Summary: Sara just found the perfect gift to ask her girlfriend for her forgiveness once again. The problem is that she got so attached to it that it makes Yae be jealous.
Asking for forgiveness 2
Sara can't help but find herself, once again, staring at Yae's front door puzzled, before a heavy and dejected sigh escapes her lips while she begins to travel through the shrine's hallways on her way to descend the stairs that lead to the sacred place and leave its grounds, letting her feet carry her in between the mount's paths on a calm walk as she thinks on a new way to ask her girlfriend for forgiveness without any kind of help this time, especially from Ei.
Soon, she finds herself navigating through the sea of people filling up Inazuma's streets, not paying any attention or whatsoever to them, before a big pink and furry thing catches her eye, making her halt on her steps to get closer to a humble stall selling merchandising of Inazuma's most influential and important people.
Promptly, the stoic general spots the big pink plushie she saw seconds ago in between all the merchandising, a small smile drawing on her lips unconsciously as she notices the resemblance of it with her girlfriend in her fox form, and if she wouldn't have known better, she'd have actually swear it was her own girlfriend just fluffier and chubbier.
A quiet giggle escapes her lips at this, before she walks to the stall's merchant in question.
- Excuse me, may I know how much does the big pink fox plushie cost?
She asks the merchant, paying him the mora he asks for, before she takes the big pink fox plushie in her arms, squeezing it tightly against her chest as she enjoys its softness and thinks on where to go next, biting her lips as she decides to set out her way back to the Grand Narukami Shrine.
Many minutes later, the general is standing at the top of the stairs that lead to the Grand Narukami Shrine, making sure nobody is around, before she sneaks into the shrine and navigates through the most remote and darkest hallways that she knows by heart by now, until she is once again right in front of her girlfriend's private chambers.
Sara can't help but intake a sharp breath of air, before she knocks on Yae's front door exactly 5 times, waiting patiently for her girlfriend to open the door as she brings her arms behind her back in an attempt to hide behind her the big plushie she carries with as a surprise.
- Sara…
Yae exhales heavily as soon as she opens the door and sees her girlfriend at the other side with a coy smile adorning her features.
- I… I have something for you.
Sara says timidly, almost blushing and Yae can only blink surprised, before she ends up sighing and opening the door completely to let her girlfriend in, not having the heart to let Sara standing outside nor keep being mad at her when she looks so cute and excited.
A soft yet reluctant smile takes over her lips, before she chuckles and arches one of her perfect sculpted eyebrows upon noticing her girlfriend's oddly behavior and the strange way she has to enter her abode and walk as if she was hiding something behind her back.
Yae barely has the time to ask about this, before a big pink fox plushie is shown in front of her, a loud gasp escaping her lips as she looks at her flustered girlfriend partially hidden behind it.
- What…
Yae trails off as she stares dumbfounded at the big pink furry fox plushie in front of her.
- I… I've just saw it on a stall and it looked exactly like you in your fox form, so I had to buy it.
Sara confesses embarrassedly, making Yae's heart skip a beat at such a tender gesture.
- Sara… – she exhales her girlfriend's name completely moved by this.
- I… I know you're still mad at me because I only own merchandising of Ei and nothing of you, but it's because I… – Sara exhales as she tries to put her thoughts in order – I've always admired the Shogun, so buying her statues was the closest I thought I could be of her. The thought of knowing her in person, or even become Ei's friend was something inconceivable to me. But you, on the other hand…
Sara trails off, gazing up at her with nothing but love and fondness in her eyes, making Yae's heart flutter at it.
- You, on the other hand, have always been by my side, taking care of me on your own way – Sara says as a fond smile spreads across her face – You… you love me despite of who and how I am, so I didn't think that owning any kind of merchandising of you could be so important when you're always by my side and I have you for real.
Sara ends up admitting softly, a light blush tinting her cheeks as she takes Yae's hand in hers and leaves a kiss on the back of it, making Yae's heart skip a beat once again.
- Oh, my little bird… – Yae exhales, not knowing what else to say.
- So from now on, I'll buy more of your merchandising if it's so important to you – Sara commits, giving Yae a sweet smile, before she fidgets with the big plushie still in her arms – but... do you think you can forgive me?
She asks innocently, making the pink haired woman laugh, before she pulls her adorable girlfriend into a deep and sweet kiss.
- You don't have to ask, my little bird – Yae says with a fond smile playing on her lips, caressing Sara's cheeks, before she pulls her into another kiss – Now, why don't you stay the night? It's too late for you to plough through the skies on your way back home.
Yae invites Sara to stay with her, seeing her smiling widely, before the pink haired woman takes her by her hand and guides them to her wide bed, placing the big pink fox plushie in the middle of it as the both of them rest at its sides hugging it. And even though it's not as fluffy as she is in her fox form, Yae has to admit the merchants did a good job with it.
She can't help but take a look at Sara, seeing her burying her face completely in the softness of the plushie's fur as she uses to do with her, eliciting a giggle from her, before the other woman gives her a coy smile and interlace their fingers over the plushie's tummy.
- Sweet dreams, Yae. I love you – Sara wishes her tenderly, making Yae smile softly at her.
- Sweet dreams, my little bird. I love you too.
Yae says squeezing Sara's fingers, seeing her smiling widely, before they drift to sleep.
But the happy smile on Yae's face is replaced by a scowl several days later as she visits her adorable girlfriend at the general's home, and finds another replica of her pink fox plushie taking up her girlfriend's bed.
Yae can only arch an eyebrow at this, looking at Sara inquiringly to see her blushing.
- I… I couldn't help it. It's like having your fox form with me, it's adorable and really fluffy.
Sara murmurs embarrassedly and quietly, making Yae snort at it, before she sighs and gets under the blankets with her.
Minutes go by in which the pink haired woman expects and waits for the stoic general to hug her, but much to her dismay, nothing happens, obliging Yae to turn around and see her girlfriend hugging the big plushie tightly instead as a calm expression and smile adorns her features.
And even though she finds the sight rather cute, Yae's eyes twitch at this, anger and jealousy bubbling inside her, before she grumbles and gets out of bed to walk to Sara's side, fighting to take the big plushie off her strong embrace to then put it outside the bedroom.
- Y-Yae!? – Sara asks wide-eyes at her girlfriend, making her snort and narrow her eyes.
- I can't believe it. You have me here by your side, and you still have the impertinence to prefer hugging that lame and hideous imitation of me to sleep, instead of your adorable and lovely girlfriend!
Yae exclaims outraged, making Sara blush hard, before she quickly wraps the pink haired woman tightly in her arms.
- Y-you're right. I'm sorry, there's nothing better as to sleep and hug the real you.
Sara apologizes as she peppers kisses all over Yae's face, making her giggle at how oblivious and silly her girlfriend can be sometimes, before giving in and kissing her deeply, forgiving her once again.
- You're right, there's nothing better.
Yae whispers as she snuggles in Sara's tight and warm embrace, closing her eyes happy to be like that, while a certain big pink furry fox plushie is sat outside the bedroom looking rather sad and lonely.
