"Go! Go! Go! Go!" Keats cheered loudly as he held Rotom in his hands and pointed the camera side forward.
In front of Keats was an Alolan variant of a Raichu, standing upright on the sidewalk near a handrail with its tail pointing upward and its small right paw on the side of it, holding its tail like a board for extreme sports. Jumping into the air, Raichu proceeded to land on its tail as it floated and begun to kick its leg backwards like a skateboarder attempting to build up speed as it hovered.
"Okay! Now do a kickflip!" Keats exclaimed as Raichu floated forward.
Hopping with its tail underneath its feet, Raichu spun its tail around in a full rotation while riding it, performing a skater trick. While still floating in midair, the Electric and Psychic landed its tail against the handrail and proceeded to grind on it once again.
"Yoooo!" Keats shouted as he continued to record. "Thank goodness Rotom white balanced the shot this time!" He thought as Rotom floated out of Keats' hands.
"Keatzzzz, why are we watching this Raichu?" Rotom questioned as Keats walked over to the Raichu. "And why do I have to do all the work with making the shots look decent?" It thought, unenthusiastically.
"That was awesome!" Keats said with an enthusiastic tone towards the floating Raichu as Rotom followed behind him.
"And now he's ignoring me... Again..." Rotom thought with annoyance.
"Rai-rai!" Raichu said with a cocky expression as it stood on its tail. "Chuchu-rai!" It said as it pointed over towards a building wall.
"Huh?" Keats mumbled as Raichu as it jumped down to the ground and walked over to a vending machine filled with sodas and energy drinks. "Oh hey, that vending machine has "Seviper Venom" energy drinks and "Jigglypuff Cotton Candy" soda." He said as he walked over to it, standing next to Raichu. "I'm more of a "Gengar Grape" soda fan, honestly." He said with a smile towards Raichu.
"Raichu-chu!" Raichu said as it pointed at the Seviper Venoms energy drink in the machine as Keats looked at Rotom.
"Raichu says that it would like a Zzzzeviper Venom." Rotom translated as Keats looked around in his pockets for change.
Finding a coin, Keats put it in the slot and proceeded to press down on a button as a Seviper Venom can dropped into the chute of the vending machine. Reaching into the chute, Raichu pulled out the drink and proceeded to try and open it by pulling on the tab but struggled from the lack of nails on its hands.
"Raiiiii..." Raichu said as it continued to fail to pop open the drink can.
"Give it here." Keats said while kneeling down as the Electric and Psychic mouse-like Pokémon handed over the drink.
Pulling the tab with his finger, Keats popped open the Seviper Venom energy drink and handed it back to Raichu. With a delighted expression, Raichu proceeded to sip the energy drink as Keats watched.
"You're going to want to be careful with those things. The amount of sugar in one of those is enough to put you in a coma." Keats said as he stood up. "And I should know, I've passed out drinking three of those at once and hitting my head from slipping on some I spilt on the floor." He said as he looked at Rotom.
"The "slipping and falling" seems more like the reason than the drink..." Rotom thought with an exasperated expression.
"Raichu!" Raichu said as its body sparked up slightly and it put down its drink. "Chuchu!" The mouse-like Pokémon said as it pointed towards Rotom.
Hopping back up onto its tail to ride on, Raichu proceeded to jump in the air and do another kickflip, performing another skateboard style trick. Then immediately following it up with a full rotation of its tail, spinning in the air.
"Huh." Keats said with a mildly impressed tone as he lightly clapped his hands.
"I think it wanted me to record that, zzzzt." Rotom said towards Keats.
"Must want a sponsorship." Keats muttered as Raichu stopped doing more stunts and looked at Keats.
"Raichu-rairai?" Raichu said towards Keats.
"Translation?" Keats asked towards Rotom.
"It'zzzz asking what a "sponsorship" is." Rotom said.
