Potter Manor
The people in Potter Manor were all over the place, Fleamont was beyond busy making lesson plans for Severa. Eumphmia was out buying fabric and thread, and the boys were stuck with Snape for the time being.
Sirius and James were too busy glaring at severa to do anything else. Remus was studying, not focusing on the others, and Euphemia offered up Peter to be Severa's mannequin until she got back with some real ones.
"stop moving or I'll poke you" Her voice was laced with annoyance as Peter shifted from one to another, causing one of the pins to almost stab him.
"Sorry, just a bi-" peters words were cut off by Sirius's angry voice "No, you don't need to apologize to her Peter, she should watch where she's poking" He looked at her enraged by the fact she was even here.
The room got quiet as Severa glared right back at Sirius. "your opinion was not needed nor asked for, black" she spoke calmly but her words were cold.
Sirius shot up and was about to make his way to her but was held back by Remus.
As Remus restrained Sirius, tension crackled in the air like electricity. The atmosphere in Potter Manor grew thicker with each passing moment, the animosity between Severa and Sirius threatening to escalate into something more volatile.
Meanwhile, James watched the exchange with a furrowed brow, torn between his loyalty to his friends and his desire to maintain peace within their group. He knew that Severa's presence stirred up trouble, but he also understood the importance of keeping their composure, especially in front of his parents.
Peter, caught in the middle of it all, tried his best to remain still as Severa Stilled her work. He couldn't help but feel uncomfortable, wishing he could disappear into the floorboards until the storm passed.
Fleamont, preoccupied with his lesson plans, was unaware of the tension brewing in his own household. If he had known, perhaps he would have intervened, but for now, his attention was solely on preparing for Severa's upcoming lessons.
As the seconds ticked by, the standoff between Severa and Sirius remained at a stalemate, neither willing to back down. Remus, the voice of reason amidst the chaos, held onto Sirius, silently urging him to let go of his anger before it consumed him entirely.
In that moment, Potter Manor felt like a powder keg on the brink of explosion, each breath drawn in anticipation of the inevitable clash between two opposing forces. But whether peace would prevail or chaos would reign supreme remained to be seen.
"I advise you to sit back down, Black," her voice was eerily calm. "Imagine what would happen if Mr. or Mrs. Potter were to find out that you attacked me for no reason. You might just get sent back to live with your real family." A small smirk played across her lips as she watched Sirius react, and her eyes shone with amusement.
"Snape! now that was uncalled for!" Remus finally spoke up, ready to put an end to this tension.
Severa's words hung in the air like a heavy fog, casting a shadow over the room as everyone tensed, bracing for what might come next. Sirius seethed with anger, his fists clenched as he struggled against Remus's firm grip.
"Let me go, Remus," Sirius growled through gritted teeth, his eyes blazing with fury directed at Severa. "She's just trying to provoke me."
But Remus held fast, his expression one of determined calm. "And you're letting her," he said evenly, his voice a soothing balm amidst the storm. "Don't give her the satisfaction, Sirius. You're better than this."
Severa's smirk widened at Sirius's futile attempts to break free, relishing in the power she held over him in this moment. But beneath her façade of confidence, there was a flicker of uncertainty, a hint of vulnerability that betrayed her stoic exterior.
The tension in the room was palpable now, each heartbeat echoing like a drumroll heralding the imminent clash. James, sensing the gravity of the situation, stepped forward, his voice firm as he addressed Severa. "Enough, Snape," he said, his tone brooking no argument. "We're all under enough stress as it is. Let's not make it worse."
Severa's gaze flickered between James and Sirius, weighing her options as the silence stretched taut. Finally, with a resigned sigh, she released Sirius from her icy stare and turned back to Peter to continue her work, the tension in the room dissipating like a gust of wind.
For now, peace had prevailed, but the echoes of this confrontation would linger in the halls of Potter Manor long after the storm had passed.
