Episode 2: Chapter 7
The weather had cleared up enough now that the school was open again, which meant Sophie stood nervously by the front doors, waiting for Kyle to arrive. She adjusted her skirt for probably the third time in the past ten minutes, this would the first time they'd be revealing to the school, not just their friends but everyone, that they were now dating. It was that this moment that Kyle arrived, smiling at her warmly as he dusted the snow off the shoulders of his jacket.
"Hey."
She smiled back and closed the gap between them, kissing softly before they held hands and headed for their lockers.
"So, ready for the others to find out?" Sophie asked.
Kyle smiled and nodded. "Yeah, it'll be fine, whatever happens, we'll face it together, alright."
Sophie also nodded, feeling more confident already. It turned out to be a good thing too for at that moment they met up with all their friends and sure enough it was immediately noticeable that they were holding hands.
"Oh hello...what's this?" Clem asked with a grin.
Kyle shared a smile with Sophie. "Well, Sophie and I are dating now."
"Yeah...we, we ended up stuck together during the blizzard and we got to talking." She explained. "We finally just admitted how we've both been feeling for a while."
The others all grinned and indeed it was a delightful and hopeful situation.
Of course it all had to be ruined by Sophie's twin.
"WHAT IS THE MEANING OF THIS!"
Sophie groaned and Kyle rolled his eyes as Minerva stalked up to them.
"Sophie, how could you take such a risk!" Minerva snapped at her, outraged before rounding on Kyle. "And you, how dare you even touch her, you think I don't know what you're planning."
Kyle shook his head. "You clearly don't, you don't even know me-"
"I KNOW ENOUGH! If you think for one minute-!" Minerva continued.
The others shared an anxious look, noting the crowd that was beginning to form around them.
"Minerva shut up."
There were gasps around the whole crowd, even the friend group were shocked and Minerva was frozen, eyes wide in disbelief, as it was Sophie who spoke and not only that, she had addressed her by her full name rather than her nickname.
"S-Sophie-" Minerva gasped, clearly unbalanced by this.
Sophie shook her head. "You just can't accept that I'm happy like this, that I'm having an actual life, you have to always try and ruin things for me, all because you can't accept it."
Minerva growled, unable to believe this, but that was when things all fell apart.
"Enough!"
They all turned to see Mr. Carver approaching angrily.
"Causing a disruption like this, unbelievable, I never thought I'd see something like this from you young ladies. Well that's it, both of you, detention! Now everyone, get to class."
Everybody hurried away, Kyle reassuring Sophie it would be alright, Sophie finally done with her sister and her controlling actions and Minerva left reeling with the realization that her sister was no longer under her control.

Newly changed out of her school uniform and now dressed in a white T-shirt under her red and black plaid shirt, jeans and boots as well as a black beanie, Clementine smiled as she looked out the window, it was time for something important and so she was waiting for Violet to arrive in order to tell Lee and AJ some important news. As she looked out the window however she saw something else and was pleased to notice that new couples were forming amongst their group, namely the ones she had noticed before, walking past the house were Duck and Sarah, clad respectively in a green hoodie, black beanie with jeans and sneakers and a white shirt under a peach cardigan, black leggings and slip-ons. They were holding hands and clearly very much in love and so too were Gabe and Brody who had come up the other way and stopped to talk with them, Gabe was clad in a black hoodie with a red beanie, jeans and red sneakers and Brody in a navy blue top under a black cardigan, black leggings and slip-ons. She watched them for a while before they went on their way, but then came the doorbell and she realized her attention had lapsed.
"I'll get it!" She called.
With that she hurried to answer the door and sure enough there was Violet, dressed in a purple sweater with black leggings and slip-ons.
"Hey." She greeted warmly.
Violet came in and Clementine closed the door and they shared a small kiss.
"Ready for this?" She asked.
"No." Violet remarked. "But let's get it over with."
Clementine shook her head. "You'll be fine, c'mon, let's go, it'll go great."
With that they headed into the living room where Lee, in a black shirt under a Carhartt jacket, jeans and boots and AJ in a bright blue hoodie, brown slacks and sneakers, were watching the baseball game. It was time for a meeting that Clem knew deep in her heart was going to work out well, it was time to come out to Lee and AJ as a couple.

"I promise you that it'll be fine."
The weather was beginning to warm up, and it was nice enough that Kyle decided to walk over to Sophie's house to officially meet her folks for the first time since the two teens had started dating. He hoped the walk would relax his nerves, but it had only accelerated the anticipation. Sophie had texted him that she would meet him halfway and she stood near a tree.
He thought she looked gorgeous in her dark red sweater, leggings and simple slip-ons. She was also wearing some red lipstick. "Hey, Kyle. Are you ready?"
Kyle shuffled his feet. He was just wearing just a simple black long sleeved shirt, brown slacks and sneakers. He had sat in front of his closet for God knows how long trying to pick a good outfit before settling on what he had on now. He hoped it was good enough.
"I hope so," he said through a thin smile.
"Hey," she said while rubbing his arm reassuringly. "You'll be fine. They'll like you, I promise."
"You sure?" he asked. He didn't mean to seem so needy, but he needed the confidence.
Sophie kissed his cheek. "I'm sure. Now, c'mon, they're waiting."
Sophie gripped his hand and squeezed and the two finished the journey holding hands. Sophie was trying to hide it, but Kyle could tell she was just as nervous as he was.
"Well," Sophie said softly. "Here we are." She stepped to the threshold of the door and looked back. "I'll go in first, but if it makes you feel better, you already know Tenn... and Minerva."
Kyle smiled. "Unfortunately."
They both stepped through the door. Sophie shouted a greeting and Tenn smiled wide. He wore a green shirt with tan cargo pants and sneakers. He immediately brought over a Lego set to show Kyle. Kyle smiled and promised the boy they would do it after they had the dinner the Leigh's had slaved over. He glanced up just to see Minerva, wearing a black hoodie as well as matching ripped jeans and boots, simply scowling at him. If looks could kill, he'd be pushing up daisies.
"Well if it isn't Mr. Sherman himself."
Mr. Leigh came out of the kitchen. He wore a light blue button up tucked under a pair of blue jeans and boots. He reached out a hand and Kyle shook even after he winced from the grip.
"It's nice to meet you, young man. You better be treating my daughter right, you hear?"
Kyle swallowed hard and tried to think of a good reply when Mrs. Leigh thankfully strutted her way out of the kitchen while disregarding her apron. She wore a pink blouse under a black cardigan, black pants and slip-ons.
"Oh, stop it Douglas. The boy just got here and he's right on time!" She smiled warmly at the couple. "Now I hope you both are hungry. And Minerva, take that frown off of your face."
Kyle had to hide a snicker. He just might like Sophie's parents... Well at least her mom.
End of chapter, hope you enjoyed it, read and review please.
