the pool."
A.j chuckles.
"it's fine he does this everyday." A.j said
"he does?" Our heroes questioned.
"Yep." A.j said.
Cody then realized something.
"oh you're training him to be resistant to water type moves." He said.
"yep pretty clever huh?" A.j questioned.
"Yeah since ground types are weak to water type moves this is perfect training." Cody said.
"thanks for kind words unlike my other challengers who accused me of abusing my Pokemon." A.j said.
"well we can see that you care about your Pokemon quite a bit." Ash said.
"Right I never tell my Pokemon to do anything they don't want to do and I ask no more of my Pokemon then I do of myself. The very best." A.j said.
Ash then notices something.
"hey A.j what's that?" He questioned points to a device that resembles a straightjacket.
"Oh they're strength intensifiers." A.j said.B
"Who invented those things?" Brock questioned.
"I did It's my own secret weapon for unleashing a Pokémon's powers." A.j said.
Riolu then notices something rolling into the Tent before tugging at Cody's pant leg to get his attention.
"What is it Riolu?" Cody questioned.
Riolu points to a big rubber ball.
"huh, how'd that get here?" Cody questioned as he went to examine it.
Suddenly he heard three familiar voices.
"ow! James stop stepping on my foot." A female voice said.
"I will when you stop jabbing me with your elbow." James said.
"cool it you two we need to be quiet if we're going to nab Pikachu." A voice said with a Brooklyn accent.
Cody adopted an annoyed expression knowing full well who was inside the rubber ball.
"Ash come here for a second." He said.
Curious to what his friend wants Ash walks over to him.
"what do you need Cody?" He questioned.
"put your ear to this ball." Cody said.
Confused Ash does so for a second before adopting a similar annoyed expression.
"Pikachu use Thunderbolt on this ball." he said.
Nodding his head Pikachu charges up before launching a huge bolt of electricity at the ball causing it to explode.
"Team Rocket's blasting off again!" Team Rocket shouted as they soured through air.
"uh what just happened?" A.j questioned.
"nothing just dealing with some pests." Cody said with Ash, Pikachu, and Riolu nodding in agreement.
Later outside the Tent.
"well thanks for showing us around your Tent A.j." Cody said.
"no problem and I hope to see you both at the Pokemon League." A.j said.
"you can count on it." Ash said before he and his friends leave to continue on their Journey.
