Gus and Luz move onto the next training, which is ninjutsu training with Kotoha, Luz adored the time she spent with her. Just like Azura and Hecate became friends with their fierce rivalry behind them, she feels as if the same is happening with the young kunoichi, but from Gus's perspective, he was actually terrified of her.
Flashback to their first day meeting, he was amazed by the amazing techniques that these "ninjas' ' could use, but observing Kotoha's use of ninjutsu, and almost killing Luz, Gus was struck by fear. Thinking that if one day he has to fight her. It was only going to mean one thing. He was going to die. Both leave the base and head to the forest area, only to find Kotoha waiting for them]
Kotoha: *serious* It's about damn time! I mean you could have gotten here at least five minutes earlier.
Luz: But it's only five minutes till our training session.
Kotoha: Shut up! If you two want to take this seriously then it's better to be extra early. *groans* you know what let's just begin.
[Kotoha stand before Gus and Luz]
Kotoha: Today we are going to practice making Shadow Clones. It's one of the simplest techniques. That any rookie ninja can perform. Now watch closely.
[Kotoha focuses her aura to slowly flow from her body. She forms signs with her hands]
Kotoha: Illusion Style, Shadow Clone.
[A shadow Clone appears next to her]
Kotoha: Now you guys try.
[Luz copies the same technique]

[A copy of her appears beside her]

[Gus then proceeds to do the same, but something went wrong for him]

[The Shadow Clone that appeared beside looked perfect, a little too perfect]
Gus: YES! Nailed it!
Luz: Nice one Gus!
[Luz high fives Gus, but Kotoha looks closer the Clone]
Kotoha: Hold on a second!
[Both stop from cheering, to see that Kotoha is investigates the clone, she touches it chest]
Kotoha: You used Illusion magic you idiot.
Gus: What that's impossible!
Kotoha: I'm not lying, I can sense more magic than Aura. And without a strong aura to back up your clone.
[Kotoha performs a spinning back kick, poofing the clone]
Kotoha: You'll be an easy target.
[Gus, looks down in disappointment]
Luz: Hey don't sweat it, I'm pretty sure you'll get it right the next time.
[Luz and Gus learn multiple techniques, Luz masters at least 50 percent of them due to her Mind Share ability and seeing almost all of Kotoha's arsenal. But Gus no matter what he used, it was all the same mistake, it was mostly magic infused with the chakra.]
Kotoha: UGH! Hey Twerp! Have you ever tried using anything without magic?
Gus: Well all I've ever done was Illusion magic. The stuff I've done that was without magic, was learning about humans and sharing them with the human appreciation society.
[Kotoha raises her eyebrow]
Kotoha: Human Appreciation Society? *tch* That sounds dumb.
[Gus looks down in disappointment once more]
Kotoha: Let's just continue tomorrow, hit the showers.
[Kotoha walks away, with Gus watching her, when he sees her, he sees that she was kind of a bully to them when they met her, but what could he do, if he were to piss him off, she can kill him]
Gus: *sigh*
[The end of the day, Gus lies down on his bed trying to rethink his way of life. Has he been using magic too often? Sometimes it goes out of control and his clones don't listen to him, but that didn't make him use it too much? But if Kotoha was wrong about one thing, is that the Human Appreciation Soceity wasn't dumb. But Gus had a lot on his plate today, right now he had to figure out how to improve his ninjutsu]
Gus: *sigh* What am i going to do?
[Gus then sits up, and tries to meditate, but his head is filled so many thoughts, he moans, and rolls on his bead]
Gus: Maybe I need to study more of this. But how?
[Gus tries to think of ideas. And a lightbulb lit in his head, and he snaps his finger]
Gus: That's it! Shatter Squad's home has a library, maybe they have books on ninjutsu! But how to get in?
[Minutes laters, he and Luz are in front of the Bases force field]
Luz: *yawn* *tired* So you brought me here, to open the barrier, so you can get your hands on ninjutsu books?
Gus: When you put it that way yes.
Luz: Gus it's 11 pm and we really have to wake up early.
Gus: It will be quick, trust me, nothing bad will happen. Now please open the barrier.
Luz: *sigh* alright, *smiles* anything for you.
