Hosu City - Morning - Somewhere

It was business as usual in Hosu City. The streets were full of cars while people walked on the sidewalks. Many of these citizens were on their way to their jobs. Some were out walking for their health. Among the crowd of people was a young boy walking down the sidewalk alone. He wasn't scared, however, as he knew his way around the busy streets. He walked down the street with confidence, keeping a proud and determined smile on his lips. Strangers walking past him on the street would look at him and then look at him again once they realized what he was wearing. They stared and raised their eyebrows and smirked in amusement before carrying on with their day. The young boy was fully aware of the stares he'd get from people and ignored them. He couldn't blame them, though. What he was wearing was simply his best work yet.

He was wearing a white shirt, black pants, dark blue shoes, and a backpack. But that wasn't what got people's attention. What he was wearing above his normal clothes was what got their attention. Above his shirt was an armored chestplate painted dark blue with streaks of yellow on the edges and the sides. It was made out of the finest cardboard available. Painted on the center of that blue chestplate was an emblem. A lightning bolt placed above a gear with electric sparks shooting out of the gear. A symbol he had come up with himself. On his head was a dark blue bicycle helmet that covered the boy's short golden hair. Lightning bolts were also painted onto it, matching his chestplate. Flapping in the wind was his blue cape that had some sparkle to it. The emblem on his chestplate was also painted into the middle of his blue cape. To finish off his costume was the white gloves he wore on his hands, completing the look.

The young boy was very proud of his costume. He wore it everyday whenever he had the chance. It made him feel better, happier, stronger. Because he knew exactly who he wanted to be when he grew up. A hero. He clenched his fists and started running when he saw his destination, charging towards it with excitement.

"So close." The boy thought, feeling the breeze on his skin. His hero costume bounced in the air as he ran, but he didn't bother slowing down. He trusted the durability of his costume and continued to smile. His cape flapped in the wind, making him look extra heroic as he reached his destination. The bus stop.

"And there!" He exclaimed, jumping forward and landing loudly on the sidewalk. He stood there and stared at the street across from him and panted, feeling his heart race. He had a big smile on his face as his eyes darted left and right, staring at the busy road. There was cars to his left and right, but no sign of the bus. He stood there for a minute catching his breath, glancing down at his watch and checking the time repeatedly. He didn't have to worry about being late. The bus would arrive in 2 minutes which meant he was early. That was a good thing. It meant that there was no way he'd be missing it.

He stood still and waited for the two minutes to pass, feeling his stamina return to him. He kept his hands clenched the entire time and listened to the sounds the cars made while driving by. His ears were focused on hearing the sound of the bus. After two minutes had past, the boy looked to his left and felt his eyes sparkle at the sight of the bus.

"Right on time." He smiled, jumping up and down on the sidewalk. Inside the bus, the driver of the vehicle looked at the sidewalk ahead and immediately had his sights on the boy. He recognized him instantly and couldn't hold back his smirk, pulling over towards the bus stop. He slowed the bus down and came to a stop, switching gears and letting out a hissing sound. When the bus was parked, the boy was already standing in front of the door. The boy looked through the windows on the door and made eye contact with the amused driver, the silence didn't stop them from understanding each other.

Shaking his head, the driver reached for a lever near his seat and pulled it. The door opened up inwards, letting the breeze into the vehicle. The boy smiled brighter at the bus driver and waved at him. The driver twisted his body around and leaned his elbow on the steering wheel, greeting the young boy with a smile.

"Back again, Hero?" The driver said in a low, old and gentle voice. He was playing along with the boy's antics and received a massive grin from the boy.

"Uh huh!" The boy exclaimed, clenching his gloved fists.

"Well hop on in!" The driver ordered, waving his hand upwards. The boy nodded and looked down at his pants. He stuck his hand in his pocket and pulled out a small wallet. He kept the wallet in his hand and checked on his gloves, making sure they weren't loose. After checking, he complied with the driver's orders and stepped onto the bus.

Immediately stepping into the bus, the first thing he heard were whispers and awes from the older folks on the bus. He glanced at the seats and saw they were mostly occupied with families, gushing at the sight of his hero costume.

"Hehehe." The boy snickered, feeling intense pride for his costume. The approval of the passengers made him feel like a hero already. He glanced back at the driver and looked to the right at the machinery. He already knew what to do and opened his wallet up, pulling out a bus pass. He held the pass in his right hand and swiped it through a card reader, waiting for the light to turn green.

"Any new additions?" The driver asked, making quick conversation. The young boy understood what he meant and shook his head with a polite smile.

"Not today." He replied, smiling firmly.

"Oh, alright." The driver said, pretending to sound disappointed. The machine scanned the young boy's card and found his pass on its registry, turning green and letting out a beeping sound in approval. The young boy nodded in satisfaction at the sound of the beep and quickly put his card away, tucking his wallet back into his pocket.

"There you go. Go on and find a seat. I'm gonna start moving soon." The driver warned, nodding at the boy.

"Thank you." The boy said, being courteous. He turned towards the row of seats and stared at the people in them. He kept his brave look and scanned the seats for an empty one, eventually seeing an empty seat in the far back of the bus. Standing firm, he huffed and made his approach. Walking past the occupied seats as they turned and looked at him. The driver watched the boy through his mirror and noticed the amused stares from his passengers. They were all looking at the boy's blue cape. The driver smirked at its features. The painted logo on the back as well as the way it sparkled helped him stand out more. He remembered when he didn't have the cape and when he showed it off the first time. He shrugged and brushed aside the fond memory, focusing back on his job. He glanced down at the machinery in front of him and pulled out a microphone. He pressed a button on the front and activated the intercom, speaking into it.

"Attention. Attention. Good morning, Passengers. The bus has made its final stop, we will now be heading towards our destination uninterrupted." The bus driver stated, receiving some appreciative claps from the families.

"Alright!" One of the younger kids hollered enthusiastically, making the driver smirk. The joy was always the best part of his job.

"In the meantime, enjoy the beautiful weather and take a look at the many landmarks we'll be driving past on the way there. Now, sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride." The bus driver said, turning off the intercom. Looking down at the floorboard, he pulled the lever and made a loud crank. The bus let out a hiss as the doors began to close. Watching them close, the driver pulled another lever and changed gears, switching out of parking. He adjusted his shirt in the mirror and prepared to move. All that was left was for the aspiring hero-child to find a seat so they could get moving.

The young boy made his way down the aisle and ignored the other passengers, keeping his eyes on the empty seat in his vision. Getting closer and closer to the seat, he reached it in seconds and immediately sat down without looking, staring back up at the front and waving. The bus driver saw the boy's hand waving in the back and nodded, stepping on the gas pedal.

"Let's get right to it." The driver muttered to himself, exiting the bus stop and getting onto the road. The boy felt the bus begin to move as well as the passengers and sighed, leaning into his seat. He scooted backwards into the seat, lifting his cape up a bit so he wasn't sitting on it. After making sure his costume was safe, he scooted all the way into his seat and pulled his legs in. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath, relaxing into the seat. Almost instantly, he heard shuffling to his left, surprising him. He opened his eyes and stared straight down, noticing legs on his left. His eyes widened at them and froze a bit. He didn't notice someone was sitting by the window seat. He looked to the left of his peripheral vision and saw the person was mostly obscured by their black luggage, making it hard to see what they were wearing. He shifted his eyes a bit and focused, noticing the school uniform she had on. He couldn't tell what school the uniform belonged to. As he looked at the person more, the boy noticed her skirt. It was a girl. A teenage girl. As quickly as that realization came, so did her voice.

"Hi." The girl said, catching the boy's attention. He flinched a little and squinted his eyes, feeling like he was caught doing something bad. He squirmed in his seat and felt his eyes slowly travel upwards, making eye contact with the girl. The first thing he noticed about the girl was her green eyes and long green hair. The second thing he noticed was her left hand poking out above her luggage and waving at him. He didn't know what to do and froze, staring at her waving hand like it was a clock.

"Are you okay?" She asked, snapping him out of it. The boy looked at her and blinked several times, looking like he'd seen a ghost. She put her hand down and gripped her luggage, holding it in place. He didn't budge for a couple seconds before he found the power to reply.

"Uhm, yeah…" He stuttered, trying to compose himself. The girl smiled at his stuttering, taking no offense to it. In fact, she was used to it more than he realized.

"You look like you spaced out. My brother does that a lot." She related, lightening the mood a little. The boy looked at her happy mood and squirmed, lowering his eyes a little. He focused on his hero costume and started rubbing his gloved hands together.

"Sorry." He apologized, avoiding eye contact with the girl. She heard his apology and froze, raising an eyebrow at him in confusion.

"What are you apologizing for?" She asked, making the boy confused. He slowly turned his head and glanced at the girl, revealing his small frown.

"I didn't know you were sitting here." He clarified, scooting towards the edge of his seat away from her. He leaned over to the right till his head was sticking out in the aisle. He looked over at the front of the bus and noticed the light-up sign was on.

Please Remain Seated

The boy read the warning sign and sighed, scooting back into his seat. He didn't have a choice now. As a future hero, he respected the rules of the bus. He looked back at the green haired girl and was caught off guard by her welcoming smile.

"That's fine. You don't have to apologize for that. I don't mind." She said, with a polite smile. The boy looked at her with surprise and confusion. Normally, he'd ask first before sharing a seat, but he truly didn't notice her.

"You don't?" The boy asked, surprised by the response. The boy found that difficult to believe based on how tightly she was holding her luggage against her body.

"But…your luggage." He pointed out.

"Oh, this thing?" Ami asked, glancing at her luggage. She hugged it with all of her strength and looked back at the boy with a smile, "It's nothing. I've held way heavier things than this." She assured, flexing her muscles. The boy was a little unsure but her confidence did make him feel better.

He relaxed back into his seat and continued to stare at her. Her presence was still making him a little nervous. This was the longest he's ever talked to a girl that wasn't his mom or a superhero.

At least he was sure she wasn't a superhero. She was a teenager. Probably five or six years older than him. She looked awfully familiar though. That feeling in his head didn't disappear no matter what he did. Who is she?

"Nice costume by the way." She complimented him, making him snap out of his train of thought. His brain took a second to process the compliment, feeling his face turn red.

"What?" He questioned, raising his eyebrows upward.

"Your costume. It looks great. Did you make it?" She asked, innocently. The boy looked at her again in silence for a few seconds. What costume? He looked down at what he was wearing and felt his eyes get wider.

"My costume? That's right, my hero costume!" The boy thought, feeling the redness in his face dissipate. He forgot he was wearing one. He looked back up at her and nodded, feeling his confidence increase and his shyness drop.

"Uh huh." He smiled, making the girl appear happier. She felt happy to have broken his shell.

"Wow. That's really impressive." She said, smiling widely at him. She clapped her hands against her own luggage in congratulations, making the boy feel better. He nodded faster and let his body relax, feeling his stress vanish.

"I know. It took forever to make." The boy said, adjusting his chestplate. The girl looked at the chestplate and saw the little emblem in the center. She was amazed by his craftsmanship. Looking at it made her wish she had done something like that with her brother.

"She's really nice." He thought, feeling a lot better than before. He'd never talked to anyone on the bus before, except for the driver. He leaned into his seat and sighed, feeling his nervousness fade. Her overall friendly attitude combined with that sense of familiarity made him relax. Still, he silently wondered who she was. A couple minutes later, he glanced back at her and watched as she fumbled with her luggage.

"Dang it." She cursed, maneuvering herself in her seat and holding her luggage at a better angle. The boy stared at her luggage and then at her uniform and felt some dots begin to form. It was the uniform. He'd seen that uniform before somewhere. As he tried to remember where, he was distracted by the sounds of objects clumping around inside her luggage. He stared at the luggage in confusion as more questions appeared in his head. Who was this girl? What was she doing on this bus? Is she part of a school field trip? We're both heading to the same place, but what's her reason?

"What's in there?" The boy asked, curiously. The girl stopped fumbling around with her luggage and stared at him. She looked at the boy's hero costume and grinned as an idea formed in her head.

"My luggage? Just my hero costume." She answered, casually. The answer got an instantaneous reaction from the boy, who's eyes widened with shock.

"Wait. Really?" The boy asked, clenching his gloves in excited interest. The girl was caught off guard by his instant reaction and started to giggle.

"Mhm." She answered, nodding in confirmation. The boy felt exhilarated by the confirmation, feeling his smile grow a mile wide. All his previous nervousness was thrown out the window after hearing about her hero costume. He wanted to know who she was even more now.

"Who are you? Are you a hero?" He questioned, making his eyes sparkle with interest. The girl saw the excitement on his face and found it adorable.

"I guess now's a good time to introduce myself." She said, holding in her laugh, "My name's Ami. Ami Midoriya." She revealed, making the boy go silent once more.

"Ami Midoriya?" The boy repeated, feeling his brain work in overtime to figure out where he had heard that name from.

"Mhm. Normally, I'd shake hands, but they're kinda full right now." She laughed, referring to her luggage. The boy ignored what she said and focused on her name, remembering the past. Memories of sitting in front of the television watching the Sports Festival came to mind. Just like that, he gasped in realization as the mental image of two people with green hair entered his mind. Ami Midoriya was at the Sports Festival. Which means Ami is a UA student!

