Chapter 103: Friends in Lower Places
In Hell, some squatters were forced to flee from a rundown building after gunshots were heard. The one causing the chaos was Blitz.
"Yeah! Get out of here!" he shouted while making sure that the squatters were completely cleared out of the old building. "Alright, kiddos, get in!"
Coming in were Luz and her friends along with Moxxie and Loona.
"Man, Mami would flip if she knew I was here," Luz commented.
"This place is exactly where I imagined Fausty was from," Eda said while looking out from the window. "Or at least where he will finally retire…"
"Alright you bunch of livers, listen up!" Blitz announced, drawing everyone's attention. "The Pride Ring's one hell of a big place, but you all stand out too much so you'll need disguises. Luckily, Lu Lu can use her glamor spell on each and every one of you so you won't stick out like a sore thumb."
"My glamor spell can only keep up with about half of you," Loona revealed.
"But luckily, this building used to be a costume shop so there's plenty to disguise you guys with here," Moxxie added while holding a box containing devil horn headbands.
Lilith held up a journal and began to write down. "'It has been a few minutes since I've set foot in another realm as part of this expedition to save my nephew, King Clawthorne, and Edric Blight-"
"What are you doing?" Hunter asked, causing Lilith to turn to him.
"Oh, this is just something I've thought of doing while we are here," Lilith responded. "Since I have been suspended until further notice at the museum, I've decided to bring my job with me on this trip through Hell. I did tend to make logs about my travels further out from the Isles."
"Oh… did you… travel anywhere while in the Emperor's Coven?" Hunter asked her.
"Just a few of the other Titans," Lilith replied. "I do remember this one expedition with Vina, but it was classified. We lost a lot of scouts and a Beast-Keeping Head that day…"
"Alright, everyone gather around to get glamored!" Blitz announced as everyone walked up to get change. "Loony, do your magic."
Loona nodded and held up the grimoire. While she wasn't quite as good with it as Stolas, she was able to glamor half of the Boiling Isles denizens and give them disguises…
Cross got glamor to resemble a tall imp with his hair unchanged, but his skin was now red with black horns, yellow eyes, and a black t-shirt and jeans.
Lindsay ended up resembling a four-eyed pink demon with her hair now pale purple and she was wearing a black and red gothic dress and black boots.
Amity was glamored to resemble a lavender cat with spiky red hair, a purple sundress with black rain boots, and a purple bucket hat.
Hunter was next and he ended up resembling a golden retriever Hellhound with his regular eyes while wearing a yellow turtleneck and black pants.
Lilith was glamored last. She now had black eyeshadow around her eyes, red skin with a tail, black spiral horns, and she was wearing a blue long gown with a V-neck, her dress having two splits, and black boots.
"I feel… less modest in this," Lilith commented while looking at herself in a broken mirror.
"It's going to be weird having four eyes," Lindsay said.
"I wonder what Teri would think if he could see me like this," Cross said to himself.
Hunter also looked at himself. "I… didn't think I'd look like a golden wolf… I am a wolf, right?"
"Eh… sure, why not." Loona said before turning to Amity. "How'd you like your look?"
"Well, I have been called a Hellcat before," Amity said while looking at her appearance. "Are Hellcats a thing here?"
"Yup." Loona nodded.
"I think you look cute, Ams," Luz said while in her cambion form. She wore a black karate Gi outfit with a white waistband and a white skull mask with red markings.
"And you look cool, Luz," Amity replied while seeing the rest in costume. "All of you do."
Willow was wearing green horns while in a black poncho and gray short dress with a green belt, green striped stockings and black boots while sporting a black tail. She was also carrying a pitchfork.
Gus was wearing a large white wig, a crow-like gas mask, and a black button robe with black gloves and boots.
Boscha simply wore long red devil horns while wearing a black vest, white shirt, and jeans with fake-hoof boots.
Eda was shown in a black slim dress with red stripes, a red hairband, a masquerade mask, and black thigh-length boots.
"To be honest, I don't need much of a costume," Boscha admitted.
"Gotta admit, whoever used to run this shop had some nice taste…" Eda said while looking at herself in the broken mirror.
"This used to be a Spirit Halloween store," Blitz explained. "And to be honest, Eda, you don't need much work to look like a demon."
"Oh haha, that joke gets old as your sense of humor, horse-lover," Eda said.
"Really? You gotta hit me with my passion for horses?" Blitz questioned.
"There's nothing passionate about it!" Eda told him with a disturbed look.
Boscha turned to Loona. "What does she mean by that?"
"He's from Hell, think about it," Loona replied, leaving Boscha to think what Eda meant… followed by a look of appalled horror.
"Alright, listen up and listen good," Blitz spoke up. "Now, all of you are in Hell right now, so we're going to lay down some ground rules. Rule number one, don't look at anyone, rule two, don't fuck with anyone, and most importantly rule number three… don't fuck anyone!" He pointed to Hunter, Cross, and Lindsay "Especially you dirty-ass teenagers with your damn hormones!"
"Why us specifically?" Hunter asked.
"Cause we're the oldest," Cross answered.
"Um… I don't… really have those kinds of… thoughts, Mr. Blitz," Lindsay claimed.
"The shy ones are always the ones you least suspect…" Blitz said before Eda smacked him upside the head. "OW! Bitch!"
"Leave them alone, they're just kids," Eda told him off. "But he's right. You should all be mindful about the denizens around here. So do what Blitzy advised and make sure you all mind your own business until we get to the River Styx. One thing we should be aware of are the Overlords, the Ars Goetia, and possibly some old enemies that died and get sent down here…"
Everyone nodded in agreement before Moxxie spoke up. "One thing we should do in order to not draw attention to ourselves is to split up into two groups. Smaller groups stand out less."
"Right, Mox," Blitz agreed. "One group will go with me, while another goes with Moxxie. Think you can handle leading a field trip?"
"I'll keep them safe, sir," Moxxie replied.
"Great!" Blitz respond.
The group began to split up. Eda volunteered to go with Blitz just to make sure he didn't screw things up for them, Loona volunteering as well. Lilith went to Moxxie, Hunter obviously sticking with Lilith.
"I'm… going with Eda," Amity decided while glancing at Lilith.
"Me too," Luz replied, holding Amity's hand.
"I'm going to go with Hunter and Lilith," Boscha told them before turning to Willow. "Think you can keep Luz out of trouble?"
"Don't worry, Boscha, I know how to keep her and Eda away from trouble," Willow responded while Gus nodded.
"Oh come on, I don't get into that much trouble," Luz said, causing everyone to give her a look. "Okay, maybe I get into trouble most of the time, but not all the time!"
"Just be careful, guys," Boscha told them as they all gave a nod.
While Cross and Lindsay joined up with Moxxie's group, Eda and Lilith spoke to each other. "Now Lily, this place is pretty much like the Isles but up to twenty. So please, protect these kids."
"I will, Eda," Lilith responded with a determined look. "I will protect these kids with my life."
"Wait, what would happen if we died down here?" Boscha asked, curious.
Everyone looked at each other, unable to answer the question.
"...Probably best not to test that theory…" Cross suggested.
Once they headed out from the building, the two teams split up and went to take different routes toward the River Styx. They were in dangerous territory now…
Blitz's group traveled through the mostly red city, the witches glancing at the denizens, demon and Sinner alike, walking past them as they went about their day. Luz held Amity closer while Willow kept Gus close and Eda, Blitz and Loona kept guard. They stopped when they saw a guy on fire running out of an alleyway and getting hit by a car.
"Titan's crack," Luz winced while seeing one imp getting taken away by a demon bird.
"Yeah, this place ain't a pretty sight, kid," Blitz told her. "This is pretty much beyond the R-ratings…"
Eda noticed some certain Sinners walking by. "Huh, I forgot this place contains some of history's greatest monsters…"
"Yeah, there's Hitler over there," Luz said, pointing at Adolf Hitler getting mauled by devil ducks.
"Yup, history's worst of the worst ends up here, like Ted Bundy," Blitz said as he pointed to the Sinner with the ugliest face, Ted Bundy. "Trick-Dick." He pointed to Richard Nixon getting beaten up by some thugs. "And practically the worst of them all… John Smith!"
"WAAAHH!" cried out a bearded man in English clothing as he was repeatedly stabbed by other Sinners.
"Yup, the worst part is the Sinners here don't die," Loona explained. "Even if you suffer from a very gruesome accident, you'll eventually recover. But just because you can't die, doesn't mean that you don't feel pain. It is still just as painful."
"...That's disturbing," Willow commented.
They then saw a large tower with a jumbo TV as it played the 666 news.
"This is Katie Killjoy with Tom Trench reporting to you at 666 News, where we give out all the news and happenings around Hell!" spoke a pale sinner woman with blonde hair, big red eyes, and a wide grin while in a red suit. With her was a white-haired man in a gas mask and a gray suit.
"Our top story today, two red imp suspects have instigated a prison riot and mass escape! I would suggest locking your doors, but you should already be doing that against the looters!" Tom Trench reported.
Eda, Luz, and Loona turned to Blitz, who just rolled his eyes. "Oh please, it could be any two imps that caused that prison riot."
"Here's the artist interpretation of the prison escapees on the scene!" Killjoy reported as she displayed drawings of Blitz and Moxxie that looked more like a child's drawing.
"Like I said, any imp could have caused a prison riot," Blitz declared.
"Now here's Al Roker for the weather!" Tom Trench reported, which got Eda and Luz's attention.
"WHAT?!" the two Clawthornes exclaimed as they saw a hefty black man with red horns, Al Roker himself.
"Thanks, Tom," Al responded while in front of a weather board. "Looks like we'll be expecting hot showers tonight, folks, followed by a blazing tornado that could devastate several territories!"
"When did he die… or has Al Roker always been a demon?" Luz asked.
"Who's Al Roker?" Amity asked.
"A weatherman in the human world," Eda answered. "And apparently in Hell too…"
"Yeah, I hear that he has gigs in different realms," Blitz mentioned. "Word of advice: Never make deals with demons like him. The Dealers are the biggest cons…"
"Don't have to tell us twice," Luz said.
"Coming up next, a live interview with one of the recently deceased who is allegedly responsible for setting off the events of World War I. Meet the former mayor of a small little town called Gravity Falls, Oregon: Eustace Befufftlefumpter," Killjoy said while a screen showed the elderly mayor of Gravity Falls, now looking like a furry skeleton in his wheelchair.
"I'm finally living in heaven now!" he declared, causing the two anchors to snicker.
"Oh my Satan, he doesn't know, does he?" Tom asked as Katie Killjoy just cackled.
"Guess he died more senile even at 104!" she laughed.
"It's 102, Kate, get it right," Tom said while Killjoy hit him with a mallet.
"Don't test me, Tom!" Killjoy responded as Tom pounced on her, causing the two anchors to fight while the TV screen cut to commercial.
"Huh… the Gravity Falls mayor passed away," Luz realized. "Remind me to catch up with Dipper on that."
Willow noticed Gus being quiet and looking anxious. "Gus? Are you… okay?"
"I'm… just nervous," he told her. "Nervous about if he shows up…"
Realizing who he meant, Willow sighed. "Gus, is that what you've been worrying about?"
He nodded. "It's pretty obvious that he'll end up here, because of what he did. But… he could be anywhere…"
"Gus, listen," Willow reassured him. "Even if he is here, it's very unlikely that we'll cross paths with him considering how big Hell is and how many people are here. Michael doesn't even know that we are here… do you want to talk to Luz and Amity about it?"
Gus shook his head. "No… let's just focus on finding the River Styx," he said as they continued to follow Blitz.
"Around here, the souls here are called Sinners," Lilith mentioned while taking notes. "Most of the areas and businesses here are more… adult-oriented. Filled with vice, shame, and…" She glanced at an incubus and a sinner who looked like a white spider who stared at the group. "These take on many unique characteristics to look different from one another."
"Is she always like this?" Moxxie asked the others.
"Well, she used to be Head Witch of the Emperor's Coven," Cross explained.
"Now she works at the Museum of Supernatural History," Hunter added.
"Huh, Emperor's Coven… that does explain those soldiers," Moxxie noted. "I didn't know you witches were ruled under an empire."
"Yeah, the Boiling Isles is ruled under the coven system, with the Emperor's being the main government body," Boscha explained. "Each coven is based on a certain type of magic we witches use, and we can only practice one type of magic upon joining a coven."
"One type?" Moxxie asked. "That doesn't sound right at all…"
"We were taught that is the method that the Titan, our God, prefers," Hunter explained. "Of course, some of us have explored mixing magic before we are old enough to get sigils, which prevent us from using any other kinds of magic."
"That… sounds oppressive," Moxxie said before stopping when he noticed a mural that had been vandalized. "Oh crumbs…"
The witches looked up at the mural, seeing that it displayed a royal family of three. One was a tall pale man with blonde hair, a top hat, and a white suit. Next to him was a pale woman with long blonde hair, black horns, and a red dress. And in the middle of the mural was a young girl with long blonde hair, pale skin, and a velvet suit. Written over the young girl was 'WEAK PRINCESS' and over the man was 'HEATHEN' while over the woman was 'HOT MILF' while crosses were displayed.
"My goodness…" Lindsay gasped in shock.
"Who… who were they?" Cross asked.
"The Morningstar family," Moxxie answered. "They are the ruling family of all of Hell under King Lucifer. The one who is vandalized the most on this mural is his daughter, Charlotte Morningstar. Or Charlie, as she prefers to be called." He lowered his head. "She… isn't well liked here."
"Not well liked? What did she do?" Boscha inquired.
"It's not something she did, but what she is," Moxxie explained. "Princess Charlie is considered weak because of her positive worldview and kind altruistic nature. Some blame her dad's side of the family."
"She sounds nice. What's wrong with a little kindness?" Lindsay asked. "There's nothing wrong with being kind to one another."
"Not here in Hell," Moxxie said while looking down. "Here the strong rule over the weak. Not to mention most of the populace of Hell lack any sense of respect or loyalty towards Hell's royalty or any form of authority. They fear Hell's royals more than they respect them and, well, Princess Charlie isn't exactly the most threatening. And while the King and the other royals of Hell don't really care what we do to each other, Princess Charlie actually wants to make Hell a better place. But that's not exactly an easy task with the hierarchy around here…"
"Hierarchy?" Boscha asked.
"Hell runs on a caste system that is based on power and fear," Mox explained to them. "Lucifer is at the top. Below him is Charlie, his heir. Below her are the Seven Deadly Sins, who rule the other rings of Hell beneath Pride. Mammon is the Sin of Greed, Asmodeus is the Sin of Lust, Leviathan is the Sin of Envy, Beelzebub is the Sin of Gluttony, Satan is the Sin of Wrath, and Belphegor is the Sin of Sloth. Then there are the Ars Goetia, they are demons who are like the aristocrats of Hell and are beneath the Seven Deadly Sins. Beneath them are the Overlords, who are Sinners who wield considerable power and influence in the Pride Ring like Vox, Valentino, Velvette, Shere Khan, Alastor the Radio Demon… those guys you don't want to cross with, since they are at the top of the food chain…"
"Just like back at Hexside… and Glandus," Boscha said, knowing from experience what it was like to be part of the food chain.
