REVIEW TIME!

Zero Fullbuster: Always glad to deliver.

Wickerstein: Digievolution is a fun system, exploited to its full potential in the World games I think. It's one of the reasons why I am not doing the DNA and instead want to be more fresh with the 02 cast's evolutions, heck even with the first one by adding Megas and the alternates to Agumon and Gabumon. Once again my knowledge from tri is null and even Kizuna, though I'll tackle that later on…

Guest: If you're talking about the first generation shown in Tri, just Maki. If other seasons then no.

AnonymousBW: Happy delayed birthday I guess, glad you took the time to read it on your special day. And why would I be baiting you on the DNA evolution~? I'm not doing such thing~

Felipe1402XZA: Glad someone caught on the reference. That game is the darkest thing to come from the franchise in a long time, but it deserves a chance.

Let's go! Although I think this chapter won't be that long. :)

The Rainbow Bridge was completely surrounded, but luckily the people had been evacuated, but there was no way in or out from it, the event being too similar to the fog from five years ago to bring comfort, and both the aerial and naval forces unable to hurt the monsters surrounding the bridge. Groups of Kuwagamon walked through the bridge, growling and roaring at different intervals of time as if they didn't know to do anything better, while on the sky two Okuwamon soared the sky taking any victim that crossed them or tried to attack the Control Tower that appeared in the middle of the water.

They all started hissing in anger when a newcomer started getting closer to them. Birdramon narrowed her eyes at them and flapped her wings, "Meteor Wings!"

The attack was mostly ineffective, the two Okuwamon flew over the bridge and released a stream of black fire from their mouth, cancelling Birdramon's attack. She narrowed her eyes and flinched back. "I didn't know Okuwamon could do that…"

"They don't," Cody said, from her back. "According to Davis and Ken the Deadmon they fought did that too."

"So the Kuwagamon below can do it too…" Joe mused as he looked down at the red insects below.

Gomamon chuckled. "Well, they seem too busy guarding the bridge, maybe we can take the tower from beneath the water," He said smugly… until ripples started coming from the water.

With a roar, various red eyed Digimon surged from the water. The biggest one of them being a Digimon that Sora and Joe recognized as a Digimon that worked under the Dark Master MetalSeadramon, Scorpiomon. The other dozen Digimon around him looked like red octopi with a brown helmet over their heads, covering their faces but leaving their red eyes exposed for the world to see—they were Octomon.

"… Ya shouldn't have opened you're mouth," Armadillomon told Gomamon.

"Yeah, yeah, I should've learned by now," Gomamom said.

"At least we know what each of us has to do," Sora said. "Birdramon and I will take care of the Okuwamon as Garudamon and Joe and Gomamon on the sea."

"We don't go Mega?" Gomamon asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Better to save strength," Joe said. "You guys haven't done it for a while, and we might need it later on."

"Then, Armadillomon and I will take care of the Kuwagamon," Cody said, looking down at the monsters below and gulping. 'Like with the Control Towers… they're not actually alive, they're just destroying without reason…'

"Are you sure you can take on all of them by yourselves?" Sora said, she wasn't sure about leaving a kid way younger than her by himself go down below and face so many monsters with the strength of a Champion, even if he had an Ultra.

Armadillomon winked and gave her a thumbs up. "Don'tcha worry about us, we got this. Right pal?"

Cody nodded and smiled. "Right."

Gomamon smirked. "Okay then," He stood on his rear paws and extended his arms. "Watch a special diving technique!"

He leaped out of Birdramon, much to the scare of the others, specially Joe's. "Don't be so RECKLEEEES!" He yelled as he raised his Digivice.

"Gomamon Digivolves to… Ikkakumon!"

With the force of a literal cannonball, Ikkakumon landed on the water. The Deadmon in it gathering around the place where he fell, only to recoil when light came from beneath the waves.

"Ikkakumon Ultra Digivolves to… Zudomon!"

Zudomon emerged giving everything he got; his hammer was the first thing to come out and landed a solid hit on Scorpiomon's chin. The strongest of the aquatic was sent flying backwards.

The Octomon all took aim with the weapons they had on their tentacles and fired blasts of fire towards him, but Zudomon just curled into himself and withstood the pain of the attack. He raised his hammer and slammed into the ground.

"Vulcan Hammer!" Electricity sparked from the impact of the hammer, impacting against the aquatic Deadmon and making them turn into smoke.

Scorpiomon emerged from the water and charged at the Ultra, Zudomon turned and intercepted him, the two grappling against each other for supremacy.

"He already got most of the ones in the water!" Joe said, watching his partner fight against Scorpiomon.

"Then it's our turn!" Armadillomon said, jumping off, "YEEE-HAWWWW!"

"WAIT FOR ME!" Cody yelled as he jumped off too, his Digivice glowing, and Nen flaring up.

"Armadillomon Digivolves to… Ankylomon! Ankylomon Ultra Digivolves to… Gogmamon!"

The mineral Digimon impacted against the bridge, leaving a crater on it and gave a cocky smirk at the Kuwagamon. Cody landed next to him, using a burst of Nen from his feet to cushion his fall.

"Okay, I take the dozen on the right, you take the dozen on the left!" Gogmamon said. "Hit me so I can blast them off!"

"Right," Cody turned and summoned his shinai. He jumped and slammed it into his partner's back. "Hi-Yah!"

Gogmamon's crystals glowed and he glared at the insects in front of him. "Here I go!"

He barreled through the Kuwagamon with all of his strength, his pillars for arms slamming against their heads and pulverizing them at the moment of impact. They might not be Digimon, but their strength was still the same as a Champion, so their chances against an Ultimate were bleak.

Cody turned and looked at the Kuwagamon on the other side, months ago he would have felt intimidated by their size and numbers. But compared to creatures like Kimeramon, BlackWargreymon, and BlackMetalGarurumon…

"MEN!" Giving a yell characteristic from kendo, he charged forward and struck the head of one of the Kuwagamon. Upon impact it exploded into a cloud of black dust.

Compared to them… this was nothing.

Sora watched from above how Cody and Gogmamon fought against the pack of Kuwagamon with incredible ease. Joe adjusted his glasses as he observed them. "They're amazing."

"Killua's training on them did paid off," Sora smiled. Then she heard buzzing in front of them and saw the two Okuwamon in front of them. "It's time to do our part!" She said, raising her Digivice.

"Birdramon Ultra Digivolves to… Garudamon!"

The Digimon known as The Guardian of the Forest moved fast and set her two passengers on one of the ends of the bridge, before turning around just in time to punch away her two opponents. "Stay there, while I deal with these guys!"

"Do your best, Garudamon!" Sora cheered as her partner flew over the water, followed by the two insects.

She turned around and her entire body lit up in flames, "Wing Blade!"

Two birds made of fire shot from her form and flew straight to the two insects, impacting against them and making them stagger back. Garudamon took her chance to fly past them and rear her fist back as she got closer to the dark monolith in the middle of the water.

She gave it a strong jab, and cracks started appearing along its surface. She clenched her fists and fire appeared again, knowing that she had to add a bit more than a strike to take it down, "Wing Blade!"

The fire with the form of a bird shot out from her and impacted point black against the tower. Like a lone tree in a forest it toppled down, and fell into the water, slowly dissipating into mots of dust into the air.

Angry hisses came from the two Okuwamon behind her, the two charging straight at her with anger. She clenched her fists, ready to fight the two by herself at the moment.

Or so she thought.

"Cursed Reflection!" Twin beams of energy came from the bridge and impacted against the stomachs of the bugs, not enough to kill them, but to leave them stunned and injured.

Garudamon looked down to see Cody and Gogmamon, the former giving her a smile and a thumbs up while the latter grinned with pride. The bridge was completely clear of any Kuwagamon, courtesy of a young Nen user and an Ultimate.

Garudamon wasn't going to let this chance go, "Wing Blade!"

Her attack surged from her body and impacted against the two monsters; weakened and unprepared they could only screeched in pain as they got reduced to dust.

The bird let out an exhale and looked down to the water, where Zudomon continued to fend off against Scorpiomon with constant hits from his hammer. He gave it a strike to the chin and his hammer crackled with electricity. "Vulcan Hammer!"

He gave the electrified strike to the stomach of the beast, the sparks making a hole on its body and reducing it to smoke. Zudomon smirked and tossed his hammer up and down. "Piece of cake!"

Sora and Joe exhaled in relief when they saw that the tower was down and that the Deadmon were dealt with. "What a relief…"

"Then we're clear on Odaiba," Joe said with a smile. "Let's go back to Izzy's place. And keep in tune with what the others are doing by the T.V"

Zudomon swam to the shore and shrank back to Gomamon, while in the bridge Gogmamon returned to being Upamon. Garudamon picked all of her friends and flew high towards Izzy's home again, with Odaiba free from its Control Tower.

On Ueno, the job was far more easier for the duo sent there, since their approach was one more aggressive than one might expect.

"Palmon Warp Digivolves to… Rosemon!"

"Aquilamon Ultra Digivolves to… Hippogryphmon!"

A duo of Gigadramon tried attacking them, but a flick from Rosemon's whip tied the two together and with another one the spines in them extended and pierced them, turning them to dust.

A group of Devidramon charged at Hippogryphmon, releasing several fireballs of dark flames towards him. Hippogryphmon opened his mouth, "Heat Wave!" Their efforts proved useless as they got overpowered by the attack of the Ultra, which impacted them and reduced them to nothing.

While they fought in the sky, Deadmon tried to attack Mimi on the ground, while she stood in front of the Control Tower. Groups of Monochromon and Vilemon charged at her, the girl stood her ground, though her face showed her nerves, but they proved unfounded when Yolei stood in front of her and extended her hands, Nen blades glowing around them, "HI-YAH!"

Yolei shot forward and cut down the Monochromon and with a burst of Nen she jumped and cut down the wings of the Vilemon. She landed on the floor on one knee and struck a pose, just as the Deadmon turned to dust. "Bingo~"

"You were right, that was amazing!" Mimi said as she clapped her hands at the bespectacled girl. Then she huffed. "I'm actually jealous; remind me to slap Killua latter for not unlocking our Nen five years ago!"

"I won't recommend it," Yolei told her as she walked towards the tower and used Ko on her right fist. "His training is infernal!"

When she exclaimed that, she slammed her fist and the tower cracked and fell backwards.

Mimi gave her a pout. "You say that, and then flex doing stuff like that in front of me."

Yolei chuckled and rubbed the back of her head. "Hehehe, well it does have its perks!"

Rosemon and Hippogryphmon continued to fight with the threats in the sky, which didn't took the destruction of the tower kindly. Megadramon and Devidramon charged at them in hordes, but were easily fend off by the duo of Mega and Ultimate.

The girls watched with patient, knowing their partners had this covered. Yolei turned to Mimi with a sly smile. "So, you and Matt, huh?"

"Yup!" She chirped. "You should have seen how flustered he was, it was adorable!" Then she returned the gesture. "So, you and Ken, huh?"

Yolei's face went beet red, "Whaaaat? Naaaaah! We're just frieeends…" She said, tapping her fingers together. "Okay, I sorta like him… maybe a tiny little."

"Then what better way than now, girl?!" Mimi said, giving her a slap on the shoulder. "It's the season, after all! Even Kari gave Killua something."

"Wait… Kari and Killua?" Yolei asked with a blink.

"You didn't know?!" Mimi exclaimed, staring at her with wide eyes.