[Luz focuses hard enough, it's hard to unlock her chakra abilities when all she was doing was martial arts training but somehow she had enough energy to open the force field surrounding the base]
Gus: Yes, let's do this!
[Gus and Luz enter the base, they try to sneak around as quiet as possible, that is until they run into apollo]
apollo: Luz? Gus?
[Both Gus and Luz scream, but apollo tells them to shush, because everyone else is probably sleeping.]
apollo: *Whispers* *confused* What are you two doing here? Do you realize what time it is?
Gus: *Whispers* *convincing* Yes we are aware of the time? We are just here to grab some books on ninjutsu. If you have those?
[apollo raises his eyebrows, and shrugs his shoulders]
apollo: *Whispers* Well I can take you to the library. But you owe me one.
[Gus then nodded and grabbed Luz his hand]
Gus: Lead the way!
[Gus gestures for apollo to walk ahead, and they walk to the library, all of them enter, and see a room filled with books of various genres.]
Gus: WHOA! Are all of these books from the Human world?!
apollo: Yeah, some of the guys except for me, like to do a little reading from time to time.
[Gus glances at every book he laid his eyes upon. But he shook his head and remembered]
Gus: Dang it Gus, remember why you are here!
[He turns his attention to apollo
Gus: Where are the books on Ninjutsu?
[Raymond points to the center shelf]
Raymond: Center shelf, aisle three.
[Gus then makes his way to aisle three and walks up the ladder to the center shelf, after a bit of looking, he finds the books on Ninjutsu, and grabs a bunch]
Gus: YES! YOU DID IT GUS!
[Gus brings the books to the table]
Gus: Where to start?
[apollo then gets Gus's attention]
Raymond: Hey Gus, what are you trying to do anyway?
Gus: Well according to Kotoha, she says I put my magic in most of my ninjutsu. And Luz said that I shouldn't be too hard on myself, right Luz?
[He turns to Luz only to find her sleeping on the table.]
Gus: And she's asleep. Well time to get to studying.
apollo: You know there is a way to find out what kind of Ninjutsu you could specialize in.
Gus: Hmm? What do you mean?
[apollo grabs a book called Ninjutsu basics, and turns to a certain section]
apollo: It says here that in if you want to find out which one of the seven jutsus you specialize in, you need to do the leaf experiment.
Gus: First question: what are the seven types of Jutsus?
apollo: Well, there is fire, water, lightning, earth, wind, God, and Yokai.
Gus: So many questions! What's God and Yokai ninjutsu?
apolla: Well God ninjutsu is basically using the five main elements, while yokai ninjutsu.
[apollo turns the pages, and finds it]
apollo: Uses the power of Yokai. Like an unawakened Spirit Power.
Gus: Another question. What's a "yokai"?
apollo: Well A yokai is basically a japanese monster, like a mythical creature that appears in some cases.
Gus: Japanese?
apollo: You know what I'm not answering all these questions. Let's just do this.
[apollo turns back to the page where he found the leaf test]
Gus: Wait how do you know so much? I thought you said you hated reading.
apollo: Dude I read all these books when I was four.
Gus: WAIT WHAT?! There has gotta be like more than a thousand books in here.
apollo: 3 thousand, 4 hundred, and eighty seven if I'm correct. From books like encyclopedias, history books, fairy tales, novels, book series, biographies, autobiographies, mythological, educational books, books on technology, philosophy, mythical stories, martial arts books, along with ten books on ninjutsu.
[Gus widens his eyes with his mouth open]
Gus: How do you...what did you do as a child?
apollo: Forget about that. Let's do this dude.
[apollo grabs a beaker, fills it up with water and puts a leaf on top of it]
Gus: So let's run this down. How does this work again?
apollo: Simple. You focus your energy on this lead, and try to surround the water with your chakra. If the water boils, you use fire, if the water overflows, you're a water user, if the leaf splits apart, lightning, if it flies out of the water, wind. If the leaf sinks, then it's earth. If it turns sweet then you are a God user.
Gus: What about Yokai?
apollo: Yeah I never actually got to read up on that.
Gus: *shocked* You said you read all the books here?!
apollo: Well from what I have heard from Kotoha, it's rare for a yokai user to appear, so they are not sure what happens if you are a yokai user. Anyway let's do this.
