"Pineco! You're on call!" Keats exclaimed as he opened up a Pokéball. "Alright, I got Stunky, Druddigon, Surskit, Raichu and Diglett... See if this weird genius's team choice works..." He thought as he looked at Oranguru and then Rotom as Imani looked at her opponents Bug type.
"Smart... Using a type effective Pokémon when most of my Pokémon are Psychic... But that won't help." Imani thought as she looked at her Beheeyem. "You." She said as her Beheeyem turned its head towards its trainer. "You're up." Imani said with hostility.
"Behehehe." Beheeyem said as it hovered over.
"Pineco! Use "Spikes!"' Keats said towards his Bug type Pokémon. "Gotta weaken her Pokémon fast." He thought.
"Pineco!" Pineco shouted as she jumped into the air and spun with multiple rotations.
Ejecting from her body was a series of caltrop-like projectiles, aiming around the ground on Imani's side of the battlefield atop the massive Wailord. However, to the surprise of Keats and Rotom, the "Spikes" landed on the back of Wailord but didn't sink into the ground, merely falling off the side of the slippery back of the ginormous Water type Pokémon.
"Pineco?!" Pineco said in shock.
"What the hell?!" Keats shouted.
"Orangururu-rangrang." Oranguru said as Keats and Rotom looked at the orangutan-like Pokémon.
"It'zzzz not working because of the fact we're not on solid ground." Rotom translated.
"What?!" Keats said.
"Eyes up front!" Imani shouted as Keats turned back towards the fight. "Beheeyem, use "Steel Wing!" She ordered as Beheeyem's arms glowed with a silver tint.
"Behee!" Beheeyem muttered.
"Pineco, return!" Keats said as he pulled Pineco's ball back out.
As Beheeyem quickly rushed at Pineco, the surprised Bug type Pokémon was quickly recalled back inside her Pokéball which caused the extraterrestrial Pokémon to miss its Steel type attack. Putting away Pineco's ball, Keats pulled out a different Pokéball.
"Can't harm her Pokémon with "Spikes" like I did with Carter." Keats thought with a wince as he called out another of his Pokémon. "Stunky, you're on call!" He said as his skunk-like Pokémon appeared from his ball.
"Stunk-tunk!" Stunky said as he landed on all fours on Wailord's backside before passing wind to the surprise of everyone.
"Ewwww..." Imani commented as she put her hand over her nose.
"Oranguru?" Oranguru said with confusion.
"Guezzzzzzzz Stunky still can't help but fart..." Rotom said with an exasperated tone.
"Yeaahhh..." Keats muttered as his eyes darted left and right. "Thank god you still do that Stunky, because no one suspects me now..." He thought with nervousness.
"Swapping a Bug type for a Poison type against a Psychic type is an amateur level mistake. Beheeyem, use "Psychic!"' Imani said in a mocking tone before ordering her Pokémon to use a move.
"Beheee!" Beheeyem exclaimed as its body glowed with a blue tint to use its psychic powers on Stunky.
As a blue aura appeared around Stunky, the skunk-like Pokémon prepared for the attack until the aura suddenly disappeared. Surprised, Beheeyem charged up its psychic energy once again, but Stunky still wasn't affected by the Psychic type Pokémon's abilities.
"Huh?!" Imani muttered.
"It'zzzz not going to work!" Rotom said, catching everyone's attention. "Because Stunky is also part Dark." The phone Pokémon continued.
"...Which is unaffected by Psychic type moves! Hell yeah!" Keats said with a smile.
"Fine! I have other moves!" Imani said in anger. "Beheeyem, use "Steel Wing!"' She ordered as her extraterrestrial Pokémon rushed at Stunky with its arms glowing with a silver tint.
"Rangrang!" Oranguru said towards Keats.
"Use one of the new movezzzz!" Rotom translated.
"Uh! Stunky, "Sucker Punch!"' Keats ordered in response.
Raising its right claw that was clenched like a fist, Stunky managed to uppercut Beheeyem in its jaw. Before being sent back, Beheeyem managed to smack Stunky lightly with its glowing arm.
"Stunk!" Stunky grunted in pain.
"Beheee!" Beheeyem said as it slid along Wailord backside.
"Nice! That was zzzzuper effective!" Rotom exclaimed as Keats smirked.
"Beheeyem, use "Thunderbolt!"' Imani ordered as Beheeyem quickly got back up to its tiny feet.
"Beheee!" Beheeyem said as it charged up electricity.
Firing off lightning from its body, Beheeyem's attack connected with Stunky as the skunk-like Pokémon was pushed backwards towards Keats and he dug his claws into Wailord's back to keep from slipping. Because of the Electric type attack being used, Wailord squirmed slightly as Keats, Oranguru and Imani were caught off guard.