"A sponsorship is one of those things where a company will pay you to promote a product." Keats explained. "More often than not, the companies tend to just pay you in free junk instead of cash. Depends on what you get with the deal, sometimes you get gypped." He said as he turned towards Rotom.
"There a zzzztory to this?" Rotom said.
"Actually no, but I knew a guy who knew a guy's grandma that won a sponsorship for a brand of bread back home. She had a Mr. Mime who went insane from the amount of bread it had to eat as a part of the deal and it started wildly attacking people with baguettes. I got wacked in the head pretty hard that day, but I got the other half of the loaf that was left on the ground so, it evened out." Keats said, recounting a story from a very odd day.
"Raichu-chu?" Raichu said as it pointed at the energy drink can.
"It's asking about if it'zzzz possible to get a sponsorship for energy drinks and sodas." Rotom said.
"Yeah, I don't see why not." Keats said with a shrug. "Two videos ain't going to get you one though." He said as he scratched his face.
"Raichu! Raichu!" Raichu said as its body glowed with a blue aura.
"That looks familiar." Keats said as it recognized Raichu's body glowing.
As a similar blue tint went around the can of Seviper Venom energy drink, the beverage floated up to Raichu's paws as it held it in both hands. Chugging the remainder of the can, Raichu proceeded to telekinetically throw it in the direction of a set of garbage cans, landing in a regular black bin.
"Wrong one." Keats said as he walked over to the trash, pulled out the Seviper Venom energy drink and put it in the blue recycling bin next to it. "But hey, you know "Psychic." That's cool, bet your trainer likes that." He said as he looked at his hands to see if anything was on them from the trash.
"Rai-rai?" Raichu said with a confused tone.
"Oh?" Rotom said as Keats' eyes shifted towards it. "It said it doesn't have a trainer." the phone Pokémon said.
"Huh?" Keats said as it looked at the floating mouse-like Pokémon. "Wait, you're by yourself?" He asked as the Raichu nodded. "But I thought Pikachu's only evolve into Raichu's through Thunder Stones?... Or is that different here too?" Keats said before questioning if anything else was different in Alola.
"Raichuzzzz in Alola evolve the same way they do in any other region. This one must have found a Thunder Stone somewhere when it was a Pikachu." Rotom explained as the phone Pokémon and Keats looked at Raichu. "They are also known for ingesting high amounts of sugar as part of their diet." The phone Pokémon explained.
"And it got into skateboarding, too." Keats muttered.
"Raichus in Alola also tend to be compared to zzzzurferzzzz due to the tropical environment and the fact they ride on their board-like tails." Rotom said as it flashed an image of an Alolan Raichu floating above the ocean.
"Raichu!" Raichu said with a bothered expression. "Chuchu-rairai." It continued as Keats looked at Rotom.
"It said it doesn't like zzzzurfing." Rotom explained.
"Yeah, me neither." Keats said with a nod of agreement. "So, you like skateboarding more?" He asked towards the Raichu.
"Raichu!" Raichu said with a smile as it floated over to the nearby handrail and balanced on it. "Chu-rairai!" The mouse-like Pokémon said.
"And it's saying?" Keats asked towards Rotom.
"It's zzzzaying it wants a sponsorship through doing tricks." Rotom translated.
"Want to be the next star on PokéCast, huh?" Keats said with a smirk towards Raichu. "Well, hard to do that without someone to record- ohhhhh..." He said until he came to a realization. "You want me to catch you now so we can post some videos of you." Keats said as he pointed at Raichu and then at himself and Rotom.
"Rai!" Raichu said with a nod.
"Oh! This izzzz perfect! Raichu is a Psychic type!" Rotom said with a smile on its screen.
Pulling out one of his regular Pokéballs from his pockets, Keats lightly tossed the ball at Raichu as it bounced off the mouse-like Pokémon. Digitizing the Alolan variant into energy, the ball landed on the ground and shook three times before finally stopping, signifying a capture.
