Zero Fullbuster: I'm back!

Candlite (Wickerstein): I know. Digimon has a serious issue with power creeps (MEGIDRAMON X SAYS HI!)

Freedom89justice: I actually did it… wow. Time to see if your speculations pay off!

The street was filled with a tense silence as the two groups stared down at one another. The devil and the jester stood at the top of the truck filled with their hostages, looking down at their opponents despite the clear difference in size, while the Digidestined glared at them with gazes filled with a mix of emotions: Anger, determination, resolve, and yet there was also fear for they know what these two individuals were capable of. And so, they knew that they had to go with everything they got if they want to save their friends and repel the invaders on their world.

The silence was broken when the doors of the truck opened and Oikawa climbed out from it and closing the door behind him, an easygoing smile on his face as he looked at the Digidestined gathered in front of him. "Oh my, what a conundrum."

Ken's eyes narrowed when he saw him. "Yukio Oikawa…" The name was uttered with poison oozing from his voice.

"Give me my sister back you creep!" Tai demanded them as he stood forward, despite the presence of the two beings superior in strength in front of him.

"No," Daemon said simply. "The Child of Light has a purpose to fulfill for my master's will. You Digidestined, and specially you Anomaly, have stand in its way to becoming a reality. Tonight, its your last day on this world."

Hisoka leaped from the truck and walked forward while stretching his arms. "It seems there was no other way in the end, huh?" The clown questioned, his eyes zeroing on Killua. "I am really sorry it had to come to this, Killua dear."

"No, no you are not," The boy replied coldly. Settling his Ren so it would become Ken.

Oikawa turned to Daemon with a lazy look on his eyes. "We'll take the girl and the children away, so when you're ready you can continue on with your mission."

Daemon gave him a side-glance of acknowledgement before nodding slowly. "Alright. I believe that you know better than to betray us."

"I'll take that as a compliment," Oikawa said as he walked to the front of the truck and climbed into the co-pilot's seat. "See you later then."

"No!" Salamon growled out, her whole body glowing again.

"Salamon Digivolves to… Gatomon!"

"Kari!" Tai called after his sister as the truck got started up again, his Digivice glowing.

"MetalGreymon Mega Digivolves to… VictoryGreymon!"

Both the Mega and the Champion jumped over their enemies, high into the air and towards the truck. Not intending on letting their friend and partner to be taken away when they were so close to getting her back, however their opponents had other plans for them.

Moving faster, Hisoka jumped and threw a punch to VictoryGreymon that the dragon barely had time to block with the flat of his sword. The strength behind the attack still being enough to sent him flying towards an overpass, he broke through the walls and landed on its floor.

Gatomon had it even worse, as Daemon flew over and caught her by the throat. His eyes glistening with anger and malice he dived and slammed her hard into the pavement. "GAH!"

"Next to the Anomaly, you are the one who has given us the most problems in acquiring the child!" He told her as he prepared his free claw to attack.

However, a fist coated in electricity smacked him across the face and got him off the cat Digimon. Daemon bounced on the street once, before flipping over and extending his wings to cancel the momentum.

Killua stood over the coughing Gatomon, the aura of Godspeed dispelling from him. "Are you okay?"

She hacked and coughed. "Sorry, as I am right now, I'm not of much help…" She lamented.

"Don't sweat it!" Davis said as he and Wingdramon flanked her to the right, with Ken and JewelBeemon doing the same to the left. "That's why we're here!"

"Leave it to us for now," Ken said. "The others will notice that Kari is still moving and will go after her, and when they rescue her, you can join us."

Gatomon sighed, but nodded in understanding. "Thanks guys."

VictoryGreymon recovered and got down from the overpass, shaking his body off the debris. ZeedGarurumon joined at his side, giving him a glance. "Are you okay, VictoryGreymon?"

"Yeah," VictoryGreymon responded, glaring at Hisoka who moved to stand next to Daemon again. "But that guy is as strong as last time…"

Matt and Tai moved away, knowing that they could get in the way for the younger kids and Killua if they stood nearby. "This doesn't look good…" Matt commented.

Tai nodded in agreement, still feeling frustrated over the fact that his sister was still in enemy grasp. He looked at the scene and knew that those two enemies against the group was not on their favor despite the number advantage. Hisoka was too strong, and Daemon maybe just as much. The others were coming here soon, so that will give them another advantage but for now…

"We have to lure Hisoka away," Tai said. "VictoryGreymon and ZeedGarurumon know how strong he is, they can stall him while the others arrive to help. Let's just hope that Daemon is at least a bit weaker than him."

Matt clicked his teeth. "Yeah, I see your point," He smiled down at his friend and nodded. "Let's do it."

Tai nodded back and the two got out of their hiding spot, the brunette cupped his hands together and yelled out to his partner, "VictoryGreymon, c'mon! Over here, we have to move away!"

"You too, ZeedGarurumon!" Matt said, gesturing to his partner too.

The two Megas turned to their partners with questioning looks, "Tai?" VictoryGreymon sounded out.

"Matt, what are you…?" ZeedGarurumon muttered.

"Catch us if you can, Hisoka!" Tai said with a mocking voice.

The jester raised an eyebrow at the boys while Daemon's eyes narrowed dangerously.

The other Digidestined and the Digimon were also confused by their friends' strange behavior. "What's up with those two?" Davis asked.

Killua watched them and it clicked in his head what they were trying to do. "I see!" He turned to the Megas and yelled at them, "Go do as they say! Hurry!"

The two Megas exchanged looks before shrugging. Their friends must have something in mind if they're doing this. They flew towards their partners and swoop them away, with Tai adding another yell of. "Come after us, Hisoka!"

Daemon scoffed. "It is clearly a trick to separate us, they must be desperate."

"Maybe…" Hisoka said with a bored look in his eyes, before a smirk appeared on his face. "But I can't say I'm not curious."

"Morrow!" Daemon hissed.

"Don't worry…" Hisoka said focusing Nen on his feet. "I'll be back soon, and I know you are more than capable of dealing with them while I'm gone~."

He propelled himself up in the air and threw a thread of Bungee Gum at the one of the solid parts of the overpass where VictoryGreymon crashed and used it to thrust himself forward and give chase to the two Megas.

Daemon clenched his fists in anger. "That fool! How could our lord summon someone as incompetent as him?!"

'Matt… Tai… Good luck,' Killua wished for his friends as he stared at Daemon. "Hey! Worry about him later, you have other problems right now!"

"Problems?" Daemon questioned, black flames surrounding his fists. "Since when little insects like you a problem!?"

With that he charged, and the Champion, two Ultimates and three Nen users were ready to meet him head on.

Oikawa had a smile of satisfaction on his face as they drove away from the fight scene. He was quite confident on the strength of their allies, the Digidestined in one way or the other would be out of his hair soon and then he could complete his plans.

"Oi, we got a problem," Maki's voice interrupted his joyous thoughts, making him grunt and turned to the superfluous woman.

"What is it?" He asked with clear annoyance in his voice.

The woman didn't answer, instead pointing forward. Oikawa turned to look and his eyes widened at what he saw while a single sound left his mouth, "Oh."

A group of three Digimon, that if he wasn't mistaken were Phoenixmon, Rosemon and Hippogryphmon, were heading their way. Their riders three girls that were glaring at the truck, knowing exactly what it contained. Or rather whom it contained.

"Shit," He clicked his teeth. "Not dealing with this right now, turn left now!"

Maki didn't have to be told twice, she swiveled the truck and got over the other side of the road, taking advantage of the empty street, to avoid the giant bird, and the plant lady. Yet from the rear mirror she could see them giving chase to them.

Oikawa took a deep breath as he stuck his head out to see their pursuers weren't giving up an inch. "Seems they're not giving up on this…" He stuck his head back into the car and slumped. "I say we give them what we want."

"The girl and the kids?" Maki questioned as she took another sharp turn that Oikawa was sure would have costed her license if there were cops nearby. "Wouldn't that make the already angry-looking demon even angrier?!"

Oikawa rolled his eyes at her worries. "His objective is to take Kari to his home," he smiled and shrugged. "Knowing these little kids once their friend is free, they are going to go on their way to help their other friends, basically walking right into Daemon's waiting hands."

He opened the glove compartment a pulled out some cylindrical objects from them. Maki's eyes widened and she let out a short gasp. "Are those…?"

"Smoke bombs?" He asked with a smirk. "Of my own invention, never left home without them."

He pulled the pin and threw it up in the air out of the window. It did its wonders as they got completely shrouded by the smoke, hiding them from view from their pursuers.

"When you see an alley, park us there and I'll find us a safe place to hide…" Oikawa told her.

Maki gripped the steer wheel tightly and when she saw something from the corner of her eye, she made sure to turn and did as she was told. They parked in an empty alley with three garbage containers, and once Maki laid eyes on them, she turned to Oikawa with eyes filled with dread.

