It was around two to five in the morning and Kari wanted nothing more than to turn back and fall in her comfortable bed again. Or just keel over and die just to get some rest.
But nope, her teacher had other plans for her at the moment. After Killua accepted to train her in combat, and maybe in Nen later on, he didn't make her wait and the two went to the Digital World to use as training grounds to not call attention.
Sure, Ken had managed to almost take over half of the map with SaberLeomon's help, but that meant half of the map was free, and so they found themselves on a plain landscape with some mountains around them and rivers to use for refreshment.
Killua was wearing his usual attire of a turtle neck blue sweater under a white shirt, blue pants, and purple and white shoes. While she was wearing her PA uniform.
And Killua's methods on training were a bit... Dodgy.
"DODGE!" He yelled as he gave a right hook that sent her to the floor.
She bounced a bit and caressed her cheek. "Yelling dodge is more distracting than helpful."
Her white shirt was now covered in dirt, while Killua stood in front of her with his arms crossed over his chest. His eyes were narrowed as he kept a judging stare on her.
"You're punches are still lacking strength, you're not putting your whole body into it," He lectured. "And your legs haven't gained enough flexibility to go for kicks, doing so makes them clumsy and just leave you more open."
Kari despite her tiredness, listened to the Hunter's lecture. She signed up for this and she was going to go through it.
Her training started at two in the morning. During the first hour she would go through simple exercises like push-ups, sit ups, and drinking plenty of juice her teacher brought for her to stay hydrated. Then the next hour would be for her to meditate, which was kind of... Weird, not in a bad way but she actually felt somehow relieved after those sessions, her mind felt clearer. And the last one would be a spar... In which she hasn't landed a single hit on him, and he wasn't even trying for her...
She didn't know who was the most frustrated about that last part...
It's been a week since their training started and she didn't actually felt like she was advancing. Sure she felt stronger when it came to her muscles, but that's about it. She doubts she can take on a Rookie Level any time soon. On the first day, with Killua's help, she made a split so her legs could stretch even further... It hurt a lot, but it worked though.
"Kari, did you heard me?" Killua asked, snapping her out of her thoughts.
She sat up crosslegged and nodded. "Osu." Another thing she took up was saying that word. Killua had used it when he agreed to help and became something similar to saying 'Rodger' or 'Understood.'
"Good, because there's another half an hour before we go back," He uncrossed his arms and let them fall on his sides. "So come at me."
She sighed and got into position. It was a simple karate position, thought the first time she used it Killua gave her instructions on how to actually use it instead of just posing it for appearance's sake.
And now, she charged. Throwing punch after punch at the boy, who just dodged and dodged each and every time. Some times he would just deviate her punches, causing her to stagger and lose balance. When she tried to go for a roundhouse kick, Killua easily grabbed her leg with no effort and gave her a blank stare. "What did I tell you?"
Then he threw her effortlessly to the side, making her bounce on the floor a few times before she got back up. "I can still try!" She responded.
Killua rolled his eyes and waited for her to come at him. And so they started again, this time with Killua also fighting back so she could work on her reflexes in the middle of the battle. She blocked his punches as best as she could, but even with him obviously holding back, he was too fast for her to avoid getting a hit or two on her.
Killua for his part was getting used to the whole teaching thing. And Kari was showing a good on process for someone who never battled anyone directly, only giving Gatomon the energy to achieve her Digivolution and let her fight. If she could keep this pace up, then maybe she was going to learn Nen more sooner than later. She wasn't going to reach his level soon, but maybe Ken's in a few months.
She tried to give a jab to his face, but Killua leaned out of the way and caught her arm and did a judo throw. Her back slammed against the floor and she gasped out in pain, the air leaving her body. Killua winced in sympathy, but didn't moved to help her yet. They were still sparing and if he was a ruthless person, he would have kicked her while she was down.
It took time to decide an appropriate training for her, but between the two weeks where she tried to take the ball from him, Killua came up with this routine. It was simple, yet intense and a bit brutal. Kari's body wasn't developed for fighting like his, so he had to start from scratch.
And no way he putting her through Bisky's training! Not yet at least. That training would cripple her at best, and kill her at worst.
So with what he could make out of her physical condition during his test, he created this routine. And as long as she kept her willingness to continue, they would go through it all days at the same hour.
Speaking of which.
DING*
The timer he uses to mark the start and ending of each section of the training marked the end of their sparring session. Kari sighed in relief and collapsed on the ground, while Killua smirked and walked to it to pick it up. "Okay, that's it for today... You still awake?"
"Osu." She said, raising a shaky thumb up.
