In the silent of the night in the Digital World, the Emperor allowed himself a smirked as he flew over a Digimon settlement with an ancient style.
"Here's your stop," The Emperor told one of the other passengers.
Blademon hoisted his blade over his shoulder and smirked. "Leave it to me master, this place will be ours overnight."
With that he leaped off the dragon's back and towards the ground below.
The night on Odaiba made the lights shine the brightest. The city's artificial lights bathed everything that could be seen. It was a soothing night for many, and in this time of peace... The Digidestined took sometime for themselves.
Laughter resonates on the bathroom of the Motomiya family. Demiveemon wiggled adorably on Davis' arms as the two took a bath on the tub. "Hahaha! Stop it Davish!"
"You stay still! I have to wash you good!" Davis couldn't help but grin as his little partner continued to wiggle on his grasp. The soap and shampoo on him making him a bit slippery.
"But you're tickling me! Tickling! Tickling!" The small blue Digimon laughed as he tried to escape his partner's grip.
"Hey, stay still!" Davis chuckled. "Or they're going to hear you!" He said, referring to his family.
Demiveemon finally decided to have revenge on his partner and charged at him, knocking him into the water. When they resurfaced, Davis was summited to the same torture his partner suffered: Tickling on his belly.
"Pfahahahahaha! Demiveemon stop!" He bursted out as his partner attacked feverishly.
On the kitchen of the house, Jun heard the ruckus coming from the bathroom. Her parents far too distracted by some comedy show on the tv. She walked to the hallway and heard the laughter coming from the bathroom and raised an eyebrow. "Oh great, he finally snapped. Now he's laughing all alone in the bathroom."
On the Inoue home, Yolei was glaring daggers at the tv, a special report on the news showing a face she formerly thought as cute and now could only relate it to nothing more than disgust and repulsion; the face of one Ken Ichijouji.
"It's been two months since the disappearance of the boy genius Ken Ichijouji, there has been no sign of him in this period of time. The police believes he might've been involved on some accident, according to his family's testimony," before the reporting could continue, the TV changed to a movie about ninjas fighting with their swords.
Poromon gave a silent gasp of surprise and admiration. His most recent evolution bearing similarities to the people on the screen. Could he do all the stunts they were pulling?!
Yolei wasn't so amused. She turned angrily at the person behind her. "Dad! I was seeing that!" She whined.
"It's bedtime already," The man said, holding the control. "You have school tomorrow."
Yolei puffed her cheeks in annoyance, but complied anyways. Grabbing her pillow and stomping to her room.
Her older brother was walking carelessly while holding a hair dryer on his hand, he stumbled on Poromon who did his best to not react. "Agh! Yolei, keep your plushies out of the way."
"Okay, okay!" She huffed and grabbed Poromon while muttering under her breath. "Freaking patriarchy."
Once on her bed, she decided to send a message to her friends via the D-Terminal. Check if the Emperor has been advancing on his conquest or if they could regain the territories SaberLeomon conquered.
The message reached everyone on the list of contact.
However not all of them at the same time.
Some where... Busy at the moment.
"Dodge!" Killua's fist impacted against Kari's face, sending her staggering back.
As she regained balance, she hold her cheek and glared at him. "I keep telling you! Yelling dodge is more distracting!" She said.
"That's half of the magic on it," He replied while keeping his hands on his pockets. "It keeps you focused."
Kari's pout showed that she disagrees with that sentiment. "Well then..." She charged at him, keeping her body low and scooping a bit of sand on her hands as she ran to him and launched it at him to blind him. Killua raised his arms and Kari reared her fist back. "Dodge!"
To her surprise, Killua moved out of the way, still with his eyes closed, and grabbed her arm to do a judo throw that left her on the ground.
He opened his eyes and gave her a deadpan expression. "Did you honestly expected that to work?" He asked.
"In all honesty? ... No," She admitted, blinking to regain a bit of her senses after that last throw.
"Thought so," Killua snarked. "Take five, we'll be moving to the next training."
Kari blinked. "Next?" She didn't know the white haired hero has planned another part for her training.
After she took her minutes to regain her breath, Killua guided her to a new place of the plain landscape where they've been training. It was a small clearing with a wood trunk, with pillows tied around it.
"Where did you get those?" She couldn't help but ask.
"Surprisingly... From a nearby place where they literally grow on trees..." Killua said. "The Digital World is weird." He admitted causing the girl to giggle.
In reality he might or might have not steal those away from some nearby villages... But what she doesn't know won't hurt her.
"I've set this thing so you can practice your kicks and some punches," He explained.
Kari walked forward and gave a hit to the trunk. Despite being covered in fluff pillows, it still stung a bit. But then according to Killua that was a good thing, so she supposed it could work.
"Start with kicks, give it kicks to the side and when I say change then you change to kick with your other leg," He explained. "Got it?"
"Osu!" She said, extending her arms to her sides.
"Very well then," He took a few steps back to give her space and she fell in position. "Begin!"
One Geckomon ran across the streets of Little Tokyo. His face a twisted with fear and nervousness at the city's current condition. "Oh God! Oh God! Oh God!" He kept muttering, even as an explosion rang behind him.
He reached the palace where their leader was sleeping. ShogunGeckomon, after the defeat of the Dark Masters, has tried to reform himself after treating his former subjects so bad and getting his ass handed to him by the Digidestined. As long as they didn't awoke him from his naps.
"Sir! Sir!" But desperate times called for desperate measures.
ShogunGeckomon cracked his eyes opened and he glared at the small Geckomon. "What?!"
"T-The Reaper!" Geckomon gasped out. "The Emperor's Reaper is here! And he's planted a Control Tower on the town!"