"Waha!" Keats muttered as the massive Water type Pokémon's shaking caused everyone to feel off-balance. "Must have been spooked by the Electric type attack being so close to it..." He thought with a bead of sweat rolling down the side of his head.
"Tch..." Imani muttered, clicking her tongue. "Damn Wailord has to hold still or it's going to knock my houseboat over." She thought as she looked towards her houseboat that was also on top of Wailord.
"Stunky, use "Dark Pulse!"' Keats ordered as Stunky put his two claws together and a ball that was comprised of black energy coils appeared between them.
"Beheeyem, use "Light Screen!" Imani demanded as Beheeyem put its arms to the sides and erected a barrier of yellow and black energy panels on its side of the battlefield.
"Stunky!" Stunky shouted as he fired off a beam comprised of black coils with purple tints around them at the floating Psychic type.
Passing through the "Light Screen" barrier, Stunky's "Dark Pulse" attack proceeded to shrink in size before connecting with Beheeyem. Despite being a super effective Dark type attack, Beheeyem was barely phased by the move hitting it.
'"Light Screen" cuts in half the damage given off by non-physically attacking moves like "Dark Pulzzzze."' Rotom explained.
"Then it looks like I'm back to up close combat..." Keats thought as he looked at Stunky.
'"Steel Wing!"' Imani ordered as Beheeyem rushed at Stunky once again with its arms glowing with a silver tint.
"Behee!" Beheeyem said as it prepared to swing its arms at the Poison and Dark type Pokémon.
"Just gotta hope this works again... "Sucker Punch!" One more time!" Keats said as Stunky lifted his fist into Beheeyem's stomach.
"Beeeeheee!" Beheeyem grunted in pain as it slammed both arms into Stunky's head.
With Stunky now on its chest and Beheeyem falling backwards onto its backside from the super effective "Sucker Punch" attack, both Pokémon now sporting swirls in their eyes to signify their unconscious states. Surprised, Keats and Imani made faces of disbelief as Keats pulled out Stunky's Pokéball and Imani pulled out her black ball with a gold line around it that contained Beheeyem.
"Orang..." Oranguru said as Keats looked at Stunky's ball.
"So much for using "Aftermath..."' Keats thought before looking at Oranguru. "What's up?" He questioned.
"Oranguru is noticing the ballzzzz that Imani is using." Rotom translated.
"What about them?" Keats said.
"Orangururururu." Oranguru replied.
"Oranguru zzzzay'zzzz they're Luxury Balls." Rotom said as Keats raised an eyebrow.
"What's so "luxurious" about them?" Keats thought as he made air quotes with his hands as he watched Imani pull out another Luxury Ball.
"Luxury Ballzzzz make it so the Pokémon that gets caught inside them become more friendlier in a shorter span of time than if caught in a different ball." Rotom explained.
"Oranguru-rangrang." Oranguru said further.
"What's the holdup!? Just throw out your next Pokémon!" Imani complained in an agitated tone.
"Just hold on, alright?! Translation?" Keats shouted at Imani before turning towards Rotom.
"Oranguru said you zzzzhould swap out to Druddigon but Raichu can work too." Rotom translated.
"Huh?" Keats muttered in confusion. "Why?" He questioned.
"Orangururururu." Oranguru said as Keats raised an eyebrow.
"Her remaining Pokémon are both Psychic and Water typezzzz before she uses Sableye." Rotom said as Keats' eyes widened. "He just needs to make sure Raichu doesn't get knocked out." The phone Pokémon thought.
"...Oh yeah, that's true..." Keats thought, realizing what Oranguru said was accurate as he pulled out Raichu's ball. "Raichu, you're on call!" He said as he opened up the ball and out came his floating Electric and Psychic type Pokémon.
"Rai-raichu!" Raichu said as he proceeded to do a kickflip on his tail in the air.
"Starmie, come on out!" Imani shouted.
Emerging from the light and landing on top of Wailord's back was an echinoderm-like creature of medium height that appeared like two violet starfish combined. With five appendages each, the front starfish sported a gold formation in the front with a red gem in the center of its body.
"Iya!" Starmie exclaimed as Rotom got in front of Keats to scan Starmie for the PokéDex.
'"Starmie, the Mysterious Pokémon, a Water and Psychic type. When away from human eyes, its core is said to glow mysteriously in seven colors. Regardless of the environment it lives in, its body grows to form a symmetrical geometric shape."' Rotom said, reading off the PokéDex for Starmie's entry.