As everyone was gathered around the table for dinner, the tension was still in the air waiting to make itself known. Eumphmia was the first to break the silence "So, what did y'all get up to while I was out?"
None of the boys nor Severa answered her question, all focusing their eyes on something else in the room that wasn't Eumphmia, leaving Fleamont to answer.
"I was in my study working on Severa's lesson plans for the summer, how was your shopping honey?" As fleamont and Eumphmia Talked, the others waited for the food to arrive.
The pop of the house elves drew the attention of everyone as their food arrived and dinner began. Not one word was uttered as they ate, until Eumphima broke the silence, again. "From now on, there will be new rules in this house." her voice was strong but carried slight uncertainty. The declaration hung in the air, heavy with implications as the others turned their attention towards Euphemia, curiosity mingled with apprehension in their eyes.
Remus raised an eyebrow, intrigued by the sudden shift in dynamics. "New rules?" he echoed, his voice tinged with skepticism. "And what might those be?"
Euphemia cleared her throat, gathering her resolve as she met Remus's gaze head-on. "For starters," she began, her voice steady despite the uncertainty lingering beneath the surface, "there will be no more unnecessary conflicts within these walls. We're all under enough pressure as it is without adding more tension to the mix."
Remus and Peter exchanged glances, a silent agreement passing between them as they nodded in understanding. Sirius, who had been particularly volatile in recent days, seemed to take Euphemia's words to heart, his expression Harding with anger at the comment being directed at him.
"And secondly," Euphemia continued, her voice gaining strength with each word, "we need to respect each other's boundaries and differences. We may not always see eye to eye, but that doesn't mean we can't coexist peacefully."
There was a moment of solemn silence as Euphemia's words sank in, the weight of her expectations settling over the table like a heavy blanket. But amidst the tension, there was also a glimmer of hope. However, that hope was short-lived as voices began to rise, shattering the fragile peace.
"What?! Why did everything change after she arrived? Why can't things just stay the same?" James's voice reverberated with anger, his features contorted with fury. "Yeah! I mean, why can't she leave and we go back to our old rules? This is absolutely insane!" Sirius chimed in, his frustration mirroring James's.
As soon as Sirius finished his sentence, both Euphemia and Fleamont's voices rose in unison, a mixture of frustration and disappointment evident in their tones as they tried to quell the escalating conflict.
"BOYS!" Fleamont's furious voice cut through the room like a knife. "I don't give a damn how you feel. The despicable act you committed against Severa is worse than what Death Eaters do to innocent Muggles. Do you even have any idea how it feels to know that my son and his friends, whom I treat like my own, are capable of such heinous deeds?"
His words left only silence as everyone stared, shocked by his impassioned outburst. The weight of his disappointment hung heavy in the air, casting a pall over the room as the gravity of his words sank in.
Severa, though visibly taken aback by Fleamont's condemnation, remained composed, her expression unreadable as she processed the implications of his accusation. She had known that her presence would stir up conflict within the household, but she hadn't anticipated the depth of resentment and betrayal that now simmered beneath the surface just yet.
James and Sirius, on the other hand, recoiled at Fleamont's words, their expressions a mixture of shame and anger. Deep down they knew they had acted impulsively, driven by their emotions and frustrations, without considering the consequences of their actions, but with egos too big, there was no space for 'an apology'.
Remus, ever the voice of reason, stepped forward, his gaze somber as he addressed his friends. "Mr. Potter is right," he said, his tone heavy with regret. "We let our emotions get the better of us, and we owe Severa an apology for our behavior." The room remained silent, the tension thick with unspoken apologies and unshed tears.
The sound of a chair scraping against the floor broke the silence and the tension. "No, I'm not giving no damn apology to that fucking Bitch! She's nothing but an ugly, dumb slimy snake, why don't you just fucking leave and go back to where you came from, you whore!" as soon as the words left his mouth, James stormed out, followed by Sirius.
The two boys left, leaving shocked faces and tears in their wake.
It seems as if the great Potter Manor would not last the week...