"We don't have that in St. Epiderm, honestly," Cross admitted.
"Yeah, even our school president doesn't abuse much of his authority at our school," Lindsay added.
"Sinners rank below the Overlords, but they do have a chance to climb up the ranks to become an Overlord," Moxxie added. "Below them are incubi, succubi, and their relatives. And at the very bottom are imps like me and Blitz and Hellhounds like Loona. We are basically the working class of Hell."
"Wait, since you guys are born in Hell, shouldn't you be ranked above the Sinners?" Lilith questioned.
"You'd think that, but we lack the power that other demon types have, including Sinners," Moxxie said while looking at the mural. "This mural must've been vandalized by either punk gangbangers or those hypocritical Christians in denial of being here. Crumbs, the King would probably erase them for writing that about his wife…"
"Who is she, by the way?" Lilith asked, noticing the beauty of the woman in the mural.
"Why Lilith Morningstar, of course," Moxxie explained, which surprised Lilith. "Everyone in Hell knows their story. You see, King Lucifer used to be an Archangel of God, the higher-being that created the humans, both Mother and Father of all life. A lot of humans worship them. Lucifer led a rebellion against God and he was cast out of Heaven as a result. Lilith was the first wife of the first man, Adam, but she left him because he wouldn't accept her as his equal and she went with the demons instead."
"Wow, this Adam sounds like an asshole…" Boscha noted.
"Yeah," Moxxie agreed before turning to Lilith. "It is funny that you share the same name as her."
"Yes…" Lilith admitted, curious. "I wonder what she's like…"
"Never met her or any of the royal family, but I heard she is a pop singer," Moxxie explained.
"You know, Lilith is friends with Eda's house demon, Hooty," Hunter brought him. "She does call him Hoostifer a lot."
"It… it was just a nickname I gave him," Lilith explained. "He calls me Lulu."
"Oh… so he's not your lover?" Moxxie asked.
"No!" Lilith told while blushing.
"Wait," Cross said, noticing something. "What's that?"
He pointed to another mural and the group walked over to it. When they looked at the mural, their eyes widened at what they saw…
Black, horned winged creatures with grins on their faces rained down on Hell, slaughtering its denizens. The sight of the mural made Hunter freeze up, which Lilith and Boscha took notice of.
"Hunter? Are you alright?" Lilith went up and saw that he was hyperventilating.
"I-I-It's them!" Hunter cried as he fell back, his eyes dilating.
"Hunter!" Lilith and Boscha rushed over to him, trying to keep him together.
"Hunter, what's wrong?" Boscha asked.
"T-T-Them, from the vision…" Hunter stammered while in tears, prompting Lilith to hug him.
"Shhh, it's okay, it's okay Hunter," Lilith said in comfort, holding him while he cried.
"Visions?" Boscha, Cross, and Lindsay asked.
Lilith looked at them, wondering if she should tell them. She took a deep breath while calming down Hunter, deciding to tell them. "Belos has shown Hunter a vision about these creatures before," she said while turning to Moxxie. "What are they?"
"They're called The Exorcists," Moxxie said, which shocked Lilith and Hunter since they had heard the name before. "Well, to put it lightly, the Pride Ring had an overpopulation problem, so Heaven began to annually send a certain class of Angels called the Exorcists to kill a portion of its population, slaughtering demons and Sinners alike in an event that we call 'The Extermination'. They are led by an Angel named Adam and are the only ones who can really and truly kill the Sinners of Hell using their angelic tools. The only way for non-Exorcists to kill a Sinner or a royal is with scavenged angelic weapons. Lucifer does nothing to stop the annual Exterminations."
They all looked pale when they heard this. "Are you saying that your king allows his citizens to be slaughtered yearly?" Boscha asked and Moxxie nodded.
"Those Exorcists… are they… mechanical?" Hunter asked him.
"I've never seen them up close before, since I lived in a different Ring of Hell below," Moxxie explained. "But I did hear that their faces are covered by screens that allow them to show different expressions."
"Wait, this Adam that leads them… is he the same Adam that this realm's Lilith was meant to be engaged to?" Lilith wondered.
"I'm… well you… um…" Moxxie was thinking it over for the moment. "Honestly, I'm not sure," Moxxie admitted while turning to Hunter after he calmed down. "What do you know about these Exorcists?"
Hunter took a deep breath. "Well, I've been having these nightmares about them since Belos showed them to me… a vision of them attacking the Isles… no survivors," he said which caused Boscha, Cross and Lindsay to react in shock. "I've been wanting to know information about these creatures to prevent that future from happening, even found a prisoner named Ludo who came from another realm called Mewni. He revealed to me that the creatures like the ones on the mural were the ones that destroyed his world…"
Hearing the name Mewni caused Boscha's eyes to widen, since she knew that name…
"I'm not sure if these Exorcists go around to other realms causing mass genocide like that," Moxxie explained. "Though I have heard rumors about Heaven…"
"What kind of rumors?" Lilith questioned.
"Well, they're just rumors but… some are saying that God is not as involved in how Heaven is run as they used to be. In fact, I have even heard whispers that God has stepped down and left Heaven to the Angels. So who knows what is really going on up there."
They looked concerned about the information that they heard. Lilith and Hunter looked at each other in concern, while Boscha, Lindsay, and Cross all gave worried looks. Lindsay wondered if she should tell LOWTH about this when they got back home.
And so they moved on, Hunter and Moxxie ending up walking alongside each other.
"You know, your mom seems nice," Moxxie commented.
"Oh, um… Lilith's… not really my mom," Hunter replied. "She is my guardian. But I do owe her for helping me and taking me in when I had almost nowhere else to go. I certainly wouldn't go back to Belos…"
"Let me guess… he's kind of a bad dad?" Moxxie asked him.
"He… it's… complicated with him right now," Hunter explained. "Like I thought he cared about me, but I didn't really know who he was for the longest time and when I did learn, it made me question who I really was and… I just don't know. He has lied to me so many times and right now he is doing nothing about the bad people who recently hurt Lilith. I can't go back to him. I need time to think, time to figure stuff out."
"Yeah, I think I know the feeling too well with my dad," Moxxie responded with a nod.
"Really? What does your dad do?" Hunter asked.
"I don't really want to go into detail, but let's just say I can relate," Moxxie responded. "He wanted me to be someone I'm not… which is why I've decided to give up the lifestyle he wanted me to have and be my own imp."
"That's great for you, Moxxie," Hunter nodded with a smile.
Moxxie smiled as well, but then his tail twitched as he noticed someone trailing them…
Meanwhile, Eda's group had ended up getting involved with a gang war. They saw tanks and soldiers fighting off against other demons with their own national flags…
"Kids, get down!" Eda shouted while Amity and Willow shielded everyone with their magic. Blitz shot back at the gangs.
Coming out of a tank was a short Sinner with overly long hands and a small body. He was a French-looking general with a French cap and a skeleton face. "This territory belongs ze Great Napoleon!"
"Not when it's under a noble's authority!" spoke up an overly tall, gray checkered robed Sinner who resembled a large chess piece. He had a long black beard. "For I, Ivan the Terrible, shall conquer this side of Pride!"
Then everyone ducked down as they heard more gunshots in the air, causing Eda's group to scatter.
"Not so fast, boys!" spoke a Sinner who looked like a 1920s gangster… but his appearance was black and white as if his whole body was filtered with old-timey film. "This area belongs to me, Al Capone, so you all just scram outta here or else I'll fill you up with lead, capisce?"
"Who are these guys?!" Amity asked.
"According to Dipper, they're human history's biggest d-bags!" Luz explained.
"Everyone get together!" Eda advised while Blitz fired at anyone who got too close.
"Hey, we're walking here, you dumbfuck hazbins!" Blitz shouted while throwing a grenade at some soldiers.
"Should we use our staffs to fly out of here?!" Gus asked in worry.
"I don't think so," Luz pointed out. "We'll just draw unwanted attention to ourselves while trying to escape the madness."
"Blitz, we have to keep the kids away from here!" Eda told him. "Fuck, this place went to shit already…"
"Relax, Eda, this is just another turf war." Blitz reassured her. "That is just part of a normal day here in Hell."
"That's not helping at all!" Eda shouted at him.
Al Capone kept shooting while Ivan drew his sword to strike down Napoleon's men.
"I'll do you boys worse than I did to Caesar!" Capone declared.
"You are nothing but a peasant!" Ivan shouted. "I'll keep you as my dog like your former President Jackson!"
"You all shall grovel like Stalin did for me!" Napoleon cried out as the three ran up to each other as their men fought each other. The three faced off against each other, having intense glares. They were having a stand-off, a tumbleweed suddenly passing by them.
The three screamed as they charged at each other… and started slapping each other around. They smacked, poked, and kicked each other like school children.
Witnessing this from their hiding spot, Luz had a deadpan look. "Well, that was anticlimactic."
"Come on, there's a way out through this alley," Loona said as she pointed to an alley that would get them away from this chaos…
BOOM!
An explosion occurred and looked up to see that the cause of it was a blimp. The blimp had a giant, jumbo TV on the side and the screen revealed a slender, snake-like demon with red and black eyes, narrow pupils, and a wide grin showing his yellow teeth with charcoal body, with a jacket to match with that has pinstriped with yellow with a yellow underlayer opened with a single cerise eye. He had a yellow cobra hood with black tips and four cerise eye patterns spread across the center. He also sported a gray top hat with a red eye and mouth.
"Oh who's this asshole now?!" Luz groaned. The sight of the blimp had Napoleon, Ivan and Al Capone to stop fighting and look at the blimp.
"Greetings, this side of Pentagram City!" the snake spoke with a hissing noise to follow. "I, Sir Pentious, shall lay my claim to the west of the Pride Ring, making this my territory! But not after I, Sir Pentious, shall lay waste upon my enemies!" he declared.
"Bombs away!" he shouted while pulling a lever, causing the blimp to drop down large egg-shaped bombs that exploded around the area.
"Get out of the way!" Eda shouted while the group ran from the bombs. One exploded nearby, which caused Eda and Blitz to fly away from the group.
"Mom?" Luz shouted while noticing Amity down. She went back for her while gas began to spread across the warzone. "Amity, are you alright?!"
"Yeah… where's Willow and Gus?" Amity looked around, not seeing the two.
"We need to find them!" Luz shouted as she heard coughing. She turned and saw Loona, who had fallen down and was coughing while wiping her eyes. "Loona, are you alright?"
"This gas… smells like rotten eggs!" Loona shouted as her eyes were redder than before. "Crap, I can't smell anyone!"
Luz and Amity looked at each other, knowing how dire this was when everyone was separated. But they also knew they could not afford to stay here any longer.
"Come on, let's get you out of here!" Luz shouted as she and Amity helped Loona up.
Eda and Blitz got off from each other, Blitz looking around. "Loony! Can you hear me?!" he shouted only for another explosion to occur nearby, followed by screaming and gunshots. All the dust and gas made it hard to see anyone in the street.
"Blitz, where are the kids?!" Eda asked him.
"I don't know!" he responded while he and Eda tried to get away from the aerial bombardment. "But I'm sure Loony will protect them…"
Popping out from the ground were Willow and Gus, the former having protected both of them with her plant magic. The two looked around, seeing that their friends weren't there.
"Where's Luz, Amity and Eda?!" Gus asked in worry.
"I… I don't know!" Willow responded. "But I hope they're alright…"
Gus noticed a bleeding cut on her arm. "You're hurt…"
"Oh this? Don't worry," Willow waved off. "It is just a scratch," she said while wrapping up her wound, though not before a drop of her blood hit the ground…
Elsewhere in Hell was a large red and black corporate tower, the tallest tower of the area. Inside the top of the tower was an office where a succubus woman spoke to the man in charge, who looked out the window with his arms folded behind his back.
"As you can see here, since the last annual cleansing, there are more territories to take from," spoke a red succubus woman. She was about eleven feet tall and had blue hair that gradient to black, arrow glasses over her yellow, narrow eyes, and black lips. She wore a gray business suit coat that fit her narrow figure and a short skirt. She was known for her long sharp legs and black heels. Her horns had black tips like pencils, her tail had a black tip, and she had black bat wings. "With our resources, we can claim those territories before others who wish to make a claim could."
"Good," spoke the blue suited man in charge. He opened up his case full of cigars, his clawed finger lighting up on one cigar and lifting it up. "These are good results, Penzi…"
"And with many businesses shut down, we can eat up the competition while our stocks increase," Penzi continued while reading from the clipboard. "There's also some appointments you have with Vox, who wishes to offer you some social media expansion-" She noticed her boss dropping the cigar before we could smoke it. "Sir… what is it?"
"Do you… smell that, Ms. Skirtz?" he asked her.
Penzi looked confused. "Smell what, Mr. Khan?"
The man turned around, revealing himself to be a tiger demon with a large white chin, his yellow eyes widening while he grinned. "The smell of the living…" he declared. "It's been ages since I've last had an actual mortal…"
Shere Khan was back on the hunt.
Once Luz, Amity, and Loona had made it to a safe distance, they tried to look for the rest of their group.
"Mom! Willow!" Luz called out for them.
"Gus! Mr. Blitz!" Amity shouted while helping Loona. "I don't see them around here…"
"Loona, can you smell them?" Luz asked her.
"Shit… my nose's still shot," Loona responded as she held her nose.
"Wait, maybe we can use our scrolls to try to contact them!" Luz said while pulling out her scroll, trying to contact Eda… only to find no reception. "What?! There's no reception around here?!"
"I don't think your scrolls work here," Loona responded. "We use cellphones. Though I don't have one and the service is shit… because it's Hell."
"Well that's just… aw shit!" Luz shouted while pacing back and forth. "No phone connections, we're separated and lost… going back to that war zone is out of the question."
"Luz, it'll be okay," Amity told her while patting Luz's shoulder. "We'll just have to meet them up to the River Styx as planned. Everyone knows where we are supposed to go. Plus Willow's pretty much the strongest out of all of us, so they should be safe."
Luz considered this before she gave her girlfriend a nod. "You're right," she said. "Though first I think we are going to need some directions…"
"Perhaps I can be of service."
The girls heard a voice that sounded slightly distorted like… radio static. They turned around to see the source of the voice, Loona's eyes widening in shock as she froze in fear, her tail dropping between her legs while Luz and Amity stood on guard against the mysterious figure…
In front of them sporting a broad smile that showed his crooked yellow teeth was a beige skinned man with a pinkish-red cropped, angled bob-cut with black tips at the ends and two large, black tipped tufts of hair extending from the top, looking like ears of a deer. He had dark-red eyes with bright-red irises, thin black pupils, and a dark red oval-shaped monocle. His appearance was slim but dapper and he was wearing a red pinstripe coat with dark-red lapels piped with white, ragged along the bottom hem, a bright red dress-shirt with a black cross on the chest underneath, and long black dress pants with matching bright red cuffs. He also sported a black knotted bowtie with a red center, black with red tipped gloves, with black, pointed toe boots. He also appeared to carry a thin cane with a sentient vintage style microphone attached to it.
