Chapter 109: It's A Nice Day For A Witch Wedding
Back at the Owl House, Camila's cry could be heard.
"You did WHAT?!" Camila asked in shock while King looked shocked as well and Eda just pinched the bridge of her nose.
"Now, now calm down, mom, it's not what you think!" Luz claimed, trying to calm her mom down.
"Then explain it to me then," Camila whispered while looking out the window and then back at her daughter. "What do you mean you plan on marrying Amity?"
"Yeah Luz, please explain to Camila what you meant," Eda responded.
"Does this mean I'm the best man? Do I get to walk Luz down the aisle?" King asked while Maurice just chirped.
Luz sighed. "Okay, you're not the first to react like this. But let me tell you what I told everyone else…"
"WHAT?!"
Abigail's outburst caught everyone's attention. "Mom, what's wrong?" Clara asks.
"You want to get married?!" Abigail asked Luz out loud, which the others overheard.
"Married?!" Eda, Willow, Skara, Boscha, Gus, Emira, Masha, and Clara exclaimed.
"Whoa, Luz, that's really moving things fast," Wendy commented with a smirk.
"W-Wait, let me explain-" Luz tried to reiterate, but Eda spoke up.
"Now hold up there Luz, I know that I've joked about you two getting married, but not this soon!" Eda exclaimed. "You two are too young!"
"No, it's-"
"Oh my god, a teen wedding?! Is… is that normal for witch culture?" Nora asked the teenage witches.
"Not really, but most get married straight out of graduation," Boscha pointed out.
"Oh, like how people used to do in the sixties," Masha realized.
"Guys-"
"Has Luz pulled something like this before?" Clara asked Willow and Gus.
"Well, nothing like this in the misadventures we've had with her," Willow said.
"Though each adventure comes with a lot of mild trauma… and trips to the healing coven," Gus added.
"Now guys-"
"I knew it! I knew this would happen!" Cat shouted while Amelia paid a snail.
"You two bet on if Luz or Amity would start proposing?" Boscha asked while trying to process the situation. Bo and Skara both silent out of shock, while Jerbo and Viney were both giving snails to Barcus.
"To be honest, it was bound to happen sooner or later," Amelia admitted.
"Is this even legal here?" Nora asked in concern.
"Well, in Gravity Falls, a man did recently marry a woodpecker," Soos pointed out.
"Yeah, this town's old laws are weird…" Dipper commented while also questioning Luz's intention.
"Ugh, this is why I hate this town, Agent Trigger," Powers muttered.
"Now we don't condone teenage marriage here," Blubs reassured them. "I think Luz just has the bad case of young love."
"Yeah! She's always pulling her rascally ways," Durland added.
"Now guys, would you just-I think I speak for everyone that you're really going too fast, Luz," Maya spoke while her left eye was red. "Like, it's enough you and Amity sleep together and have a kid to raise…"
"A kid?!" Abigail exclaimed, glaring at Eda.
"It's a gill child that's Amity's godsister!" Eda clarified while everyone kept talking.
"ENOUGH!" Luz shouted, which got everyone's attention. "Look, let me just clarify what I suggested. Now when I suggested to Amity that we should get married, I didn't mean literally!"
"Then why didn't you say so?!" Rudo asked.
"I would've if everyone had just calmed down and listened!" Luz yelled as she took a deep breath. "Look, me and Amity have been through a lot this summer. We fought in a school war, were separated when she was stranded in the Human Realm, and we've literally gone through Hell and the Underworld and back. It hasn't been easy for us. And I know that the future won't be any different." She sighed while turning to Amity who looked at Luz with the same expression. "But if our struggles have shown me anything, it's that Amity is important to me," she said while holding Amity's hand. "I do love Amity, and she knows we're stronger together. So while I don't know what the rest of the week may bring… I feel like a mock wedding could give us some hope for a future where we can have a real wedding and that being 'wed' could help us while we're apart. What this will be is more of a promise than anything else… A promise that we will be together no matter what happens to us or how long we have to be kept apart."
Amity looked much redder than she usually was, flattered and flustered. It was then she finally responded. "Wow, Luz… that's… that's wonderful… but you really need to work on your proposals," she joked.
"Oh… well, I guess… I did suggest it out of a- well-" Luz was stammering, earning a few chuckles from her friends.
"Wow, is that any way to propose to our sister, Luz?" Emira commented.
"You really need to do better next time," Edric said.
"Yeah, even Barcus has better ideas for proposing to his girlfriend," Viney pointed to the beast-witch dog, who just nodded with a snicker.
"It does remind me of how Jake tried to propose to me," Rose commented. "He ended up setting that restaurant on fire."
"Wow, sounds like he's more like Johnathan," Eda replied as the two snickered, but then realized what she meant. "Wait a sec… how did you respond?" She saw Rose raise her hand up, showing a ring. "Dear Titan…"
"He made it himself." Rose replied, showing the red and gold ring and smiling at it. "I'm the luckiest girl in this realm."
"Well congrats!" Eda shouted, patting Rose on the back, "Dear Titan, you gotta tell me when's the bachelorette party."
"We're still engaged at the moment," Rose clarified. "We don't exactly have a date for the wedding yet, but Hailey and Susan's working on planning the special day."
"Well hit me up when you decided," Eda said while turning to Luz and Amity. "But you know, a mock wedding does sound like something good for the girls."
"Yeah," Willow agreed. "After what they've been through, I think having a little ceremony for you two would be nice."
"Yeah, and it could be good practice!" Gus added.
"I am interested in what an authentic witch's wedding is like," Masha admitted.
"I've never even been to a wedding before," Vee said. "I barely even know what a wedding is."
"Well, I am fine with it just as long as I get to help with the music," Gus G. replied.
Abigail was silent, begrudgingly thinking it over. After letting out a heavy sigh, she turned to Luz. "Well… I guess we can have a mock wedding for you girls. But Luz, you should console Camila about this."
"Don't worry, I'll let mom know," Luz reassured her godmother. "Now then…" She turned to Amity, clearing her throat while kneeling down and holding her girlfriend's hand. "Amity Goodfellow, I don't know what my future holds, but it would be so cool to have you in it… would you pretend to marry me?"
Amity smiled happily. "Yes! Yes I will, Luz Noceda Clawthorne!" She went up to hug Luz while everyone else began to cheer for the couple.
"...And that's how it went, basically," Luz finished. "Me and Ams want to have a pretend wedding, sorta as like practice for a real one when we are old enough."
"Oh, oh qué adorable!" Camila's eyes shone while she smiled happily. "Una boda fingida para mi mija y su prometido fingido! I think it's so cute of an idea, especially as a show of your commitment to each other after everything you've been through!"
"So you're giving it an okay?" Luz asked her.
"Of course, mija," Camila responded.
"Did somebody say a wedding?!"
Hooty popped up as he wrapped around Luz, Camila, Eda, and King. "Bahahahaw! I thought I would never see the day when our little Luz had grown up, ready to fly the nest with Amity as newlyweds! Oh where have the years gone?!"
"Hooty, calm down!" Eda told him. "And keep it down! We don't want those scouts to know about this."
After calming down Hooty, the residents started making plans about what to do tomorrow.
"Okay, so I plan to get ready with my friends," Luz said. "I want to do something like a bachelorette party. Like hit some griffin wings, pull some last stunts, and go through my shit list to prank the people that piss me off the most!"
"And while you two do that, me and Cammy here can go to the Falls to get things ready," Eda replied.
"Yes, to help set up your pretend wedding," Camila said.
"I want to help too!" King added.
"So everyone set?" Eda asked and they all nodded. "Great! Now take five," she told them as they split. Eda turned to Camila and pulled her aside. "Hey, Camila, I need to talk with you."
"What is it, Eda?" Camila replied.
"Look, I know I don't normally do this, but…" Eda sighed. "I need your help with Abigail tomorrow…"
"You want help… with Abby?" Camila asked her.
"Look, I know me and Abigail don't see eye to eye," Eda responded while looking down. "But I know that we both want to be a part of Luz's life and in order to do that, we need to sort out our issues. And I think you could help me get my foot through the door, you know?"
Camila thought about it before nodding. "Okay, I can help you with Abigail. I think you two would definitely benefit from talking through your issues."
Eda smiled and then hugged Camila, which surprised the Dominican woman. "Thank you, Cam," she said.
"Uh, no problem, Eda," Camila replied while patting Eda on the back.
Next morning at Greasy's Diner, Amity was having breakfast with the Gates.
"Thanks for inviting me to have breakfast with you guys," Amity said while eating her pancakes.
"It's no problem, Amity," Abigail responded. "We are happy to spend more time with you."
"Yeah, especially before we help get you ready for your wedding," Clara added. "So what is the plan for the day?"
"Well, a wedding needs guests so I'm thinking of inviting some friends from Echo Creek… they're gonna need a way to travel here," Amity said. "Candy and Grenda have offered to help pick out a wedding dress for me or make one even! Pacifica even offered to pay for a ballroom but I wanted it to be private and be in the forest. It's a tradition for witches to elope somewhere outdoors."
"What should we expect from a witch's wedding?" Clara asked.
"Well, we usually gather in a sacred circle for guests to gather around the couple and the officiant. The officiant would light incense or sage, call to the Titan and create a spiritual circle to surround the physical circle. Once we're wedded, me and Luz will officially tie a knot to symbolize our unity of love for each other."
"You two would have to tie a knot… literally?" Clara asked,
"We witches like to take a lot of things literally. Exchanging jewelry is also a way to show proof of our engagement and promise to each other," Amity replied, "Plus there's also offerings for the newlyweds and then a celebratory feast and party afterward."
"Well I can help with that along with the adults involved," Abigail said. "Though who would officiate the marriage?"
"Well traditionally it's usually an oracle for the job. So Eve would be fitting," Amity said before she turned to Abigail. "Though before we do anything else… we need to talk."
Abigail looked confused. "About what?"
"She means… about you and Eda, mom," Clara responded, which got Abigail's eyes to widen. "When I asked Amity about Eda, she explained what happened between you and Eda… and how it involves Aunt Angelica… which made me realize that Eda was the Gatesfield Beast. But I want to hear it in your words… what went down between you and Eda?"
"We know it's a sore subject for you, Mrs. Gates, but we think it's important to know what happened between you two," Amity said.
Abigail looked at her daughter, then she looked at Amity. She sighed and looked back at Clara. "Your Aunt Angelica… was killed once by Eda. Though I am responsible for her death… and revival." She shook her head and looked down at the table. "I am not proud of myself, but back then me and Angelica weren't… the best of friends. I first met Eda through Angel who appeared in Gatesfield thirty years ago. My brother dismissed her as just a bad influence, but I got suspicious and I followed Angelica to the old abandoned house where Eda was living. There I learned that Eda was a witch and I tipped off your grandfather. After Angelica ran off with Eda to the Demon Realm, your grandfather set up a sting operation, waiting for them to return. They did several months later… but it went poorly. Eda transformed into the Gatesfield Beast-"
"Owl Beast," Amity corrected.
"-and she was out of control. Angelica and I got into a fight, but then Eda, while as that beast… killed Angelica and then flew off. I will never forget that moment." She closed her eyes and shuddered. It took her a moment to continue. "It wasn't until I dropped out of the Huntsclan Academy several years later that I learned my parents had managed to revive Angelica as if her death never happened. And Angelica… didn't remember a thing, nor was she the same girl that I used to know."
"Eda said it was an accident," Amity said. "I know that she didn't intend to kill Angelica. And apparently that jacket Luz is wearing was hers…"
"Yeah, I noticed that," Abigail replied while looking down on her coffee. "But whether it was an accident or not, I can't forgive Eda for what happened to Angelica… and what Angelica has become."
"So… basically what I'm hearing, Aunt Angelica's basically a zombie back from the dead?!" Clara asked with a horrified look.
"Honestly, it's not uncommon," Amity said. "Luz does have a doctor from the Human Realm that lives in the Isles. Her name's Dr. Bride, aka the Bride of Frankenstein. She experiments with her own brand of abominations…"
Clara's eyes widened at that, but Abigail wasn't surprised. "I think I can put two and two together…"
Clara gave her mom a sympathetic look. "Thank you for telling me the full story, mom. However… me and Amity do agree that you should make peace with Eda."
Abigail frowned. "I'm sorry, Clara, but I don't think I can do that."
"Mom…" Clara said with a sad look.
"Mrs. Gates, I know and I get why you're on bad terms with Eda, but it's not going to do you any good if you keep holding a grudge," Amity pointed out. "I know from experience that holding a grudge will only make things worse. Not just for yourself, but the people you care about."
Choosing an example, Amity continued. "My mom was the one who suggested Lilith curse Eda. It is why she can turn into the Owl Beast… which I guess means that my mom and Lilith are responsible for Angelica being killed. When I learned about this, it was the last straw for me. I already had issues with my mom, but this made me so angry that I refused to forgive her or even talk to her to the point where I ended up disowning my family's name to distance myself from her. But that only resulted in hurting the rest of my family, completely destroying it. And then there's Lilith, who's my godmother. I know you have issues with her as well since she was responsible for Camila's death and I won't argue with you about that right now, but Lilith also did some things to put me on bad terms with her and I wasn't able to openly forgive her, which only made her self-loathing worse. It got to the point where she almost gave up on the idea that she could still be a part of me or Luz's life and that almost cost Lilith her own life," she explained, which shocked the two Gates women. "While I haven't forgotten what they did… I do think that forgiving them will be able to help both me and them actually be able to move forward, because it will give us some well-needed closure. And that's what I think you and Eda need: to be able to bury the hatchet, move forward, and get some closure. You don't have to forget the past, but you shouldn't let it define you either."
After taking a sip from her drink, Amity continued. "Your anger and hatred towards Eda is understandable, but it could affect Luz or even Clara. I have talked to Luz and she told me about wanting to spend more time with you and Camila, but it feels like she'd have to choose between her human family and witch family, a choice she doesn't want to make and it is a choice that I don't think you want to make as well. At the very least, you should think about talking to Eda, Mrs. Gates."
Abigail listened to Eda. She was silent for a bit, thinking about what Amity had said. She then shut her eyes and took a deep breath. "I… I think I'll consider it."
Amity smiled. "Thank you, Mrs. Gates."
"You can call me Abby or Gail," Abigail preferred. Once they were finished with breakfast and paid their tab, the three got up from their seats. "Come on, let's get you ready."
While Abigail left with the girls, unknown to them they were being watched by a bald man who sat at the counter. Lazy Susan confronted the man. "Have you decided your order yet?" she asked.
"Just coffee, to go…"
Back in the Boiling Isles, Luz met up with her friends in Geist's bar.
"Alright, my fellow Junior Bad Girl Coven," Luz said to Willow, Gus, Edric, Emira, Amelia, Cat, Skara, Boscha, Bo, Matt, Viney, Jerbo, and Barcus. Geist was present as well. "As you know, me and Amity are having our mock wedding back in the Human Realm and you are all invited."
