Dream,

In the midst of a massive typhoon, lies a large ship in the treacherous waters.

The crew struggled to keep the ship from suffering any further damage from the storm. But their efforts were in vain as the ship's mast had snapped, people being thrown overboard, and their fate had been sealed when a large wave had risen up from the waves and collides with the ship.

Sending the ship to the bottom of the sea... Along with everyone in it,

End of the Dream

The moment the dream had ended. A young boy jolts up from his bed, raggedly breathing from the nightmare he had seen in his sleep.

Cold sweat ran down on his forehead, but he wipes it off with his hand and huffs out after calming himself down from his dream.

"Hey, Kid! You awake yet?!" A Voice called out, and the boy groans as he gets off of bed "I am! What do you want from me?!"

"Get over here! I need you to do some errands for me!" The voice ordered, and the boy simply replied, "Alright, Just give a minute!"

The boy went to his closet and started wearing his daily attire. Which consists of a light red shirt, a black hoodie, long grey jeans, a belt with two pistol holsters, a rifle strapped around his back.

After getting dressed, He goes out of his room and was greeted by a man wearing a white plain shirt, blue jeans, a black armband on his right arm, and a flask on his left hand.

"Took you long enough, Kid," The man said, and Albert simply clicked his tongue in response

"What do you want from me this time, Simuna?" He asked, and the man, now known as Simuna, drank from his flask again.

"The island has a few unwanted visitors again. Go sort it out and get me some groceries on the way back," Simuna ordered, and Albert clicked his tongue a bit, "Why not do you it yourself for once?"

"Are you telling me what to do, Kid?" Simuna asked,

Albert stayed silent for a moment, But he huffs out and stared directly towards his eyes "No, Sir,"

"Good, Now get to it already," Simuna said, and Albert goes out the door without sparing a single glance at him.

Village Docks

A Pirate ship is seen docked ashore with several pirates resupplying their ship with the stolen goods from the village. They also tied up a few of the townsfolk and took them hostage to ensure no one stops them from getting what they want.

As they celebrate their successful raid on the island. Most of the pirates were cheering along with their captain while the rest kept on hauling the goods into the ship.

"That's right, men! Keep it up, Once we're done here. It's off to the Grand Line!" The Pirate Captain said while his crew cheered "Yes, Captain!"

As the Pirate Captain kept on laughing, A hand was placed onto his shoulder and he turns around to see someone from behind. Who was none other than Albert, glaring at him with his Scarlet Eyes

"Who the hell are you?" He asked, but the response he got was a strong right hook that sent him crashing onto a pile of crates. Gaining the attention of his crew, as most resorted to drawing their sabers and guns and surrounded him.

"Captain!"

"You bastard!"

"Why did you hit our captain!"

Albert didn't respond to their questions, Instead, he sets his eyes on every pirate surrounding him and clenches both of his fists, cracking his knuckles at the pirates. Soon the pirates were getting impatience and one of them yelled out, "You damn brat!"

As he charges towards him. Albert sets his sights on the first pirate, quickly drew out one of his pistols, and shot the pirate into his chest, sending him flying to the ground.

The rest of the pirates saw what he did and all of them eagerly charged at him with a battle cry. But little did they know is that they're were charging in towards their demise.

Not Far from the Island

A small boat is seen sailing towards the calm waters of the once. Onboard the ship were two people.

The first one was wearing a white plain with three undone buttons by the collar, black trousers tucked inside black boots, a green haramaki, and next to him were three swords. Well known in the East Blue as Roronoa Zoro.

And the other person on the boat was wearing a red vest, blue shorts, a pair of sandals, and a straw hat on top of his head. Whose known as Monkey D. Luffy, A man who wants to be the next King of the Pirates.

The duo had been drifting throughout the seas for several hours after their departure with Coby and both were bored out of their minds. Until Luffy saw an island from the distance and smiles with glee.