"You're from UA! I watched you fight in the Sports Festival!" He exclaimed, loud enough for everyone on the bus to hear. They heard the mention of UA and turned their heads towards Ami and the boy.

"You did?" Ami asked, appreciating the comment.

"You were so awesome!" He exclaimed, making her smile proudly at him.

"Thanks." She smiled, watching him start rambling at incredibly fast speeds. The speed in which he asked her questions stunned her, reminding her once more of Izuku. She held in her laughter and did her best to answer his questions.

Ami's Internship Day One - Noon

"Alright, Passengers. This is our stop!" The bus driver announced. He looked down at the machinery and pulled the lever, opening the door hatches in the front and in the back. The passengers quickly piled out of the bus and walked towards the building in front of them. The sight of the building made them gasp, quickly taking pictures of the front with their cameras. Last to come out of the bus was Ami Midoriya. She stepped out of the bus with luggage in hand and landed on the concrete sidewalk. She took a deep breath and looked up ahead, letting her jaw drop at the sight of the building.

"Passengers. Welcome to Hosu's biggest attraction: The Quirk Museum!" The bus driver announced on the loud speakers.

"Enjoy the visit!" He said, pulling the lever again and switching out of park. He immediately drove off, leaving Ami alone. Ami closed her mouth so she wouldn't gag from the cloud of dirt left in the buses wake. She kept her eyes glued on the front of the building with awe.

"Wow." Ami said, staring at the tall, front entrance. Even from her distance, the building was very tall and grand looking. The very center of the front entrance was a massive glass window that let you peek inside the building. Ami counted each floor she could see through the glass and reached five stories. Each floor was around 20 feet high. The structure was mainly black marble with intricately detailed columns. Banners lined the walls of the massive structure, showing off promotions for events. Sadly, a map of the inside was nowhere in sight. Ami squinted her eyes and shielded them with her arm in an attempt to see through the sun as she stared up at the massive tower structure reaching high into the sky. The tower was massive and looked like it also had several floors to it. Ami wasn't sure how high it was, but she was definitely sure that the view of the city up there was amazing.

It wasn't just the building that was impressive, the road to enter the museum was amazing as well. There was a garden to her left and right, filled with flowers of many colors. People were wandering around the garden with awe at the perfectly trimmed bushes that resembled heroes. To the right of her, Ami could see a small picnic area with families sitting down. Just like UA, the museum was built on a hill, making the building look even bigger from below. The buses all drove up the hill through a fortified gate with a massive fence. It made her wonder how secure the whole place was. Having seen enough from the outside she was about to start walking to the front until she was interrupted by a child's voice.

"Cool, huh?" The voice asked, coming from her left. Ami heard the voice and turned her head to the left, seeing a helmet barely reach the bottom of her vision. She looked down and made eye contact with the young boy from the bus. She smiled at him and nodded her head in agreement.

"Ha. You bet. This place looks amazing!" Ami smiled, taking in the incredible view. She couldn't help but notice the striking resemblance to the USJ's front entrance. Albeit, with more crowds and massive lines. She wondered if there was any inspiration in the design.

"Have you never been here before?" The boy asked, folding his arms together.

"Yeah." She replied, making the hero-child's eyes bulge out in shock.

"Seriously?!" The young boy blurted out, his voice echoed through the area. Several bystanders glanced at the two as they walked to the front entrance, wondering what was up with him. Ami flinched a bit at the surprising loud outburst and stared at his face with an apologetic half frown. He was slack jawed and standing perfectly still. She flinched at her screwup and quickly backpedaled, coming up with a reasonable excuse.

"Hey, it's not like I've never heard about it. Just never been here." She clarified, defending herself. She remembered seeing all the advertisements for its grand opening a few years back. The boy heard Ami's explanation and paused, thinking of a good idea. His mood quickly recovered as he stared back at Ami with a smile.

"You'll love it! This place has a ton of cool stuff." He exclaimed, enthusiastically spreading his arms out wide with emphasis.

"You seem to know all about it?" Ami pointed out, making the boy nod.

"Yeah, I do." He repeated, feeling a sense of pride in that fact. His lips formed a smug grin as he folded his arms together.

"I've only been here everyday." He bragged, looking proud. Ami stared at him and questioned the validity of his claim.

"Everyday?" She repeated, raising her eyebrow in doubt. The boy looked at her and silently gulped, noticing she saw right through him. He turned around and faced the opposite way, looking at the ground with arms crossed.

"Well, almost everyday. School takes up most of the time for me to come here." He admitted, kicking pebbles on the floor. Ami rolled her eyes in amusement, continuing the conversation.

"So, you must know your way around the place, don't you?" Ami wondered, forming an idea in her head. The boy turned around and quickly nodded his head in confirmation.

"Uh huh." He said, feeling proud of that knowledge.

"In that case, how bout helping me out?" She suggested, causing him to tilt his head with interest.

"With what?" He asked, wanting to know more.

"Well, it's like I said on the bus; I'm a hero-in-training, remember?" Ami reminded him, making him remember the answer she gave after answering 50 different questions about UA. He nodded his head in understanding and smiled.

"So, you're looking for someone?" He inquired, rubbing his chin.

"Mhm. I'm looking for a Hero that I'm supposed to meet inside." Ami nodded.

"Did he tell you where to meet?" He asked, making Ami frown. She looked left and right as the contents of his letter went through her head. No. No, he didn't.

"Not really. He sent me a letter in the mail telling me to come to the Quirk Museum in Hosu." She answered, wiping her face with her hand.

"Who's the hero you're supposed to meet? Is he cool?" He asked, wondering if he knew them. Ami smiled at the question, rapidly nodding her head in response.

"Yeah, he's cool. In fact, he's one of my favorites." Ami exclaimed, making the boy as excited as her.

"Who? Who? Who?" He questioned, begging for an answer.

"Backdraft!" She exclaimed, smiling big and wide. The boy heard the hero name and recognized it. Him? But he has a water quirk. The boy flared his nostrils and snorted in amusement.

"Pfft. Hehe. Backdraft?" The boy laughed, finding her answer funny. He turned around expecting to see an amused smile, instead what he got was an intense stare of disapproval.

"I mean…Backdraft!? Wooow..." He exclaimed with fake surprise followed by awkward laughter. Ami narrowed her eyes and looked at him with scrutiny, making him suddenly feel small. It was like the look his mother would give him after he broke something.

"Sorry." He apologized, feeling the pressure from her stare.

"Ha." She laughed, shaking her head at him with a light smile.

"It's okay. I get that a lot now." She said, forgiving him. He felt relief pass through him as her eyes returned to their normal position.

"But I thought you breathed fire? He asked, genuinely curious with her choice.

"I do." Ami replied, making the boy furrow his eyebrows.

"Then why are you doing that intern thing with a water hero?" He inquired, wanting an explanation.

"I met him last year and that was when he offered. I also chose him because he aligns with my own goals of becoming a rescue hero." Ami explained,"Oh, and dream fulfillment." She added with a smirk.

"You wanna be a rescue hero?" The boy said, sounding sad.

"Yup." She answered, noticing the change in his tone.

"Aww." He frowned, "But you were so cool fighting in the Sports Festival." He complained with sad disappointment. Ami looked at the sad frown on his face and felt bad. There was more to being a hero than beating up bad guys. He was only a kid, he'll understand eventually. Still, the frown on his face didn't sit well with her. She approached him and put her hand on the top of his helmet, getting his attention. She bent over slightly to get to his height and made eye contact.

"Hey, who says a rescue hero can't fight villains?" Ami questioned, flexing her muscles and pounding her fist into her hand. Her efforts to cheer him up succeeded as a smile returned to his face.

"Yeah." He nodded. Ami nodded in return.

"So, you wanna help?" Ami asked, closing her eyes and smiling cheerfully. He looked at the hopeful expression on her face and thought it over in his head. She needs to go in the museum. Backdraft is in the museum, but she doesn't know where. That's perfect! He looked at her with a smile and nodded, forming a master plan.

"Well…we'll have to get in first, but okay!" The boy nodded, happy to help.

"Great!" Ami exclaimed, smiling happily.

She turned towards the front entrance and felt her smile drop when she noticed how long the lines were for entry. The front entrance had three separate lines all filled with people wanting in. There were a lot of parents in the lines which made Ami curious about the young boy beside her. She silently wondered if his parents knew he was here, making her frown slightly. Another realization came to her at that moment, making her eyes widen in embarrassment.

"Wait! I have no idea what this kid's name is." She thought, mentally facepalming. She closed her eyes and cringed, shaking her head at her mistake.

"How should I ask? I know, just play it cool." Ami thought, nodding in agreement.

"Hey. Shouldn't I know the name of my guide?" Ami asked, getting a confused look from the kid.

"I didn't tell you?" He asked, trying to remember if he told her his name.

"No." She answered, being truthful. The boy stared at her and nodded, feeling a confident smile form on his lips.

"Oh, if that's the case, then you can call me, Spark Plug!" He announced, raising his fists up in the air in dramatic fashion.

"...Huh?" Ami said, at a loss of words. She had to hand it to him. She wasn't expecting him to introduce himself like that. The boy looked at the clear confusion on her face and quickly gave an explanation.

"That's my Hero name." He said, making Ami return to normal. She let out a giggle in amusement and looked at him.

"I get that, but what's your real name?" She asked, making the boy cross his arms and close his eyes.

"Hmph. My name is Hayato Ishida! But, when I'm in my hero costume, I go by Spark Plug!" He proclaimed, spinning around and making his cape twirl. The sparkles on the cape made it twinkle as he spun. He opened his eyes and smiled wide, showing off his costume again.

"Cute." Ami thought, gushing at his homemade costume.

"Well, okay, Spark Plug. Lead the way!" Ami exclaimed, pointing towards the front entrance. Her eyes went wide when she looked at the line again. It was twice as large as before.

"Well, actually. Which line do we get in?" She asked, blurting out the question.

"Lines? Tsk. Tsk. Where we're going, we don't need lines." He stated with the utmost of confidence, making Ami more curious.

"Really?" She asked, getting a smug nod from the boy.

"Uh huh. All thanks to this!" Hayato explained, pulling out a blue card out of seemingly nowhere. Ami stared at the card and squinted her eyes at its heavenly glow. It was actually the sun reflecting off it, making the words on it unreadable.

"The Quirk Museum Unlimited Access Pass!" He announced, holding the card up high in the air with his hand.

"With this card, I can skip all the lines and get in without any problem." Hayato bragged, putting away his blue card back into his sleeve with a smug grin.

"Nice." She said, flashing him a thumbs up in approval.

"I know, huh? Best of all. I can even bring someone in for free!" He exclaimed, putting his hand down.

"Cool." Ami said, impressed by the card. Hayato nodded and felt his heart start racing with excitement. Talking up the Museum made him even more excited to get in.

"Follow me, fellow hero!" Hayato exclaimed, raising his fist in the air and running towards the front entrance.

"Sure thing, Spark Plug!" Ami said, raising her fist in the air and running after Spark Plug. Ami kept her eyes focused on Hayato as they ran towards the front entrance. Looking down on him from behind made her smile with nostalgia, letting her mind drift back to a time when she would chase after Izuku with their All Might figures. Hayato reminded her a lot of Izuku at that moment. Glancing up at the approaching building, she began to appreciate its size more. She wondered what sort of amazing stuff could be inside.

"If the place looks this cool on the outside, I wonder what it looks like on the inside?" She thought, eagerly following along with Hayato.

Quirk Museum - Observation Tower - Lower Deck

Inside a comfortable room was Backdraft, staring down at the ground level with intense focus. From his vantage point, he could see everyone and everything. He was in the closest room to the ground floor from inside the observation tower just so he could get a glimpse of his expected student. However, it was taking longer than he thought for her to get here. It was approaching lunchtime, making him more concerned. He had almost begun to panic until he saw a familiar figure below.

His eye raised up in interest. He quickly looked down at the ground using the scope next to him and zoomed in on the target.

"There you are." He smiled, recognizing the green hair coming out of the bus.

Museum Front Entrance

Ami and Hayato stood side-by-side in front of a glass door that was a good twenty feet away from the crowded lines. She stared up at the glass door in awe. It was absurdly tall. The door had to be a dozen feet high, reminding her a bit of the door in her classroom. Except this one was made out of glass.

"Wow. These doors are tall." Ami stated, getting a nod from Hayato. She looked up at the very top of the glass doors and saw a sign with big letters, squinting her eyes and reading it.

"Staff and VIP's enter here." Ami said, reading the sign.

"Mhm. They use this door to transport stuff into the lobby. But it's mostly used as an entryway for VIP's." Hayato explained, walking up to the door.

"Makes sense." Ami nodded, looking around the doors for a way to open them.

"There's nothing to grab onto and the doors are locked. I don't see any scanner around to read Hayato's Unlimited Access card, either." Ami thought, feeling the right side of her lip start bending downward. She stared back at the door and scratched her head, unsure of what to do.

