If you've seen/read That Time I Reincarnated a Slime, then you should recognize who Great Sage is. Other than that, enjoy!
Notice: Conditions met for first seal release. Would you like to proceed?
She didn't know what was going on, just that right now she was in the most danger she had ever been in.
Yes! Release the first seal!
Notice: First seal release. Power level restrict lock set at ten percent. Local form set to 'human'.
Miku didn't know what the voice was, she just knew it was important somehow.
Something deep inside pulsed, and it felt like a power she didn't know she had was being released.
The slime villain attempting to take over her body got a nasty wake up call as the girl absorbed his quirk into herself. Her body dissolved into a pink slime and started counterattacking.
"What...what the hell is this? What are you doing?!" he demanded.
Miku felt like she was outside herself at that moment.
"Notice...use of Predator Skill is successful. Release of Origin Form approved."
Her voice was almost robotic. Her eyes went from green to a magenta color, and her expression was flat.
"There's no need to worry? Why? For I am here!" announced a voice. That was the point he noticed something unusual was going on.
The pink slime appeared to be draining the villain he was attempting to capture.
"What is going on here?" asked All Might.
The pink slime paused in whatever it was doing. The villain was so freaked out he willingly let All Might capture him.
The other slime reformed into a teenage girl about fourteen or so. Her eyes were pinkish in color, almost identical to the shade of the slime form she took earlier. Her hair was a shade of green, though in this lighting it almost looked teal.
She looked fine, but there was something about her gaze that made All Might very wary of her. It wasn't anything dangerous, but his very soul was warning him this figure was far stronger than she looked. Too strong, in fact.
"Who are you?" asked All Might. He barely paid the villain any mind.
"Notice: In response to this girl's desire, I was awakened. Her designation is Midoriya Miku," said the girl rather monotone. Something seemed to pulse, and she briefly faltered. All Might didn't know whether to catch her or not. She collapsed to her knees, her expression dazed. When she blinked a few times, the magenta coloring of her eyes shifted to a more normal looking verdant green. The second she registered the pro hero and the villain, her expression turned to shock.
"All...Might?" she said in disbelief.
The pro hero had the distinct feeling things were going to get very interesting.
Miku didn't know what had happened when she blacked out. Just that All Might had captured the villain and she was too weak to follow him. On the plus side she got his autograph, but in the aftermath of her quirk awakening she could barely register it.
The problem was that she had no idea what her quirk was. She originally thought it was 'slime' like the villain that attacked her, but when she accidentally attracted the remote much like her mother would and later replicated Bakugo's explosive power (much to his shock and fury), she was no longer sure.
Until she had an idea of what she could do, she couldn't really register her quirk properly.
She did notice it seemed to be semi-sentient, and she kept having strange dreams...or rather visions.
They all seemed to revolve around a slime monster that wouldn't look out of place of a game she loved.
Another thing she found weird...she felt strangely comfortable in her slime form, which almost looked like an angel slime from the games, minus the wings and halo. It was a magenta color, and was rather round. Her mother Inko had a few scares the first few days since her quirk awakened.
She still didn't know what that voice was or what it meant by seal though.
For the next few months, most of her classmates started avoiding her...mostly because it became quickly apparent she had the ability to 'steal' their quirks after she successfully used Bakugo's own against him. The teachers were in a similar bind...they had not so discreetly promoted Bakugo over Midoriya and constantly put her dreams of being a hero down among the other students.
It was to the point she had become almost clinically depressed over the matter.
No one expected her to be a late bloomer or that she would have such an amazing (if slightly terrifying) quirk.
All too soon, the exams to determine who would attend the Hero Course at UA began. Miku could only hope her strange quirk was ready for it.
Some time later...
"Next up, Midoriya Miku. Quirk: unknown," said Nezu.
"Unknown?" said Present Mic.
"According to her file, she's a late bloomer," said Recovery Girl. "I doubt the girl's had much chance to explore what it's fully capable of, so no designation has been given. There have also been...other...factors."
"Other factors?" said Eraserhead.
"The girl's quirk appears to be able to copy other quirks," said Recovery Girl bluntly. "And it's not a temporary copy either."
"That could be extremely dangerous," said Eraserhead. A quirk that could potentially copy other quirks permanently? That was a nightmare waiting to happen if she turned into a villain.
"In any case she passed the exams with flying colors, and even demonstrated a proper hero mindset. I see no reason why we shouldn't accept Miss Midoriya so long as we keep an eye on her newly awakened quirk," said Nezu.
"Her classmates could take it poorly she can borrow their own powers," said Eraserhead sensibly.
"We'll have to deal with it, when the time comes," said Nezu.
She would either become an amazing hero, or the worst villain in history.
Miku wanted to groan...of course she ended up in the same class as Bakugo.
The second he registered her presence, he let out a rather terrifying snarl.
"YOU!"
Hearing that, the rest of the class turned to look.
"Good morning to you, Bakugo," she sighed in exasperation.
"Fucking faker! How did you get into this class?"