"Oh no…"

"Oh yes," He replied with a shrug and a small smile. Taking out a laptop from the glove container as well.

"There it is!" Yolei said as she pointed down to the truck they've been chasing, after they lost sight of it with that cloud of smoke.

The Digimon all landed at the entrance of the alleyway where it was parked and the girls climbed down from their backs, or in Mimi's case from her partner's arms. Yolei lead the way to the truck, staying anxious as she didn't know who or what they will be facing. None of them saw Daemon on the truck, but Hisoka could be there as well as Arukenimon and the so-called Yukio Oikawa.

She walked to the doors of the truck and gripped the handles, and with one last gulp she pulled them open. "Aha!"

She closed her eyes at that moment and slowly opened them to see what was inside. She gasped as she saw that inside were only the kidnapped children and her friend.

"MMOEI!" Kari called her out in a muffled voice, due to a white rag pressed between her lips gagging her.

"Kari!" Yolei dashed towards her friend and embraced her in a hug. "Thank goodness you're okay! Let me take this thing off you."

She removed the gag from her mouth, making Kari let out a gasp of relief. "Thank you…"

"What happened? Where are the baddies?" She asked, just as Kari tugged hard at her biddings breaking them easily.

She caressed her wrists with an uncertain look. "I-I don't know… Arukenimon suddenly left, but threaten me saying that if I tried to escape, she would hurt the children…" She turned to look at the kids who were looking at Yolei with apprehension, not knowing what to make of her.

Yolei nods and turns to the door. "Mimi, Sora! Is safe!"

Both girls entered the truck and their faces lit up in happiness at seeing Kari and like Yolei, they rushed to her to embrace her. "Kari!"

"Thank God, you're okay!"

Kari smiled and her eyes became foggy at being basked in the warmth of her friends' relief, and her own feeling of relief overflowing her as she returned the hug. "Thank you for coming…" She whispered.

They broke from the embrace and the older girls turned to the other children. "Yolei, take Kari out from here, we'll look after the kids," Sora told her.

Not needing to be told twice, Yolei lead her friend out from the truck, while also checking her Digivice. "How strange… The signal from the other Digivice is gone. That Oikawa guy must have gone really far for us to reach him."

Kari frowned as she mentioned the name of their enemy. "Oikawa… That man was just… awful. He reminded me of the enemies we faced five years ago," she shivered as she remembered her experiences with them, specially Myotismon.

Yolei gave her friend a concerned look and some comforting pats in the back, before her eyes widened. "By the way, Kari. Do you know where Ken and the others are? They were the ones chasing after you while we… We fought against some other enemies in the way."

Kari blinked at her sudden downcast mood as she mentioned their enemies before her eyes widened. "Killua and my brother. They're all fighting Daemon and Hisoka right now!"

"HUH?!" Yolei did a double take at that. "For real! Oh man, this is big… and bad news! We have to go and help them!"

"You guys go!" Sora said from inside the truck, with Mimi having her phone. "We're going to look after the kids, Phoenixmon please go with them!"

"You too, Rosemon. I'm already calling the police so the kids can go home!" Mimi said, blocking her phone's speaker to talk with her partner.

"Right!" Both Megas nodded, completely agreeing with their partners.

"I'll tell the others that they head where Davis' and Ken's signals are, and tell them you are already safe!" Yolei said, taking out her terminal as she and Kari climbed Hippogryphmon's back.

The three Digimon took off, using the Digivice as usual to guide them to where their friends were awaiting them. However, Yolei had a troubled face as she looked ahead.

"That Daemon is stronger than our last enemy, right?" She asked to no one in particular, however Hippogryphmon answered.

"Yes, he probably is," Her partner said.

Her face scrunched and she sighed. "Then we'll have to eliminate him too, right?"

"'Too'?" Kari asked as she tried to have a better look at her friend. "Yolei, you…"

"It's okay!" Yolei said, turning to give her a kind of forced smile. "I know what we have to do! And that way to protect our world, right?!"

Kari looked at her with worry, before a soft smile appeared on her face and she nodded. "Right."

Determined. The two girls flew towards the biggest fight on this long day.

The terminal beeped with a message and Cody flipped it open. He read through it all and a smile blossomed on his face. "Kari is safe! Yolei, Mimi and Sora saved her and the kids!"

"Thank goodness," Seraphimon said. "Best news we've had all night."

Another beep, another message. Cody read through it and frowned. "But, Killua, Tai and everyone who was chasing the truck before we split are facing Daemon and Hisoka…"

Joe took out his Digivice with urgency at the news and saw how split the signals were, however he focused on the blue and black ones. "They are close to us, Yolei and Kari are heading their way. Wonder why Sora and Mimi were left behind thought."

"Probably to look for the other children," Izzy theorized. "And well, as we are not Nen users they probably thought they'd be in the way."

"Izzy…" Cody frowned a bit, hearing his superior said that.

"Hey, got to be realistic Cody, it's good to know your limits," Joe comforted with a smile.

Izzy nodded in agreement. "Indeed, in fact… HerakleKabuterimon, put us down here please."

"Sure thing," The giant beetle slowed down his flight and lowered to the side walk where Izzy and Joe climbed down from his back.

"We'll leave the rest to you," Joe said, giving them a reassuring smile. "I'm sure that you guys can take care of the rest."

"Yet we are counting on you to look after them, please," Izzy told their Mega level partners.

HerakleKabuterimon nodded. "Of course!"

"Leave the younglings to us!" Vikemon said, crossing his arms confidently.

Cody bowed to the two, understanding their feelings in wanting to stay out of the way during the fight. "We won't let you down."

"Soon every being of darkness, and anyone who wants to threaten our world will be gone by tonight," Seraphimon declared as he raised back up in the air. "Let's go!"

"Right behind you!" HerakleKabuterimon said as he hoisted Vikemon up on his arms.

The two older boys waved at them as they watched them go. "Good luck, and be safe you guys!"

All the Digimon, plus the Digidestined heading to the battle. In that moment, Vikemon turned to Seraphimon. "Say, err… Seraphimon," he said, unsure at first on how to refer to this new Digievolution. "In a scale, how strong are the guys we are going to face."

"If Daemon is stronger than all the enemies we've faced up until now and he is working with Hisoka, it put it next to the Dark Masters," The angel explained in a serious tone.

"Damn," HerakleKabuterimon whistled.

"All of us together, might stand a chance, but we really need to go all out," Seraphimon said. "Even against a human like Hisoka."

Cody took a shuddering breath in and then out. To protect the innocent, and to protect those precious to him like his family and friends… Maybe he'll have to cross that line too. "I… I understand."

With a foreboding silence, they all headed straight to the battlefield.

When Daemon charged the first to engage was Killua, he moved straight towards the incoming opponent and reared his fist back and focused the majority of his aura there. Their fist made contact and although Killua hissed at the heat of the flames, he stood his ground and glared at eyes of his opponent, who glared back at him with an ever-present anger on those red eyes.

From behind the demon's back, Davis and Ken made their move. Davis' leg was ignited and with a ball of Nen charged, while Ken had a pair of one-handed shotguns on each hand. They both unleashed their attacks at the back of his opponent, taking the chance of his attention being in Killua.

Sadly, Daemon's senses were sharp. As he blurred out of sight, forcing Killua to leap back to avoid his friends' attacks. Daemon had extended his wings and floated above them, holding up two hands and bringing black flames to life and aiming one at the Hunter and one at the two boys.

Yet from above him JewelBeemon appeared, thrusting his spear down towards his head. "Spike Buster!"

Daemon cancelled his attack in favor of using one hand to stop the spear and aim his free hand at the insectoid warrior, once again his black flames coming to life and ready to use a point-blank attack on him.

"Blaze Sonic Breath!"

A blue blur appeared in front of him and unleashed a blast straight into the demon's chest, sending him flying away a few feet away from the group, until his body impacted with the floor lifting a curtain of dust. Wingdramon standing in the same place where the Deadmon once stood, with flames licking at the corner of his muzzle.

"Are you okay, JewelBeemon?" Wingdramon asked as he looked up at his friend.

"Yes, thank you," JewelBeemon said with a nod as he lowered down to be at the dragon's level.

Below, the kids watched as the debris slowly dissipated. "Did we get him?" Davis asked with slight hope.

"Davis if it were that easy, we wouldn't be here," Gatomon said with a sigh of resignation.

"Too true…" Killua agreed with a deadpan, eyes narrowed as he stared ahead.

Just as expected, the dust cleared and Daemon walked forward with not a single scratch on him. He even had the audacity of dusting off his robes. "Worthless… All of your efforts amount to nothing if your attacks can't harm me."