"No! … That explains why she wanted Killua to have vacations in Kyoto… and they did start the whole training thing back in April... And they live under the same roof… oh my God the signs were there," She said, blinking owlishly. "And I can actually see it, they would be cute! Oh… but Killua has to go back to his world."

Mimi winced. "Yeah, I've in her place. It's probably why she hasn't confessed."

"You… and Killua?" She asked.

Mimi scratched the back of her head. "I think it was kind of the crush a girl has on a celebrity. A guy with superpowers, leading us in a strange world, and that is easy on the eyes? And I was like eleven so I fantasized about love a bit." She explained, then she looked back at her with a deadpan, "And then again, you and Ken."

"There's nothing!" She snapped. "Yet…"

"Hey, me and Matt, Sora and Tai, and to a small degree Kari and Killua," Mimi said leaning on a wall with a smile. "One more hook-up won't hurt anyone."

Yolei's face was steaming by this point. She scratched her cheek and smiled. "Maybe, when we're done saving the world."

"Your call then," Mimi giggled.

"DONE!" They both look up to see their partners dispatch the last of the Deadmon.

"But if it is as easy as dealing with these guys, then it'll happen before the New Year!" Mimi teased as Rosemon scooped her into her hands.

Yolei pouted and mounted Hippogryphmon, before going back to Izzy's home after a job well done.

"Horn Buster!" MegaKabuterimon's horn sent an electric blast towards the hordes of Phantomon trying to use their scythes against him.

He flew high to avoid the swings and thrusts the ghostly Digimon all threw at him. And even if they nailed a hit on him, his shell would protect him from the hits, these Deadmon were nowhere as strong as the one that was with Myostismon five years ago.

Izzy watched the fight from inside the electronic store he came for to protect, pressing his face against the window to keep up with the fight. He frowned, even if MegaKabuterimon was strong, he could be overwhelmed by the sheer numbers of their opponents. It didn't help that they were all Ultra levels like him.

His lips pressed in a frown, Izzy took out his Digivice and ran outside, taking advantage that all of the Deadmon's attention was on his partner, he raised his Digivice. It was going to be a risky gamble, he didn't know if it would work, but it was logical it would. The step next to an Ultra was a Mega, so the possibility for change was there. And the sooner they could end with them, the sooner they could take down the tower looming at the middle of the street.

"MegaKabuterimon!" Izzy yelled as he raised his Digivice. "Next level!"

MegaKabuterimon did a double take when he saw his partner getting out of the store and aiming his Digivice at him. "Izzy, what are you—?!" Then he felt it, the familiar sensation of light and energy washing over him. "Oh… Oh yes!"

The horde of Phantomon all flinched and moved back when they felt the light emanating from their target. All the while Izzy smiled, happy that his theory paid off and gave them an even bigger chance at winning the fight.

"MegaKabuterimon Mega Digivolves to… HerakleKabuterimon!"

Bigger than his previous form, HerakleKabuterimon landed on the floor with a big crash. The Phantomon around him, gripping their scythe tightly and getting ready to attack, some of them charged with their weapons ready to cleave the Mega in half, while others used launched fire from the depths of their hooded faces.

However, none of their attacks proved effective to the Mega Digimon's armored body. The scythes bounced off, some even breaking apart at the impact with their opponent, and the fire only leaving tiny scorch marks on its skin.

Electricity crackled around the great insects' body, as he planted his arms on the floor. It gathered at the tip of his giant horn and condensed into a powerful ball of electricity. "Mega Electroshock!"

A powerful beam made of electricity was unleashed upon the horde surrounding him; at the moment of impact it engulfed the Phantomon and vaporized them until they were nothing but dust. The power of the beam being so big that it flew straight towards the tower at the end of the street, impacting against its base and damaging its structure, it toppled down and crashed on the street, where it dissolved into nothing.

"Alright!" Izzy cheered as he ran towards his partner. "You were amazing, HerakleKabuterimon!"

"Same to you, Izzy!" The insect rumbled. "I never thought I could get to this form from MegaKabuterimon!"

Izzy scratched the back of his head. "It was only a theory, but since evolutions up until Ultra were always linear I thought it was possible. Warp Digievolution is only a short-cut from your base forms to Mega level; I'm glad I was right and that you didn't have to go back to being Tentomon to reach Mega."

"That would have left me sitting ducks…" HerakleKabuterimon shuddered. "And those guys were already though as they were… Say, don't you want some new parts from that store?" He asked, looking at the place Izzy wanted to defend.

Izzy twitched. A part of him did wanted some of the best pieces and even a newer computer, since it would help him in the long run, but in the end he sighed and shook his head. "I'm not a crook, plus mom and dad would realize if I take a new computer back home in the middle of a time of crisis."

"True… Well then, up we go!" HerakleKabuterimon said, pointing to his back.

The two partners left, leaving Shinjuku safe from the threat.

"Hand of Fate!"

"Wolf's Claws!"

The holy blast from Angemon's hand vaporized the horde of Vilemon that flew towards them, while WereGarurumon swiped his claws on an 'X' motion to shred apart a big Tyrannomon, he repeated the process against a Tuskmon and a Snimon charging their way. Two Airdramon circled around them and opened their mouths to spat a blast of black fire towards the two, Angemon stood to receive them and spoon his staff like a fan, dispelling the fire as it made impact.

The two serpent-like dragons roared and wanted to charge at them, but their bodies were immobilized by thin, but strong strings.

T.K stood at the top of a building, with the strings of his green sweater holding their enemies in place. Behind him Matt stared at him nervously, not liking the precarious situation his little brother was in. "Hey, are you sure that's safe?"

"Well, it's keeping them in place!" T.K said with a smile, as he kept a good hold of the pair of Deadmon. "Now you guys!"

"Hand of Fate!"

"Wolf's Claws!"

Both attacks struck the dragons, and made them dissolve into mots of dust that drifted into the air. T.K sighed as the strings formed back into the sleeves of his sweater and stepped away from the edge to observe the Control Tower towering over the buildings of the district, "Just one more thing to worry about."

Angemon floated towards the two and offered his hands for them to ride, WereGarurumon standing on his shoulder. Both brothers climbed in and the angel flew towards their real target.

At the base of the tower, Knightmon stood in front of the tower, their swords raised and ready to protect the tower. Their eyes glowing red even under the helmet, they looked up to see Angemon arrive and they prepared their swords to fight.

T.K frowned when he saw them. "They can even take the form of Digimon like this…" Digimon that seemed righteous, if he were to guess he would say that they are holy Digimon like Angemon. A part of his mind wondered if they could imitate their partners' appearances, a thought that made him shudder. He looked up at Angemon. "Would that make your attacks less effective?"

"Only one way to find out," Angemon responded, setting him and Matt down, while WereGarurumon jumped from his shoulder and charged at them.

"Wolf Fang Fist!" WereGarurumon unleashed a barrage of fists that were parried by the sword of the Deadmon, who was able to keep up with his speed.

"Hand of Fate!" Angemon launched his attack, which got blocked by the flat of the other Knightmon's sword. He quit the attack and charged forward, his staff metal clashed against metal as the angel and the knight struggled against the other.

"This is my chance…" T.K said, as he got ready to move.

"Wait!" Matt said, grabbing his shoulder and holding him back.

T.K turned and saw the worry on his brother's eyes. He gave him a reassuring look. "Don't worry bro. I got this."

Matt stared at him for a moment before sighing. T.K has been looking after himself this whole year on the Digital World, had Killua's training and Nen. He let go of him and nodded. "Go."

T.K nodded and let his Nen flow, he moved around the fight, circling around the Dark Spire while the Digimon kept the Deadmon busy. The younger blond reached the back of the spire and took a deep breath as he allowed his entire aura to concentrate on his right fist, "RAAAH!"

His fist impacted against the base of the structure. Cracks like spider web extending across the surface, until it all crumbled down, the debris lifting a cloud of dust, and dissolving in the wind.

The two Deadmon turned around, their armors clattering angrily as their bodies shook with rage at the destruction of the tower. They glared at T.K and charged at him without a second thought, the blond glaring at them cooly, unafraid of what they would do.

"Hand of Fate!"

"Wolf's Claw!"

They didn't even reached him, the attack of both his and his brother's partners delivered the final blows on the two knights, they staggered pass the boy before collapsing and dissolving into smoke.

T.K looked up at the two. "Great job, you two!"

"It was nothing," Angemon smiled at him as he lowered down to the floor. "You were the one who took down the tower after all."

WereGarurumon regressed to a tired out Gabumon. "If being WereGarurumon is tiring, I can't imagine being ZeedGarurumon again…"

Matt walked to him and patted his head. "You did amazing anyways!" He congratulated, and then he looked up at his little brother. "And so were you squirt."

T.K smiled and nodded. "We're done here," he said as he looked up. "Let's go back to Izzy's house and meet with everyone else. There's still the issue of towers around the world."

Matt and Gabumon nodded, both ready to climb on Angemon's hands to get away from the district that never sleeps before something else happens or they're spotted by somebody, especially the cops or any other form of authority that might confuse their partners with even more Deadmon.

When they were flying towards Odaiba, T.K heard his terminal beep. He raised an eyebrow and pulled it out, his face twisting with confusion when he saw it was a message from Kari. "What is…?" He muttered as he read the message, his eyes widening as he read it.

"Matt!" The older blonde turned to his brother. "We have to go to Hikarigaoka!"

"Why?" He asked both him and their partners looking at T.K with confusion.

"Kari just sent me a message," T.K explained as he pocketed his terminal. Sweat falling from his brow. "Hisoka is there, he ambushed them."

Angemon gave a gasp, while Matt and Gabumon's eyes widened. They haven't met the previous Anomaly, but from what the younger kids told them he was really dangerous.

"We're going then!" Angemon nodded as they all flew to the place where everything began for them: Hikarigaoka.

When they arrived at Hikarigaoka, things seemed to be shaped up to be a repeat from an event the Kamiya siblings lived through almost ten years ago; the fight between Greymon and Parrotmon.

The orange dinosaur grappled against the green bird, they both opened their mouths at the same time and unleashed blasts of orange and black flames respectively at each other. They collided and detonated, covering the two on a cloud of smoke.

Greymon jumped out of it, while Parrotmon flew up, glaring daggers at the dinosaur and preparing to release another blast of black fire. "Man, this guy's rough…"

Tai observed the fight from high on a building, sweat falling from his brow at being both so high and at the struggle his partner was showing. Up in the air Nefertimon cleared the area from various Airdramon, while below he could see his sister and Killua disposing of groups of Thundermon, Meramon, and some Frankenstein Digimon named Boltmon all with ease. It filled him with a mix of joy, pride, fright and a tiny amount of jealously seeing his little sister battling Digimon on equal levels.

His thoughts went back to his partner, when Greymon's body got crashed against the building where he was standing. He stumbled a bit before recovering his footing. "Okay, maybe asking Kari and Nefertimon to drop me here wasn't my brightest idea…" He looked down to Greymon as he got back to his feet. "You okay buddy?"

"I've been better," He grunted. "I think as I am right now it's not enough to take on this guy."

"Got it," He said, rising his Digivice. "Then go at him with all you got!"

"Greymon Ultra Digivolves to… MetalGreymon!"

The cyborg dinosaur roared, his withered wings defying physic when he elevated himself in the air and flew towards Parrotmon. The bird dived down with its claws aimed at the dinosaur, but MetalGreymon acted first by shooting his claw forward, "Metal Claw!"