"Um… who are you?" Luz asked while Loona was shivering in fear, which Amity noticed.
"Loona… are you alright?" Amity asked while not keeping her eyes off the man.
"Why my name is Alastor, curious little mortal," he spoke to them. "And yes, I know you two are living mortals…"
As Lilith's group continued to move through a neighborhood, they hid out in a warehouse for a break.
"Is there anything to eat down here?" Cross asked.
"I don't think the food here's digestible for mortals," Moxxie replied while cleaning his gun. "Best to rest up for a bit."
The five witches sat on boxes. Lilith was writing down some notes, Hunter and Cross looked uneasy, and Boscha just stared down at the ground. Lindsay noticed the awkward silence, so she spoke up.
"So… about Amity," she brought up, getting their attention. "The um… news about her being a Fae…"
"She's part-Fae," Lilith quickly clarified. "Amity made a deal with a Fae named Puck, but the unintended consequences of that deal resulted in her gaining the abilities and power of a Fae. However, I can assure that none of you have any reason to fear her."
"Yeah," Hunter nodded while turning to Boscha. "So… how do you feel about this, Boscha? About Amity's… Fae situation?"
Boscha sighed. "Honestly, I've had a lot of bad experiences with the Fae, so I'm obviously not a fan of them." She gestured to her scar. "One scarred me as a prank while I was on the grudgeby field, then there was that crazy Coachman and then at Glandus it turned out that one of the teachers was a Fae, not to mention the Fae that paralyzed me. But… Amity is still Amity. Nothing's changed about where I stand with her… but I can't help but worry for her safety."
"I'm worried as well," Lilith admitted. "I already knew she was a Fae and like Luz and Eda, I fear for her safety. Though, I don't know where me and Amity stand right now… on account of… recent events." She looked down sadly and everyone knew what she meant, though nobody decided to point it out.
Hunter looked at the two St. Epiderm teens. "How do you guys… feel about it? I don't think you knew Amity personally like we do."
"Well, I am curious, I've never met a Fae before but after meeting Amity, she seems harmless," Lindsay admitted. "My friend, Tabrella, met up with her at the market before the Brawl. They had set up a playdate for their daughters- I-I mean, sisters!" she corrected herself before looking down with a saddened expression. "Though I'm… not sure if this… playdate date can be a thing anymore…"
"Mel really ruined Amity's life," Hunter said while crossing his arms. "And I am afraid of what Belos will do to her…"
Cross looked at Hunter, narrowing his eyes. "What exactly is your relationship with Belos?"
Hunter, Lilith, and Boscha looked at Cross. "Um… what do you mean?" Hunter asked.
"You mentioned seeing these visions Belos showed you," Cross pointed out. "So you must have had some kind of relationship with him. You and Lilith also know each other well, so I was assuming that you were her secret kid or something… but if I had to guess, you were in the Emperor's Coven…"
Hunter looked hard at Cross, realizing something. "Wait… how did you know Emily?"
Cross looked down. "I knew her in the Emperor's Coven… which I was blackmailed to join, but I never saw you there."
Hunter hesitated before sighting. "I… was the Golden Guard before Emily," he admitted, which surprised Cross and Lindsay.
"So… you're Emily's predecessor?" Lindsay asked and Hunter nodded.
"I've heard… rumors about what happened to the previous Golden Guard," Cross admitted. "Some say he disappeared from the castle one day, others think he fell victim to the Forest of Fear." He looked at Hunter's mechanical arm. "But from what Luz said… I think I now know what happened to him, or you for that matter."
"I already knew that Hunter's the Golden Guard," Boscha admitted with a shrug. "After the Glandus War, he shared who he really was with me. He's kind of a creep, but he's a good creep."
"Say what now?" Moxxie asked.
"Right now I am living with Lilith and her family. Belos does know where I am, but he isn't forcing me to return to the castle and says that I can come back when I am ready. However, I don't really plan on going back to the castle anytime soon right now," Hunter explained.
"Well, it's nice that you have a choice," Cross commented while lowering his head, causing Hunter to rub the back of his neck awkwardly.
"We're sorry that you're in this kind of situation right now," Lilith sympathized with Cross. "But how did they force you into the Emperor's Coven anyway?"
Cross began to explain. "My family's being threatened. Don't worry, I don't have a sigil, I'm mainly just considered a volunteer. For now, at least."
"You must have a lot of potential if they're willing to make you work for them," Boscha noted.
"Cross is one of the Top Plant students at St. Epiderm, along with Veronica and Beel Zatar, the latter being on the student council," Lindsay explained.
"The Emperor's Coven has paid attention to certain families and young promising witches with lots of potential like Amity, Emily, Donna… tell me, what is your family's name?"
"Drakescale," Cross explained.
Lilith's eyes widened, having recognized that name from her time in the Emperor's Coven. "Drakescale… you are part of the Drakescale Clan?"
"Yup," Cross nodded.
"Oh…" Lilith realized. "Oh, I am so sorry…"
"Excuse me for the moment," Moxxie said as he suddenly got up. "I have to… take a piss."
Everyone looked confused as they saw Moxxie head out. Outside, he found someone waiting for him. It was a hot-pink shark demon dressed as a gangster. With his black bat wings and a tail with the tip shaped like a heart, he appeared to be half-succubi.
"Stu," Moxxie spoke to the shark-succubus hybrid.
"Mox! Long time, no see," he replied while lighting a cigarette. "Heard you broke out of prison."
"Yeah, and I know Crimson must have heard," Moxxie responded. "I assume he sent you for me."
Stu nodded with a smile. "Yeah, your dear old dad heard about your bust. Really impressed, by the way."
"Yeah, no thanks to Chaz," Moxxie said with a sour look.
"Now don't look all sour apples, kid," Stu told him. "Your daddy wants you back home in Greed."
"Of course he does," Moxxie responded while rolling his eyes. "Stu, I can't go back home. If you can't tell already, I'm in the middle of a new job right now, so I'm pretty sure dad should at least respect that I can't come back while I have a commitment to fulfill."
Stu looked at Moxxie while blowing his smoke at him. "Babysitting's below you, but… I'll be sure to give your dad the message… he won't be happy though."
"Yeah, I know, but I'll take care of that when I have to," Moxxie responded while swiping the smoke out of his face. "Until then, I don't want my father interfering with my current job. So if I see you or any one of dad's men spying on me again… I'll send a different kind of message to him," he threatened with a glare.
Stu chuckled and rustled Moxxie's hair. "I forgot how cute you are when making these threats," he said with a purr while Moxxie swatted away his hand. "I'll leave you be, but remember, you are always welcome back in the family, Mox."
Moxxie just watched Stu leave before he headed back into the warehouse, knowing that this was something he would have to worry about in the future…
Meanwhile, Blitz and Eda were in an alleyway, the latter pacing back and forth.
"This is not good, not good at all," Eda said as she paced back and forth, holding a cigarette. Apparently she was worried so much for the kids, she was smoking again. "We lost the kids… my kids are lost in Hell! And I can't get a reception through my scroll here!" She turned to Blitz. "Can't you contact Loona?"
"I can't… because we don't carry cell phones," Blitz admitted. "Do you have any idea how many enemies I have that could track us down through our cells?"
"Well that's just fucking great!" Eda shouted while holding the cigarette. "See this? You caused this! Bad enough I look older because of this curse, might as well get cancer quicker!" she shouted while her feathers popped out.
"Eda, Eda relax! We'll find your kids," Blitz reassured her. "And besides, they know how to head for the River Styx..."
"That is not reassuring! They could be lost or killed or…" Eda looked stressed out as she just snarled. "Titan, things like this are why we broke up…"
"Hey, last I checked, you broke up with me!" Blitz told her off.
"Yeah, I broke up with you because you cried a lot like the little bitch imp you are!" Eda shouted at him, her eye blackened. After growling, she drank up one of her elixirs that she took out from her hair. She returned to normal "Titan… this place is getting to me already…"
"Look Eda, I know you're stressed, but we will find the kids," Blitz promised her while Eda just turned around. He sighed. "Look, I can take you to someone I know who could help us find them… I didn't want to involve him earlier but since we have no choice… oh man… Stolas is not going to like this…"
"Alright pal, back off!" Luz snarled while keeping Amity behind her, Loona hiding behind them as well. "Don't even think about messing with us!"
"Oh please, my child," Alastor said to them. "If I wanted to hurt you… I̵̲͆ ̶̨̫̈c̸̹̚ͅo̴̙͊͜u̶̗̱͂ļ̵͚͛̄d̶̬̮̔'̷̧͔̐v̶̺́͜e̸͕̅́ ̷͖͠á̸̼̌l̴͕͓͗ȑ̵̠ě̶̯͜ȧ̵̱͝d̵̯̈́̽ỵ̵̰̀̅ ̶̩͋̌d̷̝̠̊̚ỏ̷̳̗̄n̴͗͒͜e̵͍͘ ̴̹͌̈́s̶͎̀͐o̷͕͍̔͝.̵̛͔͐.̵̜̤̉̔.̶̰͌"̷̳̑͗
Luz looked unconvinced, as Alastor continued. "But instead, I'm really here to help you!"
Loona grabbed the two girls. "Uh, can we have a moment?" she asked Alastor.
"Of course!" Alastor said, his smile never wavering as Loona pulled Luz and Amity aside.
"Okay, it is not a good idea to accept help from the Radio Demon," Loona warned Luz and Amity once she had them in a private conversation.
"Radio Demon?" Luz questioned. "That sounds kinda lazy…"
"What's his deal?" Amity asked while glancing at him and noticing he was just standing there… menacingly…
"Like Cruella, he's a cannibal," Loona explained to them. "Like, the kind that eats his victims served like gumbo with rice. He manifested in Hell decades ago, seemingly overnight. He began to topple overlords who had been dominant for centuries. That kind of raw power had never been harnessed by a mortal soul before. He would then broadcast his carnage all throughout Hell just so everyone can witness his ability… only stopping when he became bored. Many have speculated what unimaginable force enabled him to rival our world's most ancient and destructive evils… but one thing's for sure, he's an unpredictable source of danger, a wicked spirit of mystery, and a violent monster of chaos the likes of which we've never seen… if we get involved with him, chances are we might get erased!"
Luz and Amity have each other worried looks before looking back at Alastor, who just grinned at them while tilting his head. Not even bothered by a spider crawling on his face.
"So… deal with him might have some precaution…" Luz indicated and Loona nodded.
"Try not to set him off," Loona advised in fear.
Luz nodded before she walked up to Alastor while clearing her throat. "Look, Mr. Radio Demon guy, we just met and I'm not interested in making any devil's deals with you so we'll just be on our way…"
"Ohohoho, I think you've mistaken, young one!" Alastor said. "I'm not here to make deals with you, why I just overheard that you're trying to reach the River Styx and I would be happy to help you get there… free of charge!"
Luz and Amity turned to look at each other before Amity spoke up. "But what do you get out of this? You can't just be doing this out of the goodness of your heart…"
"Of course not! But I would like to satisfy my curiosity about why two mortals from the living world are down here in Hell!" Alastor pointed out. "Besides, do you really think you can make it to the River Styx on your own? What you need is someone with knowledge of the area and the power to protect you if anyone down here was to learn what you really are. And no offense, but I don't think your guard dog alone would suffice…" He gestured to Loona, who looked offended but didn't say anything.
Luz and Amity leaned together to have a talk amongst themselves. "Okay… it might be as risky as Loona said… but what choice do we have?" Amity asked.
"Yeah, it's not like we could just tell the guy to go away, especially if he's as powerful as Loona said," Luz commented
"His shadows also seem… alive," Sam said to Amity. "I don't think he has a Fae, but his shadows are… quite scary."
"Sam mentioned that he also seems to have living shadows," Amity pointed out.
Luz sighed, knowing that they had no choice but to let this cannibal help them.
"Alright, you can help us," Luz said while turning to Alastor.
"Splendid!" Alastor responded. "Might I ask for your names?"
"Um… I'm… Barbara," Luz said, using a fake name. "And my girlfriend here is Kara."
"Hi…" Amity waved.
"And our friend here is Leni," Luz/Barbara waved to Loona, who was still keeping her distance out of fear.
"Charmed to meet you Barbara, Kara, and Leni," Alastor responded. "Now come along, the River Styx awaits us!"
Amity looked down at Sam. "Hey, go try to find the others and make sure they're safe," she told her shadow as it detached itself from her feet. She and Luz then began to follow Alastor. "You coming, Leni?"
"Uh yeah, coming…" Loona replied as she followed them, feeling nervous around the red-suited Overlord.
Once Willow finished treating her wound, she and Gus walked through the streets of Hell together.
"Okay, don't panic," Willow said, both to Gus and herself. "This is just a setback. I'm sure that Eda and Mr. Blitz will eventually find us."
"Yeah," Gus agreed. "All we need to do is just stay where we are until they find us."
"I don't know if it's a good idea, especially in a place like this," Willow said while leading Gus. "Come on, we should probably keep moving and head in the direction of the River Styx."
Gus nodded and the two continued to try and navigate their way through Hell. They noticed that this part of Hell was a lot more empty, outside of the rats that scurried around. The two even noticed some of the demons having closed their doors and locked their windows.
"This place sure isn't busy…" Gus commented.
"Yeah, as if they're avoiding something," Willow responded.
"Think it's the weather?" Gus asked, wondering if Hell experienced something like boiling rain.
"Let's not stick around to find out," Willow said while grabbing Gus's hand.
They walked further, not realizing that a shadow was behind them. They noted how quiet everything was. No loud music blaring, no sounds of fighting, and they saw no signs of life except for a dead-looking guy they had to walk around…
The back of their hairs raised up as they felt some form of tension around the area. The dead silence only made Gus more nervous. He feared that Michael could show up at any time to strike, while Willow kept him close while prepared for her defense.
They then came across a street lined with casinos. Gus looked around, getting some deja vu. "You know, this kinda reminds me of Last Vegans."
"Yeah, you mentioned how bright it was," Willow replied. She noticed that drinking outside of one casino was an anthropomorphic avian cat demon with a red bow tie, ears with hearts, a small black top hat, black eyes with yellow irises, red long eyebrows with black stripes, and red wings.
"You kids shouldn't be hanging around here," Husk muttered before going back inside.
"Wonder what he means by that?" Gus asked.
"I believe he means me," said a voice.
The two stopped, turning around to face the source of the deep, sounding voice. They saw nothing and they turned back around… only for a large, black and red striped tiger to jump over them. The two ducked as they saw the large tiger land on the street.
"My, my, this is interesting," Shere Khan said, his appearance being that of a blackened tiger with red, glowing magma stripes, his eyes flaring up and his tail in the shape of a flaming branch. "The smell of the living… oh, it has been so long… what are you mortals doing in Hell?"
"Gus, get behind me," Willow told him. "We don't want any trouble, just passing through."