"Raichu - Alolan Form has been registered to your PokéDex!" Rotom exclaimed as Keats caught a new Pokémon.
"Awesome!" Keats said as he picked up the ball. "Now that we got a Psychic type Pokémon, we can- huh?" He said until Rotom quickly moved in front of Keats, interrupting him.
"Now pick which one of your Pokémon to be zzzzent home." Rotom said as an image of seven icons of Keats' Pokémon appeared on its screen.
"Wha?" Keats mumbled in confusion as he put the ball in his pocket.
"All trainers are required to only hold six Pokémon in ballzzzz in their current possession. When you catch a new Pokémon with a full team already on hand, one must be sent to your "box."' Rotom said as its face returned to its screen before shifting back to the icons.
"They go inside a box?" Keats questioned with an odd face. "And I thought the balls looked uncomfortable." He thought as he continued to look at the screen.
"The term is a hypothetical for the place they will stay while you have them in rotation. In this case, your sister's ranch in Ecruteak City. You have to pick one of your team to be sent back if want to carry around Raichu, zzzzt." Rotom said as its screen returned once more and then back to the icons again.
"Hmmmmm..." Keats mumbled as he looked at the screen, scratching his beard as he contemplated who to send back. "I need to find Imani and Raichu is the best chance I have right now of doing that. I don't want to send back Timburr or Pineco, they're too useful to me. And if I am stuck here in the tropics, I need some aquatic Pokémon like Cloyster and Dragalge... So, my options are Stunky and Druddigon." He thought. "I think he's a bit curious as to how my place is doing with that weirdo messing around with my stuff, so I'll send back Stunky." Keats said as he picked Stunky's icon.
Pressing down on it, Keats looked down at the pocket where he puts his Pokéballs and felt it suddenly get lighter. A glow bursting from his shorts, the chubby trainer noticed that Stunky's ball had disappeared from his possession.
"...What was that?" Keats questioned as Rotom's face returned.
"When you zzzzend back the Pokémon, its ball will teleport to the desired location of where you store them." Rotom explained as Keats scratched his head.
"Soooo... Stunky's back at Marie and Adams?" Keats asked.
"Correct, zzzzt." Rotom replied.
"Well... Alright then." Keats said with a shrug as he walked away after pulling Raichu's ball back out.
"Finally got our handzzzz on a Psychic type Pokemon." Rotom said with a smile on its screen.
"And it's not psychotic." Keats said with a disgruntled face.
"You're just zzzzaying that because Oranguru wouldn't let you catch it." Rotom said with a smug tone.
"Damn food thief..." Keats thought with annoyance.
"Best bet now izzzz to just call back out Raichu and begin to look for Imani and Sableye." Rotom said.
"Yeah, I should-... Wait..." Keats said as he cocked back his arm to call back out Raichu until he suddenly stopped, looking forward.
"What'zzzz- hey!" Rotom said as the phone Pokémon turned in the same direction as Keats and noticed someone familiar had just docked in the nearby pier.
Getting off his jet ski was Bevin as he jumped onto the pier and begun to look around as he pulled out a pair of binoculars from behind him. Cracking his neck for a moment, he lifted the binoculars up towards his eyes and looked around at the ocean.
"Where's my Wailord? After that explosion I saw out there, she went underwater, and I haven't seen her since." Bevin thought as he looked around at the sea. "Grrrr..." He grumbled in frustration.
"It's that guy!" Keats exclaimed as he pointed at Bevin.
"Whoa, wait Keatzzzz!" Rotom shouted as the pierced flutist made a face of confusion as he begun to turn around.
"Guh!" Keats muttered as he ducked down behind the handrail as Bevin looked behind him.
"Hmmm?" Bevin mumbled as he looked around, assuming that loud statement was directed at him as he failed to spot Keats and Rotom. "Must've been for someone else." He said quietly to himself as he turned back around to see if he could spot his Wailord.