"Then open the portal."
"Osu."
With a flash of light they were back to the kamiya household.
Kari staggered to her bed and collapsed on it. Killua snorted in amusement and walked up to her, she pulled the covers over her and looked at the alarm clock. It read that it was five o clock in the morning, two hours before they had to wake up again to go to the school and the Digital World. She has been adapting well to this schedule, all things considered. She takes naps on the afternoon to save energy, and goes to bed early too.
He pulled the covers and smiled at her sleeping, and for him to be honest cute, face. His mind went back to Alluka and Nanika for a moment, he hoped they were okay, that they could get in contact with Gon so he would help them out. He sighed and left the room. He'll have time to worry for them later, when Ken is dealt with and he can focus on finding a way home.
Izzy passed around the computer room, as he has been doing for the last three weeks. Ever since Killua and Kari told them about that dark ocean world and how it pulled Kari away.
He's being coming up with different theories, but they all fell apart because it was something completly new and without any knowledge about it.
"Usually to go to the Digital World you have to use a Digivice, even when we didn't have the Digiport program or the D-3," He continued to muse. "Then why did this world dragged Kari to it? And why leave her Digivice behind? Did whoever, or whatever that summoned her, to be defenseless?"
All about what he was musing wasn't anything new. But he wasn't the Child of Knowledge for nothing, when he finds a mystery he wanted to find a resolution to it.
But at this moment... He was hitting a brick wall. And neither Killua or Kari were willing to talk more about the issue, not that he blamed them. That world sounded terrifying.
A beeping sound interrupted his thoughts; It was a message from Yolei, from the Digital World. "No sign of the Digi-egg signal we caught this morning. We'll keep looking around."
Oh right. That morning they caught it the signal of a new Digi-egg on one of the non-conquered zones. However, the weird thing was that it seemed to be constantly moving. Luckily nowhere near Ken's zones.
"I see, keep looking around then," He typed back and sighed. He looked up at the clock, it was still early, they had all day too look for the thing. Yet who knows if it could be of use, according to what they told him, when they found the Digi-egg of Friendship none of them could lift it, except for Killua, in which case it was still useless since he didn't have a partner.
The same could be repeated here. But hey, with the Digi-egg of Friendship everything worked out in the end.
He sat down, ready to just let the hours fly, when suddenly.
BAM!*
He jumped and turned to the door, someone had opened with a slam.
"Hey, Izzy!"
Izzy blinked as he recognized the person behind the door. "Mimi?!"
The current pinkette smiled at her friend. "Hi~"
"W-what are you doing here?" He asked. "I thought you were in America!"
Mimi pouted and crossed her arms. "Is that any way to say hello to a friend?" She asked.
"S-sorry..." He said, chuckling in embarrassment and scratching his cheek.
Mimi giggled and smiled broadly at him. "Don't worry about it. And I'm here because you know what's coming soon!"
Izzy cocked his head to the side, an interrogation sign almost appearing above his head, before he realized what she was talking about. "Oh, right! The anniversary!" He said, putting his fist on his open palm.
"Of course, silly!" She said. "And since vacation comes sooner in America, I conviced my dad to let me come. I'll be staying with my cousin, the one who got married. I'm going at Sora's place later for some girl talk and to pick up Palmon."
As she talked she walked to the computer with the Digiport program. Her eyes widened as she saw that the green light was still on. "Hey, the port is still open?"
"Yeah, the kids and Killua are looking for a new Digi-egg at the moment," He explained. "Why do you ask?"
Mimi didn't say anything and just got out her Digivice. "Weeeell~"
V-Mon collapsed on his butt as his stomach started to grumble loudly. "I'm dying here~ Are there no more chocolates?" He asked pitifully.
Davis placed his hand on his stomach. "Now that you mentioned it, I'm hungry too."
Armadillomon unstrapped the bag around his neck and started shaking it. "And we're all outta pudding too!"
"We can continue on this with empty stomachs!" Hawkmon said, his head slumping down.
From the front of the group Killua and Gatomon shook their heads in disappointment. They knew this mission was going to last longer than usual, with the Digi-egg just moving around with no apparent patron, they should have saved more food instead of scarfing everything down before coming.
Kari for her part giggled in sympathetic for their friends. "Then we should go back home. We can continue looking later."
"That won't be necessary," T.K called at the edge of the forest and pointing forward. "Look! There's a restaurant out there!"
Everyone peeked in the direction he was pointing, and just as he said, there was a restaurant crossing the lake. Everyone grinned at the prospect of eating.
Except for Killua. "Hell no!" He snapped.