The tip of his claws hit the armored forehead of the Deadmon, making it flinch back and stopping it on its tracks. The claw retreated and MetalGreymon spun in the air, with his chest aiming at the bird. "Giga Destroyer!"

Two missiles shot forward from his chest-plate. Parrotmon's eyes widened when it saw them heading towards to its way, unable to do anything to stop them. They impacted and a claw of smoke covered the giant bird, until its formed started falling towards the floor, its wings ruined with several holes and scorch marks on it. MetalGreymon aimed his claw at it and shot it forward again, this time aiming at its exposed stomach.

The claws of the arm pierced the abdomen of the monster; it shrieked and detonated into a cloud of smoke.

"Great job, MetalGreymon!" Tai cheered for his partner. He turned his gaze towards the tower standing some blocks away from them. "Do you mind?"

"Oh, please, it'll be my pleasure, Tai," MetalGreymon said, as the slots on his chest opened again. "Giga Destroyer!"

The two missiles flew with high precision, striking the middle of the tower and exploding. When the smoke cleared, a big chunk of the tower was missing, and with it the stability of the structure, the tower creaked and fell down to the street. What remained standing and the piece that fell slowly dissipating into nothing.

Kari skipped over a horde of fake Meramon, all of them receiving a hit enhanced with Sunlight to the head, pulverizing them upon contact and making the rest of their bodies disappear into a cloud of black dust moments later. She exhaled and looked at the sky, the sun was still up and the number of enemies has been thinned out, so she wouldn't need to change to Moonlight for now. She looked up when she heard the explosion and turned around in time to see the tower getting destroyed. She smiled in happiness as she looked at the one responsible hovering in the air, "MetalGreymon!"

For his part, Killua disposed of his opponents very quickly, these Boltmon things, whom were Digimon none of them ever met before, were possibly on the level of an Ultra. Not too bad, if their opponents had been any other, but at the hands of the Anomaly they were quickly dispatched. Their tomahawks got broken every time Killua used his nails to block their swings, and when the boy blurred out of sight he took the head of one of them with him. In the end, he didn't even have to use his Hatsu abilities at all.

"Alright," Killua smiled once his enemies were all done for, and it widened when he saw the tower crumble down by MetalGreymon's attack. "It seems we're done."

As if to reaffirm his thoughts, Nefertimon threw down a tied up Airdramon, even without Pegasusmon she could use Power Bond on her own, and finished it up by launching a ray from her Queen's Curse.

She floated down near Kari, as her body glowed and the Digi-Egg of Light was sent back to the girl's terminal. Gatomon gave her a thumbs up. "The sky is clear!"

With Hikarigaoka apparently safe, the group gathered on a bench to give the lunch made by Izzy's mother to their partners for them to recover their strength and fly back to their friend's home.

"Those were all then?" Tai asked.

"At least the ones that brought monsters here," Kari said, leaning on the bench from behind. "If Demiveemon is up to the task then the rest of them will be dealt with in time."

Killua crossed his arms and frowned. "I hate to be that guy, but even with that problem out of the way, we still haven't gotten to the root of this. If the mastermind truly planted the towers, then who's to say he won't do it again?"

The siblings and their partners now shared the frown as they thought of the possibility. Unless they deal with the mastermind it would be an endless cycle of destroying towers and fending off Deadmon.

"My, my. It is truly a conundrum isn't it~?"

That voice caused the hairs behind a third of the party to stand up. They whirled around in time to see the smirking face of Hisoka coming out from an alley, his aura coming back as he dropped his Zetsu.

"Hisoka!" Killua snarled as he let his Ren explode.

Tai looked at the guy with wide eyes, sweat falling from his brow. "So… that guy is the famous Hisoka…"

Gatomon and Agumon stood protectively in front of their partners, the cat hissing in anger at the man. "What do you want?!"

He cocked his head to the side. "Isn't it obvious?" He asked, lifting a finger and pointing at Kari. "Dear Kari over there, she is after all my only ticket back home. I'm sure you understand the desire to go back home, right Killua dear~?"

Killua snarled at him. "Go to hell you bastard."

Kari looked at the man nervously, her hands sweaty as she remembered their last encounter with him. And now none of their friends were around to help.

She shook her head and got into position, no time to doubt, one way or the other they'll have to fight their way out of here. Homeostasis won't be there to save them like before after all.

From within one of the buildings of the abandoned district, Maki sat near one of the windows looking down on the scene in front of her. Her eyes focusing on the two Digidestined, and on their partners, if she could get her hands on one of their Digivices then she could find a way to use Oikawa's door to go back to the Digital World and continue with her research to bring her partner back. She looked at Hisoka and twitched uncomfortably, mixed feelings about her former leader coming to mind, but in the end she just hoped for one thing, both for her objective and for personal feelings. 'Don't lose, Hisoka.'

Tai clenched his fist. This guy, even he could tell he was no joke, if he was something like a grown-up Killua power-wise then they couldn't afford to waste time with him. "I won't let you touch my sister, you freak!"

"How touching," Hisoka said, with a shine on his eyes.

Kari got her terminal out and started typing to her friends for reinforcements with a clear message. 'Hisoka is here.' She sent the message first to T.K, but before she could move to the next person on her contact list, her screen went black making her gasp, "W-What?"

Killua tensed. "From behind!"

They turned to see how from a pool of shadows a figure emerged, taller than even Hisoka, and very clearly not human. Hisoka smirked when he saw the newcomer. "Glad you could join us, Mephismon."

"Mephis…mon?" Kari muttered, getting a small shiver from seeing the enemy.

"Child of Light, come with me calmly, in the name of Lord Dagomon…" Mephismon said in a low, cold voice.

"It talked? Is it even a Deadmon?" Tai questioned. "And who's this 'Lord Dagomon?'"

Killua looked between the two and clicked his teeth, things got from bad to worse in a second. Now they had two opponents to deal with, and the first one was already problematic.

The only solution for this was to split in pairs, Kari and Gatomon—or rather Angewomon—to deal with the newcomer and Agumon as VictoryGreymon and him against Hisoka. The problem was they had no information on the newcomer, and he somehow blocked the terminal so he didn't know if a message was sent to their friends, and they won't give them the chance to contact them.

He could try and take Hisoka by himself, and let Kari and the others to deal with the newcomer and then go back to help him. But who knew how long it would take.

He was having a headache and the fight hadn't started yet.

"I won't go!" Kari said, Sunlight shinning on her body.

"None of us will let you!" Gatomon said, showing her claws.

Tai looked between the two enemies, knowing he'll have to keep himself on the sideline. He saw at his partner, his sister and her partner, and Killua, pieces clicked into his mind although he felt conflicted about it. He raised his Digivice. "Agumon, take the jester down!"

"Agumon Warp Digivolves to… VictoryGreymon!"

Killua looked back at Tai in surprise. It seems he had the same thoughts as him. "Tai, are you sure?"

"That guy is dangerous… And if that Deadmon is like we face before then…" He looked at Kari, with both reassurance but nerves at the same time. "You can take him, right?"

Kari nodded, smiling at her brother. "The both of us can," She said, raising her Digivice.

"Gatomon Ultra Digivolves to… Angewomon!"

"Then it seems we know what to do!" Killua said, turning to glare at Hisoka as VictoryGreymon stood by his side.

VictoryGreymon lowered his sword at him. "I don't know how strong you are, but I won't let you touch Kari."

Hisoka's tongue licked his lips as his aura exploded around him, its density and color reflecting his malicious nature.

For her part, Kari turned to Angewomon. "Take my brother somewhere safe right now, please."

The angel nodded and lifted the boy into her arms and flew up to a building and setting him on the roof. He looked back at her with a pleading look, "Keep her safe."

Angewomon nodded. "Of course," She moved fast to float down to Kari's side. She glared at Mephismon from behind her helmet. "You will not take her."

Kari kept a look of resolve on her face as Sunlight glowed around her, her fists tightly clenched.

Then Hisoka smirked and jumped back, he turned around when he landed and ran towards a different street, followed by his two opponents. Mephismon did the same, getting the same result of his opponents chasing him.

Now on a different area, without distractions, Hisoka turned around just in time to see VictoryGreymon swinging down his sword to him. He raised his hands and caught the sword between his palms, the floor beneath him cracking at the pressure of the attack. He smirked at the strength behind the swing, this Digimon was quite powerful.

He used In and stuck his Bungee Gum to the flat of the sword, connecting it to his hands.

Killua sneaked behind his back and Conjured a yo-yo on his left hand, leaving the real one on his pocket. He threw it at the leg of the clown, the cord wrapping around his tight and gave a tug to the right. Hisoka was thrown out of balance, and fell on his back. VictoryGreymon jumped and aimed his sword at his chest, diving down to stab him down.

Hisoka narrowed his eyes, and while still hiding it with In, he used his Bungee Gum connected to the sword. He tugged it to the side, making the Dragon Warrior miss his mark, the sword digging itself on the floor next to his head.

Killua growled and gave a tug with his yo-yo, using all of his strength to drag him towards him and focusing Nen on his fist. Hisoka dug into his pocket and drew some cards that he threw at him. Killua's eyes widened and he reacted fast, dispelled his yo-yo and jumped up to dodge.

VictoryGreymon got his sword from out of the floor; his whole body got covered in flames as he moved forward, "Victory Charge!"

Hisoka got back to his feet and turned to see the incoming dragon, and looked up to see Killua charging a lightning bolt at the tip of his fingers, "Narukami!"

This was quite literally being trapped between getting stuck between a sword and a hard place. Hisoka jumped over VictoryGreymon and crossed his arms while coating them with his Bungee Gum to use its properties of rubber to withstand the electricity of the lighting, though the blast did sent him flying back. He flipped in the air and landed on one knee, carried by the momentum before skidding to a stop. He looked up and smirked at his opponents.

Killua landed while clicking his teeth, while VictoryGreymon shifted the grip on his sword while grunting, "He's a slippery one, isn't he?"

"Tell me about it," Killua grunted back, straightening himself.

"Your coordination is superb, I was really worried about my safety for a moment," Hisoka complimented, and the most disturbing part was how honest he sounded. "Tools like that are really dangerous~"

He lifted his hand, revealing his Bungee Gum. Killua cursed and followed the trail to see it connected to the Dramon Breaker. He didn't waste more time and used Gyo, deciding to keep it permanently on his eyes for as long as this fight lasts.

"Bungee Gum, contract!" To their surprise, the thread shrank and Hisoka catapulted himself at a fast speed towards the dragon.

VictoryGreymon didn't have time to react when he received a powerful Gyo infused drill kick to the face that sent him bouncing to the end of the street. Hisoka landed and turn to Killua, who didn't have time to worry about his friend as the magician commenced his attack.

He threw various thrusts with his absurdly long nails at Killua, who dodged and weaved out of the way. He dropped down and tried to sweep his leg, but Hisoka jumped and aimed an open palm strike at his head. Killua rolled out of the way, Hisoka's hand impacting against the concrete and leaving a crack on it.

Killua sprang back to his feet and aimed a kick to his head, Hisoka raised his forearm to protect himself and grabbed his leg. Growling, Killua went to kick with his free leg, but the result was the same. Yet he had already thought of that and aimed a jab to the clown's face, Hisoka's eyes narrowed and he spun around, charging momentum before throwing Killua away.