"That was close..." Keats said as he popped up from behind the handrail.
"That guy left uzzzz behind there to be attacked by those Bruxish." Rotom whispered.
"I know that. I was on the damn boat. Quit stating the obvious." Keats said with annoyance towards Rotom.
"What'zzzz he doing?" Rotom said as it directed Keats to focus on Bevin.
"Nothing..." Bevin said to himself as he put the binoculars behind him and then pulled out his PokéFlute. "No sign of that guy either. Oh well, probably gone. Better get to work." He thought as he walked away from the dock into the city.
"He's walking away..." Keats said. "Let's follow him." He continued towards Rotom.
"Good thinking, zzzzt." Rotom said as it floated behind Keats as he followed after him.
As Bevin walked down the street, he looked around at the various people populating Malie City as he failed to notice Keats and Rotom coming up behind him. Heading towards a high traffic area, Bevin examined the nearby alleys to see which one seemed the deepest and most secluded as Keats and Rotom watched on.
"That'll do." Bevin said quietly as he smirked before walking into an alley.
"The hell is he up to?" Keats thought as he peered into the alleyway.
"You'll do just fine for today. Snorlax, come on out!" Bevin said as he took out a Pokéball and opened it.
Emerging from the light of the ball was a massive Pokémon with blue fur, a white pair of feet, slanted eyes and a rounded belly. Looking on, Keats recognized the Pokémon immediately as a Snorlax.
"Snooooooorlaaaax." Snorlax said as it stretched.
"Yooooo..." Keats said quietly as he saw Bevin's Snorlax. "Neat but it belongs to a douchebag." He thought with a raised eyebrow.
"Snorlax, there's an intersection outside this alleyway. Go lay down in the center and give me a minute to come out with the flute." Bevin explained with crossed arms and a greedy look in his eyes.
"...Is he...?" Keats said with a suspicious tone.
"...I think he izzzz..." Rotom said with a similar tone as Keats.
"Once a big enough crowd appears, we'll make so much cash. Hehehe..." Bevin said with a malicious chuckle.
'"Scammer."' Keats and Rotom thought simultaneously.
With Snorlax nodding in compliance, Bevin turned around with his flute out and checking it to be ready to play it. Upon noticing him approaching, Keats stood with his back against the wall as Bevin turned the corner. Not noticing him immediately, Keats stuck his foot out as Bevin tripped over it, falling onto his chest and causing his flute to fly out of his hand.
"Garguh! Uggh, what the heck- guh!" Bevin complained as he turned around and looked up to notice Keats, towering over the downed flutist with his arms crossed.
"Remember me, dirtbag?" Keats said with an angry smirk.
"You're alive?!" Bevin said in surprise as he looked up from the ground.
"So you did leave uzzzz out there to die!" Rotom exclaimed in an enraged tone as it floated down to meet Bevin at eye level.
"Guh..." Bevin grunted. "Damn it, I said too much!" He thought.
"I knew something was fishy about that Turtonator in the middle of the road back on Melemele Island!" Keats said as he pointed at Bevin.
"Oh shut up!" Bevin said as he swatted Keats hand away and got up from the ground. "Who do you think you are getting confrontational with me?!" He said angrily towards Keats.
"I'm the guy you tried to drown, you phony!" Keats screamed as Bevin angrily picked up his flute from the ground.
"I am no phony! I'm an actual musician!" Bevin exclaimed back at Keats.
"A guy running around with a PokéFlute and owning big Pokémon that block roads definitely screams "phony!"' Keats replied in agitation as he stepped back and pointed at Bevin's Snorlax in the alleyway.
'"Shadow Ball!"' Bevin yelled towards the alley as Keats made a confused expression.
"What's a "Shadow Ba-aaaalll!"' Keats said confused until he turned his head and noticed something.