"Hey, Zoro! Look!" He said, pointing at the Island

Zoro looked at the direction, where Luffy is pointing, and saw the island as well.

"Looks like we're about to reach land for once," Zoro said, sitting up from the boat

"Yeah! and maybe we could find a place to eat!" Luffy said in high spirits while Zoro sweatdrops at his Childish Behavior. But he has to agree since they haven't eaten anything for the past several hours of their departure.

But suddenly, Zoro spots a large pirate ship with a jolly roger flag docked onto the island and grabs one of his swords.

"Hey, Luffy. We better be careful when we get there," He advised and Luffy turns to him

"Really? Why?" Luffy asked, and looked at the direction where Zoro is looking and saw the pirate ship "Oh... That's why,"

The two kept on staring at the ship. Until it suddenly exploded into a ball of fire and begins to sink down to the depths of the seas while catching both pirates by surprise.

"What the?!" Zoro exclaimed,

"That ship just blew up!" Luffy shouted,

Once the ship had sunk down in the bottom of the sea. The duo glanced at each other then gulped for whatever lies in store for the two pirates.

Short Timeskip...

After the duo had arrived on the island. The two jumps out of the boat while the Swordsman pulls the boat ashore and looks at his surroundings.

"There's no one here," Luffy said, shifting his head left and right.

"But we better keep our guard up. There's no telling what lives on this island," Zoro advised, holding onto one of his swords.

Luffy somewhat agreed to him and looked at his surroundings once again. But when he turns to the left, he sees someone approaching them holding what looks like a pole on his right shoulder, wearing a fishing hat on his head, and holding a bucket on his left hand.

"Hey, Zoro. Someone's coming to us," Luffy said, pointing at the approaching

Zoro turned to Luffy's direction and the person Luffy was pointing at, was none other than a simple old fisherman with a bucket filled with bait and his fishing pole.

The latter soon stopped when he noticed the two, and questioned, "Excuse me, But are you new on this island by any chance?"

The duo glanced at each other for a moment then back to the fisherman

"Yeah," Luffy said, and Zoro nodded along with him.

"In that case, Greetings, My name is Manuel and I'm the Mayor of the Village not too far from here. I also welcome you to Dead Peak Island," Manuel greeted,

"Dead Peak Island?" Luffy questioned,

"Well, It's a bit complicated to say. But I'll make a brief explanation for you to understand, Dead Peak Island is named after the mountain that rests upon this island," The Mayor explained,

"But why was this island called after a mountain?" Zoro questioned, and the Mayor points towards a mountain to his left "Take a good look over there,"

Luffy and Zoro turned to the said mountain and it was indeed a very tall mountain.

"The name of the mountain is called Deadman's Peak, Rumour has it that most mountain hikers that attempt to scale the top, end up falling to their deaths at the very bottom. Hence where the name of the mountain comes from. my people and I have confirmed the rumors when we found several skeletons that have fallen to their demise," The mayor explained, "The skeletal remains were either hikers or maybe even daring pirates that sought to climb the mountain for treasure,"

"Really?! There's treasure up there?!" Luffy exclaimed cheerfully,

"That is rumor is actually true, Young Man" Manuel said, "But its whereabouts are located at the peak of the mountain itself and no one in the East Blue has claimed it for years to come,"

"So cool!" Luffy exclaimed,

"Hehehe, What a youthful attitude. How I envy you," Manuel said, "But enough about the mountain. How long are you two planning to stay on this island?"

"I don't know, Is there a place we can eat?" Luffy asked,

"Well if you follow me, Then I'll lead you to my village where a bar is established," Manuel said,

"Meat at last!" Luffy shouted as he was about to follow the mayor.

But he was stopped by Zoro momentarily.

"Wait, Luffy," Zoro ordered,

"Why, Zoro?" Luffy asked,

The swordsman steps forward while he holds onto one of his katanas.