"This is so exciting," Cat commented with a smile. "I have looked through so many hairstyles for you to choose from, perfect for your wedding!"
"Where's King?" Jerbo asked.
"Oh, he's helping to get things ready for the wedding," Gus said. "Eve and her friends are also going to meet up with us later, since she'll be the officiant."
"I shouldn't be surprised that you and Amity would do something like this, Luz, but I still am," Matt commented while thinking about him being invited to the Human Realm. "Though, this is my first trip to the Human Realm and I am definitely excited for it, especially since I missed the last two!"
"Oh you'll like it there, Matt," Bo responded. "It's beautiful and lovely there, and the humans are nice!"
"Plus, there's a second Gus there," Amelia added. "He's pretty cool."
"Are you looking for a wedding singer?" Geist asked while wiping a glass. "Cause I can offer some entertainment for the reception."
"Sure, Geist," Luz allowed as she turned back to her friends. "And before the wedding, I've decided that I want to spend the day celebrating a mock bachelorette party with you guys."
"Ooh, are there going to be outings for wings?" Edric asked.
"Do I need to hire a burlesque dancer for you?" Emira joked.
"I have something else in mind," Luz said as she pulled out a folded piece of paper from her hair. "This… I'm gonna cash in my shit list. Pull a bunch of pranks on everyone unlucky enough to piss me off. This is gonna leave lasting scars, like the Coven Day bunny incident."
"Dear Titan, there were a lot of rabbits…" Willow commented with a haunted look.
Back in the Falls, the trio of Amity, Clara, and Abigail made it to the spot where the wedding would be held.
"Amity, glad you're here!" Masha waved while with Vee as they along with Rudo and Dana helped set up the large circle. Gus G. was seen setting up a stage with Candy and Dipper while Pacifica was shown working on the flower arrangements with Grenda. When Masha called out Amity's name, the others noticed her and Clara.
"Amity? Oh my gosh, it's so good to see you again!" Pacifica shouted as she immediately rushed over to hug Amity, who hugged her back.
"Pacifica, it's so good to see you again too!" Amity replied while looking at the blonde. "How are you holding up? I heard about what happened…"
"I've been doing good," Pacifica replied. "Me and my mom are still working some things out, and I'm still in contact with Mabel. Candy and Grenda have been a great help."
"That's great," Amity said with a smile. "I'm glad that you're doing alright, Pacifica, and that you're free from that monster."
"Yeah, and you are one of the people I have to thank for that," Pacifica responded. "Which is why me and the girls will help you pick out a dress for your wedding!"
"Yeah! We can't wait for you to try them on!" Grenda cheered.
"Even Mabel has sent some recommendations," Candy said while holding her phone up.
"Mabel… I wish she could come to see this," Amity replied. "She'd definitely love to be here."
"Yeah, she was ecstatic when she heard the news and she was even more devastated about being grounded," Dipper told her while coming over. "But don't worry, I've asked Soos to help record the wedding so I can send a video to her."
This made Amity feel better. "Well, before we do any dress choosing, I am still waiting for a few people…"
As if on cue, the portal door unfolded itself and opened as Eda, Camila, King, Maurice, and Kay came out with a few others…
"Hey, sorry we ran late, but it was a bit hard for me to find these three," Eda said while gesturing to the trio of Janna, Marco, and Jackie.
"What's up, bride-to-be!" Janna shouted, waving to Amity.
"Janna! Jackie! Marco!" Amity squeed as she ran over and hugged Janna and Jackie. "So good to see you guys!" She then noticed Kay with Camila. "And Kay!" Amity rushed to Kay, hugging her godsister. "It's so good to see you all!"
"And it is good to be here, Amity," Jackie commented with a smile.
"Yeah, even though that witch woman broke into my house…" Marco muttered.
"Hi, you three must be Amity's friends from Echo Creek," Dipper said, walking up. He turned to Janna. "And Janna, nice to finally meet you in person."
"You too, Dipper," Janna responded, fistbumping Dipper. "I also got a glimpse of the Demon Realm… even if it was just the inside of a witch's house."
"Now I'm jealous," Masha commented.
Camila went to hug Amity. "It's so good to see you again, mija."
"It's good to see you too, Camila," Amity replied happily. "You… don't mind that me and Luz want to do this?"
"Of course not," Camila said with a smile. "I was… surprised, but I quickly came around to the idea."
"Camila, glad that you are here," Abigail commented as Camila walked over to her. "A lot has happened here over the past week."
"Yeah, Luz already filled me in," Camila replied as King came over.
"Uh hey, I'm King Clawthorne," King waved to Abigail. "I'm pretty much Luz's older brother. I… don't think we got to properly meet last time."
"Oh, Luz's brother? Well, it is nice to formally meet you," Abigail said with a smile, kneeling down to shake his hand.
"Oh my gosh, he's so adorable!" Clara said in awe, her eyes shining at the sight of King. "Nice to meet you, King, I'm Clara."
A few minutes later, Amity began to make a few introductions. "Alright, guys these are my friends from Echo Creek: Janna Ordonia, Jackie Lynn Thomas, and Marco Diaz," Amity explained. "Janna, Jackie and Marco, these are Dipper Pines, Pacifica Northwest, Candy Chui, Grenda Grendinator, Clara Gates, Masha Moore, Vee, Gus the Second, Dana Underwood, Rudo Stewart, and Abigail, Clara's mom."
"Nice to meet you all," Jackie greeted.
"Are you the mermaid friend that Amity and Luz mentioned?" Masha asked. When Jackie nodded, Masha smiled. "Sweet."
"So besides being in another town in another state… I never thought I would end up participating in a teenage witch wedding," Marco commented. "Is this legal?"
"Oh man, if it is, I should've brought Pastor McCay to officiate," Janna suggested.
"It's a mock wedding, something that we decided on a whim," Amity clarified. "But even though it is a mock wedding, I wanted you guys to be here for it. So… how have you been doing since I last saw you?"
"We've been pretty chill like usual," Jackie replied. "I have been skating, eating burritos, dating Marco…"
"You and Marco are dating now?!" Amity said in surprise. "Congrats! Who asked first?"
"Diaz got the courage to ask Jackie out, and she said yes," Janna said, pointing to Marco, who looked a little shy from the mention.
"In light of all the crazy stuff that happened recently, from meeting witches from another world to fighting a government agent to finding out my crush is a mermaid… well, I just decided to take a chance and ask her out," Marco said while Jackie held his hand.
"And I'm glad you did," Jackie replied as the two smiled at each other.
Amity then realized something. "Wait, with everyone here, how are you going to avoid suspicion from the scouts?" she asks Eda.
"Don't worry, our resident fox yokai volunteered to help out to keep the scouts off our backs," Eda said.
"Bwaaahawha, I can't believe that I won't be attending the wedding," Hooty teared up while Kitsuni placed some leaves on top of some ornaments heads, including one of Owlbert.
"Keep it down," Kitsuni responded while duplicating herself. "Now then, once I perform this technique, my clones will take the place of the residents here until they've returned. They'll help avoid the suspicion of the scouts."
The clones transformed through a cloud of smoke, now looking like the residents of the Owl House.
Hooty was thrilled, happily wrapping himself around Kitsuni in a hug. "Now I won't be lonely! How can I repay you? Oh, how about I tip you some dating advice?" Kitsuni's only response was to disappear and in her place was now a log that Hooty was hugging. "Wow, she's really good at disappearing acts!"
"So… what's the plans for the bride-to-be?" Janna asked.
"Well, the others are going to help me pick out a dress for the wedding and invite some people for the altar circle," Amity explained. "Maybe this would be a good opportunity to give you guys a tour around Gravity Falls!"
"Yeah, that sounds nice," Jackie agreed.
"Well you kids can go ahead and head into town, we'll be getting things set up here," Eda told her. "Have fun."
"Alright, we'll be back!" Amity said while leading the gang toward town, leaving the adults and King.
Once the kids had left, Camila handed Kay to King and looked at Eda who gave her a nod. Camila then walked up to Abigail.
"So Abby, now that the kids are gone… think we can talk?" Camila asked her.
"Of course, Camila," Abigail responded as the two walked away from Eda, who watched them in silence
"Um, Eda and Luz have told me about this… Blind Eye Society that Dipper, Mabel, and their friends encountered," Camila said, which piqued Abigail's interest. "Apparently some secret society that was erasing everyone's memories."
"Yeah, I know about them," Abigail responded. "Luz, Amity, and two of their friends think they spotted one of their members during their double date. If one of the Blind Eye's surviving members is still around, this could potentially be a problem. I asked Dipper and he said that their headquarters was at the Gravity Falls history museum."
"Well then… maybe you and Eda could go investigate this," Camila suggested, which caused Abigail's eye to twitch. "Eda was already thinking about checking the place out and looking for any evidence of recent activity, so she may need someone to watch her back."
"...Camila, you are my friend, best friend at that, but I don't think it's a good idea for me to work with her," she responded. "I am not exactly the person to be watching her back."
"Yeah, I know that you have history, but you need to work out your issues with each other," Camila told her. "That is what Luz wants at least. I am not expecting you to forgive her, but I do think that you need some one-on-one time with Eda and this is a good chance at that."
Abigail shifted her eyes to the ground and she sighed. "Earlier this morning, Amity suggested that Eda and I should… bury the hatchet," she mentioned.
"Then this could be a good start," Camila encouraged. "I mean, it has to be better than giving her death glares from a distance, right?"
Abigail thought about it and nodded. "Alright," she said before she walked over to Eda and cleared her throat. "Eda."
"Oh, uh hey Abby!" Eda replied nervously. "Um… I wasn't sure if you… okay, so I thought I would investigate-"
"Camila gave me the details," Abigail responded. "Come on, let's go."
Eda nodded and the two set out to the museum.
Meanwhile, in her hotel room, Rose was in the bathroom looking at herself in the mirror. She pulled out her phone.
"I should call Jake," Rose said as she tapped on her phone, but stopped when she heard something in the room. Pausing, she stepped out of the bathroom and saw that the door to the balcony was open. "What the…?" She didn't remember having the sliding door open.
Then by instinct, she dodged a knife being thrown at her. She saw it hit the wall behind her, then turned around as she got kicked in the stomach by a muscular man in a ski mask. She hit the wall, but got back up as she dodged the intruder's punch.
"Crap," she hissed as she did a flip kick, which the intruder blocked. She ducked down to try to sweep his legs, but he jumped up to dodge such an attack. Rose flipped over the floor as she stood back up, throwing a punch at him which he blocked. She kept up with her punches and kicks, but the intruder continued to block her attacks.
Recognizing that she needed to change her tactics, Rose dodged an attempt to grab her before she picked a chair and swung it at the intruder. The chair broke as the intruder snarled, doing a judo kick to her stomach. Rose hit the counter, but flipped over and pulled open a drawer, grabbing a knife which she used to defend herself with.
She held the knife at the intruder, who just stood there glaring at her through the eye sockets of his ski mask. "Who are you? Who sent you here?" Rose demanded, but he gave no answer.
After a standoff, the intruder charged at her. She swung the knife at him, but he grabbed her arm and squeezed it, making her drop the knife. She flinched in pain, but managed to kick him in the leg, pull out of his grip, and flip over his head, getting on his back as she punched his face before grabbing his ski mask. "Let's see who you are behind the mask!" she shouted as the man backed away to slam her against the wall, but she flipped over his back while managing to pull his mask off before he hit the wall. After landing on the floor, she looked at the mask, and then at the man, but when she looked at him… she froze. "No…"
The man looked at Rose and his fist was a blur as it hit her in the face, knocking her out.
At Hexside, Faust was in his office, looking over the files of all his students.
"Evil little troublemakers, all of them," he grumbled while sipping his coffee. He turned to a pile of letters. "And then there is the PCA and all of their complaints," he muttered while drawing a spell circle and causing the letters to catch fire. After watching them burn, he noticed a new scroll letter on another part of his desk. "What in blazes is this?" he asked as he unrolled the scroll, seeing a letter to him.
'Bad students come from bad principals.'
He blinked. "What does that have to do with me?" Faust asked, not noticing a latch in the ceiling open up. "Though at least it is tamer than the usual death threats…" He then saw a ball land in his coffee, causing his eyes to widen. He pulled the ball out and saw that it was glowing. "What kind of evil is this?" he asked, getting a closer look…
"BOO!"
The ball exploded into a bright flash of light, making him cover his eyes. When he reopened them, he found his office being filled with ghosts that flew around him. He realized that the ball was a ghost ball!
"Heya, how ya doing? Just came back flying from the spirit realm, ordered an ectoplatte," one spoke in a stand-up comedic manner.
"No… travel humor…" Faust groaned while backing away as the ghosts swarmed over him. "One of the most depraved evils…"
"Wraiths, am I right?" another ghost asked through their own jokes.
"I couldn't flush it down through the vortex!" another ghost replied.
"Hey, who wants to hear my take on our convoluted political system?" another ghost asked.
"Stay back, you evil creatures! All of you!" Faust shouted as he ran for the exit, trying to get away from the ghosts as they chased after him while telling their bad jokes.
On the streets of Bonesborough, coven scout Kikimora slapped a ticket to a rat worm.
"Aw come on, I had a minute left on the meter!" shouted the rat worm owner.
"You shouldn't have parked here if you don't want a ticket," Kikimora retorted as she walked, leaving the civilian saddened, but she didn't care in the slightest.
While Kiki was walking, a piece of paper was slapped on her face. "Bah! What the-?!" She looked at the paper, noticing the writing on it.
'If the covens cover the witches, who covers the covens?'
"What kind of question is that?" Kikimora asked.
"Oi, you there!"
Kiki turned to see a coven scout with a cockney-Irish sounding accent who was actually Luz in disguise, but Kiki didn't know that. "Um, yes?"
"Doncha knows that it's illegal to be standin' close to a light post while reading a letter now?" the disguised Luz asked while pointing out the light post that Kikimora was close by. "A fellow scout like you should know that!"
"What?! I… I didn't know!" Kikimora replied, deciding to step away from the light post. "Is this better?"
"No, you're still too close. Go farther than that!" Luz said as Kikimora stepped back. "Farther!" she shouted as Kiki stepped back farther. "Farther!"
"How far?" Kiki asked.
"Just a few more pinches!"
Kikimora took a few more steps until she stepped on a glyph. "Is this good?" she asked before a glowing blue light launched her up in the air on an ice pillar. "WAAAAAAHHHH!" Kikimora screamed as she was launched in the air while Luz watched.
"A little wind helped with the trajectory for her to land right about… there," Luz calculated as she watched Kiki land…
SPLAT!
Kikimora fell into a cart, but not just any cart… a manure cart. Kikimora popped her head out from it as she unleashed a screech. "AAAIIIEEEE! Someone get me off of this cart!"
Luz smiled, turning around as she crossed Kiki's name off of her shit list.