"Eh? How come, Sparky?" Davis asked crossing his arms.
Killua ignored him and pointed at the restaurant's direction, with a glare. "T.K, I know you were little by that time, but can't you recognize that place?" He asked.
T.K quirked an eyebrow and looked in thw the direction of the dinner building. His eyes narrowing as its form became familiar to him, until it clicked on his mind. "Oh... Yeah, it's that place." He said, with a glare.
"What place?" Cody asked, tilting his head.
"During our first time here, there was a point where we were all separated for a while," T.K explained. "My brother and Joe found themselves forced to work on a dinner, because the boss was working for one of our enemies."
"And because they don't accept the currency from Japan," Killua added. "So even if the owner wasn't a two-faced jerk," He was minding his words around Cody. "We won't be able to pay for food, and it would be Joe and Matt over again."
"Awww man!" Yolei whined. "So we do have to go, right?"
"Hey, if that guys knows you, can you... I don't know, convice him?" Armadillomon offered.
T.K quirked an eyebrow, while Killua's eyes lit up and cat features formed on his face. "You know what, pal? I think you might be into something..."
The Digidestined all flinched at the tone of their leader, and the Digimon gulped. Just what was Killua thinking?
"Thank you, come back later!" Digitamamon said as he saw two loyal clients left his restaurant.
Digitamamon used to be a greedy Digimon. And how could he not? His restaurant was, and still is, the best of the zone, and moreover he lived in a zone with no Digimon Emperor to shoo away his clients. Oh sure, the kid was powerful to slave Champions and all that, but he would never stand a chance against an Ultimate like him. That made his clients feel safe in his restaurant, something that brought some pride on the Digimon's chest.
Digitamamon was also completly unaware of the Emperor's Spirals.
The bell on the door ringed and he straightened himself to welcome his clients. "Welcome, what would you..." He froze as his mind recognized the mop of white hair in front of him.
Killua was smirking as he saw the Digimon, his bangs shadowing his eyes and giving them a cold look on them. "Yo. Do you remember me?"
Digitamamon started sweating cold. The Anomaly, the ally of the Digidestined. The one who slayed Piedmon. And the one whose friends Digitamamon tried to force to work with him under Myotismon's orders. "Y-you are... The Anomaly!"
"Killua is just fine," He said, walking to the counter. "So... How's business doing?"
Despite sounding like a casual question, Digitamamon could see in the boy's eyes that a wrong answer could cost him dearly. "L-listen. I know I did wrong with you and your friends by accepting DemiDevimon's money! B-but I haven't done anything like that again, honest! Ask my employees, they would confirm it! I just want to run an honest business now!"
Killua just kept giving him a smile and an analytical look. Judging if his answer was the right one or not. One hand was supporting his face on the table, while the other drummed his—Sharpened—fingers on it.
He closed his eyes and exhaled. "Okay."
And like that, all tension was gone. "O-okay?"
"Yeah, I believe you," He said. "It's not like you have a new boss to sell us out, not after what happened to the last one," Killua reminded him. "So, if were to come here, with some friends, to eat, would you accept the currency we have?"
Despite the fear and respect he felt towards the white haired boy, the Digimon egg shook his head, which in this case meant his whole body. "It's dollars or nothing!" He exclaimed.
Killua shrugged and got off the stool, walking out of the dinner.
Digitamamon sighed and immediately bolted to the bathroom, his nerves of the situation getting the better of him.
As he got out of the dinner, he was received by the expectant looks of his friends. "So? Can we get in?" Yolei asked.
"The guys seems to have improved from the guy he was back then," Killua said. "But he insists on only paying him on... What what's its name again? ... Oh, Dollars."
The group all slumped down in disappointment. "Why would a Digimon only accepted American currency?!" Yolei whined.
Huh, American. Come to think of it that's where Mimi was living. 'I wonder how she's—""Did someone said American?!" A familiar girly voice asked.
Everyone turned to see a certain pinkette giving her best entrance pose to them. Her body leaning forward and giving them the peace sign. "I am here!" Mimi declared.
Killua's eyebrows twitched. 'Speak of the devil and she shall appear it seems.'
"MIMI!" Yolei shrieked, nearly destroying the windows of the stablishment behind them, and Killua's eardrums.
The bespectacled girl tackled the Child of Purity in a hug and then she started using her crocodile tears to dramatize their situation. "Mimi! The guy in the restaurant won't accept our money, and we've been looking around the whole world for the Digi-egg and our poor, poor partners are about to keel over and die if they don't receive fooooood!" She wailed.