"Oh, I don't think so, mortal cub," Shere Khan told her "It's been a while since I've had mortal flesh, since before I died of starvation… and magma. While the flesh of the demons here can only bring me so much satisfaction, having mortal flesh once again will bring me a delight! So let's see how easy of prey you are…"
He rushed towards them, but Willow used her magic to sprout vines to grab him by the tail, pulling him away from them. "Run!" Willow told Gus as he sprinted away before she followed after him. Shere Khan rushed over to block their path, going after Willow. She summoned her thorn vines that formed into fists, punching Shere Khan across the face and making him crash into the wall.
He snarled as he got up and saw Willow and Gus just standing there. He took a swipe at them until it was revealed that they were illusions. He turned around, seeing them having run off. He grinned, followed by a chuckle. "Oh do run, it makes the chase more fun…"
The two ran through an alley as they tried to escape the tiger demon. Gus looked back, noticing a ball of flames following them. He had Willow duck down after coming out of the alley, watching Shere Khan regenerate from the ball of flames to his beast form.
"You become what you fear, has been my mantra," Shere Khan said while walking towards his prey.
Willow created a large bush wall, then made more while she and Gus ran off from him, Gus also creating illusion duplicates of him and Willow. But Shere Khan either ignored or swiped through the illusions while burning through the plants that Willow summoned.
"Do you think that your plants will stop me? A demon made of flames?" Shere Khan asked as he let out a mighty roar. The sound of the roar scared the denizens of Hell, even those who were far away, since they knew it was the mighty roar of Shere Khan, Overlord of Hell.
"Then how about this?" Gus asked as he turned to Willow. "Break that hydrant!"
Willow saw what Gus was pointing at and she used her vines to break the fire hydrant. It shot out a gush of water, hitting Shere Khan to the side.
"AAH!" he cried out while getting hit by the water, which prompted him to change back into his normal, blue suited, anthropomorphic form. He coughed as he saw that the two were nowhere in sight, having escaped from him… temporarily. He decided to give them a head start. "After all, it makes the hunt more interesting…"
Meanwhile, Eda had flown Blitz over to Stolas's mansion, where they noticed a social gathering was happening. To avoid attention, they snuck through the garden, which made the gardener's tail twitch.
"Who's there?!" the insane-looking small imp demanded. He had ruffled black hair, yellow eyes with shrunken black pupils, purple sleeveless shirt, and dark green pants with a scarf and gloves. "The mistress tells Buzz to keep uninvited guests out of the garden! Buzz can smell you…" he said to himself. "This is just like when Buzz had to scare off those damn gophers!"
Eda and Blitz hid from the insane gardener, Blitz whispering to her. "Keep away from this guy, he's not right in the mind…"
"I see," Eda nodded as they snuck over to a door to the kitchen. Blitz knocked on it and it was answered by an imp butler of Blitz's height with white hair, black overalls, and a white collared dress shirt.
"What's up, Pringles?" Blitz greeted the butler.
Pringles sighed. "You must be here to see Stolas…"
"I know Stella is having one of her social gatherings right now but… can you let us in?" Blitz asked while Pringles opened the door.
"You owe me for this, Blitz," he told him while letting Stolas and Eda inside.
They found themselves in the large kitchen, which Blitz and Eda had to sneak through while avoiding the staff. Amongst the staff was a light-blue turtle-like Sinner demon wearing a red bandana. He had dark blue cuffs, a dark spikey shell and blue armored underbelly, and four crab legs. He also held two golden rings on his left two fingers. The sight of this guy reminded Eda of Goonla and that one pirate named Hook…
"Oi, Jack!" shouted a crab Sinner chef with a French-accent. "What is up with the savories you make?!"
"You got a problem with my savories, Louis?!" Jack McDowl questioned the crab chef.
"Yes, Stella asks for the cheese slices to be cut in tiny bits of 1cm, these were cut in 1.2cms!" Louis argued.
"It's cut the way it is, so tell her to just eat the damn things!" Jack shouted at him.
"You will cut the way they are, you no-good, crusty-shell pirate!" Chef Louis shouted with his insane eyes.
"I'll show you crusty, you French freak!" he shouted, holding up his cleaver while Louis was armed with his pincers and pans as the two started to fight, the rest of the kitchen staff staying clear of them.
"Titan's crack, they're killing each other…" Eda winced.
"Relax, they're Sinners, they won't die from stabbing the shit out of each other," Blitz reassured her while they made their way to the exit of the kitchen.
"Come on! I've faced worse crabs than the likes of you, you shell-headed clusterfuck!" Louis shouted while he and Jack clashed their sharp tools at each other.
After sneaking out of the kitchen, they ended up in a hallway. Blitz quickly led Eda to a closet with staff uniforms. When they came out, Blitz was in a maid outfit while Eda was dressed as a caterer.
"You know, I could be the maid," Eda pointed out.
"Yeah, the old maid," Blitz countered while they headed out.
The two walked down the hallway, keeping up appearances. They passed by a gray Hellhound girl with black hair tied in a ponytail, a black jacket with a purple button shirt, black tie, and gray pants. She was lighting a cigarette.
"Um, do you know where Stola is? We're new hires for the hour," Blitz told her.
"I think he locked himself in his quarters, just past the dining hall," the Hellhound responded as the two walked past her. "Hey, wait," she said, getting them to stop in their tracks. The two looked nervous, fearing that they had been caught. "You guys want to check out my tricked out ride? Gonna use it for the next drag race."
The two looked at each other, then the Hellhound. "Um… maybe later." Eda said as they continued on. "What's her deal?" she whispered to Blitz.
"That's just Jessie Baskerville, a well known adrenaline junkie and the family chauffeur," Blitz answered.
When they passed by the entrance to the dining hall, Eda stopped to glance at the social gathering happening inside. What surprised her was that one of the guests happened to look like someone she knew from the Isles…
'Malphas?!' she thought while seeing Malphas the librarian speaking to the other Ars Goetia.
"Yeah, Stolas and his family are part of the Ars Goetia," Blitz explained. "These guys outrank the Overlords and Sinners, but aren't above the Sin Demons like King Lucifer and his baby daughter. Though the Stolas I know is only his current reincarnation…"
Eda noticed a cat-like demon talking with the members of the Goetia. "Huh, didn't know they had a cat…"
"Cat? Oh no, that's just a Sinner who's associated with Stolas's ass-bitch wife over there," he pointed out. "I forgot what her name was…"
"I must say, this is quite the party, Madame Stella," spoke the elegant cat woman who had horned-shaped cat ears formed like hair and dark gray fur with red fur around her face. She wore a red and purple gown with a green gem connected to her chest which had a X-mark. She was holding a cane and had piercing green eyes. Next to her was a short, pudgy man wearing a black top hat. He had piercing yellow and green eyes and a red scarf while wearing a coachman's suit, but had cat-like features as he ate food from the table. "Lucifer, stop eating so messy."
The Sinner man, Lucifer, stopped eating while he crouched down, kneeling towards the elderly cat woman.
"Sorry about that, my little… pet sometimes forgets his manners," the cat sinner explained.
"Please, this is nothing, I've seen hot messes before, like my husband's little imp friend," spoke Stella, a tall, slim white avian demon with long, hair-like feathers that had gray tips and a large gray stripe on her head, a short pink beak, and very long curved eyelashes. She wore a white dress with puffed sleeves and feathered trimming, along with black accents and a crown on her head. "Why don't you get him cleaned up, Ms. Tremaine?"
Tremaine nodded to the woman. "Of course, I'll be right back," Lady Tremaine said while bringing Lucifer with her. "Come now, Lucifer, so that I can get you clean…"
"Wow, Stella, you sure brought an interesting guest here," spoke a voluptuous blue Ars Goetia woman with long and wild red hair with pink stripes, purple eyeliner with long black eyebrows, and yellow irises with black eyes. She wore a crimson split dress with an hourglass figure, purple long arm-gloves, and purple heels. "Where'd you find her?"
"You wanna know, Gremory?" Stella asked with a smirk. "Apparently she was some noblewoman in her previous life until she lost it all to her step-daughter, then got stabbed by her actual daughter and ended up here. Hell, that little pudgy man she brought with her used to be her cat, named her after our king!"
"Really? How much of a pathetic try-hard bitch is she?" asked a large, beastly man who resembled a lion with a skeletal face. He had big red eyes, a brown mane, and he wore a long red jacket with pink fur trims, a yellow chest, a red waistband, purple pants, gray hindlegs with black hooves, and a black-tipped fur tail.
"I'll tell you, Valefor," Stella replied. "She'd make a good jester for our entertainment, and she has no clue why I invited her here! Bahahahaha! I'll admit, she's more pathetic than my no-good husband!" She laughed as the others laughed as well.
Eda just glared at Stella. "Geez, she reminds me of a certain someone I know…"
"Come on, let's go," Blitz said as they continued on their way.
Eda glanced one last time at the Ars Goetia as Gremory looked up and spotted Eda, giving her a wink. Eda quickly dashed away while hiding a blush, the blue she-devil of a woman watching her leave before going to talk to Stella again.
They were now in the hall leading to the door to Stolas's quarters. They saw two imps coming out. One was a tall imp girl with long black hair, red irises, and white freckles. She wore a green dress with a white apron, a snake tattoo on her right arm, brown stockings and heels with her tail having black thin stripes. Next to her was a little young imp girl with black hair, full black eyes, and a white scar on her right cheek. She wore a gray shirt with black tank top, a blue skirt with gray leggings, and had a white spot on her tail.
"Okay, Linda, let me show you how things go down around here," spoke the older imp girl. "Since you will be joining us thanks to Count Ipos, you should know a few ground rules. For one, don't give Stella a reason to be mad, in fact, avoid her like the plague. She may be hot, but she can be… crass."
"I'll keep that in mind," Linda, the smaller imp girl, responded. "But what is Octavia like, Jewel? I am being given to her, after all. Is she… nice?"
"Well thank Satan that she mostly takes after her daddy," Jewel commented as they passed by Eda and Blitz, not acknowledging them. "Though you wanna know a secret? I think Stolas may be having a secret affair…"
Eda raised her eyebrow, while Blitz overheard the girl's reason for being here. "Aw, this is just like how my old man sold me to be Stolas's friend," he commented, which shocked Eda.
"What?" Eda asked him.
"Yeah, that's how me and Stolas first met," he explained before noticing the look Eda gave him. "Ah don't give me that look, it's not as bad as it sounds," he said as he knocked on the door. "Yo, Stolas, you in there?"
"Blitzy?" Stolas asked before opening the door, seeing him and Eda. "Oh Blitzy, you're back! Did you find Loona?"
"Yup! Found Loony Toony and brought her back safe and sound," Blitz responded while looking a little nervous. "Plus, I brought in a guest with me."
Stolas turned to Eda. "Oh, looks like you brought a witch with you…"
"Oh um, hey, you must be Stolas," Eda greeted him. "My name is-"
"Eda the Owl Lady, I've heard of you," Stolas said, catching Eda by surprise. "Good things, of course. Come in, both of you."
Blitz and Eda entered the room while Stolas shut the door behind them.
"By the way, I thought I saw someone I know at your wife's gathering, his name's Malphas," Eda commented.
"Ah yes, Malphas," Stolas confirmed. "He does tend to spend most of his time in the Demon Realm, I heard he has a sweet gig at a library. But he does occasionally return to Hell for social callings and his responsibilities as a Goetia."
Eda had a surprised look. "Well… wonder how Amity would react…"
"By the way, how's Hooty doing?" Stolas asked Eda.
"Oh he's doing… wait, how do you know Hooty?" Eda questioned him, looking even more surprised.
"We go way back," Stolas admitted, which made Eda more confused. "By the way, Blitzy, nice maid outfit," he pointed out with a purr.
Blitz blushed. "Oh you know me, I look good in anything," he replied while giving his own purr.
Stolas chuckled. "You always have a good taste in fashion, my little Blitzy," he said while stroking Blitz's chin. Eda just stood there as they flirted in front of her.
"Uh, Blitz says you can help find my kids," Eda spoke up, causing Stolas to pause.
"Your… kids?" Stolas asked while Blitz looked nervous.
"Yeah, some mortal children that were with me and Blitz," Eda revealed. "We were heading down to the River Styx until we got caught in a war zone. Now I can't find them."
Stolas paused for the moment, his head turning to Blitz as he sent him a glare. "Blitzy… is what the Owl Lady said true…?"
"W-W-Well… um… define lost…" Blitz replied.
"YOU BROUGHT MORTALS, PARTICULAR MORTAL CHILDREN IN HELL!?" Stolas shouted at Blitz who shrank down. "Out of all the confounded, debauchery, risk-taking, stupendous things you've done…oh great Lucifer, he's going to have all of our asses if he learns about this! And his wife will have the rest of us!"
"Okay, calm down, Stolas," Blitz said, trying to calm the owl avian demon down.
"CALM DOWN?!" Stolas shouted while looking stressed. "What were you thinking of bringing mortals here in the first place? Let alone bring them to the River Styx?"
"We needed to get to the Underworld," Eda explained to him. "My son was kidnapped along with some other young witches from my realm by Melinoe and her gang."
"Melinoe? Hades's daughter?" Stolas asked. Blitz and Eda nodded. "Fuck… okay, don't worry, Eda, I'll help fix this mess Blitzø created and find your children."
Eda was relieved. "Oh, thank you," she said.
"Don't thank me yet," Stolas said. "Blitz, do you at least have my grimoire?"
Blitz nodded and pulled it out, Stolas taking it from him and beginning to flip through.
Meanwhile Lilith's group had found a way to make it to their destination sooner: by riding a tour bus. They stood outside the tour bus with their group, having been assigned numbers.
"Welcome to the Pride Express, for all interested in touring the outer circles!" spoke the goat demon tour guide. "My name is Mr. Guide and I'll be your tour guide. I have been doing this business for ten years and I have had a perfect record in not losing a single person on the tour! So please… stay with your group…"
Lilith's team looked concerned by this before the goat demon changed back to his welcoming self. "Now come on board and let's show you all the sights of Pride! Any questions?" He saw Lilith's hand raised. "Yes, number 9?"
"When do we get to see the um… River Styx?" Lilith asked. "I, um, heard about that's where souls pass through."
Mr. Guide just looked at Lilith before ignoring her question. "Any other questions? No? Good, now get in."
Lilith frowned while everyone else got on the bus.
"Try not to make it personal… everyone around here's an asshole," Moxxie told her.
"Don't have to tell us twice," Boscha replied as they all got in.
On the bus, Lilith and Moxxie sat together in one seat, Boscha and Hunter sat together in another, and Cross and Lindsay were also sitting together. Everyone sat in the back to draw less attention. The tour guide started the bus, beginning their route while giving some information about this side of Hell. While he did so, Boscha looked over to Hunter, getting a chance to talk to him about something.
"So… this Ludo you mentioned earlier… he's from this place called Mewni?" she asked him.
Hunter gave a nod. "Yeah, and he claimed that the Exorcists destroyed his realm. In fact, other than Ludo, I have met other Mewman survivors recently who verified his claims."
"You have? What were they like?" she asked him.
"One of them actually knew Belos and the other reminds me a lot of Eberwolf in a way… though not by appearance, since they look like humans, but they can also use magic," Hunter explained. "I think they are called…"
"Mewmans?" Boscha asked him, causing Hunter to look at him.