[Gus gulps, and hovers his hands over the beaker full of water, he takes a deep breath, and closes his eyes]
Gus: (Okay Gus remember what apollo said, focus your energy on the leaf, and put your aura into the water, and whatever happens will happen).
[Gus focuses his chakra into the water, ripples begin to form and Gus's body was surrounded in a blue area]
apollo: So far so good.
[Gus continues to focus on the leaf. The leaf starts to shake.]
apollo: The lead is shaking, probably wind or lightning.
[Then the lead suddenly lights itself on fire]
apollo: *surprised* WHOA! *terrified* That's not right!
[The fire turns green. And the whole lead sets a blaze]
apollo: *terrified* AGH! Gus!
Gus: *Terrified* AGH! What's happening?!
[Luz woken up by their screams, struggles to open her eyes]
Luz: *yawn* guys...is everything oka..
[Luz then sees the green fire in the middle of the room]
Luz: What are you two doing?!
[In Kotoha's room a wave of energy suddenly woke her up from her slumber]
Kotoha: *gasp* (This energy, where is it coming from?!)
[she then leaves her room and tracks down the sudden surge of power]
Kotoha: (From the library, feels like someone is doing a leaf test)
[Kotoha continues running towards the library, she continues to feel the power grow, and thinks to herself]
Kotoha: (Is this a God ninjutsu, no it doesn't feel like that. This feels like my mother's.)
[Back to Gus and co.]
apollo: Someone put the fire out!
[Luz grabs a nearby fire extinguisher, and attempts to put it out, only forcing it to grow more]
Luz: AGH!
[Kotoha gets closer the library]
Kotoha: (If it feels like my mother's then it has to be..)
[Kotoha goes to the entrance and sees the water turn to fire, causing it to explode, pushing everyone back except for Gus, the fire dies down, only to reveal a dog like figure]
Gus: Huh?
[only this didn't look like a dog. It had the head of a monkey, the legs of a tiger, the body of a dog, and the front half of a snake for a tail, and was also very tiny. Gus inches closer to it, and kneel down, the little creature shakes of the ash, revealing something Gus has never seen before]
Gus: hello?
[The little creature looks at Gus, and the first thing it does is lie down on his leg]
Gus: *relief* Huh.
[Kotoha looks at him]
Kotoha: (this is Yokai Ninjustu.)
[the next morning,
Chris came to help gus with his training.
Gus sits down with Chris and Kotoha to discuss what happening in the library]
chris: Doing a leaf test at that time of day. I mean leaf tests aren't supposed to do any harm, but you almost set the library on fire.
Gus: *sad* I'm sorry Chris it won't happen again!
Chris: I'm not talking about that, you almost put yourself in danger. If something like that was going to happen, you should have had at least one of us there to supervise you.
apollo: Actually I was there.
chris: I'll get to you later.
Gus: *sad* Look Chris it wasn't his fault, I wanted to study ninjutsu and he suggested that I should find what I'm capable of.
Luz: Plus I let him in here.
[Chris then looks down]
chris: Well it was his idea. So I'll come up with a punishment later for all of you. And Luz. Anyway, let's just figure out what happened. So you did a leaf test, and you summoned a creature you said.
[Gus nods, and picks up the creature]
Gus: Yeah this guy.
[Chris. looks closer, but Kotoha interrupted him]
Kotoha: You summoned a Yokai.
[everyone turns their attention to Kotoha]
Kotoha: When you did the leaf test, you summoned a Yokai, and this particular Yokai is one of the four legendary Yokai.
Gus: There are four?
Kotoha: Kurobozu, Shuten Doji, Tamama no Mae, and then there is this one. Nue.
[Everyone looks at the little creature wagging its snake tail]
Gus: So what they are legendary because they were heroes or...
Kotoha: They were legendary because they were the most powerful, and being the most powerful made them the most dangerous.
Gus: Oh.
Kotoha: So Gus, if you're going to use this, you'll need to be extra careful.
Gus: Uhm I mean I co...
[Kotoha bangs her arm on the table]
Kotoha: Listen to me you little dumbass, this yokai is very hard to tame, so if you think this little guy will obey you. Then you need to prove it to him!