"And the evolved form of Staryu." Keats said as he recognized the Pokémon. "It's a Water type and I have an Electric type, we got the advantage." He thought as he turned his eyes towards his Raichu, ready to fight.
"Starmie! "Reflect!'"' Imani ordered.
"Iya!" Starmie shouted as the starfish on its back spun around with multiple rotations as a circular barrier of energy with a rainbow tint appeared, layered on top of the "Light Screen" barrier that was still up around Imani's side of the field.
"What does "Reflect" do in comparison to "Light Screen?"' Keats questioned towards Oranguru and Rotom.
"While "Light Screen" lowers the damage of long-range attacks like "Dark Pulse," "Reflect" lowers the damage of physically attacking movezzzz." Rotom explained as Keats bit his lip.
"Then we just have to work through it. Raichu! Use "Spark!"' Keats ordered as Raichu begun to spark up with electricity.
"Raichuuuu!" Raichu exclaimed as he proceeded to quickly hover at Starmie for his Electric type attack.
"Stand your guard..." Imani said as her Starmie stood completely still.
Passing through the energy barricades, Raichu's speed suddenly decreased as the mouse-like Pokémon lightly bumped against Starmie, barely doing any damage despite using a move that would normally be super effective against it. Stunned, Keats and Rotom looked on as Oranguru rubbed its chin, analyzing the battle.
'"Reflect" lowered the damage output of Raichu'zzzz move!" Rotom said as Raichu returned to Keats' side of the battlefield, the husky framed trainer making a face of frustration in response.
"Orangurururu." Oranguru said, attempting to catch Keats' attention.
"Oranguru zzzzaid you need to swap-" Rotom said as Keats spoke up to cut off the phone Pokémon.
"Shhhh! Battle happening!" Keats shouted towards the Pokémon.
"...Rangrang..." Oranguru said with an annoyed tone.
"Now use "Power Gem!" Followed by "Ice Beam!"' Imani ordered as the backside starfish attached to Starmie spun once more.
"Iya!" Starmie grunted as the red gem in the center of its body started to glow with a bright red aura.
Expelling out of the gemstone was a red laser beam that connected with Raichu, knocking the floating Electric and Psychic type off of his tail board and onto his back atop of Wailord. Following up from the first maneuver, Starmie put two of its front ends together and an orb of light blue energy had appeared in front of it.
"Raich!?" Raichu muttered in confusion as he sat up and noticed an incoming ray of zigzagging light blue energy. "Raaaaiiii!" He screamed as he was hit by the attack.
As the "Ice Beam" connected with Raichu, the beam started to cause Raichu to freeze up until he was now completely encased in a block of ice. Due to the slipperiness of Wailord's back and from being frozen, Raichu slowly begun to slide off the side of Wailord's back as Keats, Rotom and Oranguru noticed the Electric and Psychic type Pokémon was about to fall into the ocean.
"Rangrang!" Oranguru exclaimed.
"Keatzzzz! Quickly!" Rotom shouted.
"Ahh! Raichu! Return!" Keats said as he rushed to recall Raichu back into his ball as his Pokémon was on the verge of falling off Wailord.
Shooting the digitization beam from the ball, Keats managed to recall his Alolan variant Raichu back into his ball as he breathed a sigh of relief. Oranguru, breathing a similar sigh, put its hand on its chest to calm itself as it turned to look at Starmie before looking upward.
"Uru?" Oranguru said as it raised an eyebrow and noticed a peculiar sight.
Above the makeshift battlefield where Keats and Imani were battling, Oranguru looked up to see a bright green drone with a head that had blue eyes and a spike above the camera. As the drone sported a smirk that showed its sharp teeth, the camera lens was pointed directly at the battle in progress.
"Raichu is frozen solid and if I call it back out, it's going to fall off Wailord." Keats thought with worry as he looked at Raichu's ball before shifting his gaze back at Imani and Sableye, who was silently sitting next to her. "Barrier or no barrier, we gotta take out that Starmie." He said with a furrowed brow as he put away Raichu's ball and took out Surskit's Timer Ball. "Surskit, you're on call!" Keats shouted.
"Sursk!" Surskit said with her usual malicious glare as she landed on all four of her sharp legs.
"Surskit, use "Sweet Scent!"' Keats ordered as Surskit begun to shake her body, letting loose a pink colored mist as it enveloped Starmie.
"Iya!" Starmie exclaimed as its body was covered in the cloud, now shaking in an apathetic manner.
"Uh!" Imani grunted as she noticed her starfish-like Pokémon was shuffling its body.
"Can't do much with the "Reflect" and "Light Screen" in the way but I can make it difficult for you to block!" Keats shouted with a grin. "Now, use "Leech Life!"' He ordered as Surskit slid along Wailord's back towards Starmie.