The boy spun in the air and planted his feet down, Hisoka charging right after him. Yet from behind a hulking figure coated in fire charged at him, the magician looked back to see VictoryGreymon ready to tackle him with his Victory Charge.

He extended his hand and threw a thread of his Hatsu to one of the surrounding buildings, and with a burst of Nen and by contracting the thread he got disconnected from the floor and out of the way from VictoryGreymon's attack.

"Not this time!" The Mega growled as he split his sword into two claws, attaching them to his gauntlets and gathering energy at their tips. "Trident Gaia!"

A beam of heat was launched at Hisoka while he was up in the air. The magician let go of the thread and crossed his arms while using Ken to protect himself from the attack. An explosion engulfed the body of the magician, the cloud of smoke hiding him from sight. Killua knew how crafty the man could be, he Conjured his yo-yo and threw it at the cloud of smoke, just in time for the man to jump out from the cloud of smoke.

He twirled in the air and landed with a perfect position that would've given him a ten in gymnastics. Yet his appearance has seen better days, when he turn around they saw his arms with second degree burns, his face sporting some scorch marks and his hair ruffled from the blast.

Seeing him like that gave Killua a realization. 'Of course, a weakness from Bungee Gum is the heat! Who cares about rubber or gum when it can be carbonized?' Good thing VictoryGreymon was at his side on this battle then.

Hisoka dust his clothes off, unbothered by the burns on his arms, "My, my. That was an impressive attack."

He looked up at them and they both tensed, the glistening on his eyes growing more and more dangerous. "I guess I should step up my game then."

Those words didn't fill the couple with security.

When they reached a different street, the partners of light didn't waste any time. Angewomon's gloves extended and she took aim, "Celestial Arrow!"

Mephismon leaped back to avoid the arrow, Kari took the chance and moved forward with a burst of Nen. She reared her fist back and threw a punch, Mephismon batted it away but she didn't relented, she continued on throwing fast speed hits at him, all of them getting swatted by the Deadmon. She jumped back and landed on a crouch, before hitting the floor, lifting a cloud of dust and debris from the impact.

Mephismon narrowed his eyes and tried to detect her with his other senses, his ears twitched and he moved out of the way when various arrows made of light rained down on him, making him jump out of the way.

His eyes bulged and he let out a gasp when something impacted against his back. Kari had used the cloud of smoke and Zetsu to sneak behind him, while Angewomon attacked from the sky, before activating Sunlight again to attack him with a roundhouse kick. The force of the attack sent him flying forward.

With a maneuver he spun around and crouched to land. The dust dissipated and the partners glared at their opponent as he kept a neutral look on his face. "Impressive, Child of Light… The power you're using is the one the Anomalies possess."

None of the girls said anything, not getting the point their opponent was trying to make.

"My mission is to take you to our king alive, while the former Anomaly deals with the current one," He elaborated. To the girls' impression, black energy started to crackle around his hands. "Nothing ever said that you had to be unharmed for that. Dark Sabbath!"

"Watch out!" Kari said as the two moved out of the way of a blast of dark energy sent from the hands of their opponent.

Angewomon recovered and the feathers on her glove extended, and she charged three arrows at the same time, "Celestial Arrow!"

Mephismon looked up and raised his hand where a cloud of black smoke was released, "Death Cloud."

The smoke covered the arrows, just as they were a few centimeters away from him, the arrows turned into a black color before they were completely disintegrated.

Angewomon gasped at this, her eyes wide behind her helmet, "What?!"

Mephismon extended the wings on his back and flew upwards delivering an uppercut to the angel, before planting his hand on her stomach, "Dark Sabbath!"

"AAAAH!" Angewomon screamed as she was impacted point blank by the attack and sent crashing to the ground.

"Angewomon!" Kari screamed after her partner, just as Mephismon landed. She glared at him and charged. "How dare you!"

Mephismon turned and dodged a reckless punch from Kari, giving him the chance to grab her arm and hit her in the stomach. She gasped out in pain and spit flew from her mouth. He raised her above her head and then slammed her on the floor, making her yell in pain before a hand clamped around her mouth.

"Enough of this games; you'll come with me, Child of Light…" Mephismon said as he glared down at him.

Despite the clear fear on her eyes, she didn't give up. Her hands grabbed the arm holding her and applied pressure, a hissing noise came as the skin of the arm of her attacker, he grimaced but he didn't let her go. "Go to sleep now," He told her as his free arm crackled with energy as he closed it into a fist. "When you wake up, you'll see our king in all of his glory."

"Hand of Fate!"

Mephismon only had time to look up when he received an orange blast that threw him off the girl. Kari gasped in relief and sat up to see the reinforcements arriving, Angemon, with the Ishida-Takaishi brothers on his hands along with Gabumon, "Guys!"

"Kari, what happened?" T.K asked as he climbed out from his partners hand, Matt and Gabumon following him. "Where are Tai and Killua? Where's Hisoka?"

"My brother is over that building, and Killua is fighting Hisoka with VictoryGreymon on another street," She explained rapidly, seeing as Mephismon was getting back to his feet.

"I see…" T.K muttered. "Matt, can you go and help them deal with Hisoka?"

"Really?" Matt asked, as he looked at the Deadmon Kari was fighting. "Are you sure you guys can take him."

T.K looked between Kari, the downed Angewomon and their rising opponent. Hisoka was a dangerous opponent, they couldn't do much against him, but two Megas plus Killua could do more. And if Kari and Angewomon could fend off against this new opponent, then with their help they can pull of a victory and go aid them.

He turned to his older brother and nodded. "Yes, please go."

Matt nodded, seeing the resolve on his little brother. "Okay then, be safe," He turned to his partner, "Gabumon!"

His partner nodded eager to do this.

"Gabumon Warp Digivolves to… ZeedGarurumon!"

The older blonde mounted his partner and flew off in the indicated direction.

Mephismon glared at the angel and the blonde that arrived. "More interference," He muttered.

T.K turned to Kari as his Nen flowed. "Did you contact the others?" He whispered.

She frowned. "I was expecting that you did. This guy did something to my terminal."

He grimaced, realizing his mistake. "Sorry…"

"It's okay," She reassured. "Can you distract him, I wanna check on Angewomon, he attacked her."

"Sure," He said, taking out his Digivice. "Angemon!"

"Angemon Ultra Digivolves to… Magnaangemon!"

The couple of hope attacked in synch, T.K's Ren spiking and Magnaangemon diving with Excalibur. Mephismon dodged his attacks, leaping around to dodge them, leaving Kari with the chance to run to her downed partner.

Angewomon's body fizzled, trying to maintain her form despite the burn mark on her abdomen. Kari kneeled next to her and placed her hands on her stomach. "It's okay, I'm here Angewomon…"

Her aura glowed brighter than ever, the symbol of her Crest glowing on her Digivice. Angewomon's wound started vanishing and her form became more stable, Kari's brow furrowed with effort, but compared to when she healed Killua after his last fight with Blademon this was much simpler.

Angewomon exhaled in relief and sat up. "Thank you, Kari," She smiled at her, before looking at the fight. "We have back up then…"

Kari nodded, taking a moment to regain her breath. "Yes… We have to do our part too."

Angewomon nodded and the two went to aid their friends.

When Hisoka said he was going to step up on his game, he wasn't kidding around. He clenched his fists and let his Ren out, before changing it into his Hatsu, coating his body with Bungee Gum.

He charged at his opponents at full speed and landed a side kick to VictoryGreymon's chin. Killua gasped in surprise before narrowing his eyes and moving forward, he tried to do the same to Hisoka but he just leaned back to avoid the kick. Killua blurred out of sight and appeared behind the magician's back to try and aim a kick to his back, but Hisoka turned around and grabbed his leg. He spun him around and threw him away.

Killua flipped on his hands and landed on his feet, when he looked up, Hisoka was already upon him with his fists up and cupped together, before delivering a hammer punch to his head. Killua's head impacted against the concrete, his eyes budging out of his sockets and a gasp of pain leaving his lips.

Hisoka went for a stomp, but the boy rolled out of the way and jumped back to his feet. Killua used Gyo to make sure that attack didn't stick a piece of Bungee Gum on him, feeling relief at not seeing a thread on him.

Hisoka shot his arms forward, two threads of Bungee Gum speeding past him and connecting to the sides of a building, he grinned and spoke, "Bungee Gum: Contract."

Killua jumped over as Hisoka used the contraction of his Bungee Gum to launch himself towards him like a rocket. The magician reached the building and pressed his feet on the building, he propelled himself with Nen back at the boy. Just as Killua landed, he turned to see the man coming at him with his fist reared back, he crossed his arms to protect himself, bracing for impact. But then…

"Zeed Canon!" A cyan blast impacted against the side of the jester, sending him bouncing to the street, his side frosting as he bounced.

Killua's eyes widened and smiled when he saw the newcomer, "ZeedGarurumon!"

The wolf landed next to the barely conscious VictoryGreymon, nudging him with his muzzle. "Are you guys okay?"

VictoryGreymon groaned as he sat up. "Barely… That guy hits like a truck…"

Hisoka got back on his feet and clenched all muscles on his left side, the frost around it cracking and falling down as he smiled at the wolf, "Oh~? Here comes a new challenger…"

The four stood on a standoff that didn't lasted that much, for Hisoka's hunger could be seen through his eyes, as his smile widened to untold levels and his fingers twitched with desire, the tightness of his pants also becoming more prominent too.

He moved forward, not giving a chance for them to come up with a plan. He jumped in between the two Megas and made a split in the air to land a kick on them that sent them flying to opposite buildings; he connected threads of Bungee Gum to their bodies through their feet and then crossed them to tug them back and resulting on their bodies colliding against each other.

When he landed he moved to the side to avoid the strikes from Killua's yo-yos, both of them Nen Conjuring.

The boy was frustrated. With Hisoka coated in Bungee Gum, he couldn't use Godspeed, or even hit him without getting stuck to his mercy. He couldn't even flick his switch on to kill him because his swipes will get caught on that stupid gum of his. He reeled his yo-yo's back and aimed one of them to the man's legs, he jumped over it to avoid it and threw the second one at his torso, but Hisoka caught it.

Hisoka grabbed the cord and tugged him forward, Killua dispelled the yo-yos to avoid getting close to him, he could already feel the toll on Conjuring yo-yos so frequently, but with only one physical remaining and against an opponent that could cut it like Hisoka, he preferred to save it for the moment.

Hisoka chuckled; while behind him he noticed the two struggled to get up after those kicks, "C'mon Killua dear. I know you can do better than that," He said, his smile widening and a sadistic gleam on his eyes. "I know your butler did better than this."

Killua raised an eyebrow at this. "Butler? What are you talking about?"

"Hmmm…" Hisoka tapped his chin as he thought about it. "What was his name again? A gentleman with glasses and that used coins?"

"Gotoh?" Killua muttered, looking at Hisoka with furrowed brows. "What's with him?"

"Well, he did give me a better fight than the one you're offering…" Hisoka said, shrugging. "That is before I slit his throat open…"

Killua blinked, his spine becoming cold. Hisoka's words ringing on his mind, "Huh?"

"When you were running around with your sister," Hisoka said. "He tried to defend you, he put a good fight but in the end…Well, he just came of short."

Killua felt himself shake with unknown emotion. He was lying, he had to be lying. Gotoh couldn't have died against someone like him; he was one of the top butlers of the Zoldycks, who looked after him when he was a kid, only second next to Tsubone!

