TWIST OF FATE
It's been four years since Sakura and Sasuke started dating.
It was senior year of highschool, they've been friends for years. Somewhere along the line, feelings emerged. For months Sakura pined after him, and after long talks with her closest friends, Naruto, Ino and Hinata, she decided it's enough.
From: Sakura
To: Sasuke
Hi Sasuke, can you meet me this afternoon in the park, where we always hang out with everyone?
From: Sasuke
To: Sakura
Sure. What time?
From: Sakura
To: Sasuke
Is 4 okay?
From: Sasuke
To: Sakura
Yeah.
From: Sakura
To: Sasuke
Great! See you then!

To: Sakura
See you.
Sakura got there 10 minutes earlier, excited and nervous at the same time.
'I just hope it all goes well.' She sighs.
Phone makes three beeps. Opening the phone, 3 messages await her.
From: Naruto
To: Sakura
I hope it all goes well!
You can do it, Sakura! w
Btw if he does anything tell me I'll kick his ass :)

Sakura, fingers crossed! I'm rooting for you!

She can't help but smile at the messages she got. 'Those guys..'
"Sakura, hi."
Sudden voice makes her jump in surprise, her phone dropps on the floor.
"Oh, Sasuke, it's you. Hi." She chuckles. Heart is racing fast, butterflies in the stomach are partying big time.
"Sorry I startled you." He picked up her phone and gave it to her as he sat down next to her.
"No, it's okay. I was just…lost in the thoughts that's all."
"So, what was it you wanted to talk about?" He asked.
'Here we go!' She takes a deep breath in, gathering up all the courage she has.
"Sasuke, I like you!" She says fast, shuts her eyes and curls her fingers into fists.
Sudden sensation of Sasuke's hand makes her open her eyes, and the sight of him looking at her with a sweet smile melts her heart.
"I like you too." Is all he says.
From then on they went on countless dates, had many conversations about plans and future, said first and many I love yous, and had been together intimately. As any other couple, they had their fair share of fights.
Now, four years into their dating, at age of 22 there she was at the doctors office, waiting to hear what she has to say, after doing a blood test, to which her friends had to make her go to.
"So doctor, what is it?" She asks nervously, feeling her hands getting sweaty, her head a little dizzy. 'I wish Sasuke were here.' She thinks of her boyfriend, who could not be here at the moment because he went to visit his brother abroad.
"Miss Sakura, congratulations. You're pregnant."
After hearing those words everything was a blur.
Naruto, who took her to the doctor's office, walked with her home. She didn't say a word since she came out of the office and he was getting worried.
"Sakura, is something wrong?" He asks, putting an arm on her shoulder. They both stop and she looks back at him, eyes watery and red.
"Naruto, I'm pregnant." She whispers, loud enough for him to hear.
He pulls her into a hug and says nothing. She lets it all out and cries everything out.
After a silent walk to Sakura and Sasuke's apartment, she decides to call Hinata and Ino over too. The four friends share a meal, during which Sakura tells them about her pregnancy and about a conversation she had with Sasuke in which he stated he never wanted kids.
"So, what are you gonna do now?" Hinata asks.
"He's coming back tomorrow. I'm gonna tell him as soon as possible. He has to know."
"But, are you ready for what's coming? You said he doesn't want kids…" Ino adds, gently patting Sakura on her hand.
"I know. We'll probably end things." Sakura sighs. "I love him, but.." With her hand on her belly she smiles and says, "I decided to keep this baby."
"We love you and we'll be here for you and the baby, you know that Sakura right?" Ino hugs her tight. "Congrats my girl!"
"Yeah, if you need anything, call. Congratulations!" Hinata adds, hugging her too.
"Sakura, I'm here for you if you need me. You're one of my best friends and I would do anything for you." Naruto smiles, taking her hands in his.
"I know, Naruto, thank you." She replies, getting welled up. "I love you guys!" She squeaks, inviting them all for one big group hug.
The day has come.
The day everything changes.
Sasuke texted her his plane had arrived and he's on his way to their place.
The more time passes the more anxious she gets.
Key clicks, doors fly open, she breathes in heavily. This is it.
She walks over to him and gives him a kiss, wondering is it worth it? It's gonna be all over soon.
After he unpacks they sit down on the couch, visibly both of them nervous wrecks.
"I have some news.."
"I have some news.."
They laugh together after saying the exact same thing.
"You go first." He says.
Sakura smiles, trying not to get too worked up about it. Whatever happens, happens. It's fine.
"Sasuke," She starts, gently taking his hand, looking him in the eyes. "You remember last year, when we talked about the future, and kids.."
He nods, million thoughts going through his mind at the moment.
She continues "And you said you don't want kids, you never have.."
"Yes, I remember. But what.."
"I'm pregnant Sasuke." Her eyes start to fill with tears but she's not sad, no. She's overwhelmed and anxious.
He takes a deep breath in and is about to say something, but she cuts him off.
"Please let me finish.." Her voice cracks, tears fall completely.
He moves closer to her, embracing her. "It's okay, take your time." Her head falls on his shoulders, he begins to stroke her hair.
She takes a deep breath, lifting her head up "I can do this."
"I know how you feel about kids, and you'll never change your mind, because that's who you are and that's okay. I think we both know we have to end this. You have your dreams and I have mine." She smiles through tears, making him tear up too.
"I think we do, yeah." He says. "I got an internship abroad at the place my brother works at. I get to learn there and I can finish college there."
"Congratulations, Sasuke! I'm so happy for you!" She hugs him.
"Thank you." A smile creeps up. "Congratulations to you too." He adds.
The two stay like that, hugging, for a few minutes in silence.
"So, what are your plans? With the baby and college?" Sasuke breaks the silence.
"I'll have the baby and finish college. My parents and Naruto, Ino and Hinata will help as much as they can." She replies confidently with a smile on her face, which makes Sasuke mirror her.
"Sounds like a good plan." He says. "I'm really happy for you. And I wish you all the happiness. To you and the little one." He gently touches her still flat belly.
"Thank you, Sasuke. And we wish you the same."
After a long conversation they ate together after which he went to pack his stuff.
"Visit us sometime, yeah?" Sakura says.
"Of Course. Say bye to the others for me?"
"Will do. Can't promise Naruto won't come after you and kick you." She adds and the both laugh, knowing it's true.
"Goodbye, Sakura." He kisses her on the forehead.
"Goodbye, Sasuke." She smiles, letting a single tear fall from her eye.
He left.
"This is it. New beginning awaits us, little one."
