CHAPTER SEVEN

DISCLAIMER: J.K. ROWLING owns the Harry Potter world.

Author's Note: As someone who loves Harry Potter, Jasira had read a lot of fanfictions and had done many research back before she got sucked in HP world. Now, she's an inventor who has made many protection spells to help the Wizarding World by using her knowledge from what she had read. (If you've read the Dark Prince trilogy you'll notice it being mentioned there) One of them is the full body shield charm, which can extend to many people from afar with the right amount of concentration. I had noticed that the Wizarding World lacked protection spells in magic and so made it my goal to change that.

Credit goes to Kurinoone, author of the Dark Prince trilogy for invention of that shield and I thought it would be fun if, as a fan, we had invented a similar one to make life easier in battles. I simply turned it into a spell and added a few features of my own but otherwise I make no claim to ownership.

You'll also notice how powerful Reyna and Rylan are and this is because they have been trained from a young age by Jasira how to take care of themselves and a few basics in dueling. Jasira herself is extremely powerful because she not only holds knowledge of the future, but the past as well, not to mention she is very skilled and naturally talented in magic.

Enjoy!

Thursday 5th Sept 1990

"Cade, next time you walk out on training again I'll make sure you start with the newbies, that clear?" barked out Moody as Felicity entered the training room on Thursday.

The brunette nodded," I had an emergency."

"Emergency or not, you have to inform me specifically before leaving. You're lucky it was the first time otherwise you wouldn't be standing in front of me today," growled Moody, waving his wand around the room.

Felicity knitted her eyebrows," I did inform you. Didn't Kingsley tell you my message?"

"What message? He only told me you had to leave because there was an emergency," grunted Moody, now moving around and making circles appear around the room.

Felicity blinked," Exactly what sort of message do you want to receive then?"

Moody glared at her but said nothing," Your practice today: thirty laps around the room, you stop you start over, once you're done I want you to take down the wards placed on these circles to get the box at the end of the room. Be done by twelve, and no slacking. You still have your antidote practicals after lunch with me."

Felicity nodded, a slight grimace on her face. Thirty laps were no joke, especially when the room was almost the size of the Great Hall. She had practiced the same when she had first arrived, physical defense was required in Auror training.

Moody glanced at her as she started to jog, likely making sure she completed her laps before resuming his muttering of spells that were to be broken down by her soon.

Reyna and Rylan may be in two different Houses, but they could be found together whenever possible. Before breakfast the twins would meet at six in the Room of Requirement every Thursday and Tuesday to practice their dueling, and today was no less.

Reyna ducked as Rylan's stunning spell came at her, and she shot her own at him. Her aim had always been better than her twin, and she watched as it hit him. Summoning his wand, she revived him, smirking as he groaned," This is the third time Reyn. Mum'll think I'm slacking."

"Not my fault you don't know how to duck," sang Reyna, throwing him back his wand and summoning a bathroom.

"Got to get ready, breakfast's already started," she said, walking over and closing the door. Rylan followed suit into the bathroom next to hers and they both emerged at the same time.

"When's our next prank going to be?" said Rylan as the two exited the room.

Reyna shrugged," We can make it on a school day, personally I'd like to meet the Weasley twins to make acquaintances."

"You sure the correct term isn't friends?" teased Rylan, making his way to the Gryffindor common room.

He hesitated before saying," C'mon, just enter."

Reyna couldn't' help the apprehensive look," You sure?"

Rylan paused before nodding," Gryffindors won't do anything unless you're an actual threat. Better to earn yourself a name now than have it earned for you."

Reyna squared her eleven-year-old shoulders," Let's go then."

Reyna smiled as she entered, somehow the common room felt familiar to her. The roaring of the fire, the brightly painted walls, this could have been her common room as well, if she hadn't chosen Slytherin. She found that she didn't regret it though, just because Slytherin common room didn't have the same relaxed atmosphere didn't mean it was all bad. She had friends there, and hopefully, she'd have some here as well.

"Just like the books from mum's description, right?" Rylan whispered as the portrait hole closed behind them.

Reyna nodded in agreement, and was about to answer when a loud, rude voice called out," What's a snake doing in our common room?"

The Cade twins turned in unison to face a slightly burly first year Gryffindor, curly brown hair and eyes that glared mistrustfully at Reyna. Unluckily for Reyna, who hated any attention directed at her, the twenty or so people who were in the common room turned to look at her, and the others who were coming down also stared.