[chris. raises his eyebrow]
Kotoha: *serious* So from now on, I won't be going easy on you.
[Kotoha walks out of the room]
apollo: What was that about?
[Everyone discusses Kotoha's attitude, while Gus looks down and takes a good look at the Creature called nue]
Gus: (Nue?) Hmm.
[So for the next few weeks, Kotoha wasn't lying, she did not go easy on Gus. Whenever they would have ninjutsu training, Gus was forced to study advanced techniques in the basics book. Whenever they would jog, Gus was forced to go 10 extra laps, with wrist weights, she also made him do multiple exercises, and practice fighting techniques on a tree, after the next few weeks, Gus fell down, and Nue licks his face.]
Luz: *worried* GUS!
Kotoha: What are you doing?!
Gus: What does it look like I'm doing, I feel like I'm dying thanks to this!
Kotoha: *strict* You're dying?! you are not going to be a powerful warrior if you say you're dying!
Gus: Well it's just ever since I got Nue, you have been going a little hard on me.
Kotoha: No I haven't!
Luz: Kotoha! Yes you have! Look at him, you've been making his training extra hard! Look at him, he's not in good shape to keep this up!
[Gus listens to Luz's words, and looks down in disappointment]
Kotoha: Luz this is not your problem!
Luz: It is my problem! You're hurting my friend!
Kotoha: Well why doesn't he just stand up for himself! And if you are his friend, maybe you would want him to get stronger!
Luz: Not like this!
[Gus continues to listen to their arguments, tries to cover his ears, and after a few more seconds he finally has enough, he decides to yell and a green flame, flares up around him]
Gus: Enough! I can't listen to this anymore!
[Gus runs away crying!]
Luz: Gus!
[Luz grabs his arms but he shrugs it off and runs into the forest]
Kotoha: Great now look what you did!
Luz: ME?! IT WASN'T ME WHO PUT HIM UNDER ALL THAT PRESSURE! IS THIS BECAUSE OF WHAT HAPPENED TO YOUR MOTHER?!
[Triggered hearing those words, and reminding herself that Luz was in her thoughts, she grits her teeth and grabs Luz by the collar]
Kotoha: *angered* Don't you dare tell me about my mother! Just because you were in my thoughts doesn't mean you understand me!
[Kotoha forces her hand off, sits down on a rock and rubs her temples]
Kotoha: *sigh*
[Luz sits down next to her]
Luz: You're mom was a Yokai user too, wasn't she?
[Kotoha nods her head]
Kotoha: Yes! She possessed the legendary yokai, Kyuubi no Kitsune. The Nine Tailed Fox. The second strongest of the four.
Luz: Your mom was that powerful?
Kotoha: She wasn't strong enough to beat One.
[Luz then remembers from Kotoha's memories that One was the person who killed her mother]
Luz: Oh...
[Luz looks down to the side in remorse]
Luz: I don't get it though. Why are you so hard on Gus?!
Kotoha: I have my reasons.
[Kotoha curls up one leg and lays out the other, Luz rubs her chin and then has a realisation]
Luz: Is it because you think One might go after him?
[Kotoha does not respond]
Luz: You think because he had the power of the four legendary Yokai One might go after him and kill him, so you're training him to fight back in case that day comes.
[Kotoha does not respond again, and looks at Luz]
Luz: So it's that.
[Kotoha pretends to ignore the idea, but since Luz was inside her mind she would have to open up to her anyway, she already know all her secrets]
Kotoha: It's not just that.
[Luz surprised that Kotoha is responding to her]
Kotoha: It's just since i never trained anyone before, I thought maybe I could "try" my hardest to toughen the little guy up, because you gotta admit Gus is easily terrified.
[Kotoha chuckles a little bit, but Luz then shakes her head, she stops and just faces the other direction.]
Kotoha: Anyway, I don't know what to do at times most of my life. I've kicked the crap out of people. I don't even try to learn stuff from them because I think it will get in my way.
[Luz grabs a pencil and paper]
Luz: Well the first thing you should do is try to understand from Gus's point of view.
[Luz makes a glyph]
Luz: Try to be friends with him and get him to open up.
[She taps the paper, and a light forms]
Luz: And then, you'll get to see the light within him.