Mimi blinked and looked at the group, only for them to shrug in response. Her eyes went to Killua, only to see his eyebrows twitching rapidly and she almost let out a snort, no doubt he still remebered their shopping spree.
Back to the sobbing girl on her shoulder, Mimi patted her back good-naturedly. "There, there, it's all okay. I heard you say that this place only accept dollars?"
"That's what the egg said," Killua told her, pointing back to the restaurant.
Mimi smirked and continued to pat the girl. "Then I am your salvation!"
Yolei looked up at her with stars on her eyes, while the other kids smiled and the Digimon cheered.
They all set their plates down with a satisfied smiles. "Aaah! That hit the spot!" Davis and V-Mon declared, holding their stomachs.
Everyone was smiling contently after a good meal, a reward for all their futile search on the furtive Digi-egg. Mimi and Yolei were off at the counter to pay off for their meals.
Yolei was also giving the owner a piece of her mind. "I'm just saying, you are reducing your clientele by just accepting one kind of currency out of thousands there is!"
"Look, girly, there's only one kind of money I like and so the others are pieces of paper! You are lucky that your friend here has something, or else I'll put you to scrub my toilets so you can pay me!"
"Why you!" Yolei started to growl, ready to pounce on the rotten egg for the disrespect. 'This guy is the worst and Killua and T.K said he tried to exploit Joe and Matt in the past! That's it you rotten egg, you are in my bad list now, I don't care if Killua or Mimi say you're fine now!'
A gentle tap called her attention back to Mimi, who was giving her a vibrant smile. "Just let it go, Yolei, I'm okay with paying right now. Daddy gave me a good amount of money to expend... Although..." Her glance went sideways.
Killua was grinning as his third plate of ice-cream was put in front of him. The other two plates completly empty.
"I think someone is taking advantage of this a little too much," She half-growled.
"Who knew Killua was into sweets so much," Yolei muttered.
"I promise this is the last one~" Killua said, though no one seemed to believe him.
Mimi just sat down in front of him with a huff. "Honestly, I just can't see how someone so small like you can eat so much."
Killua quirked an eyebrow. "Small?"
Mimi smiled teasingly at him. "Well, for me you are small~"
"You are sixteen! I'm fourteen, I'm still growing!" He snapped.
"Then you sure are taking your time~" Hey, he was eating away at her expense, at least he could tease him a bit.
"Why you-" Killua's eyebrow twitched and he just sat down with a huff, taking a spoonful of ice-cream. 'I definitely will never get women at all!' He raged inside.
"Anyways," Kari chuckled awkwardly. "Why are you back on Tokyo, Mimi?"
"Well, I'm already on my summer break, so I came back to be around for when the anniversary comes," She explained.
Both Killua and the new kids tilted their heads. "Anniversary?" They asked together.
"Oh, right, this will be the first one you are with us Killua!" T.K said, sounding a bit excited. "Ever since the first time we went to the Digital World, we reunite all the time on the first of August, since that's the day we first went to the Digital World."
"Yup," Mimi chirped. "Although since I moved out to America one year after our adventure ended, at the beginning of the 2000, I had to be in them through video-call."
Yolei perked at the mention of the year. "The 2000? ... You know, I remember something weird happening on that year."
"Weird how?" Hawkmon asked her.
"Well, there was this weird email on my brother's computer with a link that sent us to a strange video... It was about monsters fighting each other."
The veterans all turned to her with wide eyes, as they recognized what she was talking about. "That video was... When Diaboromon appeared!" T.K realized.
"Diaboromon?" Davis and Cody asked.
"It was some strange virus Digimon, from what my brother and Izzy told us," Kari explained.
"I remember that! That Digimon almost sent us to a nuclear war!" Mimi said, remebering when she was on the beach and a missile just falling on the middle of the ocean.
"Now hold the phone!" Killua told them, and he turned to the two boys of the new generation. "You guys, do you remember something related to Digimon, before you received your Digivices?" He asked the two.
Davis scratched his arm and nodded. "Yeah I... One night me and my family were suddenly taken from our house and dragged to the Tokyo Big Sight building."
Kari hid back her flinch and eyed her friend with sympathy and a bit of guilt. "That's when Myotismon came to Tokyo..." Inwardly she added. 'To look for me...'
Killua nodded and then turned to Cody. The boy was cupping his hands and thinking really hard. "I think something similar happened to me... But I always thought it was a dream..." He mumbled. "My mom, my grandfather and I were on plane, coming back from a vacation, when suddenly it started plummeting down. Then a giant bird suddenly caught us and set the plane down."