"WHAT?!" The giant Digimon roared and got off his massive futon. He pulled a rope on the ceiling and a platform started raising from where he was seating, the small Geckomon scrambling to get on too. The ceiling opened and allowed the platform to raise above it, so the governor of the city could see the tragedy with his own eyes.
Standing there, just at the edge of his beautiful town, overlooking them all, was a tower of a black color.
"WHAAAAAAT?!" He cried out. The tower just mocking him by standing there.
"Sir, there's no doubt! It's just like the one from the Mori-Mori forest!" The Geckomon informed him, looking through a scope.
"I can't believe he already made it here!" ShogunGeckomon cried. "Damn the Emperor and his Reaper! Gecko!"
"Owch," A voice called from behind them. "I have feelings, ya know?"
They turned to see the hooded Digimon under the Emperor's orders standing there with his arms crossed. "Like the views, my shogun?" He asked on a mocking tone. "It's about to get better," He said, snapping his fingers.
From the tower, a swarm of Dark Rings started to fly across the town. The Digimon survivors of the attack of the Reaper all tried to run away, but the objects of darkness caught them and forced their will on them.
"Damn you!" ShogunGeckomon growled as he glared at the Reaper. "Take this! Music Punc-"
He didn't get to finishe his attack, as Blademon was suddenly on his body, his sword digging itself of the Shogun's shoulder. "I like my eardrums where they are, thank you very much," He said and produced a Dark Spiral from his cloack. "Now, Shogun..." He smirked, his teeth visible on the darkness of his hood. "How about some remodeling?"
With summer around the corner, came a change on everyone's attire. And not even Killua wasn't an exception, instead of his usual clothes, he was now wearing a black vest over a white shirt with a blue lightning bolt on it, blue shorts, and red and white shoes.
Davis was wearing a blue vest over a blue and white striped shirt, brown shorts, and a pair of yellow wristbands.
Yolei was wearing a red beret hat, a green shirt and dark green jeans.
T.K was wearing a pale brown shirt with green short sleeves, and blue shorts.
Cody a pale white shirt, with brown shorts.
And Kari was wearing a pink shirt with diamons on it, dark pink shorts, a yellow neckerchief, a pink watch on her left hand and some wristbands on her right. She looked cute.
Killua blinked. 'Huh, where did that came from?' He asked himself before focusing on the task at hand.
"The Emperor has been really quiet recently," T.K commented. "It's bothering me how we haven't heard anything from him."
"It's been this way since he forced Agumon to evolve," Kari pointed out. Even though he sent Leomon on them, he never showed his face.
"True," Yolei said as she sat down. "But that doesn't mean he's been slopping around. Just look at how fast he's spreading, even now that he's lost his Generals."
They looked at the grid map and could see how the dark blocks were expanding fast. Covering all the grey or white areas, his territory growing by without any kind of control.
"Generals or not he still has his two attack dogs, Stigmon and Blademon," Killua reminded. "They can be doing all his dirty work."
Davis huffed and crossed his arms. "So the prick doesn't have time to play with us?" He asked with sarcasm.
"He must be planning something big..." Cody muttered. "He never stayed out of sight for too long. I don't like it."
"Well, let's give him a surprise!" Davis said, punching his fist on his palm.
"We have to return the territories he's been conquering!" T.K declared.
Everyone nodded, their determination set. The Digidestined pointed their Digivices to the gate. "Digiport Open! Let's go Digidestined!" Yolei yelled her chant.
"I'm still not getting used to that," Killua grumbled under his breath as the light sucked them on.
Turns out, the Digital World has changed the new generation's attires again. Maybe to match with what they were wearing.
Davis was using a sleeveless vest version of his jacket with flames, with the same fur lining, and his gloves turned to fingerless combat gloves while keeping their yellow color.
Yolei now had red shorts, the same helmet on her head and gloves on her hands, and her long sleeves turned to short ones.
And Cody's long baggy sleeves turned short, and was now sporting gloves similar gloves to Yolei's but his were grey.
T.K, Kari and Killua conserved their usual attires.
"Huh, cool!" Davis grinned. "New outfits!"
"Leave that for later," Killua told him as he looked at his surroundings, noticing they have appeared on the middle of a town. "What is this place?"
"What a strange place," Yolei agreed, eyeing the town.
"It reminds me of the movie your dad put on last night!" Hawkmon said, remembering the ninjas resembling his new evolution.
"Let me guess," Kari said, a small smile on her face. "A movie from Sumasa-Tokyo Cinema Studios?"
"Kinda looks like the old town of Edo," Cody said.
"Not surprised the Digital World would have a place like this," T.K said, then he narrowed his eyes as he looked in the distance. "But look."
They all looked at the edges of the town, one of the Control Towers resting peacefully and being a constant reminder of the Emperor's invading presence.
"Guys..." Killua said, his hands sharpening. "We're not alone."
All around the town, red eyes glared at them. From the buildings, from under the bridges, behind alleyways, inside of barrels of all things. Digimon sporting Dark Rings surrounding them from all sides.
"This is bad," Cody muttered as the group kept themselves close.
"No shit, kiddo," Davis said and turned around to Killua. "So, fearless leader, what now?"
Killua was silent for a moment before turning to them. "If they engage us, don't evolve. I can't sense any power on the Digimon surrounding us. Their Rookies, at best."
And all hell broke loose. "Get them!" A Mushroommon called ans from all around the town, Mushroommon and Floramon charged at the Digidestined, surrounding them from all sides.
"Allergy Pollen!" The group of Floramon called, liberating a yellow cloud to the group.
"Mushroom bomb!" The group of Mushroommon called as they launched their attacks.
The Digidestined all started running away from the attacks while their Digimon kept the Rookies at bay. "Move out!" V-Mon started swinging his arms in circles so fast they seemed like fans and charged through a hord of Mushroommon.