"She's a visitor, McLaggen, that a problem?" Rylan jumped in, standing protectively in front of his sister.

McLaggen walked over to him and said with arms crossed," Yes, Cade, there is a problem. You can't go about bringing slimy suspicious snakes in our common room!"

Reyna scowled at him," I'm not here to spy on you if that's what you're saying."

Some of the older Gryffindors were murmuring as well and just then, fortunately or unfortunately, two identical looking Weasleys came bouncing downstairs and came to a halt when they saw the gathering.

"Oy, what's the hold up?" called Fred, walking over so that he was directly in front of Reyna.

McLaggen smirked triumphantly and quickly said," Cade's brought in a snake."

George raised his eyebrows before looking at Reyna, who had her arms crossed," Reyna Cade was it? The one who stood up to Snape?"

Reyna looked a bit surprised before nodding and Lee Jordan gave a whistle," Never heard that. A snake standing up to Snape."

A few Gryffindors were looking skeptical and one called out," How do we know you aren't here to report back to Flint about Quidditch?" surprisingly it was not Oliver Woods, rather a sixth year with a scowl on his face.

Reyna scowled back," Flint and I aren't on good terms lately so I doubt he'd trust me on whatever I have to say."

Fred clapped his hands," That settles it then, female twin Cade is not a spy. Any objections?" his eyes landed on McLaggen, and the boy gave him a sour look.

"Good," George gave Reyna a bow and said," Anyone who stands up for a lion is welcome in our common room."

Reyna relaxed slightly and smiled at him," Thanks."

Rylan looked relieved as well and turned to Reyna, as the crowd was dispersing, some throwing the Slytherin hostile glances," That went better than expected," he said jokingly.

Reyna nodded, and Rylan could see how relieved she was at having been accepted," Thanks, Fred and George," she called to the two leaving Weasley boys.

They turned and gave her crooked grins," Don't mention it, just uh, try not to prove us wrong," said George easily.

Reyna smiled," I won't."

When Felicity was done with morning training till twelve, Moody gave her a thirty-minute break with a warning off," I better not get a message saying you've had an emergency Cade. You better be in training room 3 five minute before twelve thirty."

"I thought my break was half an hour, not twenty-five minutes!" Felicity had called out, grinning at Moody's scowling look.

With nothing better to do, Felicity decided that she might as well go visit Pandora in St Mungos. Just as she was entering the lifts, a dark haired woman exited it, straightening her back as she stepped out. Felicity couldn't help the sharp intake of breath as she looked at her. Just then, the witch's dark brown eyes met the brunette's hazel ones and no flash of recognition passing through them.

When Felicity stood staring at her, the witch said," Er, do I know you?"

Felicity blinked then shook her head, and Samantha Floris nee Culbert asked concernedly," You alright then? You look a bit pale."

Felicity shook her head again and cleared her throat," Fine, if I may," she murmured, stepping past her older sister and into the lift.

Sam grabbed her arm and bent down, the contact making Felicity flinch," You dropped this," said Sam smoothly, handing her a piece of parchment that contained the schedule Moody had given her that morning.

Felicity took it," Thanks," she said carefully and was about to fully settle herself inside the lift before Sam spoke again, her voice very similar to Jasira's," Are you Felicity Cade then?"

"Yes," said Felicity shortly.

Taken aback at her tone, Sam said," My congratulations on your performance in the dueling practice. It's not often Irena is beaten in a duel."

The older witch looked surprised at the anger in Felicity's eyes as she bit out," Yes, well, she's not perfect." With that the brunette slammed a hand to get the lift started, not meeting Sam's surprised brown eyes and not seeing the hurt in them.

Felicity crossed her arms, glowering at the gates of the lift. Her sister hadn't changed much, but the worry lines had increased, though she still looked not a day above twenty-five even though she was thirty-two. Felicity couldn't quite explain the anger she had felt, after all, Sam didn't know that it was her sister she was congratulating, and her loyalty to her best friend was understandable. Still, Felicity felt the same bitter taste in her mouth every time she thought of how Sam had betrayed her, had known what it was Irena would be doing that night.

The glare directed at the gates was enough to burn a hole as she finally reached the atrium, and a playful voice said," What'd the lift do to you?"

Felicity snapped her head to look at the speaker, not feeling her scowl lessen as she saw Sirius Black. Great. It seemed like today was the day she met all her past friends and family.

