"You know, I shouldn't even be surprised by now."
Thorn, Luna, Mars, and Smilee all looked up towards the cell bars to see Jacoba standing there with her arms crossed and an unamused look on her face. They all shared a look amongst themselves before looking back up at her very sheepishly. None of them really knew what to say, as it wasn't really their fault they were there.
About two hours before, Thorn had gotten bored. He'd been banned from the hanger's workroom (the Hub, as he called it) and didn't want to do much of anything else; it was the typical wanting to so something that one was told they couldn't do. So, Luna had suggested that they go out to a bar. Mars had just come out of the gym, heard Luna talking, and asked to come along. He figured that it would be a fun time. This caused Smilee to groan. He'd been attempting to ignore Thorn and Luna's conversation, hoping beyond hope that he wouldn't be dragged into whatever they were planning. But now that Mars was planning on going, Smilee knew that he had to go with as well. So, he told Mars to go shower and they would leave in about twenty minutes.
That had led them to a bar just outside of New Orleans. It had all been going alright until an older patron had tried to push himself on Luna. She had turned him down multiple times, but then he grabbed her. So, she threw a punch. Which led to an all-out bar fight, which, in turn, led to the jail cell. And the call to Jacoba.
Smile ended up sighing, taking the lead once again. "Sorry, Amazon. It really wasn't our fault this time. In fact, I think they've got the problem man in the next cell, if you want a crack at him."
Jacoba raised her hand to stop him, shaking her head as she did so. "Enough, I already know. The officers have been getting a good laugh about this and told me everything." She waved the officer over to unlock the door. "Just so you all know, when this is all over, I want my sanity back. Maybe Barn should have just left you all to Stonebanks."
"Aw, come on, sis!" Thorn threw his arm around Jacoba's shoulders and began to lead her out of the jail with the other three in tow. "Just think about how the rest of the team will react."
The five of them walked out then to Jacoba's laughter as the rest groaned. At least they ended their night on that note.