"Boom Bubble!" With the blast of pressurized air, Patamon made the cloud of pollen from the Floramon to hit them instead.
"Take this!" Armadillomon rolled up himself and barreled through the possessed group of Digimon like they were pines on a bowling game.
"Allergy Pollen!" A lone Floramon tried to attack Gatomon.
The Champion's eyes glowed pink as she stared at the incoming Digimon. "Cat's Spell."
The Floramon stopped and turnes the attack on herself, the pollen causing her to lose all will to fight. So she just sat on her back, lazily. "Meh, why fight when I can work on my tan?"
Some Mushroommon all jumped on Killua to try and dogpile on him. The boy just stood there with his hands on his pockets, he didn't even seemed to move, yet mere inches before they reached him their rings broke and they fell unconscious on the ground. The boy just shrugged and walked towards the direction where his friends have run off.
Hawkmon was running alongside a Mushroommon, the latter launches his Mushroom Bomba at the avian Digimon but Hawkmon took the feather on his headband and threw it at the bombs. "Iron Feather!" The feather cut through the bombs, detonating them before they could reach him.
The Mushroommon growled and turned tail to run away. Hawkmon retrieved his feather, but something caught his attention from the corner of his eyes.
He leaped in time to see a very familiar weapon crashing on the place where he was standing. "A shuriken!" He recognized.
"Impressive! You dodged my shuriken!" A voice said from a tree. A Digimon revealed himself by throwing away the brown mantle he used as camuflage. "Only my master has been able to do that. I'm the great shuriken master: Ninjamon! You seem to have some merit as a warrior," He said, taking out a smaller shuriken. "This time I won't fail."
"You truly have impressive skills indeed," Yolei said, leaning on a wall on the same alleyway and with her arms crossed. "But you are only the second best master on the Digital World!"
"Second?" Ninjamon asked. "Then who is the best?!"
Hawkmon raised one of his... Fingers? And started tutting the possessed Digimon. "That my friend, would be me!" He turned to his partner. "Yolei!"
"Show him who's boss, Hawkmon!" She said, raising her Digivice. "Digimental Up!"
"Hawkmon Armor Digivolves to... Shurimon! The Ninja of Purity!"
His evolution complete, Shurimon threw one of his spring arms forward to attack the small Digimon. Ninjamon leaned out of the way and Shurimon retrieved his arm. The ninja smiled. "So it is true! You are a shuriken master!"
Shurimon readied his two shuriken hands and despite his covered face, you could hear the smile on his voice. "You've said it!"
"Well... There can only be one !" Ninjamon declared and threw his weapon of choice to the armored Digimon.
Shurimon jumped up to dodge the attack and Ninjamon did the same to attack him. The small Digimon used his katana to attack, and Shurimon blocked the strikes with his hand-blades. The two of them landing on opposite roofs.
Yolei was gushing at her partner's awesomeness. "You rule, Shurimon! Kick his ass!" It was short lived, because in front of her a mob of angry possessed Digimon appeared, torches and trinkets included.
"Get her!" A Mushroommon ordered and they all charged forward.
"Nooope!" Yolei turned tail and ran as the mob gave chase to her.
"V-headbutt!"
"Boom Bubble!"
"Armadillo Roll!"
"Neko Punch!"
Killua didn't called out his attack, he just punched and kicked any Digimon that attacked him without any effort whatsoever. "This guys have no end."
Kari frowned. "It's possible that all the Digimon on town had already been possessed," She said with a hint of regret and fury, the latter obviously directed at the Emperor.
"GUYS!" The shrill of Yolei's voice caused them to turn, only to see her being chased by the mob. "RUN!"
"That's a big nope if I ever saw one," Killua said, not wanting to waste time fighting more Digimon when they can simply go and destroy the tower. "Run!"
Everyone turned and started running for their lives, with Yolei eventually catching up to them.
As they ran down the street, they passed an alleyway with a sewer entrance. The lid slides away and a Geckomon peeks out to see them running. "Over here!"
T.K is the first to notice and stops, turning to the green Digimon. "Geckomon?!"
"Hurry! You'll be safe here!" The amphibian Digimon goes back to the tunnels, waiting for the kids to follow.
T.K turns around to call for his friends attention. "Get in! Hurry!"
Noticing the deviation they're taking, Killua stops and turns around, charging electricity on his finger tips. "Narukami!" He launches a bolt of electricity at the mob chasing them, just enough for them to stop momentarily and give the group a chance to enter the sewers.
When he reaches his friends, he sees that Kari has already enter and Cody is following. Davis has a confused look on his face. "Where there sewers on the Edo period?"
"This isn't the Edo period, it's the Digital World," Cody said countered. "It's not the same."
"Hurry and leave that for later!" Killua tells them as both he and Yolei keep an eye for any incoming enemies.
Yolei spots her partner still fighting with Ninjamon and calls out for him. "Shurimon come back!" She yelled.
Shurimon parried an attack from his opponet and heard his partner's call. He jumps away from a swing from his enemy's katana and the shurikens on his legs start spinning like a fan to help him float away. "We'll meet again, Ninjamon!" He promised.
Ninjamon sheets his sword and smiles. "Indeed, Shurimon," He turns and looks at the palace. "The master must know of the intruders!" He starts leaping from building to building to reach his destination.
On the underground, the Digidestined met with a big group of Geckomon and Otamamon.
"Digidestined, thank you for coming to our aid once again!" They all bowed on their knees at the group, not meeting their gazes.
The group just stared at them with quizzical looks.
One of the Geckomon raised his head and smiled at them. "In case you don't remember us, we are part of the group that was captured months ago on the hidden forest."
Yolei's fist fell on her palm. "Right! You guys are the Geckomon from the picnic we had with Mimi!" She smiled at them. "So this is your home town!"
The same Geckomon sighed. "We used to live on the palace with our master, but we were force to go to hidding."