"Black," she said sourly.

Sirius looked surprised at her tone and quirked an eyebrow," I didn't annoy you did I?" he said jokingly.

Felicity didn't bother smiling and Sirius said," Moody let you of then?" knowing that Felicity likely wouldn't give him a smile even if all he said was funny.

Felicity nodded," Yeah, few minutes break. Catch you later then," with that, she left him looking a bit confused and exited the lift, heading to the atrium, and hoping she wouldn't meet anyone else whom she knew.

Luckily for her, she left the Ministry undisturbed after that and flooed to the main floor of St Mungos'. The reception area wasn't quite crowded; there were a few patients sitting on chairs, some pacing others looking harassed as they tried to get the healers to listen to them. Felicity was by now used to the noise of the room, after all, she had been a regular visitor of St Mungos for the past few years. Now though, as Felicity Cade, no one really knew her and she waited patiently for the witches in front of her to finish speaking to the receptionist.

"I'm telling you, my son has seventy-nine bones sticking from his back, counted them myself missy!" the witch was arguing with the receptionist, Aria, one who knew Jasira well from their school days.

Aria was looking increasingly annoyed as she said," So you've told me ten times madam. Bring him and take him to the first floor, Creature-Induced Injuries. Now please, you're holding up the line."

The witch opened her mouth to speak but Aria had already beckoned Felicity forward," Good Afternoon, I'd like to see Pandora Lovegood."

Without a hint of recognition Aria said," Afternoon, Pandora Lovegood, spell damage, fourth floor, second room past three corridors on your right."

Felicity frowned," I'd have thought she'd be in the first floor."

Aria shook her head," Turns out it wasn't an artefact she was dealing with. The spell she was trying to invent backfired on her. Lucky Sergey arrived on time. Next please, have a good day miss."

Felicity smiled politely," You too Aria."

Aria looked at her in surprise but Felicity had already moved away, heading to the lifts together with two small boys playing with a copy of the daily prophet. Felicity waited patiently to arrive on the fourth floor, smiling as she heard the two boys arguing with their mother about getting candies from the tea room.

She followed Aria's instructions, ignoring the portraits. She stopped abruptly as she passed a grey coloured door next to a portrait of a witch holding a cup of tea. The room was the same one Aidan had occupied for twelve years before being moved to the Sergey Manor. She hesitated before shaking her head and continuing forward before walking past three corridors. When she reached the second door on her right she knocked before entering.

Pandora Lovegood was sitting propped up on the bed, her long dirty blonde hair messy as she sat talking to a young girl who resembled her in many ways. Similar silvery blue eyes turned to look at the newcomer and Pandora smiled, saying," Hello, a visitor?"

Felicity smiled back and entered, closing the door softly as she walked hesitantly into the room," Hello Pandora, I heard about the incident and thought I would visit."

Pandora nodded, though she looked a bit curious and said, nodding towards the small girl," This is Luna Lovegood, my daughter."

Felicity smiled kindly at the small girl, her eyes softening as she looked at her," Hi Luna."

Luna was quiet as she stared at a spot above Felicity, a look of concentration crossing her dreamy face before getting up and curtseying. She looked at Felicity seriously and said," Hello, Lady Jasira Sergey."

Felicity couldn't help the look of shock and Pandora stared at the newcomer before locking eyes with her daughter, who simply nodded.

"Remove the glamour please, Jasira," said Pandora quietly.

Felicity took out her wand and waved it around her before removing her glasses. Her hair changed to a rich black, nose becoming smaller and the freckles disappeared. Intense brown eyes stared back before she asked," How did you know, Luna?"

"The wrackspurts above your head were the same as those of Lady Sergey's. And no two exact wrackspurts resemble each other," said Luna simply.

Jasira couldn't help smiling," Well, that's a skill that's certainly useful."

Pandora was quiet before saying," What made you save us?"

Jasira's smile faltered," You're my friends."

"How did you know there would be an accident?" Pandora demanded.

Jasira's mind worked furiously to get an answer before looking at Luna and seeing the curiosity there. She hesitated. She couldn't lie. Not to her friend. Especially not to Luna.

"I'm sorry, Pandora, but I can't tell you. I just had this feeling that something might happened," she said softly, hoping her friend would understand.

Pandora studied the woman in front of her before saying," Good, I was excepting a lie. Atleast you're truthful, for that I can understand."

Jasira looked relieved and asked," How are you then?"

