Chapter 49: Peace Is Truly Achieved! Onwards To Ever Grande City!

No one said anything at first. But then...

Twilight - "He did it..."

The girls then looked at each other.

Girls - "He Did It!"

The quartet in space then returned to their normal forms as Arceus floated over to them.

Michael - "Nice to see you again Lady Arceus."

Arceus - "Likewise Michael. And boy, do you look the worst for wear."

Michael - "Hehe. I've been through worst. Anyway. Is there something I can help you with?'

Arceus - "I'll be taking Deoxys back to your home for you. And don't worry. I'll make sure he behaves for you as well."

Michael - "Thank you Lady Arceus. That means a lot."

Arceus - "Happy to help my chosen guardian. And I'll be seeing you and the girls when you reach my home region of Sinnoh."

Michael handed Deoxys' Ultra Ball over to Arceus. Arceus then teleported away to Pokémon Island. Soon the quartet flew back towards the Mossdeep Space Center. They found the others waiting for them.

Twilight - "Welcome back!"

Michael - "Thanks Twilight. And sorry for worrying you and the others."

Weiss - "Don't worry about that Michael. We're all just happy to have you all back with us."

Ruby - "Now come on and let's get you over to the Pokémon Center to get patched up."

Michael, Rayquaza, Delcatty, and Espeon were then quickly led over to the Pokémon Center. While Rayquaza and Delcatty had only suffered a few scratches, Michael and Espeon were injured to the point that they were ordered to strict bed rest for the next twenty-four to thirty-six hours. Thankfully, the Meteor Shower event itself wouldn't be till the day after their bed rest period was over. Soon it was time for the Meteor Shower event, with Michael and the girls, along with all their Pokémon, having endless fun during it. After everything was over the party slowly made their way over to Ever Grande City. Upon reaching the entrance of Victory Road, they came across a pair of familiar people.

Michael - "Brendan. Wally. Nice to see the both of you again."

Brendan - "Likewise Michael. So, I'm guess you're doing ok after everything that happened with Lady Rayquaza and Lord Deoxys."

Michael - "Aw. You both saw that huh?"

Wally - "We were together in Sootopolis City watching everything play out. I'll admit I thought you and your Espeon were goners there when Lord Deoxys' attack hit you both. Thank Arceus you both survived."

Michael - "Thanks for the vote of confidence then. Now what say you two join us for the trek through Victory Road?"

Brendan/Wally - "Sure thing."

Soon the party, along with Brendan and Wally, slowly made their way through Victory Road. During the trek, Michael, Wally, and Brendan took turns proving their strength to different trainers throughout the cave. After what felt like forever, the party finally arrived at the Pokémon League.

Ruby - "Finally here."

? - "There you guys are."

Most of the party turned to see a familiar face.

Michael - "Hey Mikey. Long time no see."

Mikey - "Same to you."

Ruby - "What are you doing here Mikey?"

Mikey - "Here to help you girls cheer on Michael."

Yang - "Thanks then Mikey. Michael's gonna need all the support he can get."

Weiss - "Anyway. Let's go ahead and get checked into the hotel."

While Mikey and the girls went to check everyone into the hotel, Michael, Wally, and Brendan went over and quickly registered for the League. Soon the party was back together with everything sorted out. During dinner the following night, Michael was asked by the Professors about the current progress of his PokéDex.

After dinner was over, everyone turned in for the night to be ready for tomorrow's opening ceremony. During the following morning, Michael, along with Wally and Brendan, had gotten up super early to get some last-minute training before the lighting of the torch. Then the trio called training after a good hour and had breakfast, where the girls had joined them.

Twilight - "You three seem eager to get the league under way."

Michael - "And they're actually interviewing us this time as well."

Ruby - "That sounds like fun."

Weiss - "How are you gonna answer the questions Michael?"

Michael - "As honestly as I can."

As the party continued eating breakfast, they talked about their respective journeys since the last time they saw each other. Brendan and Wally both admitted that they've gotten so much stronger since their battles with Michael. Mikey also admitted that despite not taking part in the league challenge itself, he'd still happily support his friends that were in it, which now included Brendan and Wally.

A/N: For those wondering, due to Brendan and Wally's In-Game teams NOT being a full team of six Pokémon. (Brendan has 4 and Wally has 5.) So to make up for this, I've decided to take Pokémon from Manga characters Ruby and Manga Wally to fill in the empty spots. And no, any nicknames Ruby and Manga Wally gave their Pokémon won't be transferred over.

Soon breakfast was over, which then led to everyone heading over to the center stadium for the opening ceremony. After the ceremony, the trainers were taking their interviews. Due to how big his name was, Michael was the final Trainer to have his done. After what felt like forever, it was finally his turn. Michael was led to the media room. There he saw all the press that wanted to ask his questions. Once he was sat down and ready, he began taking questions. Michael then first pointed to a female reporter.

Michael - "You first."

Gabby - "Thank you. Gabby Wave from Hoenn News Network. What inspired you to become a Pokémon Trainer in the first place?"

Michael - "I'm sure a lot of trainers gave you all different answers already. But as for my answer? It's quite simple to travel the world and meet every known Pokémon alongside my friends. And filling up the PokéDex for the Professors is just a secondary goal for that journey as well. You."

Michael then pointed to another female reporter.

Valerie - "Thank you. Valerie Meadow of Sinnoh News. Is it true that you were the one that stopped the Meteoroid containing Lord Deoxys from ending the world?"

Michael - "Yes that's 100% correct. However, I DIDN'T do it alone. It was only due to the combined efforts of me, Lady Rayquaza, Delcatty, and Espeon that we were able to defeat Lord Deoxys. You."

This time Michael pointed to a male reporter.

Timmy - "Thank you. Timmy Shield of Unova News. You mentioned to Professor Rowan earlier during your final PokéDex update that Sinnoh is your next region, correct?"

Michael nodded his head.

Timmy - "Are you aware of just how much Sinnoh's champion, Cynthia, hates your guts?"

Michael - "Yes I am aware of just how much Cynthia hates me."

Michael then smirked.

Michael - "But. I do have a message for Cynthia as well."

Michael gave the camera workers a few moments to get ready for his message. After things were 100% ready, he began.

Michael - "I know you can hear me Cynthia. Sure, you outright hate my guts all because of what your 'benefactor' told you about me. However, you think for a second that I'll let it bug me? Then you've got another thing coming. I fully intend to make sure you see the full truth of the matter. And when you DO see the truth, I'll happily accept your apology."

Suddenly the media crowd tried to swarm Michael as he was escorted out. Soon he rejoined the others for lunch.

Weiss - "Well that was a hell of an interview..."

Michael - "Ah. You guys watched it. Did I embrass myself on there?"

Twilight - "On the contrary. Your challenge at Cynthia is gonna be talked about for a good while."

Ina - "Hopefully none of us get swamped by Michael's fans while we're in Sinnoh."

Roxanne then noticed that Michael was deep in thought.

Roxanne - "Something wrong Michael?"

Michael - "I don't know why, but I have a feeling I'm gonna reunite with Artoria and Azura in Sinnoh."

Yang - "What makes you say that?"

Michael - "Just a gut feeling. That's all it is."

After lunch, everyone went to the different stadiums for the group stage battles. Despite how many signed up, the group stage went by quickly. Mostly do to how quickly Michael plowed through his opponents. Then he did the same for his Round of 128, 64, and 32 opponents. But upon seeing who his Round of 16 opponent was, a young man named Harrison who was also from Littleroot Town like Brendan, he saw that he finally had a worthy opponent.