[Luz gives her the paper]
Luz: You try.
[Kotoha then grabs the paper, creates a perfect light glyph, taps it and forms a light ball]
Kotoha: Like that?
Luz: Exactly.
Kotoha: Okay so what do you suggest I do? I've never had to comfort anyone before.
Luz: I think I can help you with that.
[When Luz and Kotoha arrive to where Gus ran off, they eventually find him, but what they see before their eyes gives them the biggest shock of their lives.]
Kotoha: Oh my..
Luz: WHOA!
[The first thing they see are multiple shadow clones made by Gus. flashback to when Gus ran off]
Gus: *sad* Titan, why is this so hard?!
[Nue decides to sit next to Gus, he looks at him, sighs and picks him up]
Gus: You'd be able to understand. Would you? *sigh* what do you know, you're a spirit.
Nue: (A spirit that has more knowledge than you)
[Gus's ears twitch, and puts Nue down]
Gus: *shocked* Who said that?!
[Gus observes the area, searching for the one who spoke]
Nue: (The only thing that can help you out in this situation.)
[Gus looks down and sees that Nue was communicating with him using telepathy]
Gus: AGH! YOU CAN TALK?!
[Nue sighs, and crawls towards him]
Nue: (Not orally, but telepathically. You can save the questions for later though, right now let's work on this problem.
[Gus with his mouth down and eyes widened, he closes his mouth]
Gus: *gulp* *awkward* okay.
Nue: (So you say you have issues with Kotoha's training?)
[Gus sits with his legs crossed]
Gus: I mean it's not a big deal.
Nue: (Be honest little one, and tell the truth)
[Gus sighs and just let's it all out]
Gus: Well first off, you can't expect me to memorize all these basic techniques and expect me to practice without the use of my magic! That's hard! Plus telling me to go jog ten extra laps is a bit over the top if I must say so myself, I'm not the athletic type! I'm a man of showmanship! Plus telling me that the Human Appreciation Society is dumb actually hurts! I created it because I loved to share the love of studying the human realm, but after it was taken, I never got the chance to go back in! And now I can't really talk about it to anyone! Plus I can stand up for myself! I don't need everyone treating me like I'm a little kid, I mean sure people think I'm cocky, but I really work hard!
[gus keeps talking, and Nue raises his eyebrow, and decides to put his paw over his mouth]
Nue: (Okay, Gus was it?)
[Gus nods]
Nue: (I'm going to be as honest as possible when it comes to this)
[Gus listens, and Nue puts his paw down]
Nue: (Basically you have a problem with standing up to others. I mean from what I've seen in your memories you helped your friend Willow stand up to Boscha. But every moment before that, you would let people push you around because you were younger than everyone else. You lost your presidency to the human appreciation society to a person with less knowledge than you. You let your friend Luz battle Kotoha when she talked down to her. And you also let the destruction of your flags ruin your chances at helping your friend.)
Gus: Where are you going with this?
[Nue takes a deep breath]
Nue: *sigh* (I am saying you let yourself be pushed around too much, to the point where you even lost things. And right now, you're letting Kotoha push you around, people have feelings, Gus.)
Gus: But I want to get strong! To help Luz!
Nue: (But at what cost, you're hurting yourself. Just a few weeks of training with Kotoha won't be enough, her mother took months before she got into fighting shape)
[Gus then hears the words "her mother")
Gus: What do you mean her mom?
Nue: *sigh* (When Kotoha's mom was young her Spirit Power was a friend of mine. Kyuubi No Kitsune, she was very hard to tame around that time because Kyuubi wouldn't acknowledge her.)
Gus: Because?
Nue: (Because she didn't have her resolve. And it took her months to find out what she wanted to do. From you I've learned that so far you want to protect Luz, but that won't be enough! Because you being pushed around I don't see you as a worthy user of my power, and that's why I don't think you are ready.)
Gus: What? But I can handle your power, you showed yourself to me.
Nue: (Because when a Legendary Yokai appears during a leaf test, they believe the chosen ninja has much potential. But you waste it.)
[Gus looks down once more in sadness]
Gus: Well what do you suggest I do?