"Is the Digimon Emperor nearby? Have you seen him?" V-Mon asked, wanting to know if the resposible of all this disasters was close for them to give him a lesson.
"N-no... He isn't..." The Geckomon said.
And Otamamon jumped forward and looked at them. "But the Reaper is here!"
"The Reaper?!" Patamon and Gatomon gasped.
Killua narrowed his eyes as he remembered that Digimon, someone holding some grudge against him. 'This could be bad... Ken, I can handle, a possessed Digimon too. But that Digimon is certainly strong...' He thought.
"He is the one who planted the Control Tower," The Otamamon continued. "And then a swarm of Dark Rings started capturing everyone!"
"You guys were on the palace right?" Armadillomon asked, receiving nods as answers. "That explains why you were able to save yourselves."
The whole bunch of amphibian Digimon started to tear up. "T-the worst part is that... T-the Reaper he-He attacked our lord and put a Spiral on him!" The lead Geckomon sobbed. "Our leader is in hands of the Digimon Emperor!"
Tha dam broke and all of the amphibians started to cry in sorrow at the atrocities happening on their hometown. The Digidestined only able to watch them in pity.
"Okay," Killua said, gathering the groups attention. "Now we have two targets, the tower and ShogunGeckomon. The latter might be the hardest, since he is an Ultimate and one of great sice if I remember correctly." He told them. "For now let's keep it low, the town is still buzzing with hordes of Digimon wanting to linch us."
Reluctantly the group nodded and the Geckomon started to calm themselves from their crying rounds. Hopping for a way to liberate their master.
An audible crack resonated on the palace, as Blademon ate some crackers he found on ShogunGeckomon's personal stash. The former owner of the palace was sleeping to recover himself from the injury the Reaper caused him.
Said Reaper didn't had enough with taking his town and his crackers, but now was using his belly as his own personal seat.
"I could get used to this," The hooded Digimon mused as he tossed the now empty bag away and grabbed a new one.
"Master!" Ninjamon leaped from one of the ceiling's tiles and kneeled in front of Blademon. "I bring news!"
Blademon rolled his eyes at the smaller Digimon. He only called him master because of his sword and the influence of the ring. "What?" He growled out.
"The Digidestined are here!" He informed. "In the city."
Blademon crushed the bag on his hands and a bloodthirsty grin appeared on his face. "Is there a white haired boy with them?" He asked.
"Yes, my master!" Ninjamon confirmed. "What should we do?"
Blademon chuckled and leaped off the giant's belly. "It's time for the shogun to take control of his town!" He snapped his fingers and the runes on the spiral started to glow.
ShogunGeckomon sat up and opened his blood-red eyes. He gave out a yawn, before he got to his full height and gave a powerful roar that resonated on the castle.
Blademon summoned his sword and jumped on the giant's shoulder. "Let's start with the fun!"
"How long do we have to wait?!" Davis asked, walking around the small zone on the underground tunnels.
"Can you please be more patient?" Cody asked, fidgeting with his new gloves. "One of the Geckomon is checking if the zone is secure for us to take the tower."
"Once the tower is taken down, we go for ShogunGeckomon, since we won't have the whole town claiming our blood," Killua reminded the impatient boy.
"But that would be really easy to do now," Davis countered. "Just go in with Raidramon and pum! No more tower, right, pal?" He turned to V-Mon.
"Yup!" V-Mon said. "With only Rookies around it will be easy-" There was a tremor. "Cake?!"
"Cover your heads!" Killua yelled as the whole tunnel started shaking for a moment.
The group did as told and they ducked to protect their craniums from the constant tremor or the debris falling from the ceiling.
"Is it over? Is it over?!" Yolei asked, having a small panick attack.
"Yes, Yolei, yes," Hawkmon assured her.
The Geckomon sent to keep an eye on the surface came back. "Y-you gotta see this!" He panted. "Our lord has gone crazy! He's rampaging the town!"
"EH?!" The group screeched.
Killua pinched the bridge of his nose. "Of course that plan would go to waste," He muttered. "To the surface, now!"
As if it was something out of a movie, ShogunGeckomon stomped on every house on his way. With no remorse that his people would be around there.
The Digidestined emerged from one of the underground tunnels along with all of the hidden Geckomon and Otamamon. Killua turned to the civilian Digimon. "You guys have to evacuate now! Stay on the edge of the town while we deal with him!"
"Please try to not hurt him!" The Geckomon pleaded. "Just set him free! Our master would never harm us, not after he got his sleeping schedule right."
"Don't worry, we'll make sure to free him!" T.K reassured.
"T.K... We are not alone!" Patamon said, looking around and noticing the same mob of Digimon from earlier.
They were surrounded on all sides by the mob and the group of amphibians were scared out of their minds. Davis growled and got his Digivice out. "Play time's over! V-Mon, Digimental Up!"
"V-Mon Armor Digivolves to... Raidramon! The Storm of Friendship!"
"Patamon, you too! Digimental Up!" T.K exclaimed.
"Patamon Armor Digivolves to... Pegasusmon! The Flying Hope!"
It wasn't long before the others decided to join in the fry.
"Gatomon Armor Digivolves to... Nefertimon! The Angel of Light!"
"Armadillomon Armor Digivolves to... Pteramon! The Armed Love!"
"Okay, Hawkmon get ready to-" Before Yolei could make her partner evolve a shuriken landed at their feet. "Eep!"
Hawkmon inspected the weapon and noticed a note attached to it. "Hmm?" He took the note and read it. "It's a challenge, from Ninjamon!"
"A... Challenge?" Yolei asked, tilting her head.
"Oi, Yolei!" Killua called, getting ready to mount on Nefertimon's back. "We have to get go-"
Before he could finish, his instincts screamed at him and he turned around just in time to intercept a sword flying like a boomerang to him. He grabbed by the handle and recognized the blade. "This is..."