"Yeah…" Hunter said. "How did you know?"
Boscha sighed. "You know that 'cousin' of mine that you've met a while back?" she asked him and Hunter nodded. "Well, he's not really my cousin, which is probably a good thing since we kissed… but he's also a Mewman survivor."
Hunter's eyes widened. "He is?"
"Yeah," Boscha replied. "I found him while he was living on the streets and later I hid him in my attic until my mom found out and let him stay in a bedroom. He did talk about Mewni, though he never mentioned the Exorcists…" She sighed again. "I can't ask him about it now, since he along with my mom got arrested by the Emperor's Coven during the time I was paralyzed…" She looked down, her fists tightening.
Hunter's eyes widened as he suddenly remembered everything that Boscha had been through, including losing her family. "Oh Titan… I'm so sorry, Boscha," Hunter responded. "I wish there was-" He paused, realizing there was something he could do. He didn't like doing it, but as he looked at the pain on Boscha's face as she thought about the people she had lost… he made a decision. "I promise you when we get back… I'm going to ask Belos to free them."
Boscha looked up at him in surprise. "You… you will?" Boscha asked him. "Even if it means… going back to Belos?"
Hunter looked unsure. "I don't know… but I'm sure that if he listens to me, he could go through with the request to have him and your mom freed…" He looked down in guilt. "Boscha… I'm sorry for not helping you with your family earlier. I should have gone back to ask for them to be pardoned a while ago, but… I was just too focused on my own problems."
"Hey, I don't hold it against you, Hunter," Boscha reassured him, reaching out to touch his hand. "I get it, you were going through your own shit. But thank you, for willing to go back to the castle just to help me." She smiled at him. "You're a good friend."
Hearing her call him this, Hunter frowned and looking down. "Boscha… there's something you should know…" She gave him a confused look. "My relationship with Belos… I'm more than just his right-hand… I'm… related to him. He's my uncle."
He looked up at Boscha's face and saw her looking at him in shocked silence…
Meanwhile, Cross and Lindsay sat beside each other, Cross noticing Lindsay fidgeting with her fingers while looking out the window. "Hey," he spoke to her. "Are you alright?"
"Oh um… yeah, of course," Lindsay responded as she turned to him with a look of uncertainty. "I'm just… a little scared. Actually, a lot scared, terrified even," she admitted. "I'm so far from home and out of my comfort zone. I'm used to going to school every week and hanging out with my friends, not literally traveling to Hell in order to rescue someone I don't even know that well and there is a part of me wondering what I am even doing here. I'm trying my best to stay optimistic and see the beauty around here… but this is still a terrifying experience for me, because of how strange and new and dangerous all of this is."
Cross sighed, understanding how Lindsay felt. "I know the feeling… and I'm scared too."
"You are?" she asked him.
"Yeah, I'm scared that I may never see my family again and what might happen to them if I never came back. I hate doing this to them, making them worried… but this is something that I feel like I have to do, even if it means risking my life over the most hated witch in the Isles." He looked down at the floor of the bus before he felt Lindsay patting his hand, causing him to look up to her as she gave him a reassuring smile.
"We're all in this together, right?" she asked him.
Cross gave her a nod while looking away in a blush. "Yeah… we're in this together."
The tour guide continued giving the tour. "And on your left, you'll see the statues of all of the Princes of Hell…" As he spoke, Moxxie looked out the window.
"Aw crumbs," Moxxie said.
"What?" Lilith asked him.
"We missed our exit," Moxxie told her.
Lilith frowned and raised her hand up. "Excuse me, Mr. Guide, I think we've missed our stop to the River Styx!"
Mr. Guide stopped talking and hit the breaks which caused the bus to immediately stop, causing everyone to shout and scream. He turned his head around to glare at Lilith, who looked spooked.
He got out of his seat and began walking towards the poor woman. "'Excuse me, Mr. Guide, but I think we've missed our stop to the River Styx!'" he repeated in a mocking tone before giving her a look. "What if… WHAT IF!? EVERYBODY WANTED TO SEE WHATEVER THEY WANTED TO, HMM?!" he shouted at Lilith, who backed away in fear, which caused Moxxie to be squished against the window. The guide turned to everyone on the bus. "Hey everybody! Number Nine here wants to deviate out pre-established route just so she can go and see the fucking River Styx!" He shot a glare back to Lilith, who backed away again. "WOULD IT BE ALRIGHT WITH YOU, YOUR HIGHNESS, NUMBER NINE, THAT WE JUST GO ALONG WITH OUR ORIGINAL SCHEDULE, HMM!? Would that be okay?!" He stretched his face close to hers, which made Lilith unnerved by the crazy bus driver.
Lilith gave him a nod, causing the bus driver to calm down. "Okay! I think this calls for a little break! Who's up for a grub?"
Once the driver headed back to his seat, Lilith moved over, letting Moxxie get some air. "Are you alright, Moxxie?"
"Yeah, just um… okay, we really need to get off of this bus," he whispered to her.
"I agree," Lilith nodded, while the driver headed to somewhere they could stop for some food.
Meanwhile, Lumity and Loona were following Alastor. Luz and Amity noted that while they followed the Radio Demon, a lot of Hell denizens steered clear from his path.
"Oh fuck, run!" one Sinner cried out as he rushed into and alley.
"Please, don't eat me!" an inncubus begged before his boyfriend took him out of Alastor's sight.
Luz looked at Amity. "This guy could probably put Belos in his place…" she whispered to her.
"That'd be a sight to see," Amity said before Alastor spoke up.
"Say," he said, halting the girls. "Do you hear that sweet, sounding jazz?" He turned to a blue sinner playing the saxophone. Alastor walked over and tossed him a soul coin. "Excellent as always, Mr. Johnson."
"Thanks a-bunch, Mr. Alastor, sir," Johnson said while tipping his hat to Alastor. "Mimzy gives her regards."
"Be sure to tell her the same," Alastor happily replied before continuing on his way.
"Johnson…" Luz wondered out loud, having heard this legend before. "Wait, he wouldn't happened to be-"
"Mr. Crossroads himself, Robert Johnson," Alastor confirmed. "Unfortunately, I was never able to play any of his music during my time as a radio jockey. He only participated in two recording sessions and those were after my… death."
"That does explain your shtick…" Luz commented.
"What's a… radio?" Amity asked, which caused Alastor to pause. Loona sweated nervously.
"My, you kids today not knowing what a radio is," he said while twisting his head around, making the three look fearful. "But I understand. You children are always keeping up with the latest styles and technology, especially your picture shows. I blame Velvette and Vox for that, so I'll let it slide that you don't know what a radio is."
He turned around and continued to lead the way. "So tell me, what business do you have at the banks of the River Styx, Barbara and Kara?"
Luz and Amity didn't give a real answer, Luz quickly thinking of a response. "Well… we just want to see it for ourselves."
"Yeah, I mean, we're just… tourists," Amity claimed.
"Tourists, hmm?" Alastor asked with a grin. "Usually, tourists here are just dead, we haven't had living mortals here in forever…"
"So, Mr. Radio Demon, sir," Amity spoke up, trying to change the subject. "What about yourself? You certainly seem famous around here."
"Infamous, kitten," Alastor responded. "The word you are looking for is infamous. Say, have you ever been to New Orleans? That was where I was born and raised. New Orleans, Louisiana, Ah, I remember Mardi Graus and eating all the best southern cuisine, I can still still taste the jambalaya that my sweet, dear mommy used to make… you could say that I am a food connoisseur."
"A food connoisseur?" Luz asked him.
"Of course! Say, if you ever decide to swing by New Orleans, I can recommend you the best restaurant in the city! Tiana's Palace! I remember when it first opened… oh, and another tip: I once tried pineapple on pizza which I've heard a lot of people had a problem with, but wouldn't you know it, it's not as bad as they say."
'This guy is that nuts!' Luz and Loona thought, while Amity tilted her head in confusion.
"Oh, and you know what else in New Orleans that I'm really fond of?" Alastor asked. "Vodou!"
This caused Luz and Amity to pause, which Alastor noticed.
"Oh good, you are familiar with it," Alastor said. "Vodou is quite a misunderstood practice, in my opinion. Those Friends on the Other Side aren't all too bad once you get to know them. Take the Baron, for example…"
Luz and Amity were surprised. "You mean…Baron Samedi?" Luz asked.
Alastor chuckled. "So you've met?" he asked.
"Me and Kara have," Luz admitted, surprising Loona.
"Great showman and a fun guy, especially at parties," Alastor said. "And like me, he is a deal-maker… though I am sure you already know that."
Luz paused, eyes widened while she and Amity shared a look, both of them staying silent.
"Cause if you make a deal with the Baron… he never forgets," Alastor told them. "So… what do you girls think of Hell so far?"
"Well, it's less like what I've seen from the many interpretations of it," Luz admitted.
"Yeah, I'm familiar with the concept of Hell, but even I'm surprised at how modern this place looks," Amity noted.
"Well, if you girls ever do turn up down here as permanent residents, I will give you some free advice," he said. "The best way to go about Hell… is with a smile!"
His radio mic started playing music as reality started to shift. The usual red tone of Hell changed color to blue, green, purple and black while classical music played.
"Hey, bat wing gal, hey, dapper cat, you've both got your style!" he sang to the two girls. "But sister, you're never fully dressed, without a smile!"
"Your clothes may be beau brummelly, they stand out a mile!" He waved his radio mic like a wand. Luz and Amity's outfits suddenly changed. Luz was dressed in a striped black suit with a fedora, while Amity was dressed with a pink bowler hat and long black dress with puffy short sleeves and Loona was dressed like a flapper. "But sister, you're never fully dressed, without a smile!"
The girls were surprised by their changed outfits before Alastor grabbed Luz and Amity's hands to pull them with him. Loona quickly followed to watch out for the girls' safety as they skipped along.
"Who cares what they're wearing, on main street or saville row?" He pointed to the demons and sinners passing by, all looking in fear as the three skipped along until they stopped at a lamp post. He let them go as he twirled around the post. "It's what you wear from ear to ear, and not from head to toe, that… matters….~!"
He stepped down as he twirled his mic, motioning for the girls to follow him while Loona tried to catch her breath.
"So, senator, so janitor, so long for a while!" Alastor sang while facing the trio, always smiling. "Remember you're never fully dressed, though you may wear your best… You're never fully dressed without a smile….!"
Meanwhile, Gus and Willow were seen flying their staffs, despite it being a risk of drawing attention to themselves. They decided it was worth the risk, especially when Shere Khan was in pursuit of them.
"You can fly, but you can't hide!" he declared while running after them.
"Are you sure flying is okay?" Gus asked while Willow tried to block Shere Khan's path by summoning plants, but he just burned through them.
"It's not like we have a lot of options!" Willow responded.
Shere Khan looked at them, smiling. They thought that they were safe up there while he chased after them. But years in Hell had taught this old tiger new tricks and he began to cast fire spells.
The two looked back and dodged the fire being shot at them. As Shere Khan kept going at it, a shadow suddenly got in his way. It was Sam, who turned into a large shadowy bear that roared, trying to scare off the demon tiger.
"I should be able to buy them some time to escape!" Sam said while kicking Shere Khan away.
"Hey, isn't that…?" Gus asked as he noticed the shadow.
"Amity's shadow, Sam!" Willow said as they saw the shadow blocking Shere Khan.
The Bengal tiger demon took a swipe at the shadow, who formed into a gorilla, punching the tiger demon and grabbing him in a chokehold. Shere Khan fired flames out of his mouth, forcing Sam to back away and change to her normal form.
Shere Khan then stood on two feet, his paws turning into hands. Flames engulfed him as his torso became muscular, gray with black stripes, with black shoulder spikes around. His arms became muscular as the fur on his side jaws extended. Around his waist was a flaming belt and his tail had more flames. "Presenting my ultimate form as an Overlord!" he declared, his hands shooting out magma as he aimed at the two witchlings.
Gus noticed the magma. "Look out!" he shouted as he and Willow split. "Ha! You missed!"
However, Gus definitely jinxed himself as the magma beam hit a flying demon creature. It screeched after the hit and flew down to Gus, thinking he had attacked it. Gus tried to fly away but was knocked over by the creature, sending Gus falling toward the ground.
"Gaaah!" Gus cried out as he landed on a pile of trash bags. He groaned, rolling over as he felt his shoulder hurt. "Gah! Titan," he winced before he saw a hand being offered to him.
"Are you alright, dear?" asked the woman in front of him. Gus looked up at her. She appeared to be a pale white demon with sharp white teeth showing off in her wide smile. She had completely black eyes and a really long neck with short white hair. She wore a red dress with gray shoulder pads, a black belt, and black wrist bands. She also wore a red sun hat that has two skulls and three black flowers on the front side, with a large red and black plume on the top side. Despite her appearance, she spoke to him in a kind, gentle and almost motherly manner.
"Um… thank you, ma'am," Gus responded as she helped him up. "But you gotta run! There's this crazy tiger demon-"
"Oh I'm aware," she said while glaring at Shere Khan, who stopped when he saw the woman.
"Rosie," he whispered, knowing the woman. "You better get out of my way. That mortal cub is my catch!"
"Now really, Shere Khan," Rosie responded with a disgusted look. "Going around hunting children, isn't that what got your pathetic hide killed and sent down to Hell in the first place?"
Shere Khan glared at her. "I won't make the same mistakes I did with that blasted child and that buffoon bear from long ago!"
"Well, it looks to me like history is repeating itself, isn't it?" Rosie asked with a smile. "Why don't you turn back, you don't want to keep your business waiting…"
"Either get out of my way, or I will make you!" Shere Khan threatened.
"Then so be it, you bad old putty cat!" Rosie mocked while holding her umbrella up. Shere Khan summoned a magma ball and threw it at them as she held as Rosie opened up her umbrella toward the magma hits. However, the magma didn't reach them nor the umbrella. Instead, it hit an invisible force field created by the umbrella. This shocked Gus as well as Willow, who circled back to get him.
"Tsh, should've known you'd be up to your old tricks," Shere Khan growled.
"Here, hold this," Rosie said as she handed her umbrella to Gus. "It can shield from Shere Khan's attacks."
"Um, thank you, ma'am," Gus responded while picking up his staff. "What about you?"
"Oh don't worry about me, you just run along while I put this child predator back in his place." Rosie told him while pulling out… a piece of chalk, weirdly enough.
Not wasting time, Gus flew on his staff while holding the umbrella, Willow catching up to him with her staff. "Are you alright?" she asked him, worried.
"I'm good, thanks to her," Gus responded while holding the umbrella up. "I just hope she will be fine without this…"
Willow looked down and saw Sam. "Come on, let's follow Amity's shadow!" she pointed as the two got away from the fight between two Overlords.
Khan noticed his prey getting away while glaring at Rosie. "See what you've done?! You're letting my prey get away, woman!"
Rosie just shook her head. "Unluckily for you, I am quite concerned with the wellbeing of children… and you will not harm them while I'm around," Rosie said while quickly using her chalk to draw in the air, creating a row of carousel horses that flew toward Shere Khan at a rapid speed.