Nue: (It's not what I want you to do. What do you want to do? I chose you for a reason, so I want to see it. )
[Gus thinks to himself, and comes up with a reason, but he can't think of anything]
Gus: I can't think of anything!
Nue: (Okay let's try something.)
[Nue eyes glow and the plane of existence changes]
Gus: *Shocked* WHOA! WHAT DID YOU DO?!
Nue: (Simple, I brought us to the Spirit realm from your brain)
[Gus sees his body meditating]
Gus: *Shocked* IS THAT ME?!
[Nue walks up next to him]
Nue: Indeed, we will be spending 15 months here.
Gus: *SHOCKED* WHAT?! I DON'T HAVE THAT KIND OF TIME!
Nue: (Relax child, 15 months here is like 5 minutes of your realm. So for we can work on everything you need to work on, and maybe you can figure out what you want to do. So let's get started. Besides Spirits don't age.)
Gus: *sigh* Alright let's get started.
[For the first month Gus trains in hand to hand combat, Nue teaches him different fighting styles that can come in handy, Gus spars with Nue, but he can't keep up in the first month,
the second month arrives in the spirit Realm, Gus studies various Yokai jutsu's the first one he learns is the chain technique, which summons chains infused with yokai energy.
Gus tries to summon one, but accidentally wraps himself in it, Nue face palms.
He tries Yokai Flare, he sets himself on fire, he attempts smoke disappearance, he covers himself in ashes, attempts a shadow sneak, he is caught in seconds. The biggest problem is, most of the techniques have magic infused in them, especially his shadow clones.
The third month arrives, nue teaches him to use tools in battle. First thing he teaches him is to use Shuriken, talisman bombs and Kunai.
Tells him to hit the targets, Gus throws all of them and misses. Few more months pass by in the Spirit Realm, and Gus makes a little progress, he is seen ninja running in the forest, and attempts to hide from Nue. Nue tracks his scent, and stops him from his sneak attack.]
Nue: Not bad! But you still need to catch up.
[Gus grips his fist, and grins in determination, for the next few months, he improves more and more each day, he lands all the targets, he learns spiritual combat, but he still has problems with his ninja techniques, on the 7th month, Nue gives him a new tool or tools.
Nue: These are the everlasting Yoyos, Infinite chains that can entrap any opponent. Use them well.
Gus: Oh yeah, I remember Luz telling me about these "yoyos" they work like this.
[Gus uses the Yoyo for the first time, but the Yoyo laughs like a maniac]
Gus: Huh, don't remember it doing thaaa...
[Gus flies away with the Yoyos laughing]
Gus: AGH!
[Nue face palms once more]
Nue: Oh boy.
[2 more months pass, and Gus masters more his basic techniques by the day, But still can't get the Yokai Ninjutsu right, on the last day of the 14th month in the Spirit Realm, Gus falls down in defeat]
Gus: GAH! I can't do it!
Nue: Is something the matter, you have already made it this far.
Gus: Well I got the gist of the tools, and I'm getting used to sneaking around the field, but it's the Yokai Ninjutsu I have a problem with.
[Nue agrees with Gus, because whenever Gus would perform a technique, there would always be hints of magic]
Nue: Let's return to your realm.
Gus: What?! Why?! It has even been 15 months yet.
Nue: No need for explanation, come on.
Gus: But?
Nue: Hush child. I said now!
Gus: *sigh* okay.
[Gus's body regains consciousness, and sees Nue]
Gus: Why are we back here?
Nue: Because I need to ask you one thing, why is it you feel you need to use your magic?
[Gus blinks twice and gets annoyed]
Gus: *annoyed* You brought me out of the realm we were in for almost five minutes just to ask me that?!
Nue: Nevermind that, just answer the question.
Gus: I really don't know!
Nue: Well there has to be something.
Gus: Why are you so obsessed with me not using my magic, it's a part of every witch in the Boiling Isles!
Nue: But what if you lose it in battle?
Gus: I would neve...
[Gus stops and thinks about what the Yokai just said]
Gus: What do you mean lose?
Nue: It seems Shatter Squad hasn't been telling you everything. You see, while you were training on your own, my spirit did a little investigation in your base. And I found a witch that was depleted of his magic power.
Gus: What happened to him?