"Crap… We could use some reinforcements right now…" Davis said, they couldn't land a single hit on the guy and the moment they did he just brushes it off!

Ken discarded the shotguns and brought out Sochi to bring out his next weapon. "We need to be able to hold him. Yolei and the rest should be arriving soon."

"Shit, I hope. For all we know they are still chasing after Kari and the other bad guys…" Killua said as he focused his electricity on his hands.

Daemon chuckled. "Are you done talking with one another? If so then let me begin my turn once again, and show you true despair!"

The devil unleashed a stream of flames towards the group, forcing them all to move aside to avoid the possible burns. However, this also made them disperse around the battlefield, which Daemon took to his advantage.

He moved and appeared above the two Ultimates, giving them a fire infused fist to their faces that sent them crashing down to the floor before vanishing from sight again, leaving both Digimon grunting in pain. "Ugh…"

When they saw what happened to their partners, Ken and Davis were on high alert, yet that didn't prepare the later for the devil to appear behind him and grab his arm to throw him over his shoulder and then kick him in the sides while he was down. "Gah!"

"Davis!" Ken called in worry for his friend.

This brief distraction costed him, as Daemon moved and struck his gut and then delivered a strong hammer fist to the back of his head. "Ack!"

Daemon chuckled as he stared down at his downed opponents, but moved out of the way when a kick barely missed his head. Killua glared at the monster that just attacked his friends and focused his electricity at the tip of his fingers.

"Narukami!" He released a lightning bolt with a furious snarl towards the Deadmon.

Daemon stuck his hands out and flames appeared in front of him, acting as a shield to block the lightning. And then pushed the flames forward to sent them towards the boy.

Killua acted fast, grabbed Ken and jumped out of the way of the flames. He regarded with friend with concern, but never taking his eyes off his opponent. "Are you okay?"

"Y-Yeah…" Ken muttered, as Killua set him down. Around them the rest of their friends started to get up with clear struggled.

Daemon laughed darkly and the flames around his hands grew in intensity. "I can feel it now, you are feeling despair."

None of them dignified that with an answer. They knew he had to be strong after their encounter with SkullSatamon, but this was on another level, maybe just as bad as their first encounter with BlackWargreymon. And at least back then he was going all out, here Daemon was clearly dragging this out to make them despair.

"Crimson Flare!"

"Heat Wave!"

"Thorn Shoot!"

Daemon turned to see various attack coming his way. He barely had time to erect a fire barrier to block them before they impacted. 'What is this?!'

The boys looked up and their faces brightened when they saw Phoenixmon, Rosemon and Hippogryphmon arriving in the battlefield. With Yolei waving from the back of her partner.

"Hey guys!" She greeted with cheer.

"Here comes the cavalry!" Davis pumped his fists in excitement.

"Just in time, Yolei!" Ken said with a smile.

Yolei grinned and gave them a peace sign before, leaning away. "And looky whom I found!"

Kari smiled at her friends, glad to see they were still okay after the truck left. "Everyone, sorry for worrying you."

"Kari!" Out of everyone, Gatomon was the happiest at seeing her partner safe and sound.

Killua felt a heavy weight leave his shoulders when his eyes landed on her, allowing him to smile with genuine happiness since this day started. 'Damn it is good to see that smile again…'

The cheer was short-lived however, as Daemon burst out from the cloud of smoke and headed towards a stunned Hippogryphmon and his riders while his mind raced with rage. 'That incompetent human! Letting the Child of Light go like that! I'll have her back in my grasp and go back home, using the despair of the Digidestined!'

"Seven Heavens!"

Daemon looked to the side and couldn't do much as seven balls of light slammed against his sides, sending him crashing towards a nearby building. "Ugh!"

"It seems we arrived right on time," Seraphimon said as he lowered his extended hands, with Gogmamon and Cody staring at their enemy while HerakleKabuterimon set Vikemon down.

"They're all here," Killua said with huge relief as he looked at his friends. "That's great…"

Ken and Davis stared at Seraphimon with amazement. "That's T.K, right?" Ken muttered as he looked at the angel.

"He also got the Matrix Evolution? Neat!" Davis said, any jealously over the form overshadowed by the advantage this presented for them.

Hippogryphmon set down and the moment Kari climbed out from her back, Gatomon leaped into her arms. "Kari!"

The girl clutched her close to her chest. "Gatomon!"

"Never do that again, you hear me!" The cat Digimon scolded, yet the relief was evident in her voice.

Kari nodded as she held her close. And her friends, all moved to surround her protectively. "Everyone, I'm sorry for worrying you."

"We'll scold you for that later, sure Tai has some things to say," Killua said, although the smile on his face didn't go away as he said that. It went away however as he looked at the momentarily stunned demon. "We do need to prepare our next move right now, though."

"Shouldn't that next move be: blast that bastard with all we got?" Vikemon asked as he brandished his flails.

"If only it was that easy…" Killua sighed and pointed in a certain direction, "Vikemon, Rosemon, Phoenixmon, HerakleKabuterimon. Tai and Matt left in that direction to deal with Hisoka, I want you guys to find and help them."

"Are you sure?" Rosemon said, as she looked at Daemon who was starting to move again. "That guy is dangerous."

"So is Hisoka!" Killua said. "And if he defeats them, then he'll come back here and it'll be even worse. Please, I'm counting on you."

"You're putting us on evidence here, but we'll trust you on this one," HerakleKabuterimon said, giving a thumbs up.

"Please be careful, we'll be back as soon as we can," Phoenixmon said, extending her wings.

The Megas moved to find the rest of their friends, leaving this battle in the hands of the younger children.

"Got to say, I'm not really looking forward to this," Gogmamon said, as he prepared for the battle.

"Ideally, I would have preferred the others to stay," Hippogryphmon said tensely. "But I understand the need to split our forces."

Cody summoned his shinai and took a deep breath to center his mind and prepare for what will have to be done. "We can do this, together."

Yolei focused and her Nen blades appeared on her hands. The memories of the last time she used them still fresh, but that wasn't going to deter her. "I just want tonight to be over, and that guy is on the way for it to happen!"

"Are you done?" The cold voice of Daemon called their attention, he was glaring at them all. "If so then let me tell you, even if the rest of your friends were here it wouldn't have changed a thing. Let me show you some real power."

He cupped his hands together, flames appeared in the middle of them yet this time they were orange instead of black. He thrusted his hands forward and unleashed a giant wall of fire, ready to engulf them. "Infernal Flame!"

While everyone gaped at the size of the flame, Gogmamon moved forward to try and absorb it. He held his crystals forward, yet when the fire made contact, he let out a howl of pain. "AAAAGH! SO HOT!"

"Gogmamon!" Cody called out to his partner in worry.

Gatomon and Kari exchanged looks and nodded, the girl raising her Digivice as it glowed. "Matrix Evolution!"

"Gatomon Digivolves to… Ophanimon!"

Ophanimon dashed forward until she stood next to Gogmamon. "Eden's Atmosphere!" A glow emanated from her body that took the form of a golden crux as big as the fire blast.

The crux pushed against the flames, giving Gogmamon the chance to step back and handle the absorbed energy on his crystals. Ophanimon pushed the crux so it would in turn push the flames back, cornering Daemon until he was forced to extinguish them.

Those who hadn't met Ophanimon marveled at the sight of her, specially Yolei for this was her first time in front of a Matrix Evolution. "K-K-Kari?!" Her eyes trailed off to Seraphimon. "Then that means… T.K?!"

"Explaining later, focusing on beating evil bad guy!" Davis told her, pointing to Daemon.

Seraphimon clenched his fists as his golden wings started to glow. "In case anyone's tired from their fights: Full Heal!"

Everyone was bathed by the light coming from the angel, feeling their energies coming back in a moment.

Davis clenched and unclenched his fists, before slamming them together. "Now this feels awesome!"

"Hehehe," Daemon chuckled as he walked forward. "Now it's time for me to get serious!"

His whole body got covered by a dark aura and in front of their eyes, Daemon's size started to grow. He wasn't as big as the surrounding buildings, but tall enough to tower over them.

He stared down at them with narrowed red eyes. "Now then, shall we begin?"

"Victory Charge!"

"Full Metal Breath!"

Despite their best efforts, Hisoka avoided with ease their attacks. He jumped over the blasts from the Full Metal Breath and leaned to the side to avoid the Victory Charge. The jester knew that such attacks could be effective on his Bungee Gum, so he had to play evasively right now. The moment the fiery aura left VictoryGreymon, he pointed a finger and connected a thread of his Hatsu to his back.

VictoryGreymon turned and his sword disassembled and he took aim as energy gathered at the tips. "Trident—"

Hisoka wouldn't give him the chance, contracting the Bungee Gum to propel himself to the dragon and aiming a drill kick to his chest. "Ugh!"