"Counter with "Ice Beam!"' Imani exclaimed as her uncaring Starmie put two of its front ends together again to charge up another Ice type attack.
With her small body glowing with a dark green aura, Surskit passed through the barriers on Imani's side of the battlefield and latched onto Starmie's top end, the orb of Ice type energy dissipating in response. Stumbling as Surskit begun to drain energy from the Water and Psychic, Starmie tried to grab Surskit but the smaller Pokémon continued to shift herself out of the way.
"Get it off of you Starmie!" Imani screamed in frustration.
"Use "Leech Life" again!" Keats ordered as Surskit glowed a second time with a dark green aura and drained more out of Starmie.
"Starmie, use "Waterfall!"' Imani ordered as her Starmie stopped squirming to rid itself of Surskit.
Hopping into the air, Starmie begun to spin both its front and back starfish-like sides as Surskit was still attached to it, clinging. Spinning in midair, a blue rift opened up as a sudden flood of water had materialized from out of the rift and caused Surskit to lose her grip on her opponent, falling back onto Wailord.
'"Power Gem," "Reflect," "Waterfall," "Ice Beam..."' Keats thought, memorizing the moves that the opposing Starmie could use. "Rotom... What type of move is "Power Gem?"' He asked towards the floating phone Pokémon.
"Rock type, zzzzt." Rotom replied as Oranguru looked at Keats.
"Rock... Rock..." Keats said to himself. "Okay..." He said as he pulled out Surskit's ball again. "Return." Keats said as he recalled Surskit.
"Oranguru..." Oranguru said as it looked at Starmie and then towards Keats as he reached around for a different ball. "Orangurururu-rangrang." The orangutan-like Pokémon said towards Rotom.
"Huh? You need zzzzomething?" Rotom said with confusion as Keats looked at the Pokémon that were assisting in the battle. "Maybe it has another idea... Things aren't looking good..." The phone Pokémon thought.
"Sure, just have a conversation behind me. No need to help..." Keats mentally complained as he pulled out a regular Pokéball. "Pineco, you're on call!" He exclaimed as he called back out his Bug type. "If Surskit goes down, we're going to be up the creek without a paddle... At least with Pineco's ability, she won't be knocked out in one hit from either of those type effective moves..." Keats thought further.
"Pineco!" Pineco said as she landed on the back of Wailord as she eyed Starmie.
"Swapping a Bug type for a Bug type now?" Imani commented. "Type weakness for Psychic types is one thing but I have "Ice Beam" and "Power Gem" at my disposal." She said as she folded her arms and smiled maliciously. "Speaking of which, Starmie! Use "Power Gem!"' Imani shouted as her Starmie's red gem started to glow once again.
"Iya!" Starmie exclaimed as it fired off another red laser beam from the center of its body.
"Dodge! Then use "Bug Buzz!"' Keats said in response as Pineco proceeded to hop to the side to dodge the Rock type attack.
"Piiinecooo!" Pineco said as her body begun to shake, letting loose green soundwaves in the direction of Starmie behind the "Light Screen" and "Reflect" barriers.
Suddenly, before the attack could hit Starmie, one of the barriers surrounding Imani's side of the battlefield had disappeared. Stunned, Imani made a surprised expression as Pineco's "Bug Buzz" attack managed to hit Starmie for full super effective damage.
"Iyyyaaa!" Starmie exclaimed in pain as it fell backwards onto its back starfish.
"Huh!?" Imani angrily grunted in confusion.
"I'm not complaining but what just happened?!" Keats said with a smile and similar surprise.
"Orangururururu-rangrang." Oranguru said, facing the front direction of Wailord.
"What's it saying?" Keats asked towards Rotom.
"Oranguru said that "Light Zzzzcreen" wears off after a period of time." Rotom translated as it floated next to Oranguru, both not facing Keats.
"Okay cool..." Keats said as he was confused by the lack of attention the Pokémon were giving him. "First Anik and now them, is everyone just rude now?!" He thought with aggravation slowly rising within him as Starmie got back up.
"Iya!" Starmie exclaimed.
"Good, now use "Power Gem!"' Imani ordered as Starmie charged up its Rock type move again.
"Iya!" Starmie shouted as its red gem glowed.
"Counter with "Bug Buzz" again!" Keats replied in response as Pineco shook her body and let loose green colored soundwaves once more.
With Starmie firing off its red laser beam for a third time, it connected with Pineco's "Bug Buzz" soundwaves as the two moves cancelled each other out. With the dust settling from the attack, the "Reflect" barrier that was covering Imani's side of the field had disappeared finally.
"Tch..." Imani grunted, clicking her tongue as she noticed her sides barriers disappeared.