Elsewhere in Bonesborough, Felicity was finishing with a news report.
"And if you wish to come try out the new Belos Burger for a limited time only, drop by the Newt Burger nearest to you," she said while looking bored. "Okay, cut!" she ordered her camera ghost while setting her mic away and pulling up her small mirror. "If I have to do another sponsored advertisement one more time… oh crack, is this a split end?!" she asked, noticing her hair uneven. "Ugh, I'm gonna need to have my hair done quickly, if only there was a hair shop around…"
She looked around and noticed a building that had a sign up: 'Bobcat's Bobcuts!'
"Huh, must be one of those 'appear when you need them to' shops," Felicity said before suddenly someone popped up next to her.
"Hola, Senorita Fox!" spoke a disguised Luz who was wearing a mustache and was dressed as Sweeney Todd with a cat-ear headband. "Are you interested in a haircut?"
"Well, I do need my hair fixed…" Felicity replied as the disguised Luz pulled her in.
"Then come into Bobcat's Bobcuts Bobershop and Bobsalon! Where we give out the best hair treatments in Bonesborough!" she declared while pulling the fox newswoman inside the 'shop'. "Over here is our wonderful hair stylists, Ms. Bobcat herself! She will give you a good trim!"
Turning around was a disguised Cat who wore a hand-hair wig and an apron. "Welcome, you must be le anchorfox from the Media Coven, no? It is honor of you to be new customer!"
"Well at least someone recognizes what an honor it is to meet me," Felicity said while she was led to a barber chair.
"Now as Ms. Bobcat prepares you, I'm gonna play some music… part of the experience," Luz said as she turned up the volume with some music playing.
"Does it have to be that loud?" Felicity asked, only to be pulled back as her head was placed in a sink.
"Don't talk, let it flow," 'Bobcat' replied while putting a warm towel over Felicity's face to cover her eyes. "Here, a complimentary towel for the lady."
"And now… for the works," Luz said while holding up hair clippers. As she turned it on, the music was so loud that Felicity couldn't hear the clippers. Luz and Cat sported evil grins while also appearing was Amelia, who uses vines to keep Felicity from escaping her chair.
"Hmm? Hmhm!" Felicity muffled while trying to escape, feeling that something was not right about this place.
"Relax, this is part of the procedure," Cat told Felicity while Luz held up Felicity's tail…
Later, Felicity's screams were mixed with the loud rock music. The ghost camera crew were still waiting for Felicity near their news wagon.
"Did you guys hear something?" one asked.
"I ain't hear nothin'," the camera ghost responded. "Say, you guys caught last night's reality TV Ghoul in the Shell?"
"Yeah man, I can't believe they eliminated Sparky already," another replied.
"YAAAAAAAHHH!"
Felicity's screams caught the ghosts by surprise when they saw her run out from the shop. They looked and saw the top of their boss's head completely shaved off, along with her tail… which now looked like a rat's tail.
"I was crying for help for twenty minutes when those psychos shaved my tail off!" Felicity cried out as she pulled up her scroll. "I'm so giving them a low score on their shop!"
"Uh, what shop?" the camera ghost asked.
"The one over-" Felicity turned only to see the shop having gone from an established-looking business… to a run down closed building. "But… it was just there!" She saw a note placed on the door, which she grabbed and read from:
'Those who control the news, shouldn't control their lives.'
"What in Titan's Crack…?" Felicity was confused until she noticed Boscha holding up her scroll and aiming it at the fox. "What the… you! Don't you dare take a picture and post it on Penstagram!"
"Oh, I'm not taking any pictures," Boscha said as the Fox sighed in relief. "But everyone else is."
Felicity noticed some Bonesborough civilians were taking pictures and recording Felicity's new look. "Stop that! I'm the Head of Media! You all stop recording right now!" she shouted while Boscha took a picture of her humiliation.
Boscha turned to give a thumbs up to Luz, Cat and Amelia, the trio snickering as they watched Felicity be humiliated in public.
Meanwhile, Felicia looked through some evidence she got from someone she was meeting with in an alleyway.
"These are very good, Thorax," Felicia spoke to her informant, who wore a trenchcoat and hat. But she knew him from her previous school… Beel. "Luz is going to like these very much."
"Happy to help take down a corporation," Beel, aka Thorax, responded while hearing his scroll buzzing. He pulled it out and looked surprised to see what was on Penstagram. "You may want to look at what's on Penstagram right now."
Felicia was confused, so she held her scroll up to see what Beel was talking about. Her eyes widened in shock. "MOM?!"
"Don't you dare record this!" Felicity shouted while live on video as people started laughing. "Shut up! I am the Head of the Media Coven! I'm a Daytime Anchor Award Winner!"
Felicia watched and couldn't help… but be amused by this. "Okay, that's a little funny…" she said with a chuckle.
Meanwhile, at the headquarters of SCORN, Gibson Oscorne had just walked out of the restroom when he was met by Mr. Blood.
"Sir, we have a situation!" Mr. Blood spoke to him.
"A situation? What's wrong?" Gibson asked while his assistant led him to the nearest window. Outside they spotted witches flying on their own staffs and griffins, holding up picket signs… that contained images of the Grim Goblin.
"There he is!" the protester pointed at him.
"He's responsible for the Grim Goblin!" the other responded.
Gibson's eyes widened in shock as he realized if they knew his son was the Grim Goblin. But they couldn't, there's no way they could know.
Quickly, he went down to the main floor of the building through the elevator. As he waited to go down, he received a message on his scroll. He pulled it out and saw the message:
'Hath no fury of a witch's S.C.O.R.N.'
Once he made it to the first floor, he was met with protesters and journalists that demanded his presence. The floor was flooded with flashing cameras, coven scouts blocking them while tomatoes were being thrown at Gibson.
"People, people please, what's this about the… accusation about the Grim Goblin nonsense?" he asked, hiding his nervousness.
"Mr. Gibson, Nathan B. Colorfeather, here to ask about the Grim Goblin's connections to SCORN." Nathan spoke up with his mic.
"What are you… there's no evidence of SCORN's connections to that crazy psychopath," Gibson denied.
"Sir, you may want to see this," Mr. Blood said as he held up his mirror to show it to Gibson, whose eyes widened when he saw what was leaked.
Those were SCORN-patented blueprints of the suits and weapons of the Grim Goblin. Not to mention pictures of one of the flasks from the pumpkin bombs containing SCORN's logo, with a found warehouse that contained the Grim Goblin's weapons, suit and masks, all labeled SCORN on the crates.
"Um… I-I'm sure this is all a big… misunderstanding…" Gibson tried to say.
"Wait a minute! He was among the witnesses brought up by Cluckington! Could he have known about the cannibalism?!" one protester shouted, which riled up the people.
"Yeah! What the freak, Oscorne?!" another responded while the people were shouting.
"W-Wait! I didn't know about that!" Gibson shouted while Nathan was in front of the camera.
"Despite denying these allegations, Gibson Oscorne has a lot to answer for in regards to his connections to the Grim Goblin," Nathan reported.
Unknown to everyone, one protester snuck away as he headed out of the building. Once he was far enough, he dropped his disguise… revealing Gus Porter, who walked over to where Luz was and the two fist bumped.
"Another one bites the dust," Gus declared.
"Excellent, G-Man!" Luz replied as they headed out. "Now for the next victims…"
At Blight Industries, Arthur and Destiny Blight were showing around some of their investors, which included Tibbles, a pair of twins in suits, and Captain Wolffe.
"Ah, it's nice to have a representative of the Emperor's Coven here," Arthur said while shaking Wolffe's hand.
"My pleasure is mine," Wolffe responded. "Since Blight Industries is working with us, I was sent to check up on your progress. I am very interested in seeing what you have to offer."
"As we are interested as well," spoke the male of the twins. He had pale skin with a crescent blue mark on his face, black bobcut hair, gray eyes, and a blue business suit. Next to him was his sister, who had black bobcut hair, gray eyes, and also wore a blue suit.
"Oh, you two must be Tenar and Ranet," Destiny replied happily. "I hear that you two are often the biggest investors of Blight Industries products."
"You can say that we're…" Tenar, the brother, spoke up.
"-Fans of your son's work." Ranet, the sister, finished.
"Speaking of, where is Alador?" Wolffe asked while looking around. "As Head Witch of Abominations, I expected him to show up for this presentation."
"Oh dear Alador is too busy being CEO, and does not wish to not be disturbed under any circumstances," Destiny waved it off. "So we will speak for him."
"Now then, let us show you all of our products!" Arthur declared as he led the investors through the factory and to a stage. "Here at Blight Industries, we continue to honor its perfect legacy by giving what you all desired! And since that evil woman Odalia is no longer in charge here, we have remodeled our products so that her influence will be a thing of yesterday as we shall proceed with progress!"
"Well whatever my money's worth, show it to us!" Tibbles told them.
"Presenting the Abomi-Flame thrower!" Arthur announced as one employee held up a purple flamethrower. "It can shoot flames at three hundred degrees Fahrenheit, burning your enemies to a crisp!"
The employee pressed the trigger, shooting flames up high. However, he got caught in the flames, causing him to scream. "AAAAHH!" he screamed until Destiny cast a fire extinguisher spell on him.
"Is it supposed to work like that?" Wolffe questioned.
"And now to show off our other products that we have upgraded!" Arthur declared as Destiny removes the sheets, showing many other products with the models presenting them. "We have the abomi-blender which, after working on a few kinks, can blend your fruit to smooth perfection!"
The model switched the abomi-blender on, which did nothing but shake around and explode on her. "GAH!"
"The Abomi-vacuum, which can help suck out any dust bunnies or ghosts it could find!" Arthur presented as a purple vacuum was turned on, only for it to go haywire and cause the model to literally get sucked into the vacuum. "The Abomower, which can help trim your yard…"
"AAAHH!" the model ran away as the abomower chased after her.
"And our new and improved Abomicrowave!" Arthur added, followed by an explosion from behind him causing the screaming model to be sent through the air. But Arthur wasn't phased by this at all. "So, any questions?"
The investors were talking among themselves, deciding on what to make of this. Wolffe walked up to Arthur. "Other than the household products that need to be approved by the safety inspector, do you have something that is of special interest to the Emperor?"
"Uh… yes! Of course, follow us!" Arthur and Destiny shouted as they led Wolffe behind the stage. Arthur called out. "Kenny! Show them the rest of the products!"
Kenny, an orange-hooded young employee, brought out another abomi-product, hoping it wouldn't explode on him…
The two Blights escorted Wolffe to show her their commissioned products. "Since the Emperor's Coven is our biggest, contract buyers now, here's our latest and remodeled batch of Abomatons!" Arthur declared. "Destiny, bring them out!"
Destiny pressed a remote, which caused five Abomatons to march up. Though they looked just the same as how Alador built them, some features of them felt… off. As if some of the parts were missing.
"With our new and improved Abomatons, these machines can track down and hunt any wild witch on sight!" Arthur explained. "Why, they can scan a witch and when they see they don't have a sigil on them, they immediately go into capture mode! Why if we turn them on now, they can detect those with sigils and not pursue them!"
"Observe!" Destiny held up the remote to switch them on, the give Abomatons being activated as they detected Wolffe and scanned her as they saw she had a coven sigil on her.
"Coven Sigil Detected. Conclusion: Not Wild Witch," the leading Abomaton said.
However, unknown to them, on the balcony above Luz, Emira, and Edric were holding up another device they managed to snatch from the workshop, turning it on.
"They just leave these out for us to take," Luz whispered.
"This will be good stress relief, at the very least" Emira commented as they leaned back to enjoy the show.
The eyes of the Abomatons suddenly turned red as they started to shake their bodies around. They were no longer able to see Wolffe's coven sigil.
"No Sigil Detected! Status: Wild Witch!" the Abomatons declared as they started to form weapons from their arms, pursuing Wolffe who backed away.
"What's the meaning of this?!" Wolffe demanded.
"I don't know!" Arthur exclaimed while Destiny tried to control them. "Destiny, shut them down!"
"I'm trying, but… something's not right, they're not stopping!" Destiny replied as one of the Abomatons looked at them.
"No Sigil Detected!" one Abomaton declared while they went to chase the two Blights.
"Stop! I command you!" Arthur declared while dodging an abomi-hand coming at him. The two ran back onto the stage where the other investors were, the Abomatons chasing after them. It was then the speakers from above started playing Luz's haunting voice…
"There's no earthly way of knowing which direction we are going…"
Tenar and Ranet tried to save themselves from the Abomaton trying to capture them. Tibbles ran out of the building as fast as his little piggy legs can. The other investors and employees were in a panic as the Abomatons started smashing and destroying everything.
"There's no knowing where we're going, or which way the river's flowing… is it raining, is it snowing? Is a hurricane a-blowing?"
"Who is singing all of this?!" Arthur asked while dodging an Abomaton's abomi-goo attack.
"I don't know!" Destiny replied while holding onto her dear husband in fear.
"Not a speck of light is showing, so the danger must be growing! Are the fires of Hell a-glowing? Is the grisly reaper mowing?!"
Wolffe pulled out her crow while running out of the building. "I need back-up now! And I think Blight Industries needs to be investigated for safety code violations!"
Throughout the chaos, Luz finishes the lyrics. "Yes! The danger must be growing, for the rowers keep on rowing! And they're certainly not showing any signs they are slowing!"
Arthur and Destiny managed to flee while the Abomatons continued smashing and breaking stuff at random. Once they made it out of the building with twin investors and others, they saw what was spraypainted on the building.
'Eat the Rich!'
At the Gravity Falls Mall, Amity was trying on different kinds of dresses she picked out from… from a gothic store.
"You look great, Amity," Clara said, seeing Amity in a white gothic gown with a black girder and long black arm gloves.
"You think? Masha said this is about close to a witch's wedding dress here," Amity replied while turning to Pacifica. "I'd like to try out my other dresses."
"Ooh, you should try this one!" Janna shouted as she picked out one dress for Amity to try on.
In another part of the store, Gus G. looked at himself in a Black Parade suit. "I know that it's supposed to be formal, but hey this is good for a witch's wedding, right?" he asked.
"Hey, don't worry about it," Dipper reassured him. "I'm sure Luz and Amity don't mind."
"Why aren't you picking out a suit?" Marco asked while looking for one.
"Cause I along with Vee, Candy, Grenda, and Pacifica are already covered," Dipper responded. "It is you guys who need some suits for the wedding."
"Wait, so we can, like, wear whatever we want?" Dana asked in excitement.
"Of course, as long as it's formal," Dipper responded. "Well, by whatever a witch's definition of formal is."
"In that case, I'm wearing the monk robe," Rudo said while picking out a monk robe.
Soon the Gatesfield teens and the Echo Creek trio came out of the dressing rooms in their outfits. Masha came out wearing a black v-neck dress shirt with a black skirt, black pant-legs, and black boots.