The older witch gave a weary smile," Not too bad. The explosion could have killed me had you not arrived. Luna would have been fine, I had cast a protective charm around her so she wouldn't be hurt. Thanks to you, we're both fine."

Jasira nodded," Glad to hear it."

"Lady Sergey, what spell did you cast? I don't remember reading it anywhere," said Luna curiously.

Jasira chuckled," Just Jasira is alright, Luna, and I used Defendo Maledictiones, a spell that absorbs explosions and other spell damages," she explained.

Pandora looked intrigued," Interesting. Are you making more spells then, Jas?"

Jasira grinned," It was the first time I tried it actually, I'm lucky it worked."

Luna, on the other hand said," The spell must have required a lot of magical transfer and energy."

Jasira nodded," It did, you need to have the right amount of control and magic to actually get the spell to work."

"Lady Sergey, do you think it would work against bigger explosions? Say if a house was to explode?" said Luna, her silvery eyes wondering.

Pandora smiled affectionately at her inquisitive daughter.

"Before I answer that, Luna, please call me Jasira, Lady Sergey is too formal," said Jasira, her eyes looking amused.

Luna shook her head," Jasira seems too causal."

"How about Aunt Jasira then? Is that better?" interjected Pandora.

Luna considered before nodding and Pandora asked," Do you mind, Jas?"

Jasira shook her head, smiling," It sounds perfect. Now, defendo maledictiones is complicated, but it would depend on the size of the house. If it were to be used on a house the size of a manor then the witch or wizard casting it would be severely drained, not to mention that unless each corner of the house had a witch or wizard casting the spell, then the spell wouldn't help protect the entire manor. But using it on small houses would be much less complicated and have better chances of the house being fully protected.

"So in conclusion, the spell would work better in a small area than a big one, and if a house was to explode, then only the front part of the house would be absorbed while the rest of the house would be affected. Does that answer your question?"

Luna nodded," Yes, thank you Aunty Jasira."

Jasira couldn't help smiling at how sweet the blonde girl was and nodded at Pandora," What were you trying to make, Pan?"

Pandora gave a rueful smile," Unspeakable stuff, Jas. Top-secret, but I had forgotten how…intense the process could be."

Jasira nodded," Be careful next time, Pandora."

"Anyway, what made you come back to England? Unless I am very much mistaken you were outside Britain," said Pandora.

Jasira nodded," I was in Africa for a while, I came back because of my children."

Pandora gave a loud gasp and Luna looked interested. Jasira smiled slightly as Pandora said, looking dazed at the news," Are they-I," she hesitated and Jasira looked at her sharply.

"They're Aidan's," she said and Pandora nodded.

"I'm sorry, I just wanted to clarify. Oh, Jasira, my congratulations! I'd give you a hug but I can't," gushed Pandora, beaming at the dark haired witch.

Jasira laughed and Luna asked," What are their names?"

"They're twins, Reyna and Rylan," answered Jasira.

"Beautiful names, how old are they, then?" inquired Pandora.

At that Jasira gave her friend a look," they turned eleven in August. They just started Hogwarts."

"Do the others…do they know…?" Pandora trailed off.

Jasira forced herself not to snap," No, only my parents and Aidan know, and Lucy and Matthew."

Pandora looked sad," I assume your kids go by Reyna and Rylan Cade?"

Jasira nodded," Yes, they do," she said quietly.

"Are either of them in Ravenclaw, Aunt Jasira?" asked Luna, tilting her head.

Jasira felt a smile tug at her lips. The blonde always managed to make her smile," No, I'm afraid not, Luna. Rylan's in Gryffindor and Reyna's a Slytherin."

Luna looked a bit disappointed while Pandora simply chuckled," Fits, after all, Lord Sergey was a Slytherin."

Jasira glanced at her watch and yelped. It was ten minutes to twelve thirty. She stood up saying hurriedly," Sorry Pandora, Luna, but I have to dash. I'm in Auror training and Moody gave me a couple minutes break."

Pandora waved her hand," It's fine, though do come visit us sometime. And when the holidays come, bring those twins of yours, I'd like to meet the Sergey twins."

Jasira gave her friend a grin and nodded," Recover soon. Bye Pandora, bye Luna!"

Luna gave her a bright smile and wave as she called," Bye Aunt Jasira."

Jasira gave them a last smile before putting the glamour back in place and hurrying from the room.

