One must always watch their step during a Galar winter, for no matter how clear the path looks, it is all too easy to slip on the legacy of Mr. Rime. These comedian pokemon are masters of slapstick, for whom the banana peel gag is the height of humor – but consider it far too easily avoided or predicted. Mr. Rime take the old adage that "comedy is tragedy plus distance" seriously; if their hapless victim is concussed, they find it all the funnier.

Yet Mr. Rime's pranks do not only cause pain. They are known to bar rooftops and the windows of skyscrapers with ice, for trying to jump and failing is much funnier than a suicide. In the arctic, they use their invisible barriers to cover holes in the ice, much to the chagrin of Seel – and of hunters. Although they are after the physical comedy of a Seel failing to surface, at times the false hole saves the Seel from harpooning, and Mr. Rime's technique allows a small pocket of oxygen to seep in. Old legends place the world in an ice wall, and Mr. Rime separating the Earth from the cosmos – but they are mere legends, and it is Rayquaza who merits that title if anyone does.

Humans have long seen potential in Mr. Rime and attempted to turn it to practical use, but with little success. Attempts to use Mr. Rime to make ice rinks founder on skaters' reluctance to use their creations, for they only see ponds. Ice domes would allow grass pokemon to grow indoors year-round, except they leave the space therein as cold as any outdoor winter. At least their trainers can take solace in the walls they build to protect their teammates – but that ability is far from unique to Mr. Rime!
