Chapter 83
Cannons and gunfire were all that could be heard as the Coated Pirates went to war with the Big Mom pirates. There were heavy casualties on both sides.
"The big mom pirates are tougher than I thought!" a coated pirate yelled.
"You're telling me! Just lay down already!" another crewmate responded.
"The captain and his inner circle are already on the island handling the big guns! We just need to do our part and get rid of the small fry! Is that understood!?" An admiral of the coated pirates yelled.
"Yes sir!"
The coated pirates began to apply more pressure to the big mom pirates.
"If we can just make it to the island, we can back up the others!"
On the island, Yamashiro groaned in pain from his injury.
"Branch... please..." Yamashiro groaned.
Katakuri walked in front of Yamashiro.
"You've killed both of my brothers, as well as plenty of other family members, you won't leave this island." Katakuri said menacingly.
Branch grinned.
"Mr. Katakuri! My friend is bleeding out pretty bad there... could you step to the side for me?" Branch said.
"I don't think so. First he will die, then all of you." Katakuri said.
Branch smiled even more sinisterly.
"You sure? Good... we prefer the hard way!" Branch yelled as he extended his hand, turning his fingers to bendy tree branches that Katakuri easily cut away, but as he did, more replaced the last.
"I can do this all day." Katakuri said.
"Oh I know!" Branch responded.
Katakuri looked to the left and was instantaneously punched in the face and sent into a cake wall. Lightning surrounded the area as Rationingu looked over at Branch and nodded. Branch smiled.
"I'll leave you to it then!" Branch said, running towards Yamashiro.
Rationingu zapped away and Branch had gotten to Yamashiro and lifted him up.
"You'll be fine soon cook." Branch said.
Before Branch could begin to heal the cook he looked behind him but it was too late! He was stabbed from behind by a haki infused candy sword!
"You killed them..." A voice said.
"Oh come on!" Yamashiro said coughing up blood.
"You killed my brothers!" Perospero said, revealing himself, "Now... you have to die too!" Perosperso said, raising his sword.
SPLAT!
Perospero's eyes rolled in the back of his head and blood rolled down his face. He was shot in the head with an arrow. From the top of a smiling mountain, Seiya lowered his bow and smiled. Chess board soldiers began to make their way to the battlefield.
"Perospero, Daifuku, and Oven have been killed! Show them no mercy!" A soldier yelled.
"Where did the arrow come from!?" Another asked.
"Who'd ya say was dying again freak?" Seiya said.
All of a sudden the mountain began to shake and move.
"You killed Perospero-san! Get off me get off me!" The mountain said.
"What the hell!?" Seiya asked out loud.
"Here! Here! He's over here!" The mountain yelled.
The soldiers immediately looked in Seiya's direction.
"I see him! On top of the mountain! Snipers fire!" A soldier commanded.
At least twenty snipers all got on one knee and began firing rapidly at Seiya.
"Shit!" Seiya said, deflecting bullets with his bow.
Seiya rolled and loaded up a bomb arrow and with a split second chance to aim, fired the arrow through the bullets and hit a soldier!
BOOM!
Five soldiers lost their lives from the strike.
"That bastard! Make your way towards the mountain men! We need more snipers right now!" A soldier commanded.
Soldiers began to make their way towards Seiya and more snipers joined up to shoot at him. It was too much now. Seiya was shot in the side and shoulder!
"Damn it!" Seiya yelled, jumping away.
"Do not let him out of your sight!" A chess soldier yelled.
Cracker and more soldiers surrounded Yamashiro and Branch.
"It's over! Surrender!" A soldier ordered.
Branch smiled.
"We don't know the meaning of that word." Branch said, being smacked into the ground by a gun.
"Silence! This is Branch "The Long Leg" he's worth big money to the government!" A soldier said.
"That one is too! He's worth even more! He's the one who attacked the Holy Land according to the papers, and a recently escaped convict of Impel Down!" Another soldier said.
"Take them both to the dungeon!" Cracker said.
The soldiers grabbed Yamashiro and Branch.
"I... I'm dying..." Yamashiro said.
"And we'll finish the job if you're not silent!" The soldier said, lifting Yamashiro on his shoulders.
"These bastards killed my damn brothers... they'll all pay. I can't wait to watch your execution on the tv!" Cracker said.
Cracker and soldiers walked through more woods.
"You punks sure made a mess of things, but it don't matter! After mama slaughters your captain we'll hand you two over to the government and kill any others." Cracker boasted.
Cracker felt something running down his nose.
"Hm? A nose bleed?" Cracker said, wiping the blood on his hand.
The blood slowly came away from Cracker's finger and turned into a fist.
"WHAT IN THE HELL!" Cracker yelled as he was punched square in the face!
"FIRE!" The soldiers yelled and gunfire erupted throught the forest, shooting and killing the living trees and exposing the hiding spot of Misuta.
"Damm it I didn't expect them to just start shooting!" Misuta yelled, creating an ice shield and running for more cover.
