It's been a while huh?
Hard Rock shook the car as Sara drove through the snow storm to West Hall, nodding her head to the beat. Nodding her head alongside was Thalia, tucked away in the back with Naruto, grinning to the lyrics and running her fingers though Naruto's sleeping head hair. Annabeth sat in the front, reading some book about some subject that Thalia couldn't make heads or tails of.
Sometimes she hated not getting a good education, Thalia had admitted in her private thoughts, as even Percy knew more than her but then again she was trying survive then being able to go to school and would never admit it to the wet brain. Looking down at Naruto's sleeping face as he lay resting his head on her lap, Thaila wondered if this would have been like if she had ran away with Jason. Going on adventures, her being a role model...
'Thalia stop it!' She berated herself as Naruto's face morphed into Jason. This wasn't her brother no matter how much he remined her of him. Pain and jealousy gripped her heart as she recalled how Naruto let her into his sphere of family, how Percy was called big brother. She wanted that, to be seen as the older sibling.
It was difficult to acquiescence her feelings and suddenly experiencing years of puberty all at once made it difficult to adapt to the world. Her face reddened when tme unbidden memory of squeezing Naruto in a hug when the frist met.
"So Thaila," Sara said as she lane changed. The Jackson made Thalia uneasy, as if the mortal was hiding some secret. Then again the nine tailed stuffed fox was even stranger. It wasn't a monster nor was it some construction of her half brother. It wasn't magical and she never faced anything like it before to trigger her emotional unease to it. But Sara? She felt wrong, like she wasn't all their. "Why did you need a trip to my school? Your not planning on joing are you?"
"No!" Ok, maybe that was a little louder than needed given the glare Annabeth sent her. "I mean, there's a friend at the school who needs help reuniting a few of the family to-"
Annabeth coughed and glanced up from her book. "What she meant to say is that yes, she is looking forward to learning more about your school given what Grover has sent her in their letter correspondence."
"Big word for you." Sara said, mocking the daughter of Athena. Eyes rolling she honked her horn as a truck rumbled by. "Asshole! Watch the road!"
Ignoring Sara's words (Earplugs investments were paying off) and basking in the moonlight through the window Annabeth Chase was content. Her book was good and she didn't have to be near that annoyingly cute jerk funny seaweed sweet brain. How could he lose his sword and how dare he still be on good terms with that hussy!?
Thalia groaned and pinched her nose in an attempt to calm down, made easier petting Naruto. At least they were blessed by the goddess of luck as no monsters had showed up yet. Perhaps this extraction mission will end without a major hiccup. After all, Percy wasn't here and he was a trouble magnet. Clearly the universe was sending a sign.
In another universe the mission to infiltrate the West Hall, Percy and friends would face only one monster and a mercenary helicopter dealt with by Artemis, goddess of the moon. The mission would end with the capture of Annabeth with said monster, Thorn, and Bianca joining the hunt. Apollo would save the day and so forth.
This wasn't that universe.
Dr. Thorn smirked as Thalia Grace was sent though the gym wall, across the hallway into a classroom as the giant used her as a tennis ball. Moral children screamed as the human mercenaries disguised as teachers lead them away while making sure that the targets were with them, being sent away to safety. The annoying dog need new members of his pack and this large recruitment was sure to get him on their side. Werewolves were one of the few monsters that could pass as mortals during the day and for a single bite the army could swell into the thousands! With millions of humans and a limited amount a silver the mortal west would fall in days.
Rolling his eyes his tail snapped to the left, pinning the daughter of Athena to the wall with his spikes while removing that insufferable hat of hers. "Did mommy not tell you that if sight doesn't work scent does? Or not to face a monster who has fought invisible demigods?"
"Shut it!" Annabeth snapped as she ripped her jacket to escape. Grover yelled in fright as she dove next to him behind the upturned table he was using for a shield. "Why aren't you using your magic!"
"I can't!" Grover yelled as he shook his broken pan pipes. He yelped as a shower of bullets rattled the top of the table. Annabeth cursed as she grabbed the closest thing to her, a bowl of punch, instead of her dagger. "I wish Percy was here!"
Annabeth bristled. "We don't need that walking foam to survive this Grover!" She yelled as she threw the bowl, knocking out a mercenary. He didn't need that tooth anyway.
A disintegrating body of a giant flew over their heads as a bolt of energy from Thalia sent it flying in return for it using her as a ball. The daughter of Zeus was battered, bruised... And fighting spear to knifes against several mercs. Being a demigod had perks to combat ability to be sure, but it was clear that the older and more experienced adults were slowly forcing her back. And with them being mortals Thalia wasn't able to harm them with her celestial bronze weapon. Lighting was her only option but everyone knew that with every blast she grew more tired as each blast sapped at her strength.
"Annabeth! Wate- GAH!"
Annabeth watched as Thalia doubled over as a large mercenary punched her in the gut from a shadow while a hell hound smashed into Grover. This wasn't covered in the camp tactical guide books! Slamming her dagger into the monster it exploded into golden dust all over Grover.
He glanced up at her panting. "Thanks Annabeth."