"That's when the Digital World appeared on the sky!" Patamon realized. Remembering how MegaKabuterimon and Garudamon helped a plane to stop from falling.
Killua nodded again and went back to his ice-cream. "As I thought, it's the same criteria from how you guys," he pointed at the veterans, "were chosen." He looked at the new guys. "You guys all had contact with the Digital World prior to getting your Digivices and that's how you got chosen for this job."
"But thousands, if not millions of other kids saw those incidents," Cody said. "Why us specifically?"
Mimi giggled. "I used to ask me the same question before. But that just means there is something special about you guys."
That took the kids by surprise and they reacted differently. Davis puffed out his chest, Cody scratched the back of his head in embarrassment, while Yolei was just waving away the compliments, while at the same time looking ready to embrace them.
Killua for his part saw another part to all of this. 'If that's all true, then my theory about Ken becomes more solid. He is a Digidestined with all the letters, but something make him lose his trait and now he sees Digimon as play things.'
A rumble interrupted his thoughts and everyone else's. He shoveled his ice-cream on his mouth, luckily avoiding the brain freeze, and bolted out of the restaurant with everyone on toe.
From the forest, at the other side of the lake, the source of the rumble could be heard. The trees snapped in half as a trio of roaring Digimon similar to albino gorillas with a cannon on their arms appeared. Dark Spirals attached to their arms.
"Ah shit, are they Ultimates?!" Davis asked, recognizing that Ken uses his new invention on that level.
"No, they're Gorillamon, Champions," Gatomon explained.
"Ken is basically showing off his new toy," Killua said, sharpening his claws.
One of the Gorillamon opened fired at them before they could get their Digivices out. However, something got in the way of the blast and was launched off over the restaurant.
"That was-" Cody gasped.
"Digitamamon?!" Yolei exclaimed in shock. 'He defend us?' Her mind was wrapping around over the fact that her early assumptions on the Digimon were wrong.
"How dare you!" Davis growled and got his Digivice out. "Let's do this!"
"I think just the two of us will do," Killua told him, Ren flaring up.
"Digimental Up!"
"V-Mon Armor Digivolves to... Raidramon the storm of Friendship!"
The two lighting users charged forward, dodging the blasts of the monkey Digimon without any kind of problem. The two jumped over the lake, yet the gorilla planted themselves on the shore, not giving them space to land. "Raidramon, make them step back!" Killua told him.
"Got it!" The lighting Digimon said and jumped over the lake while charging lighting on his horn. "Lighting Blade!"
Three volts of electricity were shot towards the group, all of them pushing them back slightly to give some room for the armored Digimon to land. They growled and pointed their weapons at him to fire their attack, but Killua landed in front of them and started walking to them using the Echo Rhythm and creating illusions of him.
Confusion was written over the possessed Digimon's faces and they pointed to the Killuas with indecision, before firing without discrimination. All of the illsuions of the boy disappeared, but there was no trace of the original.
"Lighting Palm!" From behind the tree Gorillamon received a strong discharge of energy that caused them to become rigid.
Killua smirked and kicked all of the monkeys towards the lake and nofded to the armored Digimon. "Do it now, Raidramon!"
"Okay!" Raidramon leaped up and charged electricity on his back. "Blue Thunder!"
The strike of electricity struck the lake and caused the damage to really hurt the Digimon in it. The charge of lighting proved too much for the Dark Spirals and they were destroyed, freeing the gorillas.
The poor monkeys swam out of the pond, twitching in pain and shivering at the sane time.
The three Digimon were bowing on the floor in a sign of apologize to the group. Mimi was caressing one of them on the head. "Oh, you poor things. You were all forced to do bad stuff. But it's all okay now, you can go back home."
The three Digimon raised and nodded their heads before turning back and going to the forest. Any sign of the destructive nature they possessed was gone along with the Spirals.
Mimi puffed her cheecks and put her hands on her hips. "That brat of an Emperor! Making such pacific Digimon do things like this!"
"Yeah, we can all agree on the fact that Ken is a S.O.B, but now I have a question... Where's Digitamamon?" Killua asked, while looking around.
Everyone remebered the egg-Digimon receiving the blast from one of the Gorillamon and started to look around. "Hey, that's right, where did he landed?" Yolei asked, wanting to thank and apologize to the Digimon.
"He could be injured after that attack..." Mimi mumbled in worry.
"That blast send him quite away..." Kari said. "T.K, what do you say if we look for him on air?"
"Good idea," He nodded and got his D-3 out.
With a flash of light both Pegasusmon and Nefertimon appeared, carrying their partners to scout the zone for any signs of the Digimon.