The tiger Sinner tried to dodge the carousel horses, but then they circled back to hit him. "Oof!" he cried while feeling hit and bounced around by them as they flew past him. Rosie continued to use her chalk to draw fire hydrants at a rapid speed. The fire hydrants open their own hatch, shooting out water at the magma tiger.
"Bleh! Stop!" he cried as he was sprayed with water, cooling him down even if it was made of chalk. "How is that even possible?! The water is made of chalk, yet it affects me?!"
"Oh it's part of my powers, you pompous pussycat," Rosie said as she drew some more. "I'm going to remind you of your place around here. You may be a big meanie, but you are still a cat!"
As Shere Khan struggled to get up, having reverted back to his basic blue suit form, his eyes widened when he saw a large, giant mouse with boxing gloves in front of him, having been created by Rosie's magic chalk.
"You… you think that will stop me from my hunt!?" Shere Khan declared before being punched down by the mouse's boxing glove. As Shere Khan picked himself back up as he was suddenly grabbed in a tight hold by the mouse. The mouse swung Khan to slam him down onto the street left and right, making the tiger groan and scream from the attack. The mouse then stretched Shere Khan's body like clay before jumping up and down while swinging his now narrow body like skip-rope.
When the mouse boxer put Shere Khan down, he looked all banged up. He was dizzy, seeing birds flying around his head. "Alright, enough fooling around with your tomfoolery!" he declared as he marched over to Rosie. "Do you know how many businesses I'm tied to? I'm a corporate CEO of Khan Industries! And I will not be made a fool by some fancy nanny who would-"
"I'd watch my step if I were you," Rosie warned him.
"Oh don't give me that-AAAHHHHH!" Shere Khan suddenly fell into the drawn open manhole on the street. Rosie looked down, hearing Shere Khan's cries followed by the sound of splashing water.
"Tisk, tisk, the bigger they are, the easier they fall, as I would say," Rosie said as she shook her head while looking down. She then chuckled. "Oh I've made a little funny today."
Willow and Gus were following Sam, when suddenly a portal opened in front of them. They stopped as they saw someone coming out of the portal… Stolas, followed by Eda and Blitz.
"Are these the two?" Stolas asked.
"Gus! Willow!" Eda shouted in relief.
"Eda!" Willow and Gus responded, stepping down from their staffs as they went to hug her.
"We're so glad that you're okay!" Willow told her.
"I'm glad that you're safe as well," Eda responded in the hug. "Where's Luz, Amity and Loona?"
"We got separated, then chased by this big tiger demon until this nice lady saved us," Gus responded while holding up the umbrella. "How'd you find us?"
"Well we had to go to an old acquaintance of mine for help," Blitz said as he pointed to Stolas. "Meet the current reincarnation of Stolas of the Ars Goetia."
"Nice to meet you, children, and I am so sorry for what you have gone through," Stolas apologized. "Thankfully through using my grimoire, I was able to find you."
"And it's good that you did, Stolas," Rosie spoke up as she caught up to them. "And don't you worry about Shere Khan, he won't be bothering anyone for a while."
"Ah, Rosie, pleasure to see you again," Stolas commented.
"No bleeding tits way!" Blitz exclaimed as he went over to shake Rosie's hand. "You're Rosie! Of the Franklin and Rosie's Emporium, I just love your store!"
"Yes, nice to meet you, Mr…?"
"Blitzø, but the 'o' is silent," Blitz responded. "I have been thinking of doing a little gig myself, gonna start my own business and make a name for myself, already have my first hire!"
"Yes well, I wish you luck on that," Rosie responded as Gus handed her umbrella back to her.
"Here's your umbrella back, ma'am," Gus told her.
"Why thank you, young man," Rosie responded politely.
"We should thank you, really," Eda said while noticing that the end of her umbrella looked… bird shaped.
"Oh it's no problem, dear. I've always had a soft spot for children of all kinds," Rosie declared while strolling along. "I'll leave you to find the rest of your friends!"
As Gus and Willow entered the portal, Eda looked at Rosie one more time before the portal closed. "Did that lady feel familiar to you?"
"What do you mean?" Willow asked.
"Just… nevermind, let's go find the others," Eda said while Stolas's eyes glowed and he used his grimoire to track down the other mortals that had used one of his portals to get to Hell.
Meanwhile, the bus Lilith and her group were on had stopped at a fast food joint. This gave an opportunity for the others to refuel.
Lilith held up a bag of food while walking with Moxxie. A white-haired succubus in a white short dress and black thigh-high boots eyed her and walked over. "Hey… never seen you around here before…"
"Um, sorry, but I'm not interested," Lilith said while trying to walk past her, but the succubus blocked her way.
"Oh, come now, don't you want a… bite?" she asked, stroking Lilith's hair…
"Hey! Back off!" Moxxie told her while pulling his glock from his coat.
Seeing this, the succubus scoffed. "Whatever, should've known a cougar like her had some young imp…" she muttered.
"Verosika, come on!" spoke one succubus girl, who was waiting with a group of succubi and incubi at a table.
"I'm coming! Fuck…" Verosika said while walking to her group's table, leaving Lilith and Moxxie alone.
Lilith looked down at Moxxie. "Thank you, Moxxie."
"No problem, better be careful around succubi and incubi around here. They will jump at the chance to use anyone for their own pleasure."
"You don't have to tell me twice," she said while looking down. "I've… already had an experience with one. She drugged my food along with an old friend's food in order to get us to have an… affair with each other."
Moxxie was shocked by this. "Gosh, I'm… I'm very sorry, Lilith. That shouldn't have happened to you."
"Thank you," Lilith said with a nod. "Odalia, the old friend, was an ex-girlfriend of mine. She's Amity's mother and while the two of us have been seeing each other more lately, when our affair was exposed, it resulted in Odalia's divorce from her husband," she said with a sigh. "That succubus was responsible for ruining our lives. And I hate what this has done to Odalia. I don't know where we even stand right now…" She crossed her arms. While it was true that her feelings for her ex had recently been reignited, she doubted there was any hope of them getting back together. Especially after this humiliation.
"Oh crumbs… that's fucked up," Moxxie responded while looking down. "At least you were on good terms with your ex. Mine just left me while I needed him the most. I hate him for doing that to me."
"Were you two… close?" Lilith asked him.
"I was in love with the way he swooned his eyes at me," Moxxie admitted before sighing. "But in the end, Chazwick cared more about himself than the people he goes inside in many ways. He really has that effect on people." He looked down sadly, causing Lilith to kneel down to his level and pat his shoulder.
"I'm sorry that he left you," Lilith told him. "Someone left me once as well… and after that I tried to bury myself in my work. But having been in your position, if I had any advice to give you… don't let that experience make you bitter. Because I am sure that somewhere, there is someone out there for you."
Moxxie smiled. "Thanks, Lilith."
Lilith nodded while she looked at the kids, noticing Hunter being confronted by a female Hellhound.
"Hey, never seen you around here before," she spoke to him, tapping under his chin. "Got a name, cutie?"
"Um, I'm not that cute, really," Hunter said as he tried to back away but she pursued him.
"Why don't we get to know each other… more…" she said while grinning her fangs at him, making Hunter uncomfortable.
"Um… I'm just not interested..." Hunter said.
The Hellhound girl paused. "Wait, you smell weird…"
"Hey," Lilith said as she got in between them, glaring at the Hellhound girl. "Leave my son alone, mutt!" she snarled at her, baring her own fangs. "He's not interested in girls."
The Hellhound girl backed away. "Girls? Fuck… I'm just… gonna go that way," she said while walking away.
Hunter looked up to Lilith. "Thank you, Lilith."
"It's no problem," Lilith responded while patting his head. "Um… about that… son part-"
"I don't mind it, really," Hunter reassured her. "It is our cover story while traveling through Hell, right? Female demon and her adopted Hellhound son?"
Lilith smiled and nodded. "Right."
Once Lilith and Hunter met up with the rest of their group, Moxxie gave them the plan.
"Okay, here's the plan," Moxxie told them. "Once everyone starts to go back to the bus, we're gonna high-tail out of here."
"Yeah, let's not stick around with that crazy bus driver," Boscha said.
"Just be sure that we got everyone," Lilith said while patting Edgar.
Lindsay and Boscha held up their respective Palismen, but Hunter looked around for his. "Flapjack? Where are you?" he said while looking to see Flapjack was still on the bus, looking at them through the window. "Crap, I'm gonna go get him!" he said, rushing over.
"Wait, Hunter!" Boscha shouted as she chased after him.
"You three go ahead, we'll catch up!" Moxxie told while he went after Boscha and Hunter, leaving Lilith with Lindsay and Cross.
As Hunter, Boscha, and Moxxie got on the bus with the rest of the group, Mr. Guide was doing headcount. "Number seven?"
"Here."
"Number Eight?".
"Here!"
"Number Nine?" he asked, but got no answer. "Number Nine, you are called." He looked up from his clipboard and noticed that three were missing from his group. He also noticed Moxxie, Boscha, and Hunter, who was holding up Flapjack. The tour guide looked deflated, shocked to see three missing people on his tour! "WHERE'S NUMBER NINE, ELEVEN, AND TWELVE?!" he demanded while confronting them. "NOBODY LEAVES THIS BUS UNTIL THE TOUR'S OVER! WHERE ARE THEY?!" He grabbed Hunter and Moxxie by their collars. "TALK! TALK WHERE THEY ARE, YOU HOT PIECES OF GARBAGE!"
"Um… well you see… they just… um…" Moxxie said nervously.
"Left…?" Hunter answered, which caused the goat demon to let them go.
"Left?" Mr. Guide was giving a long stare as he walked away from them. "How could they just leave without thinking of the consequences?" he asked softly. "If word gets out, I'll be ruined! I have a wife and two kids to think of, you know?" he said while pulling up a picture. Boscha, Hunter. Flapjack, and Moxxie looked at the picture, only to see it was just a picture of a bowl of fruit… they knew they had to leave ASAP. "Where does that leave them, huh? WHY?!" he asked while, unknown to him, Moxie and the witches were sneaking out through the window.
"Doesn't anyone think of my own family?!" he asked before turning around only to see Moxxie pushing Hunter and Boscha out. "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU THREE DOING?!"
"Pull me out, pull me out, pull me out!" Moxxie cried while Hunter and Boscha pulled him out of the bus.
"WAIT A SECOND, YOU THREE!" Mr. Guide shouted at them from the window. "GET YOUR FATASSES BACK IN THE BUS THIS INSTANT!" he demanded while they just ran away, ignoring him. "No, don't you ignore me! Please, come back, we won't talk about this! NOOOO! COME BACK!"
Lilith, Lindsay and Cross saw the three running over to them. "Let's get the fuck out of here!" Boscha shouted as they ran, hearing the sound of the bus turning around and following them.
"COME BACK HERE!" Mr. Guide shouted at them while driving the bus.
"This guy is crazy!" Cross declared while riding on Lindsay's staff. Boscha and Lilith each got on theirs, while Hunter had Moxxie ride on his staff.
"Welcome to Hell!" Moxxie shouted as they flew away from the mad bus driver.
"RAAAAAHH!" the mad bus driver screamed while the people inside the bus also screamed in a panic.
Lilith looked ahead and saw a portal opening up. She spotted her sister looking out the portal with Blitz and Stolas.
"Come in! Come in!" Stolas hurried them as they flew through his portal. His portal then closed in front of the bus.
The bus stopped and Mr. Guide got out, looked around, and knelt over while raising his fists up. "NOOOOOOOOOOOO!"
Meanwhile, Alastor continued to lead the girls before he suddenly stopped.
"Boy this walk has probably made your mouths dry, don't you think?" he asked them. "How about we stop for a drink? I know a good bar with a good bitter taste that I can fancy!" He gestured to a bar they were now in front of as he turned to the girls. "Would you young ladies care for a drink?"
"Uh… no, we're underage," Luz responded.
"I could use one," Loona admitted.
"Aren't you also underage as well?" Amity asked.
"When am I too young to drink in Hell?"
"...This place is messed up," Amity said as Loona ran up to the bar, only to be stopped by the bouncer.
"Whoa, sorry but you can't come in," the bouncer spoke to Loona.
"What!? Can't I get a drink?!" Loona spat.
"Read the sign." He pointed to the 'No Dogs Allowed' sign, which appalled Loona and Lumity, "You'll just have to make due over that bar." He pointed to a smaller bar for Hellhounds.
"Fucking kidding me right now?!" Loona snarled.
"Come on, Loona, we'll join you," Luz offered. "Probably better than that dirty place."
"You kids prefer a Hellhound bar over here?" the bouncer scoffed.
"Better there than going to a bar full of folks with chlamydia," Amity told him off.
The bouncer was angered by this. "Why you little-" But he was stopped when the Radio Demon walked in front of him, making him incredibly nervous. "Uh… having a good day, sir?"
"Depends…" the Radio Demon said with his smile.
It was then that someone got thrown out of the bar through the window, earning the attention of the girls. They saw that it was a very drunk-looking Sinner with a beard and trenchcoat.
"Fucking Christ," he groaned while he got up, showing his drunken pale face. "Dammit, those punks… do they know who the fuck I am?! I was a damn explorer for Christ's sake!"
"My, oh my, are you alright, Gabe?" Alastor asked as he brushed the drunk off. "Here, let me help you up, you old drunkard! I've told you to stay away from the liquor here, they're not as light here as you would usually have!" he said while the man named Gabe just threw up on the ground.
"Looks like this guy can't hold his liquor," Loona commented while Luz and Amity looked closer at the man Alastor was helping up.
Luz narrowed her eyes at the man, who looked… familiar to her. "Gabe…?"
"I betcha this fellow couldn't get past these Gates!" Alastor joked.
"Yeah, yeah, I know I'm a Gates," Gabriel Belmont Gates responded as he pulled away from Alastor.
Luz and Amity gasped, Luz walking over to him. "Hold up, are you saying that you're the G. B. Gates?"
Gabriel looked at Luz, perking up. "Why yes, young lass. I am Gabriel Belmont Gates, famous witch hunter. From what I hear, they have named a town after me." He smiled. "So you've heard of my work?"
"Heard of it? I've read your book," Luz pointed out, which surprised Gabe.
"The War of Witchcraft?" Gabriel asked and Luz nodded. "Yes, they had my research published for future witch hunters to read! Say, what's your name, kid?"
Luz smirked. "Clawthorne."
Gabriel's eyes widened as he looked at the Dominican witch girl. "Oh shit…" Luz then kicked him between his legs, causing him to gasp before meeting a fist to the face by her cambion fist.
"Time to eat the curb, bitch," Luz said as she continued to kick and stomp the crap out of Gabriel, causing him to scream as the teenage cambion beat him up.
Loona winced. "Something tells me he deserves this…"
"Kick his ass, Luz!" Amity cheered.
Alastor just smiled in approval while watching Luz stomping on the old witch hunter. He chuckled, getting his entertainment for the day…
Amity eventually decided to join Luz in beating the crap out of Gabriel. Loona watched the girls having their own fun for a bit longer before walking over to the bar.