The two were sent crashing to the ground, with Hisoka using his opponent as a landing pad. The dragon grunted in pain, while Hisoka cancelled the thread connected to him.

"Zeed Canon!"

Hisoka jumped away as ZeedGarurumon fired various blasts of energy from his canon from the sky, forcing the clown to dance around the are to avoid the different blasts. He moved to the sideways and grabbed a light pole, connecting his gum with it before dodging another blast.

'My, what a bother,' Hisoka thought. 'I can't reach him while he is up there. But then again, I don't have to lay a finger on him for that to happen."

VictoryGreymon sat up again and join in the fray, he jumped over and tried going for an overhead swing. Hisoka smiled and his hand went to his pocket, to fish out some cards and sent them towards the uncovered body of the Digimon, embedding themselves on his shoulders and making him grunt in pain. "Urgh!"

Hisoka moved out of the way as VictoryGreymon landed in the floor, in pain. "What's wrong? It's already impressive you can still move after that."

"VictoryGreymon!" ZeedGarurumon called out for his friend, charging towards the two.

Hisoka smirked as he saw that, just as the wolf was getting closer, he jumped and did a summersault over his back, pressing a hand on it as he passed him by.

ZeedGarurumon turned to the injured dragon. "Are you okay?!"

"I was careless," Lamented the dragon as he ripped the cards out from his body. "But I can still fight."

Hisoka smirked as he heard this. "What an admirable effort you are putting, keep it up!" He complimented, giving a few claps.

ZeedGarurumon turned, clearly angered by his comment. "Don't you mock us! Zeed…"

Hisoka smirked as he saw him preparing his attack. 'Bungee Gum: Release.'

At that moment, the light post broke from the pavement and was dragged by the Bungee Gum towards the piece he connected on ZeedGarurumon's back when he summersaulted over him. The light post impacted the back of the Digimon, stunning him and making his attack to be fired off direction and half-baked.

Hisoka didn't wasted his chance and ran up to the two, nailing a raising king to the chin of the wolf and grabbing him by the throat to then throw him at VictoryGreymon who was forced to catch him, then he ran up to them and punched ZeedGarurumon's back with enough strength to sent the two flying towards a nearby building.

From one of the buildings' roof, Tai lowered his telescope and scowled in anger. "Damn it! That guy is too strong!"

Matt looked at his Digivice with impatient, noticing how some of the dots in them were far away, while those from the younger kids were already were they left Killua and the others, the relief of seeing the pink dot with them lost in the stress of their current situation. "C'mon, guys. What's taking so long?!"

As the two Digimon struggled to sat up, Hisoka regarded them with a taunting smile. "Is that all you have to offer? The previous fight was more entertaining in my opinion…" He took out some cards and brandished them like they were daggers.

His smile vanished and his yellow eyes glistened with malice. "If that's all you have to offer me, then I'm sorry to say this is as far as you go."

Despite the pain in his arm, VictoryGreymon brandished his sword and glared at the man. With ZeedGarurumon doing the same and starting to recollect energy on his canon.

This attitude made Hisoka smile. "Splendid~"

However, before any of the two factions could make a move.

"Crimson Flare!"

"Artic Blizzard!"

"Thorn Shoot!"

"Mega Electroshock!"

Hisoka's instincts kicked in and he jumped over to the side to avoid a barrage of different attacks coming his way. He smirked in surprise and intrigue when he saw other six Mega levels arrive, the same Mega levels he saw on that Christmas night. "Oh~?"

From the rooftop, Tai and Matt breathed more easily seeing their friends arriving. "Alright!" Tai said, pumping his fist.

The newly arrived Megas gathered around their friends, regarding them with concerned looks at seeing their wounds, specially VictoryGreymon's. "You guys holding up?" Vikemon asked.

"Barely," Rasped ZeedGarurumon.

"Don't even think of underestimating him," VictoryGreymon said. "And be careful if he touches you, his Hatsu is as tricky as him."

Rosemon cracked her whip. "Then we'll keep our distance, no close-range attacks."

Hisoka smirked at her words and craned his neck and arms. "Will it really be that simple, beautiful rose?" He chuckled. "Six Megas in one, none other than the slayers of the Dark Masters! Hmmm~ What an exciting challenge!"

He could feel his pants getting tighter by the second at the prospect of fighting them. He stuck his tongue out and lick his lips in anticipation, while his eyes glistened with desire. Please, please let them hold up to his expectations so he can reach a satisfying climax!

"… Guys, this dude freaks me out," HerakleKabuterimon admitted, all of them sharing the feeling as they looked at Hisoka's face.

The clown relaxed a bit and look up at them. "If we're not holding back then… don't mind if I do~"

He focused Nen on his feet and stomped hard to lift a cloud of dust. The Digimon all braced for what he could do while hiding, then something burst out from them: cards.

Phoenixmon took care of them, charging energy on her beak, "Crimson Flare!"

The cards, even coated with Nen to harden them, couldn't resist the heat of the phoenix, they turned to ashes in a moment and the flames charged towards the cloud of debris. It passed by it, clearing it and leaving the Digimon available to see what was there.

"W-What?! Where did he go?!" HerakleKabuterimon asked, with the rest of them gaping at the fact Hisoka was no longer in front of them.

Something moved from behind them and nailed a double hammered fist in the head of Phoenixmon, bringing her down to the ground. The others Digimon gasped, while Hisoka was momentarily in the air, just waiting for the gravity to do his thing.

When he lifted the cloud of debris, he launched his cards as a distraction. With this he put their attention on his weapons, while he used Zetsu to move back from the dust and ducking into one of the alleyways to move behind their backs and attack them by surprise.

"Why you!" Rosemon growled and launched her whip towards him, successfully wrapping it around his arms. "Gotcha!"

Hisoka smirked, coating the whip with his Bungee Gum, and pulled out another card from beneath the bracelet of his free hand and used it to cut the whip. And with the thread connected to what remained of it, he pulled himself towards Rosemon and focused Nen on his fist to deliver a powerful right hook to her face that crashed her against one of the buildings' walls. "AH!"

Hisoka landed and saw a bright light coming from above, HerakleKabuterimon aimed his attack straight at him. "Mega Electroshock!"

Hisoka dodged the attack by leaping back, but that gave Vikemon the change to move behind him and slam his flails at his side. Hisoka was sent bouncing down the street, he flipped over and dug his heels on the floor to stop his momentum.

"Zeed Canon!"

"Trident Gaia!"

Two blasts came from the front and from behind, all from his two main opponents. Hisoka jumped into the air, his eyes landing on a building where he pointed his finger to connect a piece of his Bungee Gum and with a tug, he flew towards that building. He planted his feet in the surface of the concrete and focus his Hatsu there to glue himself and stand vertically without problems. He idly noticed how blood fell from his temple, on the side where he was struck by Vikemon.

He tapped a finger on the blood, smearing it with it and then proceed to lick it. He felt a shiver run down his spine at this prospect. 'They actually managed to hurt me! Oh yes~ This is more exciting! Means I'll have to try harder!'

With him sitting still on the building, HerakleKabuterimon took that chance to fly towards him in an effort to catch him, but Hisoka focused Nen on the plant of his feet and released the Bungee Gum to propel himself over the head of the beetle and in the process connect a thread on his head. Once gravity took effect, Hisoka pulled himself up with the thread an when he was standing on top of his head, nailed a powerful punch of Nen that crashed the insect down.

He prepared another one for him while he was down, but was forced to dodge as a chain was swung his way. He landed on the floor, next to the beetle and Vikemon faced him while taking a deep breath. "Artic Blizzard!"

Hisoka ran to dodge it, running around his opponent as the freezing attack covered in ice anything it touched. He flicked his wrist and a remaining card slid from one of his bracelets, and he threw it at the giant Viking.

Vikemon had not problem freezing the incoming projectile, but that left him defenseless when Hisoka jumped over and slammed his fist into his face. Vikemon skidded backwards, before his weight played against him and made him slip, falling into his back.

Hisoka wasn't out of the fray yet, he looked up to see VictoryGreymon diving towards him with the tip of his sword aiming for his cranium. He moved out of the way, yet when VictoryGreymon landed he turned and aimed the tip of his sword at him, knowing what his plan was, acted fast and used a raising kick to move the sword away and deviate the attack.

"Zeed Canon!"

Yet from behind another attack came, making him jump over and dodge it. The blast struck the ground and lifted a curtain of smoke.

The experienced Hunter landed a few feet away from his opponents. The Megas were starting to recover after his attacks on them and gathered together.

"This guy… Is no joke…" Vikemon said, feeling like his head was going to explode from only one blow.

"We did told you so…" ZeedGarurumon grunted, glaring at Hisoka.