"I've got a question I want to ask you," Zoro said,

"What is it?" Manuel asked,

"When we were about to dock on this island. We noticed a Pirate Ship blew up out of nowhere," Zoro explained, "Is there someone that keeps pirates out?"

"Why, Yes," Manuel replied, "It may be the Crimson Guardian's Work,"

"Crimson Guardian?" Zoro questioned,

"Whose that suppose to be?" Luffy asked,

"He's basically the protector of this island. When my people and I have trouble with several pirates on the island. We call upon his assistance in handling them properly," Manuel explained, "Since then, this island has been pirate-free for eight long years,"

"That explains how the pirate ship blew up," Zoro said,

"He's been fighting pirates for eight years? That's so cool!" Luffy exclaimed with stars on his eyes while the Mayor and Zoro sweatdrop at this,

"W-Well anyway, Let's get a move on. Just follow me and we will be there in a few minutes," Manuel said,

As the mayor acted as a guide to the duo. They've made to the village without Luffy or Zoro getting lost along the way.

After giving several directions to separate establishments of the village. The duo obviously picked the bar and ran there like no tomorrow.

Moments later...

The route was easy to follow through and both pirates made it to the bar with no problems whatsoever.

Luffy didn't hesitate to go to the counter and order a few pounds of meat while Zoro ordered some booze to drink in.

Then, they sat down on a nearby table and waited for their meal to be served.

Outside the Bar

Albert had just finished dealing with the pirates from before and he's currently holding a shack-sized sack of treasure that was claimed from the previous pirate ship with one hand and the other inside his pocket.

"This is really getting boring for me... I wish something new would happen today," Albert muttered in thought,

But luckily for him, He saw a particular ragged group of men entering a nearby bar with their Swords and Guns strapped around their waists.

Albert clicked his tongue once and puts down the treasure on the ground.

"Great, Another day with these rascals," He said, pulling out a western-like revolver from its holster and pulls down the hammer with his thumb.

Back to the Bar.

Luffy and Zoro finally got their meal served and both started chowing down on it like no tomorrow.

But in midst of this, A group of men entered the bar and approached the counter while the owner made a scowl at the said group.

"Can I help you, gentlemen?" The Owner asked,

"Yeah, A few barrels of your finest booze and we will leave without having any problems whatsoever," The leader of the group said,

"That can be arranged," The Owner said, "But you need to pay the bill before you leave my establishment,"

"What? Our boss has been fighting off pirates since before you made this shacky building into a bar," The Leader of the Group said, "I suggest you give us the barrels. Before you get into some serious trouble,"

"I am not afraid of any of you, You filthy bandit," The Owner said, with a glare, "This Island is well protected by the Crimson Guardian for eight long years. Compared to your leader, He is much safer to trust than some bandit whose greedy as he is arrogant,"

The Leader of the group got ticked off by the owner's insult. He pulled out his saber and cuts through the counter with it. Gaining Luffy and Zoro's attention.

"Don't you dare! Insult our leader, you old geezer," He said, "He is far greater than some lousy kid! In fact, He is ten times greater than any pirate of the East Blue! No pirate can best our leader in combat!"

Luffy got ticked off by that comment, stopped eating his meat, and stood up from his chair while Zoro notices and stared at him.

"What's going on here?" The Waitress asked, catching the owner and the bandits' attention.

"Well, Look at here. She's one fine looking lady," The Leader of the group leisurely said, causing the Waitress to take a few steps away from them,

"Get away from her," The Owner said, getting in between the group and the waitress.

Then, The Bandit smirks at this and removes the saber from the counter.

"You know what, Old man. I've changed my mind," He said, "If you hand her over to us. Then we'll let bygones be bygones,"

"If you think that I'll hand over my daughter to scum like you. Then you're dead wrong!" The owner yelled,

The Bandt's smirk turned into a scowl, lowers his saber, approaches the owner, and gives him one strong kick to the chest. Sending the latter crashing into the floor.

