Suffering with a double ear and sinus infection of my own, I wanted to write about my favs being cute.

Mitsuru sighed as she flopped onto her bed, half dressed and exhausted. It was 7am, yet she was so tired. She seriously debated not going to school. Her head, ears and body all hurt terribly. She seemed to be trembling and cold, it was clear she had a fever. She would do nearly everything to spend the rest of the day in bed, but as student council president and valedictorian, she didn't dare miss school. Suddenly, as she fights the will to fall asleep, she hears a knock at the door.

"Kirijo-senpai, it's me. Are you okay?"said the voice on the other side.

"Fuck… it's Yukari… I don't want her to see me like this.." Mitsuru muttered under her breath. For quite some time now, Mitsuru had a sort of secret crush on Yukari. Though as a prominent member of the Kirijo group, she felt she could never give in to her lesbian fantasies.

"Coming Takeba" Mitsuru called out, she winced as she stood up. Her voice sounded stuffy and muffled due to her ears. Her ears especially ached, she rubbed them trying to quell the pain. She opened the door and there stood Yukari.

"Senpai? You don't look so good." Yukari worriedly said to Mitsuru. It was true, Mitsuru's face had turned pale, she had flushed cheeks and she had dark circles under her eyes.

"I'm alright, Takeba. What's up?" She replied, trying to keep her composure. She leaned against the door for support, as her body seemed to want to give out.

"Well, I was wondering if you wanted to walk to school together." Yukari mused, following up with "But you look rather unwell. Maybe you should take the day off to rest."

"I'm fine, Takeba. You don't need to worry about me." Mitsuru glared at the very thought of missing school.

"Senpai… you're barely dressed and it's 7am, it's just not like you" Yukari clearly concerned over her senpai's wellbeing. Mitsuru's angry face turned sad, as she leaned against the door. Before she had time to respond, Yukari touched her forehead.

"Senpai, you're burning up! Let's get you back into bed." Yukari exclaimed, ushering Mitsuru back into her room.

"Takeba, wait.. this is truly unnecessary, as student council president I-" sighed Mitsuru

"I don't care. I'm going to stay here and take care of you." Yukari cut off Mitsuru before she could finish her statement. Mitsuru breathed annoyed once more, she simply did not have the energy to fight back. She laid back into bed, her bow wasn't tired nor was her shirt fully buttoned. She appeared disheveled and uncomfortable. Yukari looked her senpai up and down, noticing how unkempt she looked. Worry spread across her face. She pulled up a chair next to the bed, so she could sit while Mitsuru rested.

"Takeba, I'm not sure this is a good idea…" Mitsuru winced, grabbing her ears as the pain seemed to worsen.

"If I don't take care of you, I know you won't stay in bed and rest. You can't get better if you don't rest, senpai" Yukari explained. Mitsuru knew she was right, but it didn't stop her from wanting to get out of bed and head to school. She could barely hear out of her one ear, she continued to shake her head in frustration, though she lacked the energy to argue. Against her will, the powerful urge to fall asleep came over, her body felt relaxed as she slowly drifted off into sleep… Perhaps she could go in late if she felt better when she awoke.

"She's so pretty…" Yukari whispered, she could feel her face warm up. She stared at Mitsuru's body, slender yet well proportioned. Yukari sighed sadly, though she had always been rough to Mitsuru, she couldn't help but have a massive lesbian crush on the woman. I mean, Mitsuru was all the things Yukari wished to be— beautiful, smart, powerful… Those qualities in a partner would be absolutely marvelous. Yes, Yukari very much wished for Mitsuru to be her girlfriend, though her own nature would never allow it. Mitsuru stirred in her sleep, Yukari felt the older girl's forehead, it still felt very warm. Yukari then walked out of the room to retrieve a thermometer, her cell phone and some medicine from another room.

Mitsuru woke up from her nap while Yukari was away. She realized she was alone in her room, she quickly sat up and stealthily dropped to the floor. No one could stop her from going to school today! Especially now that Yukari was gone. She walked towards the door, trying not to make any noise. Her head felt tight, and her ears ached. She wanted to let out a groan, but she knew that would give away her position. She carefully opened the door and slipped out into the hallway. It quickly occurred to Mitsuru that her energy levels were severely low, suddenly falling to the ground.

"Kirijo-senpai?" Yukari walked up to Mitsuru's body that was now on the ground. She attempted to sit up the best she could, but the ear pressure made her feel dizzy.

"What are you doing out of bed? I left to bring you some medicine." Mitsuru groaned in response. Yukari knelt down, putting down the items she brought back in the process "Here, let me help you up."

"Takeba… I don't need your help." Mitsuru spluttered, holding her ear in her hand. She continued to try and get up, Yukari simply shook her head and grabbed the girl by her waist. Mitsuru gasped in disbelief at this act. Yukari blushed a bit at Mitsuru's reaction.