"So…how do you get in?" Ami questioned, tapping her fingers together.

"Watch this." Hayato said, getting in front of the door. He quickly turned around to make sure Ami was watching.

"Oh, and…stand there." He instructed, pointing at the floor to his left. Ami raised her eyebrow at him and crossed her arms with skepticism, slowing moving to the spot as instructed.

"Right here?" She asked, pointing at the ground beneath her. Hayato nodded and gave her a thumbs up in appreciation.

"Yeah, that's good." He said, staring back at the door. Ami smiled back and sighed, uncrossing her arms and dropping them. She put her hand behind her hip and grabbed hold of her luggage's handle. In front of her was a black wall with nothing on it. She glanced at Hayato and waited for what he'd do next. Looking up at the glass door, Hayato raised his fist upward as high as he could go and started knocking.

Knock. Knock. Knock.

Ami watched Hayato knock on the door and was a little confused by his actions. Before she could ask what he was doing, the wall in front of her made a small humming sound. She stared at the wall in front of her and narrowed her eyes in confusion. Almost instantly, the wall opened up, revealing a square shaped hole. A mechanical buzzing sound started up as a Robot popped out of the square, surprising Ami as it propelled itself out of the hole at high speeds. The robot came online and moved forward, letting its upper body come out of the square hole. It stopped right in front of Ami and made eye contact with her through its multi-camera'd face. Its face was black and shaped like a cylinder with a camera in the front and on its sides. Its chest was visible but its lower half was obscured by darkness. Ami also noticed it had human shaped arms and hands. An orange light flashed on as it stared at Ami.

"Hello." The robot said with a male voice talking through a speaker below the front camera lens. Ami was blown away by the robot and squirmed a bit when she heard its greeting. She raised her hand up slowly and replied back.

"Hel-"

Ami was then cut off by a green light switching on above the right side of the front camera lens. A projector turned on and shined light on her body, scanning her body from head-to-toe.

"Please stand still." The robot asked. Ami quickly complied with the orders and froze, letting the green light scan her head and work its way down. She awkwardly kept her hand raised, not wanting to move.

"Scanning…" the robot said, flashing its green light on Ami's body. Once it finished scanning Ami's body, It also looked at the luggage behind her and started scanning it. Finishing in seconds, The robot turned off its green light and gave Ami a thumbs up in thanks while it checked its database.

"Ami Midoriya. Welcome to the Quirk Museum." The robot said, nodding at Ami with a nice voice. Ami squirmed a bit and nodded back, realizing what it said in amazement.

"Oh, whoa. It knows my name?" She questioned, looking at the robot some more. The robot stared back at her as she did this. Hayato looked at the robot with slight surprise.

"That's weird. Dormin usually asks for your name first. Hey, you must be in the system already!" He pointed out, quickly finding an explanation.

"Dormin?" Ami repeated, wondering if that was the bot's name. She looked at the bot's chest and squinted her eyes, noticing a small placard above where a heart would and read it.

Door Man

"Oh, Door Man. Dormin." Ami repeated in her head, putting the name together.

"Heh." She giggled in amusement.

"Please keep the axe secured at all times when in public and enjoy your visit, Hero." Dormin instructed, following safety guidelines. Ami went silent for a second in realization that he scanned her luggage.

"You have an axe!?" Hayato asked, looking at Ami with surprise.

"It's a support item." She explained, nodding at the robot, "And it's secure." Ami assured, receiving a nod from Dormin.

"Splendid." Dormin said, shifting its head to the left. Hayato made eye contact with its front camera lens and smiled. He rushed over to where Ami was and stood in front of her. Ami stepped back and gave him space, watching as Dormin started its scan.

"My turn now." Hayato said, watching the green light and the projector turn on.

"Scanning…" Dormin said, flashing its green light through Hayato's body. The scanner picked up all the things on Hayato's body and deemed him to be safe.

"Hello there, Hayato Ishida." Dormin said, waving at Hayato.

"Hi, Dormin." Hayato smiled, making Dormin return his smile with a thumbs up.

"Welcome to the Quirk Museum. Enjoy your 2034th visit to the museum." Dormin said, going in for the high five. Hayato nodded and gave the robot a high five while Ami stood by, flabbergasted by Hayato's amount of visits.

"This is your 2034th visit?" Ami stuttered, blown away by the number. He really wasn't kidding about coming here everyday. A clicking sound in the glass door returned Ami to her senses.

"The doors are unlocked. You may now enter." Dormin said.

"Thank you, Dormin." Hayato said, pushing the glass door open with ease.

"Have fun, Hayato." Dormin said, watching Hayato leave.

"Thank you, Dormin." Ami said, following close behind the boy.

"Have fun, Ami." Dormin said, watching Ami leave. The robot watched the glass doors close and locked it again, heading back into its spot in the wall. Ami stayed close behind Hayato as she entered the building, letting out a huge gasp when she saw the inside.

"Whoa…" She said, feeling her jaw hit the floor. It was far bigger on the inside than she had expected. The layout of the place was similar to the USJ but smaller in scale.

The lobby gave way to a massive rectangular walkway plaza that reached the very back of the building. The left side and right side had three massive structures that you could enter through glassdoors. In the very center of the building was a structural column surrounded by 4 elevators. Ami could see people enter the four elevators and watched as they travelled upwards towards the observation tower. Ami tracked the elevator with her eyes through the giant glass ceiling, watching as it reached inside the observation tower. She looked at the glass ceiling above and quickly realized that the Sun was lighting up the place.

The natural sunlight made the plaza shine beautifully. The downside to sunlight, however, was the reflections made it difficult to read what each of the buildings entrance signs said. Ami took in the sights and was astonished by the scenery. Everything looked so clean and vibrant, it was amazing.

"Isn't it awesome!?" Hayato exclaimed, looking at Ami's slack-jawed expression.

"Uh huh." Ami said, barely speaking properly.

The lobby they were in was like any other Museum entrance with crowds of visitors packed in three lines. The room was painted gray with blue tiles. There was a red carpet below the three crowded lines of visitors starting from the entrance all the way to the front of the kiosk in the middle. There was a second red carpet that wrapped around the kiosk. Inside the kiosk were three employees wearing black suits with red ties and what looked like an ID badge on their chest. The three employees were efficiently accepting transactions and putting money in a cash register, quickly handing out a pamphlet for each guest before moving onto the next. Ami was impressed by their speed.

Ami looked back up at the ceiling and was blown away by how high up it was. She could see five floors above her before reaching the ceiling. Anyone from the 2nd and 5th floors could look down the railing and see the plaza. Escalators on the sides of each floor helped send visitors up and down the floors.

The place felt like an indoor Mall. Even the gift shop to her left was the size of a department store. She looked inside the gift shop and was amazed by the shirts, toys, and other oddities inside. Across the way from the gift shop she could see the entrance to the first building on the left. She could barely see inside through the glass entrance but she knew straight away it was the Cafeteria. It also helped that she could smell the slightest hint of food in the air. She glanced at the wall to the left of her and noticed a clock was on it. She read the time and frowned a bit with a hint of nervousness. It was lunchtime and her stomach was starting to growl, making her clench her luggage tightly. She sighed and shrugged her shoulders, holding back her hunger. She needed to find Backdraft already. A quick glance at her phone during the bus ride showed that some of her classmates already arrived at their internships, making her envious.

She shook her head and looked at the plaza, narrowing her eyes solemnly.

"Backdraft's somewhere in here. I just have to find him." She thought, nodding her head in agreement. Lunch can wait, finding Backdraft comes first. But, then again, where should she start? Her eyes lowered a bit in realization and glanced back at the kiosk. She watched as the three employees handed out pamphlets to each guest and felt a lightbulb turn on in her head. She smiled and pounded her fist in achievement, turning around and looking at Hayato.

"Can we get a map over there?" She asked, darting her eyes towards the kiosk. Hayato immediately understood and nodded in response.

"Yeah. That's the front desk by the way." Hayato explained, making her giggle.

"I figured." She replied, nodding her head. Ami started walking towards the kiosk while Hayato walked beside her, matching her speed. The wheels from her luggage rolled on the tiles, getting the employees attention.

"Hey! Can I get a map?" Ami asked, looking at the employee with a polite smile. The employee nodded and grabbed a pamphlet from the pile, handing it to her with haste.

"Enjoy your visit." He said, making her nod.

"I will. Thanks." Ami replied, grabbing the pamphlet out of his hand. The employee nodded before focusing back on admissions with the other two employees.

"Alright. Now we're getting somewhere." Ami smiled, looking at the front cover of the pamphlet.

"Quirk Museum Guidebook. Contains a map, trivia, and other interesting details." Ami said, reading the cover. She flipped open the page and found the table of contents, looking for the map.

"Page 5." She said, skimming through the pamphlet.

"Ah ha!" Ami exclaimed, landing on the page with the map. She looked at the detailed layout of the museum and analyzed it.

"See look! This is where we are." Hayato explained, putting his finger on the map. Ami followed his finger and recognized the front entrance of the building. The map was a top view layout of the whole museum with each building labeled and named. Smaller locations were also labeled on the map. To her surprise, however, was the size of the museum. Everything she saw was actually the front half of the building. What she initially thought was the back of the museum was actually an entrance to the largest area. The Training Area.

"Wow." She muttered, blown away by the size of the museum. It was no USJ, but it felt just as impressive.

"The left side here is where all the fun stuff is." Hayato explained, putting his finger on the left side of the map.

"Food Area, Play Area, and the Water Area." Ami read, raising her eyebrows up in understanding.

"Seems simple enough." She stated, checking out the labels on the side. Her eyes darted towards the right and looked at the right side of the building on the map.

"And on the right, there's the History Area, Science Area, and Hero Area." Ami read, raising only one eyebrow up in interest.

"Hero Area? That sounds cool." She thought, smirking a bit and letting her mind imagine what's inside. She looked back down on the map and read the name of the large area in the back.

"Training Area? What's that for?" She thought, reading the label to the side with a puzzled expression. Her eyes widened a bit when she noticed how much space the Training Area was taking up.

"Geez, it takes up the whole other half of the Museum." Ami thought, blown away by the size of the Training Area. She darted her eyes away from the map and looked down at Hayato, who was smiling at her with intense excitement.

"What's the Training Area?" She asked, making Hayato's pupils widen.

"The Training Area? That's the most famous part of the Museum! It's this massive indoor park you can rent out and use your quirk freely. It's only for VIP's, though." Hayato explained.

"Wow. Ever been there?" Ami asked, curiously.

"Hehe. All the time!" He bragged. Ami smiled and rolled her eyes in amusement. Looking back at the map, she narrowed her eyes and started thinking about where Backdraft could be.

"The Water Area's enticing, but so is the Training Area…" Ami thought, stroking her chin in deep thought. She glanced at Hayato in her peripheral vision and wondered if he would know where to find Backdraft.

"If he's here almost everyday, then he has to know where all the heroes would be." Ami theorized, looking back down at Hayato.

"Hey, Spark Plug." She said, getting his attention.

"Hm?" Hayato replied, tilting his head a little in curiosity. Ami closed the pamphlet and held it gently in her hand.

"Do you have a guess where Backdraft could be?" She asked, making Hayato's eyes glow.

"Hmmm? Maybe…" He said, rubbing an imaginary beard on his chin.

"I know. The Hero Area!" Hayato exclaimed, taking two seconds to come up with the answer.

"Are you sure?" Ami asked, somewhat skeptically. The Hero Area seemed like the obvious choice but she wasn't entirely sure.

"Uh huh! That place is full of Hero memorabilia and cool stuff. Plus, most heroes that visit here are usually found there." Hayato elaborated, piquing Ami's interest.

"Most?" Ami thought, letting her mind space out a bit in contemplation.

"Hero Area? Well, it does make sense for Backdraft to be in there. He is a hero…" Ami thought, nodding slowly in agreement.

"If he's gonna be anywhere, then it's definitely in there!" Hayato explained, feeling absolutely sure of himself. Ami looked at Hayato's face and felt the slightest bit of skepticism.

"Does he want to go to the Hero Area because he thinks Backdraft is there or because that's where he wants me to go?" Ami thought, looking at the excitement in his face. She couldn't resist the innocent smile on his face and shrugged.

"Guess it can't hurt to check." Ami thought, reaching a decision.

"Well, then. Mind leading the way?" She asked, getting a nod in confirmation.

"Follow me!" He said, waving his arm towards the direction of the Hero Area.

"If he's there, he's there." Ami thought, shrugging one more time before taking one step forward.

"It'll just be quick." She thought, following along with luggage in tow.

Observation Tower - Lower Deck

Meanwhile, up in the observation tower, Backdraft was starting to have doubts. As time passed by faster and faster, paranoia started to set in. Sweat started forming around his face as he clapped his pipe hands together in nervousness, pacing around the room with worry.

"I thought she'd be here by now…" Backdraft stated, thinking out loud. Wyvern raised his eyes away from a magazine that he was reading and lifted his head up slightly. He was sitting casually on a small couch in the middle of the room. He looked at Backdraft and kept silent, listening to his mumbling.