Scrimgeour swore as he read the latest report in his office. He scowled before walking towards the Aurors HQ. As soon as he reached there he barked out," Potter! Kingsley! Get your teams ready in five minutes. I've just received message that there's going to be a raid in one of the villages quarter to two. We need to be there an hour to prepare."

He caught sight of Felicity rushing to training room 3 and nodded to Moody," Bring her as well. She'll be in Potter's team."

"She's not fully qualified yet sir," protested Remus.

Scrimgeour glared at him," We need all the help we can get. She's got skill, and she can prove herself."

"She gets hurt it'll be your fault," scowled Sirius.

"She gets hurt it'll be an insight on being an Auror," he growled.

He made to leave but Moody grabbed his arm," No unqualified Auror should go on a mission."

Scrimgeour merely said," Bring Cade in."

With glowers from the other Aurors he left the room and Moody snapped," Royston! Bring Cade in. Tell her there's been a change of plans."

Royston nodded and left the room.

James looked troubled as he said," Another muggle village. That's the third one in two months."

"Bet the death eaters just wanted to have some fun," said Marlene darkly.

"It seems like they're itching to hurt people," said Frank in disgust.

Remus sighed," We'd better get ready, it won't be pretty."

Just then Royston came in with a confused looking Felicity. The young woman headed straight towards Moody," Training's cancelled then?" she said, getting straight to the point.

Moody nodded," We'll resume tomorrow."

Remus studied her," You don't look scared," he remarked.

Felicity turned to face him," Am I supposed to?"

"You better. These are death eaters we'll be facing, and they won't hesitate in using the unforgivables," warned Frank.

Felicity hesitated before saying," I heard of a spell Jasira Culbert made, the full shield charm."

At once the atmosphere became gloomier than before and Irena said," Yes, Jasira Sergey, did make the spell. What about it?" the extra emphasis on Sergey was not missed by anyone.

A smile crossed Felicity's face before it was gone," I thought it could defend against two of the unforgivables."

"It's not an easy spell," grunted James.

"But it does. Tell me, Cade, can you cast the full shield charm?" said Moody quietly.

Felicity didn't seem to hesitate as she said coolly," No, my magic is not quite advanced."

She didn't give them a chance to differ as she turned to them," Whose team am I to be in?"

"Mine. Irena, Remus, Sirius, Frank, Alice, Hector, Connor…" James continued calling out names until there were exactly twenty five of them.

Kingsley's group held the same number, leaving thirty for reinforcements if need be. Felicity noted that the numbers were more than twelve years ago, which atleast was an improvement. When Scrimgeour returned, he scanned the two teams before nodding," Let's go. Make sure you have everything you need. Cade, stay close to Potter and Kingsley. Our goal is to capture as many death eaters as we can. You see a person being tortured, protect, and do not hesitate in cursing the enemies. Understood?"

It disturbed Felicity the way he said 'cursing', almost like 'killing'. Felicity would do what she could, but she wouldn't kill anyone, not if she could help it. It went against what she stood for.

The others nodded, though some like the Marauders were eyeing Scrimgeour in distaste but said nothing. Atleast she wasn't the only who didn't like the Head Auror's ways of leading.

Two days ago

Tom Riddle stood listening to the report as the death eater stood reporting it. After he was done, he signaled for him to leave, and the man left, thankful not to have been subject to the cruciatus curse.

So, the legendary Jasira Sergey had come back to England, if only to save the life of one of her petty blood traitor friend, he mused. It seemed like his attempt to kill Pandora Lovegood had failed, and if what his spy had told him was true, by a spell not known to any wizard but the Lady Sergey.

Tom felt his mouth curve into a snarl at the thought of the powerful witch refusing to join his rank. He still remembered the powerful slap he had received at the hands of the woman, and the memory caused him to want to tear the woman apart. The death eaters stationed at the doors flinched as Voldemort raised his wand at the vase next to him, watching in satisfaction as it was blasted apart wandlessly and non-verbally.

The memory of his first encounter with the woman flashed in his eyes.

1978

"Well, well, if it isn't the Deputy Head Girl of Hogwarts," said Voldemort softly, appearing behind the seventeen-year-old in Hogsmeade.

Jasira gasped and turned around, pointing her wand at him and saying in a barely controlled voice," Tom, finally decided to step out of hiding I see. What's wrong, scared to look like a coward?" she mocked.

Voldemort's lip curled and he said," I'd watch the mouth little girl. Daddy's not here to protect you."