"Nice catch," The voice made all the Digidestined turn, to see Blademon on one of the roofs. "But I'd like my sword back, please," He raised his hand and the sword disappeared from Killua's grasp, only for it to appear on his hand. "That's better."
"Reaper..." Nefertimon and Pegasusmon growled.
Blademon ignored them and leaped down the roof, staring directly at Killua. "Zoldyck, I think a second round is bound to start."
Killua clicked his tongue and advanced in front of him. "So it seems."
"Wait, you are planning on taking him alone?" One Geckomon asked.
"Yes," Killua said without hesitation. "Davis, Cody, protect the Geckomon and Otamamon. T.K, Kari, Yolei, gor for ShogunGeckomon and see if you can take the Spiral."
"About that," Blademon grinned and rested his sword on his shoulder. "My 'student' Ninjamon is waiting patiently for the girl and her partner on the palace to have a duel, and if you don't go for him he'll come for you so save yourselves the time."
Killua exhaled. "Fine. Yolei, go for Ninjamon."
"Okay!" Yolei raised her Digivice and allowed her partner to evolve. "Digimental Up!"
"Hawkmon Armor Digivolves to... Shurimon! The Ninja of Purity!"
With his spring legs, Shurimon jumped over the town with Yolei under her arms to reach her objective.
"That's better," Blademon nodded. "Now..." He pointed his sword at Killua. "Shall we begin?"
Killua's Nen spiked up and he got into position. "The rest of you go, I'll be fine."
"You sure?" T.K asked, looking between their leader and the hooded Digimon.
"I've already face him before, I can do it again," He said, sharpening his claws. "Go now!"
T.K nodded and took off. "Be careful, Killua." He said, flying towards the rampaging Digimon.
"Everyone, follow us!" Cody said as Pteramon and Raidramon opened a way between amongst the mob of angry Digimon, to allow the Geckomon to run away.
Kari and Nefertimon stood behind for a moment, just staring at Killua's back as he got ready to face one of the Emperor's bodyguards. She knows she isn't ready to help on something like this, she's been training for only two weeks now, so she can only sigh and look forward. "Be safe, Killua," She said. "Nefertimon, let's go!"
And with that, there were only two.
Killua and Blademon stared at each other in complete silence, before Blademon decided to break the ice. "Some nice friends you got there, all of them worrying for you."
"Jealous?" Killua quipped, never letting his guard down.
"Hardly," He scoffed. "Bonds like that are meaningless. What's the point of making them if they are so easy to break, so easy for one person to turn the their back on the other? Something like that happens and "Poof" the precious bond is gone."
Killua chuckled a bit. "Wow, you're an edge lord huh? An edge lord with a blade, I feel there's a joke there somewhere. What's the problem? Did someone dumped you or something."
Blademon's grip on his blade increased as his glare became like fire. "I'll enjoy reaping your limbs one by one!" He growled out, any joking he had in him was now completly gone.
Killua noticed and let his Ren burst. "I'd like to see you try."
Blue energy covered Blademon's sword as Killua's Ren was applied to use Ken. The two of them charged and the cold metal of the blade, made the sharpened form of the assassin's nail.
Their clashes rang across the entire town.
"Equis Beam!"
"Queen's Curse!"
Pegasusmon and Nefertimon launched beams from their headset to the place on ShogunGeckomon's head where the Dark Spiral was located. The beams naturally didn't do anything, and the giant Digimon was only more annoyed than before.
"Damn it! It doesn't come out!" T.K cursed with gritted teeth.
On the floor, around the exit of the town, Davis and Raidramon lead one group of Geckomon and Otamamon as far away of the disaster. The Mushroommon and Floramon making it hard to move out. "Blast them, pal!"
"Blue Lighting!" Raidramon opened his mouth and launched his attack from between his jaws, instead of his back to not hurt Davis. The electric attack collapsed the possessed Digimon and opened the path.
Pteramon and Cody lead another group, they decided to separate in two groups to not be a big target for the possessed Digimon. Ahead of them, they could see Digimon blocking their exit. "Pteramon, aim to the ground... I don't want them to get hurt," He said.
"Got it!" Pteramon nodded and his weapons were launched. "Missile Storm!"
Just as asked, the projectiles struck the ground and caused the Floramon blocking their exit to fall into a hole caused by the explosion of the missiles. This giving the amphibians the opportunity to escape.
And in the palace, away from the evacuation, Ninjamon waited patiently. Sitting cross-legged on the roof on a meditative stance. His eyes opened once he felt the enemy's presence.
Using a kite like a traditional ninja, Shurimon and Yolei arrived to the point of encounter. "Here's Shurimon, believe it!" The leaf ninja said.
Ninjamon got up and unsheathed his sword. "So I see!" He said with an excited grin.
Shurimon leaped to the roof and Ninjamon ran towards him. "Let's get started, Shurimon!" The small Digimon said, jumping over his opponent and summoning two shurikens.
Shurimon jumped to intercept him and they both clashed their shurikens. Landing on the roof again, Shurimon turned to Yolei. "Go to the tower of the palace, Yolei!" He said, wanting her to go to somewhere safe.
"I'll leave it to you, Shurimon!" She cheered as the kite landed.
Shurimon nodded and blocked a shuriken thrown his way. He stretched his arm forward to attack, but Ninjamon jumped over it and started running on it. "What?!" Shurimon was surprised at his opponet's tactic, but couldn't ponder on it as Ninjamon tackled him out of the roof. Shurimon reacted quickly wrapping his arms around him so the two would fall.
Yolei walked around the tower as she heard her partner scream. She ran to the edge and saw him and his rival falling. "Shurimon!"