He couldn't have… Hisoka had to be lying, trying to get on his head.

"What's wrong?" Hisoka asked. "Cat got your tongue?"

"Shut up!" Killua snapped. "You're just worming your way into my head, so stop saying bullshit!"

"I'm just telling you something I thought you knew," Hisoka said with a headshake. "Did he mattered so little to you that you had to learn this from me?"

"I told you to shut up!" Killua hissed, trying to keep himself from lashing out.

"Just saying the truth, if you wish to deny the truth…" He raised his hand and made a motion with it. "Come and shut my mouth."

He was playing him. Another thing to check on his world, to contact Gotoh and prove that Hisoka was just trying to mess with him…

Yet a part of him, one that he wished would shut up, was telling him that Hisoka described Gotoh too well to have never met him before. And if these two really fought, then he didn't saw the two of them leaving the fight alive.

"Victory Charge!"

"Full Metal Breath!"

Hisoka and Killua looked back to see the Megas back on their feet and attacking him head-on. They moved to the side to avoid the blast from the Full Metal Breath. Hisoka looked in the direction of the blast as it detonated at the end of the street, only to look up to see VictoryGreymon with his sword enveloped in flames coming down on him. He moved to the side and the sword truck the concrete, yet he dragged it across from it, lifting debris and bringing his sword up on a diagonal slash which was dodged by Hisoka jumping back.

Not willing to let that go, he detached his sword and charged energy on its tips, "Trident Gaia!"

Not willing to try and tank that attack again, Hisoka propelled himself to the air, which made him an easier target for ZeedGarurumon, who charged energy on his back, "Zeed Canon!"

Hisoka saw the icy blast coming to him and pointed a finger to a surrounding building to connect the Bungee Gum and tug himself there to avoid it. He planted his feet on it, sticking with the Bungee Gum and looking down at the regrouped team.

"Killua are you okay?" VictoryGreymon asked as he looked the voice tense face.

"Yeah…" He said, taking a deep breath.

"That guy does hit hard…" ZeedGarurumon said. "I can still hear the ringing on my ears."

Hisoka smirked and let himself fall from his position, he smirked at them and made the same gesture he did earlier with Killua, to come at him.

Killua glared at Hisoka, whatever was the truth he would discover it by going back to his world. For now he had to have his head in the game. "VictoryGreymon, let's attack together, your flame can cut through his coat of Nen. ZeedGarurumon cover us."

"Right!"

The three of them were ready, hoping it would be enough to fight back their opponent, and if they were being hopeful, to actually beat him.

Matt frowned as he lowered the scope lend to him by Tai. "Not gonna lie, things are looking ugly…" He said, giving the scope back to his friend.

Tai had seen the fights until that point and couldn't help but agree. Between Hisoka dancing circles around their partners and friends, defying logic by seemingly flying from one building to another with what he assumed was Nen, and then seeing their siblings fight against a really strong Deadmon. Tai hated to be left on the sidelines, but was prudent enough to know there was nothing they could to right now.

From behind the door that leads to the roof, one Maki Himegawa watched the two boys. She knew these two possess new Digivices, at least more advanced than hers. If she could get her hands on one of them, or on one of the newest generations then her attempts to go back to the Digital World could actually work out.

She gripped her weapon, she'll obtain it, one way or the other.

She has to… For Tapirmon!

She has to… She has to…

Magnaangemon swung his sword at the Deadmon, who leaned back, weaved and dodged each strike or thrust the angel had aimed for him. Angewomon flew behind the two and brought her arms together before opening them in an arc, "Celestial Atmosphere!"

A pink blast was sent in the Deadmon's direction; he looked back at it and extended a hand where black clouds emerged from, "Death Cloud!"

A smoke screen appeared between the two, and once it came in contact with the female angel's attack it turned the pink blast into a dark color before disintegrating. Angewomon clenched her fists in anger, "Again?!"

Mephismon turned his attention back to Magnaangemon, just barely dodging a thrust aimed to his head. Dark energy crackled on his hands and he leaped back before extending his palms towards the two angels, "Dark Sabbath!"

Magnaangemon used Excalibur to protect himself, but even then the force of the attack dragged him across the street, while Angewomon flew out of the way, not wanting to experience the force of that attack again.

While in the air, Mephismon's body got wrapped in strings before being slammed down into the floor. He glared up to see T.K holding him in place, and Kari running from behind him with Sunlight glowing around her.

With his hands pinned to the side, Mephismon relief on his head to attack. His cheeks puffed and then he exhaled a breath of black fire towards the incoming Kari and his retainer T.K. They gave a gasp and were forced to stop their attacks, Kari moving to the side and T.K releasing him from his bindings.

The blonde winced and growled as he looked down at their sleeves, they weren't so lucky on getting away, now they were burnt up to his elbows, hindering with the usual use of his technique.

Magnaangemon glared down at their opponent. Hisoka was still out there, and if the others haven't come back yet was because they were still fighting him, they had to deal with this enemy and fast. He raised Excalibur and looked at the others; he drew a circle and yelled at the others, "Stand back guys! Gate of Destiny!"

As they looked up, they knew what he was about to. T.K and Kari ran to a space between buildings while Angewomon flew out of the gate's reach as it opened.

The air started to get sucked, and with it every matter around it. Mephismon gritted his teeth and planted his feet. "What a terrifying attack…" He said as he looked at the glowing power of the gate. "But I have a mission to fulfill, you won't stop me! Dark Cloud!"

The lethal smoke emanated from his hands in even greater quantities, covering the area where the Deadmon was standing. Just like everything else within the range of the gate it got absorbed and dragged into the void behind its golden appearance. The gates closed as it absorbed all of the smoke, contrary to what it did to Angewomon's attacks it didn't seemed affected by the smoke's effects.

The street was cleared out, without a trace of their opponent.

Kari and T.K walked out of their hiding place, while Angewomon flew closer to them, "He's gone," She said with relief.

For a moment, hope and relief washed through the group. Glad that such an opponent has been dealt with. Unbeknown to them, right in the shadow of Magnaangemon two pair of red eyes glowed with hunger.

Mephismon emerged from the shadows, jumping behind Magnaangemon's back, catching everyone by surprise. When he summoned his Dark Cloud, he merged with the shadows as he did for transportation and merged with the shadow of the angel, using his attack as a smoke screen to make everyone believe he was absorbed.

"Black Sabbath!" At point blank he fired the dark attack on Magnaangemon's back, sending the angel crashing towards the floor, the blast pushing him down even when his body impacted with the concrete.

"MAGNAANGEMON!" His friends yelled in concern, the loudest of them being T.K.

To their dismay, the angel's body glowed and reverted back to an injured Patamon. Their dismay turned to anger, as they all glared at the Deadmon.

"You!" Angewomon growled as she charged her strongest attack, "Celestial Atmosphere!"

"Useless," He grunted, keeping himself in the air with the wings on his back as he raised one hand with smoke and another with dark energy. "Dark Cloud, Black Sabbath!"

With a combination of his attacks, the Dark Cloud cancelled the attack and the Black Sabbath impacted against Angewomon for the second time that day. She shared the same fate as her fellow angel, the beam pushing her down to the ground, and this time her body didn't held her form. She glowed and reverted back to Gatomon, pain clear on her face.

"GATOMON!" Kari screamed, distressed for the state of her partner.

Mephismon landed in front of them, the two children moving to stand in front of their downed partners. The Deadmon looked at them, but his gaze soon landed on Kari, "Child of Light. Your friends need not to suffer. Come with me, and I'll spare them. Continue with this foolish resistance, and you'll bring nothing but suffering to them."

Kari glared back at him, though inside her his words struck a nerve. Just like five years ago people were suffering because of her, and a treacherous part of her thought that maybe giving up would be the best. That part of her was silenced by her desire to not yield to a monster like him.

"You and those other monsters are the ones attacking us," T.K said with a glare, his Ren flaring angrily. "You are the only ones to blame here!"

Kari shot T.K a grateful look before turning back to glare at the Deadmon. "I don't care what you want from me, but I won't let you continue to hurt any more innocent people," She said, Sunlight flaring up.

Mephismon looked at the two neutrally, before crouching down and extending his arms. "Then I won't try to convince you with words any more. The Child of Hope will perish, and you will come with me."

He moved almost like a blur, he dashed forward and the two barely had time to react and block his arms as he intended to slam them on their abdomens. The strength behind them sent them flying backwards, their backs bouncing on the floor. Mephismon melted on his shadow and moved forward, emerging in between the two, facing T.K, he raised his arm and threw a powerful left hook.

T.K raised his arm to block it, but the strength of the attack was enough to send him flying towards a building. He crashed against the wall and spit and blood came out of his mouth.

Angered, Kari jumped and tried to deliver a hammer punch to the head. Mephismon sidestepped and the girl's attack impacted the floor, leaving a crack. He took advantage of her position on the floor and kicked her in the stomach, lifting her from the ground. She spat spit mixed with some of her stomach's contents, before being sent flying towards the same wall where T.K was sent.

The two of them stumbled to get up, pain flaring around their bodies after getting crashed against the wall. Kari had blood running down her temple, and her clothes had tears on them, while T.K shared the blood coming from his forehead, and a trail coming down his lip. Mephismon observed them with a neutral look, which they returned with a full-on glare, their Ren bursting out and their faces showing the resolve to fight to stop him.

"It's no use for you to keep standing," Mephismon droned as he shook his head. "This fight will only have one ending."

"So you say…" T.K said, glaring at him.

"But we don't want to back down," Kari continued, keeping her resolve firm. "We never did, and this won't be the first time. Everyone else is giving their all, so we must do it too!"

The tactic Killua came up with, crumbled apart very soon…

Killua and VictoryGreymon attacked in tandem, with the dragon warrior taking the lead with his Victory Charge. He charged forward with the speed of a bullet, while keeping his sword at his side. He went for an horizontal cut that Hisoka stopped by leaning back, the sword passing parallel to his torso.

Killua moved to his side and threw a Conjured yo-yo to the head of the jester, without room for mobility the toy impacted against his head, throwing him off balance and making him stumble to the side. The yo-yo dispelling and leaving Killua panting slightly at the overuse of Conjuring techniques.

Hisoka quickly regained his balance and looked to the side to see a blast from the Zeed Canon coming his way. He jumped over it, only to be received in the air by VictoryGreymon, who was awaiting him with an overhead swing.

Hisoka focused Nen on his hands and caught the sword in his palms like at the start of the fight, but he noticed how it was getting warm at the touch. He pushed it to the side and let go just as the sword caught in flames due to the Victory Charge.

The two landed and VictoryGreymon moved to attack Hisoka with a thrust of his sword. Hisoka narrowed his eyes as he saw him coming, his mind going into overdrive as he moved to the side to dodge. 'If I jump the wolf will blast me, if I stay on earth Killua and this Digimon will attack. And his fire attacks are quite troublesome; Bungee Gum won't protect me of those.'

He ducked from a swing and leaped back, throwing some of his cards, coated in Nen. Killua got in the way and used his claws to swipe them away, while VictoryGreymon jumped behind him, with his sword detached, "Trident Gaia!"

The magician ran forward, ducking just below the hot beam of energy that impacted where he was standing. As he ran towards his two main opponents, he saw them getting into position. He was going to play a gamble here, but heck, what was life without risks?