Jasira merely looked amused," I don't need my father to protect me from a coward, thanks," she eyed him before commenting," I see you go nowhere without your bodyguards. What's wrong, afraid you're going to lose?"

She had barely finished her sentence before being thrown violently and crashing into one of the village benches. Tom heard a distant cry of," JASIRA!" but he simply moved forward, batting up the spell the young witch threw at her easily.

Jasira got up, not showing a single care to the flowing of blood from her head and the pain in her back as she spat," Go on then, what are you here for? What's your main purpose?"

Voldemort was quiet before saying," Such bravado, such resilience, I could do with someone like you in my ranks. Think about it, Miss Culbert, fame, power...wealth, you will find all that if you join me. do you not want to show everyone the power you possess? To clear the Wizarding World of the taint that has spread?"

Jasira was staring at him and then laughed," My dear Tom, no, don't give me those eyes, that's your name like it or not, and thanks for the offer, though it's not the slightest bit tempting. I wouldn't want to join a murderer if it was the last thing I did. And for the record, the only taint the Wizarding World has is of people like you, people who don't know good from bad, right from wrong. You're mad, or that's the direction you're going towards from the looks of it."

Voldemort's eyes flashed before throwing a spell at her, but this time Jasira was ready. She blocked it easily and threw not one but five spells in quick succession at him. Voldemort was forced to put up a shield charm and growled as more Hogwarts students, including the foolish Potter and Black heir joined their friend.

His red eyed locked with Jasira's brown eyes as he threw Sirius backwards and fired a bone breaking spell at James, who screamed as it made contact. Jasira didn't pause as she continued to battle him and the dark wizard was shocked to see the look of pleading, of sadness and pity as the witch said," You've gone too far, but it's not too late to change, Tom. Stop this. You're only going to end yourself."

Voldemort had only snarled," The day will come when you will eat the words that come out of your mouth."

Jasira's eyes turned stormy," If you say so. FLIPENDO! EXPELLIARMUS! STUPEFY!" all the spells were aimed behind him and Voldemort smirked at her, before it fell as he realized why she had aimed behind him. He was surrounded by the Hogwarts students who had been fighting his death eaters, death eaters who were now lying on the ground thanks to Jasira Culbert.

Just as he was glaring at her, he caught sight of Dumbledore appearing and with another snarl, waved his wand at his death eaters before disapparating and taking them with him.

He was glaring a hole in the wall as the memory passed before coming back to the issue of the Lovegood. It seems like the petrification of her husband had not stopped the Lady Sergey from coming back to England. Good. Voldemort needed a plan to lure her so she could be trapped without anyone saving her.

"Lucius," he said softly, calling the man who had been standing to his left forward.

The blonde haired man raised his eyes and nodded respectfully.

Voldemort smiled cruelly," Organize a raid in one of the villages that they love so much two days from today. Grab Jasira Sergey as soon as she is seen."

Lucius looked surprised and said cautiously," She is back in England then?"

Voldemort looked at him thoughtfully," She will be back once she hears of the attack. Get Bella to lead them. Make sure it is successful. Send a tip to the Ministry telling them the raid will take place at two, but it should start thirty minutes before. Is that understood?"

"Yes," Lucius gave another nod before leaving the dark room.

Voldemort sat back, a smirk playing at his lips. Good. It would only be a matter of time before she was captured.

Current

As soon as the Aurors apparated to the little village, prepared to start positioning themselves for the attacks, spells were thrown at them. With similar looks of shock on their faces, those Aurors who were quick conjured up shield charms to absorb the spells thrown at them.

Felicity swore under her breath as she eyed the scene, taking shelter quickly behind a stray roof that had been taken down.

It wasn't pretty. People were screaming as their shops were attacked and Felicity glimpsed some houses on fire, with the occupants running frantically and trying to help themselves. James and Sirius were dueling furiously with two death eaters each, and winning, but some of the other Aurors weren't so lucky.

Felicity watched as slowly, the death eaters started winning, having gotten the upper hand at surprising the Auror. Her eyes widened as she saw a death eater point his wand at an unsuspecting Dimitri-and, no matter how many times Felicity told herself she no longer cared about them- she couldn't stop the feeling of rage that came over her and without hesitating, pulled out her wand and pointed it at the death eater with a muttered," Expelliarmus!"