As he looked at the Snorlax, the enormous Normal type Pokémon had begun to charge up a black orb in-between both of its hands. Hurling it at Keats, the chubby trainer made a face of terror as he jumped out of the way from the attack as the projectile impacted with the road.
"Are you nuts?!" Keats screamed as he looked up from the ground.
"No, I'm just getting very tired of you." Bevin said with an angry look in his eyes as his Snorlax stomped out of the alleyway.
"Keatzzzz!" Rotom exclaimed as the phone Pokémon floated over to the husky framed trainer getting back to his feet.
"Guess this is another way battles can be initiated?" Keats said with annoyance as he pulled out a Pokéball. "Timburr, you're on call!" He exclaimed as he opened the ball and out came his wooden log carrying mole-like Pokémon.
"Timburr!" Timburr said as he looked up at his massive opponent.
"Hey, look! A battle!" A random passerby said as Keats and Bevin turned their heads.
"Yeah, two guys are going at it." Another stranger said as another small crowd formed around Keats and Bevin.
"Tch..." Bevin buttered in annoyance as he clicked his tongue. "I wanted a crowd for my flute, not for a battle..." He thought.
"I never got around to changing everyone's moves so I just got to make do with what we got..." Keats thought. "Timburr, use "Poison Jab!"' He ordered as Timburr dropped his log and his right hand started to glow purple.
"Tiiiiim!" Timburr exclaimed as the Fighting type Pokémon rushed at Snorlax.
Extending his arm for a strike, Timburr jabbed Snorlax in its massive belly. Standing completely still, Snorlax looked down at Timburr with zero facial expression, unaffected by the Poison type attack.
"Snorlax, use "Thunder Punch!"' Bevin shouted as Snorlax made an angered expression and raised its round left arm.
"Snoooooor!" Snorlax exclaimed as lightning begun to be generated on its left hand.
Swinging it downward, Snorlax struck Timburr in the head with the Electric type attack and causing smoke to form from the impact. As the dust cleared, Timburr's eyes were swirled and was unconscious as Keats looked on in shock.
"Ti-Timburr!" Keats screamed in disbelief.
"One hit, zzzzt!" Rotom shouted in surprise.
"Ha!" Bevin laughed as he caught Keats and Rotoms attention. "My Pokémon are far stronger than yours will ever be!" He said with a mocking tone as Keats walked over to Timburrs log and put it on Timburr.
"Grrr..." Keats grumbled as he pulled out Timburrs ball and recalled him and his log. "...Not good..." He thought with a sweat drop running down the side of his face as he pulled out another Pokéball as he walked back, creating distance. "Cloyster, you're on call!" Keats said as he opened a ball and out came his Water and Ice type.
"Cloyster!" Cloyster exclaimed as she landed on the ground, cracking the road.
"Cloyster, use "Ice Shard!"' Keats ordered as Cloyster begun to generate white energy between her top two spikes as an icicle formed.
"Clooooy-ster!" Cloyster said as she launched her icicle attack towards Snorlax.
"Hold your ground!" Bevin shouted as Snorlax stomped its large feet and stood completely still.
"Snoooooor." Snorlax muttered as the "Ice Shard" hit the Normal type in the stomach.
Turning into a clear haze on impact, Snorlax had barely moved as, just like before with Timburr, Cloysters attack barely did any damage. Reaching its right hand down to its large belly, Snorlax brushed off any leftover pieces of ice from Cloysters attack as Keats, Rotom and Cloyster stared in surprise.
"What?!" Keats screamed in surprise.
"Use "Shadow Ball!"' Bevin ordered as Snorlax put its hands together and charged up another black orb.
"Snorlax!" Snorlax roared as the large Normal type hurled another "Shadow Ball" attack at Cloyster.
"Cloyster, use "Withdraw!"' Keats said as Cloyster closed her shell to raise her defenses as the orb hit her.
"Cloyster!" Cloyster muttered in pain upon being hit by the attack and then opening up her shell.