"Loona! You wanna join in on this?" Luz asked.
"Nah, I'll be getting a drink, you two enjoy yourselves," Loona told them before she entered the Hellhound bar alone.
She looked around, finding the place full of Hellhounds like her talking amongst themselves, not even seeming to notice that she walked in. Loona felt very nervous and even out of place, despite this place being for her own kind.
Calming herself, Loona walked up to the bar, where she spotted a large, lupine Hellhound teenager with monotone gray fur similar to hers, only darker. He appeared to be muscular and had a black fur pattern on his left arm in the shape of a wolf's head, wore a ripped jacket with glowing red spikes and a black undershirt, and ripped gray jeans.
She sat beside him. "So uh… anything good around here?"
"Oh, they just have the best steak, freshly caught too," he responded. "You new around here?"
"Yeah, I was just passing through," Loona responded while turning around. "I'm Loona."
"Vortex, but friends call me Tex," Tex responded while Loona hid her blush.
"Texy! Sorry that I was late!" spoke up a bouncing Hellhound girl that makes Loona's eyes widen. She had cotton candy-haired hair and mainly white fur, pinkish scalera eyes over her green irises. She wore a light-blue short-short and yellow skirt with cotton candy trims around her wrists and ankle paws. "Traffic was bad! Apparently because of some big cat on the loose."
"I am just glad you got here alright, Kajedo," Tex replied as the two kissed.
"Oh…" Loona said while deciding to stand up.
"Hey there!" Kajedo greeted her. "I'm Kajedo! Never seen you around before,"
"Yeah, I um… nice to meet you," Loona replied, feeling embarrassed. "I'm just… getting a drink and leaving."
"Oh, okay. Come on Tex, let's party!" Kajedo cheered while Loona just looked down at the counter and her drink as the bartender gave her it.
"Here, you'll need this," he told her while Loona grabbed her drink with a sigh before paying the bartender. She sat alone at the bar with her drink, suddenly feeling very lonely...
Sometime later, Loona came out, drunk after having more than a few drinks. She barfed on the ground before hearing her name called.
"Loony!" Blitz shouted as he rushed over to hug his daughter. With him were Stolas and Eda. "Oh my baby girl, I've been so worried sick!" He noticed she was drunk. "Oh Loony, you're drunk! How many times do I have to tell you to stay away from the angel's poison?!"
Eda just shook her head in disapproval.
"Relax, the girls are safe… with the Radio Demon," Loona said as she drunkenly pointed to Luz and Amity, who were finishing with Gabriel while Alastor accompanied them.
"Ah, they must belong to you!" Alastor said, greeting Eda.
Eda looked concerned as she cautiously approached the Radio Demon. "Y-You must be the Radio Demon I once… heard about…"
"And your reputation in Hell and the mortal realm speaks volume! Why I've been dying to meet you!" Alastor shouted.
"Yeah… that was some spring break…" Eda replied nervously.
"And Stolas, good to see you, my boy!" Alastor greeted. "How's the wife doing?"
"The usual," Stolas replied dryly.
"HAHAHA! Of course she is! Might I suggest putting her in a cage? She'll squawk all she can while you can leave the newspaper under for her!" Alastor suggested as he and Stolas have a laugh together.
"Mom/Eda?" Luz and Amity asked as they turned to see Eda by the portal, leaving Gabriel as they rushed over to her.
"Kids!" Eda opened her arms and the two hugged her. "Oh thank Titan, are you two alright? You're not hurt anywhere, are you?"
"We're fine, mom!" Luz reassured her.
"Yeah, Mr. Alastor helped us out," Amity responded.
"He did?" Eda asked in surprise, looking at the smiling Radio Demon.
"You don't have to worry about them, I made sure that nobody touched a hair on their heads. Though I can't say about that little pup's condition," he said as he pointed to Loona, who just barfed again.
"Um, thank you for watching the girls for us, um… uh, Mr. Radiohead- uh, Radio Demon, sir," Blitz said nervously while helping Loona up.
"No problem, and I must say, that prison break you pulled had me in stitches! I think I'll like to see what mess you'll create next, Blitzø," Alastor commented politely.
Gabriel crawled away while everyone was talking. He struggled to escape into an alley while trying to not be spotted. He was broken all over, as if he wasn't already…
"I must say it has been a delight to meet you all," Alastor told them while turning to the girls.
"It was nice to meet you too, sir," Amity nodded politely.
"Yeah, even if you are a bit… off putting, you genuinely did want to seem to help us, so thanks for that," Luz commented.
"Off putting. Ha! I get that a lot, but lucky for you I don't eat children! They don't taste as tender as the grown-ups! Not enough evil to satisfy my hunger!" Alastor admitted. "Goodbye now, you two… oh, and I almost forgot, might I have a word with you, Barbara?"
Eda looked concerned, but Luz gave her a nod of reassurance. "Don't worry, mom, I won't be long," she told her while walking with Alastor.
"So, what is it that you want me for, Al?" she asked him once they were alone.
"Al? Huh, that's the first I've been called," Alastor replied with his usual manner. "Anyway, I wish to ask you something before you go… do you wonder why my sinner form is a deer…?"
"Oh… is that what you're supposed to be? I mean, no offense, but I assumed you were a fox," Luz admitted.
"Well, the thing is… the Baron is not my only… inspiration," Alastor said while whispering to her ear, his mic glowing.
Luz's eyes widened as suddenly she had a vision of the past…
Back when he was alive, Alastor was by day doing his radio show hosting. But by night, he was shown going after unsuspecting folks, killing and slaughtering them…
Behind him was a dark figure with antlers, with his piercing red eyes staring at him.
Alastor looked at the horned figure, inspired by the horrors and madness. Eventually he was shot dead by an African-American woman with black hair, light-brown eyes, 1930s clothing, and a shotgun, sending him down to Hell. The deer-like Sinner crawls down to his victims, showing his bizarre grin and his sharp teeth.
He devoured his enemies, eating them as if they were the poach of the day. He even devoured Overlords in an attempt to satisfy his hunger.
"Devour...Devour….̴̡͉͙͉͚͖͂͌̑̾̽͝D̶̙̺̱̮̗̍̂͊̅͊̾̾Ẻ̴̡̩̕V̶̨̩̻̭͓͗̂̀Ô̵̧͕͓̣̰̳͗͝͠U̶̠̲͉̅̔͐̏̄̄̄R̴̨͓͇̣̮̥̋͛͛̈́͗͝!̵͚̤̗̈́̅͑!̸̘̙̠̮̭̓͋͊̿͘!̵̰̓̾̌̊͗̓͝ͅ"̴̜̜͔̯͙̼̀͐̋̏
Luz gasped, left speechless by what she had seen.
Alastor was still smiling as he leaned into her ear. "Next time you see the Horned King, give him my regards!" he declared before he turned around and began walking away while whistling a tune, leaving a traumatized-looking Luz.
"Luz… are you okay?" Amity asked her, walking up to her.
"Y-Yeah, just… need to sit down," Luz responded while Amity held her hand.
"Come on, let's go," Amity replied while leading Luz into the portal Stolas had created.
Once Lumity stepped through the portal, they found their friends waiting for them in the suite of a resort.
"Gus! Willow! You guys are okay!" Luz exclaimed while she and Amity went up to hug the two.
"We're glad that you two are safe!" Willow responded.
"Yeah! Sam found us while we were being chased by some demon tiger, but thankfully this nice lady with an umbrella helped us out!" Gus revealed.
"Thank Titan you two are alright!" Boscha shouted. "We were almost run over by a crazy tour guide."
"Yeah, never taking that tour again if I end up being sent here," Hunter said.
"But… why do you think you would be sent to Hell?" Lindsay asked, giving Hunter pause.
"Thankfully Stolas found us and brought us to this room," Lilith said.
"Where are we even, exactly?" Luz asked, looking around while Amity reunited with her shadow.
"You are in the Triton Resort, which belongs to my cousin Gaap, whom I asked if I could use one of the resort's suites for the day," Stolas explained.
"We're also near the River Styx, since this resort is at the outer circles of the Pride Ring," Blitzø added.
"Really? That's great!" Luz stated.
"About that, let me ask you all one thing…" Stolas said while giving a serious look. "Just what were you all thinking of coming here?! Especially going out of your way to head down to the Underworld to challenge Hades's trouble-making daughter, Melione?! And in her own domain?!"
Startled by his outbursts, Amity spoke up first. "It's very important that we do, sir. Mel has kidnapped our brothers and two other witch boys, taking them down to the Underworld."
"Blitz has already filled me in about it," Stolas told them "But what you're doing is too dangerous, especially for mortals. I am sure that Hades will not let this stand when he finds out what his daughter has done, but you all need to be sent back to the Demon Realm immediately before you cause any more trouble."
"Hold up, hold up," Cross spoke up, getting in front of the Ars Goetia prince. "You can't just send us back after we have already come so far."
"He's right, and Mel also sent a mortal girl, Emily, down to the Underworld for eternal punishment," Lindsay mentioned.
"What?!" Stolas questioned. "Oh this is not good…"
"Look, you royal pompous birdbrain," Boscha spoke up, causing Moxxie and Lilith to look at her in shock. "We're not planning to be sent home without getting my friends' brothers back! So you better fucking let us go to the Underworld and get Ed, King, those two brothers, and… ugh, Emily or so help me I will tie your body in a net and use you for grudgeby practice!" she shouted while glaring at Stolas.
"She's right," Eda said while crossing her arms. "That crazy goddess took my son and I am not going back until I make sure that he's safe and sound. So if you wish to have a problem with that, I won't hesitate to fight you while I'm at my worst," she said while changing her arm into her harpy arm.
"Yeah, if you plan on sending us back, you better be prepared for the Clawthorne's wrath!" Luz shouted as she went full cambion form. She and Eda in her full Harpy form both glared at Stolas.
"So what's it going to be, your highness?" Eda snarled.
Stolas was taken aback, "My… I can see why Blitzy admires you, Owl Lady. Both you and your daughter have spirit… you are both incredibly stupid, but you also have spirit," Stolas said. "That goes for you too, little pink witchlet." He pointed to Boscha as he sighed. "Very well, I guess I can't convince you otherwise. If you are all determined to head down to the Underworld, then I will help you to the River Styx." He heard them cheer. "However, taking you to the River Styx will be as far as I go. The Underworld, after all, is outside of my domain. But for the moment, I suggest that you all rest up and refuel to regain your strength for your trip to the Underworld."
"Yeah, I do feel kinda hungry," Willow admitted.
"Is the food here good?" Gus asked.
"Don't worry, I'll be sure to order you some meals that are… digestible for mortals," Stolas promised.
Everyone agreed to this as Stolas prepared to have some meals be sent up to them. As they waited, Luz excused herself to the bathroom. Once she closed the door behind her, she looked at the mirror in front of her. Her eyes turned red in her reflection.
"Luz, sorry that I've been silent all the way since we got here," Maya said. "I figured that the last thing you needed was me getting you into trouble and it's just… I'm a little…"
"Scared? Yeah," Luz said, nodding.
"Are we going to tell them, Luz?" Maya asked her. "About what that Radio Demon guy showed us? I think… that was the thing that tried to devour my soul…"
"I know, we should. But right now, we need to focus on saving King, Ed, and those two other boys Mel took right now," Luz reassured her. "We can deal with this… Horned King afterwards."
Maya just glared at the ground. "I don't like that we have to keep it a secret, Luz. But you're right, we need to focus on the mission first. I can accept that."
Luz gave her a nod before she exited the bathroom.
Later, everyone had separated into different bedrooms to get some rest. Blitz checked in on Loona in her room, his Hellhound daughter fast asleep from her hangover. He locked the door so that he and Eda could have a moment to talk.
"Blitz, we need to talk… about your daughter," Eda said to him.
"Lu Lu? What's she got you concerned about?" Blitz asked.
"I have noticed a few things since meeting her," Eda responded with a glare. "For one, I found her in the Demon Realm on her own because you were in prison for who knows how long. Then, both of you don't have cellphones due to your paranoia, and now we found her getting drunk at a bar despite being underage!" she listed off. "All of these are huge red flags! Does your daughter even have any stability in her life? Does she even go to school?!"
"Look Eda, I did my best I could under the circumstances," Blitz claimed. "Look, we're in Hell, you have no idea what it's like…"
"I actually do," Eda hissed intensively, startling Blitz. "I know exactly what it's like to be a single parent having to raise kids under less than ideal circumstances. I have had to make many compromises and sacrifices to give them the best life possible… look, does she at least have any friends?"
"Well, she has me, of course!" Blitz responded. "And Octavia! And… um… I honestly don't know."
"This is concerning, Blitz," Eda told him. "I fear she may go down a path that you can't afford to lose her in. You have to do something, for your daughter's sake. You don't want history to repeat itself, right? Especially when she got stabbed by that Hellhound because she went after Cruella on her own."
Blitz's eyes widened as he realized Eda was right, especially since he was still upset about Loona sneaking off and finding her drunk. He tightened his fists while looking down.
"You may be right, Eda," Blitz responded with a sigh. "You know, I never expected you to be the responsible mother hen type."
"And I never expected you to be a dad," Eda pointed out. "But the thing about kids… they change us. And hopefully, it is for the better."
Soon, the mortal witches were prepared to leave the resort. They were at the lobby except for Loona, who had been left behind in her room. The witches were absolutely in awe of the lobby, which was a gigantic, luxurious hall that was composed of shades of blue and green with walls that were covered in multiple paintings and mosaics. There were also fish tanks full of tropical fish, exotic plants decorating the corners, and a large fountain doubling as a koi pond at the center of the lobby, with a statue of a mermaid pouring water out of a dragon's skull at the top of the fountain.
Stolas, Blitz, and Moxxie were at the check-in desk, where they were met by a succubus bellhop that was about the same height as the two imps. She had a bellhop hat, white hair, pink iris eyes, green straps and pants that was missing a leg, showing off her tattoos on her right bare arm and left bare leg with purple boots and one green arm-glove… and that was it.
"Thank you for your stay at the Triton Resort!" the bellhop succubus told them. "I hope that you decide to come back! Especially you, cutie…" She winked at Moxxie, who laughed nervously.
"Hehe, yeah, we'll… keep that in mind," Moxxie responded shyly.
"Or at least give a recommendation to your friends," spoke the Spaniel Hellhound woman that was behind the front desk. She had white irises over her red eyes, black eyeliner, and small rectangular glasses held over her muzzle. She had brown spots over her light fur, with brown fur ears like her hair, and she was wearing a green suit coat with a velvet tie with blue dress shirt, a name-tag that read 'Margaret', dark green skirt, and gray leggings. She was writing in the checkout book until Prince Gaap walked up.
"Now, Margaret, perhaps we can keep Stolas's guests… off the book," he purred to her. Gaap was a tall Goetian demon with light-brown skin, long goat-ears and dark brown horns and gray hair with a white stripe in the center of it. He had red eyes with yellow narrow pupils, wore a green coat with a long cowl, pink dress shirt underneath with a purple tie, and he was holding a cane. He also wore purple short pants with a red waist belt wrapped around.
