Hello Readers! I forgot just how fun it is to write sometimes! Do you all ever get like that? You just start something you forgot about cause there were bigger issues, and it's the greatest thing you've ever done. Anyway, I am having a problem with a few character's teams, so I will ask:
Should all Pokèmon trainers have Six Pokèmon? Please comment, I am genuinely struggling with this one.
Along with that, we are getting introduced to another main character (Yay!), and bankai777 got me thinking about just where Serena would be in the story. I remember that I said, "Oh, I'll put Serena in later down the line," but, you know… it kinda got the brain juices moving. A-anyways, all this to say that, I'm sorry, but don't be surprised if Serena is a little out of character.
naruto876543210storyreader: YO, I am so glad you are enjoying this, I put a lot of thought into this story! If there are any parts in particular you like, I'd also like to know them!
thor94: that is a really good question, but the best thing I can tell you is that I'm gonna have to have the story tell that for me. Best I can give right now is that Lugia is kind of like the Uzumaki Clan Deity, if you will? We'll be getting into that this chapter, so stick around!
As for the, "Minato is an evil bastard and the true mastermind behind the Lugia attack," I wouldn't quite say that. I mean, objectively speaking, Minato is probably the one who- I mean, yeah, yeah.
Without further ado, please enjoy Whirlpool Trainer: The Wind of Ages by Joe Hisashi

"Patience is the greatest tool of the mind," an old male voice says, gravely and proud. "From learning to fighting and beyond, patience is important to all forms of life and important throughout it as well."
The voice began to continue, suppressing little of its laughter. Yet, there is part of patience we miss commonly, and it is that it is simply a waste of time! You expect me to waste away for the possibility that patience will pay off? Foolish, foolish I call you! I am withering away as it is, I'm not wasting it!
"If you wish to simply waste away patiently, you can gladly do so. I, however, will not let another moment of my life fly by without seeing it through!"
Eyes snap open, revealing opaque red pupils, belonging to a small redheaded girl, about 10 to 11 years old. Looking around briefly, soft pink wallpaper, covered with various events, such as famous tournaments, Pokèmon Contests, and Concerts, ranging from Kanto to Paldea. Two beds sit farthest from the door, a side table in between them.
Making a blind grab, the redhead misses the glasses that sit upon said side table a few times before grasping hold of them, letting out a sigh of relief. Quickly putting them on, the redhead's gaze zooms in on the only calendar in the room, counting the scratched-out days until she reaches a circled day.
Quickly flying out of bed, the girl yelled, "Mom! Mom! Today's the day! It's today, it's today!"
The groans and moans of another being reverberated from the second bed, a set of eyes peeking at the redhead with a tired and sad gaze. "Why must you do this to me?" A female said in a pouting tone, the voice muffled by the blanket.
"Oh, shut up, we don't want to be late," the redheaded girl argued flippantly.
With a grunt of effort, it was revealed to be a 10-year-old blonde girl under the covers, an annoyed and slightly hurt expression on her face. "I am not the reason we're always late!"
"I didn't say you were," the redhead dismissed, making the blonde pout dramatically. The redhead only rolled her eyes in response.
"Serena, Karin, good to see you two up," they both heard a voice call. Both were surprised when they watched their mother enter the room, a small red and gray bird upon her shoulder. She had an apron on, with long pants and a long-sleeved shirt. She had black hair, as compared to both her daughter's blonde and red, respectfully.
"Grace! I didn't expect you to come up here," Karin exclaimed, moving her glasses up the bridge of her nose. However, the securing of the glasses didn't matter, as Karin felt something slam into her chest, launching them off her. Or was it her off them? She didn't know, nor did she care to know.
All cared about was getting the breath back into her lungs, and maybe getting back at her sister for giggling at her. Looking down, her vision landed on a small reptilian Pokémon resembling a light-blue turtle. It has large, purple-red eyes and a slightly hooked upper lip. Each of its hands and feet has three pointed digits. The end of its long, squirrel-like tail curls inward. Its body is encased by a tough shell that forms and hardens after birth. This shell is brown on the top, pale yellow on the bottom, and has a thick white ridge between the two halves.
"Squirtle!" the energetic turtle sounded happily.
"Happy to see you too," Karin responded, far less happy.
Still giggling, Serena helped Karin by putting the glasses on her face, scratching Squirtle under the chin a little. Grabbing previously prepared clothes (think Serena's clothes during Prof. Oak's camp flashback), Serena looked back at the two saying, "I'm gonna change in the bathroom, okay?"
Karin blinked and smiled at Serena. 'Maybe I don't need to prank her,' Karin thought happily.
Karin was thankful to the mother-daughter duo, very thankful indeed. 'How many years has it been since Mo-Grace, I mean, Grace, adopted me? I think like 4 or 5 years ago? Yeah, yeah, that sounds about right!'
Karin looked down at herself, her body covered in her pajamas completely except for the hands and feet. Rolling her up a little, she winced as a variety of bite wounds revealed themselves. 'Yes, I should be thankful,' Karin thought darkly.
Quickly changing, Karin went downstairs, her eyes capturing the living room and kitchen table. Karin quickly spotted a stack of flapjacks at her seat, Serena occupying the other side. A bowl of Pokèmon food sat beside the kitchen entrance, which Squirtle charged for after he successfully crawled downstairs. Standing alone, Karin made her way to the table in an uncomfortable manner, making her sister look at her with concern.
"Hey, Karin, you doing okay?" Serena asked in a concerned voice. "You seem a little uptight."
"I'm fine," Karin answered curtly, sitting down fluidly.
"Are not."
"Am too!"
"Girls, why do we do the same song and dance each time we sit down at the family table," Grace groaned.
"Serena, leave Karin alone." Hiding it the best she can, Karin used her secret technique: the hidden teasing face, right side!
"And Karin," Grace said, making Karin comically poke herself in the right eye. "What did I say about you and Serena talking?"
Slowly looking over to Grace with slightly watery eyes while covering right eye, Karin said in a down-written tone, "Don't shut down the conversation."
"Good, now do we have our bags prepared?"
"Yes./Yes!"
"Do we know what region we'll be going to?"
"Yes!/Yeah!"
"Are we gonna make mama proud?"
"I mean../YEAH!"
"Okay! Let's grab our stuff, get in the car, and drive on over!"
"YEAH!!"
~
"Nooooo," Karin groaned, her feet killing her. "Just forget it, let's just walk back…"
"Come on, Karin, it's just a little further," Grace muttered placatingly, trying to comfort herself as well. Serena was nearly sleep walking at this point.
"Mooom! I know that's a lie, plus, it's just a camp, it isn't worth walking a marathon for!" Karin argued. "Plus, wouldn't we have missed the flight at this point?"
Grace blinked before responding with, "We would have missed the flight, however, I got a feeling something like this may happen last week, so I changed them to be later."
"Okay, mommy. Are you close?" Serena muttered sleepily.
"Yup, just a little further now," Grace said once more.
"What about, 'it isn't good to lie,'" Karin huffed.
"What was that young lady?"
"Nothing! Just, the sky is beautiful today, huh?"
"One time today, little lady," Grace gritted out. "No more sass from you, or you'll earn yourself a beating…"
"Okay, okay, calm down, I think… are those police?"
"Of course," Grace growled. "Out of all the roads we could've chosen, we get the one with possible criminal activity, how joyous."
"I mean, it looks like they're cleaning up," Karin said dismissively. "Look, that guy in the red c-coat…" She realized halfway through just whom she was looking at. In fact, whom she was looking in the eye.
Karin felt her arms and legs lock into place. Why is Jiraiya of the Sannin here? Does that mean shinobi are entering the Kalos region? Why is Konoha entering the Kalos region? What could they want? Are the other villages privy to this exertion? Are they trying to find traitors? Tying up loose ends?
A young, blonde boy, barely taller than her at 8 years old stomps up to the dangerous, tears rolling down his face. With an ugly face full of anger, sadness, fear, hate, far too many to list, the boy's chest swells before yelling, "Who are you to say that I'm your godson?!"