"Dad!" The Waitress shouted, tending to her father.

"Don't get cocky, Old man," The bandit said, "Otherwise, I would have killed you by now,"

"Dad! Are you all right?" The owner's daughter said while helping him up from his feet. She receives a nod from her father, then she glared at the bandits and steps in front of them, "If you're just going to cause trouble here. I suggest you leave and never come back!"

The bandits simply laughed at this while the leader of the group grabs her wrist and pulls her closer to him.

"You don't tell us what to do," He said, while the waitress tries to struggle away from his grip.

"Let go of her!" The Owner yelled, charging towards the bandits. But receives a punch in the face by another bandit.

"Dad!" His daughter screamed in concerned, struggling even more as she tried to tend to her father.

While the bandits laughed at this sight. They hear a gun being cocked from behind and a single gunshot was fired.

Everyone turned around and one of the bandits was twitching a few times then falls on the floor. Revealing a Crimson-haired boy aiming two revolvers towards the bandits.

"Who the hell are you?" The leader asked,

"Why don't you let the lady go before I pour some lead into you and your goons here," The Crimson-haired boy said,

"Mind your own business, Kid," The leader threatens, then pulls the waitress in front and holds her hostage with a gun barrel at her right temple, "Before someone gets hurt around here,"

The other bandits pulled out their blades and pistols while Luffy and Zoro waited for the right moment to interfere.

Moments of silence were brought upon the building and suddenly. The Crimson-haired boy smirks at the bandits.

"Will you risk your lives?" He asked,

"Huh?" The leader questioned in confusion along with the other bandits. As for Luffy, He somehow knows this far too well.

"You've drawn your pistol, yet you didn't pull the trigger," The Crimson-haired boy said, "Are you really going to risk your life?"

"Just what the hell are you talking about?" The leader asked while Luffy started making assumptions about the red-haired boy.

"Guns aren't for threats, Buddy. They're for actions," The Crimson-haired boy said, "And here's your sample!"

The red-haired boy immediately fires a single round and the bullet completely destroys the barrel of the gun and pierces through the bandit's chest without leaving a single gunshot wound behind. But it did cause him to scream in pain.

"If you're all thinking why a Bullet hole isn't shown in his chest. Then I'll explain it to you. The bullets, I use in these guns, are infused with a certain ingredient that maximizes penetration but minimizes lethality," The Crimson-haired boy explained, "Basically, if the bullet hits you. It deals internal damage without making a single bullet hole in your body,"

The other bandits tense up and ready themselves against the Crimson-haired boy.

"There are two choices in this situation. It's either you leave peacefully or..." He pulls the hammer back again and aims both guns at the bandits, "I force you to leave..."

The bandits were gritting their teeth as they clenched their sabers and pistols towards the boy. But soon, their leader sits up straight and glared towards the boy.

"You bastard! You'll regret this!" He yelled, "Kill him already!"

Two of his men charged towards the boy. But the latter simply smirked at this.

"Guess their no other way," The boy muttered,

Both tried to swing down their sabers towards him. But he twirls his pistols and uses the grip to deflect the blades away and delivers a spinning kick that sent both bandits crashing onto a table and a couple of chairs along the way.

Another bandit tried to charge towards him with his saber. But ends up getting shot by the chest and kicked back a few meters.

Two other bandits tried shooting their pistols at the boy. However, It resulted in the latter jump sideways and used a table as cover. Then pops out from cover and shot both bandits down by their chests.

The final bandit of the group had his arms trembling as he saw his comrades getting picked off with ease by this kid. His leader stands up from the floor with a scowl on his face.

"What are you waiting for?! Go get him!" He said, shoving the bandit towards the boy.

Unfortunately for the bandit, The boy kicks him out of the way and the leader took this opportunity to straight towards him with his saber up on his arms.