He dropped his Hatsu and used Ko on his right foot, before stopping and stomping hard to get a cloud of debris. He grinned as he used Zetsu to hide his presence. 'Thank you for this idea, Dear Gon~"

Killua swiped his claws and VictoryGreymon his sword to clear the dust, but when they did, Hisoka was not in front of them but in reality he was behind them, running towards ZeedGarurumon.

"Full Metal Breath!" ZeedGarurumon fired his breath to the magician to push him back.

Hisoka jumped over and dodged the freezing attack, he looked back to see Killua and VictoryGreymon growing closer to attack. He had to act fast and get rid of a problem.

He used In to made it seem like he hadn't coated himself with Bungee Gum again to fool Killua and shot his hand forward connecting the Bungee Gum to the nuzzle of the Zeed Canon. He tugged himself towards the wolf and landed on top of the canon and produced three of his cards to stab them on the top, making ZeedGarurumon growl in pain, before jumping off the canon and leaving that piece of Bungee Gum connected to the canon.

"Why you…!" ZeedGarurumon growled as he turned again to attack. "ZeedCanon!"

Hisoka smirked.

Sparks came out of the places where he stabbed his cards, and the piece of Bungee Gum connected to the muzzle made contact with the blast, causing it to detonate right there and causing an explosion on the canon.

"AAAAAGH!" ZeedGarurumon's eyes shrank in pain as he shrieked in pain and his form regressed to Tsunomon's.

"TSUNOMON!" Both VictoryGreymon and Killua exclaimed in distress.

Hisoka dropped his In, letting them see his aura. Enraged, VictoryGreymon aimed his attack at the magician, standing in front of his fallen friend, "TRIDENT GAIA!"

Hisoka jumped over the attack, this time without worrying from a laser coming in his direction, he threw cards at the Dragon Warrior, who held the flat of his sword to block them, but to his surprise they became stick. They were coated with Bungee Gum. "W-What?!"

Hisoka propelled himself with one hand, while rearing the other back. When he was close enough, he dropped his Hatsu and used Ko to deliver a powerful haymaker to VictoryGreymon that sent him flying towards a building, and through his walls.

"VictoryGreymon!" Killua yelled, watching the whole the form of his friend did.

From inside the building, VictoryGreymon's body glowed and reverted to a badly bruised Koromon.

"Two down," Hisoka said, turning to Killua, "One to go."

"You bastard!" Killua hissed in anger, and sharpening his claws.

Hisoka immediately charged, moving at full speed at him. Killua leaned away to dodge a jab, constantly having to dodge his punches to avoid getting stuck into the Bungee Gum.

Sadly, Hisoka had more experience and more skills. He landed a punch on Killua's nose that sent him flying back, before Hisoka tensed the thread that got connected to his face and pulled him back.

Killua cursed, Bungee Gum got connected to his face. Now he'll dance to Hisoka's tune.

He scoffed, 'Yeah, right!"

As he got dragged towards Hisoka, he activated Godspeed. 'Just like Gon did, if I can't run, if I can't hide. Then I will fight with all I got!'

Hisoka's eyes looked at Killua as he charged at him and grinned. 'Good… Good! Killua dear, dear Killua! Give it everything to me! Give it! GIVE ME WHAT GON CAN'T GIVE ME ANYMORE!'

Killua couldn't use his speed to move freely, he knew that if he vanished from Hisoka's sight, he would tug him back like a dog with a leash, so he would use his velocity for the only reason of attacking.

And so, he struck his fist across his face. His fists getting stuck on the substance of the Bungee Gum, but this time he wasn't going to let it deter him. With his speed on his favor he pulled back his fist as much as he could and delivered another hit with high speed at the face of the magician. The acceleration making the hits actually making Hisoka recoil at the fast fists impacting against his head, yet the smirk never left his face.

'Amazing~ outstanding~ Oh, Killua dear, how much have you advanced, how much more can you reach, I'm sure that one day compared to you your brother is going to be nothing but an ant!' Hisoka exclaimed, a maniacal glint on his eyes. 'Mephismon has to get that girl back to Dagomon, and that'll be it. I'll go back to my fight with Chrollo, and I can even make sure you go back with me so you nurture your talent back at our world. So, my dear boy…'

He clenched his fist and took advantage of his position trapped to his aura, 'Stop being so stubborn!'

The fist got driven into the boy's solar plexus with tremendous strength, Killua stopped his assault as his eyes bulged and the air left his body, along with some blood splattering the face of. Hisoka allowed his aura to stretch and let the boy sent flying and bouncing across the street.

Killua could feel the ringing on his ears, as well as the scraps and cuts around his body. Hisoka started contracting the threads on his fists to reel him up to him, Killua scowled and charged forward.

'This is reckless, is desperate, heck I'm sure this is Gon's alley more than mine!' Killua thought as he gritted his teeth in anger. 'But the moment he put a finger on me I was trapped to his tune. I will use every ounce of speed Godspeed grants me to pummel his stupid face in!'

Hisoka seemed to get his intentions as he got ready by crossing his already burnt arms up on his face to try and minimize the damage. This was the fight between an unmovable object as Hisoka, and an unstoppable force as Killua.

'No matter what…' He clenched his fists as he charged electricity on his muscles to augment the speed. 'I won't let this guy get away with this! I won't let him take Kari away!'

This was becoming nonsense to Mephismon.

The dust cleared in front of him, the Child of Light and the Child of Hope were lying down on the floor with various cuts and bruises. Their partners were struggling to get back up as they watched them sprawled on the ground.

And yet they got back up, the Child of Light looking better than the Child of Hope, all because Mephismon didn't wanted to bring real harm to the girl, but still she should've been out of combat by now. And yet, these two continued to get up, and it was getting tiring, or at least irritating. If they continue to be this stubborn, he'll have no other choice but to use his Black Sabbath full force on the boy and hold it back against the Child of Light.

"Damn… what kind of monster is he…?" Gatomon hissed, trying to get back up.

"T-T.K…" Patamon whimpered, wanting to help his friends.

T.K and Kari could barely stand on their feet, they were wobbling in place and their Ten was barely holding itself in place and they barely had the strength to turn it into Ren, much less use their Hatsus.

Mephismon walked forward. "You have both reached your limits; I had been holding myself back and yet you have barely proven to be a challenge," he stopped a few feet in front of them. "Child of Light, for the sake of your friends I ask you again. Come quietly, my lord is waiting for your arrival."

Kari shook her head. "No, I won't go there, not like this!" She said, gritting her teeth. "And even if I go, how would I know you'll keep your word, that no one else would get hurt?!"

"Our king wishes you for the sake of our world and nothing more," Mephismon explained. "We don't have any further interest in this world."

"And we're just supposed to take your word for granted?!" T.K spat. "You could have taken Kari there at the start of all this and continue to attack our world!"

"I don't know why you really want me for… but if for me to go you have to put people in danger—including my friends and family— then I prefer to continue fighting you!"

Both their declarations made, the children actually stood taller. Sadly, that wasn't enough for their stamina to come back, or for them to have enough strength to fight them.

However, on their pockets their Digivices showed the symbols of their Crests brightly on their screens.

Mephismon wordlessly raised his hand, dark energy gathering around it making the two children and their partners behind them to tense in anticipation. His hand specifically aimed at T.K.

The boy naturally felt fear. He couldn't move, his partner and friends were as bad as him, there was no logical way for him to get out of this one.

And yet a part his mind went to different thoughts, hopes of optimism even in this dark moment. 'I… I might not get out of this one. But I know… I know the others will stop this guy and whoever is the one pulling the strings! I… I just wish it didn't have to come to this…'

Kari for her part just looked at the monster with horror and impotence. He wasn't taking any more chances, he was going to kill T.K because of her, and there was nothing she could do… Was there? 'Am I really just going to let it happen? No! I can't, I have to do something! I don't want any of my friends to die for me, not if still can do something for them and for myself!'

She forced her wobbly legs to move, just as Mephismon spoke, "Dark Sabbath."

The blast of energy was sent straight towards the blonde. T.K could faintly hear Patamon's cries, all while he could only brace himself for this, while hoping that in the end his friends would stop these creatures, that in the end they would all save both worlds. Meanwhile, Kari ran, ran with the bare strengths she had, she wasn't going to allow this to happen, she won't let anyone to suffer in her watch.

Her body collided with T.K's just as a bright light emanated from their pockets.

The beam impacted and a cloud of smoke was lifted, Mephismon for a moment grew nervous as he saw the Child of Light getting on the way of his attack, 'No, the girl!'

The smoke cleared and his eyes widened.

A giant barrier of light protected the two children and their partners, as tall as the surrounding building, and as large as the street they were on, it looked like a giant, transparent wall.

T.K and Kari were both on the ground after the girl tackled the boy, and the two stared at the barrier in awe. Kari got off the blonde and stared at it, "This… This is…"

They both took out their Digivices; they were glowing brighter than ever with the symbol of their Crests on them. The light grew brighter and brighter and they could feel it bathing them.

Their eyes widened as they felt the light soothing their aching bodies, but most importantly, bathing them with a familiar sensation.

'This is like… Like crossing the Digiport…' They both thought as the light enveloped them.

The entire device started to glow on a golden color and as it dimmed down their appearances had changed: Where before the Digivices were white with the trims on the edges with their respective colors, now it was different; T.K's was completely green with golden trims on the edges, while Kari's was pink with the same golden trims on the edges.

Patamon and Gatomon sat up, their bodies glowing with the same light as their partners and walking towards them. Gatomon stood in front of Kari, smiling at her and extending her hand to her, "Kari… Let's fight together!"

"Together…?" The girl questioned.

Patamon nodded, flapping up to T.K, "Yeah, just like always, right?'

T.K looked at him and nodded. "Yes, like always!"

Kari smiled and clenched her new Digivice tightly on her hands, and grabbing Gatomon's with the other, "Right!"

A golden light bathed both couples, forcing Mephismon to take steps back while shielding his eyes. "W-What the hell is this?!"

On the Digital World, Azulongmon felt it and he grinned.

"They've done it. Some of the children had unlocked their true potential, and with it used the power of my Digicore," His voice rumbled across the mountains. "With all of their feats ever since meeting the Anomaly they had actually fought next to their partners, instead of just being their source for evolution. Why not foment that bond even further with a new way of evolution…"

He looked up to the skies of his world, feeling the connection between his Digicore and the newfound power of the children.

"That power… will be known as…"

"MATRIX EVOLUTION!"

Both felt it, they felt as their Digivice became one with their bodies in some way and how their bodies floated in the air and became connected to their Digimon's.

"Gatomon Digivolves to…" Gatomon didn't know what was happening, but that didn't meant she didn't like it. Kari and she merged and she felt her body changing. It was as if her strength as Angewomon got amplified, and the change in her body was similar, adopting a humanoid body and a strong armor covering her and eight golden wings erupting from her back, and a helmet with a golden cross covering her face, "OPHANIMON!"

"Patamon Digivolves to…" It was the strangest sensation ever. T.K floated above him and then he felt something click. His body grew like he became his evolved form, but reinforced by a strong armor around his body, ten golden wings sprouting from his back and helmet covering his whole head, with a golden cross on the top, "SERAPHIMON!"

The wall of light dissipated, and the two new angels showed themselves to Mephismon to their full splendor. They were as tall as he was, and yet the presence made him feel small in comparison.

"The Child of Light… What happened to her?" He demanded, his hands crackling with energy.