Hisoka for his part rubbed away the blood from his forehead and smiled at the Digimon with satisfaction. "Good! So good, you are doing a wondrous job!" He told them with a smile.

That smile soon turn on a more sinister edge as his aura flared around him. A dark purple color that reflected his twisted insides. "The warm-up is over. Are you ready?"

The Digimon tensed. If that was a warm-up, then what else could this guy do?

As Hisoka charged to start the fight again, they soon found out.

"Excalibur!"

"Eden's Javelin!"

In tandem, Seraphimon and Ophanimon thrusted their weapons towards the now jumbo-sized Daemon, who weaved and moved out of the way of their attacks. Hippogryphmon flew up and opened his beak to unleash a Heat Wave attack, from below Gogmamon aimed his crystals and unleashed a Cursed Reflection fueled by the demon's own fire, while JewelBeemon and Wingdramon moved to stab him in the back with their Spike Buster and Exploding Sonic Lance respectively.

Daemon's eyes flashed. He caught in both hands the weapons of the Megas, in a horrific sight his head turned ninety degrees and spat black fire towards the two lancers aiming for his back, forcing them to stop and move back to dodge. And from his lower side the same happened, black fire was shot from his feet and impacted against the beam from the Cursed Reflection, making an explosion. His head turned back to normal and he looked up and did the same against Hippogryphmon's attack, with the same results.

"Useless," He growled out between the smoke, as his hands lit up in black flames. "There is no use in avoiding the inevitable."

The flames on his hands detonated creating an explosion that pushed the two angels back. Despite this however, they weren't deterred in the slightest.

"Sephiroth Crystals!" Ophanimon launched her seven mystical crystals at the demon.

"Seven Heaves!" Seraphimon did the same, seven spheres of heated energy heading towards their enemy.

He held up his flaming hand and erected a wall of fire that blocked their attempts and with the other hand he formed a fireball that was sent towards the two.

Ophanimon held her hands up and the Eden's Atmosphere appeared, protecting them from the attack. Yet she couldn't help gritting her teeth at how futile their attacks have resulted up until now. "What does it take to harm him?!"

"He covers every angle, we just need one chance," Replied Seraphimon, just s he prepared his next attack. "Rising Halo!"

A lightning bolt was summoned forth from the sky and ready to impact against the demon, but Daemon raised his hands and unleashed a giant flame that impacted against it, nullifying each other in the process.

Down below, the Digidestined all looked at the fight. Standing on the sidelines, mostly due to the increased in size from their opponent, but also to think of a strategy that might actually help tip the balance in their favor.

And it all relied right now in one person.

Ken continued to draw, and write. His drawings somewhat crude, yet accurately detailed, while below he wrote a description for this new page ready to be used.

Davis bit his thumb as he observed the fight. "Damn this suspense is killing me!" He said, before turning to his leader. "Sparky, are you sure we can't do something right now?"

"Trust me, I get the feeling. But that guy is covering both close and long range with those flames," Killua said, glaring up at the big Deadmon. "This might be our best shot yet, and against someone like that we can't miss it."

"And if it does?" Ken asked, nervous sweat falling as he finished his drawing. "If this miss then I…"

"We won't hold it against you, Ken," Yolei comforted, putting a hand on his shoulder. "We'll think of something else!"

The boy took comfort on her words and exhaled. Another explosion took place, making them look up to see how Daemon had elevated himself in the air and blocked the attack from Wingdramon, who moved at blinding speeds trying to find some place to attack, yet his blazing breaths could very much be a tan session for the devil for all the effect is having in him.

"There!" Ken said, finally finishing the drawing and ripping the page. It slowly took the wished form: a bell full of twelve stun grenades.

Ken had to be very specific on the construct of the belt, the slots, and the number of bombs in them, as well to specify the constitution of said bombs. With all of that ready, it was time to be used.

All of the kids took hold of pins and pulled, and the Ken didn't wasted time in throwing it in the air. "EVERYONE, COVER YOUR EYES!"

The Digimon heard and did it without question, Daemon turned as he heard the scream. And that was a mistake for him, the bombs detonated, covering the entire block with a blinding light.

"AAAARGH!" Daemon roared in pain as his hands went to his eyes, even forcing himself to lower to the ground. "DAMN YOU, WHAT HAVE YOU DONE!?"

"Now everyone! Attack him!" Killua roared, Godspeed flaring around him.

Not needed to be told twice, both Digimon and Digidestined attacked at the Demon. Yolei and Cody leading the charge since they were both close-combat users, the girl slashed at one leg while the boy smashed his shinai in the other. The combined attacks and the effect of Cody's Hatsu bringing him to his knees.

Killua followed, charging forward and ramming a fist on the gut of the giant and then delivering fast blows accompanied by high-volt currents that left the demon in a stunned state.

Ken summoned his Calico gun and fired several bullets at the giant Deadmon, while Davis jumped into the air and unleashed several balls of Nen towards the monster.

From the sky, all Digimon unleashed their attacks with all their strength.

"Seven Heavens!"

"Sephiroth Crystals!"

"Blaze Sonic Breath!"

"Spike Buster!"

"Cursed Reflection!"

"Heat Wave!"

All the attacks from above rained down on him and an explosion took place. The Digidestined floated down and joined their friends, watching expectantly the cloud of dust.

"We attacked all together! That must have been it!" Yolei cheered.

However, her celebration would be cut short. A dark chuckle came from the cloud of dust and once it cleared a new figure stood in front of them. Gone was the red cloak, instead a demonic figure with red fur, purple withered wings, a hideous face with three, red eyes, a disproportioned left hand that was longer than the right and two horn sprouting from the temples was in front of them.

"Is that the level of your best attacks?" The demon asked.

"That's Daemon…?" Killua breathed out, realizing that this was what was hidden beneath the cloak.

"No way!" Davis exclaimed. "He took all of that without a scratch, we only destroyed his freaking clothes?!"

"How… Why?!" Cody asked, in shock to see their opponent still standing.

"Those were our best attacks…" Yolei muttered. "And we landed them together… How?"

Daemon straightened himself and focused his gaze on Kari. "Child of Light, once again I ask you to come peacefully."

Ophanimon gritted her teeth, and you could feel her glare under the helmet. "You won't keep your word anyway if I come with you!"

Daemon chuckled and raised into the air. A twisted smile coming to his face. "Then let me change your mind…"

He raised a hand and a black fireball surged forward and aimed it to a nearby building, where civilians have come out to observe the events that were taking place in the streets. They all screamed in horror when the hideous devil aimed their fireball at them and ran back to their houses to escape.

The Digidestined gasped in shock and horror at the devil's intention. "Don't you dare!" Killua growled out.

Yet it didn't matter, as Daemon released a stream of flames towards the building without any sort of hesitation.

"No!" Wingdramon moved, with his speed seemingly teleporting in front of the building and standing in the way of the blast. "Blaze Sonic Breath!"

"What child's play," Daemon mocked, adding energy to the blast and pushing back the Digimon until…

"AAAH!" Wingdramon yelled in pain as the flames struck him and sent him to the ground.

His body glowed and he reverted back to Demiveemon, who sported several burns in him.

"DEMIVEEMON!" Davis called for his partner, seeing him injured like that.

"Goodbye," Daemon said coldly, preparing another attack.

"No!" Ophanimon shrouded herself with aura and charged towards the devil who turned and blocked her javelin with his long claw. "Don't you dare put another hand on my friends!"

"Then leave that useless form and come, Child of Light!" Daemon said, raising his free hand to her face. "Chaos Flare!"

Ophanimon raised her shield and blocked the big tornado flames coming her way. She holds her ground even as the flames slowly pushed her back. She gritted her teeth and glared at her opponent.

From within her core, Kari clenched her fists in anger. How much longer, how much longer will people have to suffer because of these beings coming after her? How much longer will her friends have to fight for her sake and their world?!

She couldn't allow a creature like this to win. She wasn't going to let her be taken away without a fight!

Ophanimon raised her head, fueled with Kari's inner desire to fight and her golden aura shimmered. "Eden Atmosphere!"

The golden crux was formed from the aura and put in front of her body as a barrier, slowly pushing back the raging inferno of the devil's hand. Daemon chuckled and applied more power, pushing the crux back and making her grunt in effort.

'K-Kari…' Gatomon's voice echoed from the core. 'I-I don't know how much longer we can last in this form! It's already taxing as it is!'

Kari knew that, she could also feel how her energy was draining from the taxing form that is the Matrix Evolution and the effort is taking to hold such a strong attack, had she been alone she would have

Yet she doesn't fight alone.

"Narukami!"

"Seven Heavens!"

From both sides, Daemon received blasts from Killua and Seraphimon. The devil growled in anger, with his left hand busy he couldn't lash out to both of them at the same time.