"But that green haired girl from the bus. Was that even her? Her face was covered by her hair, I couldn't tell." Backdraft mumbled, shaking his head.

"Let's see…The train ride from Musutafu was only two hours long. If the tour bus wasn't already there by the time she reached the station then that would've been a 10 minute wait. And the tour bus from the train station to here should've only been 30 minutes. Meaning she should have been here about…" Backdraft muttered, doing the math in his head. He looked down at his wrist and checked his watch, confirming his math skills.

"She should have been here 37 minutes ago." Backdraft stated, holding onto his chin with his pipe hand. He took a deep breath and loudly exhaled, not feeling better in the slightest.

"Maybe I did give her the wrong address?" Backdraft panicked, placing his hands on the side of his face. He gasped and felt the weight on his shoulders get heavier.

"Oh no. Does this make me a bad teacher? This never happened on my first internship. I'm such a moron!" Backdraft said, closing his eyes and weeping.

"Relax." Wyvern said, still laying casually on the couch. He reached his hand out towards the table on his right and grabbed a pretzel out of a bag. Backdraft narrowed his eye at Wyvern and shook his head.

"Easy for you to say, she's not your responsibility. Ugh…I should've stayed at the Fire Station. Picked her up from there and drove the rest of the way here. At least then I'd have time to explain why we're here in the first place." Backdraft muttered, pacing around. Wyvern watched Backdraft pace around the room for a minute before a puff of smoke ignited on his shoulder, alerting him to his annoyance. He placed his hand on his shoulder and quickly covered the extra fabric on his costume.

"I got this." Wyvern assured, looking at his shoulder. Backdraft turned around and looked at Wyvern again, who was getting up off the couch and holding onto the pretzel bag.

"Don't beat yourself up about it. I'm sure you didn't mess up. Besides, what did you say earlier? About seeing her leave the bus." Wyvern recalled, making Backdraft shake his head some more.

"I thought it was her but she was with another kid." Backdraft explained, raising Wyvern's eyebrow in curiosity.

"Another kid?" He questioned, getting a familiar feeling in his head.

"Yeah, some shorter kid. It was hard to tell with the sun reflecting off whatever he was wearing." The rescue hero described, making Wyvern repeat his words in suspicion.

"Sun reflecting- oh, ha-hehe-haha." Wyvern laughed with a strange chuckle, letting it click inside his head in realization. Backdraft heard his laughter and stared at Wyvern incredulously.

"What?" He asked, wondering what Wyvern found funny.

"She's here." Wyvern assured, walking towards the back of the room. Backdraft raised his eye up and tilted his head in confusion.

"Are you sure?" He questioned, skeptically.

"Let's find out." Wyvern said, throwing away the empty pretzel bag in his hand into a trashcan.

"Computer, is there an Ami Midoriya in the building?" Wyvern questioned, clapping his hands twice.

"Yes. Ami Midoriya entered the Museum through the VIP Entrance ten minutes ago."

"What the-" Backdraft panicked, getting startled by the female voice. He looked around the room for the source and realized it was coming through the intercom speakers on each corner of the room.

"Since when was that- How long has that been a thing?' Backdraft questioned, thrown off guard by the AI.

"They installed it last year." Wyvern explained.

"Computer, where is Ami Midoriya right now?" He asked, clapping twice.

"Ami Midoriya was last seen entering the Hero Area on the first floor about two minutes ago. Cameras have not spotted her anywhere else."

"What's she doing there?" Backdraft asked, wondering if she thought he was in there. Then again, he never explicitly said where to find him in the building, making him mentally facepalm upon realization.

"Probably got wrapped up in Sparky's antics." Wyvern explained, confusing Backdraft even more.

"Sparky?" Backdraft repeated, "Who's Sparky?" He asked, watching Wyvern press a button on the wall. The wall made a small beeping sound before opening up, revealing the elevator.

"He's the kid you saw." He answered, entering the elevator.

"I'll go get her." He said, getting a nod from Backdraft. Wyvern pressed a button in the elevator, hearing a beep. Backdraft heard the beep and realized he should go get her.

"Wait. I'll come with you!" Backdraft said, running up towards the elevator.

"Oops-" Wyvern said, covering his mouth with his hand with a fake apology. The elevator door closed before Backdraft could reach it, stopping right at the door with a groan.

"Ugh. You did that on purpose." Backdraft complained, shaking his head. Now he would have to wait for the next elevator.

"Hehehe." Wyvern snickered inside the elevator.

"Probably should've told him to meet us at the Training Area. Oh well." Wyvern said, talking to himself. He continued to snicker to himself as the elevator moved down.

Hero Area - At the Same Time

Ami tried her best to stick close to Hayato, however, his rambunctiousness proved difficult for her. She struggled to keep up with him as he made his down the plaza, scooting through visitor after visitor. He made it look easy with his small size and quick speed, but Ami wasn't as lucky thanks to the luggage she was still carting along behind her. Ami watched Hayato leave her in the dust several times while she politely moved past visitor after visitor. Some of them had gotten distracted by the boy's costume and looked at him with smiles. Ami would then move around them with an awkward nod and a smile, signaling to them that they were together. They'd step aside for Ami to walk by while she tried her best to catch up. She looked down the plaza and saw Hayato approaching the front doors to the Hero Area. Without any hesitation, Hayato opened the door and entered, making Ami smirk and roll her eyes.

"What happened to letting me follow you?" She thought, taking no offense to his overexcitement. She followed the path Hayato took and approached the front doors of the Hero Area. She grabbed hold of the door and opened it, walking inside with luggage in tow. She entered a smaller lobby with an entrance to a darkly lit hallway with music over the speakers. She could hear children's laughter coming from inside the hallway as well as several oohs and ahhs. She approached the front desk and read the sign on the front.

"Tour in progress. Visitors can enter whenever but will have to wait till the tour guide returns."

"Hmph." Ami moaned, shrugging her shoulders. She entered the dark hallway without hesitation, hoping to catch up with Hayato somewhere inside.

"Welcome to the Hero Area." An automated voice said through the intercom. Ami heard the voice and looked around the dark hall, glancing at the light up displays to her left and right. Hero costumes were everywhere lining this hall. Although they were very rudimentary and simple, they were very cool to look at. She didn't recognize them at all though, which surprised her. She wasn't as knowledgeable as Izuku, but she still knew a lot of heroes. She stopped walking and stared at one of the costumes on display. It was a black cowl, with gray body armor, and a huge black cape. She looked down at the plaque in front of the costume and read it.

"The First Generation: Before reaching the world we have now, these ordinary citizens used their meta powers for good and became one of the first superheroes of their time. We're honored to have them here on display for generations to enjoy and admire."

"No wonder I didn't recognize you. You're way before my time." Ami thought, looking at the hero costume some more.

"Must have been confusing. Having a quirk while most didn't." Ami thought, wondering what it was like to have a quirk back then. When 80% of the population didn't have a quirk. She smiled and bowed at the costume, paying her respects. She turned towards the hall and returned to walking.

"Hayato must be up ahead somewhere." Ami thought, increasing her pace. She passed by many hero costumes on display and would catch a glance at them before moving on further. As she walked further down the halls and passed corners, voices from the tour would get louder. She followed the direction of the voice and entered a new room, making her stop in awe.

"Welcome to the UA Hall of Heroes." An automated voice said over the intercom. Ami looked around the room and saw many things she recognized from UA. It was amazing.

"Wow." She whispered, feeling her breath get taken away. She looked to her left and saw a plaque on the wall. She approached it and started to read it.

"Dedicated to the Heroes, past and present, that roamed the halls of the Prestigious UA High. This room features a look at Heroes that went to and graduated from UA High. Also features a look at the many Heroes-turned-Teachers in the past and present."

"I wonder if that Gran Torino guy Izzy's interning with is in here?" Ami wondered, staring at the room. She shrugged and entered the hall, stepping foot on the UA themed carpet. She stayed along the left side wall and looked at all the posters of proheroes that went to UA. She recognized a ton of them, making her smile fondly at them. She didn't pay much attention to the ones she didn't recognize. She kept her eyes glued to their portraits and hero names and felt her heart beat fast when she saw a familiar one.

"No way!" Ami exclaimed, looking at the poster with joyful recognition, "Backdraft went to UA?" Ami questioned, staring at his poster on the wall.

"Graduated UA 11 years ago? Whoa." Ami read, feeling exhilarated. A quick thought went through her head that made her excitement spike.

"Does that mean…Backdraft sat in my class?" She thought, holding in her fangirling squeals. She read the plaque below his poster and frowned at one single sentence.

"Was put in class 1-B."

"Oh…" Ami said, feeling her heart rate return to normal. So they didn't share the same classroom, but at least he was in UA. That knowledge was enough to make her peachy. She continued to look at the posters until reaching the very end of the wall. Satisfied with looking, she turned around and stared at the room in full view.

The room was filled with hero technology from pro hero alumni locked inside glass display tables around the room. In the front of each display was a sign with details about the hero it belonged to and what purpose the technology served.

Tables of gadgets and costumes lined the room. They were observed by dozens of visitors who were looking at them with awe while the tour guide explained what they were. Ami looked at the crowd of tourists and squinted her eyes when she noticed a boy in a hero costume among them. She smirked and headed towards the crowd. Approaching from behind, she stood behind Hayato and lightly tapped his shoulder. He jumped a bit at the sudden touch and quickly turned around, realizing it was only Ami.

"Hey, Spark Plug. What happened to letting me follow you?" Ami asked, in a lighter tone to show she wasn't mad. Hayato looked at her expression and awkwardly chuckled.

"Oh. Whoops." He apologized, shrugging his shoulders.

"It's no problem, just try not to run faster than me." She said, laughing at his apology. Hayato nodded and smiled, turning his attention back to the technology on the glass display table.

"Okay." Hayato nodded in apology. He then remembered who Ami was looking for and changed the subject.

"Hey. Did you find Backdraft yet?" Hayato asked. Ami shook her head in response, holding in her disappointment.

"Only his poster on the wall." She said, pointing towards its direction with her finger.

"Oh. His gear is on display right there." Hayato said, pointing at a wall behind him.

"Ooo." Ami said, looking at the display with wonder. She looked at the Water Hero's costume and noticed another dark hallway to the right. She squinted her eyes at the sign in the entrance and could barely read it.

"What's down that hall over there?" Ami asked, leaning closer to Hayato.

"Huh?" Hayato questioned, looking at Ami. She lifted her head up and nodded, signaling the direction she was looking. He turned around and stared at the dark hallway and knew instantly what she was asking about.

"Oh, that's the Teacher Hall." Hayato explained, waving his hand at the direction of the hallway, "It's a long hallway that loops back around to that exit over there." He answered, getting a nod in understanding.

"Oh. That's cool." She stated.

"Yeah. All the teachers at UA have their own little rooms inside." He explained, getting her interested.

"Have you been through all of them?" Ami asked, getting an enthusiastic nod from Hayato.

"Yeah." Hayato said, before frowning a bit.

"Well…Not all of them." He admitted, placing a hand on his elbow.

"Oh? Why not?" Ami asked, curiously. She noticed the sour expression on his face and wanted to know the reason. Hayato frowned a little in embarrassment, hiding his small blush and fiddling around with his gloves.

"...Children aren't allowed in the Midnight room." He admitted, cluing Ami in on the reason he hasn't seen them all.

"..." Ami went wide-eyed and silent, blushing in realization.

"Well- ahem. We can skip that one." Ami coughed, composing herself. She took a quick breath and changed the subject,

"Wanna look inside?" Ami suggested. Hayato's face widened a bit as the lights shone in his eyes.

"Sure." He nodded. From the entrance, a stoic figure leaned on the wall, blocking the plaque from view. He watched Hayato drag Ami into the Teacher Hall and smirked in amusement.

Ami entered the hall with Hayato close beside her, both entering the first room with awe. It was a small history of the school, displaying the year it was built and how many students attended in year one. In the center of the wall was a picture of Principal Nezu.

"Is it true that his fur is super soft?" Hayato questioned.

"I wish I could answer that." Ami replied, also wondering how soft Nezu's fur was. In the next room, Ami and Hayato were immediately greeted by the statue of the Number One Hero, All Might. The room was the same as the last except for the statue in the middle. The two stared at the wall and saw tons of information about his hero career. A small television in the room played a reel of his heroic feats throughout the years.

"This is his first year at UA. That must be so awesome." Hayato exclaimed, getting a giggle out of Ami.

"Yeah." She agreed, thinking about All Might.

"What's he like?" Hayato asked out of curiosity

"He's really nice, but he knows when to be strict. He's super caring and funny at times, too." Ami answered, laughing a little.

"I wish I could meet All Might." Hayato said, feeling jealous.

"Maybe you will." Ami assured, cheering him up.

"You think so?"

"Mhm."

"Who's next?" Ami asked, following Hayato through the door. She entered the new room and stared at the wall, recognizing the hero instantly.

"Oh. Snipe." Ami said, looking at the replica of his hero costume hanging on the wall. A portrait of him was hanged above the costume as well as information about him. Ami stared at the costume and nodded her head slowly, admiring it.