'"Rapid Spin!"' Keats quickly shouted as Pineco jumped through the cloud of smoke with her body rotating.
"Pineco!" Pineco exclaimed as she tackled her spinning body against the red gemstone of Starmie, sending the Water and Psychic type Pokémon flying backwards, past Imani and Sableye and slamming into the wall of her houseboat.
"Guh!" Imani muttered as she looked back and saw her Starmie, downed and its red gem blinking.
"Did we get it?!" Keats questioned towards Oranguru and Rotom, both turning around finally.
"Rangrang!" Oranguru said with a nod.
"Yes! The blinking light on Zzzztarmie'zzzz body signifies it's unconscious!" Rotom exclaimed as Oranguru and Rotom turned away, not facing the battle once again.
"A-ha!" Keats exclaimed as he pointed at Imani. "Two down! Two to go! Bring out that creepy red and green thing!" He said, referring to Imani's Bruxish.
With a twitch of her eyebrow, Imani proceeded to turn back in the direction of Keats and took out the Luxury Ball that was for her Starmie. Recalling it back into its ball while not looking at it, the former Snagem Family member glared towards Keats before shifting her eyes downward at Sableye.
"Sableye." Imani said with an annoyed tone. "Go out there." She ordered as the imp-like Pokémon stepped forward.
"She's skipping over Bruxish and bringing out Sableye instead?! I don't got anything that's super effective against a Dark and Ghost type!" Keats thought with surprise. "Pineco, we gotta end this quick! Use "Explosion!"' He said towards his Bug type as Pineco hopped at Sableye, who stood motionless.
"Huh, zzzzt?!" Rotom said as the floating phone Pokémon turned around.
"Rang?!" Oranguru exclaimed.
"Wait, Keatzzzz!" Rotom shouted as Keats braced for the blast.
"Piiiine-co!" Pineco shouted as she exploded atop of Wailord.
"Waaaaiiii!" Wailord screamed in pain as it felt the feeling of Pineco's bomb attack on its back.
Squirming, the massive Water type Pokémon proceeded to shake violently as everyone tried to hold on while the smoke covered them. Amidst Wailord being unable to control itself from the shock of the blast, Keats quickly took out his ball and recalled Pineco before her unconscious body could fall off and Imani watched as her houseboat fell off the back of Wailord and onto its side, into the water.
"My stuff!" Imani screamed in shock on her knees as she watched her houseboat begin to sink.
"Sucks, doesn't it!?" Keats angrily shouted. "I lost a shoe that way!" He thought.
"Enough of this crap!" Imani furiously said as she punched Wailord's back, the whale Pokémon wincing in response as Sableye stood completely unfazed.
"Waaaaiiii..." Wailord moaned in frustration.
"Keatzzzz!" Rotom said as it floated over to the husky framed trainer. "Why did you use "Explosion" of all thingzzzz?!" The floating phone Pokémon shouted as Oranguru looked at Keats.
"I thought it would work!" Keats exclaimed.
'"Explosion" is a Normal type move! What typing is Zzzzableye?!" Rotom questioned in an enraged tone.
"Dark and Ghost?" Keats replied.
"And Ghost Pokémon can't be hit by Normal type movezzzz! Remember how that didn't work with Marowak on Melemele Island!?" Rotom shouted.
"...But... Doesn't the fact it's a Dark type overrule that because Dark types can be hit by Normal type moves?" Keats said, sheepishly.
"No, zzzzt! Marowak was Ghost and Fire type and it didn't work then either!" Rotom exclaimed as Oranguru made a disappointed expression with its hand on its face.
"...Oh..." Keats said with an embarrassed face as he forgot what doesn't have an effect on Ghost Pokémon.
"Sableye... Mega Evolve..." Imani angrily shouted as the purple imp-like Pokémon raised its arms.
Pressing down on the keystone, Sableye started to glow with a bright light covering its body. With its ears growing sharper and its grey gem-like eyes changing colors to red, a massive gem that was roughly the size of Sableye that matched Sableye's new eye color was held in its hands.
"Whoa..." Keats said, surprised by the form change and the large jewel that Sableye was behind. "Now I am wishing Timburr was here, bet a sword fight between Sableye's gem and Timburr's log would be cool to see." He thought as Oranguru and Rotom looked on.
"Oranguru, you need to tell Keatzzzz your backup plan." Rotom said towards Oranguru as the orangutan-like Pokémon nodded.
"Rangrang." Oranguru said as it tried to get Keats' attention.
"Not now! Surskit!" Keats said towards Oranguru as he pulled out Surskit's Timer Ball and called back out his sadistic Bug and Water type.