Ophanimon walked forward, her hands extending forward and summoning a spear as she kept a smirk on her face. "Why don't you take a guess?"

When Kari opened her eyes again, she felt like she was floating. She looked around and then down, realizing that her body was actually naked, but oddly enough she didn't felt embarrassed, it felt like she was taking a warm and relaxing bath. "This is…"

"Kari?"

"Gatomon?" Kari looked around for her partner, "Where are you?"

"I'm not sure…" Gatomon said. "It's like I'm right next to you and yet I'm not… It's strange."

Kari looked in front of her, her vision was strange. It was like she was seeing this strange pink space where she was floating, yet at the same time she could see the world around her, with Mephismon standing in front of her and the new evolution of Patamon next to her.

"I don't really get what's happening, but… I feel better than ever," Kari commented with a smile.

"Yes… Me too, it's funny, it's like we converse separately and yet I feel closer to you than ever!" Gatomon's voice said.

On the outside Mephismon's hand crackled with energy as he leaped back and brought them together, "Black Sabbath!"

Ophanimon raiser her free arm and a shield appeared in her forearm, she brought it in front of her and protected herself from the powerful attack of the Deadmon.

Seraphimon observed as he clenched his fists with determination.

T.K observed the green space where he was floating. He lacked any of his clothes and yet that was the last thing on his mind, "Patamon?"

"I'm here T.K! Somewhere, or everywhere I think…" Patamon said, sounding sheepish.

T.K hummed in though. "Is this the gift Azulongmon mentioned?" He mumbled. "It's amazing."

"It is and that means Davis and the others can reach this too!" Patamon's voice echoed.

T.K nodded as he looked ahead, his vision showing him this strange green space and the world around them. "Alright then… Let's put this to the test!"

When his attack proved useless against Ophanimon's defense, Mephismon jumped high in the air and extended both hands, "Dark Cloud!"

Seraphimon looked up and raised a finger in the direction of the Deadmon, black, stormy clouds starting to gather at the top of his head, "Rising Halo!"

A thunderbolt fell down on Mephismon, making him howl in pain and cancelling the smoke coming their way, dissipating in the air. The Deadmon plumbed to the floor, arcs of electricity cracking around his body.

"W-What is this power?!" Mephismon questioned as he struggled to get up.

"Mephismon," Ophanimon spoke, pointing the tip of her spear to him. "You and your kin have brought suffering to our world all because of your selfish desires. And for that you shall be judged."

"Fighting for the sake of my world is selfish, how is that different from what you're doing?!" Mephismon demanded to know as he glared at the two Megas.

"That we don't attack the innocent to keep it safe," Seraphimon responded as he cupped his hands at the side, "Seven Heavens!"

Seven spheres of heated light shot out from his palms, aiming straight to the Deadmon. Mephismon avoided the attack by merging with his shadow and like a snake, it started to slither away to escape them.

"We won't allow you to get away!" Seraphimon said as he flew towards the shadow, accompanied by Ophanimon.

They floated over the shadow and that's when Ophanimon clenched her fists around her spear and out of instinct a white energy expelled from her body, making her gasp in surprise. "T-This is…"

From within her core, Kari looked down at her hands. "I thought that you, I mean that I…"

"So this is what it feels like?!" Gatomon asked, her voice echoing around Kari. "It's amazing!"

Kari clenched her fist as she looked at the spear on Ophanimon's hand. She sighed and knew what to do.

The energy spiked around the spear, shrouding it and making Seraphimon do a double take as he stared at her with awe, T.K's eyes growing wide in the core of the Mega Digimon. "That is…!"

"Eden's Javelin!" Ophanimon thrust her weapon down to the floor, impacting just where the shadow was slithering around.

The result was devastating, a giant crater formed from the impact, spider cracks forming along the street. Mephismon jumped out of the shadow, a gaping wound on his shoulder and a black liquid coming out from it like blood.

"I-Impossible… these being shouldn't be able to use that power!" He growled. His eyes widened as the dots connected. "No way… Child of Light?!"

"Eyes up here!" Mephismon turned to see Seraphimon floating behind him with his hands cupped to the side, "Seven Heavens!"

"Dark Cloud!" Desperately Mephismon raised his uninjured arm and released his attack. The spheres got absorbed by the smoke, and to the Deadmon's relief they were destroyed inside of it.

"Sephirot Crystals!"

Mephismon's eyes widened in pain as seven beautiful crystals organized on a geometrical form impacted against his back, exploding upon contact and burning away his back, causing his body to slowly being reduced to dust.

'Lord Dagomon… Forgive me… I failed…' He thought, as his body got erased from existence, 'But I know… You have watched over me… Now you know the power of the Child of Light and her allies… I hope my leader Daemon… Triumphs in my place…'

Mephismon vanished like his kin, on the form of mots of dust that flew into the air.

Seraphimon and Ophanimon looked up at their disappearing opponent, feeling relief that such a hard opponent has disappeared.

Seraphimon looked down at his hands as he clenched and unclenched his fists. "I never expect the Mega level to be this powerful… and more so with this…" He said, letting the energy shroud him.

"This isn't over yet," Ophanimon said, looking at a certain direction. "Killua and the others must still be facing Hisoka…"

"With this forms, we should be able to face him," Seraphimon told her with a nod as the two started floating. "And it might be me being hopeful, but along the others… we could even defeat him."

Feeling confident with their newfound power, both angels soared the sky to aid their friends on their struggle.

Killua skidded across the floor, before finally collapsing on his knees, panting heavily. Godspeed gone, electricity drained out, and her face full of bruises and cuts, his face having blood running down his temple and his nose.

Hisoka while looking better also looked affected by the fight. His face had bruises and blood fell from a busted lip, a one of his eyes was slightly swollen. But otherwise he was still standing, and with his aura back to normal, without the electricity he didn't need to keep Bungee Gum coating his body.

The man was grinning, feeling satisfied with the progress of the boy. He hadn't tested Killua before, but now a sweet, sweet flavor covered his mouth. He turned around, while making sure to keep feeling the boy, he knew better than to underestimate a Zoldyck.

"G-Get… back here…" Killua said as he struggled to stay on his feet.

"Killua dear, I still have a mission to fulfill, if Mephismon hadn't done his part then… I'll have to confirm for myself that the job is done," He said, waving his hand at him.

Killua gritted his teeth. This must be what Gon felt with the whole badge affair, having to watch Hisoka walk away while he could barely do anything to stop him. His body hurt, he could barely held his Ten in place.

Hisoka suddenly stopped his walk as he looked up, his sharp senses picking on something coming his way.

"Seven Heaves!"

"Sephiroth Crystals!"

Fourteen missiles fell from the sky in his direction, the jester leaped back to dodge them. Both him and Killua looked up to see the ones responsible for them, a pair of armored figures with golden wings on their backs, one male and one female.

Ophanimon looked down at Hisoka and then her eyes scanned the streets until they finally spotted the boy kneeling on the floor, "Killua!"

She floated down in front of the boy, all under the careful watch of Hisoka. His attention getting caught when the male angel dived down on him with his fist reared back, a familiar energy shrouding his fist.

'Nen?!' Hisoka leaped back to dodge, his eyes narrowing at this turn of events, 'A Digimon capable of using Nen? Who are they?' He looked back to the angel with Killua. 'That one resembles the girl's partner… and if I'm not mistaken there was a male angel last time I fought them, he could have arrived to aid the girl and her partner like the wolf arrived to aid Killua.'

As Seraphimon attacked Hisoka and he dodged to assess the situation, Ophanimon flew up to Killua. She kneeled in front of him and from the frown on her mouth the worry was clear, "Killua, are you okay?"

Killua blinked as he stared at her, his mind going to the logical conclusion, "Gatomon?"

Ophanimon smiled and giggled, something about that giggle being familiar to Killua, "Something like that… It's a long story. Where are VictoryGreymon and ZeedGarurumon?"

Killua sighed and looked back, Ophanimon followed his sight and bit her lip when she saw them: Tsunomon was lying on the road, bruised all over, while Koromon was unconscious inside of a building.

"Gatomon, is Kari safe?" Killua asked, referring to her as he best knew her.

"Call me Ophanimon," The angel said, "And well… I'm right here."

Killua blinked again. "Wha…? Kari?" He looked behind her back to see the angel fighting Hisoka, "Patamon… T.K?"

"We'll explain later, but for now we have to finish with this…" Ophanimon said rising her hands, "Eden's Air."

Her wings emanated a soothing aura that washed over Killua, his cuts and bruises disappearing rapidly, and he could even feel all his energy coming back to him, "This is… amazing."

Ophanimon giggled. "Less tiring that my Specialist Ability."

Hisoka frowned as he watched that happen. 'Not good. I'm not at my full, and if she restores those others two to full health then my chances will become really low. It's not a fight worth fighting if I'm not capable of giving my all…"

"Seven Heavens!" Seraphimon shot his attack, this time being too close to comfort and the explosion sending Hisoka back.

'Such a shame… This could be an interesting event. To test myself against four Megas, it would be like fighting all the Dark Masters at once… But if I live to fight another day then that chance will come,' He flipped the air and landed on the sideway, 'One more time, for sentimental sake!'

He slammed his fists with Ko on the floor and lifted a cloud of smoke, everyone's attention got caught as they turned to see what happened. Seraphimon grunted and raised a hand, "Rising Halo!"

A thunderbolt fell from the sky, impacting against the cloud of smoke, the resulting shock dissipating the cloud only to show no sight of Hisoka in it.

"What?!" Seraphimon flew over, searching through the streets, trying to find any trace of the clown. He clenched his fists as he scanned every street. "He must be using Zetsu to hide, damn!"

"He got away…" Killua growled out, before sighing. "Maybe it's for the best… You dealt with the other guy right, the Deadmon?

Ophanimon nodded. "Yes, yes we did, and with Hisoka gone and the tower down… There's more for us to do here."

Seraphimon floated beside Tsunomon to gently pick him up. "Then let's go find my brother and Tai. There is a lot to explain, isn't it?"

Killua snorted. "You say it… Not me."

Hisoka sneaked across the streets until his eyes caught sight of a familiar car. He let out a sigh as he dropped his Zetsu and walked calmly to the car, and was surprised to see Maki inside. Her body slumped forward and her head on the steering wheel.

He tapped the window to the passenger door, and Maki turned slowly to look at him with a half-eyed look. "Oh, you're back… did you get the girl?"

"Not yet sadly…" Hisoka said with a sigh as Maki unlocked the door and climbed into the car. "And did you got one of the children's brand new Digivices?"

"…No," She said simply as she turned on the car. "And no, I do not want to explain why, or about what happened."

Hisoka just raised his hands in mock defeat. "Alright, alright I won't ask."

Maki drove the two of them back to Oikawa's place, all the while her grip on the wheel so tight that her knuckles turned white and her teeth gnashing on her bottom lip.

'I had to… and I couldn't… Damn it all to hell!' She thought as she felt her stomach revolting.

But she's already emptied everything for a while now.

Ophanimon carried Killua on her back, while keeping a still sleeping Koromon on her hand, while Seraphimon carried a sleeping Tsunomon, all of them heading to the building where the partners of the unconscious Digimon stayed during this whole altercation.

"Right there, it was that one," Killua pointed at one rooftop, and from afar they could already see two figures there.