Yet Daemon was created for one reason and one reason only. To destroy the Digidestined and bring the Child of Light to his world, and that was what he was going to do no matter what, so identifying the biggest threat he aimed again towards the building. "Obstinate fools you never learn!"

Another stream of flames was not only to the building, but also the unconscious Demiveemon.

"You bastard!" This time, Seraphimon moved. Cursing the name of their opponent, he stood in between the attack and its target. "Holy Sunshine!"

A glow emanated from him that covered formed a wall big enough to protect the building and the unconscious In-Training. JewelBeemon swoop down and scooped his friend in arms while also giving Seraphimon a worried look. "Seraphimon!"

"I'll be fine! Take him away!" The angel told the insectoid as he held the wall of light.

Within his core however, T.K gritted his teeth. Feeling his ethereal muscles tensing as if he was holding a great weight. He couldn't cast his Full Heal while all his focus was on keeping the fire at bay.

Part of Ophanimon's barrier broke and fire brushed past her zinging her cheek. "Ugh!" She grunted as she reinforced her barrier.

Gogmamon ran and caught the stray blast, absorbing it, yet he grimaced from the heat the flames of the devil emanated even inside his crystals. "Fuck, that hurts…"

Daemon smirked triumphantly as he held the two angels in place. He was a Deadmon, he didn't felt fatigue like humans or Digimon, he was a being born for a purpose and he will work tirelessly towards that purpose. The other Digimon can't harm them, if he continues this then the Child of Light will abandon that form as well as the Child of Hope, the other Digimon and the Digidestined will not present a problem for him, he could eliminate them and take his target away. There was still one nuisance however…

Two cords suddenly wrapped around his horns and he felt an electric discharge wrack his whole body. "A-ANOMALY!"

"Leave… My friends… ALONE!" Killua roared, putting the last ounces of his electricity on frying the bastard.

Daemon again turned his head ninety degrees, twisting the cords but not cutting the flow of the electricity. He opened his mouth and launched a giant fireball at the boy.

Killua's eyes widened and he clicked his teeth, dispelling his yo-yos and jumping out of the way. Daemon fired consecutive fireballs, forcing Killua to move and jump out of the way.

"Killua!" JewelBeemon appeared just in time and took the boy and flew back to where the rest of their friends were.

The insectoid landed and handed the In-Training to Davis. "Demiveemon…" Davis whispered, holding his injured partner close.

"He seems unstoppable but it can't be right?" Yolei asked, turning to her friends. "There has to be some way to stop him, right?!"

Killua frowned. "Even holding back Ophanimon and Seraphimon he is able to fend off our attacks with his wing and his mouth… And now that we're down by three our attacks will have less effect… And I don't have that much juice left," He summarized.

"Here," Ken gave him a taser from his book. "It won't help much but…"

"I get it," Killua said, nodding in acknowledgment. "Anything counts."

Daemon increased the power on his flames. Cracks appearing in the barriers of the angels, if they break a building full of people will suffer, even if they could see them starting to evacuate, and both will take the full force of the attacks.

"Why did you have to come here?!" Seraphimon demanded as he put more strength behind his barrier. And from the core, T.K echoed the sentiment with anger. "If you belong to the darkness then stay there! Don't come here to torment us!"

Cody looked at the group. "Could we maybe ask for help? I know the others are busy with Hisoka, but what about Gennai or Leomon?!"

"How do we contact them?!" Killua asked, finishing recharging and throwing the taser which dissolved. "We have no laptop and no time!"

"Then it's that it? There's nothing we can do?!" Yolei asked, stamping her foot on the floor and glaring up. "I refuse, I can't accept that!"

"And Sparky never said that either!" Davis refuted, defending his leader. "There is a way, there has to be!"

Ken looked at the scene, feeling as despairing as his friends. No one wanted to give up, no one wanted to throw the towel, but they had to look at the facts. This Deadmon was stronger than SkullSatamon, far more than they expected, maybe with the older kids they would have already won but that wasn't an option.

He glared at the demon. He was here because of the towers! The damn towers he put on the Digital World as the Emperor, the work of a twisted mind that manipulated him from the shadow. Those towers are the responsible for bringing him from that world!

That world…

Wait.

"Guys!" Ken said, fishing out his Digivice. "I have an idea… But I don't know if it'll work."

"Look by this point, anything works!" Davis told him, clear urgency in his voice.

Ken looked at his Digivice and then back at the triumphant demon, he gripped the device and looked at his friends. "We have to sent him back to his world, to that ocean!"

"But wouldn't he just keep coming back?" Cody asked.

"Not exactly…" Killua said, looking down in thought. "The towers are the reason they appeared, if we destroyed them before they appear…"

He looked down at the unconscious Demiveemon. "If Kari or T.K can heal Demiveemon then it'll be just as Gennai said: Wingdramon is the key with his speed to destroy the ones remaining. Only problem is that we don't know how long it'll take for him to come back, but that at least will give us time."

"And how do we open a gate there?" Yolei asked. "The last time we went there, it was against our will…"

"My Digivice once took me there!" Ken revealed, making them all turn to him. "Not only that, but it was once connected to the towers and emanated dark power… It's possible it can still do it and with what we know about Hikarigaoka, it's the perfect place for us to try."

"AGH!" Screams from both angels called them down, they looked up to see their barriers cracking and their forms glowing, clearly struggling to keep that form.

"We don't lose nothing trying it! Do it!" Killua told him with urgency.

Ken nodded and raised his Digivice. At first it just emanated a pink light, related to the power of his Crest. Yet slowly the color started to dim out, until it turned gray and slowly into black.

A splashing sound could be heard through all of the block where they were standing. That single sound brought shivers to all of them, a shiver that had nothing to do with the cold weather of the season.

Above Daemon a black stain seemed to appear in reality itself, slowly opening and gathering until it started growing in size. The sounds of water splashing becoming even louder and louder and an image appearing in the tear of reality that was forming over the sky.

Daemon heard the sounds, he turned around and his eyes widened. "Home?! But how?!"

Ophanimon's eyes widened as she felt Daemon's attack weaken, but they were focused on the portal appearing above them. "T-That's…"

Seraphimon's focus went to the portal as well, feeling a shiver ran down his spine. "So that's… the Dark Ocean…"

As the portal took form, Ken trembled. He trembled because staring at those waves reminded him of the darkness that appeared in front of him during his last days as the Emperor, the abyss in which he gazed down and that gazed back at him. He felt his hand shaking and he put the other one around it to keep it steady.

Yet she could feel it… Calling him out, whispering in his ear.

"No… No, no!" He yelled, shaking his head and looking away.

"Ken!" JewelBeemon called out as he settled down and kneeled next to his partner. "What's wrong, Ken?!"

Above them, as if it was a vacuum, the portal started to aspirate that which belonged to it. Daemon cancelled his attack as he was being dragged back, dust seeped from his body and his form slowly shrank to his original size. "No! No! I can't go back yet!"

With the flames gone, Ophanimon and Seraphimon dropped their barriers and allowed themselves to touch the ground. Their bodies glowed and reverted back to their human forms, Nyaramon and Poyomon resting next to their partners.

"He's leaving…" Kari panted, relief washing over her.

That relief was cut short, when she heard a pained scream behind her. She turned around to see Ken, struggling to just keep his Digivice up in place. Killua and JewelBeemon holding his shoulders in comfort.

"Hang in there, Ken!" Killua said, as he helped his friend stand upright.

"It'll be over soon, it's okay!" JewelBeemon said, trying to sooth his partner.

Kari sat up, holding Nyaramon on her arms and observing what her friend was doing. "Ken… That place also has an effect on him, and yet he's summoning it to help…"

Her gaze grew steely, even if her body was feeling wobbly after becoming Ophanimon she wanted to be there to help, she wanted to be there in the end of the fight.

"Woah there!" Yolei ran up to her and helped her stay steady. "Kari, take it easy…"

"Ken… He is suffering…" The girl said, struggling to stay on her feet. "We have to… be there for him…"

Yolei looked back at Ken, her heart aching at seeing him sweating and gritting his teeth as Killua and JewelBeemon helped him stay stable. She filled herself with resolve and nodded at her. "Of course, we'll both be there for him."

Cody ran and helped T.K back to his feet in the same way Yolei was doing for Kari. The blonde boy was sweating and staring at Ken's struggle. "Ken… He…"

"He's fighting against his fear of the darkness…" Cody said, knowing of the boy's apprehension of the darkness due to his past actions. "For our sakes. We have to help him!"

T.K nodded. "We will."

Soon all of the Digidestined gathered around the boy. Putting a hand around his arm to help him keep a steady hold of his Digivice. "Hang in there, Ken!" Kari said.

"This is scary, I know!" Yolei said. "But you're not doing it alone!"

