Pride and Prejudice
Andrea's Kitchen
Jan's Plan
Everything was peaceful and quiet in Andrea's kitchen as neither Andrea nor Tauna had been writing. Andrea was sitting munching on an apple in a chair against the kitchen's island while her sister sat with her feet propped up on a stool and her back leaning against the wall.
"Have you picked that story of yours back up yet?" Andrea asked Tauna.
"Not yet, it keeps dying out. How about yours?"
"Sort of, I thought the court thing was going to be the big climax and everything seemed to be pointing to, well, let us just say now I do not dare start posting until I can figure the climax out. I do not want to leave a story hanging. So, it is on hold." Just then they heard a man bellowing...loud, very loud and there was no doubt who it was aimed at.
"Andrea!"
"What did you do, Andrea?" Hissed Tauna. "I am even hearing him, and I do not write Pride and Prejudice."
"I have no idea."
"Andrea!" Thomas marched through the door holding up what had to be a script and threw it at her; his face was beyond red, veins in his neck were getting ready to burst and Andrea was pretty sure there was a nearby tea kettle, or pressure cooker, getting ready to blow. "How dare you!"
"How dare I what?"
"I have endured, and can still endure, many things, ... I have lived through all those absurd, foolish, scenarios you concoct for me; I have even found some amusement in the various spouses you assign to me, but Lady Catherine? You cannot be serious, you have got to be joking. I refuse to play along with that ridiculous…nonsense! I demand an apology."
"I wrote no such thing!" Andrea was instantly on her feet and turned her own glare onto Tauna who, in turn, was no longer sitting.
"Don't look at me, as I said, I haven't been writing lately and - other than that one shot Jan helped me with- I do not touch Pride and Prejudice." At the mention of the one shot the light turned on for both of the sisters.
"JAN!"
No answer came, but they heard giggling nonetheless. Andrea and Tauna grabbed a bag of nerf balls each and raced by Mr. Bennet who, in turn, followed suit. Sure enough, Jan had Tauna's laptop under her arms and was now having to run from not only Andrea, but her sister and Thomas as well.
"Give me back my laptop and quit framing me!" Tauna threw a nerf ball towards Jan.
"Do as she says!" Andrea threw her share of balls toward Jan. "I do not appreciate you attempting to shift the blame onto me either."
"I am not marrying Lady Catherine! I will go to my grave a widower before I exchange vows with the likes of her; I will marry her daughter before I marry her! Now give Miss Tauna her laptop back or I will bend you over my knee!"
Colonel Fitzwilliam, who the trio had not seen as they raced out the back door after Jan, sat with his feet stretched out, thought, 'I really need to come up with more ideas for Jan to write, this is quite entertaining and…' He put a handful of flavored popcorn into his mouth. 'This snack tastes quite delicious Jan gave me as payment for getting her Tauna's laptop.' The colonel could also not help wondering, in regard to Thomas' words and Andrea's tendencies, if Mr. Bennet would have been better off keeping his mouth shut.
