I'm here again. The last week's we're very stressful and I had no energy to update. But now I have holidays and can do it. Chapter 6 will be posted next week. For now I wish you all a lot of fun with chapter 5.
Louise POV
With the help of my parents, Erik and of course my own will, I was able to leave the hospital after a week. I made very good progress with my recovery that week. On the Saturday when my parents and Erik came to visit me again, I was able to stand up on my own. When they saw what I was doing, they stopped in the doorway as if rooted to the spot. I grinned at them, feeling overly proud of myself. Erik rushed up to me and kissed me on the lips. He grinned at me and I smiled back. My parents approached my bed with wide eyes.
"You...you can get up," my mom said, totally flabbergasted.
"Yep. I can," I said proudly.
Erik grinned widely. He was used to seeing me get up and walk in his world. But I could see he was still proud of me. After a short while, though, I realized I needed to lie down again. I slowly let myself sink back into the pillows and smiled at my parents.
"I brought you something," my mother said, holding up a bowl.
My eyes grew wide. I could see that it was strawberries. My mother had brought a fork and wanted to put the bowl in my hand. But I blocked, leaned into my pillows and opened my mouth. My mother rolled her eyes, but speared a strawberry and fed it to me. After I swallowed, I opened my mouth again and announced with a sound that I wanted more. Thus, the strawberries were fed to me and I did not have to do anything else but chew. It was wonderful to be pampered.
I noticed how Erik's gaze rested on me. I looked at him and grinned around the strawberry I just had in my mouth. He looked at me with that loving look and a memory came to mind. The first time I had told him that his eyes were beautiful. He looked so surprised by this that he was speechless for several moments.
Then he stammered: "Um... thank you. I've never heard anything like that before."
I smirked slightly.
"Well," I replied, "now you've heard it."
At that, he started smirking slightly. I could tell how much he enjoyed that comment. He had never received such kind words before. So I thought it was all the more important that he got to hear them. After all, he was perfect. Maybe he didn't see himself that way but I saw him that way. In all his imperfection he was perfect. My perfect angel! My Erik!
Erik POV
When I visited Louise with her parents on Saturday, my heart almost stopped in shock when I saw her. She was able to stand up by herself! On Thursday she still looked so miserable. She barely had color in her face and couldn't stand up on her own. But when we got to her today and opened the door to her room, she suddenly slowly peeled herself out of her bed and stood up. I stood in the doorway with her parents, dumbfounded. Of course, in my world I had already seen her get up and walk, but in hers it was something completely different. I couldn't hold on any longer and quickly ran up to her and kissed her effusively. I felt her smile into the kiss and kiss me back. I let go of her again and her parents came up to us. Her mother had huge eyes but a happy smile on her face.
"You...you can stand up," her mom said totally dumbfounded.
"Yep, I can," Louise said with a proud grin on her face.
I couldn't help it and grinned too. After a little while, though, she laid back down and smiled at us.
"I brought you something," her mother said, walking up to her and holding up a bowl.
My angel's eyes lit up. Through the bowl, I could see that they were strawberries. Her mother wanted to give her the bowl and a fork she had brought but Louise refused. I was amazed and to be honest, shocked at this. But she relaxed back into her pillows and opened her mouth. I could just see her mother roll her eyes lovingly before feeding her daughter a strawberry. I just smirked at the relaxed image of my love. She really looked like she was totally fine. You couldn't feel anything about the fact that she had just had a dangerous surgery a few days ago. She was just as full of life as I had known her back in the opera. So I continued to watch her being pampered and decided I had found something I could pamper her with as well. My sweet angel.
As I watched her eat, she closed her eyes. I grinned as I watched her indulge herself. I thought about buying her strawberries later on and feeding them to her too. Apparently she loved them. Suddenly she blushed and turned her head away from me. I noticed myself blushing as well. Around a strawberry, I could see her grinning slightly. She loved to embarrass me slightly even then. Once, when I took off my mask at her request, she told me that she thought I was handsome. At first I didn't want to believe her but then when she grabbed my cheek and kissed me on it, I noticed myself blushing. She leaned back again, saw me blushing and grinned. I smiled at her too and soon her grin gave way to a laugh. I couldn't help it and started laughing too. It was such a nice feeling.
When we got our breath back, we looked at each other.
"You have very beautiful eyes, Erik," Louise suddenly said to me.
"What?", I asked, looking at her.
This statement was so sudden that I didn't know what to say at all.
"You have very beautiful eyes," she said to me again.
I didn't know what to say at all.