She remembered how quickly he had acted to defend her classmates from villains at the USJ. She smiled at the memory, feeling grateful for the teacher's arrival. She glanced at his holsters and noticed they were empty, making her raise her eyebrow in confusion.

"Where's his guns?" She questioned, getting a nod from Hayato in agreement.

"His guns are hanging up here." A stoic voice said, coming from a small corner of the room behind them.

Ami and Hayato jumped a little by the sudden new voice. Ami gulped a bit, mentally facepalming at not noticing someone was in the room with them. She turned around slowly and made eye contact with the source of the voice.

"Hey, Sparky." The man said in a calm, stoic voice. Ami squinted her eyes at the man leaning comfortably on the wall and noticed his short red hair as well as the goggles. The goggles were brown with the lenses appearing bright red. Ami looked at the man's stoic expression and felt reminded of Aizawa's tired eyes. The only difference was the redhead seemed more relaxed compared to the dead inside look of her teacher. She looked down a bit more and noticed the stoic man's strange attire.

He was wearing a reddish brown leather jacket with pockets on the sides. The odd thing about his leather jacket was the custom addition to its left shoulder. Ami thought it was a scarf at first but quickly noticed the small holes on it. The extra fabric on his left shoulder was drooping down a bit over his arm, allowing her to get a clear view of the holes. There were three holes all positioned in a way that it almost resembled a shirt of its own. But that didn't make much sense in her head. The use of the extra fabric was unclear to her. She looked at his right shoulder and noticed a red insignia on it that clearly represented a logo of some sort. It was a red plus sign with swords clashing behind it. Looking back at his chest area, she noticed the burgundy armored vest beneath his unzipped leather jacket. The burgundy vest had lines going down vertically. He wore a brown belt with reddish brown pants that were also armored. His kneepads were brown as well as his boots.

Ami looked at the man's clothes and felt her eyes go wide with realization. The strange man in front of her was wearing a hero costume. This wasn't some tourist or employee, this was a hero! As soon as that realization clicked inside her head, so did his words.

"Wait. Sparky?" Ami thought, repeating the greeting in her head. She glanced at Hayato and watched him make eye contact with the unknown hero. Hayato stared him down with a solemn expression on his face before flaring his nostrils and showing off a defiant smirk, stomping the ground lightly with one foot.

"It's Spark Plug." Hayato corrected, crossing his arms in defiance. The stoic hero chuckled and pushed himself off the wall, standing up to full height with hands in his pockets. He flared his nostrils and grinned at Hayato before returning to his stoic expression. He looked back at Ami in silence, making her a little nervous. It was like he was staring into her soul. She could swear his eyes were slightly glowing in the dark area of the room. He stepped forward a bit and turned his head to the left, glancing at the glass display hanging on the in his peripheral vision.

"See. Guns." He pointed, darting his eyes at the replica of Snipe's guns. He placed his hands out of his pockets and crossed his arms, looking at them both with a quizzical look.

"So, you must be Ami Midoriya." He asked, raising an eyebrow. Ami heard the question and straightened herself up, looking professional. She looked at the stoic man and hesitated speaking.

"Uh- I mean, uh huh. Yeah, that's me." She nodded, composing herself. She brushed a loose strand of hair away from her face and thought about the question. A hero she's never seen before knows her name. That's awesome, but how? Looking at his face, she tilted her head slightly and felt the tiniest bit of dejavu from looking at him, making her wonder if she had seen him somewhere.

"Um, do you know me from the-" she asked, getting interrupted.

"Sports Festival? Yes. I was there with Backdraft. We sat next to each other, if you remember." He mentioned, getting a nod from Ami in understanding. A memory of the Sports Festival entered her mind as he said that. She remembered seeing Backdraft on the jumbotron and crying. She also remembered seeing a redhead sitting next to him. There it is. Her eyes lit up in recognition, letting a smile form on her lips.

"Wait. I do remember seeing you on the jumbotron when the cameras pointed at Backdraft." Ami said in recognition. The stoic expression vanished on his face, replacing itself with a genuine grin of approval.

"Hmph. You remember. That's good. I also helped clean up the giant iceberg Endeavor Junior left on the battlefield, but that's not important." He said, brushing it off with a wave of his hand and a shrug.

"Anyways, it's good to finally meet face-to-face. I'm Wyvern." He introduced. Ami smiled back and nodded.

"Hello." She replied. Wyvern nodded back and glanced at Hayato, who was hiding behind Ami. He wasn't doing a good job at it thanks to his costume. Wyvern kept up his grin and raised an eyebrow at the kid's actions. He was hiding like he was caught.

"I see you've already met, Sparky, over there." Wyvern brought up, waving his hand at the boy.

"Spark Plug." Hayato quickly replied, correcting him. Ami heard his voice come from behind her and turned her head around, looking at Hayato in her peripheral vision. He was casually hiding next to her luggage, confusing her.

"Why are you hiding?" She thought, looking at him with a puzzled look.

"Giving her the tour, Sparky?" Wyvern asked, bobbing his head to the right to look past Ami. Ami turned her head back around and looked at Wyvern again with confusion. Hayato lowered his eyes and stared at the floor, fiddling around with his gloves.

"...No. I'm helping her look for Backdraft." He explained, doing a bad job at being truthful. Wyvern nodded his head at the answer, chuckling a little.

"Oh, I see." He said, shaking his head a little with slight amusement. He walked around Ami and placed himself in plain view of Hayato, looking him dead in the eyes. Hayato awkwardly looked up at him, seeing his amused smirk.

"Did you forget that all the heroes are up in the tower at this time, as usual?" He asked, making Ami tilt her head.

"Huh?" Ami stuttered, picking up on Wyvern's insinuation.

"Busted." Wyvern whispered, looking at Ami. Ami turned around and stared at Hayato with arms crossed and eyebrows raised.

"Spark Plug." Ami said, getting Hayato's attention.

"Yes?" He asked.

"Is Wyvern telling the truth?" Ami questioned, making Hayato squirm a little in embarrassment.

"I'm sorry. You said you've never been here before, so, I thought I'd show you around for a bit." Hayato explained, feeling sorry for lying. Ami heard his explanation and sighed, shaking her head a little. She wasn't surprised in all honesty. She suspected that he was doing this under an alterior motive.

"Hey, don't feel too bad. It was a good lie. It fooled her." Wyvern smirked, getting a questionable look from Ami.

"I'm sorry." Hayato apologized again, looking down at the floor with a frown. Ami looked at him and shrugged, taking a deep breath and kneeling down to his level.

Hey, it's alright. You just wanted to show me around is all. I don't blame you. This place is really cool like you said." Ami said, smiling at him. The size of Hayato's frown decreased by the power of Ami's smile.

"Mhm." Hayato hummed, nodding in agreement. Ami nodded and continued to smile, forming an idea in her head.

"You know, I am gonna be here for a week." She mentioned, making Hayato's eyes widen.

"Really?" He asked, feeling excited.

"Yeah." She confirmed with a nod, "Maybe after everything's settled, you can give me a real tour?" Ami said, making Hayato excited again.

"Alright!" Hayato exclaimed, bouncing up and down triumphantly.

"There you go." Ami said, clapping her hands. She stood back up to full height and turned around, staring back at the stoic-faced hero. Wyvern was too busy looking at Hayato jumping around to notice. He was impressed by how quickly Ami managed to get Hayato excited.

"Well done." He thought, praising her actions. He glanced back at Ami and noticed she was staring at him and made eye contact.

"So, Backdraft's waiting for me in the tower?" Ami asked, as soon as their eyes met. Wyvern heard the question and stood still for a few seconds, thinking it over in his head.

"Probably not." He admitted, confusing Ami. She narrowed her eyes and appeared puzzled, leaning her head back a bit.

"So, where is he?" She asked, grabbing hold of the handle to her luggage. Wyvern raised his shoulders and turned around, walking towards the exit.

"Follow me." He said, opening the door and walking out. Ami quickly followed behind him while Hayato stepped forward and held the door open for Ami.

"Can I come along?" Hayato asked, with a hopeful smile.

"Sure thing, Sparky. I'll probably need help anyway." Wyvern hollered, walking past a group of visitors.

"Spark Plug." Hayato corrected him, flaring his nostrils. Ami kept an eye on Wyvern as they walked out of the Hero Area, passing by multiple groups of visitors. Each time they did, the group would notice Wyvern's costume and start whispering to themselves, making Ami confused.

"Do they know he's a hero?" Ami thought, wondering what was with the puzzled faces from the visitors.

"Whoa. Hey, man." Wyvern stated, getting Ami's attention. She turned to look at Wyvern and noticed he was stopped in front of a wall. She stopped walking and tilted her head in confusion, looking at Hayato to see his reaction. He was excited as always and looked up at the wall with a smile, confusing her. She looked at the wall again and felt her jaw drop in realization.

"Hmm?" The man said, turning around and looking down at the floor. He noticed Wyvern looking up at him with his usual stoic expression and noticed two people standing behind him. Hayato waved at him with excitement while the teenager behind him stared at him with wide eyes.

"He's so tall." Ami thought, realizing the wall Wyvern was looking up at wasn't actually a wall, but a man. A very animal-faced man. The most apparent feature Ami saw from his face was the large grey horn on the front. The man was at least 10 feet tall with grey muscular skin and an all blue outfit signaling his status as janitor. Most of all, his face resembled that of a rhinoceros. In fact, it was literally a rhino attached to the body of a man. Other than catching her off guard, she had to admit he looked cool. The rhinoceros-man flared his nostrils and looked at Wyvern questionably, turning around with a giant-sized mop in his hands.

"Is he the janitor?" Ami thought, staring wide eyed at the giant mop in his hands.

"Heh. I thought these floors were looking extra spotless today. Should've known it was you, big guy." Wyvern said, patting the giant man's leg with his hand.

"Hey, Nashorn." Hayato said, getting Ami's attention.

"Nashorn?" Ami repeated, saying the word in combination. Wyvern turned around and raised a finger at her in correction.

"Close. Nas-Horn. Two syllables." Wyvern said, correcting her pronunciation.

"Is that his name?" Ami whispered, getting a nod from Wyvern and Hayato. Ami nodded in understanding and looked up at the towering rhino with a less surprised smile. She raised her hand up and waved at him, being more friendly.

"Hello, Nashorn." She greeted, waving at him and saying his name better. Nashorn appreciated the effort and looked at her with eyes narrowed, seemingly staring into her soul.

"Guten Tag." He replied, confusing Ami.

"What?" She asked, getting a tug on her uniform by Hayato. She looked down at him and stared at his face.

"He's german." Hayato whispered, getting an appreciative nod from Ami.

"Who's the girl?" Nashorn asked, leaning down and staring at Wyvern.

"She's the UA student we were talking about." Wyvern whispered, making sure only Nashorn could hear it. Nashorn nodded and flared his nostrils, sending Wyvern's hair flying a little. Hayato and Ami both laughed a little at Wyvern's expense, making him stare at them with an unamused face.

"Is she looking for Backdraft?" Nashorn whispered, getting a nod from Wyvern.

"Yup." He answered, getting a stern look from the big man.

"Then why are you going this way?" He asked, making Wyvern pause for a second. Nashorn noticed his pause and scoffed, glaring down at him.

"What are you doing?" He questioned. Wyvern waved his hands up and smiled.

"Don't worry. I've got it all figured out. I just wanna check something out about her, really. Nothing too bad, I promise." Wyvern promised, flashing his teeth at the rhinoceros-man. Nashorn kept his glare up and slowly leaned upward, standing back up straight. He had his suspicions but decided not to investigate, trusting the stoic hero.

"...Hmph. Ich sah nichts." Nashorn said, making Wyvern catch his breath.

"Appreciate it, buddy." He grinned, giving the man a thumbs up.

"C'mon. Let's get moving." Wyvern said, waving at Ami and Hayato.

"Seeya, Nashorn!" Hayato waved, walking away with Wyvern.

"Seeya." Nashorn replied, he watched them leave and looked down to see Ami walking slowly behind. She looked up at him and bowed in respect.

"It was nice to meet you." She said, politely. He smiled at her words, making him flare his nostrils.

"Viel Glück." He replied, turning around and walking off with his mop in hand. Ami recognized the german language and darted her eyes left-and-right in confusion, not understanding what he said to her. She bowed one last time and wandered off, quickly catching up with Wyvern and Hayato. Nashorn watched her before carrying on with his work, hoping Wyvern would play nice.

Training Area - Room #1

"Alright, we're here." Wyvern said, entering inside a large empty room containing nothing. Ami and Hayato followed Wyvern inside, looking around the place. She looked around the empty room and watched as the lights on the ceiling automatically turned on. The room was decently sized, being just as big as the fighting arena in the Sports Festival. White lines were all over the floor, forming boundaries and borders. Her eyes darted around the room, quickly seeing everything inside. She stood in the center of the room and listened to the hum of the lights. She looked up at the ceiling lights and noticed just how tall the room was. It was at least three stories high. To the side of the lights were square vents that sent air into the room, keeping it nice and cozy inside. Below the vents were what she had at first thought were the walls. But in actuality, the second and third floors were covered entirely by darkened glass. She looked up at the windows and squinted her eyes in an attempt to see through them, but to no avail. The reflection of the ceiling lights combined with how dark the windows were made it impossible to see through. She could only assume the second and third floor windows were observation rooms, making her wonder if anyone was up there watching. Maybe, hopefully, Backdraft? Below the windows were the actual walls made of concrete but padded in orange pillows. It was probably so nobody got hurt in case they were slammed into the wall. There were some parts of the walls that weren't padded. The door was one of them. Next to the door was what also appeared to be a sliding door closet, storing who knows what. Looking back at Wyvern, she watched as he cleared his throat and started to speak.