"Not good! Not good! Not good!" Keats thought frantically. "Cloyster, use "Tackle!"' He ordered as Cloyster used her strength to jump into the air.
Using the weight of her body, Cloyster bashed into Snorlax, causing the obese giant to take a few steps back from the force. As Keats looked on with a smile for a moment, his expression changed to one of concern as Bevin was unphased by Snorlax getting pushed back.
"So, a little bit of damage and you think I'm on the ropes?" Bevin said as he folded his arms.
"...That's the norm... Isn't it?" Keats said nervously.
"Snorlax, use "Rest."' Bevin instructed as Snorlax proceeded to breath in heavily.
"Snoooooor..." Snorlax said as it exhaled as its body started to glow a clear aura of pink and white. "Snooor... Laaaax..." It yawned as it was still standing.
"It fell asleep?" Keats said, confused.
'"Rest" causezzzz the Pokémon to go to sleep but also heals it from damage that it took." Rotom explained towards Keats.
"What?!" Keats screamed. "So it just undid everything!?" He exclaimed in shock.
"No, thizzzz could work to our advantage!" Rotom said. "If it's asleep, it can't attack!" The phone Pokémon explained.
"Oh really?!" Keats said, wide-eyed.
"Normally." Bevin said, catching Keats and Rotom's attention once again. "...Unless the Pokémon knows this move." He said with a malicious smirk. "Snorlax! "Sleep Talk!"' Bevin shouted as his sleeping Snorlax had begun to glow a light blue aura.
"Snooooorr!" Snorlax exclaimed in its sleep as its left hand begun to spark with lightning again.
"Oh no!" Rotom shouted as Keats looked at the floating phone. "Zzzzleep Talk" makes it so a Pokémon that's currently asleep can still be able to use a random move that it knows!" It explained as Keats made a shocked expression.
"Why are all these moves so complicated?!" Keats complained mentally. "Cloyster, use "Withdraw!"' He shouted as Cloyster quickly closed her shell again to boost her defenses further.
"Snoooor!" Snorlax screamed as it punched Cloyster's body with "Thunder Punch" in its sleep.
"Cloooooyyy!" Cloyster exclaimed in pain as she was hit with a super effective attack. "...Ster..." She said as she opened her shell and revealed her eyes were now swirling, falling into unconsciousness.
"Crap!" Keats grunted in shock.
"Come on then! Send out another!" Bevin said with a malicious look in his eyes. "Maybe Imani will give me a discount on my next kickup when I decimate this fool." He thought with dark intent.
"This guy is too tough, he's even stronger than Carter was... There's no way I can beat him right now..." Keats thought, acknowledging the strength of his opponents Pokémon.
"Keatzzzz, what are we going to do?" Rotom whispered.
"Druddigon, you're on call!" Keats said as he pulled out Druddigon's Ultra Ball and called out his Dragon type Pokémon.
"Druddigon!" Druddigon bellowed as he landed in front of Keats, facing the still sleeping Snorlax.
"What'zzzz the plan?" Rotom asked.
"...Hope he has something weaker..." Keats thought nervously. "Druddigon, use "Roar!"' He ordered as Druddigon breathed in.
"Drruuuuuuuudd!" Druddigon screamed as his "Roar" caused Snorlax to digitize into energy and get sent back into Bevin's Pokéball in his pocket.
"Now we see if he has something weaker than-..." Keats said with intrigue until he fell quiet as he noticed Bevin had his arms folded once again and with a smug expression on his face.
Emerging from his pocket was the light from another Pokéball. Now in front of Bevin was a large green turtle-like Pokémon on all fours with a brown underbelly and legs, a green and grey turtle shell with a tree and a set of rocks on its back and its green head having two rock-like spikes sticking out of the sides.
"Teerrrrraaa!" The Pokémon roared.