Nue: (That I do not know, but whatever the case, if that were to happen to you. Do you think you would still stand a chance?)
Gus: Uhm.
Nue: (I saw into your mind, when a greater basilisk entered your school and absorbed your magic, you were completely depleted of power. And you couldn't do anything.)
Gus: I mean Luz stopped it!
Nue: (But still, this is really important, you have to understand why you rely too much on your magic.)
Gus: I don't know!
Nue: (Make up a reason! At least think of something that would be a good enough excuse. Something that would sound convincing.)
[Nue continues to speak which only made him feel pressured, and Gus finally lets it all out once more
Gus: It's because I feel like I'm useless without it!
[nue stops speaking]
Gus: My magic brought me this far in life, I got into the best school, advanced many levels. And even took down monsters with it. But now with all of this happening, I think I can make my magic powerful enough to stop at least one of those guys.
Nue: but you saw on the news what the that mystrious monster did to the Emperor's Coven. From what I have learned they are supposedly the strongest Witches on the Isles.
[Gus makes an annoyed face, and tries to talk back, but everything he says is right, the more he would try to convince him, the more he would be lying to himself.]
Gus: *sigh* Look I...I just think...I don't even know what to say. I just need help.
Nue: Then look into my eyes.
[Gus looks into Nue's eyes]
Nue: I want you to make 2 thousand shadow clones, without magic. Can I trust you with that?
Gus: But I already make the same mistakes over and over. What makes you think I can do it right?
Nue: (Just follow my lead.)
[Nue takes a deep breath and Gus mimics his actions]
Nue: Now tell me, why do you fight?
Gus: To protect my friends.
Nue: No, after all the time in the Spirit Realm there had to be another reason, tell me the truth.
[Gus's teeth chitter, but he grits his teeth, takes a deep breath, and spills the beans]
Gus: *serious* Like you said, I want to be able to stand up for myself. I want to be brave. I don't want to be scared of the little things anymore,
I don't want to be pushed around by others. I want to be able to keep the things I hold, and if people want to harm my comrades,
I want to be able to stand up and fight for them when they need me. All my life I needed people. And now I want to return the favor, defend my honour!
[Gus's Aura begins to glow]
Nue: (Now focus all those feelings into one Shadow clone.)
[Once again Gus inhales. And exhales. Letting his aura flow all over his body, not letting a single trace of magic touch his power. And with the right symbols in his hands]
Gus: Illusion style! Shadow Clone!
[A Shadow Clone appears next to Gus, and Nue senses that there is no magic within]
Nue: That's perfect, now make more!
Gus: RAGH!
[Multiple shadow clones repeatedly appear one after the other. Sometimes ten appear at the same time. Nue grins and asks Gus once more]
Nue: (Tell me why you fight?!)
Gus: TO STAND UP FOR MYSELF AND STAND UP FOR THOSE WHO NEED IT!
[His Aura Flares, light blue flames appear all around him, Nue then laughs in satisfaction]
Nue: YES NOW IT IS TIME!
[Now back to the present where Kotoha and Luz find Gus]
Kotoha: (Wait a minute)
[kotoha feels the chest of one of the clones]
Kotoha: (No magic! It's just like Mother's)
[Gus screams to the top of his Lungs]
Nue: Now let us form the contract! Gus Porter, what you will receive now is power that wreaked havoc for generations. I have caused great catastrophes not even warriors can stop.
But now when you have this power, you too will be able to stand up for yourself, and not let anyone push you around! Now yell my name and claim your prize!
[Gus screams louder, with all the pain going through his body! He hold his own, and smiles]
Gus: Spirit Power!
[Nue begins to mutate and grow]
Gus: LEGENDARY CHIMERA YOKAI! NUE!
[A fully grown Nue appears behind Gus, not only with the same features, but with longer fangs, scruffier fur, a cobra for a tail, red eyes, muscular arms, and fierce claws, and soon as he appears, the 2 thousand clones are complete.]
Nue: Well done Augustus. Now one more thing I should teach you. Follow my lead.
[Nue forms symbols with his hand, and Gus follows.]
Gus: Yokai Style! Exploding Shadow Clones!