"D-Don't make this weirder than it needs to be, Senpai. You clearly need some help, there's no shame in that." Mitsuru nodded in defeat, as Yukari lifted her back to her feet. She put Mitsuru's arm around her shoulder for support. She brought Mitsuru back into her room, letting her lay back on her bed.

"Don't go rushing out of bed without me coming with you. You could've gotten seriously injured. We can't explore Tartarus without you." Yukari said in a comforting voice, she put a wet towel on Mitsuru's forehead to bring down her fever.

"I… I don't want to let you all down…" Mitsuru sighed, her need for control was admirable, also the crux of her personality, but it led her to some rather dire situations.

"You could never let us down, Mitsuru," Yukari gasped realizing she had just referred to Mitsuru by her first name instead of "Kirijo-Senpai" or simply "Senpai". Mitsuru smiled at Yukari's choice of words, which comforted the younger girl. It was clear that Mitsuru was not only unoffended but also happy to hear her call her by her name. Yukari then handed Mitsuru the thermometer, she put it in her mouth. The two waited in uncomfortable silence.

Yukari pulled the thermometer from her mouth "39…" she said sadly. Mitsuru was also unhappy to hear such a high number.

"Maybe we should take you to the doctor." Yukari suggested, Mitsuru seemed uncomfortable with this. But she knew that a doctor may be able to help her feel better from her illness. She suddenly felt a large amount of pain radiating from her ear and groaned. Yukari touched Mitsuru's ear, attempting to soothe the pain.

"Maybe you should go back to bed, Mitsuru.. It seems like you're in a lot of pain. I'll try to get in contact with a doctor." Mitsuru yawned in response, and seemed to doze off into sleep. Yukari pulled out her flip phone to message the others. It seemed Junepi had already sent her texts asking where she was. She opened the messages:

Stupei Iori: Yuka-tan! Where are you?

Stupei Iori: Yuka-tannnnn, Toriumi is gonna rip you a new one if you don't march your ass over here

Stupei Iori: Seriously tho, where are you?

Yukari sighed at the multiple texts from her long time friend, Junpei Iori. She responded:

Yukari Takeba: Hey, sorry I won't be in school today. Kirijo senpai isn't feeling well. So, I'm taking care of her.

As soon as she sent that message, instant regret fell over her face. There was no humanly possible way to stop Junpei from telling everyone in Gekkoukan that Miss Student Council President was under the weather. She slapped herself in the face.

"I'm so fucking stupid…" she muttered, texts began to roll into her phone at a quick speed. She tried to open the important ones first.

Akihiko Sanada: Takeba, is Mitsuru alright? Iori just said she came down with the Bubonic plague…

Yukari cussed under her breath once more, leave it to Junpei to make a simple ear infection turn into the bird flu or the black death..

Yukari Takeba: Sorry for not telling you earlier, Senpai. As per usual, Junpei is overreacting. I think she has an ear infection. Do you think you could get her a doctor's appointment when school is finished?

Akihiko Sanada: Yeah, definitely. I'll see if someone can come to the dorm. Keep an eye on her, and take her to the hospital if her temperature goes over 40.

Yukari Takeba: Alright…

She then opened the next series of messages.

Aigis: Yukari-san, is it true that Mitsuru-san is 'under the weather' as they say? I do not quite comprehend why she is underneath a storm, but please make sure she gets to safety.

Yukari Takeba: Will do. Thanks Aigis.

Yukari then realized that Mitsuru had not eaten all day, so she went down to the kitchen to make some soup. As soon as she got downstairs, she saw Shinjiro holding a tray with a big bowl of soup on it, Koromaru trailing right behind.

"Aragaki-senpai, I take it you've heard too?" He locked eyes with Yukari as she spoke, handing her the tray.

"Heard what?" He responded monotonously. Yukari exhaled in relief, at least Junpei's loud mouth about Mitsuru having the bubonic plague did not reach Shinjiro nor Koromaru.

"I never saw her come downstairs today, she almost never misses school. I figured she must've been real sick if she didn't raise holy hell to go." Shinjiro explained, it seems this wasn't the first time he had seen Mitsuru in this sort of situation.

"Yeah… I've been having to force her to stay in bed.. It's quite the chore."

"Speak of the devil…" Shinjiro pawned the bowl of soup to Yukari and ran up the stairs, there was Mitsuru trembling as she attempted to descend the staircase.

"You know, for someone so smart, you're really stupid Mitsuru." Shinjiro said to the sick woman, he held onto her to keep her from falling. Mitsuru wanted to argue against Shinjiro, but she knew he was right. Getting out of bed was a mistake. She groaned in response as she let her body weight fall onto Shinjiro.

"Come on, Takeba. Let's take her back to her room." Yukari nodded in agreement. Shinjiro was carrying Mitsuru like a baby, she looked annoyed.