Margaret's tail wagged slightly as she hid her blush. "Of course, sir. I'll keep this off the books," she told him while crossing it off from the checkout book.
"I can't thank you enough, Gaap, you've really helped me out here, especially on such a short notice," Stolas thanked his cousin.
"It's no problem, everyone is welcome at the Triton Resort, after all," Gaap declared while eyeing on Eda and Lilith. "Especially those fine women I see here…"
"Uh, I don't think-" Stolas spoke up, but Gaap ignored him as he made his way over to Eda and Lilith. "Oh boy…"
"My, you ladies should come back in the future for a longer stay," Gaap spoke to the Clawthorne sisters. "Why I could give you foxy ladies the VIP rooms if you wish…"
"Oh great…" Eda muttered. "Look pal, you may be a nice guy and all…"
While Gaap flirted with Eda and Lilith, Blitz crawled up to the front desk, facing Margaret "So… do you guys have any um… free positions? Like, openings for staff…?"
Lindsay looked around the resort. "Wow, this place is so nice," Lindsay said.
"Yeah, and the breakfast here is delicious," Gus added. "All that running from that crazy tiger got me hungry."
Amity suddenly burped, which caused her to cover her mouth in embarrassment. "Sorry, they had cola here…"
"Where's Loona?" Willow asked while looking around.
"Oh she's still in her room having a hangover, but Blitz says it's fine," Luz informed her.
"Alright, kids, let's move out," Eda said as she led the others out of the resort.
Once they headed out, they stopped to get a look at the exterior of the Triton Resort.
"Wow… are we really still in Hell?" Hunter asked.
"Or Cancun." Eda whistled.
"You don't see stuff like this in the Isles…" Cross commented as they got a good look at the resort.
The resort was a tall, thirteen-story building that could have originally come from a tropical paradise. Its outer ivory white walls were made entirely of mosaic tiles. Each corner of the roof had an intimidating gargoyle looking down at the guests below, while the windows were outlined with emerald vine and palm leaf patterns. Finally, the front entrance consisted of a large semi-circle road for drop-offs, surrounding a lush centerpiece composed of flowers and a large fountain in the shape of a mermaid, after which guests would step out onto the stone path leading to the front doors. The large walkway was covered by a green glass roof and surrounded by white sand and polished marble pillars with carvings that depicted voluptuous women and tiki statues before reaching the golden revolving doors at the very end.
"I wonder if this Gaap guy would be interested in expanding these resorts to the Demon Realm…" Luz said out loud.
Nearby the water-themed resort was the River Styx itself and once they finally made it to the shores of the River Styx, they spotted a huge cruise ship coming by. Lilith and Hunter were in awe of the ship, which was not like the ones in the Boiling Isles that were owned by the Emperor's Coven. The ship came to a stop and a ramp descended. Down the ramp came the ship's ferryman, who appeared to be dressed as a captain but had a black robe over his shadowy face with his eyes only being white dots. He wore a captain's hat and shorts that exposed his skeletal legs.
"Greetings from the Underworld!" he said to them. "I am Captain Charon, the ferryman to the Underworld. If any of you wish to take a trip to visit the Underworld, bring out a token to cash it in!"
"I have one!" Luz held up her token. "These guys are with me, and I must say, I expected a ferryman to the Underworld a little..."
"Grim? I know, but then I realized long ago that being all grim and sinister just scares away customers, so I overhauled my small spooky boat into a big cruise ship, took palates and reinvented myself! It was all Persephone's idea, really," he said. Charon looked at the token, inspecting it. "Ah… I see, it's all good then! You all can come, well except for Hellborns, they have to stay." He pointed to Blitz, Moxxie, and Stolas.
"Well, guess this is as far as we go," Blitz commented while turning to them. "Eda, it was nice to see you again and meet your family."
"And be careful when you're in the Underworld," Moxxie advised.
"Hey, don't worry, we'll watch ourselves," Luz reassured them.
"And we'll get back my son," Eda said.
"And my brother," Amity added.
"Not to mention those two guys," Gus pointed out.
"And Emily," Lindsay said while Luz just shrugged at that.
"Please, try not to get killed down there," Stolas told them. "And whatever you do, don't dive into the River Styx. No one other than a God could survive down there or swim back up."
"Noted," Luz said. "And hey, maybe after this you guys can visit the Isles sometime if you're not busy. And bring Loona along with you."
"Yeah, hard to say goodbye without her here," Amity said.
"Oh don't worry, I'll be sure she gets the message," Blitz said while the Boiling Isles witches headed up to the ship, the three Hellborns waving to them. "Good luck in the Underworld!"
"I'll be sure to write songs about you guys if you survive! Or even if you don't!" Moxxie declared.
The Owl family and their friends waved goodbye to them as they got on the ship, which soon set off down the River Styx.
On the deck of the ship, Boscha ignored the various spirits floating around as she looked out at the water and saw that the sky was getting darker. "Well, this has been an interesting… however long we have been down here," she said. "Hope my family isn't too worried."
"We'll make it home safe, Boscha," Amity promised as the others joined Boscha. "Right after we show Mel that she can't just take whatever she wants without consequence…"
Gus leaned back on the railing and sighed. "So glad that I didn't run into Michael."
"Michael?" Lindsay asked. "Who's Michael?"
Gus looked nervous, so Willow quickly answered. "A… Tarot Guild member that… was picking on Gus. He ended up being killed during a bust."
"Oh," Lindsay responded. "Sorry to bring it up."
"It's fine, just… glad that I didn't run into him," Gus said with a sigh of relief.
"Honestly, we should all consider ourselves lucky we didn't run into any of our old enemies," Eda pointed out. "Like the Boss."
"Or Craig," Lilith suggested.
"Or… Riff," Hunter added.
"Man, you guys have a lot of enemies…" Cross commented.
Luz nodded. "Yeah, good thing we didn't cross paths with them. Because that would have been very dramatically inconvenient…"
Somewhere in Hell, a group of familiar villains were shown playing cards in a building. The villains were a small squid known as Adegast, Craig who had a burnt face, McScream who had half of his head missing, the former Boss of the Tarot Guild who smelled like cooked ham, Pinlet who was now purple, and finally one big large scout who looked frozen, Riff.
"Does anyone feel like we missed something?" McScream asked, looking at the others. They just shrugged.
"I fold," Pinlet said.
Loona groaned as she woke up, feeling her head as she made it out of her room. "Aw… fuck, I hate that I got a hangover," she muttered while looking at Blitz, who was waiting for her..
"Here, drink this," Blitz said as she handed her a cup, which she drank from. "This stuff is going to help you, it is a special remedy I used to make when I want to forget my troubles…"
Loona looked green when drinking the remedy. "BAH! Fuck… where's Luz and the others?"
"Oh they already left, but Luz says she hopes to see us again," Blitz answered.
"Really? Dammit," Loona said in disappointment. "I didn't get to say goodbye…"
Blitz shifted his eyes down, then looked up to his daughter. "Okay, Loona, we need to talk. I have been doing some thinking and I think there's going to have to be some changes on how we do things."
"Changes?" Loona asked him.
"Well, it's just a few, but… one of those changes is that… you're getting a job," Blitz said.
Loona's eyes widened. "WHAT?!"
As the cruise ship departed from the Pride Ring, a familiar figure watched from the shores of the River Styx. It was none other than Alastor.
"And there they go, off to the other side," Alastor said while grinning. "You know, I love a good cliffhanger… just like the ones in the old radio serials!" He then turned around, facing-
Wait… why is he looking at this direction-
"̴̗͆S̸̑ͅT̸̘̏Ä̵̖́Y̴̝͘ ̸̝͛T̵͚̔U̴̟͑N̸̜̔Ȇ̴̝D̶͖́,̷͕̎ ̶̨͋F̸̰̒Ọ̷̾L̵͙̒Ḱ̷̫S̸̙̀.̸̣̐.̷̹̕.̷̲̈́"̸̣͂
As the story of Luz Clawthorne's saga continues, another story's just the beginning…
Loona is shown dressed in uniform, a blue blouse with a navy-blue tie, wears cargo shorts while sporting a bored look when she sees herself in the mirror.
"Oh Loony, you look wonderful!" Blitz declares with a smile. "You've made my daddy proud in this new job of yours!"
"Great…" Loona said, trying to put on a brave face.
Yeah, this was a backdoor pilot…
Cruella is shown smoking her cigar, sitting beside an Overlord who smokes his own.
"I wonder what happened to my son? He should have come back to me right about now!" Cruella declared while having a displeased look.
"I'm sure that your son will… turn up eventually." spoke the red fur coated pimp with his own cigar, with the women on his lap… Valentino.
"Pleasure doing business with you," Shere Khan extends his hand to his new employer "Mr. Blitz."
"Likewise, Mr. Khan." Blitz respond while shaking the tiger demon's hand nervously.
Loona was at the Triton Resort, as Bella is seen talking with her.
Crimson is shown with his men, starring at someone before he snaps his fingers. Stu shuts the trunk of the car.
A scene shown Moxxie and Loona running while during a shootout. Loona grabs Moxxie, as she kicks a desk out of the window for them to jump out of.
"Moxxie! You gotta meet my new boo!" Chazwick told the annoyed imp, while calling for his date "Millie! Come in!"
Moxxie looks and saw the red imp woman of his height, having long, wild black hair, a beauty mark, black lips and wore a black dress.
"Hi, I'm Millie," she greets him, "It's not every day you meet your boyfriend's ex!"
A mermaid sinner is shown at a lounge, singing in front of an audience.
Loona spots Octavia waving to her, as with her is Linda.
Stolas stands by while Loona tries out a spell she learns from one of his spellbooks.
"You do have some potential," Stolas told her with a smile.
"Hey dad, I'm off to work, so can I-" As Loona turns to the living room, she is met with the sight of Blitz making out with Stolas on the couch. "FUCKING LUCIFER! Not on the couch!"
"Lu Lu! Um… we were just doing…!" Blitz tries to explain but Loona head out, looking grossed out. "Come on, Loona! There's nothing wrong in seeing your old man with another!"
"Old?" Stolas questions.
"Oh you know what I mean." he respond with a wave.
HELLUVA DAD
Coming into the Triton Resort, are two women that makes the employees look surprised. Loona's eyes widen at them as well.
"Wow… this resort's amazing!" spoke the blond, pale skinned girl in a red suit, along with her mother. They are… Charlie and Lilith Morningstar.
Coming soon…
Yeah, that's right. Coming soon we will be working on a Luz Clawthorne spin-off, starring your favorite characters from Hell. Helluva Dad will be coming soon sometime in 2023. However, it would have its chapter release similar to how Helluva Boss releases it's episodes.
Now, some OCs roll call:
Pen Z. Skirtz, aka Penzi, is an OC of mine that I've made. She is pretty much a succubus secretary that is known as a freelance financial advisor. She takes her job seriously, loves it more than sex. Info of her would be found on her profile in my DeviantArt page.
Many of the OCs introduced in this chapter were originally created by Moheart7, who offered to let us use them. Though he probably weren't expecting us to use so many of them, we hoped this makes up for us not using the other OCs he submitted as part of the OC contest. Please check out his artwork on DeviantArt or his fan fic Owlette and the Cat, which these OCs are from. His OCs in order are: Buzz, Pringles, Jack McDowl, Jessie Baskerville, Gremory, Valefor, Linda, Jewel, Lord Ipos(mentioned), Gaap, Margaret, and Bella the Bellhop.
Mr. Guide is created for this chapter as a tour guide for Lilith's group, as he's a parody of the crazy bus driver from Rocko's Modern Life episode "I See London, I See France" which I have always wanted to make a reference to this character as well as using his most memorable moments and lines of course he'd be someone you don't want to cross with in Hell.
UPDATE: One thing to add is another OC, Kajedo, who belongs to ultimate-drax who is created as Tex's girlfriend. Check out his fic "Hazbin Titan" on AO3 by "RickLodbrok804".
Rosie and Stu aren't OCs, they're minor characters from Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss. Stu is a background shark mafia working for Crimson, while Rosie is an Overlord of Hell who had voiceless cameos in the Hazbin Hotel pilot but is intended to have a larger role in the actual series. While she's not an OC, we gave her some powers unique to this version. Also Chef Louis from The Little Mermaid is part of the Ars Goetia staff.
Speaking of, yeah we got a lot of Disney villain cameos, like Lady Tremaine with her cat Lucifer in Hell, then there's Shere Khan who's sinner look is based off of his character from Talespin, as he has a beast and true form based off of Incineroar of Pokemon, given how he died.
While developing this chapter we just had too many ideas, so we decided to save some of those ideas for future chapters to prevent this trip through Hell from becoming too long, especially since we didn't want to rush those ideas in this chapter. Some of these ideas included Michael and Vaggie, whose absences are noticeable but there is an explanation for them that will be revealed eventually. The heroes being attacked by their old enemies was something we considered but decided against including for now, hence their cameos at the end
We also originally were going to throw in Craig to fight Lilith, but we didn't go through. So we've settled with the previous enemies of the heroes just play poker and missed out on their enemies being in Hell.
The reveal that Alastor was inspired by the Horned King also hints at the connection between this story's Horned King, and the Black Cauldron's Horned King… the latter was influenced by the former.
And one more thing that I know all of you are curious, but John Smith in Hell is not Disney's John Smith. This is to show that at the very least, out of all the Disney canon stuff we're using, Pocahontas will be one that will never be used, and his appearance will cement this.
Now to answer reviews:
BlueKnight-X2: It will be explained soon.
Matteso585: 1) You think? 2) I mean, gods can change their appearances whatever suits them. 3) They wouldn't care, they just care for Donna's safety than their own pride. 4) Not today.
Crosshot: You have no idea how correct you are… and the Underworld Arc is another game changer arc for our heroes.
Thirteen-Seven: We keep telling you that we haven't thought about it yet.
61394: Cups and Mugs are Mel's gift to her dad.
Franco Almiron: Not anything to reveal much…
OMAC001: We'll manage.
Ultimate-drax: Yes, Millie does create the best meme. And the reference was from Ferris Bueller's Day Off, which is what Deadpool got from.
Shuffollower: Yeah, Laurence Fishburne would be a hypothetical voice for Morpheus. As for the fan casts for Mel's gang:
Melinoe - Dove Cameron
Trini - Sofia Carson
D-Josh - Booboo Stewart
Blazer - Michael Camino(in place of the late-Cameron Boyce, known to play as Kevin in Hansel and Gretel)
Jackson Hearts - Tony Daniels(who played Gambit in the 90's X-Men cartoon)
Serpentina - Vella Lovell(Mermista from She-Ra 2018)
Eustace Curry - Jordan Fisher(Sea Hawk from She-Ra 2018)
RJWritingInk: I mean, it's not like Tremaine deserves it. I don't endorse it, but that's pretty much what abusers receives, a karmic punishment. And honestly, Gods of War would just look like a power fantasy to most gods. And thanks for giving the shout out to DevilArtemis, real fan of his work.
Tune in next time, where we catch up with some familiar faces and see what they're up to during all of this..."