"Surskit!" Surskit exclaimed as she landed back on Wailord;s back. "Use "Sweet Scent!"' He ordered as Surskit shook and let loose pink mist towards Sableye once more.
"Hop off your gem to dodge." Imani angrily said as Sableye put its massive gem onto its side and proceeded jump on it to dodge the mist. "Come down and use "Shadow Ball!"' She ordered as Sableye landed on the red gem and proceeded to put its hands together, forming a black ball of energy and throwing it at Surskit.
"Dodge, then use "Leech Life!"' Keats ordered as Surskit ducked under the attack.
"Surskit!" Surskit exclaimed as she slid along Wailord's back in an effort to use "Leech Life" on Sableye.
"Use your gem to block it and then "Shadow Ball!"' Imani ordered once again as Sableye charged up another Ghost type attack.
As Surskit got closer, Sableye quickly put its foot on the massive red gem and kicked it upright to, causing Surskit to slam against the gem and lose her dark green aura. Still holding onto its "Shadow Ball" attack, the Mega Evolved Ghost and Dark type threw the "Shadow Ball" at Surskit, causing her to be sent back towards Keats.
"Whaha!" Keats muttered in surprise as he held his arms out, catching Surskit as her eyes swirled to signify her now unconscious state. "Crap, not you too... That's over half of my team now." He thought with worry as Sableye went back to holding up its giant red gem in front of itself again. "Grrr..." Keats growled as he took out Surskit's Timer Ball and recalled her back inside.
"Keatzzzz, counting Raichu being frozen, you have two Pokémon left." Rotom said as Oranguru poked Keats on the shoulder again.
"I know already!" Keats exclaimed angrily as he pulled out Druddigon's Ultra Ball. "And not now!" He shouted towards Oranguru as the orangutan-like Pokémon was starting to lose patience with the husky framed trainer. "Druddigon, you're on call!" Keats said as he opened the ball.
"Druddigon!" Druddigon roared as he landed atop of Wailord.
"Just have to hope Sableye doesn't know a super effective move for Dragons..." Keats thought with a bead of sweat dripping off his face. "Druddigon, use "Flash Cannon!"' He ordered as Druddigon begun to charge up silver energy in his mouth.
"Sableye, use "Protect!"' Imani ordered as Druddigon fired a silver laser beam from his mouth.
Putting up its gem like a shield, a barrier of green energy formed around Sableye as the "Flash Cannon" attack landed against it, failing to do any damage against the Ghost and Dark type. Smiling, Imani looked on with a confident expression on her face as Keats wasn't doing well against Mega Sableye.
"Need more power..." Keats thought with frustration mounting. '"Hone Claws!"' He shouted as Druddigon proceeded to take his claws on both hands and rubbed them against each other, sharpening them to raise his attacking capabilities.
"Use "Shadow Ball!"' Imani ordered as Sableye formed another black orb between its hands and chucked it at Druddigon.
"Dodge!" Keats said as Druddigon proceeded to jump into the air, flapping his wings to take flight. "Now use "Dragon Tail!"' He said.
"Druuudigon!" Druddigon bellowed as he flew towards Sableye with his tail glowing green, preparing for a swing.
"Come on... Get closer." Imani said with malicious intent as Keats made a surprised expression. "Use "Dazzling Gleam!"' She said as Sableye proceeded to place its massive gem in front of it as its eyes glowed with a bright white light.
Looking at the gem, Sableye's glowing diamond eyes proceeded to shine into the gem, causing the bright light to refract through it. As Druddigon approached, the bright light covered over the Dragon type Pokémon until he suddenly fell out of the air and landed on his back, his eyes swirling into unconsciousness as a stunned Keats looked on.
"Fairy type moves are super effective against Dragon types." Imani commented as Keats looked at her. "Since you're down to one last Pokémon, I'll bring up the fact that Sableye knows "Recover" as well. So even if you manage a hit, Sableye can just heal from it." She said with her arms folded and Keats making a distraught look on his face. "You have one Pokémon left; I have two... So, it's time to end this joke of a battle. Send out your last Pokémon!" Imani gloated.
"There's... No chance..." Keats thought as he slowly pulled back out Druddigon's Ultra Ball and recalled him.
"Keatzzzz! Look at us!" Rotom said as Keats pulled out his last Pokéball.
"All that's left is Diglett... But... How the heck am I supposed to call her out?" Keats thought as his eyes looked around at Wailord's back, not sure how to call out Diglett because there wasn't anywhere for her to pop out from the ground.
"Raaang..." Oranguru said with annoyance as the Normal and Psychic type Pokémon made a fist.