"Alright, Ami. Welcome to Training Room #1." He said, spreading his arms out.

"Training Room #1? How many Training Rooms are there?" Ami questioned.

"There's 10 in total. We'll be renting out this room today." Wyvern answered, truthfully. Ami nodded her head in understanding before realizing she had yet to see Backdraft. She looked back at his stoic face and asked him.

"Where's Backdraft?" Ami asked, expecting an answer.

"Around." Wyvern quickly replied, getting a questionable look from Ami. He ignored the look on her face and glanced down at Hayato, walking over to him and putting his hand on the boy's helmet.

"Hey, Sparky. Why don't you go to the Food Area and get Ami some water?" Wyvern asked, getting a look from Hayato. The two made eye contact and stared at each other. Hayato narrowed his eyes in suspicion, analyzing Wyvern's stoic expression and seemingly understanding what he was planning.

"Are you gonna show her-?" He asked, quickly getting interrupted by Wyvern. He rubbed the top of his helmet, moving Hayato's head around.

"Don't worry. I'll go easy on her." Wyvern said, lowering his voice so only he could hear. Hayato kept his eyes narrowed in suspicion and slowly nodded his head.

"Okay." He said, following Wyvern's order. He turned around and headed towards the door.

"Oh, and get me some pretzels, too!" Wyvern ordered, watching Hayato open the door and leave. Ami watched Hayato leave in a hurry and raised her eyebrow in confusion.

"Hey. Where's Spark Plug going?" She asked. Wyvern turned around and saw the confusion on Ami's face as well as concern.

"Oh, he's going to the Food Area." He answered, truthfully. He looked up at the ceiling and clapped his hands all of a sudden.

"Computer. Lock down the doors to Training Room #1." Wyvern ordered, hearing an audible beep come from speakers in the ceiling.

"Locking down Training Room #1"

"Huh?" Ami flinched, getting startled by the sudden female voice over the intercom. She was caught off guard by the voice and looked up at the ceiling, noticing the speakers hidden in the corners of the room. She heard another beeping sound and looked down, staring at the door. A wall with orange pillows lifted up off the ground, covering the door and leaving them trapped inside. Ami looked at the secured door and narrowed her eyes, glaring at the stoic hero.

"What'd you do that for?" She questioned, tensing up a bit. The stoic expression on his face remained unchanged, concerning her just a bit more.

"Just for safety. Can't have anyone walk in and get hurt." He explained, making Ami raise her eyebrow at him.

"What does that mean?" She thought, letting her body tense up. She glared at him and kept a close eye on his movements, making eye contact with his stoic face.

"What is this about? I thought you were taking me to Backdraft?" She asked, receiving a tiny frown from his lips for just a split second.

"Don't worry, kid. I'm sure Backdraft can wait a few minutes." He said, causing Ami to glare harder at him. She placed her hands on her hips and looked at Wyvern with an intense glare, slightly unnerving the stoic hero and making him pause.

"What do you mean he can wait?" She asked, glaring into his eyes with suspicion. Wyvern kept up his stoic face while Ami calmed herself down. She flared her nostrils and crossed her arms together, forming another question.

"You were never going to take me to Backdraft, were you?" She accused, raising her eye at him in an accusatory glance. Wyvern looked at her in silence while she stared back at him with an annoyed glare. A few seconds of staring, Wyvern's facade broke, flaring his nostrils and grinning at her.

"Heh. And where was this attitude when Sparky lied to you?" Wyvern asked, grinning smugly. Ami's eyes narrowed in confusion at his smug grin.

"He's a kid. He just wanted to show me around. But you're an adult, I thought you were taking me to Backdraft, not kidnapping me." Ami said, making Wyvern chuckle out loud.

"Kidnapping? Good one." He smiled, shaking his head at her in amusement. He remembered exactly what he said to her and raised his finger up in protest.

"Though, to be fair, I never said I was taking you to Backdraft." Wyvern defended himself, raising his pointer finger up. Ami leaned her head back in confusion and thought about it.

"Yes, you di-"

"You asked where he was. All I said was, follow me, not follow me to Backdraft." Wyvern explained, making Ami glare at him in disapproval. All she wanted to do was find Backdraft and now she was caught up in whatever game this hero she's never seen before was playing. She stared at his stoic face and flared her nostrils, letting out a defeated sigh.

"Ugh. Whatever. Why are we in here?" She groaned, giving up on complaining. There was still plenty of daylight left to find Backdraft. Wyvern flashed a satisfied grin and nodded slowly.

"I was getting to that part. To be honest, when I was at the Sports Festival, I didn't think much of you until later. When Backdraft told me he knew you and your brother, I thought, okay, this might be interesting. Then I saw what you did with your quirk and, I'll admit, it was…impressive." He admitted, surprising Ami with the compliment. She paused and stumbled a bit, processing the compliment.

"Oh, uh, thanks." She said, accepting the compliment. She stumbled back a bit and let her body relax, feeling less uneasy about the hero. She felt a little bad for not knowing who he really was. Wyvern looked at the awkward reaction he got from her and continued.

"So, when Backdraft told me he was going to submit a draft to get you to intern with him, I thought, what better time to learn?" Wyvern explained. Ami stared at his stoic face and brushed aside a loose strand of her hair, nodding in acknowledgment.

"So that's why you brought me here. You want to know about my quirk?" She hypothesized, getting a thumbs up from the stoic hero.

"Uh huh. I wanna know all about it. What you do with it. How you do it. And, what do you want to do with it?" Wyvern explained, getting a nod from Ami in understanding. His questions seemed simple enough. Still, the fact she had to deal with another delay in meeting Backdraft made her impatient. She looked at Wyvern and sighed.

"Will you take me to Backdraft after this?" Ami asked, receiving a nod from Wyvern.

"If he hasn't already found us by the time we're done, then, yeah. I'll take you to him. No tricks." Wyvern promised, getting a nod from Ami. She sighed and let her nervousness relax, clearing her throat.

"Okay. Where should I start?" She asked, making Wyvern smirk slightly.

"Let's start with the basics. What's the name of your quirk?" He asked, folding his arms together.

Well, my quirk is called Flame Catcher." Ami answered, catching Wyvern's interest.

"Flame Catcher? Interesting." He commented, nodding his head along in understanding, "So, what's this Flame Catcher do?" Wyvern asked, turning around and facing the door.

"Well, it-" Ami said before stopping herself. She lowered her eyebrows and watched Wyvern open up the closet door on the wall.

"What're you doing?" She asked in confusion. She caught a glimpse of what was inside and noticed some disassembled gear hanging on the wall.

"Just grabbing something. Keep talking." Wyvern encouraged, making Ami proceed with her explanation.

"Okay, so, basically, I have a special organ in my body that produces fire, allowing me to breathe fire. But, it also works as a vacuum. I can collect outside flames in my environment and use them to boost my natural flames. I can also redirect the flames to go to any part of my body, but that's the most I can do there." She elaborated, gripping the area above her stomach. Wyvern heard the details and nodded along, grabbing hold of two sticks.

"Interesting. But breathing fire isn't the only thing you can do, isn't it?" He asked, turning his head towards her.

"I guess not." She said, shrugging her shoulders. She understood where he was getting at and continued to explain.

"When I inhale enough flames from my environment, my natural fire gets stronger. First, it turns blue. Then after that, I start making plasma. And then, instead of flames…"

"You make a plasma beam. A laser." He said, finishing her sentence.

"Yeah." She nodded.

"So, without any boost, how strong do your flames get?" Wyvern asked, holding the two sticks in his hand. He closed the closet door and turned all the way around, facing Ami.

"Not enough to turn blue or create plasma on its own yet." Ami answered in a slightly disappointed tone. Wyvern caught the tone of her voice and noticed her body language.

"I see. So does that, "yet," mean you plan on working on it?" Wyvern asked.

"Yeah…Eventually." Ami nodded, hopeful that she could achieve it. She clenched her fists and stood firm, finding her confidence. Wyvern could tell she was trying to hype herself up, impressing him even more.

"Alright then." Wyvern said, getting her to look up.

"Let's get started." He said, raising his two hands forward.

"Wait? What?" Ami stuttered in surprise. She was apprehensive about fighting a hero without Backdraft's supervision.

"Didn't Sparky tell you you can use your quirk here in the Training Area?" Wyvern questioned, looking at Ami with his eyebrow raised.

"Yeah, but… Shouldn't I change into my hero costume first?" She asked, looking for an excuse to slow things down. Wyvern knew what she was doing and waved his hand at her, brushing the question off.

"No need. We're not actually fighting. Just want to test a theory of mine out." Wyvern answered, grabbing one stick in each hand.

"What kinda theory?" Ami asked, watching as Wyvern slammed the two sticks together into one long staff.

"Wait. You're using weapons?" She asked, looking at the staff in Wyvern's hand with concern.

"Uh huh. But that ain't all." Wyvern grinned, knowing what he was about to do next. He concentrated and cleared his head, communicating with his quirk.

"Showtime." He said, feeling flames begin to shoot out of his neck. Ami saw the flames appear behind his neck and raised her eyebrow at him with curiosity.

"His fire. It came out of his neck." She thought, watching flames trickle out. Wyvern concentrated and relaxed his body, letting the flames travel down and around his neck. He watched as the flames slowly enveloped his shoulders and started to move down his chest before he interfered.

"Let's only go Full Arm this time." Wyvern said, getting Ami's attention. She heard the comment and tilted her head slightly in confusion. Was he talking to himself? She didn't have time to question that as the flames retreated from his chest and stayed on his shoulders, moving down to both of his arms. She could feel the heat of his flames from where she stood and looked on in awe. It was strange how slow the flames were moving around on him, making her wonder what kinda flame quirk he had.

After covering both his arms in flames, Ami looked on in awe as the flames spread onto the staff he held firmly in his grip. Eventually lighting the entire staff on fire. There was something off about how the flames moved around Wyvern's body. It was slow, sluggish, and shifting around a lot, piquing Ami's curiosity.

"How does he make his fire move like that? Is his quirk some kind of pyrokinesis? If so, why is he purposely making the flames move so slow down his neck?" Ami thought, her mind racing with questions. She stared at the burning staff and gulped a bit.

"He isn't actually going to hit me with that staff, right?" She wondered, looking nervous.

"Are you sure this is okay to do right now?" Ami asked in a nervous voice. Wyvern broke his stoic expression and made a small grin in assurance.

"Don't worry, I won't hit you. The reason I'm holding the staff is because of the challenge I've got for you." Wyvern explained, getting Ami's attention. She looked at Wyvern and narrowed her eyes, erasing the nervousness inside of her.

"A challenge? What is it?" Ami asked, getting somewhat interested. Wyvern grinned deviously at her question.

"That's the spirit, kid. I want you to inhale my flames." Wyvern smirked, solemnly.

"What?" Ami questioned, looking at Wyvern in a strange way.

"You heard me." He said, making himself clear.

"But you just set your staff on fire. Why would you want me to swallow the flames?" She asked, wanting an explanation.

"It's all part of the theory of mine. It'll make sense. Trust me." Wyvern said, getting an unsure look from Ami.

"Um. Okay." She said, narrowing her eyes and clenching her fists. She stared at the flaming staff and had several thoughts go through her head.

"Inhale my flames? This is a trick. He's definitely going to throw that staff at me." She thought, tensing her body. She focused her mind and stared at Wyvern, pondering his plan.

"This has to be a trick. There's no way he's just gonna let me swallow the flames from his quirk after showing off like that. What's his plan? What's he thinking?" She thought, looking at Wyvern's face.

He sported a devious grin on his face that set off several alarms in her head. He was definitely planning something. Whatever trick he was playing on her was uncertain but she was sure that staff definitely had a role in it.

"C'mon, kid. I wanna see you try and inhale this." Wyvern grinned, causing Ami to glare at him. She clenched her fists and stood her ground. She put away her thoughts and focused on the upcoming fight. He was up to something but she didn't know what. Having enough time thinking, she decided to roll with it and activated her quirk. She felt the flames rise up from her flame organ and enter her mouth. The glow from the flames lit up her neck, causing Wyvern to smile wider.

"There it is. Get ready, Fuego." Wyvern said, getting Ami's attention. She put on a stoic expression as she thought over what he just said.

"Fuego?" Ami questioned internally. Her mind drifted to the nickname Kacchan would call her and felt a bit of confusion hit her.

"Who's Fuego? What's he saying?" She thought, shaking her head and brushing it off.