The blood dropped to the ground and dashed behind a rock and transformed back into Yugami.
"Neither did I! These guys are mad!" Yugami said, looking up.
SPLAT SPLAT!
Yugami was shot in the shoulder twice by haki bullets.
"They-They're using haki bullets too!" Yugami groaned, healing himself.
Cracker began clapping and creating dozens of cracker warriors.
"My cracker warriors are invincible! You have no chance of surviving!" Cracker yelled.
"What the hell are we going to do now!? What was Frank thinking attacking these guys?" Misuta said.
"It doesn't matter now! We have to find a way out of here!" Yugami said.
Misuta looked back and was almost hit in the head with a bullet.
"Damn it! Is there anything you can do blood guy!? Don't attacks go through you or something?!" Misuta asked.
"They're using haki bullets you fool! My devil fruit powers don't matter when haki is involved." Yugami explained.
"Haki this, haki that, what's up with haki anyway?" Misuta asked, amist the gunfire.
"You wanna talk about this now!?" Yugami asked angrily.
Misuta grit his teeth.
"Damn... wait, I don't have devil fruit powers! Their haki bullets won't work on me!" Misuta exclaimed.
"And you're saying something NOW!?" Yugami yelled.
Misuta tapped the ice crystal on his head and instantly he was covered in impenetrable ice.
"Okay... I'm gonna draw most of their fire when I run out in the open... I'll grab the doctor and you grab the cook. We'll run in two seperate directions!" Misuta said.
Yugami nodded his head. Misuta nodded back.
"O-Okay... Go!" Misuta said, running into the open.
"Hey! Over here you idiots!" Misuta yelled, running into the woods.
"Hey! Stop right there! After him! He's running into the forest! Chase him down!" A chess commander ordered.
Behind the rock, Yugami grit his teeth, then ran and grabbed Yamashiro.
"H-Hey! The puppet master is getting away!" Another soldier yelled.
Cracker was pissed off.
"You're dead!" Cracker said, creating one hundred more warriors instantly, "Chase the red one into the forest! Do not let him get away!"
The cracker warriors and Cracker then chased Yugami and Yamashiro through the forest.
After a while of running, Misuta made it back to the beach with the help of a few coated pirates along the way. He met up with Renji at the port.
"Branch... Misuta... What are the damages?" Renji asked.
"Branch and Yamashiro are busted up pretty bad, but Yugami is saving the cook now. They also found out where Seiya was and they started chasing him. Rationingu began fighting Katakuri and I can hear big booming coming from Big mom's castle so the Captain must have made contact with Big Mom." Misuta explained.
Renji nodded.
"Get him on board. I'm going to the castle." Renji said.
Renji began to run through the island cutting down soldiers as he went if necessary. He eventually made it to the other woods on the island and began walking through them. After a few minutes it got really cold.
"What in the world?" Renji said, with a shocked expression.
Blood was everywhere. All over the trees, the ground, everywhere was painted crimson.
As Renji kept walking, he eventually found out where all that blood came from. Cracker lay dead, completely flat from having all the blood sucked out his body.
"Yugami did this?..." Renji asked himself before following a blood trail deeper in the woods. He developed a slight surprise to see Yamashiro's coat, glasses, and feathers laying in a pool of blood before hearing a booming in the distance.
Renji stared at the jacket, feathers and glasses the turned and glared at the castle in the distance and ran through the forest.
Back at the port, Misuta walked on the front deck and saw a familiar face walking up.
"Blood guy!" Misuta yelled.
Yugami walked onto the ship, and past Misuta.
"Hey what gives? Where's the cook?" Misuta asked.
Yugami turned slowly.
"I'm not gonna ask you again dude... Where is the cook?" Misuta asked again.
Yugami looked Misuta in the eyes.
"He died." Misuta said.
At big mom's castle, both her and Frank were doing a number on each other. Big mom sent Frank flying into a wall with a heavy punch!
BOOM!
Frank emerged from the rubble and smiled.
"When'd ya get so strong old bag!?" Frank yelled, grabbing two pistols from his belt and loading them up with tremors. Frank shot the bullets as a white orb surrounded them. Big mom put her guard up.
"Bullets Frank!? Really!?" Big mom laughed.
"He's underestimating you mama!" Prometheus suggested.
"He'll pay for hurting mama!" Zeus yelled.
The bullets came into contact with Big mom's haki covered arms and cracked the air around the impact point!
"Huh!?" Big mom yelled as she was blasted from the dining room of the castle and out into the back courtyard. Big mom groaned and got to her feet.
Frank jumped out the building.
"Just what the hell do I gotta do to put you down old dog!" Frank yelled.
"Newgate has never been able to hurt me either! I'm invincible!" Big mom yelled, "Kill him my precious!"
Prometheus shot a huge amount of fire as well as Zeus firing lighting at Frank, but the Captain didn't move! Instead he raised his guard and took it!
BOOOOOOOMMMM!
Smoke surrounded the area, when it cleared, Frank stood tall, a little bloody and bruised but very much alive!