"What am I going to do, there's no way I can- urgh!" Keats thought until he suddenly felt the feeling of someone punching him in the spine, causing him to fall forward onto his chest as Imani looked on in confusion.
"Huh?" Imani muttered.
"Ow! What the hell was that for?!" Keats exclaimed in pain as he turned around towards Rotom and Oranguru.
"Oranguru!" Oranguru shouted.
"What's the big idea?!" Keats screamed towards the Normal and Psychic type Pokémon as he got back to his feet.
"Rangrangrang! Orangurururu!" Oranguru said towards Keats as he looked at Rotom for a translation.
"Oranguru had to make a backup plan, zzzzt." Rotom said. "You didn't use the Pokémon the way it intended for you to use." The phone Pokémon said with a stern tone.
"Huh?!" Keats muttered. "I know this thing picked my team and changed the moves but what did it want me to do?" He thought with bewilderment.
"Oranguru gave you all the toolzzzz you needed to win but you got Surskit and Raichu knocked out!" Rotom shouted. "Surskit knew "Soak." "Soak" changes the typing of the Pokémon you use it on to Water typing, like you could've used to change Sableye's typing." The phone Pokémon explained. "If Raichu was still around, you could have given Sableye super effective damage since you didn't have a Fairy type move at your disposal by changing its typing to Water with Surskit and then attacking with an Electric type move like Raichu knowzzzz!" Rotom continued as Keats' eyes widened.
"Wh-wha...?" Keats said with surprise.
"Stunky and Druddigon knew Dark type moves to help with taking out Starmie, Beheeyem and Bruxizzzzh! Pineco was also available because it knew "Bug Buzz!" All you had to do was keep Raichu and Surskit from being knocked out, but Oranguru thankfully had a "Plan B!"' Rotom said as Keats looked at Oranguru. "Diglett is the backup plan!" The phone Pokémon continued.
"Are you through?! Or shall I attack you instead?!" Imani said with an aggravated tone as Keats turned back to look at her.
"Just lizzzzten to Oranguru!" Rotom shouted as Keats turned back towards the Pokémon.
"Rangu." Oranguru said as it pointed its finger towards the front of Wailord.
"What? What am I supposed to be looking at?" Keats questioned, unsure of what Oranguru was getting at.
"Oranguru!" Oranguru exclaimed as it walked forward and pointed to a noticeable crevice in Wailord's back.
"Huh? The blowhole?" Keats questioned with a raised eyebrow.
"Rangrang." Oranguru said as it put its hands together and made a hand gesture like it was opening up something.
"What, is he opening up a box or a container or-... A ball?" Keats thought as he looked at Oranguru, then the blowhole and then back at Diglett's Pokéball as he started to put two and two together. "Ohhhhh... Diglett!" He said with an angry smirking face as he looked back at Imani.
"What is he up to?" Imani thought with her hands on her hips as Sableye held its gem.
"Oh nothing... Just... A big mess! Haaaa!" Keats said until bursting into a crazed yell as he opened up Diglett's ball and the light from it going inside Wailord's blowhole.
"Waaaiii-waiii?!" Wailord said as it suddenly felt something enter into its body.
Its eyes twitching and making a face that was beginning to wince and cringe from the absurd feeling of something plugging up its hole, Wailord begun to stir violently and proceeded to thrash about from the uncomfortable feeling that surged throughout the whale-like Pokémon. Suddenly, Keats' Alolan form Diglett popped out of the blowhole as Keats looked at her.
"Diglett." Diglett said as she looked up at Keats, Oranguru and Rotom from the blowhole.
"Waaaaiiii!" Wailord screamed violently as everyone atop the gigantic Water type Pokémon were struggling to maintain balance.
"Ahhhh!" Imani screamed as Sableye dropped its gem with it falling into the ocean and the imp-like Pokémon clutched at Wailord's back to not fall as Imani fell onto her knees.
"What was this "master plan" again?!" Keats screamed in a panic as he fell onto Wailord's back before Rotom floated into Keats' pocket for protection and Oranguru began to glow with a blue aura for "Psychic" again.
While using "Psychic" to maintain its balance atop of the violently shaking Wailord, Oranguru walked over to Imani with an aggravated expression as Imani was just trying to avoid falling off of Wailord. Reaching into her pocket, Oranguru pulled out the one regular Pokéball that was used for Sableye and pressed down on the button to recall Sableye back into the ball.
"I can't just let them take back what was rightly mine!" Imani thought in frustration as she took out a Luxury Ball. "Bruxish, use "Surf!"' She screamed as she opened up the ball. "Now all I have to do is go back into my houseboat where it's safe and- ah!" Imani thought as she turned back to where she thought her houseboat was, forgetting that it fell into the water earlier.