"Ignore it for now, Ami. He's just messing around with you again." Ami thought, focusing back into the fight. Ami glanced at the fire and watched the tip of the staff kindle for a second, bursting into a larger flame for a couple seconds. She didn't know if her mind was playing tricks on her but she could've sworn she saw something in that small burst of flame.

She scoffed and flashed her teeth, showing off the small bit of smoke flying out between her teeth. No more delays. It was now or never. She opened her mouth wide open and inhaled, activating her quirk. Wyvern grinned and started to feel the pull. He looked at the staff and watched as the flames were pulled away. Only they weren't going anywhere. The flames were pulling towards Ami but refused to leave the staff, struggling to stay attached. Ami saw the flames react in an unexpected way towards her quirk and felt her eyes go wide open. That's not supposed to happen. Ever.

"What? How? The flames...they aren't flying towards me? But- how? This shouldn't be possible. Not even Endeavor could-..." Ami thought, staring incredulously at the flame. She then heard Wyvern chuckling at her, causing a scowl to form on her face. Her face went slightly red in embarrassment as she stared at Wyvern's laughing.

"He's laughing at me. This was what he wanted. I dont know how he's doing it, but he's resisting Flame Catcher. I need to try harder." Ami thought, forcing herself to concentrate even harder. Wyvern watched her continue to try to inhale his flames and felt a stronger pull towards her, stopping his chuckling. His shoes skidded slightly across the floor as his flames tried to stick to him.

"Whoa." Wyvern said, positioning himself to hold his ground better. Wyvern looked at the struggling flames slowly detaching off his staff and thought of a comparison. It was like stepping on a piece of gum on a road. The road being the staff, the flames being the gum, and Ami the shoe. He could feel the flames on his neck start to thin as he struggled to hold on, making Wyvern start to laugh in amazement.

"Incredible. She's making you work for it, Fuego. Haha." He laughed, talking to seemingly no one. The struggling flames restructured itself onto the staff, reconstituting at the very tip of the staff. The flames created a giant fire bubble on the tip of the staff as Ami tried desperately to inhale it. Ami had heard Wyvern mention Fuego again and noticed the connection with his flames.

"Did he just call his flames, Fuego? What does that even me-" Ami cut herself off when she noticed something really strange in the ball of fire that gathered on the tip of the staff. She watched as the shape of the ball of fire morphed. She felt her pupils dilate a bit at the fire, feeling her stomach churnn at the sight of the fire. It was changing, reforming, transforming, whatever you call it, it was moving. Ami watched in awe as the fire bubble collapsed in on itself, creating a shape within the fire. The sounds of fire changed into strange guttural growls, confusing her and making her heart speed up. She tried to make sense of the growls and assumed it was Wyvern. However, the slightly concerned sneer on his face proved otherwise. She felt goosebumps shoot through her body as the growling continued, getting louder and closer. She looked back up at the flames resisting her quirk and felt her eyes widen with horror. The growls were coming from the flames. The hovering mass of flames shifted once more, seemingly twisting and turning into a more anatomical shape.

"What?" She thought, feeling overcome with a strange sense of fear. The hovering mass of flames opened its eyes, glaring down at her menacingly with glowing red eyeballs of pure anger. The goosebumps intensified even more as Ami and the flames stared at each other. The flames tilted its head slightly to the right, continuing to growl at her. This time, more features began to take shape, starting with the lips. The lips formed at the front, hissing at her with aggression as its jaws constructed itself. Her pupils shrunk in terror as a set of razor-sharp teeth formed in its jaws, snarling at her like a hungry wolf. Or a lizard. The shape of its flames started to resemble a lizard. Hissing, growling, and flaring its fully formed nostrils at her. A multi horned crest shape formed above its two glowing red eyes, giving it a monstrous form composed of fire. It was unlike anything Ami had ever seen before. Now she understood why his hero name was Wyvern. What was staring down at her with death in its eyes was almost certainly a flaming wyvern.

The fear she felt at that moment did no favors, feeling her legs shake under the weight of its effective intimidation tactics. Her fight or flight instincts kicked in at that moment, making her whole body clench up with fear. Unfortunately, her body had made the decision before her brain. Her throat quivered rapidly, making her stop. The flames in her mouth near instantly retreated, lodging itself along the walls of her throat. She yelped a bit at the feeling, gulping down her flames and sending it down the wrong pipe. Her eyes bulged out with fear as she brought a hand to her throat, feeling smoke enter her lungs.

The deactivation of her quirk was too late as smoke filled her lungs. She coughed and gagged, losing her balance and dropping to the floor. Her legs still trembled with fear, acting as if she was still being preyed upon. She could barely keep her eyes open as smoke poured out of her mouth, gagging uncontrollably.

Wyvern watched her coughing fit from across the room and gritted his teeth, feeling his heart sink. He glared at the mass of flames and whistled to get its attention. With Ami's quirk out of the way, the strain the flaming wyvern had on preventing its flames from entering her mouth disappeared. The effect of her quirk sent the flaming wyvern back into the staff, shrinking in size. Hearing the whistle sound from Wyvern, the flames turned around and glared at him. Wyvern glared back at the flames without any fear and dropped his staff on the floor, hearing it clatter.

"Fuego!" Wyvern shouted with authority. The flames snarled at him and felt its range decrease with the loss of the staff, forcing it to retreat into Wyvern's hands. The flames growled one last time before losing its wyvern shape and covering his hand. Two glowing eyes were all that was left in the palm of Wyvern's hand. He glared at it as it glared at him and clenched his fist tightly. He concentrated and forced the flames to retreat, moving away from his hand and returning back into his neck. He took a deep breath and closed his eyes, mentally conversing with the living flames. He sighed and unclenched his fists, opening his eyes and looking across the room at Ami's body.

"Oh shit." Wyvern panicked, quickly running straight towards Ami.

Ami lied on the floor, coughing up smoke in distress. She coughed as hard as she could, unsettling her empty stomach. She barely had time to register what had just happened as she worked through the uncomfortable pain. She panted heavily in exhaustion, feeling weak from her gagging. She tried to get in control of herself and took deep breaths only to end up coughing out more smoke. A few seconds later, her eyes were shot wide open as the shape of the flames entered her mind.

"What the hell was that?!" Her voice screamed inside her mind. She heard rushed movement and hesitantly looked up, flinching a bit when she saw Wyvern running towards her. She glanced back down at the ground and continued to cough out the rest of the smoke. Wyvern grimaced and quickly squatted down to her level, patting his hand on her back in an area that provided relief to her smoke filled lungs. She appreciated the friendly gesture and the helping hand, allowing it to continue. She made note of his expertise while patting her back, making her wonder how much he's done this before.

"You okay, Kid?" Wyvern asked, worriedly. Ami panted in exhaustion from the coughing fit and glanced at Wyvern with a freaked out expression, making him feel worse. She looked at his concerned frown and shook her head while panting heavily.

"Y-yeah...I'm fine..." Ami said, coughing out smoke with a strained voice. She tried to take deep breaths but kept gagging on more smoke. Wyvern narrowed his eyes in sympathy, feeling guilty. He kept patting her back with his hand until he felt a burning sensation on his neck. He placed his hand away and rubbed at his neck, appearing more annoyed. He looked down at Ami and frowned, taking a deep breath and sighing.

"Ami. I'm sorry." He apologized, patting his clothes in admittal. Ami heard the apology and muttered unintelligible sounds before coughing out more smoke, unable to reply. Wyvern stared at her writhing on the floor and continued to frown.

"Crap." He whispered, swiping his hand through his hair.

"I screwed up. That wasn't how I wanted to introduce him to you." He admitted, looking back down at Ami with remorse. Ami heard the hurt in his voice and looked up at his face, noticing his facial features. It was strange. The stoic expression on his face was absent, instead replaced by emotions like sadness, guilt, and regret. His apology confused her, however. She tried to make sense of it while her lungs were still clouded. His last sentence repeated inside her mind.

"That wasn't how I wanted to introduce him to you." His voice echoed inside her head.

"Him?" Ami repeated, questioning his choice of words. She narrowed her eyes and thought about the shape of the flames. The red eyes and the growling played in her head, sending chills up her spine. The flames weren't just flames. It was alive. He was alive. Her eyes widened in realization as a large puff of smoke exited her mouth, allowing her a chance to speak.

"Your quirk. It's sentient." Ami blurted out in exhaustion, placing her hand on her throat. Wyvern was caught off guard by the comment and nodded in response. Smoke emitted out the back of his neck as she said that, startling her again. Wyvern felt the smoke and covered his neck with his hand.

"Hey! Hey! Relax! We underestimated her, okay?" Wyvern shouted, patting his neck and clenching his fist in anger at nothing. If anyone else had witnessed him yelling at nothing, they would have thought he was crazy. Wyvern scratched at his neck and grunted in discomfort as the burning sensation reappeared.

"Oh. Real mature." He grunted, rubbing aggressively at his neck while Ami watched in confusion on the floor.

"Are you okay?" She asked in an exhausted voice.

"Nope. Not at all." He ordered, letting his voice get raspy. Ami watched his actions and frowned, feeling bad at what was happening to him. She didn't understand what was going on exactly, but she could tell that Wyvern's quirk was seemingly hurting him, making her question the extent of his abilities.

"His quirk is affecting his neck? Is he not immune to his own fire? Or is it because it's sentient? Can he decide when it hurts?" Ami thought, questioning the hero's quirk inside her mind. Taking a deep breath, she made one final cough and got all the smoke out of her lungs, composing herself. She looked down at the floor and put her hands on it, pushing her body off the floor. Eventually, she lifted her knee and slowly stood all the way up, adjusting her clothes and brushing the dirt off her school uniform.

She glanced back at Wyvern who was currently having the time of his life dealing with what his sentient quirk was inflicting on him. The tables had turned in a way she hadn't intended. Before, it was her that was writhing on the floor in discomfort. Now, it was Wyvern writhing in discomfort.

She watched him flail around on the floor and frowned, feeling bad for him. This wasn't what she was expecting when learning about the stoic hero's quirk. In fact, it wasn't at all what she imagined. She knew it was fire, but not literal living fire.

Looking at Wyvern started to remind her of Tokoyami and Dark Shadow. The only difference between them being that Wyvern and his quirk were apparently more dysfunctional. Severely dysfunctional. She focused on the small flames around his neck and felt a little bit of dejavu go through her head. The way the flames appeared reminded her of an older friend of hers. Returning to reality, she watched Wyvern with an unsure feeling. She wanted to help, but she was unsure how to help. Clearly, any attempts to use her quirk on him would end badly. Fortunately, the squirming had stopped a minute later. Wyvern laid there on the floor panting with sweat falling down his face. The flames retreated back into his neck. Ami kept her eyes on him and watched as his face returned to its usual stoic expression, making eye contact with her.

"Feel better?" Wyvern asked, looking at Ami like nothing had happened. Ami looked at him with a dumbfounded expression.

"How could he ignore what just happened to himself?" Ami thought, wondering how frequent this was for him.

"Are you ok-"

"Kay?" Wyvern said, finishing her sentence. He flared his nostrils and raised his hand up, waving it side-to-side.

"I'm good. Fuego just needed to blow off some steam. But I hate it when he does that." Wyvern explained, confusing her even more.

"Fuego?" She repeated, raising an eyebrow at the word.

"It's Spanish." Wyvern explained. Ami narrowed her eyes and shook her head in response.

"I know what Fuego means. I meant, what is that? His name?" She asked, wondering what was happening to him.

"Yeah. That's his name." Wyvern nodded, wiping off sweat from his face.

"So, he's not going to hurt you again, is he?" Ami asked, showing more concern for him. Wyvern shrugged and shook his head in response, dispelling her concern.

"No. No. We're good. We talked it through." He said, making Ami go silent. He looked at her confused expression and sighed, lifting his head up off the ground.

"In my head." Wyvern said, pointing at his head, "We can communicate inside my head." He explained, getting a nod in understanding from Ami.

"Oh." She said. Wyvern took the time to stand up and started adjusting his costume, brushing off the wrinkles caused by rolling on the floor.

"The peace offering was Pretzels." Wyvern stated, "Which… Sparky should be back by now." Wyvern said, clapping three times.

"Computer-" Wyvern exclaimed, causing Ami's eyes to widen in realization.

"Woah. Woah. Wait." Ami said, interrupting him. Wyvern stopped talking and looked at Ami in confusion.

"What?" He asked.

"Are you really going to ignore what just happened? Not even an explanation?" Ami questioned, raising her hands up in confusion. Wyvern looked at her face and understood the confusion, turning around and scratching the back of his head, nodding in agreement. He knew she was right and deserved an explanation.

"Right, yeah. I owe you some answers. Or, well, Fuego and I." Wyvern said.

"He can hurt you?" Ami asked, crossing her arms together.

"Yeah. Real pain in the neck about it, too." He answered, making a joke.

"Why?" Ami asked, frowning in concern.

"Don't worry, my skin's fireproof, so I'm going to be okay."

"He's fireproof, but it still hurt?"

"You seem to be handling this okay? Not many people can hide how freaked they get after seeing Fuego like that." Wyvern asked, noticing how quickly she had recovered.