Clara came out wearing a simple pink gown with a red ribbon waist belt and white heels.
Janna came out in a green jacket with a blue button vest, a black top hat with a skull, purple gloves, and black pants with web patterns.
Jackie came out wearing a sea-form dress with a white rose on her left strap, blue waist belt, and blue boots.
Marco looked at Jackie with a blush while wearing a black tux suit and pants with a red tie, a white sugar-skull mask and sombrero, and shoulder brushes.
Dana came out in a blue tux while Rudo was now wearing the monk robe.
As for Amity, she came out in her white and blue dress with black webbing patterns all around, with a mid-length skirt and white boots, and a veil that has web patterns. She also sported black eye liner.
"Is this the outfit you're getting, Amity?" Pacifica asked her
"Yeah, I like this one better," Amity replied. "It shares the same colors as Hecate in Great Witch Azura!"
"Perfect!" Pacifica declared. "Now have all your suits ready at the checkout!"
While everyone was in line to get their suits, Amity was back in her normal attire when she turned to Janna. "Hey Janna, can I talk to you for a moment? Need some advice,"
"Advice?" Janna asked her in confusion. "Sure, I'll help." She allowed herself to be pulled out of line by Amity and taken to a different part of the store. "Okay, what do ya need? You got the wedding jitters, nervous?"
"Actually, I don't really need advice," Amity admitted while turning to Janna. "Instead, I want to talk to you about Jackie and Marco. Like, I want to know how you feel about them being together. Especially since I figured out who your crush was…"
Janna's eyes widened. "Oh… that. Man, you really pulled a fast one at me, Goodfellow, and I'm an agent of chaos." She then sighed. "As for your question… I… didn't tell Marco about how I felt about him."
"Oh," Amity replied, looking sad for Janna. "I'm sorry…"
"Don't be, it was my own decision," Janna responded. "I was too late, so I decided that I don't want to make things awkward. So rather than be an angsty, emo baby about it, I've decided to be mature and be happy for my friends… even if I do feel like a third wheel sometimes."
"So… you're really okay with this?" Amity asked her.
"Mostly. I mean, I doubt I would make for a good girlfriend, even though I've made the effort to be nicer to Marco," Janna mentioned while looking at Marco and Jackie together, seeing him sharing his skull mask with Jackie. "Especially since I know that if I drive him away, I'll end up driving away Jackie too and I am already not very good at making and keeping friends."
"But what about me? We're friends," Amity pointed out.
"Yeah, because you're a witch and that makes it easier for me," Janna countered. She sighed. "Honestly, sometimes I wish I could live in the Demon Realm. That place sounds way more my style and I bet I could vibe a lot better with the witches there…"
Amity gave Janna a sympathetic look "Janna, I'm sure there's still a lot in the Human Realm for you. What about your parents?"
"Oh, they don't mind what I do or where I go," Janna said. "They're practically hippies. If I tell them 'Hey, can I go on an adventure in the woods' and they'd say 'alright, be careful.' It's not like they don't care, but they know that I can take care of myself. In a way, they're more open minded."
"But still…" Amity wanted to say more, but then she spotted a familiar face in the gothic store. "Hang on… Robbie?"
"Huh, Amity?" Robbie asked as he turned to see Amity. He was hanging with his friends and he smiled when he saw her. "Hey, I heard you were in town."
"Yeah, and I have been meaning to come say hi!" Amity replied. "How have you been? Are you and Tambry still doing good?"
"Yeah, we're doing great," Robbie responded while Tambry walked over.
"Hey, you're Luz's girl," Tambry recognized. "It's nice to see you back in town."
"And hey, I remember you from Echo Creek," Robbie said, pointing to Janna.
"Yeah, I am here for Luz and Amity's little wedding," Janna replied, causing the couple to do a double-take.
"A WEDDING?!" Robbie and Tambry exclaimed.
"Oh yeah, I meant to mention that," Wendy said while walking up with Lee, Nate, and Thompson. "Luz asked Amity to marry in a faux wedding. It isn't like a legal marriage, but it should be fun."
"Say, maybe you guys can come to the wedding as well!" Amity suggested. "I mean, it'd be nice to have you guys over."
"Yeah, what do you say guys? Wanna come witness a witch wedding?" Wendy asked them.
"Honestly, we got nothing better to do anyway, so sure," Tambry replied.
"Yeah, it'd be nice," Robbie agreed while turning to Amity with a smile. "We'll go to your wedding, squirt."
"Yeah! We're going to a witch wedding!" Lee and Nate cheered along with Thompson, who then paused.
"Wait… witch wedding?" Thompson asked.
At the Gravity Falls museum, which was currently closed for the day, Abigail and Eda had broken in and were now roaming the halls.
"According to Dipper, the entrance to the headquarters should be in a room full of eyes," Eda recounted while Abigail was behind her. Eda knew that she had been quiet for some time. "Okay, I know that you're giving me the Teller treatment, which I get. But I gotta ask you something… have you had any weird dreams lately?"
"I haven't," Abigail denied.
"Well… I've had a… pretty messed up nightmare recently," Eda responded while looking nervous. "One of them being a… memory, and strangest thing, you were in it. Like, a younger version of you from thirty years ago and then you grown up version of you showed up telling me that I shouldn't off myself and that I have to live with myself. I mean… it's pretty strange, right?"
Abigail stopped, getting Eda to stop as well. "Actually… it isn't," Abigail admitted after a moment, turning to Eda with a serious yet confused look. "Because I had the same dream as well… we were in a cabin, right? And you… had a gun in your hand."
Eda's eye widened. "So… it was you…"
"Yeah, it was," Abigail admitted. "I honestly tried to brush it off… but I don't know how I could have ended up in your dream."
"Well, I wasn't wearing a dream medallion, were you?" Eda asked her.
"No," Abigail responded. "In that… dream of yours. What was so significant about that… cabin?"
Eda looked at Abigail in silence for a moment, debating with herself over whether or not she should tell her. She sighed and sat down on a bench. "Angel's death affected me just as much as it affected you. It was after the time that the Longs had taken me in, helping me out and well, I helped them out too. But I don't stick around for too long. I explored the human world while I was… running away from my problems. I eventually found this cabin that became my own hideout. It was fine at first, I got a lot of human junk… then I discovered the cigarettes thanks to the camel on those packets and I took up smoking… and drinking… and other things." She looked very uneasy, but continued. "I was trying to cope with my PTSD, which was not just from Angel's death." She tightened her fists. "Before I left the Demon Realm, I ended up scarring my dad while transformed as the Owl Beast, ruining his life in the process."
She looked down at her hands. "I couldn't forgive myself for what I did. I wanted to have those memories buried away, and that's how I ended up doing drugs. I had to get my hands on every tablet, every bag, every needle, and anything else I could try to use to make myself feel better… but it didn't. I fell out of touch with the Longs, not wanting them to see me like this. The nightmares had also gotten worse… to the point where I just couldn't handle it any longer. I ended up attempting to take my own life when I was at my worst. But… I didn't. The thoughts were still there, but I didn't pull the trigger… maybe I hesitated because I was afraid or maybe the Owl Beast stopped me… but it's just as you said in the dream… I'm still here."
"Does… Luz know about this?" Abigail asked.
"No, she doesn't," Eda responded, looking up at Abigail. "...Luz once mentioned about you being part of the Huntsclan. Or at least you used to be. I remember when I was targeted by them, there was one Huntsgirl who freaked out when she saw me… if I were to guess, that Huntsgirl was-"
"Me," Abigail finished, looking away. "My parents sent me to the Huntsclan… but I flunked out because I couldn't kill a magical creature, and… I couldn't face you at that time."
Eda nodded and was quiet for a moment. "I know why you hate me, and it's not just because I killed Angel and traumatized you… it's also because I took Luz from you, isn't it?"
Abigail hissed in anger. "Yes," she confirmed, turning to Eda. "I didn't even know that Luz was alive until recently. I thought she was dead, just like her mother!" She got herself worked up and had to take a few seconds to catch her breath before she started to rant. "Do you have any idea what you robbed me of when you took Luz away? I could've had the chance to see her grow up, the chance to care for her as my own, the chance to be the one to come to for advice and guidance…" She glared at Eda. "What were you thinking of bringing a human girl to the Demon Realm? According to Luz, she has been beaten, cut up, and stabbed! And apparently that Belos creep also has some messed up interest in her all because of what she's turning into thanks to her living in the Demon Realm! Not to mention she has been forced to fight in a school war, battle literal supervillains, and was taken on a trip through Hell and the Underworld! Luz would have been safer with me… and I would have been better off with Luz."
Eda was once again quiet for a moment, believing that there was some truth to what Abigail was saying. She sighed and stood up with an apologetic look. "I am sorry, Abigail. I am so, so sorry for taking Luz away from you. I swear that I didn't even know she was connected to you when I took her in and if I had realized she had other family to take care of her… maybe I was selfish to keep her despite the danger I would put her in. Or maybe I was just stupid. Luz was the best thing that ever happened to me… but lately I have been wondering if I was really the best thing that could have happened to her." She sighed and shook her head. "But I am sorry for hurting you, Abigail. Really, I am."
Abigail said nothing as she looked at Eda for a few seconds. "Come on, let's go find the entrance," she said as she walked down the hall with Eda following her.
Neither woman spotted someone following them…
Back in the Isles, Luz was paying a visit to Kitsuni's home.
"You want us to be at your mock wedding?" Kitsuni asked in surprise.
"Congratulations!" Mai replied happily.
"Yeah, after everything you've done for us, I would really like you to attend mine and Amity's little mock wedding," Luz responded.
"That is admirable, Luz," Kitsuni admitted. "However, I should remind you that I'm still banned from the Human Realm."
"Oh, right," Luz realized while turning to Mai. "How about you, Mai? You're not also banned, right?"
"Well, I wish I could go, but I have other plans for today," Mai said.
"But thanks for thinking of us," Kitsuni said to Luz. "Uh, Mai, why don't you leave me and Luz to have a discussion in private?"
"Got it!" Mai replied as she flew to her room.
Once the two were alone, Kitsuni turned to Luz. "Okay, so I did some research into the Horned King."
Luz gave a serious look. "What did you find out?"
Kitsuni sighed. "I've learned… very little," she admitted. "I've only found out about other horned gods and a different Horned King who used to threaten another realm called Prydain, but the connection between them and the Horned King that you saw is unclear."
"What's the story behind that Horned King?" Luz asked her.
"He was a lich. He was once an agent of Arawn Death-Lord, an evil king who was thrown alive into molten iron that was used to forge a black cauldron. His spirit remained in the cauldron and the Horned King sought to obtain the cauldron so that he could use its power to raise a Cauldron-born army of the dead to rule his realm as a god-like figure," Kitsuni explained. "And he would have succeeded if not for a heroic creature that selflessly sacrificed his life to negate the Cauldron's necromantic abilities. The Horned King perished as a result of this, being sucked into the Cauldron. Or at least that's how the story goes. The information around that Horned King is scarce and I wonder if it is deliberate…"
"Well, any information could help," Luz replied, surprised by the story. "Who knows if that Horned King may have some… influence on other horned deities…"
"I promise to look into it more," Kitsuni responded.
"Ever try checking an infinity library?" she joked.
"We did, actually, but no other leads," Kitsuni said. "Also, I should mention that an investigation into Heaven and the Exorcists has begun."
This surprised Luz. "Whoa… I didn't know that Heaven and God can be investigated."
"No afterlife is free from investigation," Kitsuni replied. "Not even the Head Beard in the skies."
"Makes you wonder what Lucifer thinks of this," Luz commented.
"Probably celebrating," Kitsuni said. "And Luz… have a nice wedding."
Luz gave her a nod. "Thanks, Kitsuni."
Later at the Smith household, Luz talked to Morty and Summer about her planned wedding.
"No way, we're going to see an actual teen wedding?" Summer asks with an intrigued look.
"It's not official, just a ceremony me and Amity want to have in the H.R.," Luz told them. "And I've been thinking of inviting a few people for it."
"Oh, I know the perfect dress to have on!" Summer said while walking out, heading to her room.
"This wedding sounds great and all, but isn't it going to be much of a risk?" Morty asked.
"Don't worry, Mort, we've calculated and planned out how to get folks in the Human Realm without attracting unnecessary attention and we are being careful with who we invite," Luz explained.
"Well that's great, hope you don't mind inviting all three of us," Morty replied.
"Yeah, I won't- wait, what do you mean three of you?" Luz asked him.
"Um, well… I want to invite Jessica in as well," Morty said, looking nervous. "Um… I sorta… told her… about the portal to the Human Realm."
"What?!" Luz exclaimed in anger, making Morty wince. "Titan's Crack, Morty, I didn't tell you to tell other people!"
"It-It's just Jessica, alright!" Morty reassured her, though he was still afraid of Luz's anger. "L-Look, Jessica is just interested in seeing the Human Realm, s-so I thought maybe this could be a good time to… let her take a glimpse at it? I promise to not tell anyone else!"
Luz glared at Morty and started to rant in Spanish. "No puedo creer que tenga que lidiar con esta mierda!" She then sighed. "Fine, Jessica can come too."
"Thanks, Luz," Morty responded, relieved.
"Don't mention it," Luz said before narrowing her eyes at him. "I'm serious, don't."
Next Luz stopped by the Clawthorne home. She knocked on the door, which was answered by Gwendolyn.
"Luz! Great to see, how are you doing?" Gwendolyn asked her.
"Good, Gwendma," Luz replied as she was invited inside. "I had a lot to do yesterday, but I do have an important announcement to share with you guys."
"An important announcement?" Dell asked as he and Lilith were present.
"Well, when I went to visit Amity yesterday, and after a double date with Willow and Skara, we decided to have a pretend wedding down in the H.R. Not Human Resources, the other H.R. but I think you know what I meant," Luz explained. "So I've been going around, inviting a few friends over. Not too many people, just those that know about the H.R."
"Wait, you and Amity are going to get… married?!" Lilith exclaimed.
"Pretend wedding," Luz clarified.
"Wedding?!" asked another voice.
Luz turned and saw Odalia having come in from the other room. "Dalia? I'm surprised to see you here!"
"Yes, I just… moved in yesterday," Odalia responded.
"Odalia needed a place to stay after her previous home was burned down in a fire last Splatterday," Lilith explained.
"Caught on fire?" Luz asked in confusion. "Strange, that sounds like something similar that happened on Splatterday… but that was taken care of from what I heard."
"So… what's this hear about this wedding you and Amity…?" Odalia asked.
"Oh, it's a little thing we're doing, not official and just something nice in light of everything we have been through this summer, basically a show of our commitment to each other," Luz tried to explain. "A lot of our friends and some relatives will be there, including Geist and the twins. And… I think Amity would appreciate it if you came as well."
"Really?" Odalia asked in shock. "You… want me to be at your… mock wedding?"