Killua turned to the rest of the group. "We better spread out and look for him too."
"Umm, sparky?" Davis called and pointed behind him.
Turning around, they saw how a familiar egg rolled from a hill and landed in front of them, completly upright. 'Well, that's convenient.' Killua deadpanned.
"Digitamamon is that you?" Mimi asked, just to be sure it was the restaurant's owner.
"... Yes, it is me," He responded on a gruff voice.
Mimi smiled and clasped her hands together with a smile. "What a relief!"
Yolei gulped and sighed 'Better to apologize now.' She thought.
The crack where Digitamamon's eyes were visible appeared. His yellow eyes replaced by blood-red. "I was launched far away, but I managed to come back all by myself! Not thanks to you."
Killua glared at him at noticing his eyes. 'Crap.'
Yolei noticed it too and stiffened. 'Something's wrong here.'
Mimi started running towards him with excitement, wanting to thank him for protecting them. "You shouldn't have done it, but I'm really thankful for what you did."
"Mimi stand back!" Killua barked, causing the girl to froze on her tracks. The boy sharpened his claws and got in position. "He's dangerous now."
"Something in him it's different!" Yolei confirmed to her.
Digitamamon growled and his egg cracked to allow his legs to appear. "You will pay me a good amount of money for using my body as a shield!" He told them.
"I knew something smelled rotten here," Yolei grumbled and got her Digivice out. "Mimi, stand back! Digimental Up!"
"Hawkmon Armor Digivolves to... FlyBeemon! The Soaring Knowledge!"
Digitamamon charged with the intention of hurting Mimi, since she was not only the closest but also the most vulnerable target at being without her partner. FlyBeemon got in the middle to try and defend her, but with a single headbutt to his gut, Digitamamon had managed to bring him to his knees. "Ugh!"
Killua charged at him and gave a kick to the side of the egg's head. It resisted fairly well, not even showing a crack. Killua frowned and started to give the shell costant swipes with his claws, yet none seemed to pierce it. "What are you made off?!" He exclaimed. 'Then again, I'm not aiming to kill him... But I can't see where the Ring or Spiral is either.'Digitamamon's legs, the only visible part of him aside from his eyes, were free from either of the Emperor's tools. Sowithout a point to focus his attacks, he could only try and slow him down without wanting to cause permanent damage.
"V-Mon, round two?" Davis asked, holding his Digivice.
"Maybe not as Raidramon, but Flamedramon is wanting to kick ass!"
Cody brandished his Digivice too. "Armadillomon, what do you say?" He asked.
"I say is Go-Time!" The yellow Digimon said.
"Digimental Up!"
"V-Mon Armor Digivolves to... Flamedramon! The Courageous Fire!"
"Armadillomon Armor Digivolves to... Pteramon! The Armed Love!"
Killua leaped back to give the Digimon a chance to crack this egg. Flamedramon's fist light up in flames and he started delivering a barrage of punches on the Digimon. "Fire Knuckles!"
None of them seemed effective and Digitamamon just pushed him away.
From the sky, Pteramon nose-dived with his wings glowing a silver color. "Sharp Wings!" He slashed at the shell of the Digimon, yet nothing seemed to happen to his protection. "The hell?!"
The three Digimon, plus the Anomaly, gathered together and surrounded the possessed Digimon. "Maybe if we attack at the same time we can knock him out!" Flamedramon proposed.
"Wait!" Mimi suddenly cried out and put herself in between Digitamamon and her friends. "Please, stop for a moment."
"What?! Why?!" Flamedramon asked.
"Mimi, what are you doing?!" Killua hissed. "Now's not the time!"
Mimi ignored them and turned to the restaurant owner. "Digitamamon listen, we all know you are being controlled by the Emperor, just tell us where the ring or the spire is and we can help you!"
"No one is controlling me! This is who I am! My true self!" The egg admitted, his red eyes glaring at the pinkette.
"To quote Killua: Bullshit!" She called out.
"... Should I be offended?" The Hunter asked to no one in particular, with a sweatdrop.
"What you're saying isn't the truth," Mimi continued, looking down at the round Ultimate.
Digitamamon was just as stubborn as her. "It is the truth!"
"Mimi, please step aside!" Yolei asked her, while glaring at the Digimon. "He doesn't even have a spiral, maybe what he's saying is true."
"It is not," Mimi told her. "And I'm sure Digitamamon will listen to reason."
"Last time we tried to reason with a possessed Digimon, we were only saved by a malfunction on the Dark Ring!" Killua countered. "Something Ken made sure to fix!"
"Yeah, this is crazy!" Davis told her, wanting to keep the currently partnerless girl out of danger.
