Dean sat at the desk in their hotel room, trying to will the heat from his coffee mug into his freezing hands. He'd showered and gotten into dry clothes, but he couldn't shake off the chill. Sam sat on the end of his bed. Sophie was bundled with every blanket they could find, sleeping hard. Dean hadn't bothered to get her cleaned up yet, so blood still dripped from the scrapes on her body, and she was still covered in mud. He'd ask for new sheets later that night.

"We can't leave her in the car can we?" He said, sipping his coffee.

"I don't think we should," Sam agreed, "We may not expect another seizure like that any time soon, but really anything that could cause her to loose awareness or loose consciousness…"

"We shouldn't leave her alone and in danger," Dean finished for him.

"So this hunt?" Sam prompted.

"I guess we buy her a pair of hiking boots and a crucifix and bring her with us," Dean shrugged, "She's gotten pretty handy with that baseball bat. Maybe we give her pocket salt…you know like pocket sand…but for ghosts?"

"That is…" Sam began, intending to mock his brother's idea, "Actually a really good thought."

"Okay," Dean said, "Then it is settled. We research and interview tomorrow, get her some boots and some rock salt, and hit the trails as soon as we have a solid lead."

A long moment passed in silence as they both sipped their coffee.

"How are you Dean?" Sam asked, breaking the silence.

"What do you mean how am I? I'm fine," Dean replied curtly.

"I mean your surprisingly serious girlfriend had a grand mal seizure on the side of the road this afternoon," Sam said, "You're good at the migraine stuff. You're used to taking care of me. But convulsions? Wiping blood out of her mouth? That's terrifying."

"Damn straight," Dean muttered.

"So are you okay?" Sam asked again.

"As long as she's still breathing? Yeah, I'm okay."

Another long moment passed in silence.

"We're very short on cash," Sam said.

"There's gotta be a sketchy pool bar somewhere in this town," Dean replied.

"Then I guess we're introducing Sophie to our other family business," Sam said.