"Hey, I still appreciate how you helped me and Lilith locate Time Pools which we used to get closer to finding her," Luz responded. And while Odalia seemed to appreciate this, her face quickly fell.
"I… I don't think it's a good idea," Odalia responded. "If the twins are coming, I know that Emira wouldn't like it if I'm present. I don't want to spark up anymore drama than I already have."
Luz looked at Odalia and thought about the situation before speaking. "Look, I understand that there's some bad blood between you and Emira, but it shouldn't be something to prevent either of you from seeing Amity's happy moment. And since we can't get Alador, I think Amity should have at least one parent present. You don't want to regret it later if you do miss this chance, right?"
"I… I don't," Odalia admitted.
"Then what do you want?" Luz asked her.
"I… want to see my daughter's faux wedding," Odalia responded in determination.
"That's what I'd like to hear," Luz said with a nod. "And don't worry about Emira, I'll talk things out with her. You two don't even have to speak to each other."
At McGucket's junkyard, Amity had decided to stop by. The Gatesfield teens and Echo Creek trio were confused about why they were here, but they waited while Amity confronted the local town coot who was currently working on a device.
"Mr. McGucket!" Amity called out to him.
"Shibledo, what?" McGucket asked as he turned around and lifted his goggles to see Amity. "Why I know you, you're the girl that likes my books! Hehe, how have you been?"
"Doing fine," Amity responded. "I know that you're busy with your work…"
"Oh this? Nah, this is just a machine to get the flies out. Still working on the twigs but I gotabluke," he responded.
"Um, right… McGucket, I came here to ask if you would do me the honor of attending mine and Luz's mock wedding this evening," Amity said..
"A weddin'? Is it the shotgun kind?" he asked.
"Um… no?" Amity answered. "But it'd be great to have you here since, well the Azura book series have helped me a lot while I was growing up, and it was one of things that really brought me and Luz together. It was your book series that helped me go through life and I really would appreciate it if you came."
McGucket was surprised by this, but after getting over his shock he smiled at her. "Yeah… I think I will. Thank you, Amity. I appreciate the invite."
Amity smiled back. "You're welcome, sir."
Meanwhile, Eda and Abigail had made it into the headquarters of the Blind Eye Society and were looking around the meeting area.
"Looks like everything's cleared out," Eda commented, seeing the room completely empty, which even included the chair. "And I don't think the kids were the ones who cleared it out once the Society was dismantled."
Abigail looked up at the tubes that ran along the ceiling. "Those tubes should lead somewhere."
The two followed the path of the tubes, which led them to a room that had a statue of a Blind Eye Society member at the back. However, when the kids had earlier discovered this room, it had been filled with boxes of memory canisters belonging to the residents of Gravity Falls. But now… the room was completely empty. The two women still searched the room and looked around the statue until Eda found a hidden lever, which caused the wall behind the statue to move away, revealing a hidden room. The two women looked inside the hidden room and found that it had shelves with memory canisters.
"Secret room… stored memories…" Eda said while looking around.
"What could they have been wanting to hide in here?" Abigail asked.
Eda checked out the different tubes, reading the labels. She didn't recognize any of them… until one label caught her eye. She quickly grabbed the canister to make sure, her eye widening as she read the label… "Abby…"
"Eda, what-" As Abigail turned around, she saw what Eda was showing her. "Dear lord…"
The canister was marked Angelica Sinclair.
"Those memories… they're Angelica's" Abigail realized while Eda looked down at it, her hands shaking.
"This is why she didn't recognize me, why she didn't know me," Eda said, her tone angry. "These bastards made her forget! No wonder they were able to completely brainwash her…" She looked up at Abigail, who looked just as distraught. "Why would they do this to her?"
"All I know is that they revived her by the request of her mother," Abigail said while crossing her arms. "I suppose after she was brought back, she was brought here and they had her memories erased. Not just of her death, but of you completely…" She leaned back against the wall, looking at the other canisters. "And these other memories… maybe they belong to other people who were brought to the Blind Eye Society from out-of-town to have their memories erased and maybe that is why this place is hidden away from the rest of the headquarters…" She looked down and gulped. "I wish I could have been here to stop this… no, I wish I could have done something even sooner than that. If I had been more supportive of Angelica or if I hadn't told my father, Angelica wouldn't have run away with you or gotten killed." She was quiet for a moment. "This is all my fault, you know."
Eda felt sympathy for her. "Abby-"
"This is my fault," Abigail repeated while not looking at Eda. "I was a brat in my youth who enjoyed making fun of Angelica and treating her horribly while wanting nothing more than the favor of my father. So isn't it fitting that I became the one who was ostracized by the rest of the town and my own family after Angel's death?" She turned to Eda, she didn't glare at her this time… she just looked saddened. "You know, I did care about Angelica back then. Of course, I didn't show it well. I was a terrible 'friend' to her and I was just as rotten as the rest of my family…"
"But you aren't anymore," Eda pointed out. "And you didn't deserve what happened to you, Abby. You were just a kid. You didn't know any better then but you do now. You have to understand that, right?"
"And what about Angelica?" Abigail asked, her voice quiet. "Dear God, she was not the same girl we once knew, Eda. Back then Angelica was smart, she was rebellious, and she was tough, but never cruel. She was like Luz in a way…" she admitted. "But now, she's just… cold and… ruthless and just not the same girl we knew anymore. That girl really is gone and forgotten, Eda. She may have been brought back, but this was the place where she died once again and whatever was left was taken by family and Angelica's and turned into something that may have been wearing her skin, but was a different person altogether. My family did this to her… because I got her killed." She then remembered something. "Though you know, Eda, there has been something that has bugged me for years… were you and Angel really just friends the whole time?"
Eda looked confused. "Yeah, we were-" She stopped when she heard footsteps and she noticed a hooded Blind Eye Society member, the same one from the Crawlspace, in the doorway to the secret room. "What the…?!"
"That's one of them!" Abigail shouted. "Stay where you are!"
"You better tell us everything we want to know pal," Eda told him, only to get no answer. "Hey, did you hear us?"
He didn't respond and after a moment the Blind Eye member just fell forward and landed face-down on the ground. The two women backed away as the body hit the floor and they then noticed that in his back… was a knife. Someone had killed him.
The two were shocked, but it only took a moment for Abigail to realize what this meant. "Someone else is here!"
Eda nodded and placed the memory canister in her hair. "Come on, we can catch them!" she shouted as she ran out of the room. Abigail followed her, though stopped to look at the knife in the back of the dead man…
The two women ran back to the main meeting area, only to come to a complete stop when they saw who was waiting for them.
"Angel…" Eda said, seeing Angel Gates with someone else…
"Rose!" Abigail shouted, seeing the gagged and restrained Rose being held at knifepoint.
"Not one step!" Angel threatened, having Rose as a hostage and holding the knife against her neck. "Don't move unless I say so or the Huntsclan traitor gets her neck slit!"
"What are you doing here, Angelica?" Abigail asked as she and Eda stayed where they were, raising their hands to not give Angel a reason to kill Rose.
"I'm just tying some loose ends, Abigail," Angel responded while looking at her. "The Blind Eye Society has become a liability and I can't have anything here that leads back to me. Though I suppose you are a liability as well now." She scoffed. "I can't believe you have fallen this far, to the point where you would work with that witch. You are bringing even more shame to the Gates family than you already did…"
"Angel, please," Eda said to her. "Let Rose go, she has nothing to do with this."
"Hmmhmm!" Rose tried to warn through her gag, but Angel kept a grip on her arm.
"I disagree," Angel told them, forcing Eda and Abigail to stay where they stood.
"Listen, Angelica, there's something you deserve to know," Abigail said to her. "The Blind Eye Society… our families had your memories erased."
Angel eased her knife away from Rose, but did not remove it completely. "What are you talking about?"
Eda pulled out the canister. "This here has your name on it and it contains your memories. Angel, you had your mind wiped by the Blind Eye Society. If you could remember, we were friends once. You saved me from some boys who were assaulting me, we snuck into a theater to see The Thing together, a-and you gave me the idea of selling human junk in the Demon Realm… we were the best of friends."
Angel kept her face passive as she looked at Abigail. "Was I actually friends with a witch, Abigail?"
Abigail nodded. "She was the only one who supported you back then, Angelica. But my parents, they must have erased your memories of Eda so that you wouldn't have a problem with hunting witches like her."
Angel raised her eyebrow while Rose looked at her. "You know, it… it's coming back to me now…" she said.
"You… you're actually remembering?" Eda asked her.
"Yes… I think I remember…" Angel said while Eda and Abigail began to ease up. "Eda, was it?"
"Yes," Eda confirmed, her tone hopeful. "Angel, we can help you if you just-"
"Hmmhm!" Rose shouted through her gag and Abigail spotted something in the shadows at the corner of her eye.
"Eda, down!" she shouted.
Both women leapt away as a blast of green energy hit the ground between them. Eda and Abigail realized that Angel had been pretending to remember in order to get them to lower their guard and, more importantly, Angel was not alone.
"Not bad, Abigail," a familiar voice said as a figure stepped out of the shadows. "Good to see you haven't forgotten everything you were taught."
The figure was a muscular man who wielded a teched up spear and was wearing a dark red ninja outfit with a black cape and a dragon skull over his black ski mask.
"Jeff?!" Abigail exclaimed.
"No, not Jeff," he corrected while looking at Eda. "We meet again, witch."
"Do… do I know you?" Eda asked while in a defensive position.
"You don't remember me?" the man asked, a hint of anger in his voice. "You humiliated me before the Huntsclan when I was but an apprentice!"
"Wait a sec… you're Squeaky!" Eda recognized, causing the man to growl.
"I am the Huntsman!" the man revealed, causing Eda to pause.
"Huntsman… I've heard of you," Eda realized. "You… you're supposed to be dead!"
"And I have been restored to my former strength! My Huntsclan may be gone, but I live on to continue my mission of slaying all of magickind, even if it takes until the end of time!" the Huntsman basted.
"Wow, did you prepare that speech while in the stalls?" Eda asked while preparing to fight. Her eyes changed as she transformed into her harpy form. She flew straight towards the Huntsman as he shot at her with the Huntstaff. She flew around, avoiding the blasts until she was close enough to kick him back. "Yeah, I remember you now, you were a scrawny punk back then and I see that you are still a loser now!" she declared as the Huntsman managed to blast her with his Hunstaff, sending her into the wall. Eda got back up and saw him about to stab her with his Huntstaff, which she managed to dodge.
"I have changed much since we last fought, witch!" the Huntsman shouted as he managed to grab her wings and swing her into the wall. Eda felt a stomp of his boot to her back while she kicked backwards to get him off of her. He swung his staff to try to stab her, but Eda dodged him swiftly… only to get punched in the face causing her to be knocked down. "Goodbye, witch!" he declared as he was about to finish her off…
STAB!
"Ugh!" Huntsman grunted as he felt his left leg stabbed. It was Abigail, who stabbed him with the knife she managed to get out from the Blind Eye member's back. He turned around and saw Abigail. "You!"
"Yeah, me," Abigail responded while digging the knife into his leg. He swung his hand back at her but she dodged, giving Eda an opportunity to tackle him down while he pulled the knife out. She slashed at his masked face, scratching him up with her clawed hands. "Ow! Stop it!" he cried out.
"Ow, stop it! Yeah, you even still sound like a wimp, loser," Eda mocked while she pinned him down, strangling him. He grabbed hold of her arms to get her off of him but she kept strangling him. Eventually, he kicked her off of him while he got back up.
But then he felt a kick to his bleeding leg, causing him to wince again. He turned to see Abigail having delivered that kick. "How could you… working alongside with the very witch that you claimed ruined your life! You used to tell me how you hated her!" He glared at Abigail. "You aren't just disgraced to the Huntsclan, but a traitor to it as well!"
"You say that like it means anything to me," Abigail retorted. "The Huntsclan promotes nothing but hatred! Flunking out the Huntsclan is something I hold no regrets about!"
This made him angry. "Then you will share the same fate as the witch!" He grabbed his Huntstaff again and swung it down at Abigail, who jumped past him and punched his wound. "Ugh!" he cried out as Eda flew past Abigail, kicking the Huntsclan in the chest, knocking him over.
While this was going on, Rose saw that Angel was busy watching the fight, which gave her the opportunity to loosen her bonds. When she did, Rose grabbed the knife from Angel's hand and twisted her arm. "Ugh!" Angel grunted while Rose spun around and kicked the leader of the Archangels away from her, getting in a defensive position.
"Should have expected that from the Huntsman's former apprentice…" Angel said while glaring at Rose, who held up the knife.
"I don't know about that, since I was his worst student," Rose replied after taking the gag off. She circled around Angel while holding the knife up on guard.
However, Angel moved very quickly, knocking the knife away from the blonde. Rose attempted to punch Angel, but hit her artificial arm instead causing Rose to wince. Angel then swung her mechanical fist at Rose, who narrowly dodged it, the fist leaving a large crack in the pillar behind her instead.
Rose saw Angel's robotic arm pulsing green energy as it constructed an energy whip from her hand. Rose flipped away from the green whip, but Angel swung it as it caught her in the leg and pulled her back. Angel then blasted at Rose with green energy similar to the green energy that came from the Hunststaff, Rose narrowly dodging it and other blasts. Rose attempted to close the distance between her and Angel, only to then get hit by several strikes from Angel's fists. Angel was an efficient hand-to-hand combatant, actually giving Rose some difficulty. Rose was forced to back away, giving Angel enough space to fire more green energy blasts at Rose, prompting her to dodge them.
As Rose backed away, she saw Eda and Abigail fighting against the Huntsman. She saw Abigail having to dodge the Huntsman's attacks, though she couldn't dodge them forever. Eda was having her back, delivering her own kicks and punches towards the stronger man, even using her talons to scratch his face. Abigail just got her hits in when she could, targeting the man's leg and making sure every one of her attacks left an impact.
"Abigail! Let's switch partners!" Rose shouted while dodging a blast from Angel.
Abigail turned to Rose with a nod and ran in her direction, the two tagging each other as Abigail ran around Rose while the blonde ran up to help Eda.
"So from one traitor to another," the Huntsman said as he glared at Rose.
"Oh shut up, I thought I erased you from existence so I wouldn't have to hear this anymore!" Rose pointed out in anger as she delivered a sidekick to her former mentor.
Abigail circled around Angel as they faced off against each other, the latter glaring at the former. "Sister-in-law, I always knew we'd face each other like this…"
"Angelica, give this up now!" Abigail told her.
"Really, Abigail? Do you really have to further embarrass yourself?" Angel asked while dodging a swinging punch from Abby. Angel ducked underneath another punch from Abigail, then dodged a kick. "Do you want to know what your parents said about you to me?" she asked as she blocked another punch from Abigail while giving her a grin. "They would talk about how weak and disappointing you were. You were a failure as a Huntsgirl, as well as a failure as a witch hunter." She swung a punch to Abigail, who dodged it. "They said you couldn't do what had to be done! In fact… they considered me their true daughter!"