The death eater watched in surprise as his wand zoomed in another direction, straight in the brunette's outstretched hand. His eyes widened as he met hazel eyes filled with rage and Felicity, nonverbally cast the stupefy spell at him. Wordlessly he fell to the ground. Not taking any chances Felicity pointed his wand at him, ducking as a spell shot at her head and muttered," Incarcerous!" for extra measure she charmed him to the ground so he couldn't be moved.

"Nice one!" shouted James, having finally defeated his two death eaters. He pointed at a house and yelled," Go help them! I think there's a fire inside. Sirius and I will take care of the others."

Felicity nodded before sprinting off to that direction, praying she would be able to save the lives of the people.

Bellatrix Lestrange's lip curled cruelly as she watched the mother in front of her shield her children. She chuckled as the stupid woman looked at her defiantly as she said," Go on! Kill me then, you murderer, and see if you won't end up the same way."

It amused the female death eater how the kids cried and the little girl tried with no avail to stop the tears from her small brother's face. Bellatrix took out her wand, saying in her mock baby voice," I'd watch the tongue, little mummy. Wouldn't want the kids to see their mother-ah, die in front of their eyes, do you now?"

Despite her defiance, fear was visible in the woman's eyes but she stood her ground, though now she said pleadingly," Let my kids go, they've done nothing to you. They're just children."

Bellatrix laughed before sending a stinging spell at the mother, whose wand was broken in pieces under her feet. With a shriek from the children, the woman clutched at her face, which was swelling rapidly and her eyes welled with tears as Bellatrix stepped forward, hissing," Join the Dark Lord, that's the only way out!"

With tears running freely, the woman shook her head, ignoring her daughter's cry of," Mum, mum!" the woman spat out," I wouldn't join that foul man if it was the last thing in the world!"

Bellatrix's eyes flashed murderously as she hissed," Avada-"her spell was cut off as the children screamed and she was thrown violently into the air, hitting the wall with a bang and landing heavily. She glared at the person who had entered, now looking at her with a mixed expression that took her by surprise. It was filled with loathing-Bella was well accustomed to that look by many people, but there was also pity and sadness, almost as though the woman knew her personally.

The woman, an Auror by the looks of it barely spared more than 2 minutes before she turned to the three people and, with a swift look shot a spell at the mother, whose face started clearing rapidly, though it wasn't fully cleared yet.

"Do you have a portkey to get you out of here?" she asked urgently, casting a quick look at the fallen death eater who had now fallen unconscious.

"Th-thank you, my husband, he-"the woman's voice chocked and Felicity felt her heart break. Here was another woman who had also lost her husband.

"We'll find him and contact you. Do you know where he was last?" she asked gently.

The woman shook her head," We were just in the kitchen, eating lunch when we heard the noise. He had gone out to help but then she came and started attacking us."

Felicity's face was blank but she said quickly," I'll send you to St Mungo's for now and you'll receive a message when everything's all clear. You can get a new wand from Ollivander's once it's all safe."

The woman nodded, watching with a slightly scared face as Felicity grabbed a spoon and muttered the activation charm before handing to her.

"It'll go off in 10 seconds. Hold on tight, all three of you," she ordered.

She was just turning to go to Bellatrix when the woman grabbed her arm," Thank you," she whispered," If it hadn't been for you we'd all be dead now."

Felicity gave her an awkward smile," It's a duty," she nodded at the spoon," Hold tight."

Her words were just out when the three of them disappeared with a flash. With a sudden cry, Felicity dropped to the ground as she grabbed her left leg. It was broken. She turned around to face Bellatrix, whose eyes were filled with malice as she said," You'll regret that. You made me lose my prey."

Felicity looked at the woman, refusing to let any tears show. Bellatrix hadn't changed much since their schooldays. She was still slim and beautiful, with her long dark curls and heavy lidded eye that made her look a bit mad. Her mouth was curled in her signature sneer as her eyes looked at Felicity scornfully.

"Well, atleast you admit you're an animal," she bit out finally, gritting her teeth before throwing a spell at her.

Bellatrix seemed to have been anticipating that for she lazily conjured up a shield. Her eyes were now sporting an amused look as she looked at the woman," Not bad are we? Tell me, who are you?" she demanded.

Felicity didn't respond, she threw five spells without stopping at the death eater, forcing her to conjure a shield charm powerful enough to deflect them. Without a breath, she wandlessly conjured a crutch for her to use, scowling at herself for letting her be taken unaware.