"DIE, YOU BASTARD!" He yelled,

The boy simply smirked at this, dropped the revolver on his right hand, and the latter suddenly grabbed the blade just before it was inches away from his face.

The leader, as well as Luffy and Zoro, were surprised by his reaction time and his hand wasn't bleeding when it came in contact with the edge of the saber.

The boy merely crushed the blade and dusted off every bit of metal on his hand.

"Well, that was boring..." He said, then approaches the leader,

"D-Don't come any closer!" The leader yelled, trying to keep his distance from the boy. But that fails miserably when the latter grabs him by the collar of his shirt and pulled him up close to the boy's face.

"Never. Come. Back." The boy said, then he tosses the leader straight towards the door and threw the rest of the bandits along with him,

Afterward, He dusts off his hands and turned to the owner of the bar.

"Are you alright?" He asked,

"We are. Thank you for helping us, Albert," The owner said, bowing his head in appreciation

"Yeah, we really owe you one," The owner's daughter said, following her father's example

"It's no big deal," Albert said, twisting his neck a few times, "I'm just doing my job that's all,"

Then he places a small poach of berries onto the counter.

"These are for the damages of the shop," Albert stated, then turns to the door, "I'll be going now,"

"Once again, We thank you for helping us," The owner said,

Albert nodded as his reply then left the bar, heads his way out the doors, and walked towards the marketplace to buy some groceries.

As for Luffy and Zoro. They were thoroughly impressed with everything they've seen that the Straw-hat captain had stars sparkling all over his eyes and around his face.

"That was so awesome!" Luffy exclaimed,

"If I have to guess. That must be that Crimson Guardian the old guy talked about. Those goons were nothing to him," Zoro said in mind,

Then Luffy approaches the owner and practically startled him and his daughter.

"Hey! Do you who that guy is?" Luffy asked,

"You mean Albert? Why everybody knows him. He's the Crimson Guardian of this island," The owner answered,

"Crimson Guardian? Isn't that what the old mayor guy talked about?" Luffy asked directly to Zoro,

"I think so, But now we know that his name," Zoro said, "We just don't know where to find him,"

"If you're looking for him. He actually lives in a house just up the mountain," The Owner's daughter said, "But you'll need a guide since that path is a bit steep to climb up to,"

"That's great, But we won't be needing one," Luffy said, then points towards the door, "I'm going up there myself,"

"You have quite a youthful attitude, Young man. But the mountain is also filled with dangerous predators. The reason why you'll need a guide is to keep those pests away while you hike all the up there,"

"It's okay, We're strong! I bet we can take'em on our own!" Luffy said enthusiastically, making the old owner chuckle at his response.

"You have quite the courage, Young man," The owner said, "But before you go, How will you pay for your meal?"

Luffy kept his cheery smile while his face started to sweat a bit along with Zoro as they remembered that their flat broke upon their arrival on the island.

Meanwhile, In the marketplace.

Albert was seen buying a few things from several vendors since he was ordered to buy some groceries for his Master.

The money he used is a couple of berries he got from the pirates.

The townsfolk of the island have gotten used to pirates invading them due to several rumors that the mountain containing several amounts of treasure that was left untouched for months or years even before Albert came to this island.

But no pirate has escaped the island which caused some of the pirates of the East Blue to have been avoiding this island ever since.

"Come back anytime, Albert!" The Vendor said,

"Thanks," Albert said, grabbing the bag of groceries and walked his way back to Simuna's house.

But along the way, He sighs as he glanced around the town and to see a few damaged houses and establishments due to the pirates making a ruckus earlier.

"Pirates... Always making trouble in peaceful villagers on the seas," Albert said in thought, "But I can't blame them. This IS the great pirate era,"

He then continued walking towards down the path on his way back to Simuna's house.

...

...

Until he heard distance screaming in front of him.

"Huh?" Albert looks in front of him and saw two people running away from the owner of the bar.