[The Shadows Clones begin to explode one by one. Forming a crater, luckily Luz protect herself and Kotoha with a forcefield, Luz drops it]
Luz: GUS! THAT WAS AWESOME!
[Gus's Spirit disappears]
Gus: *tired* *pant* Hey Luz.
[Luz immediately hugs Gus tight]
Luz: How did you master that in five minutes?
Gus: I had a little help. Anyway, I think I'm going to take a nap.
[Gus proceeds to faint]
Luz: Oh boy.
[Few days later Gus, wakes up from his coma]
Gus: *gasp* What happened?!
[Kotoha and Luz appear right next to him]
Kotoha: *awkward* Hello Gus.
Gus: Kotoha, uhm, look I...
Kotoha: No, it's me who needs to apologize. *sigh* (I can't believe I'm saying something like this) I may have been a little too hard on you.
[Gus listens]
Kotoha: I've never had to train anyone before so I thought that if i made you work really hard, maybe you would become a decent fighter.
[she sighs]
Kotoha: But everyone needs their time, and if ever you need help with stuff you don't understand, I will help you. I know you won't forgive me and I know forgiveness is something that has to be earned, but I will be happy if you let me continue to train you.
[Gus, then looks at her, thinking she might be lying, but with the eyes she is making, she is serious, she might actually be apologizing]
Gus: Well maybe I haven't been honest. And I won't forgive you easily. But in training I have terms and conditions I want to set.
Kotoha: *sigh* Of course.
Gus: No extra laps. You let me use the library with your clearance. And you teach me more about this Yokai and Kyuubi no Kitsune.
[Kotoha closes her eyes and sighs once more, a little annoyed by the conditions, but if she wants forgiveness that will have to be the first step.]
Kotoha: Deal.
[Kotoha and Gus shake hands]
Luz: Is there something else you want to give him?
[Kotoha annoyed by Luz's voice]
Kotoha: *annoyed* *sigh* Do I have to?
Luz: *sly* If you want to make things better.
Kotoha: *annoyed* Ragh! Fine!
hey I brought lunch apollo said.
[apollo gets out a bento lunch]
apollo: Luz said you liked some earth food you had one day, so she made me, make these, for you.
[apollo opens the box revealing Onigiri]
Gus: What is it?
apollo: It's called Onigiri, a rice ball. it's Something i tried when I chris first to me to earth.
[Gus grabs one, sniffs it to see if it's safe, and takes a bite out of it. He tastes the rice, what seems to be a fishy taste, and a hint of mayo, he chews it, and is shocked by the flavors and textures. And he smiles knowing how amazing it is]
Gus: This is so good!
[Gus continues to munch on the food]
Gus: Can I have more?!
chris: Uh, go ahead?
[Gus grabs the remaining two and chomps on them. He chokes on one of them and bangs his chest, and Luz gives him water, after a few minutes of munching on the snacks, and exhales with delight.]
Gus: *refreshed* AH! That was delicious! How do you make such a delicacy?!
[chris raises her eyebrow]
Chris: *awkward* Well it's my mother's old recipe. But you'll have to ask apollo to show you, because I'm not good at teaching people how to cook. and he saw the humans make it.
[Gus want to have a talk with Kotoha who seems to feel awkward, but starts to get used to it. She then turns to Luz, who smiles at her. Under her mask, she forms a soft smile on her face, thinking that maybe these witches aren't so bad after all.]
Luz: Hey whatever happened to Nue?
Gus: I guess he lives inside of me now?
Kotoha: Not exactly.
[she points to his head, and Gus notices that he as a headband on]
Gus: Where did this come from?!
Kotoha: From what I've learned from kakashi, Yokai ninjutsu, tend to form a piece of clothing or an accessory. And Nue decided to be a headband.
[Gus touches his head]
Gus: I guess I can live with that.
[Luz and Gus both laugh, while Kotoha glances at them with pure silence. They may look annoying from up front but deep down, she may begin to have soft side for the two, especially for a certain witch].
A.n this chapter was about training gus,and in my story Kotoha is like lan fan from fullmetal alchemist brotherhood she supposed to secretly keep an I on hunter and keep him safe like lan fan supposed to keep prine ling yao safe and I made kakashi a new teacher of hexside to show the student how to use justu have a nice day everyone.