Bellatrix's eyes were looking surprised before they hardened. Felicity felt a trickle of unease as she tried futilely to get up. She knew that look, and it usually came with something bad. Just as she thought, Bellatrix yelled something that she couldn't catch, and instinctively Felicity threw herself to the ground, letting out a cry as she landed on her leg. She couldn't regret her actions as the very place where her head had once been, right in front of a wall, was now a gaping hole. The kitchen shook from the force of the explosion and hazily Felicity watched as Bellatrix eyed her with a slightly shocked and angry look before a smirk crossed her face. Without another word, she disapparated from the spot.

Just then Marlene and Frank came running in, looking around frantically before the former let out a horrified gasp and hurried to Felicity.

"You alright Cade?" she asked, swiftly checking her before noticing the leg. She winced," Better get you to a healer. That looks bad."

Felicity bit back a smart retort and instead addressed Frank, deliberately ignoring Marlene," What happened? Is the attack still going?"

Frank frowned," No, all the death eaters have gone."

Felicity eyed him," You don't look happy."

Annoyed, Lord Longbottom said curtly," Every Auror needs to give a report when they get back. Marlene will take you to a healer at the Ministry, then you come back to the office to give your report."

With that he left, an angry look on his face. Scowling at his rudeness, ignoring the voice telling her she had also been rude herself at Marlene, and her leg not helping matters, her temper was high.

Marlene eyed her a bit apprehensively before saying quietly," His wife, Alice, was hurt during the battle and he blames himself. Give him some time to cool down."

Felicity couldn't stop herself from asking," She okay?"

Marlene nodded, looking worn out," She will be," she glanced at her leg," You want to disapparated or use a portkey?"

Felicity grimaced as she felt the pain start again and gasped out," Portkey's fine."

With a worried look, Marlene summoned a small ball and tapped her wand onto it, muttering a spell. She gave it to the brunette and in three seconds, Felicity was gone.

The dark room was silent as the Death Eaters stood in a semi-circle, heads bowed. Voldemort was seated in his throne like chair, head held high and back straight. Ruby eyes scanned the room before he said softly," Lucius."

Immediately the Lord Malfoy stepped forward, his blonde ponytail swishing slightly as he stopped before Voldemort.

"Your report," ordered Voldemort.

Lucius shook his head, only his eyes showing the nervousness he felt as he said," She was not there. All the Aurors appeared of course, but throughout the battle Jasira Sergey was not to be seen."

Tentatively he looked up and saw the annoyed look in Voldemort's face as he said," How many did we lose?"

"Out of sixty, we lost five. 2 imprisoned, 3 dead," reported Lucius.

The annoyance increased as Tom hissed," They are fools to be caught. I assume they are still held in the Ministry?"

Lucius nodded.

After a few minutes of silence Voldemort said," No new arrival? Nothing of interest to add?"

The tone was enough to say he better have something to add. It was Bellatrix though who next spoke, and her voice was breathless and awed, as though she had been waiting to speak.

"Yes, Bella?" Voldemort asked the witch, glancing at her eager face.

Bellatrix walked forwards quickly," My Lord, there has been a new arrival in the Auror force."

Lucius couldn't help the sneer as he said," And what good is that, Bellatrix? A new Auror is nothing of importance."

Voldemort flicked his eyes to the remaining death eaters, before motioning them to leave. Without another word they left, the door closing softly. The Dark Lord nodded at Bellatrix," I agree with Lucius. What is so important about a new arrival?"

Bellatrix couldn't help throwing Lucius a disgruntled look but she continued, though less eager," My Lord, the newest Auror, seemed a bit…familiar. She seemed to have it in for me the minute she arrived though as far as I know we have never met."

Voldemort couldn't help the low chuckle that only the female death eater could take out as he said," Bella, everyone has it in for you."

Bellatrix sounded smug," I know, but it was her power behind the spells she casted. She did not seem tired out though she used around five spells without stopping."

Voldemort raised an eyebrow," A powerful Auror, not much of a surprise. Disappointing, I expected better news."

Bellatrix flushed as Lucius smirked. It wasn't often Bellatrix was embarrassed by Voldemort. The Dark Lord fingered his wand before snapping," Leave. Another raid will be organized in a months' time, and this time I expect no one to be captured. Whoever is foolish enough to be taken in by the Aurors, shall find their time much more fun in an interrogation cell than behind my wand."

The two death eaters grimaced but nodded and left.