Abigail looked at Angel with pity. "I feel so sorry about you," she said while kicking Angel in the side.
This angered Angel. "You? Feel sorry for me?!" she shouted as her robotic arm glows green tron-lines and she swung it up to deck her in the chin. Abigail fell back, tasting blood in her mouth. She quickly rolled away from Angel to avoid getting hit again.
Meanwhile, the Huntsman used his staff to shoot beams at both Rose and Eda. "I have been waiting a long time for this! To avenge the Hunstclan after you betrayed us! And for what? A dragon?!"
"His name's Jake," Rose corrected him while dodging his beams. "Though honestly, a part of me did hope that the rest of the Huntsclan had survived my wish and that they would just be given a chance to live a normal life as if the Hunsclan had never taken them… but it seems you couldn't help but go back to your pathetic lifestyle!" she called him out while dodging another beam.
Eda flew down to swing her wings to knock the Huntsman down. He flipped over and knocked her aside while focusing on Rose. He raised his Huntstaff up as he knocked Rose down to the floor. "I will show you who is pathetic, traitor!" he declared.
"No!" Eda shouted as she flew over to push Rose out of the way while the Huntsman swung his Huntstaff… and beheaded Eda.
"EDA!" Rose cried out, seeing her head roll across the ground.
"Yes, I did it!" the Huntsman declared. "I have succeeded where you failed, Abigail!"
"Ow! Fuck I really hated that!" Eda cursed.
The Huntsman and Rose's eyes widened when they see Eda's head still talking while her headless body still moved around. "What? Never seen a headless witch before? And Huntsy, right? Fuck you for beheading me, d-hole!" Eda's body flipped off the Huntsman.
"Then I won't fail again!" he declared while swinging his staff, only for Rose to kick him away. She then went to grab Eda's head and place it back to her neck.
Once Eda reattached her head, she resumed her fight against the Huntsman.
After a while, the Huntsman was forced back until he found himself standing next to Angel as they faced off against Abigail, Eda, and Rose.
"This is the part where you give up," Eda told them.
Angel only glared at the three as she held up something. "I don't think so," she said while pressing a trigger.
It was then, they heard beeping noises, Rose immediately knowing what they were.
"Crap, I forgot to tell you, they set-"
BOOM!
Several bombs that Angel and the Huntsman had set up earlier went off, causing the entire room to shake. Eda instinctively used her wings to shield Abigail and Rose from the blast. When she looked back at where Angel and the Hunstman had been, she saw that they were both gone.
"Eda, we need to get out!" Abigail shouted, recognizing the ceiling was about to cave in on them because of the explosions.
"Hang on!" Eda shouted as she held onto both Abigail and Rose while using her wings to try to fly out of the base. But then she got hit by some debris, forcing her to change back.
The three fell, Eda was too injured to get back up. However, Abigail and Rose immediately helped her back up by swinging her arms around their shoulders. They quickly headed back up to the museum as the headquarters of the Blind Eye Society slowly collapsed around them, threatening to bury all evidence of the Blind Eye Society and its secrets. But as they ran through the museum, they felt it starting to sink and fall apart as well.
After they made it out in time, they turned back and watched as the Gravity Falls museum literally sank into the ground due to the destruction of the base underneath the building. The three women were shocked as they saw the museum vanish from sight. It and everything in it would be lost…
After a moment of shocked silence, Rose turned to Eda. "Are you alright, Eda?" she asked her.
"Don't worry, this old bird has survived Hoboken," Eda responded. She looked at where the museum had been and sighed. "I hope nobody was in there. Too bad about the museum and the Hunstman and Angel escaping, that is if they made it out…"
Abigail nodded and turned to Rose. "What about you, Rose? Are you okay?"
"Yeah," Rose responded as she and the others caught their breath. "The Huntsman attacked me in my motel room and when I saw his face, I was so shocked that he was able to knock me out. I can't believe he's back and in league with the Archangels…" She looked down and sighed. "I never thought I would ever have to see him again… but not only was he brought back, but he remembers everything as well."
"We can discuss what that means later, since I don't think we should stick around here for too long," Eda said while turning to Abigail. "And hey um, thanks for watching my back out there, Abby, and for helping me get out of there."
Abigail turned to Eda and looked at her for a few long seconds. "You're welcome… Eda."
Only as they were leaving did Eda realize that she had lost the canister with Angel's memories…
A bit later, the trio of Eda, Abigail and Rose made it back to where the wedding was being held and set up. They spotted Camila, Nora, Ford, Powers, and Trigger there, who all noticed the three looking banged up.
"What happened to you three?!" Nora exclaimed.
"Abby, when I suggested you team up with Eda, I didn't expect- wait, actually maybe I did expect it to turn out like this," Camila said while walking towards them.
"We were investigating the headquarters of the Blind Eye Society when we got attacked by Angelica," Abigail explained, shocking everyone.
"Director Gates is here?!" Powers asked.
"Yeah, but she's not alone. She was with a revived Huntsman," Rose explained.
"We have to mobilize our team and make sure there aren't any more trespassers in the town," Power suggests. "Come on Triggers, let's go."
Trigger nodded as he turned to the others. "Tell Luz and Amity we said congrats!" he said before leaving with Powers.
Eda looked around. "Wait, where's Blubs and Durland?"
"They said they got a call about the Gravity Falls museum," Ford replied. "Wait, was that you?"
"Uh…" Eda said.
"Hey, why don't you three get cleaned up before the wedding starts?" Nora suggested.
"Yeah, we should," Rose agreed as she along with Eda and Abigail went to get changed.
Later at the motel, Eda was in Rose's room getting changed while Abigail was in her room getting changed as well. The three came outside with Eda wearing her brown pantsuit and black tie, Rose in a single-strap pink dress with a rose pin, and Abigail wearing a gray church dress.
"Well, don't know if this counts as a Clawthorne adventure for the three of us, but we managed to survive, like in the old song," Eda commented. "Should we tell the kids about this?"
"No, at least not now," Abigail responded. "Last thing we want is to ruin this day for the kids."
"I agree," Rose responded. "Though I'll have to contact Jake about this…"
"Why don't you go ahead and do that right now, we'll catch up," Abigail told Rose, who gave her a nod as she walked away. Once Rose was gone, Abigail turned to Eda and sighed, trying to find her words. "Look, Eda, before the wedding I just want to say that regardless of how I feel about you… you are still Luz's mother. That is something that I cannot change and I have to accept, and…" She struggled to find the best way to put it. "Luz is happy with you, that I cannot deny."
"I mean, Luz would have been happy with you as well," Eda pointed out. "And you are right, she would have been safer."
"Honestly… I don't even know if Luz would have been as happy with me as she is with you," Abigail admitted while looking down. "Especially if Luz had to grow up in a place like Gatesfield. Safer, definitely. Happier… Eda, you were familiar with what that town was like thirty years ago and it has only gotten worse since then. In fact, my daughter was only able to come out to me after we had both left Gatesfield… and I don't think that was an accident."
"I'm still not the most responsible mother, as you can tell," Eda pointed out.
"True… but I'm not the most perfect mother either," Abigail admitted, looking down in shame. "But we're both trying our best and it is clear that neither of us want to give up. I want to continue to be a part of Luz's life… which means I do have to accept your role in it and I think we both should at least try to work through our issues with each other…"
"Yeah, maybe we can talk more," Eda agreed.
"Yeah, and also… you apologized to me and I also want to say that I'm sorry for trying to get you killed thirty years ago," Abigail apologized. "I am not proud of who I was then and despite my feelings towards you… I don't want you dead."
Eda nodded. "Thank you, Abigail." Both women were quiet for a moment, not sure what to say next. "So… why didn't you leave Gatesfield sooner?"
Abigail looked down. "It's… complicated. First, I doubt I would have been able to escape my family's influence. And second, despite what the town is like and my family was like… I still loved them. They may have gaslighted me and got everyone else to think I was crazy… but I loved them nonetheless." She gave a saddened look while folding her arms, hesitating slightly before she continued. "I loved my brother even if he helped alienate me from the rest of the family and the town…" She paused. "I was still devastated when he died." She noticed Eda looking at her, but she managed to still continue. "And I loved my parents, despite everything they did to me, which included forcing me to watch Angel become the daughter my parents always wanted her to be, forcing me to watch her being groomed by my own family."
"Titan, your folks sound like a complete pair of a-holes," Eda said.
"Yeah, they are," Abigail agreed while looking distraught. "My parents were terrible people and so was my brother, but I still cared about them. Crazy, right? Like whenever I tried to tell Angel the truth, they would just humiliate and punish me for each attempt. My parents were the worst… but now they're dead because of me…"
"Wait, what?" Eda asked in confusion.
Abigail realized her mistake and quickly moved on. "But despite all the grief they gave to me, I still felt some loyalty and love for my family. Their deaths wrecked me and I think that one of the reasons that I stayed in Gatesfield, where they died, was as a way to punish myself, because I felt like I deserved it." She shook her head. "But I was so caught up with my own misery, that I ended up neglecting my own daughter." She hesitated again while looking up at Eda with a pained expression. "I… I even once tried to kill myself…"
Eda was definitely shocked by this. "Oh my… I'm so sorry, Abby…"
"It's… fine, Eda." Abigail admitted quietly. "And like you, I know that I have to live with myself for what I've done. Angel may have had her memories erased, but I wouldn't want to forget even if I had the choice. Because I want to be better and the only way I can do that is by remembering my mistakes."
"I… can relate to that," Eda said. "I have made my fair share of mistakes and I would never want to forget them despite the pain they caused me." She looked up at Abigail, quiet for a moment. "You know, Luz told me that she wants to spend more time in the Human Realm with you and Camila… which I think is a good idea." Abigail looked up at Eda, her eyes widening. Eda just smiled at her. "I do owe you so much time with your goddaughter, so agreeing to let her spend more time with you and Camila is the least I can do for you. She is your family too, after all."
Abigail looked at Eda, she didn't know how to react but she did give a smile "Thank you, Eda. I appreciate it."
In the forest where the wedding was to take place, the human residents had gathered for the circle. The Gatesfield and Echo Creek kids were in their picked suits while the Gravity Falls kids were in the same outfits they wore at the Northwest Party not too long ago. Jackie had Kay held while sitting between Marco and Janna on their mat.
It was not long before the witch guests, with most of the teens in their Grom outfits, arrived from the Demon Realm. Ford, in his usual attire but with a bowtie, greeted them. "Welcome, witches from the Boiling Isles, allow me, Dipper, and King to show you to the circle."
"Thank you, Ford," spoke Lilith, who walked up in a black suit and tie.
"Oh, um… Lilith," Ford said in surprise. "Um… I didn't, I mean… nice seeing you again."
"I'm sure," Lilith responded in a deadpan tone. The ghost of Vina floated next to her and was surprised to see Ford.
"Stanford…" Vina commented in shock.
"Okay, so where are our spots in the circle?" Gus asked.
"Yeah, I should be at the center of the circle," Eve responds while in her purple pantsuit and holding an Azura book Luz lent her. "I'm the oracle to help marry Luz and Amity, or faux-marry."
"Wow, so this is what the Human Realm is like," Linkin said in surprise while in his black suit.
"So this is where you were stranded, Eve?" Korn asked while in his green suit and red tie, the Cerberus Sisters in a black dress.
"I wish I could bring Nica here, but Luz wanted to limit who was coming here," Sioux said while wearing a white dress with a blue ribbon.
"Nica?" Jerbo asked.
"She means Veronica," Patti teased, much to Sioux's dismay.
Eda, Abigail and Rose came back just in time, seeing the witch guests arrive. King spotted them. "Hey, you're just in time! Our friends from the Isles are here, including the family!"
Eda smiled when she spotted Lilith along with their parents. "Lily, Mom, dad and… Odie?!" she exclaimed, seeing Odalia there along with her brother Geist. Odalia wore a purple pantsuit while Geist wore a teal suit. She walked over to them. "Sorry, I'm surprised to see you here."
"Yes, your daughter has invited me," Odalia responded.
"Oh, well that was nice of her," Eda said. After a moment of silence passed between them, Eda rubbed the back of her head awkwardly. "So… how have you been?"
"Well…" Odalia said, feeling just as awkward around Eda since it occurred to them that they had not directly spoken since Eda confronted a drunk Odalia while looking for bugs in Blight Manor. So much had happened since then, including Odalia's role in Eda being cursed becoming public knowledge…
"Odalia has nowhere else to go right now, so she's living with us for a while," Dell said while wearing simply a tie.
"Her original living arrangements had some… complications," Gwen tried to explain.
"Hey, let's not get too depressed," Geist spoke up, trying to lighten the mood. "This is a special event so why don't we find a spot to sit in the circle."
"Yes, we should," Odalia responded as they went to find their spot.
The Gravity Falls residents saw the witches including the Clawthornes with Eda as Wendy, in her usual attire with a black bowtie, asked Dipper. "Hey, is that Luz's family and friends over there?"
"Yup," Dipper replied while setting up the camera.
"So wait, Luz really does come from a witch family?" Nate asked while he, Lee and Thompson looked shocked.
"Yup," Dipper responded. "They are from a place called the Boiling Isles in the Demon Realm."
"Wow, that is…" Lee said.
"That is a lot to take in," Thompson finished. He turned to Robbie. "Dude, did you know?"
Robbie shrugged. "I found out before I returned to town," he admitted while Tambry took a photo. "You get used to it."
Nora was with Poolcheck, who had been invited by Vee, and she noticed that he seemed pretty unfazed. "You don't seem to care, do you Ian?" she asked.
"I have seen things that would have driven any other man mad," Poolcheck replied with his usual gruff.
"Right…" Nora responded.
Emira was with Edric and Viney as they sat in their reserved spot. Edric turned to Emira, who just formed a frown. "You alright, Em?" he asked nervously, knowing who she was looking at.
"I'm fine, just… can't believe she's here…" Emira responded while glaring at Odalia, who was seated with her brother, Lilith, and the Clawthorne grandparents. She wanted to give Odalia a piece of her mind, but she knew that right now was not the right time.
"Hey, we're here for you, Em," Viney reassured her, patting her hand. "Just focus on your sister's special day, okay?"
"Yeah, you don't have to talk to mom or anything," Edric said. "If you need anything, we'll help you."
Emira turned to them and gave a smile. "Thanks, guys."
Matt was looking around the forest. "Wow, so this is what the Human Realm looks like!" he said excitedly while seeing the other humans. "Other humans… as president of HAS, I should act more diplomatically." He turned to Gus. "Gus, you were the previous president, how do you greet them?"
"Just say hi and give a complimentary fist bump," Gus said while spotting Gus G. "Hey, you should meet Gus-Two."
"Hi, Gus-Two!" Amelia waved to Gus Gordon as he came up to them.