"I got it, zzzzt!" Rotom said as it scanned the new creature that belonged to Bevin. '"Torterra, the Continent Pokémon, a Grass and Ground type. Some Pokémon are born on a Torterra's back and spend their entire life there. Ancient people imagined that beneath the ground, a gigantic Torterra dwelled."' The phone Pokémon said, reading off the PokéDex for Torterra.
"Is Dragon stronger than Grass or Ground types?" Keats questioned.
"...No, zzzzt." Rotom said in a bothered tone.
"...Great..." Keats muttered.
"Torterra, use "Earthquake!"' Bevin exclaimed as Torterra lifted up one of its legs.
"Toooorrr!" Torterra bellowed.
"Oh crap! Not that move again!" Keats said as he recognized the attack.
"Teerrrraaa!" Torterra screamed as it slammed its raised leg down and causes the ground to shake and crack from the force, causing Keats and the small crowd to stumble and nearly fall over.
"Druududududud!" Druddigon mumbled as his body suddenly shook in pain. "Drudu...Drud..." The Dragon type said until suddenly falling forward and passing out, his eyes swirling.
"Wah!?" Keats exclaimed in surprise as Druddigon was knocked out in one hit.
"Hahahaha!" Bevin laughed as Keats has now lost three Pokémon and Bevin has yet to lose a single one. "You should have minded your business. You want to keep going? Then send out your next weakling Pokémon!" He said maliciously.
"Pineco is still knocked out because I never got around using a Revive on her and all I have left is Dragalge and Raichu." Keats thought as he tried to think of a plan as he recalled Druddigon. "Only option I have left." He said as he moved his hand.
"What are you going to do, zzzzt?" Rotom said as Keats stretched down towards his pocket and then shifted his hand towards one of his messenger bags. "...That's not where your Pokéballs are?" The phone Pokémon thought as it noticed Keats rummaging around his bags.
"What's next you large chump!?" Bevin said with a violent grin as he stepped further slightly.
"A little closer..." Keats thought as he bit his lip.
"No matter what you try, you ain't going to defeat me in a battle!" Bevin said loudly.
"You're on call!" Keats exclaimed as he pulled out something from his bag. "Concrete shoe!" He said as he whipped out a sneaker filled with concrete and threw it directly at Bevin's head.
"You're actually uzzzzing it?!" Rotom yelled.
"Huh- blug!" Bevin grunted until he noticed the shoe flying at him and hitting him directly in the forehead.
'"Huh?"' The people in the crowd muttered in confusion.
"Terra?" Torterra muttered in surprise as it turned its head and saw its trainer now on the ground, clutching his face.
"Argh! What the heck!?" Bevin said as stumbled back to his feet and noticed the sneaker. "Did you seriously just throw a shoe at me?! Are you- hey!" He said as he picked up the shoe and then looked in Keats' direction.
"Bye!" Keats yelled as he turned around and ran towards the crowd of people behind him, jumping past the random strangers and running away with Rotom floating behind him.
"What the- get back here!" Bevin screamed as he hopped onto the back of his Torterra and rode on it, chasing after Keats and Rotom.
"That was your bezzzzt plan!?" Rotom screamed at Keats as he ran down the streets of Malie City.
"I couldn't think of anything!" Keats shouted as Bevin tailed behind him on his Torterra.
"Thizzzz is going to go against your win-loss record!" Rotom exclaimed.
"Who cares?! We have to live through this first!" Keats screamed angrily as he looked back.
"Torterra, use "Razor Leaf!"' Bevin screamed from atop his Torterra.
"Terrrraa!" Torterra shouted as a series of sharp, crescent-shaped leaves had emerged from its tree on its back and went flying at Keats and Rotom.
"Whahaaah!" Keats muttered in a panic as he and Rotom were running and ducking the bladed projectiles. "We gotta get out of here! Rotom, where's the woods?!" He screamed.
"Make the turn here, zzzzt! It will take us to Route 10!" Rotom said as it flashed a map image.