"Final Tenor!" From the two tubes on his shoulders, a blast of wind was launched at Pegasusmon and Nefertimon.
The two moved out of the way, their attacks proving to be useless against such an opponent. "An Ultra Level is just too strong!" Kari said, bitting her lower lip in frustration. "If only the others could give us some reinforcement."
T.K thought the same, but at the moment it was just the two. He looked at the Control Tower with a frown, if one of them goes and takes it down, it would mean leave the other to deal with an Ultra alone. And with everyone else busy, who could... "That's it!" He gasped. "Kari! Make him point to the tower!"
Kari looked at her blonde friend and then to the tower and their target, a smile etching on her face. "Got it!" She smiled.
The two of them flew in front of the direction where the tower was on. The shogun, with his clouded mind, turned to them and launched his blast. "Final Tenor!"
Just like planned, the two moved out of the way and the blast of air impacted on the tower. The monolith of darkness crumbled on itself and the Dark Rings on the inhabitants of the town broke apart.
Back in the palace, Ninjamon's ring broke. But that didn't stopped his will to fight against his rival in the arts of shuriken. He pressed his tiny legs against Shurimon's torso and with a push he freed himself from his grasp.
Now free to deal together with the shogun, Davis and Cody joined with their friends. T.K smiled at them. "Guys, get him!"
"You got it!" Raidramon said. "Blue Lighting!"
The electricity of the armored Digimon stunned the giant. ShogunGeckomon was covered from head to toe on blue arcs of electricity and started twitching around.
"My turn!" Pteramon grinned and deployed his weapons. "Missile Storm!"
All of the weapons impacted with the giant. An explosion occurred and when the smoke cleared out, ShogunGeckomon was unconscious. The Spiral still there, but the Digimon unconscious.
"Donezo!" Davis grinned and looked around. "Now... Where are sparky and Yolei?"
"Take this!" Ninjamon runned around the tiled roof of one of the houses and threw his shurikens at the leaf ninja.
Shurimon jumped and started spinning his blades. "Flying Chainsaw!" The spinning shurikens blocked the others without any issue.
Watching the fight from the tower of the palace, Yolei slammed her hands on the railing. "Hey! What's the deal!? The tower is in pieces, why are you fighting!?" She asked, pointing to the debris of the tower.
Both shinobi landed on the floor. "This is about pride!" Ninjamon stated. "There can only be one shuriken master!" He raised his hand and held out his index and middle finger. "Secret Iga technique: Clones!"
Many Ninjamon appeared and started to run around the green ninja. All of them taking out shurikens and launching them at him.
Shurimon in response started to spin around. "Leaf Screen!" The spinning caused a small tornado that blocked the incoming projectiles. By the time it stopped, Shuriken was nowhere to be seen.
"What?!" Ninjamon asked.
"It's over, Ninjamon!" Shurimon's voice called from behind. Ninjamon turned to see his rival falling from the sky. "Flying Chainsaw!" He stretched his two arms forward to attack.
Ninjamon, desperately, got his sword out and tried to block, but the spinning blades were faster and they broke the tip of the sword and part of Ninjamon's mask.
Shurimon landed on the roof behind him and turned around. "I win, Ninjamon."
Ninjamon glared at him. "I'll accept my defeat for now!" He took out a smoke bomb and threw it on the ground. When the smoke settled, he was gone.
Yolei approached her partner with a fangirling scream. "Shurimon, you're amazing! I love you!"
Shurimon blinked and scratched the back of his head, a blush visible behind his mask. "Yolei, you flatter me."
On the center of the town, the Digidestined were watching dumbfounded as ShogunGeckomon was snoring loudly. The Geckomon and Otamamon having returned to town now that their leader haf settled down. "He's sleeping..." Kari noted.
"The big guy deserves a break," T.K chuckled.
Yolei and Shurimon appeared again, with the latter using the shuriken on his back like the fan of a an helicopter to stay on the air.
Cody smiled at seeing the older girl. "Yolei! What happened? You missed everything?"
Yolei just smiled sheepishly. "Sorry!"
With the group reunited, the lead Geckomon turned to them. "Thank you for calming our lord! Now please, help us take down the Spiral!"
Davis grinned and pointed to the antenna on the shogun's head. "Why not give him a haircut? Sounds way easier!"
"What?! The nerve how dare you even think about it?!" The frog started spouting, furiously.
Davis blinked and held up his hands in surrender. "H-hey, chill, chill!"
The Geckomon ignored him and continued to rage about the preposterous thought of cutting their leader's precious hair. The Digidestined all watching with deadpans that would make their leader proud.
Kari sighed. "You should be more tactful, Davis," She said, passing a hand through her hair.
At hearing this, Davis panicked. In less than five seconds he imagined a whole life of Kari despising him just for this small moment and marrying both T.P and Killua. AT THE SAME TIME! "No wait, Kari! I meant that maybe he would look more handsome with this new haircut I'm just looking out for the big guy see?!" He asked, poking his fingers together.
She didn't get half of what he said, but couldn't help but giggle.
And just like that, Davis life was in order again. Their five partners focused their attacks on the Spiral, breaking down and just leaving ShogunGeckomon to slumber more peacefully.
"And... Where's Killua?" T.K asked, noticing rhe me absence of their leader.
Everyone looked around to see if their leader was ready to join with them.
However, the reality settled in as they heard an explosion coming from the edges of the town. Everyone turning to that direction in shock. "He's still at it?!" Davis gaped.
"Killua..." Kari muttered and her eyes hardened. "Let's check on him!" She told the others and everyone nodded, ready to go on the Hunter's aid.
A cloud of smoke was lifted somewhere on the Little Edo town. Killua leaped out from it, many feet up in the air, and it didn't take long for Blademon to leap as well, going even higher than his opponent to bring a slash to his head.