"That all you got Lin Lin!? Some emperor you are!" Frank taunted.
Big mom became enraged and grabbed her captain's hat that doubled as a sword and sent a large pink slash at Frank who pulled out his own sword and sent a black and red slash back! The two attacks collided without touching each other and split the sky over them!
"King's haki... maybe you're not such a chump after all." Big Mom said.
"Funny I was just about to say the same to you!" Frank said.
Big mom snapped and slammed her sword down on Frank who blocked it with his own.
"I'll kill you right here and right now! You've killed my family, destroyed my island and castle! I will never forgive you!" Big mom yelled, her eyes red. Frank was forced into a crater, slowly giving in.
"Do you remember what happened the last time you messed with someone out of your league!? BOY!?" Big mom yelled, "That little girl of yours at the time, right!? Psycho killer her right in front of you! MAMMAMAMMA! Then beat you in one blow! We all used to joke about you quitting piracy!" Lin Lin goaded.
Frank, behind a smile, broke. His eyes became empty, and his skin turned black. Frank pulled his sword back, making Big Mom fall forward. Frank slowly but powerfully began to swing and sent a major slash at big mom cutting her across the body, blood spilling everywhere, and cutting her sword in half!
"GUAGGG!" Big Mom yelled as she fell on her back.
Frank walked up, smiling and empty eyed, two red orbs surrounding his fists.
"Did I piss you off?... You little brat! You'll kill me and then what!? Go... fight Psycho!? And lose again!? MAMAMA- ACK!" Big mom coughed up even more blood as Frank continued staring, smiling.
"ST-ST-STAY...O-O-ORRR!" Big mom was interrupted trying to heal herself by Frank slamming down on her throat with a heavy punch. Big mom coughed and choked as she tried to throw one more punch that hit Frank square in the face, but he didn't budge.
"Wh-Wh-Wh-" Big mom couldn't get a word out without coughing.
Frank loaded his foot and peg leg with kings haki and tremor power and shot himself into the air.
Around this time, Renji had arrived at the castle and could basically see through the whole thing. He saw Big mom laying on the ground and Frank...
"Captain!? He's covered in a haki shell... he's only ever done that when..." Renji snapped out of it and ran towards the fight.
Frank cocked back a tremor punch and it shone a bright red with black lightning shooting out of it. Frank blasted a shockwave at big mom forcing her into the ground. Frank sent another, and another, and another until he was punching so fast it looked like he had multiple arms! The island shook, the waves became tsunamis!
"What in the hell is going on!?" Yugami yelled.
"The captain has lost it for some reason..." Branch said, finishing up healing his wound.
"He'll destroy the island at this rate!" Misuta said.
"He won't... where is Renji?" Branch asked.
"He went after the captain." Yugami said.
"Good... Renji will stop him. He's the only one who can." Branch said.
Back at the battlefield Frank's assult had ended and there was a seemingly endless hole punched into the ground. Big Mom was in there. Her final resting place. Frank stared at the hole, haki still all over his body, still smiling.
Renji made it to Frank.
"Captain..." Renji said.
"It's over. You can relax." Renji continued.
Frank slowly looked over his shoulder, smiling. Renji grabbed his sword.
"I'm prepared to do what you told me to do, Captain. Don't do this here." Renji.
Frank turned all the way around and loaded up two tremor fists.
"Did she bring her up? Is that why you're like this?" Renji asked.
Frank stopped walking.
"Remember who you're doing this for, Captain. Remember why you still fight." Renji consulted, walking towards Frank slowly.
Frank, through his empty eyes and seemingly permanent smile, began to form tears as his Vice Captain and best friend hugged him.
"Let's go home Captain. It's over." Renji said softly.
Back at the ship, Rationingu and Seiya joined up with Branch, Yugami, and Misuta.
"So, you took care of Katakuri then?" Branch asked a beaten up Rationingu, with one leg.
Branch finished tying off the cover on Rationingu's leg and turned to bandage up Seiya's eye.
"I can't believe you actually got shot in the face... what are the odds?" Branch asked.
Seiya grit his teeth with anger.
"They were ready... too ready..." Seiya said.
Branch looked at Seiya.
"What are you insinuating?" Branch asked.
"Somebody talked." Seiya said, staring back at Branch.
"Ha ha ha! Are you serious? Nobody here would dare talk or face the consequences." Branch said.
"I'm not saying any of us did it, but somebody definitely did." Seiya said, "Remember they already had two of our sister ships held hostage before we even showed up."
"The only person who could have possibly set us up would have been... Psycho... but he couldn't have really thought we'd die along with those trash did he?" Branch asked.
Seiya looked up.
"I'm willing to bet he did. I mean look at us. By the way where are the cook, captain, and renji?" Seiya asked.
"Renji should be on his way back with the Captain by now..." Branch said.
Suddenly someone began walking onto the ship.
"You!" A familiar voice said.
Everyone looked at Yugami and then back at Yamashiro who was pointing at him.
"You left me!... To die!" Yamashiro yelled out.