"Just let me do this for a second okay!?" She snapped and turned back to the Digimon.
Killua scoffed and stuffed his hands on his pockets. "Damn her stubbornness."
Yolei was giving Mimi a look of concern and confusion. 'Mimi, how can you trust someone like that?'
Mimi walked to Digitamamon, her eyes holding hope that she could reason with him. "Killua told me what you say to him. You wanted to make an honest business. You aren't the same as five years ago, so why throw everything away?"
For a moment, Digitamamon's eyes softened, but the glare came back. "I said that so the Anomaly would leave me alone, to not cause damage to me or my restaurant."
Killua rolled his eyes, but kept his position. 'Now he dumps it one me?'
For her part, Yolei frowned in disappointment at Digitamamon's words. Part of her wanted to believe he was lying, but with no visible ring, it seemed that her early thoughts on him were true. The guy was bad news. 'I knew it...'
Mimi was still refusing to believe on the egg's words. "You're lying," She said with a soft voice. "If that were the case then why didn't you tried to rip off for money? Or try and force us to work for you like with Matt and Joe?"
Yolei was taken back by the pinkette's insistence on the Digimon's innocence. 'Mimi... How can you be so nice?' For her part, she didn't liked Digitamamon's closed mind on not accepting yen, but this was just pushing her to the edge.
"Shut up!" The egg barked angrily. "Just stop talking!"
"No, I won't! Not even if you ask me nicely!" She barked back, clenching her fists. "I don't care if you push me away, I won't stay quiet!"
"ENOUGH!" Digitamamon has finally grown tired of the girl's insistence and tackled her in the stomach. Tha air escaped Mimi and she fell on her back.
"Mimi!" Everyone gathered around her to check on her condition.
Killua looked up to glare at Digitamamon. "Bastard! You've done it now!" He said with a growl and letting his Nen flow. "Get ready!" He told the armored Digimon.
"W-wait!" Mimi gasped out. "Don't hurt him... Just help him go back... To be himself."
"Help him..." Yolei asked. Even after everything, Mimi was still wanting to help this Digimon, after he hurt her. This... This was. "YOU SON OF A ROTTEN EGG!"
The outburst caught everyone by surprise, Digitamamon glaring at the girl. "What did I just said?! I told you all to shut u-"
"No, you shut up!" Yolei said, while marching to him. "Just what is going on inside of that hard shell of yours?! Since the beginning I pegged you as a jerk! First that story Killua and T.K told us, then the fact that you don't accept Yen, and now this?! I had enough! Possessed or not!"
"Listen girly-"
"Quiet girl- I told you I'm not possessed this is who-"
"I don't care!" She yelled, pressing her forehead against his shell and giving him the mother of all glares. "When you protected us from Gorillamon, I really thought you were good, but if you are falling so low as to attack someone who's trying to help you then you're beyond help! And let's not start on your looks!"
"My what now?" Digitamamon at this point was just baffled that this was actually happening.
"Your looks! You're all closed up, you literally need to come out of your shelf more often so more people, like me, would like you! Because people like me sometimes like what's on the outside more," It was obvious this tirade was something beyond just Digitamamon. "I like people who look good and approachable! Killua and Davis could be that if they weren't jerks!"
"HEY!" The two boys yelled out.
"It's the truth!"
"But you shouldn't say it..."
On the sky, while continuing looking for Digitamamon, and unaware of the situation with their friends, T.K noticed something shining below. "Kari! Look at that?"
"Uh?" The girl looked down and saw a green glow dashing out of the forest. "It's going in direction of the restaurant!"
"Kari, I think that's the Digi-egg we were looking for," Nefertimon told her.
"If it's going to the restaurant then... You think something might be happening there?" Pegasusmon asked.
"Better go investigate," T.K said and the four went back to the restaurant by the lake where their friends were.
A green glow floated outside of the forest. Moving calmly through the air, before stopping in front of Yolei. "I-Is this-?!"
"The Digi-egg!" Cody exclaimed. "The one we were looking for!"
"That symbol... The Digi-egg of Purity!" Mimi gasped, recognizing her Crest on the object.
"Purity and Yolei?" Davis asked, his face falling. "I... I can't see it."
Killua was staring at Yolei as he cupped the egg on her hands. 'Her purity comes from the blunt form she expresses herself. Pure honesty, I suppose.' He thought with amusement.
"Yolei!" FlyBeemon reverted back and Hawkmon smiled at her. "Let's try it!"
"Okay... Digimental Up!"