Far from the current events, two beings, a man and Pokèmon, sit in opposition, a tea set sitting upon the table with said board, freshly poured matcha mixing within their individual cups.
'Does one truly wish to return?' A mental voice probed the rather pale stranger. 'Twas not one's own wish to leave?'
"It was my own wish, yet the reason for that wish is… becoming stronger," the pale stranger answered smoothly, his soft expression becoming contemplative. "How is Project UB coming along?"
'From our last conversation,' the Pokèmon responded, 'Project UB has been coming along swimmingly, with several results already revealing themselves, yet none battle ready.'
The stranger sighed, shaking his head. "A predictable outcome, yet still disappointing all the same."
'I will advise not facing the Toad's student,' the Pokèmon forewarned.
"Oh? And why do you say that? Everybody knows he's been dead for nearly half a decade."
'I can sense his rage and hate,' the Pokèmon answered simply. 'I have never sensed a man with so much of it, even with that Uchiha.'
"I don't think I've ever heard the Fourth be so rage-filled," the stranger thought with a little glee. "Just what has changed him?"

HOO boy, I hope you enjoyed that, bankai777 , cause I certainly did enjoy writing it! I was planning for Karin to be dragged alongside Jiraiya, but a certain comment had drawn my attention, and it sent my mind firing on all eight cylinders.
Karin will be taking the place of Sakura. No disrespect to Sakura, but I don't respect the original placement of team 7, I mean, that was a match made in hell for all included!
Naruto's Team: Kurama (Fennekin), Jolyne (Popplio), Okkoto (Mamoswine), ???, ???, ???, ???, ???
Karin's Team: ??? (Squirtle), ???, ???, ???, ???, ???
Until next time, readers!