Killua focused Ryu on his arms and blocked the attack, but that didn't stopped the gravity and the pressure of the attack to sent him back to the ground.
When they both landed, Blademon didn't wasted any time. With a roar that emulates that of a predator lunging for his pray, the hooded Digimon swung his sword at the Hunter witn all the intention of cleaving him in half. Killua parried and blocked all of his attacks using his nails infused with Nen. Sparks flying around as the two enemies danced against each other with their respective attacks connecting.
However, to Killua, it was clear that the Digimon in front of him was stronger than in their encounter on the forest. He has improved ever since the day when T.K and Kari got their Digi-eggs. His thrusts and slashes were faster and stronger, pushing Killua back and into the defensive. The boy leaps around the battlefield to gain some breathing room from his opponent, after parrying again another of the Reaper's slashes.
Blademon however was a restless assailant, he jumped over Killua, sword raised above his head to cut him off. The boy dodged and the sword impacted against the concrete of the floor, rocks and dust flying everywhere. He turned his body to continue on his attacks on the boy, thrusting his sword forward multiple times to stab him.
Killua dodged every attack, even swatting the sword out of the way with his claws. Blademon tired of this leaped back and his sword started shining with a blue aura. "Take this! Air Slash!"
Slashing his sword against thin air, a wave of cutting energy was sent of the boy's direction. Killua jumped and avoided the attack, but that distraction was all Blademon needed to jump again over the boy and swing his sword down. Killua raised his hands and caught the blade into his hands, gravity taking hold and making his body land with a stomp. His feet breaking the floor as he struggled to keep the blade for falling on his head. He pushed the sword and his owner away, and the Reaper landed a few feet away from him.
As the clouds of dust caused from the debris of their fight started to settle, the two combatants struggled to regain some breath. Killua more than Blademon. The Reaper smirked. "I'm not the same as before, on that day," He rested his sword on his shoulders as he talked. "Before, I was just testing you. Now, I'm just going all out on you."
Killua glared at him while letting out a sigh. His next course of action already decided.
"So, how about we cont-" Before he could finish, Killua vanished in the middle of a lighting stella.
His eyes widened and his instincts told him to dodge, he leaned to the side just as a clawed hand thrusts forward to pierce his chest. His enemy was behind him with an aura of electricity around him and a blank stare. "You talk a lot."
He vanished again and Blademon was immediately on guard, but nothing's could prevent him from the assault he was about to receive.
He felt a kick impact against the side of his head, but when he swung his sword on that direction it was gone. Then he felt a punch to his gut that send him skidding back, the armor underneath his cloack preventing him from doubling over in pain, when he looked around to see the responsible he didn't saw nothing.
Then behind his back, he received a shock of electricity that ran across his whole body. A howl of pain escaping his lips, he turned around just in time to see Zoldyck vanishing again for his next attack.
An uppercut, followed for various kicks to the head. Then a haymaker and a double fist punch on the head. Some discharges here and there that left him stunned.
And despite all the pain he was suffering for his rival's technique... Blademon smirked. 'I see...' He thought.
Killua reappeared again, delivering a spinning elbow punch to the gut of his opponent, the armor again absorbing the impact. But it was powerful enough to sent Blademon skidding towards the debris of a building.
Killua stood there as he let the Godspeed aura disappeared. He just used his Whirlwind technique to regain the edge in battle. Yet he frowned in discontent, the Reaper's armor hidden under his clothes had absorbed the majority of the damage he could have delivered. 'Must be some really tough material, to not break under any of my attacks.''
The pieces of the collapsed building started shifting and Blademon surged from them. His hood somehow keeping itself in place, while the rest of the cloack had some cuts and dirty spots on it.
"Hehehe. Not bad, not bad. That ability of yours would have seriously hurt me had it not been for my armor," He said, dusting himself off.
"I've noticed," Killua rolled his eyes in annoyance. "My Whirlwind would have been enough to kill any lesser men or mon. Yet you took it and shrugged off the static left by my lightning as if it was nothing," he narrows his eyes. "I don't get you. You are clearly more powerful than the Emperor, yet you still follow him as one of his lapdogs. Why? What do you gain of following him?"
"Aside from the obvious, like not being a mindless slave?" Blademon asked, sarcasm on his tone. "Well, some good fights, nice places for me to rest, and of course... You dead at my feet."
"And I still don't get why!" He growled his hands shifting to claws again.
"If you don't remember that's your business," Blademon growled back, venom on his voice. "I'll reveal it to you on your deathbed, where you will find the identity of your killer."
A sudden shift in the air, indicated the coming of an attack. From under Blademon's robes, blue energy shimmered and focused on his sword. "I have few opportunities to use my special attack, you know? Like Greymon's Nova Blast, or Garurumon's Howling Buster. But now? I'm gonna show you!" As he said everything, he crouched until he was in all fours, except for his right arm holding the sword, which was extended outwards and shinning brightly.
Killua activated Godspeed again, throwing caution off the window. He could feel the Killing Intent coming from the energy gathered on the sword. If he doesn't dodged it, he could die. Then, when he dodges, Whirlwind's programming will kick in and he would counter.
Blademon smirked as he saw his actions. 'Fool.' He let out a roar. "Tiger's Hunt!"
Blademon shot forward at a speed rivaling Killua's own, but the young Zoldyck was faster and he dodged the attack without mayor problem using Whirlwind. Vanishing out of sight and reappearing behind Blademon's back, ready to electrocute him again.
Yet Blademon turned his body around and swung his blade to cut him off. Killua's eyes going wide and his body moving out of harms way thanks to Whirlwind, vanishing and reappearing a few feet away from Blademon. 'How?!' Killua questioned.
Blademon shot forward to attack again, his blade continuing to shine with the same blue energy from before. But Killua dodged it again, reacting to the outside stimulus coming from the enemy.