Yet as they grew closer, they noticed immediately picked that something was wrong. Tai and Matt were there sure, but the situation wasn't an ideal one. From behind her helmet, the eyes of Ophanimon widened and at her core Kari gasped in fright, "Tai!"

"What the hell happened?!" Killua asked as they grew close to them.

Matt turned to look at him a range of emotions ran across his face upon seeing them. First panic, then relief, then confusion, then finally acceptance, if reluctant, "Killua, we need help!"

And help indeed they needed, for Tai was slumped on the floor, holding on his arm which was bleeding from what Killua could see was a bullet wound.

They all landed around them, Killua climbing down Ophanimon's back, "What happened?!"

Matt scowled, "It's all because of that woman, and before you ask no… it wasn't Arukenimon."

Earlier, when Matt and Tai took turns to observe the fight with the latter's telescope, the door that lead to the roof was kicked open.

"Don't move you two!"

Both teens turned and tensed, instinctively raising their hands. A woman with brown hair that covered half of her face was aiming at them with a gun. Sweat immediately running down their faces despite the cold weather.

"Who are you…?" Tai asked slowly, trying to keep his voice from wavering.

"That's irrelevant right now. You two are Digidestined, and I need something for you. Give me your Digivices," The woman demanded, extending her hands.

"Our Digivices…" Matt muttered. "Are you working with Arukenimon?!"

"Silence!" The woman said, taking a shot right at their feet making the boys flinch. "There's no need to get hurt, just hand them over."

Both boys felt completely cornered. The woman's hand kept a firm hand on the gun, she seemed completely serious yet not malicious like Hisoka or Arukenimon, if she truly wanted them dead she would have shot them on the head already.

Tai gulped and spoke, "Why do you want our Digivices?"

"That is not your concern," The woman said, walking forward. "Hand them over, now."

"Are you with Hisoka or…" Another shot, Tai took a step back.

"Tai!" Matt called in worry and a slight hint of fear.

"One last chance," She said, leveling her gun. "Hand me your Digivices."

Tai trembled; he won't deny that he was scared because he was. Without Agumon or their friends around to help, plus there was the fact that they were being assaulted by a human, one that seemed as normal as them and not a freaky thing like Arukenimon or Hisoka. And for that same reason he thought he could talk to her.

"Listen… I don't know how you know about us… But we can't just hand you our Digivices," He walked forward as he spoke. "If you're working with the creatures attacking us then we can't hand them over but… if you explain then maybe we can get to know each other."

Tai walked forward and the woman's eyes widened for a moment, and her finger slipped on the trigger.

"TAI!" Matt yelled as his friend collapsed and blood erupted from his shoulder.

Tai gritted his teeth in pain before screaming in pain as he held his shoulder, whimpering and groaning as he clutched his wound. Matt didn't doubted twice in rushing to the side and applying pressure to the wound, "Hang in there man! It's okay!" He knew it was not, but what else could he say in this case.

He turned to glare at the woman but she had fled the scene, running down the stairs and inside the building. Matt scowled, he wanted to chase after her… but his friend was priority.

Maki's hand shook on the steering wheel, Hisoka had apparently fall asleep on the passenger's seat, but with him she could never tell.

'Back then… That boy… he reminded me too much of Daigo… Must've been those stupid goggles…' She shook her head. 'I let my finger slip when the similarity struck me. I could have taken his Digivice when he fell but… I ran… I couldn't do it.'

She stopped the car and pressed her forehead against the wheel, tears of anger and frustration on her eyes, "Fuck! … Tapirmon…"

Hisoka cracked one eye open before closing it again, 'It seems you're softer than I thought, Maki.'

Tai let out a muffled yell from the scarf stuffed in his mouth as Killua dug his nails into the wound, Ophanimon gripping his hand, the last sight being a bit surreal for Matt.

"Got it!" Killua exclaimed as he pulled his claws out of the wound, a piece of metal on his hands. He turned to the angel and nodded, "Ophanimon."

"Eden's Air!" She released a soothing wave from her wings that bathed the teen.

Tai spat the scarf and sighed in relief as the wound close and even the stain and tear on his clothes vanished. He opened his eyes, mind now clear from the pain and stared at the angel, his brow furrowed, "Gatomon? Where's Kari?"

"Well…" She said with a giggle.

Seraphimon turned to them. "I think it's time to explain something."

Their bodies glowed and split apart. Kari and T.K standing where the Mega Digimon once stood, and in their hands…

"Poyomon?!" T.K and Matt gasped seeing the Baby Digimon.

"I… Think that forms takes a lot from us…" Poyomon said in a high pitched voice. "At least I'm not a complete baby like back then…"

Kari looked down at the Digimon in her hands. "You are…?"

"Nyaramon, Gatomon's In-Training form," The yellow fur ball with a tail explained. "Being used to being a Champion, I think it drained me less…"

"I see, I guess that does make…" Kari said, before her words came out more slowly as she wobbled in place.

"Kari!" Tai called as he sat up, Killua moved faster and caught her as she fell.

"T.K!" Matt called as he caught his younger brother, "What happened?!"

Killua looked between the two before sighing. "It's okay, they just seem to be exhausted. That form must drain them the same way new evolutions drains the Digimon."

As if to prove his point, both Poyomon and Nyaramon started to snore loudly.

That brought a rest to both elder brothers' worries. "I see," Matt sighed, his eyes also landing on his unconscious partner. "I don't think we should go back to Izzy's place right now."

"It's going to be a bit of a nightmare to explain everything to mom and dad…" Tai said as Killua hand him Kari for him to carry.

"I'll tell the others that we'll go back to our places," Killua told them, taking out his D-Terminal. "And to gather up tomorrow," He looked at his two sleeping friends with a thoughtful look. "I have a hunch about what this new evolution is about but… better to hear it from the ones who experienced it."

Matt and Tai nodded as they hoisted their siblings on their backs, while Killua carried the unconscious Baby and In-Trainings.

As far as the day was concerned, the battle on Hikarigaoka was over.

Just as he expected, when he arrived with an unconscious Kari on his back after a citywide invasion of the likes never seen since five years ago, his parents were understandably upset over the whole situation. Killua had left the explaining to him as he decided to enter the house through the balcony, he didn't know if he should be mad at him or side with him since he agreed that his partner would listen to him more.

"So, like five years ago…?" His mom asked in a hoarse voice as she leaned into her husband.

"It is similar, yes," Tai nodded, cupping his hands together. "All of us went to the affected areas to take down those towers."

As his mother shake, which prompted him to gulp down with a sense of guilt, his father turned to him with a patient look, "Tai, I know I wasn't that involved with what happened five years ago but is there no other way to deal with this creatures. Does it have to be you and your friends?"

Tai sighed and nodded. "Yes, from what I've seen in the news not even the army can take down those towers."

His parents looked at each other, Yuuko wiped her tear stained eyes and she nodded, his father turned to him with a wobbly smile. "Then I guess we'll leave it in your hands."

"Huh?" Tai looked at them in surprise.

"You two along with your friends did something amazing five years ago," his mom said softly. "Some towers shouldn't take that much right?"

"And you are a good brother; I know that you won't let anything happen to Kari," His father said.

They all got up and both adults embraced their son. Tai felt a weigh lift from his shoulders at this. "Thanks you guys…"

After the embrace they left to their respective rooms, Tai sighed as he closed the door behind him; glad that everything worked out with them in the end.

Koromon was still sleeping on his bed; he caressed his head as he sat down next to him with a smile. His partner was a great trooper and deserved a whole lot of rest for the night.

He looked at the balcony and saw Killua sitting in the railings, staring down at the street. He walked out and called his attention, "Hey."

"Hey…" Killua said, not looking up.

Tai looked at the other door in the balcony and saw Kari sleeping still on the clothes she has been wearing all day, cuddling with a snoring Nyaramon. The sight brought a smile to his face, "I'm glad she's okay. She has become really strong thanks to you, you know."

"Right…"

Tai frowned, expecting a more vivid answer from him. "Is everything okay?"

Killua continued to stare down at the floor meters beneath him, lost in thought. He sighed and looked up to Tai, "Hisoka just said something… regarding my world."

"He did… what was it?"

Killua clenched and unclenched his fists before speaking. "He said that… he killed somebody I knew. I don't believe a word from his mouth, but… if it's true then how can I know?!" He asked, his tone coming out with an edge.

He sighed and rubbed his head, "Sorry…"

"It's okay…" Tai said, looking at him worriedly.

"The truth is that… I want to go home already Tai!" Killua said. "I want to go home and be back with Alluka, and Nanika and… prove that the shit Hisoka said is just a lie! I know it sounds selfish but… In my world it's been a month at the least, a month were my sister, who depends on me as her only family, has been on her own with my family on our heels," He rubbed his face. "I want everything to be over… I want to go home…"

Tai stared as his friend poured out what he felt on him, remembering something similar to five years ago. The stakes were basically the same, his sister on one hand and someone important to Killua on the other.

"And if you do find a way back?" Tai asked, "Right here and right now?"

Killua looked at him and sighed. "I would take it. At least to see the Alluka is okay… but there's nothing like that yet so I can only continue to do what I've done up until now."

Tai exhaled, not blaming his friend for thinking like that. Not going to make the same mistake he almost made five years ago. "I'm sorry…"

"It's not your fault…" He snorted, out of the sudden. "I'm definitely going to give Nanika and Alluka the grounding of their lives when I go back."

"Sisters do seem to give us a bit of problem to us, huh?" Tai asked with a cheeky grin. "But… it's worth it in the end," Tai turned and went back to the room, "Good night, Killua."

"Night…" He said as he stayed on the railing for a while

He looked down again, sighing for the umpteenth time. 'This needs to be over soon. Alluka, Nanika, Gon… Gotoh…"

Hisoka's arms got wrapped in bandages, and he used his Texture surprise to hide the burn marks left from his fight.

"So the girl got away, huh. Shame…" Oikawa said as he sipped on his tea. "And they also got a new form of Digievolution."

"You don't seem that upset about it," Hisoka commented.

"And you don't seem upset that your fight got interrupted," Oikawa fired back, smirking at him.

"I would have liked to stay and play, but it is not fun if I'm tired," Hisoka explained, stretching his arms. "And you're not concerned because?"

"Oh nothing, I just have a new plan in concoction. The panic from today's attacks serving me greatly," He explained as he sipped from his tea.

Outside, a large truck was stationed. And inside various whimpers and muffled sobs could be heard…

"Mephismon has failed…"

Inside his massive throne, Dagomon looked down at his servants, all of them keeping their heads bowed in the presence of the king.

"But he has served his purpose. I've seen through his eyes, the Child of Light has grown stronger, her allies as well. But so will you…" As he spoke he raised his hand, tentacles in the place of fingers were sent flying towards four of his followers, stabbing them with it and yet they didn't utter a sound of pain. His tentacles bulged and pumped, filling the bodies of those four creatures. "With this part of my power, you should be able to contest against her power. Make sure Hisoka Morrow fulfills his part in dealing with the Anomaly, and accomplish my will: Bring the Child of Light alive to me, even if you have to cut off her limbs, as long as her heart continues to beat, and destroy the Digidestined so no one interferes. You have been created for the sole purpose of this task; prove that your existence wasn't a waste of effort. Understood?"

From beneath a red hood, red eyes glowed with fanaticism in them, action mimicked by three, taller figures standing behind them. All of them spoke like one, their objective clear.

"YES, LORD DAGOMON!"