"The power of darkness might feel overwhelming," T.K said, using one hand to hold Poyomon and the other to hold Ken's arm. "But we have overcome it before!"

Daemon wasn't going to sit idly as the Digidestined tried to vanish him back to his world. "Fools! I won't let this stand! Infernal Flame!"

The giant ball of fire was launched towards the group. JewelBeemon broke apart from the group and thrusted his spear forward. "Spike Buster!"

The tip of his spear clashed against the fireball, struggling to keep it from reaching the kids. Hippogryphmon and Gogmamon joined in in his effort.

"Heat Wave!"

"Cursed Reflection!"

Their attacks combined made the ball of fire detonate. The smoke cleared, and while the Ultimates had burn marks all over, they weren't deterred.

Davis placed his hands around Ken's as well. "Ken if you're afraid of the dark due to the past then don't. You are no longer the Digimon Emperor, and you've more than make up for back then!"

Killua nodded, reinforcing his grip on the boy's hand. "That's right, we wouldn't have made it this far without you! Even now you are doing everything you can to help! So don't be afraid of what that world might do to you!"

Ken heard them. He heard them all throughout his suffering against the darkness. He gripped his Digivice tightly and glared at the abyss, this time not afraid of what might glare back at him.

The portal grew in size, and more and more Daemon was pulled in. No matter how hard he pushed forward, no matter how hard he is trying to resist the call of his home world it was just impossible. The Dark Ocean was claiming what belonged there, and that something was Daemon.

'No! I can't go to my master empty handed I can't!' He raged, struggling to stay on this world with all of his strength.

He glared at the group below him. A group that denied them a source of newfound strength to their world, a group of creatures that didn't understood the constant struggle his kind had to go through all of their lifespan. This wasn't something their master was doing on a whim; this was something that would define the future of all Deadmon!

And these little ants dared to take that away from them!

"I won't fail!" Daemon grunted, struggling with all of his remaining strength to stay in this world. "I came here for a single purpose and I shall fulfill it!"

His eyes zeroed on the target. The Child of Light, Kari Kamiya. A child that could be the key to bringing new life to their world, and yet has denied their more peaceful approaches with her and the found new ways to struggle against her destiny.

No more.

"Child of Light!" Daemon growled, brandishing his claw. "I don't care how… You are coming with me!"

His claw extended, stretching far beyond of what one would think possible. And aimed straight to Kari, who only had time for her eyes to widen in shock…

All the Megas struggled to stand on their feet, various bruises and cuts on their bodies, their bodies glowing as they barely held their strongest form for the battle was not over yet.

Hisoka stood in front of them. Like them he had some wounds in him, but nothing major. And unlike them, he was standing on his feet without any sort of struggle, he continued to smile and licked the blood dripping down his lip. He had several burn marks as well, but that didn't even go to second degree burns.

He licked his lips and let out a moan of satisfaction, with his eyes rolling to the back of his head as he did so. "Oh~! This was a good fight…" He looked up at the dark sky, feeling the ecstasy flow through his body and hugging himself as he rubbed his arms over and over. "Your attacks, your passion, your desire to win! EVERYTHING! It was all so delicious! Oh~ OH~!"

Hisoka's moans became louder and louder, the Digimon staring at him as if he had gone crazy. VictoryGreymon tried lifting his sword, yet the stab wounds he received on his shoulder at the beginning of the fight had aggravated through the course of the fight, making him flinch and dropping his sword making it clang uselessly on the floor.

ZeedGarurumon growled and tried to summon energy into the Zeed Canon, but as it gathered it just poof-ed out before anything remotely strong could be made. "D-Damn!"

"Not even Piedmon run this many circles around us…" Rosemon gasped, trying to hold her whip to no avail. "If he could turn us into keychains then he would have done so a dozen times over."

Vikemon tries to hold his flails up, or to conjure some cold from his insides, but he falls short on both regards. His weapons falling down on the floor. "Crap."

"We can't just let him go away…" Phoenixmon argued, even though her ruffled feathers and slumped body form didn't show any strength to back up her words.

"If he did this to us, then along with Daemon the other kids won't stand a chance," HerakleKabuterimon said, trying to bring out any spark on his horns.

At the top of a building, Tai and Matt could only watch hopelessly as their partners and friends were defeated by Hisoka. There was no other way of saying it, they were all tired and beaten down, while Hisoka seemed to be enjoying himself—Too much if you see it from a less emotional perspective.

"Dang it!" Matt said, slamming his fists against the edge of the roof. "What is he a monster?!"

Tai clenched his fist and gritted his teeth. The idea of losing, of not being able to do anything else being sickening to him knowing how much was at stake right now. Not only the fate of their world, but also what they might do to his sister. "What can we do right now?!" He muttered in frustration.

Hisoka stopped feeling the climax of his euphoria for this battle, his head dropping and his hands twitching. "But I can see you reached your limits… And I'm too close to reaching my goal. So, I'm sorry, my dears," He clenched his fingers and his knuckles cracked as he did. His eyes narrowed and he started walking towards them. "But its time for the curtain to fall…"

The Megas tensed, ready to fight again even if their bodies screamed at them to just lay down and rest. Matt and Tai just gritted their teeth, helpless to do anything to help their friends and their partners. There was nothing new they could bring to the table, not unless the younger kids and Killua arrived at the last second to help them take down the clown, that Ophanimon healed them like she did with Tai the day prior, and that Hisoka doesn't get away like last time.

But that seemed impossible at the moment. Nothing seemed to be at their disposal to stop Hisoka right now.

"Damn it! Get out from there! VICTORYGREYMON!" In one last, desperate attempt. Tai yelled at his partner to get away from their enemy.

"ZEEDGARURUMON, EVERYONE, RUN!" Matt yelled at the top of his lungs.

Hisoka heard them, eyeing the building where they were and chuckling. "How cute to see them worry… But also, quite nosy and annoying," He finished in annoyance.

He took grabbed some remaining cards from his pockets and look up at the Digimon, ready to use them to turn the Megas into data. While they proved to be the best fight he's had in a while, if he wanted to enjoy the fruits of his hard labor in infiltrating the Phantom Troupe, and his adventure in Greed Island, then he will have to cut this short.

So then, imagine his surprise when his body shook and a shiver ran down his spine. 'Huh?'

He looked around wondering what that sensation was. The Digimon looked at him confusedly. A weird sense of Déjà vu went over him as that shiver wracked his body again, he felt it once before… moments before he was whisked away to that beach. Yet it was not so severe, it was more like he was being told—being whispered—something.

'Something happened… Like it's being a change of plans…' He clicked his teeth in annoyance at the whims of that ocean.

He jumped towards a building, using his Bungee Gum to run vertically on it and towards the direction of Oikawa's base. He didn't like this; it went against his desires for a fight. And it obviously put in jeopardy everything he worked so hard back in his world.

'Once says to not bite the hand that feeds you… but if said hand always puts the food right in front of you and taunts you with it…' He trailed off, as he jumped from roof to roof.

The Megas all stared in the direction where he ran off, and as if sensing that they were no longer in danger they allowed themselves to collapse, their bodies glowing and reverting to their In-Training forms. "What… just… happened?" Tsunomon asked tiredly.

"I dunno…" Koromon responded, eyelids heavy with tiredness.

Matt and Tai couldn't have run faster as they made their way down to the In-Trainings. The boys scooping their partners into their arms as soon as they could. "It's over, for now…" Tai said.

"Yes, but this wasn't a victory. It was just… Dumb luck," Matt told him, cradling his partner.

Tai grimaced but knew his friend was right. He fished his phone out of his pockets. "I'm going to call Sora, to put her up to date. Then we go where Kari and the others are."

"You think we are of any help as we are?" Matt asked dryly as he held Tsunomon close to him.

Tai sighed. "No, but we have to check on how they are doing. And maybe, if Kari is still Ophanimon, with her skills we can bring back our strength… I hope."

"So hungry…" Koromon mumbled, making Tai pet his head with a soft look on his face.

"I know buddy, I know," Tai said reassuringly.

Matt still didn't seem convinced by the idea. But his worry for his little brother and the others was great, and right now even bad plans were better than no plan at all. He sighed and nodded.

The call finally connected in Tai's phone. "Ah, hello, Sora?"

The police had arrived, and finally those poor children could be sent back to their homes. Sora and Mimi however hadn't stayed for long, just enough to look after the children until they saw the lights and heard the sirens arriving.

They were forced to walk all the way to Odaiba, and felt a strange sense of luck that their parents were in the known of this mission. The grounding would have been legendary otherwise.

Sora fished out her phone and nodded along with what was being said from the other side. "I see… Okay…" Mimi stared at her friend and the troubled look on her face, making her feel even more nervous. "Alright, I'll see you there, bye."

Once she hung up, Mimi couldn't hold her curiosity any longer. "What happened?"