"Works for me!" Keats said as he and Rotom turned a corner and ran towards the woods with Bevin and his Torterra trailing behind.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Route 10, Ula'Ula Island, 4:45 p.m. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Riding on his Torterra, Bevin searched around the trail for Keats after the husky framed trainer and his floating phone companion had left the city. Hopping off his large Grass and Ground type, he looked around with an annoyed expression.
"Come out, you punk ass chump!" Bevin screamed loudly into the woods, unable to find Keats. "Son of a..." He muttered to himself as his Torterra looked around.
Aggravated, Bevin looked over at his hand and just remembered he was still holding the shoe filled with concrete. Making a disgusted and annoyed face, Bevin threw the shoe into the woods and turned back towards his Pokémon.
"We ain't got time for this." Bevin said as he pulled out a Pokéball and recalled his Torterra. "People saw my Snorlax and Torterra... But at least they didn't see my Turtonator. I can still con people with that." He thought as he walked back in the direction of the city as he pulled out his PokéFlute and checked it.
Unbeknownst to Bevin, as he waited for him to get further away, was Keats was holding onto a nearby tree branch with his arms and legs wrapped around it. Letting loose his legs, Keats was now swinging from the branch until he let go, landing on the ground and his feet.
"...Okay aaaannnnd..." Keats said as he popped his head out from behind the tree. "He's gone." He said as Rotom popped out of his pocket.
"Thank goodnezzzzzzzz." Rotom said as it looked on. "We're going to need to stay away from the city for a bit." The phone Pokemon said towards Keats.
"Yeah, I ain't going back to that place until I know that jackass isn't roaming around." Keats said as he walked into the woods.
"Where are you going, zzzzt?" Rotom questioned.
"To get that concrete filled shoe." Keats said as he picked up the sneaker and walked back over.
"...Why, zzzzt?" Rotom said, confused.
"Because these were limited editions." Keats said with a smirk on his face as he put the shoe away into his bags.
"Did you really need to-" Rotom said until an icon for a phone call popped up on its screen. "Marie'zzzz calling you." It said towards Keats as he raised an eyebrow.
"Well, better now than never for that update..." Keats said as he rubbed the back of his neck. "Put her on." He said as Rotom picked up the line and Marie appeared on the other end, in front of her computer for a video call. "Hey sis, how's the- huh?" Keats said until he noticed something unusual as he looked at his older sister.
On the screen, Marie was holding Keats' Stunky in her arms while next to her was Adam, holding a round and purple furred creature with long flat feet, large red eyes and a pair of white feelers on its head. Next to them, floating in the air, was a polygonal creature with a pink and teal blue colored body, hexagonal white eyes and a rectangular prism tail.
"...Uhhhh..." Keats said, visibly confused.
"Care to explain?" Marie said as she and Adam moved out of the way to show Keats another unknown creature.
Behind them was a very large blob-like creature that was staring at the ceiling. Sporting a series of black diamond-like designs around its center, it had tiny three fingered hands, red dot-like eyes, a set of puckered lips and two yellow feelers sticking out around its face like a moustache.
"...Uhhhhh..." Keats mumbled once again, unable to answer.
I remember my days of doing skateboarding stunts. Mostly the number of times I got yelled at for not wearing a helmet and how many scabs were on my knees from beefing it hard on the ground. Least I never had a board break between my legs, that will get you right in the crotch. Anyhoo! After making friends, and actually catching, an Alolan form Raichu. Keats finally has his Psychic type Pokémon to help him find Imani but just like his scam, the roadblock con artist, Bevin became a new hurdle for Keats to have to overcome. Showing his Pokémon's raw power, Bevin completely decimated Keats in battle, prompting him to flee to the woods. Now in solitude, Keats and Rotom have a long road ahead of them but first... What the hell happened at Marie's place after Keats sent back Stunky? We'll find out next time! On Wannabe!