"COME BACK HERE!" The owner yelled, despite his old age. He's still able to catch up with those two.

Albert sighs at this sight, slowly put down the bags he's carrying, and cracked his knuckles as he readies his stance.

Once those two guys were closed to him. He goes in for a clothesline on both of them and pins them down on the ground.

As for the owner, He stopped when he saw Albert apprehending them but still kept his anger as glanced towards the two guys he was chasing.

"Albert!" The owner called out,

"That's the third time today. First were pirates, Second were bandits, now a couple of runaways?" Albert muttered, "What's next?"

"Hey, You're that guy who fought against those bandits," The straw hat guy said,

"I am, and you and your friend here are in big trouble," Albert said, "And for the record, I have a name, you know,"

"Really? What's your name then?" The straw hat guy asked, causing Albert to sweatdrop a bit,

"The name is Albert, and Crimson Guardian of Deadpeak Island," Albert introduced,

"Okay, My name is Luffy and I'm going to be King of the Pirates," The straw hat guy, now known as Luffy, said plainly while Albert's eyes twitched a bit.

"Really? In other words, You're a pirate?" Albert questioned,

"Yep!" Luffy said with a bit of enthusiasm,

"Is that so? Then where are your crewmates?" Albert asked,

"Oh, He's the only crewmate I have so far," Luffy said, pointing at the green-haired guy next to him

Albert glances at the former and immediately recognizes him at first glance.

"Wait a minute, Aren't you the 'Pirate Hunter' Roronoa Zoro?" Albert questioned,

"Yeah, and what's it to you?" Zoro asked with bits of hostility in his tone,

Albert then smirked at this, gets off from them, and stands up straight while Luffy and Zoro began to stand up as well.

"How much do these guys owe you?" Albert asked, directly to the bar owner,

"Why those two ruffians owe me 10 ten thousand berries!" The Owner yelled, pointing his fingers directly towards Luffy and Zoro,

"If that's the case, I want to put their bill on my tab for me," Albert said, making the owner gape at this,

"Why the sudden change of heart?" Zoro asked, frowning towards Albert

"Because I've dealt with enough problems today and I don't want to deal with you and some nameless pirate I've never heard of," Albert said, bluntly

"Hey!" Luffy exclaimed in anger,

"And besides, I'm in a hurry. So it's best to settle this matter peacefully than to resort to violence," Albert finished, then grabbed the bags from the ground, "That's all and I'll be on my way,"

Albert then went past the two, paid the bill with the bar owner, and leaves without another word to the owner or the pirates.

"He seems nice," Luffy said,

"Yeah, but the way on how he uses those guns earlier. I'd say at least impressed," Zoro said, dusting off his shirt a couple of times.

Luffy did the same, then he suddenly gets an idea in his mind.

"Hey, I know!" Luffy yelled out loud, "Let's have him join our crew!"

"Seriously, Luffy?" Zoro questioned, "What makes you think, He'll just join the crew?"

"I'll go ask him," Luffy said, running after Albert while Zoro sighs at this and followed his captain in hopes that nothing bad happens.

Meanwhile...

The bandits from before had made it back in camp with several bruises on their faces and empty-handed.

The leader of the group went inside a large tent and inside it was a man sharpening two swords with a whetstone.

"Boss..." The leader called out, weakly.

"Did you get what I asked for?" The boss asked,

"N-No... It's all because of that Crimson Bastard," The leader said, "The boys and I were badly injured before we could get the chance to get a barrel much less a glass of sake from geezer," The leader explained, then proceeded in prostrating position, "Please forgive me,"

"It's fine. and besides," The boss stands up and swings his newly sharpened sword a few times, "I already have a plan to get rid of that bastard for good,"

"Really, Boss?" The leader asked,

"A storm is coming," The boss muttered, then turns towards his subordinate and points his sword towards him, "And when it comes. We'll have that Devil's head on a platter,"