And so a game of cat and the mouse started, with Blademon somehow knowing where Killua would reappear before time and attacking immediately and with Killua dodging his attacks with Whirlwind's automatic response, but unable to counter as that would give Blademon a chance to cut kill him.
Flashes of blue shined across the town as the persecution continued, but all things come to an end.
As Killua vanished and reappeared again, but at that moment the electrical aura around him vanished. Godspeed's reserves running out. "No, fu-" He turned around as he felt the Killing Intent.
At that moment, unable to dodge a blade that somehow knew where he was going to be, and seeing the glowing blue eyes and white teeth under the shadows of a hood... Killua started to understand why Blademon was known as The Emperor's Reaper.
The blade thrusted forward and met his target... Yet Killua's instinct made him lean a bit to avoid his chest being pierced and received the stab on his shoulder.
The boy gritted his teeth, despite his body being used to pain, getting stabbed still hurt like a bitch. The sword dug into his skin, muscle and bones. Blademon grinned sadistically as he watched the blood coating his blade. "My Tiger's Hunt never fails. Once I set my sights on my objective, my blade hunts it down. Even with all your speed, my sword knew exactly where you would be and acted accordingly."
'So it wasn't him reacting fast... It was his sword. Heh... The Digimon have some cool attacks,' Killua had seen what Digimon of higher level where capable off. VictoryGreymon, ZeedGarurumon, The Dark Masters. All with attacks that would give a mediocre Hunter a run for their money. 'But even so...'
Blademon's grin changed to a grimace of pain. He looked down to see a clawed hand piercing his left bicep, from the arm that wasn't holding his sword. "Cheeky little bastard..."
Blademon torn his sword out of Killua's flesh, the boy holding his wound. The bones of his shoulder no doubt shattered and with a cavity on the. Blademon ignored his own wound completly. "Die now," He said raising his sword.
"Equis Beam!"
"Nile Jewels!"
"Blue Lighting!"
"Missile Storm!"
"Flying Chainsaw!"
Blademon saw all five attack coming and swung his sword to them. All of them nullified at the sword's power.
The five Digidestined appeared in front of the ex-assassin, forming a protective wall between their leader and Blademon.
The Reaper clicked his teeth. 'Damn it... I could take them all out right now but...' He looked at his injured arm and scowled. 'This is a nuisance.'
Kari and T.K dismounted their partners and ran to their friend. "Killua!" T.K called in concern, looking at his wound.
"Your arm..." Kari said, feeling a little green at the sight of blood. Her friend and teacher's blood.
"I'll be fine..." Killua said, the adrenaline from the fight starting to worn off.
Blademon's sword disappeared and he turned around. Not sparing them a single glance.
Davis scowled. "Hey! Where do you think you're going?!" He barked. "Raidramon get ready to-"
"DAVIS NO!" Killua's scream caught everyone off guard, except for their enemy. "That guy is too strong for you guys. Think about it! He beat Agumon and the others, and... I will accept this time he beat me. You shouldn't—You can't face him right now!" Killua said, almost pleadingly.
"Sparky...?" Davis was at lost of words at their leader's tone.
Blademon snorts. 'Oh, now you worry.' He turned to them. "I will listen if I were you, even now I could kill you now," His statement was as casual as talking about the weather. "Maybe next time," He snapped his fingers and out of nowhere an Airdramon appeared and took him away.
"Those things are taxis or what?" Yolei muttered.
Killua sat up while still clutching his wound. The pain was agonizing, an any lesser men would have passed out by now. But Killua has been receiving torture since he can remember, he could tolerate the pain for now.
His friends however, didn't know that. "Killua, sit back down!" T.K said.
"You need to rest," Kari joined, looking worriedly at him.
"We have to take him to the settlement with the Geckomon!" Cody said. "They can patch him up there!"
Everyone nodded, Kari helping him to get on Nefertimon's back carefully to not aggravated the wound on his arms.
The boy kept his head low as they flew off and gritted his teeth. 'Blademon... Who the hell are you?' He asked in his mind, clutching his wound.
From his base, The Emperor watched the events of that day as usual on his throne room. "One zone less, five more added," He drawled, uncaring of his enemies' victory.
His spy rings watched as the locals patched Killua up, then how they bid their goodbyes to their 'Heroes.'
Disgusting.
"Blademon..." The Emperor called as he felt his presence. "How come... You've never used that technique on me? Have you been patronizing me?" He asked calmly, but his fury could be sensed
Blademon bowed. "I simply didn't wished to harm you, my lord. My most humble apologies if I offended you."
The Emperor clenched and unclenched his fist. His body was full recovered from Killua's assault on him. He got up and walked to his subject. "On the next session go all out on me, if I can't defeat you at your best then I can't defeat Zoldyck at his. Meet you on the training room in five." He strode pridefully out of his throne room.
Blademon rolled his eyes. As if he could last against him in full power. He would use a half-assed version of his ability on him.
He looked at the screen and saw Zoldyck being fussed over by the Child of Light.
Blademon quirked and eyebrow and scoffed. 'Foolish girl... If only you knew of his true nature. The nature of a coward.'
He walked out of the room as the screens died out.
"*Cocks a shotgun* You. Yes, you. The one reading this chapter.""I want you to leave a looooong review about what you liked and what you didn't liked about this chapter. Mainly the fight scene between Blademon and Killua. It took me a long time to make it, and I've really being waiting for this moment for a long time.""So I want a review!!"
"That said. I hope I did good with Killua's powers... They're... Complicated. Not on how they function, but rather how they could make him finish the hole thing in less than a second."
"But again, I want reviews! In everything on this chapter. And I wanted them long! ... Not that way! Get your mind off the gutter!"
"Anyway, I love you all. Fav and Review!"