"Bruxbruxbrux!" Imani's Shiny Bruxish exclaimed as it jumped into the nearby water as it formed an orb of blue energy over its head.
Slamming it into the water, Bruxish caused a wave of immense proportion to arise from the water as Oranguru, Keats and Imani looked on in shock at the wave approaching. Knocking into Wailord, "Surf" caused the gigantic Water type Pokémon to submerge into the water while still in pain as everyone was now underwater.

Several hours had passed since the battle between Keats and Imani had occurred the prior night as Keats was laying on a beach, unconscious and his face in the sand. Approaching him was a small creature made of white sand that had a toy shovel in its head as its tiny nub-like hand made of sand poked Keats on the head to see if he was still alive.
"Blaugh!" Keats exclaimed, scaring away the small sand Pokémon as it sank into the ground, leaving behind the shovel that was on its head as the husky framed trainer begun to spit up sand and sea water from his mouth. "Aghh... Ygh..." He panted slowly as he flipped over onto his back, looking up at the night sky as he looked over in the direction of the sun starting to rise. "Wh-what?" Keats said as he sat up and shifted his gaze to the side.
Looking over, Keats raised an eyebrow as he noticed Wailord was beached on its side, and its eyes were swirling into a familiar unconscious state of being. Standing up and dusting off his legs, Keats looked around at broken pieces of wood that were washing ashore and turned around to notice a surprising sight of Oranguru, standing over Imani before the orangutan-like Pokémon turned its attention over to Keats.
"Hey..." Keats said with a tired tone as Rotom popped out. "Guess we all washed ashore..." He thought.
"Oh thank goodnezzzzzzzz, you made it!" Rotom said as it hovered next to Keats. "And thank goodness for water proofing!" The phone Pokémon thought.
"Ye-yeah..." Keats said with an unsure tone as he looked at Imani, breathing and out like a light. "Where are we?" He asked as Rotom started to scan the area.
"Judging by my GPS, we're on Akala Izzzzland." Rotom replied.
"...What irony... A place I hated that I never been to and now I am here..." Keats thought as he bit his lip. "So, she-" He said until he was cut off.
"Oranguru." Oranguru said as it removed the Pokéball necklace from around its neck, cutting off Keats from speaking before lightly tossing the ball towards Keats and then placing another Pokéball on the ground.
"Huh?" Keats muttered in confusion.
"Rangrang." Oranguru said before it walked away towards the nearby city.
"What was that about?" Keats questioned towards Rotom.
"...Oranguru zzzzaid "good luck."' Rotom translated. "And I'll just leave out the part where it said you're mediocre." The phone Pokémon thought, withholding information from Keats so as not to upset him.
"Uhh..." Keats mumbled as he walked over to the ball on the ground next to Imani. "Guessing you're Sableye..." He said to himself as he picked up the ball and put it in his pocket before bending down. "And I'll be taking that as well." Keats continued as he slipped off Imani's Mega Evolution ring.
"Finally, zzzzt..." Rotom said with an exasperated tone. "Now we need to figure out what to do with her." The phone Pokémon said towards Keats as he looked over at the downed Wailord as a creature was burrowing through the sand and stopped in front of Keats.
"Diglettediglette." Diglette said as she popped out of the sand on the beach, looking up at a surprised Keats.
"Hey... Good work..." Keats said with a tired tone as he pulled out her ball and quickly recalled her back inside.
"Glad to zzzzzee she's alright after all that..." Rotom said as Keats looked down at the small shovel and then over at Imani.
"Think I have an idea of what to do with the thief." Keats thought as a smirk formed on his face.
Did you know the world record for holding your breath underwater is twenty-four minutes and thirty-seven seconds? Most people can only hold it for somewhere between thirty to ninety. Not to brag, but I can hold a solid two minutes before I start to feel like I am starting to taste the salt water. Anyway! Wow, what a battle between Keats and Imani. While Keats managed to knock out some of Imani's own Pokémon, once Marie's Sableye hit the field, it was almost over for the big guy. Failing to follow Oranguru's plan because of his inability to process what the super genius Pokémon had come up with for him, Plan B had to be used: Diglett going into Wailord's blowhole and causing the gargantuan Water type Pokémon to surge and twinge in pain to ruin the battlefield itself! After Bruxish used "Surf" to sink everyone, Keats and Imani washed ashore on Akala Island as Oranguru left Sableye's ball on the sand and walked away with a disappointed look in its eyes towards our protagonist. Can Keats chalk this up as a win? In one way, yes but in other ways, I'm not so sure. I'm just the narrator. But let's see if Keats can get any information out of Imani, next time on Wannabe!