"I-I told you.. I don't need help…" She groaned.

"Just shut up and accept help when it's given to you." Shinjiro barked back at her. He then placed her on her bed, Yukari sat in the chair with the tray on her lap. Mitsuru was hardly awake, yet still trying to go to school.

"You're only a nuisance in this state. Just rest and then you'll be helpful again." he said coldly. Koromaru made a little crying noise in response to the entire exchange. Shinjiro was not the nicest person on the planet, but he seemed to always know what to say. He left Yukari alone with Mitsuru, Koromaru followed him out.

"Senpai made you some soup, if you'd like to have some." Yukari explained to Mitsuru, who was sprawled out on the bed. Mitsuru shook her head and rolled over on her side, the entire endeavor wiped her body of energy. Yukari checked Mitsuru's temperature again, it was 39.5 now. She grimaced at how high the number had gotten. She opened her phone to text Akihiko.

Yukari Takeba: Senpai, her fever is 39.5 and I'm worried. Do you know when the doctor will be here? Should I take her to the hospital?

Akihiko Sanada: I'm heading out of the building now, I already called someone from the hospital who should be heading your way now. Just keep her in bed if you can.

Yukari Takeba: Easier said than done.

Akihiko Sanada: :/

"Yukari" Mitsuru spoke with her breath shaking.

"Are you alright, Mitsuru-senpai?" Mitsuru looked away, her face began to turn a little more pink on her cheeks.

"I-I need to confess something to you, Yukari."

"Oh? W-What do you mean senpai?"

"I… I love you." Mitsuru said she averted her gaze from Yukari's eyes, to avoid the embarrassment. "I've always loved you, and you spent all day today taking care of me… I love you, Yukari."

Yukari was at a loss for words, she began to blush. She then realized Mitsuru's high fever may be clouding her judgment, but she so hoped Mitsuru returned her feelings. Her mouth went dry, Mitsuru waited for a response with anxiety.

"I understand if you don't like me back… I just am so thankful for you." She reached her hand out to Yukari's hand. It was very warm, reiterating that her fever may be affecting her response.

"Mitsuru… I-I'm so happy to hear this. But, are you sure it isn't just your fever?" Mitsuru shook her head.

"I've felt this way for a long time.." Yukari smiled at Mitsuru's confession of love.

"I feel the same way, Mitsuru."

"W-What?"

"I feel the same way." Mitsuru was shocked to hear Yukari returned her feelings, a warm happy feeling overcame her body.

"I'm so happy to hear that Yukari. I would kiss you if I wasn't so sick right now." Mitsuru laughed. Yukari felt relief, to see Mitsuru laughing despite her high fever– she knew Mitsuru would recover.

"So are we…" Yukari trailed on, waiting for Mitsuru to finish her sentence.

"Dating?"

"Y-yeah, something like that."

"I hope so." Yukari smiled at Mitsuru's response. She kissed Mitsuru on the cheek. Yukari suddenly felt her phone vibrate, breaking the tender moment between herself and her girlfriend. It was from Shinjiro:

Shinjiro Aragaki: There's a doctor down here to see Mitsuru. I'm sending him up there.

"The doctor is here, Mitsuru." She sighed in relief, preemptively opening the door for the doctor. About thirty seconds passed, and the doctor was outside of the door. It seemed to be a young woman, perhaps she was still in school… Yukari paid it no mind, and ushered the doctor into the bedroom. The doctor walked up to Mitsuru's bedside.

"I presume you are Kirijo-san?" asked the doctor, she nodded yes in agreement. The doctor looked her up and down, she looked like she felt terrible. Yukari sat by her bedside in anxiety. The doctor examined Mitsuru, looking in her ears, throat and nose…

"What is it, doctor? Am I dying?" Mitsuru said, thinking she had a foot in the grave. The doctor smiled and laughed lightly.

"No, no. You just have a pretty bad ear and sinus infection. Luckily there is medicine to treat these conditions. You'll be feeling better by tomorrow."

Mitsuru sighed in relief, Yukari smiled as she looked at the beautiful woman sitting in bed. Even in her sick state, she managed to be beautiful. That was HER girlfriend, Yukari felt like she was the luckiest woman in the world.

The following morning, Mitsuru woke up with her head feeling much clearer. The antibiotics seemed to have helped immensely. Another familiar knock at the door, this time Mitsuru was dressed.

"Senpai?"

"Coming, Yukari!" She called out, her voice sounding much clearer, not nearly as congested as before. She opened the door to see her girlfriend.

"Want to walk to school together?" Yukari asked, smiling. Mitsuru blushed slightly, Yukari realized that she wanted to display intimacy. They began to kiss.

"Glad to see you're feeling better." Yukari laughed, she stroked Mitsuru's beautiful face.

"I am. Thanks to you, Yukari."

"I think the antibiotics helped a little more." It seems Yukari did not understand the assignment.