"Um... thank you. I've never heard anything like that before," I stammered.
"Here you go," she replied, "now you've heard it."
I smirked slightly. I had never been used to getting positive comments. It was almost a first for me. I watched the way she looked at me. I didn't dare interrupt her train of thought. She was studying me with her eyes, looking at my face for a long time. I felt a little uncomfortable as she stared at my monstrosity but I didn't duck her gaze. I could only guess what her thoughts were but after she looked at my face and smiled at me, I knew they weren't negative thoughts. I would be heartbroken if she found my face disgusting or worse, afraid of it. But this was not the case. She smiled at me and smiled too. It was a load off my mind. She really did not fear me.
I returned from my thoughts and looked at my love. She was still being fed strawberries by her mother and looked like the cat that had just gotten the milk. She saw me looking at her and grinned like a honey pie horse. And I also felt a telltale smile creep onto my lips at the look she gave me. Her presence was really doing wonders for my life. Before it was so lonely and dull but now, since my angel was in my life, I felt like reborn. I hope that this feeling will last forever. But I have no doubts about that. Not since I found my angel. My Louise!
Louise POV
I almost purred with joy when I was fed strawberries. At this warm time of year, it was nice to have a little cooling down. I was also surprised to see Erik wearing only a white t- shirt, instead of his usual white shirt. But it looked very good on him. Moreover, he was wearing simple black jeans and black sneakers. He looked hot as hell! I noticed myself blushing, but blamed it on the strawberries. But apparently Erik noticed it too and his exposed cheek took on a pinkish hue. I grinned to myself. He looked so cute when he blushed. Luckily, my parents didn't notice. When the bowl was empty, I sank into my pillow with pleasure. My parents grinned at me and I grinned back happily as well, my stomach full. Meanwhile, my father stood at the foot of my bed and gave me a foot massage in one of my stuff animals. I don't know either but I had a deep connection to my stuffed animals. Either they were connected to a specific memory or to a place. And with my father's talent for language, because he was very good at disguising his voice, he gave the animals their own personalities.
So while I was receiving my foot massage, I closed my eyes with pleasure. I suddenly felt the music of the night humming softly in my right ear. I opened my eyes and saw Erik standing next to my bed. He grinned at me and gave me a kiss on the lips. My parents smiled as well and my mom stole a kiss from my dad too.
"I love you so much, my angel," Erik whispered lovingly to me.
"I love you too, mon fantome," I lovingly replied as well.
He grinned at me and stole another kiss. Then he looked out my bedroom window.
"You have a very nice view here, ange," he said. I nodded, grinned, and looked at him.
"Oh, yes."
At my reply, he turned and saw that I was looking at him instead of out the window. He blushed and laughed and my parents laughed too when they saw how in love we were. Erik looked at me happily and sat down next to my bed again. Meanwhile, my father was finished with his massage. I moved my toes and let them fall back onto my blanket. While it was so warm, I never actually covered up when I slept. But the end of the story was that my blanket was outside the bed and I had to pick it up them with my operated back.
While my parents, Erik and I were talking about everything, time had already rolled around. It was really amazing how quickly time passes when you were with your loved ones. So my parents and Erik said goodbye to me again. Erik pressed a kiss to my lips, while my parents each gave me one on the cheek. I waved goodbye to them until they left and snuggled back into my pillow.
This had been about 4 weeks now. As the days went by, I was recovering better and better. My parents and Erik supported me as best they could. After a week I had gone home again with my parents. Erik had taken the day off so that he could accompany me. I thought that was so sweet of him. Unfortunately, he had to say goodbye again soon after because he had to go back by train. We promised to talk on the phone every day. He said goodbye to me with a passionate kiss and I gave him the same back. He said goodbye to my parents and then left our apartment to go to the train. I was already starting to miss him. But we would make it work, I had no doubt.
That Friday morning, I woke up full of anticipation. Even though it was really crappy weather outside, pouring rain, I couldn't be in a bad mood. Erik would come this afternoon and stay until Sunday. We had decided that we would have a movie night. My parents wanted some time to themselves and had gone to my aunt's for the weekend. Thus, Erik and I would have the night off. I peeled myself out of my bed and went to the bathroom to take a shower. It was a little slow but I got it done. After I was refreshed and dressed, I went to the kitchen. While I made my sandwiches and washed strawberries, because of course I would eat some as I often do, I talked to my mother on the phone. They had arrived safely and had ordered beautiful greetings. I was happy that they had arrived well. I wished them still a lot of fun, I said goodbye to them and waited for my Erik to finally come to me.