"Hawkmon Armor Digivolves to..." Unlike other evolutions, Hawkmon wasn't covered in an armor, instead he was covered by typical ninja robes. His arms and legs becoming spring-like limbs, with the arms having shurikens attached to them, and on his back was a giant shuriken. All of this weapons making honor to his new name. 'Shurimon! The Ninja of Purity!"
While everyone stared at the new armored Digimon in awe and shock, he didn't wasted time in attacking their current enemy. "Flying Chainsaw!" His arms shot forward with the shurikens he has for hands spinning to shred anything on their path.
Digitamamon closed his shell and the weapons bounced off him. "Such a crude attack will never hurt me! Nightmare Syndrome!" From the gap where his eyes were visible, an specter made of darkness was launched at the group.
"Guys, protect them! I will deal with Digitamamon!" Shurimon said while jumping over the Nightmare Syndrome attack.
The two Digimon plus the Hunter all stood in front of the kids. Flamedramon and Killua grabbed the arms of the spectre, while Pteramon stood to the side, not able to do much.
In the air, Shurimon looked down at Digitamamon and noticed something glistening inside of his shell. His eyes widened and realized what it was. 'The object controlling him must be in there!' He grabbed the shuriken on his back and launched it at the egg. "Flying Chainsaw!"
The big ninja star struck the egg right on his opening and got stuck, preventing the Digimon from closing again.
Noticing this, Digitamamon turned and tried to escape, but a pair of familiar golden ropes wrapped themselves around them and hung him upside down for Shurimon to give a clear shot. "Hawkmon, is that you?!" Kari asked in surprise.
"So the Digi-eggs was Yolei's!" T.K connected the dots.
Shurimon reared his arm back and launched it forward, stretching to the interior of their enemy's shell. "Flying Chainsaw!"
The interior of Digitamamon was an endless void, that could even be confused as a whole new dimension. And inside of that dimension was a Dark Spiral floating aimlessly, until the shuriken destroyed it.
Digitamamon coughed the remains out of his body and his Nightmare Syndrome disappeared.
"Nice going, Shurimon!" Yolei said giving a thumbs up, while everyone sighed in relief at the end of the fight.
Digitamamon slowly opened his eyes and sat up, noticing Mimi at his side. "W-what happened?"
"Digitamamon are you okay?" Mimi asked, concern on her face.
"Yeah, did you free me?" He asked as he got up.
Mimi shook her head and pointed to Yolei, who was standing in front of the group wringing her hands. "It was Yolei who did so."
"I see," Digitamamon walked to her and bowed. "Thank you for helping me, Yolei."
"I-it was nothing," She said, looking at the Digimon kind of awkwardly. "I... I'm sorry about the things I said before, now that I know you were possessed I see they were... Out of place."
"Don't worry about it," Digitamamon said, giving her an eye smile. "It's thay pure honesty that helped break free."
Yolei just scratched her cheek sheepishly. "Ehehehe thanks," She said. "And thanks to you, Mimi. It is the Digi-egg with your Crest that helped us out."
"No problem!" Mimi smiled kindly... Then she fell a tap on her arm. "Eh?"
A Sukamon... With a platinum color and with no Chuumon was smiling at her. "Hey there cutie pie~ Would you want a kiss from me?"
Mimi processed what the thing in front of her was and after realizing this wasn't the same Sukamon that was friends with her adorable friend Chuumon, she grew disgusted. "OH HELL NO!" And with a powerful right hook he sent the Digimon flying across the lake.
Killua's jaw dropped and he used Gyo to look at Mimi's fist. "And that was a punch without Nen?!" Holy shit, remind Killua to never get on Mimi's bad side ever again.
Yolei clasped her hands and gushed. "I just knew Mimi was special!"
As night fell, on another part of the Digital World...
The Digimon Emperor sighed as he finished creating another motor for his project, using his ability. It takes time to create something so complex, but he had the pieces and the knowledge on how to do it. "That should do..."
"Um, master?"
He rolled his eye as he heard Wormmon entering the engine room. "What is it?"
"Well... According to the cameras the kids have another Digi-egg," He informed.
The Emperor held back a groan. Another annoyance to deal with leader. "Okay, that might prove to be troublesome later. But..." He smirked. "With my new projects in process, it doesn't matter how many eggs they fins, they will never stand a chance!"
He put his cape and gloves back on and turned around. "And where's Blademon?" He asked the insect.
"On the training room... Again," Wormmon informed.
"Okay. Tell him I have a task for him."
"What a boring chapter! Honestly you're not missing anything."
"Stay tuned! Next chapter has a rematch I'm sure none of you were waiting!"