"All our partners fought against Hisoka, while the other kids fought Daemon," Sora summarized, looking at her Digivice to check that indeed all the colorful dots were together, while the white ones were all dispersed.

Curiously, two of them were moving fast.

She stuffed it back and sighed. "According to Tai it didn't go well…" she said. "Our partners are safe but back to In-Training…"

Mimi frowned and bit her lip. "Tanemon…" She whispered in worry.

Before they could continue to dwell on the worry, a loud car horn rang behind them. They turned to see a yellow car slowing down its speed until it parked right next to them.

The windows of the backseat lowered, and a smiling Joe emerged from there. "Need a lift, girls?"

"Joe?!" The girls leaned in the window and saw that Izzy was with him and in the front row a young man only Sora recognized. "Mister Shin?!"

"Hi, Sora," Shin Kido greeted, waving a hand at her. "Professor Haruhiko sends his regards."

The girls entered the car and it drove off towards the signal of the other Digidestined, while the girls put the others to date.

"And like that…" Maki said, as she emerged from the bathroom with clean clothes. "Is how you hit bottom!"

Oikawa, also in a clean, black, turtleneck sweater smiled over his cocoa with marshmallows. "At least we got away, you got my Zetsu to thank for that."

When forced to park the truck, they hide in the only available place: The garbage containers and when inside Oikawa used his laptop to send Arukenimon and the Digivice away to the Digital World so the signal won't be tracked. Once the kids were taken away, they had to move quickly and sneakily to not get caught by the police.

Oikawa settled his mug at the side and opened his laptop. The screen lit up and the woman in red came out from it. She extended the Digivice towards the man as the first thing upon arriving. "Here sir, what belongs to you."

"Thank you, dear," Oikawa said, as he pocketed his device. "Now all we have to do is wait for the good news. And in the meantime, to re-start our own plans as well."

"You mean…" Arukenimon asked, perking up.

Oikawa smirked. "Our little puppy should be recovered by now. I'll have to pay our allies a visit to retrieve him."

Maki, as it was usual, felt lost upon the conversations between these two and she was really starting to feel out of place. She bit her lip, nervousness starting to rise as she knows that she isn't exactly seen with good eyes by the two of them and only Hisoka's presence is what has kept them from kicking her out or worse…

Speak of the devil and he shall appear. Hisoka opened the door brusquely and walked in, dusting off the snow. He seemed better days, with his bruised covered body and some burn marks, but that didn't seem to stop him. "I think we got problems."

The attention was on him as he said those words. With Oikawa narrowing his eyes and raising an eyebrow in suspicion. "What sort of problem?"

"Something went wrong…" He said, as he walked in and sat on the couch. "I can feel how my 'benefactor' isn't happy."

"So, they beat Daemon?" Arukenimon asked with a scoff.

Hisoka closed his eyes and shook his head. "I think it's more than that. I've never felt such a disgusting feeling coming from that world before… Something else might have happened."

The entire group was now left with the mystery behind Hisoka's words.

Unsettling, concerning, and disconcerting. Those were words that one could use to describe Tai and Matt's feelings when they arrived back where their younger friends were. For all of them were on the floor, their forms slouched and defeated, one could feel the melancholy in the air around them.

Tai, who was carrying Koromon as well as Yokomon and Motimon saw the scene and slowly walked to the nearest kid. "Davis? Man, what happened?"

Davis was on his knees, clutching Demiveemon who looked really beat up, and looking down. "Tai… We messed up…!"

Tai was about to ask what he meant, when Matt's voice suddenly cut him off. "T.K!"

The older blonde carrying Tsunomon, Tanemon and Bukamon, ran towards his younger brother, who was unconscious next to Cody, who looked completely distressed with a haunted look on his eyes. Matt skidded to a stop and looked over his little brother's unconscious form. "What happened?"

"W-When he returned to normal, he collapsed…" Cody explained, rubbing his arms up and down. "I don't know why, I-I…"

"Hey, it's okay," Matt reassured. "It's probably just this new form that takes a toll in him, it's no big deal…"

"It is!" He turned to see Yolei, who was sitting on a crouched position and running her hand through her hair. "This is a complete disaster!"

Ken was a few feet from there, clutching his Digivice and staring at it with anger, and upon closer inspection one would see that the Digivice was now exactly like the others: white with grids of a color, black in this case. "We were careless… We lowered our guard, believing we won!"

Tai wasn't making any sense of what the kids were saying. He gave one last glance at Davis before sitting up and scanning the streets, frantically until his eyes landed on that person he was looking for. They were huddled next to a building, hands drawn to their chest and arms wrapped around them.

Tai walked up to them and sat in front of them with a worried frown. "Kari… What happened?"

The girl raised her head, tears streaming down her face as she faced her brother. She opened her mouth to speak, but a sob escaped. She scrubbed her eyes with the back of her hand, all the while Tai waited patiently for her to compose herself. "Tai… I-I…" She hiccupped.

Brotherly instincts kicking in, Tai settled the sleeping In-Trainings down and pulled his sister into a hug. "It's okay, Kari, it's okay."

The girl shook her head in denial. "No, it's not. Killua… He's… Daemon…"

She shook harder and Tai readjusted his grip on her, he felt as she took a deep breath and then let it out. Tai waited as she did the same process over and over and then let her go slowly to face her. "Slowly, what happened?"

Again, she took a deep breath. Her eyes trailing to Nyaramon as she slept with a troubled expression on her face. She bit her lip and gulped, forcing herself to look into her brother's chocolate eyes to tell him of what happened. "Killua…

His claw extended, stretching far beyond of what one would think possible. And aimed straight to Kari, who only had time for her eyes to widen in shock… Someone else had time to react.

"Kari!" Killua yelled as he let go of Ken's hand and moved towards the girl.

With a shove, the girl hit the pavement out of the way of the claw. However, the limb found another victim, clapping around Killua's neck and retreating to its origin.

The Digidestined gasped as they saw this. Their eyes widening in fear and shock. "NO!"

"ANOMALY!" Daemon growled as his limbs was retrieved just by instinct and without him wishing so.

There was nothing anyone could as Killua was dragged away. Daemon had been seconds away from being absorbed by the portal, and so when his body was finally swallowed by it so was the white-haired boy. And once they were in, the portal closed. The sky returning to normal, the light from Ken's Digivice returning to normal and its gray color turning to white like his friends'.

"No…" Kari muttered. "Killua he is…"

"No, no, no, no!" Davis said. "Ken! Open it again! We have to get him out from there!"

Ken tried, he really tried, yet his Digivice showed no reaction. "It's not working!" He said, trying for it to do the same as before. "It's just not working!"

"We can't just stay here…" T.K said, giving a couple steps ahead. "We… We have to… have to… to…"

Before he could finish, his legs gave out and he collapsed into the pavement. Cody running to aid him. "T.K! Poyomon!"

The Ultimate Digimon reverted to their Rookie forms and walked next to their partners, sharing their troubled expressions.

Yolei was looking at the sky with shaky eyes. "This can't be right? We were just about to win! How… this isn't fair!"

Davis sat down, settling Demiveemon next to him. He looked down at his fists and clenched them with frustration. "Damn it!" He slammed them down to the pavement and again, and again. "Damn it! Damn it! One shit after the other!"

Kari just stared at the sky where her friend has vanished to. He had been taken instead of her, that attack had been aimed at her and he was taken because of that. He was taken away because he protected her.

Her eyes were filled with tears as she gave a heart-wrenching scream to the sky. "KILLUAAAAA!"

"… He is alone on that Dark Ocean…" As she said these words, Kari broke once again. The culmination of this nightmarish day finally took its toll on the poor girl as she broke down sobbing again.

Tai just held her, held her sister as she let out her fear, frustration, anger and sadness on his chest. He looked back at Matt, who had heard everything and looked just as grim and shocked by this turn of events.

With steely resolve, Tai whispered words of comfort to his sister. "We'll get him back, Kari. We'll get him back."

They waited until Sora and the others arrived on a car driven by Joe's brother. They had too much to talk about, and too much to prepare to rescue their friend.

With a thud, they both landed on a moisty floor. Killua coughed and sat up, he looked around and noticed a distinct lack of color in the ambience, as if all life had been drained out from the world. It didn't take him long to know where he was. 'Great…'

"YOUUU!"

Killua turned to see an enraged Daemon in front of him. His red eyes now looking bloodshot from rage and fire licking at the corner of his lips. "Do you have ANY IDEA of what have DONE TO ME!?"

Killua glared at him and let his Ren out. "I don't give a shit about you. Now, I want to get out from here… And you are in my way to do so."

Godspeed aura formed around her and Daemon's black flames surged from his fists. The battle had changed locations, but it was far from over.

A/N: I… can't believe I actually did it…

Wow.