"We're not out of the woods yet." Tightening her grip around her dagger Annabeth quickly went though her memories of the plans of the building. "Grover, would any flute work? For you?"
"In a hitch? YES!" He answered as he gripped her trophy of monster hide.
"Ok, here my plan. Your going to take my hat and run to the music room via a path tough the wall over there while Thalia and I make a run for it."
"What! What about Naruto!?"
"No time to explain it all. THALIA! LIGHTING BLAST THERE!" Annabeth yelled, pointing to the rear wall. They haven't seen Naruto for a while now but as of this moment she needed to make sure that they would survive Thorn's ambush. 'Just where are you Naruto?'
"Ha... won bacon!" Thalia reached up with her free hand and gripped her nose. Bracing herself she reset the bone after having it be bent out of shape by the now fried merc. "SHIT!"
"THALIA!"
'Is this what all missions from the gods are meant to go like?' Naruto thought as he, alongside his new friend Nico and his sister Bianca, watched as silver arrows were taking out the mercenary guards around the helicopter. it was only a few minutes ago he was captured after leaving the party to go to the bathroom but it felt like several hours. He wasn't expecting the giant to break his arm but his screams of pain was able to give Thalia and Annabeth a critical few seconds to react before Thorn sprung his trap. Not that it mattered as the giant sent Thalia flying with his club.
"This is goldman one calling General. Package is boarding. Under fire from enemies using arrows." The man nearest to the chopper radioed to whomever this general was as he took pop shots at the archers in the trees. Naruto tried but failed at not flinching as a body fell from the trees.
"... Understood sir. Wrap it up men!" The commander yelled out as he reached out at grabbed Nico by his shoulder. "Get in there! Move it!"
"LEAVE HIM ALONE!" Bianca yelled out and the ground shook. Naruto watched as several skeletons rose up like weeds to attack the man and the guards around them.
"What did you do sis!" Nico questioned as goldman one let him go to punch a rather ugly bonehead. Naruto took this distraction slam his foot onto the woman holding him and glanced over to the stunned siblings.
"I don't know." Bianca stammered as she stared at everything going on. Seeing she was in no shape to know it was time to go Naruto made a snap choice. Grabbing hers and Nico's hands, Naruto raced away from the chopper.
"We got to find a place to hide!" Naruto yelled as he pulled them behind a dumpster. Several mercs were attempting to go after them but the archers weren't letting them get close. In fact several of the hunters were advancing, using the snow as a means of sliding between cover as they traded attacks with the enemies. Naruto wasn't stupid as he recognized their arrows and skills. However skilled they were, the hunters were still facing off against a military group with monsters.
With a roar the helicopter rose into the air and began spreading bullets into the woods with its heavy weaponry. Yells and cries of pain filled the air as trees burst into splitters along with several unfortunate hunters who could not hide from the barrage in time. The hunters who were advancing quickly found themselves in retreat as their covers were blown away from the draft created by the chopper and the appearance of multiple hell hounds.
No one was prepared for the wall to explode and pelt them with lighting laced bricks.
"Thalia!" Naruto yelled in joy at seeing the lighting thrower's blast and her figure stumbling into the snowy ground being held up by Grover and Annabeth. Annabeth looked over to see Naruto racing out of cover to help but paled as the shadow of Thorn filled the hole Thalia made.
"Naruto run!"
Naruto yelped as the Manticore roared and sent his missiles towards the fleeing demigods and Grover. Thalia was barely able to summon a weak blast of lighting to destroy a few but fainted as the last bits of energy left her system.
Thorn let out a deep, low laugh. "So this is all it takes to capture the daughter of the king? To thwart the allies of his reign?"
"That girl is a princess?" Nico spoke his thought out loud as his sister was having a panic attack. "Awsome!"
"Now a princess!? Nico what no, why did that lawyer do this to us!?" She cried out as the eyes of the monster flickered towards them. The skeletons, idling around the fallen mercs began to walk over to Thorn but a flash of his tail shattered their bodies, scattering the bones.
"Stay away from them!" Naruto yelled as he took out his yo-yo. Seeing the weapon Thorn stared and raised an eyebrow.
"A... yo-yo. Clearly a most dangerous weapon." He drawled out slowly. "What are you going to do? Around the world me to death?"
"How about this?"
Thorn roared in pain as he jumped to the side as arrows slammed into the place he was before. Looking up he snarled as the moon shattered the clouds, framing a woman with a drawn bow on top of the building. The helicopter turned to aim its weapon at the figure but she was faster. Before the pilot knew what had happened the machine exploded.
"Not today." Thorn swore as he grabbed the stunned Bianca, knocking over Nico in the process. The woman seeing this attacked with skill born by magic and experience but was forced to divide her attention to protect the hunters and the campers.
"Dam him to Tartarus." She muttered as she watched the monster jump off the cliff with the young demigod in tow. Snapping her fingers the remaining monsters and human mercs exploded into dust. Sighing, she looked over the demigods and her hunters. This was going to take a while.
I hope this was an interesting chapter for all of you. If you thought that cannon timeline has been destroyed just wait.