"For the last time, my quirk is not a fake and it's not my fault what happened. Everyone knows late bloomers don't have the best control over their quirks. And honestly, half of that was your fault with how often you showed it off in class," she countered annoyed.
"Um...do you two know each other?" asked one girl.
"We've been in the same class since preschool, our mothers are friends," said Midoriya tiredly. "He's just pissed because I accidentally took some of the spotlight off him being the next person to get into UA after my quirk woke up so late and it ended up being just as impressive as his."
Seeing how pissed Bakugo was and the tired exasperation of Miku, the rest of the class said nothing.
"Settle down," said a voice. It was their homeroom teacher. The teacher shot Bakugo a firm look, and he reluctantly sat back down in his seat. "We not here to play games... you're here to either become heroes or wash out."
As they all filed out to one of the practice fields, Bakugo kept giving Miku nasty glares.
It soon became apparent why, after she revealed she had accidentally copied Ochako's "Zero Gravity" quirk after she managed to rescue her during the exams.
"How did you do that?" asked Ochako, shocked and confused.
Miku sighed.
"The reason Bakugo is so pissed at me being here and why he called me a faker is because of this. I can permanently copy quirks. And because I'm not sure if that's the extent of my ability, I haven't been able to give it a proper name yet," said Miku. She glared at Bakugo. "And again, if you hadn't used that stupid quirk of yours on me while the teachers pretended not to notice what was really going on, I never would have copied it in the first place. You are still an ass."
Bakugo growled at her.
"It doesn't steal our quirks, does it?" asked Yaoyorozu nervously.
"Not as far as I can tell. It just seems to make a copy of it, though that's as much as I've been able to tell at this point."
Miku resigned herself to the fact that her new classmates were equally as wary of her as her old ones were.
Fortunately she was still liked better than the tiny pest known as Mineta.
Miku tried to keep a low profile and for the most part succeeded. She even made a few tentative friends out of the deal.
She could be forgiven for nearly giving out a fan girl squeal upon learning All Might was a new Teacher, and that he would be teaching their class. However that delight turned to horror when the very first lesson she had with him resulted in her being paired against Bakugo.
She could have told him what a horrible idea that was. Bakugo's animosity towards her had only gotten worse when she accidentally copied his quirk. So giving him an excuse to attack her full-force with the only limitation being no permanent maiming or killing was just asking for trouble.
She couldn't adequately warn Ochako of the disaster that was about to come. She merely sighed and prepared to do damage control once his hot-headed temper got the better of him.
And it did, in spectacular fashion. Realizing that their plan had been successful and that he was about to lose to Miku of all people, Bakugo's temper flared. Without even thinking straight, he sent a rather large blast at Miku...and to an extent, Ochako and Tenya who were in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Miku didn't know what made her react. Maybe it was the ceiling tiles, loosened by their plan to get the fake bomb. Maybe it was pure instinct.
Either way her body dissolved into pink slime...which then proceeded to absorb the falling debris before it could hit the other two. They were safely ensconced in a pink bubble until the rubble settled.
"What the fuck, Deku?" demanded Bakugo.
He suddenly had to dodge as the parts she didn't absorb were thrown in his general direction.
Ochako was shaky, as was Tenya.
"That was completely uncalled for! The exercise was over!" he scolded.
"Yeah, what were you thinking?!" said Ochako angrily. "You nearly hit us!"
"For that matter, is Midoriya alright?" asked Tenya, observing the twisty pink slime.
"All cool!" she replied, still in slime form. "I'll turn back to normal once the teacher gets here though...his hot temper is too fickle to trust."
All Might came and gave Bakugo a disappointed look. Bakugo huffed angrily, and stomped out of the building...what was left of it.
Miku went from a mass of slime into a pink blob that was decidedly cute. She was tired and didn't feel like switching back to human just yet.
Since she had already copied Ochako's ability, the other girl carried her back to where the others were.
"Is that Midoriya?" said Momo.
The slime in Ochako's hands gave an odd wave.
"She's cute!" said Mina.
"Thanks?" said Miku, who wasn't sure how to take that. She was a blob of pink slime after all.
"How did you get that form?" asked Momo, curious. The other girls descended on her with interest.
"The day my quirk first woke up, I was being attacked by a villain with a slime quirk. I guess in desperation I copied it, but when I went to use it I turned into this," said Miku. "It takes some energy to change back, and dealing with all that debris was exhausting."
"Thanks for that," said Ochako. "That was really scary... it was bad enough nearly passing out in the entrance exam, but this time was worse because it was an enclosed area. There's no way my quirk could have stopped all of that."
"Not a problem. We're friends, aren't we?" said Miku.
At least the other girls weren't as scared of her, and even the boys were starting to open up to her. After all, she hadn't hesitated to save her fellow classmates from Bakugo's arrogance.
Unnoticed by the students, All Might was giving her a speculative look. While he did have an idea of who to pass his quirk to, he was still open to other options. And outside the day he first met Midoriya, he hadn't sensed that terrifying presence again.
Perhaps Midoriya could be a candidate to become the next symbol of peace.