"What's up, guys," Gus G. responded as he gave Gus and Amelia fist bumps. He turned to Mattholomule. "Glad to see some new faces here."
"Hi, my name is President Mattholomule Storms," Matt introduced himself. "President of the Human Appreciation Society. It is an honor to meet you, human."
"Honor to meet you too, Mr. President," Gus G responded, giving Matt a fist bump. Matt's eyes shone when he performed a Human Realm greeting.
Jessica was also in awe. "Wow, this place does look amazing," she commented while with Summer and Morty, who didn't look as impressed.
"Are you two okay?" Willow asked.
"Yeah, our grandpa used to take us to a lot of weird trips," Summer explained. "We're basically sterile from amazement."
"Yep, like even as a witch version of myself, being in the Human Realm is kinda niche," Morty admitted.
Lilith looked at all the humans and then turned to Vina, seeing the look of surprise on her face. "This is actually only my third trip here, honestly," she admitted.
"I'm… surprised to see this many humans around," Vina admitted. "They're not like what Belos described them to be… I'll confess, this realm is not how I imagined it."
Acorn was flying around when she spotted her mom along with the pixie guards as they sat on a spot near Camila, Clara, Masha, and Abigail. "Glad to see you came, mom," Acorn said.
"Since this girl helped patch things up between us, I felt like this was the least I could do," Juniper replied with a smile as Acorn smiled back.
The ceremony then started once everyone was in their places. Gus Gordon along with Skara and the SSE held their instruments as they started to play the music.
[Cue Purple Rain- Prince Bardcore]
The witches drew their spell circle as they cast a light spell that twirled around like ropes. Eve was there at the center, waiting for the brides.
Coming down from the sky was Amity in her wedding dress and her staff, Acorn flying alongside her. Everyone is amazed by how Amity looked, especially with her black eyeliner.
As Amity landed in the center, everyone spotted a shadow passing overhead. They all looked up and saw Luz on top of Owlbert. Luz was wearing a blue tailor coat jacket with a white button shirt and blue pants with blue high-heel boots. Her hair was done in a ponytail and she had black eye shadow. She flew down, landing next to her girlfriend.
Luz removed Amity's veil and smiled. "You look beautiful."
Amity smiled back. "You do too."
Once the music stopped, Eve spoke up. "We have gathered here today to see these two in a, well, pretend ceremony event. But despite being what it is, it is also a promise ceremony. Two young souls from different worlds have fallen for each other. Despite the tests and trials they have had to overcome, they are still here and still together. We thank the Titan, Loki, or whatever higher being that humans worship in this realm, and ask them to bless these two in this matrimonial ceremony. If you two have a verse to say, you may speak."
Luz spoke first. "Amity Goodfellow, there is no one I want to be with more than you. You're a flame that keeps me going, a reason I fight for, a reason I live for… I've made the right choice by being with you."
"Luz Noceda Clawthorne," Amity said, fighting back tears. "Your first name means 'light' which is very fitting, considering that you are the light of my life. And I will continue to fight for you to keep that light going."
"Short and sweet," Eve said with a nod. "And now, for all holding the light ropes, twirl it down to the center of the couple," she explained. "Luz, Amity, may you perform the exchange of your personal items."
As the light circle twirled around, Luz took her skull earrings out and placed them in Amity's ears. "Here, my skull earrings. Had them during my goth phase, and I would be honored for you to have them."
"And I shall honor them," Amity said as she then slipped off her eclipse moon necklace and placed it on Luz. "And I would love you to have my Azura-medallion necklace. I've had it since I was ten and I would be honored for you to have it."
"And I shall honor it as well," Luz responded while the light swirled around them.
"And now, you two may kiss!" Eve declared, Amity and Luz wasting no time as they pressed their lips against each other. Just as the light twirled around them, balls of light sprung out from them. Everyone started clapping and cheering for the mock newlywed couple.
Boscha was seen tearing up as she started to cry. Cat was there to pat her gently on the. Camila did the same as she teared up when she clapped. Gus created an illusion of a rainbow popping up above them with 'CONGRATS to the LUMITY WEDS!' on it.
At the reception, everyone got to have some food and cake while interacting with one another. Luz and Amity saw the Azura and Hecate wedding cake and cut a piece.
"Wow, I didn't know there'd be an Azura themed wedding cake," Luz commented while tasting a piece. "Mmm, good."
"Well it was tough to find the right cake at the last minute, but it was worth it for you two," Pacifica responded.
"Thank you, Pacifica," Amity told her, which made Pacifica smile. Amity then noticed Odalia, who was standing nearby awkwardly.
Amity turned to Luz, who encouraged her with a nod. Amity then walked up to Odalia, who was surprised to see her coming over to her.
"Amity, I-" Before Odalia could finish, her daughter embraced her in a hug.
"I'm glad that you're here," Amity admitted. "And I just want to say… I forgive you, mom. For everything."
Odalia's eyes widened, tears leaking from them as she hugged Amity back. "I… thank you, Amity."
Amity wiped away her own tears. "I just wish dad was here to see this."
"I do too, Amity," Odalia told her with a sigh.
"You know, I'd like it for both of you to be there when I officially marry Luz once we're grown up," Amity told her.
Odalia smiled at the idea. "I promise that we will help your father," she told her daughter. "We will beat Arthur and Destiny."
"I know we will," Amity said, nodding.
Luz smiled at the moment, feeling proud that she managed to help Amity and Odalia find peace. She then saw a teary eyed Boscha walking up to her.
"Oh my Titan, this is… such a nice wedding," Boscha said as she blew her nose. "Just want to say congrats, you two."
"Thanks, Boscha, that means a lot," Luz replied before she leaned over to whisper. "Oh, you know what I think you'd like? To meet the author of Azura here."
Boscha's three eyes widened. "Really?" she asked before being pulled over to McGucket, who was doing a jig in his nicest suit. "Wait, is that him?"
"Yup," Luz confirmed. "Hey McGucket, come over here and meet another fan of your books. Boscha, meet Mildred Featherwhyle, also known as Fiddleford McGucket. He is the old town coot, an apparent genius inventor, and apparently a very good author as well."
"Why howdy there! Nice to meet ya!" McGucket said as he came over and shook Boscha's hand.
"Nice to meet you too, sir," she replied while turning to Luz. "He is everything you've described, Luz."
Watching McGucket and Boscha, Ford had a look of guilt as Lilith walked over to him.
"Stanford," Lilith spoke to him, causing him to turn to her. "Are you alright?"
"Yeah, just… well…" Ford sighed. "You see him over there, that's my old colleague, Fiddleford." He pointed to McGucket. "Thirty years ago, he was a great inventor who helped me with the portal project. But he's… lost so much… because of me." He shook his head. "Everyone that I have gotten close to has gotten hurt because of me. McGucket drove himself mad and ended up driving his family away, my friend Staggitarious lost his body and became a recluse, and my brother Stanley spent three decades trying to bring me back and is now rotting in prison because of it… and I never said anything to him back when I should have." He sighed. "Why do I just cause problems for the people that I care about?"
"I… know the feeling," Lilith admitted while spotting Odalia talking to Amity.
"See, that's why you shouldn't let people get close," Vina declared, crossing her arms. "You just end up getting hurt or you end up hurting them."
Despite Vina's opinion, Lilith decided to speak to Ford. "Ford, do you know what I've learned from experience? If you don't give up on people, they are less likely to give up on you. And sometimes people can surprise you. Maybe… just maybe, it is not too late for you to try to make things right with McGucket or Staggs or your brother."
"What… do you suggest that I do?" Ford asked him.
"Is… there a way for you to see your brother?" Lilith asked him. "Unless he's not petrified."
"He isn't… but maybe there is a way," Ford replied.
Meanwhile, Jessica was trying out the catering. "Mmm, never knew human food was so delish," she commented.
"Jessica," said a familiar voice.
She turned around. "Morty?" she asked, only to be met with a sudden flash of green light.
Meanwhile, Rose had met up with Eda, Abigail, Clara, Masha, and Willow.
"Well, I've really enjoyed my time here in Gravity Falls, but I should really head back to New York," Rose told them.
"Yeah, I had a feeling you were going to leave," Eda admitted as the two nodded at each other.
"Well, it was nice to see you again, Rose," Willow said.
"Yeah, it was nice," Rose agreed. "But don't worry, we will see each other again. After all, we're friends."
Masha, Clara and Willow smiled, as Clara replied. "Yeah, say hi to Hailey for us when you head back."
"And Fu Dog," Masha added with a smile.
"And if you see Susan and John, tell them to expect me and my family to come by seeing you guys soon," Eda told her.
"Will do, Eda," Rose replied while turning to Abigail and giving her a hug. "And it was so nice to meet you, Gail."
Abigail hugged her back. "Just be careful out there, Rose. Please…"
Meanwhile, Luz met up with Dipper. "Yo, Little Dip!" Luz said as she hugged Dipper before noogling his head. "Glad to be here for your stepsis's wedding?"
"Haha, you know it, Luz!" Dipper responded as Luz let him go.
"Hello!" said a pair of green-haired siblings who popped up between them.
"Wah!" Dipper backed away, startled by the Blight twins. "Oh, Amity's siblings."
"Yeah, nice to formally meet our 'brother-in-law,'" Emira said, smiling mischievously.
"Amity mentioned that you also had a twin," Edric pointed out, also with a mischievous smile.
"Yeah, Mabel isn't around but, I think she would love to meet you two," Dipper pointed out. "She would probably want us to do some twin shenanigans…"
"Aw, now I wanna meet her," Emira said. "That way, we'd be the double twin in-laws of the newly wed couple."
"Yeah, I wish Mabel could have been here to see this," Luz replied. "Stan too."
Dipper nodded. "If Stan were here, he'd probably have a shotgun." The two laughed, knowing that would be a Stan thing to do. "I sure miss him,"
"Yeah, me too, Mason," Luz agreed with a sigh.
Over with Waddles and Gompers were Camila and King. Camila simply wore a suit jacket with her usual outfit while King simply wore a tie. He fed Maurice a little snack.
"It's pretty neat, isn't it?" King asked her. "Getting to see Luz and Amity married, even though it's not legal."
"Yeah, it really is," Camila said, nodding in agreement, though it looked like her mind was elsewhere at the moment.
King noticed this. "Hey um, are you alright, Camila?"
"Oh, I'm fine, King," Camila responded. "It's just… I'm so lucky that I get to be here and continue being a part of Luz's life. And seeing all of Luz's friends and family here… it really highlights how my daughter turned out just fine despite everything." She looked down with a saddened expression. "I just wish her father would see this."
King gave a sentimental nod. "Yeah, me too. Even if I haven't met him, I bet he'd love to be here if he could."
"He would," Camila said while watching Luz head back over to Amity, hugging her. "But you know, if those two girls can decide to still be together in spirit while being worlds apart… maybe me and Luz could do the same."
"Weh?" King asked in confusion. "What do you mean?"
"Well, Luz has made a plan to live with me and Abby here in the Human Realm after finishing up her business in the Demon Realm," Camila mentioned, shifting her eyes. "So maybe… I should get a head start without her. Like, I'm thinking of taking the agents' offer and taking some time for myself in Gravity Falls to get things in order, and find a new life for myself."
"What… but I thought you like living with us!" King pointed out.
"I do, King, I really love the Owl House and I appreciate everyone there who has helped me." Camila said, patting his head. "Including you, nino. But I think we both can agree that I need to get out more. I have to be my own person, not just Luz's mother. And I think Abby and the people of this town could help me."
King nodded, understanding what she meant. "Alright, just be sure to let Luz and Eda know."
"I will," Camila said with a nod.
Luz was sharing Amity the pictures of those she pranked, which gave Amity a smile. "Oh man, you actually shaved Felicity?" Amity asked her.
"Oh yeah, thank Cat for that," Luz replied as she scrolled up. "Wait until you see how Gibson and the old coots are doing…"
"Hey, Luz, Amity," Morty said as he walked up to the two with a worried look, which they noticed. "Um, have you two seen Jessica anywhere?"
"No, she was at the tables last time we saw her," Amity replied.
"Dammit, I hope she didn't run off somewhere," Luz said while looking around.
"Actually, I kinda did."
The three turned around and saw Jessica having popped up out of nowhere. But she wore a different outfit than the purple fuchsia dress she previously had. Instead she wore a gray scarf with red, blue and yellow stripes at each end, a long white lab coat, a yellow sun hat with a red band, a light-blue vest with a hanging red bow-tie with a blue 'J' on, a black belt, blue shorts with black leggings, and white boots. She also had a pair of goggles hanging around her neck. This definitely confused the three.
"Jessica… when did you get changed?" Morty asked.
"Did you go through a costume shop around here?" Luz asked her.
"Actually, I've just gone through time," Jessica said.
"Uh… what?" Amity asked while Jessica gave a distant look.
"Time… I had nothing but time," Jessica explained. "You see, I am not the Jessica you remember. That Jessica ended up meeting a time traveler named Blendin who took her to deal with something important. He told her it would take a while, that he wanted her to help fix something with her magic… but then the Polaks invaded." She paused and held up her goggles. "These goggles are a memento to Blendin, who sacrificed his life for mine. After that, I tried to use his time tape-roller to make it back home, but I didn't know how to use it… and I ended up breaking it out of stress and getting myself trapped in the time stream. At first, it was madness, but then it was enlightenment… but then, madness again…"
"What is she talking about…?" Luz asks.
"Do you need to sit down, Jessica?" Amity asked her.
But Jessica continued. "But then I realized that maybe I was meant to be trapped in the time-stream," she said while looking up at the stars. "I've seen many versions of myself… mostly human, though some versions of me were mermaids or anthropomorphic animals that the Internet likes to draw art of. Eventually I became made of time… and was destroyed and recreated over and over again. The Time Baby saved me, trained me to become an agent to protect the time stream of this universe… as a Time God."
Jessica turned to Morty and placed her hand on his shoulder. "I thank you, Morty, for bringing me to where I was supposed to be. If not, then this timeline would've been a casualty to the Time Wars. And don't worry, I've already told my parents about this, they understand my situation."
"So, wait, what does this mean for us?" Morty asked, still in shock.
"Don't worry, Morty, you're a sweet guy and there are so many girls that would want you," Jessica said with a look of regret. "I'm just here to hang until the Bureau of Time Travel contacts me for a job. I just got back form dealing a Kang."
"A Kang…?" Luz asked. "Like the comic book character?"
"Don't worry about it… yet," she said while turning to the couple. "As for you two, Professor Time says hi."
"Professor Time…?" Amity asked in confusion.
"Who's he?" Luz asked her.
"It'll all make sense eventually," Jessica replied while holding up a bag. "Would any of you like some Skittles?"
They each grabbed some skittles from Jessica's bag before she walked off and Summer came over. "What happened to Jessica?"
"Apparently she's a Time Lord now," Amity responded.
"Well, only in Gravity Falls would something like this happen," Luz replied with a nod.
"I agree to that settlement," said a voice.
Luz and Amity paused, hearing the familiar, jive-sounding voice as they turned around and saw the familiar Hendrix-style Fae…
"Sly!" Luz and Amity exclaimed, seeing Sly at the food table.
"Now this is some good catering," Sly said while the girls approached him. "Sorry that I came here uninvited."
"Don't worry about it, we're just surprised to see you," Luz responded.
"Yeah, what brings you to town?" Amity asked.
"Well, I've heard from the grapevine that old Oberon got dethroned by Maleficent and I heard what her kid did in the Boiling Isles." He turned to Amity. "I thought I would drop by and check up on you. Are you okay?"
"Yeah, it is just that a lot has happened over the weekend," Amity replied. "And everyone in the Isles now knows that I am part-Fae…"
"Which is where I come in," Sly said. "Ms. Amity Goodfellow, you are part-Fae, but you don't have much control of your powers, do you?" he asked while Amity confirmed it with a nod. "Then how about I be your mentor?"
"R-Really? You'll help me with my Fae powers?" Amity asked while her and Luz's eyes widened.
"If you want," Sly replied while Eda walked in.
"Hey Luz, Amity, who are you talking with-" Eda stopped when she recognized Sly. "Hey, I know you, you're the Piper guy who likes to dress up like Jimmy Hendrix."
"Pleasure to meet you again, Owl Lady," Sly responded with a small bow.
"Mom, Sly had just offered to help Amity with her Fae-powers," Luz informed her.
"I figured it was the least I can do," Sly responded.
"Well, is that something you'd like to do, Amity?" Eda asked her.
"You should go for it, Ams," Luz encouraged. "He could help you."
Amity thought about it. "Hmm, I mean this is a part of who I am now, so I probably should try to learn all I can about it," Amity replied while looking up at Sly. "So yeah, I would like to learn how to use my Fae abilities from you."
Sly smiled and gave a nod. "Terrific, kid. Now it won't be easy, but I believe you'll get the hang of it eventually," Sly said as his shadow nodded in agreement.
"That reminds me," Amity said while looking down as Sam rose up. "I'd like you to meet my shadow, Sam."
"Hi," Sam said, waving to him.
"Huh," Sly said with an intrigued look. "So you actually named your shadow? Weird…"
"Well, I couldn't just call her Shadow Amity," she replied, a bit confused why naming her shadow was a big deal. Just then Juniper flew past her and went up to Sly.
"Great autumn, you're the Sly!" Juniper squeed at the Fae musician. "Oh my lords, Mr. Sly, my name is Queen Juniper of the Noble Fir Tribe, and I am such a huge fan of your music! I survived Pixie Boarding School listening to your wonderful songs! It would be an honor to stand side by side with you… AAH! Acorn! Take a picture with me and Sly!"
"Mom… you're embarrassing me…" Acorn groaned.
"Is that Acorn's mom?" Luz asked, pointing to the older pixie.
"Yeah," Amity replied before she heard Geist with the microphone on the stage, causing everyone to turn to him.
Geist had Odalia next to him. "Alright, now that I've convinced my sis, Odalia here, to perform a duet with me, our first song was picked out by a friend of the bride, Janet."
"Janna," Janna corrected.
"Right, Janna!" Geist declared as he turned to Odalia. "Just like old times, sis?"
Odalia smiled with a nod. "Though I just hope it doesn't end like the talent show…"
Janna stood next to Marco and Jackie, the latter holding Kay. "What song did you pick out?" Marco asked her.
"Oh you'll see," Janna replied as music started to play.
Hearing the familiar tune, Nora gave a confused look. "Where have I heard this song…"
It was then Geist started to sing while reading the lyrics on the karaoke machine set up. "Oh, I'm gonna find my baby, gonna hold her tight, gonna grab some afternoon delight." The witches were bobbing their heads to the tune while most of the humans were shocked to see the two sibling adults singing the song, "My motto's always been when it's right, it's right, why wait until the middle of a cold dark night?" He gave Odalia a nod, who smiled back as they sang together. "When everything's a little clearer in the light of day~! And we know the night as always gonna be there any way…!"
Luz was silently laughing while covering her mouth while Amity looked confused. Eda had to contain her snicker while Camila just blushed.
"Are they aware of what they're singing?" Gus G asked Masha.
"No, I don't…" Masha replied.
"Now that's a neat song about breakfast," Skara said while Willow nodded. Clara just looked awkward while listening to the song.
"Thinking of you working up my appetite, looking forward to a little afternoon delight," Odalia sang. "Rubbing sticks and stones together makes the sparks ignite, and the thought of loving you is getting so excited,"
"Sky rockets in flight!" the two sang. "Afternoon delight! A~Afternoon delight! Afternoon delight~!"
Amity gasped after Luz told her about the meaning of the song. Amity just gave an awkward blush before she marched over to Janna. "Janna, what did you do?"
"What? I gave your uncle a song selection, and he picked out the first one," Janna said. "Besides, your friends are enjoying this."
Amity shook her head and turned to Marco. "I should've listened to your warning…"
"Starting out this morning feeling so polite, I always thought a fish could not be caught who wouldn't bite. But you've got some bait waiting and I think I might try nibbling a little afternoon… delight…?" It was then that Geist and Odalia realized something was off about the lyrics of the song as they continued. "Sky rockets in flight! Afternoon delight…! When…. Afternoon delight… afternoon delight~!"
The two realized the meaning of the song while the music continued to play. They looked into their audience and saw how awkwardly the humans were reacting to it while the witches were still enjoying this. Odalia spotted Eda in the back just laughing to herself while Lilith hid her face.
"Come on, sing some more!" Wendy cheered.
The two siblings looked at each other, wondering what to do before the lyrics came back. As the lyrics appeared again, they just… raised the mic and continued to sing.
"Please…be waiting for me, baby, when I come around! We… could make a lot of loving for the sun goes down," the two sang, deciding to roll with it.
"Thinking of your working up my appetite, looking forward to a little afternoon delight," Odalia sang.
"Rubbing sticks and stones together makes the sparks ignite, and the thought of loving you is getting so exciting," Geist sang as the two sang together "Sky rockets in flight! Afternoon de~light! Aaaa-Afternoon delight! Afternoon delight! Afternoon delight!"
"Aaaaaaaa~! Afternoon delight!"
After the song ended, the witches clapped and cheered. The humans decided to go along with it as they clapped along as well.
Next Robbie went up on stage, choosing a song while everyone else started to dance.
"Hey baby, won't you look my way? I can be your new addiction!" Robbie sang while playing his guitar along with the SSE. "Hey baby, what you gotta say? All you're giving me is fiction!"
Luz and Amity started to dance together while everyone else dances along as well. Those who danced together in pairs included Matt and Bo, Emira and Viney, Clara and Masha, and Amelia with Gus G. Dipper and Candy also danced along while Dipper tried to not be nervous around her, while Pacifica and Grenda also danced with each other. Gwen and Dell waltzed around while the band played the music.
"I'm a sorry sucker and this happens all the time, I found out that everybody talks, everybody talks, everybody talks!"
As Marco danced with Jackie, Janna just shrugged and watched from the sidelines, though she still smiled at seeing her friends having a good time. She turned to see King, Edric, Gus and Jerbo getting a photo taken by Rudo and Dana and she decided to photobomb them.
"It started with a whisper! And that was when I kissed her! And then she made my lips hurt, I could hear the chit chat, take me to your love shack! Mama's always gotta back track when everybody talks back!"
Amity held up to Kay, dancing around with her. Luz held up the bouquet, the girls preparing to catch it. Luz shut her eyes and threw it up in the air. Boscha, Cat, Bo, Summer, Willow and Skara try to catch it, but to their shock, the one who jumped up to catch it… was Barcus. He walked over to hand the bouquet to the Cerberus Sisters, who smiled sweetly at him.
Eda danced along with McGucket with their arms locked. Nora danced with Ian Poolcheck, who did own weird little dance that Nora just decided to go along with. Camila spotted Abigail, who sat by one of the tables.
"Come on, why don't you join everyone else?" Camila encouraged.
"Oh, I don't know, I don't dance much," Abigail responded with a shrug.
"Hey, everyone's having fun, Abby. I think you deserve some fun as well," Camila responded.
Abigail smiled at this and stood up. "Alright," she said as she walked to the dance floor with Camila. The two began to dance together, Abigail quickly getting into it and the two sharing a laugh. Dancing near them were Wendy and Vee and Robbie and Tambry after Robbie let Linkin take over to dance with her.
"It started with a whisper!" Linkin sang. "And that was when I kissed her, and then she made my lips hurt! I could hear the chit chat, take me to your love shack!"
Odalia sat by a table with Lilith. "Well, other than the awkward subtext of that karaoke, this has been a fun pretend wedding," Lilith commented.
"Yes, it is," Odalia replied while turning to Lilith. "And how is your, um, spirit enjoying the wedding? You know, perhaps I could help you out with your spirit problem if you want."
"Hmm, well you are an oracle," Lilith said while turning to Vina. "She could be of help, you know?"
Vina just sighed. "Fine, have it your way."
Lilith nodded and turned to Odalia. "Vina said she would be happy to let you help her," she said, much to Vina's dismay. "And maybe… maybe you'd like to dance?"
Odalia thought about it before shaking her head. "I would rather not," she said while looking down, Lilith remembering herself and awkwardly looking away.
"R-right, sorry for bringing it up…"
"Never thought I'd live to see the day when everybody's words got in the way!"
Geist started performing some of his illusions, which wowed Blubs, Durland, Soos, Thompson, Nate, and Lee.
"Wow! Magic…" Durland commented while watching the illusion of dolphins fly through the air and around them.
"Boy, you witch dudes sure know how to party," Soos commented.
"Back home, I'm the life of the party!" Geist declared. "Hey Ed, where's your sister so we can show them some illusion magic!"
Edric looked around. "Huh, I don't know where she is right now…"
"Don't worry, I can assist instead," Gus offered as he and Edric combined their spells with Geist's, wowing their audience even more.
Meanwhile, a fair distance from the party, Emira and Viney were hidden under an illusion, making out with each other in private.
Back at the party Luz and Amity sat by each other, watching everyone dancing. "Look at this, Luz. Everyone, witches, demons, pixies and humans, all getting along together," Amity commented.
"Yeah," Luz responded with a nod. "And all brought together because of us." She hung her arm around Amity. "I love you so much."
"I love you too, Luz," Amity said as the two shared a kiss.
They did not spot someone standing near a tree behind them, watching them kiss and the others party. It was a man wearing a blue trenchcoat and a fedora hat. The man smiled, but did not reveal himself. After all, to most of the people here, he was but a stranger.
After seeing enough, Pastor Norman McCay from Echo Creek turned around and began to walk away, disappearing into the shadows. Nobody had even noticed he was here, McCay having come and gone like a phantom.
Driving away from Gravity Falls was a van being driven by Angel and the Huntsman.
"Don't worry, those agents won't be able to track us down," Angel said while the Huntsman grumbled in the passenger seat. "What?"
"There were so many magical creatures in this town, not to mention an entire gathering of witches!" the Huntsman complained. "We should have done something, but instead you had us chasing old memories!"
"We couldn't draw too much attention to ourselves," Angel pointed out. "Going back to Gravity Falls was already big enough of a risk. But a risk that I think will pay off…"
She patted her coat pocket, which had a canister in it… her memory canister.
A sure fun mock wedding for those two lovebirds, ain't it?
This chapter may consider be a Pride special, where having a Lumity wedding(or faux wedding) would be appropriate to have for this time of month. Having Luz and Amity receiving a little wedding for them to have if they're going to be world's apart. Feel like this would be good especially with the whole Lumity wedding fanart I've been seeing. Though I haven't seen any Lumity wedding fics(yet), so this feels appropriate to have.
Having the Huntsman returned was something that we've decided to do. It would be a wasted opportunity to not bring him back to encounter Eda and Abigail again, considering their personal connections with him.
Admittedly, the whole "girl that Blendin is supposed to find" in Gravity Falls was something we've come up out of the whim. We did have someone else in mind, but for now the girl could be Jessica. Guess that in the end, Jessica ends up becoming a Time God even in the LCU. Her new outfit is based off of the famous Doctors like the Fourth and Seventh, as she's also doubles as a Renet expy(the time traveling girl from the TMNT franchise).
We also knew that Eda and Abigail would have to spend some time together at this point and we knew that it had to be either this chapter or the previous one while Eda was in Gravity Falls.
Also looks like we got new OCs spotted. Ranet and Tenar, two investor twins who are expies of Tomax and Xamot from the GI Joe franchise.
Songs used for the fic are "Afternoon Delight" by the Starland Vocal Band, which is what I picked out because of a reference from Arrested Development and just couldn't pass up the opportunity to do. I mean, it's not my fault that Seth and Rachel McFarlande have good chemistry…
Another song at the end is "It Started with a Whisper" by Neon Tree.
And Luz sings the Tunnel of Hell poetry from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.
Also the chapter's title is a homage to the Billy Idol song "White Wedding"
And now for the reviews:
Guest: 1) Probably at Book 3. 2) Yes, it's still going to happen.
Spantidem7: No, and this chapter. It's not a real wedding but a promise for a better future.
Crosshot: Let's say this arc is the "Tarot Guild Arc", and yeah Eda has talked to Rose. For the Mel part, it was going to happen eventually, but don't worry, it's just a small cult run by some kid.
Matteso585: 1) Let's see. 2) Not yet. 3) I mean, they aren't. Redback and Jane's presence should indicate that they're not evil. 4) Not really.
Franco Almiron: About as dangerous as messing around with plutonium, I reckon.
Shuffollower: Amity pretty much figured it out eventually what Amber planned. For your question about Skara and Maya, well they may have the same voice actress, but unlike Mae Whitman who's voice is more recognizable and the same, Kimberly D. Brooks just have range in her voice. Maya mostly would sound like Jasper from Steven Universe. For the Vina question, well just think how many celebrities in real life, like Bill Cosby, JK Rowling, and Marilyn Manson turned out to be horrible. The Emperor's Coven tends to cover up their own celebrities dirty laundry. I don't know what you mean by hints and as for the last one… well, probably not since Luz and Eda are too busy with their own thing.
Alamout: 1) Yes, it's not that hard to believe that a crooked chicken lawyer would be a cannibal. 2) Yes. 3) Well Luz and Eda would just have fans, but then again fandoms and cults tend to be the same thing, like religion… which isn't that far from different. 4) I would say… spoilers.
Krypton Joy Writes: We have been saving up that twist in a while.
Also should mentioned, but I've decided to set up a poll which is now opened in my profile. Check it out and you can vote for what kind of story would you like me to write in the eventual future. Now it doesn't mean I'll work on them on a weekly basics like Luz Clawthorne, but something fun to have up and see what kind of story do you guys like for me to do.
Happy Pride Month! ️ 🌈