"It was…surprising, and terrifying. But, it's not something I haven't seen before…sort of."

"Sort of?" Wyvern thought, picking up on the implication of her words. He flared his nostrils in amusement and grinned.

"Pfft. Right." He grinned, quickly returning to his stoic expression.

"So, why was he burning your neck?" Ami asked, making Wyvern look away from her to hide his remaining guilt.

"Well, he's pissed I almost let you eat him." He answered, making Ami scoff at the answer. She stepped back and scrunched up her face in confusion.

"Huh? Eat him? But I-I wasn't trying to-…wait, that was your fault! You said you had a theory. You made me use my quirk on him." Ami pointed out, glaring at him in betrayal. Wyvern nodded at her reaction, understanding her anger.

"Yeah. That's my fault, but, thankfully. He took it out on me, instead of you." He said, brushing off her anger.

"That's what that neck burning was?" She asked, getting another nod from the stoic hero.

"Yup."

"Could you tell him, I'm sorry?" Ami said, making Wyvern pause. He tilted his head slightly and looked at her in confusion for a split second. He looked down at the ground and coughed a little, hiding his surprised expression.

"He can hear you." He admitted, making Ami's eyes widen in surprise.

"He can?" Ami asked, getting a nod from the stoic hero.

"Fuego, why don't you come out and reintroduce yourself?" Wyvern requested. Ami watched as fire sprouted out from the back of his neck, slowly moving towards his left shoulder. The flames shifted around his shoulder, entering the extra fabric drooping on it. Sure enough, the fabric lifted itself up. Ami looked on in silence as her previous thought about his costume came true. His extra fabric was really just a blanket. Two red eyes appeared in the darkness of the fabric. Ami gasped at its small size, appearing like a hooded parrot on Wyvern's shoulder. It was hard to believe this was the same dragon that nearly scared her to death.

"You." The small shoulder dragon snarled in a surprisingly deep voice for something so small. The anger in his voice surprised Ami, making her body tense up again.

"You tried to eat me." He growled, flashing his razor sharp teeth. Ami looked at the small hooded shoulder dragon and gulped, feeling her heartbeat.

"I'm sorry. It won't happen again. I promise." She sweared, bowing at him in apology. Fuego glared at her and continued to growl, making Wyvern roll his eyes.

"Give her a break, Fuego. It's your fault for letting it happen." He said, making Fuego mad.

"You said she wouldn't be able to eat me." Fuego growled, turning his attention to Wyvern's face.

"It was only a theory. But now we know she can affect living flames, too." Wyvern said, nodding his head in satisfaction. He glared back at Fuego and crossed his arms with a stern look.

"You also owe Ami an apology." He said, making Fuego scoff. He flared his nostrils and snarled in defiance.

"Why?" He demanded.

"For scaring the crap out of her and making her gag on her flames. Now apologize or else." Wyvern demanded. The flames on Fuego's body intensified, sending a puff of smoke into the air in anger. Ami watched Fuego slowly turn towards her and make eye contact, looking at her with an annoyed expression. He growled for a few seconds and rolled his red eyes, looking away from her.

"Sorry-" Wyvern repeated, wanting him to say her name. The hooded wyvern rolled its eyes in frustration, flaring its nostrils.

"Sorry, Ami." He apologized, reluctantly. Ami smiled a little at his apology, nodding her head in acceptance.

"It's okay. It's all Wyvern's fault anyway for not telling me about you." Ami said, smiling at the hooded dragon.

"Hehe." Fuego chuckled, making Wyvern glare at the hooded dragon on his shoulder.

"Mhm." Wyvern said, putting on a stoic expression to hide his unamused annoyance. He shook his head and shrugged his shoulders, looking up at the ceiling.

"Anyways. Computer, unlock Training Room #1." Wyvern said, clapping three times.

"Unlocking Training Room #1."

Ami watched as the wall that covered the door slowly retreated back into the floor, hearing mechanical sounds go off as the door unlocked. Almost immediately, the door opened up with Hayato's face peeking inside.

"Finally." Hayato exclaimed, rushing into the room. He made eye contact with Ami and waved at her, receiving a smile from her in return.

"Hey, Sparky." Wyvern said, watching his approach. Hayato heard the nickname and glared at the stoic hero.

"Spark Plug." Hayato whined, correcting him.

"And I was standing out there for five minutes." Hayato said, pouting.

"Sorry, kid. I was introducing her to Fuego." He explained, piquing Hayato's interest. He looked at Wyvern's shoulder and noticed Fuego was staring at him blankly.

"Oh. Hey, Fuego." Hayato waved, looking at the hooded dragon on Wyvern's shoulder.

"Spark Plug." Fuego greeted, nodding his head at the small child.

"Ami. What did you think about Fuego? Isn't he super cool!"

"Hmph. Yeah. I wish I had gotten a heads up, though." Ami said, slightly rubbing at her throat. The smoke had caused her throat to feel itchy. She hoped it would go away soon and sighed, smiling at Hayato.

"Hey, you got the pretzels. Good job, kid." Wyvern said, grabbing the bag out of Hayato's hand. He peered inside the bag and saw the pretzels, licking his lips with hunger. He paused however when he noticed an item was missing in the bag.

"Didn't I tell you to get her some water?" Wyvern asked, frowning in disapproval. Hayato turned around and looked at Wyvern with a happy smile.

"Hehe. I did." He laughed, looking back at the door.

"Hey, Ami. Look who I found!" Hayato said, getting Ami's attention. He pointed at the door and nodded in accomplishment, getting her eyes to look at the door. Wyvern turned his head towards the door along with Fuego and watched as a figure entered the room. Ami watched him enter and gasped, feeling her heart stop with joy.

"Backdraft!" Ami said, putting her hands up to her mouth. Backdraft looked at her and nodded, tipping his fire helmet at her in respect.

"Hiya, kid." Backdraft greeted, looking at everyone in the room. He made his way towards the center of the room until he was in front of Ami. Wyvern stepped back a bit and gave the two space, smiling lightly.

"It's been a while, hasn't it?" Backdraft said, looking down at her with his pipe hands behind his back. Ami nodded her head excitedly and tried to control herself, overjoyed at finally being face-to-face with him.

"I got you something." Backdraft said, moving his hands away from his back. He brought one hand forward and raised it up. Ami looked down at his pipe hand and smiled, noticing the bottle of water held in his watery hand. She looked at the water with happiness, reaching her hand out and taking it.

"Thank you, Backdraft. Sir." Ami thanked, nodding her head in respect. She adjusted her stance and stood up straight, trying to appear professional despite her excitement. Backdraft smiled, nodding his head in amusement.

"You're welcome." He said. He glanced at the other two, no, three people in the room and nodded at them in thanks.

"Thanks for taking care of her." Backdraft praised, glancing at Hayato. Hayato smiled at the praise, feeling proud. Wyvern abd Fuego glanced at each other for a split second and shrugged, accepting the praise. Backdraft looked back at Ami and stood tall.

"Ami Midoriya. Welcome to my internship. I'm glad to have you." Backdraft said, spreading his arms out wide.

Author's Notes:

Hello everyone! I hope you enjoyed reading chapter 30. Not only am I back but this chapter marks a special occasion. This is the 20th chapter of season 2 uploaded, meaning season 2 is now double the amount of chapters of season 1.

It has been a while again. Sorry about that, but after reading the reviews and the encouragement I received from several different people, I took it easy in the writing. I'm satisfied with how the chapter turned out, although there are only some slight problems I have with it. This has more to do with how I write in general. When I write this story, I write with the expectation that people have watched the show. Since I've seen no complaints about this, that means everyone who reads this story has the show available to them or can picture it in their heads. That is the problem with my writing.

I've been very lax on describing location because everyone knows what it looks like because of the tv show. You could probably notice this issue of mine if you look back at how I describe the location of Kurogiri's breakout. Writing this chapter, I knew that would be a big issue. Its a whole new setting that doesn't exist in the show at all. That's why I tried my best to describe the look of the Museum on the outside and the inside. It was pretty hard to describe for me sadly. It just shows that I need to work on that part. So I apologize if my way of describing the layout of the Museum was confusing. My other problem is I can easily picture it inside my head, but writing it down sucks cuz I don't know half of the words to describe what I want to describe. Anyways, if you have trouble imagining the museum with my words just picture a museum you've been in. Or just imagine the Museum in Night at the Museum. I got a lot of inspiration for the interiors from that movie.

Other than that, there are some parts I feel were rushed a little but it was necessary to advance the plot and I wanted to introduce the most important characters. I will most definitely work on editing to make things clearer about the location and detail. Now, before I get into what this chapter was about, I want to talk more about behind the scenes.

October has come and a lot of stuff released. I watched the new Halloween movie a few days ago and it was alright. Way back in July, I actually started watching a very popular anime for the first time. In my Author's notes for Season 2 Chapter 4 Roaring Sport's Festival aka Chapter 14, I mentioned that I had never watched Naruto before. Basically, I had the barest minimum of knowledge about what goes on in Naruto. That has now changed because I started watching Naruto. I started back in July. I haven't actually watched more of Naruto since now and then but I atleast started it. I stopped after the Zabuza arc which isn't very far since there's hundreds of episodes but its a start at least.

Anyway, college is busy as usual. It's been taking time away from writing but I've reached a good balance. There's other stuff I've been watching like Spy x Family. I love the series and think it's funny. Another show that came out recently is Chainsaw Man. I like it so far but I've only had time to watch the first episode. And, can't forget, My Hero Academia is back on air. This season so far has been amazing as always. I can't wait to see what happens next! That's pretty much all I've been watching these days and where my time has been focused lately. Anyways, onto the chapter.

By now, if you haven't read the new version of Chapter 29, then please go read it as it's very important for what's going on in this chapter and in the upcoming chapters. As I was saying, this chapter serves as an introduction to the setting and several new characters. Wyvern is the first new major character I added to the story, he'll have a role to play in the future.

The chapter brought an end to a question I've been waiting to answer for a long time. That is, what is Wyvern's quirk? I've made very big hints to what it is over the chapters so I hope everyone has had fun figuring it out. Though, since no one ever correctly guessed it, looking back at the other chapters will make it much more obvious. The closest anyone got was on Archive of our own. To my reader there, you were the warmest with your guess.

Wyvern does transform into a fire lizard. Although, it's not in a way everyone was thinking. Wyvern himself doesn't turn into a dragon, his flames do. Yes, his quirk is sentient like Tokoyami's. And no, it's not exactly the same as Dark Shadow. If you have questions about Fuego, then please ask me in the reviews. I will answer them in the next chapter. I've had this character idea ever since I introduced him at the beginning of the Sports Festival. It's great that I can finally reveal what it is now. I hope you enjoy reading more about Wyvern and Fuego as more chapters are released later.

The second new character I introduced started off this chapter. His name is Hayato Ishida and he's 10 years old. He's an overly excited child with an intense desire to become a hero in the future. His quirk will be explained in a later chapter but I'm sure you can easily guess what it is based on his makeshift hero costume as well as his hero name, Spark Plug.

Another new character introduced in this chapter was Nashorn. A giant of a man with the face of a rhinoceros. He's got a deep voice but he's actually very friendly. There'll be more of him later on.

Lastly, we have Backdraft. A character that has not had a single bit of screen time since his appearance in the first couple episodes of My Hero Academia. Since he doesn't have much of a character to begin with, he's basically a new character. Obviously, he will have a major part of this story arc.

Once again, if you read chapter 29, you'll know in the new Author's Notes that this chapter had a very different start. Now you know the reason the beginning of chapter 29 was so different. Flashing back to the Ravage Incident didn't end up working as the beginning of this new chapter since It would be cutting immediately to the introduction of Hayato and his first time meeting Ami Midoriya.

The exchange Hayato had with Ami was meant to show his shy nature upon first meeting someone and how quickly he'll open up when he learns something about them that he finds exciting. I've also hinted at something more about his quirk and gloves, be sure to guess what in the reviews.

What is Wyvern doing? Wyvern's interest in Ami was simply to see what would happen if she tried to eat Fuego. Of course, that's not all of it. But it was a big reason for him to justify leading her to the Training Room. His stoic face comes in pretty handy for looking intimidating, but he's not too bad. There's still plenty more to learn about Wyvern, Fuego, and Hayato. Right now, I hope you enjoyed the chapter and the introduction to these new characters.

Next chapter will be called: Ami's Internship Part 2. I know that sounds like I split the chapter again but I didn't. Having two parts was always my intention. The next chapter after Part 2 won't be titled Part 3.

Thanks for waiting so patiently to see this chapter, I hope it satisfies for now as the bulk will be in the next chapter. I've already started production on it and I hope to have it out before Thanksgiving, but it is a lot so no promises.

Part of me likes to believe I removed any obvious mistakes in continuity but I still have some paranoia. Please please please send me questions in reviews. I want to know what all of you think about the new chapter and the new characters. Please tell me what you think about Wyvern, Fuego, Nashorn, and Hayato. If you see any mistakes like spelling, grammar, or continuity errors, please tell me. Have a good October everybody and have a happy Halloween! Thanks for reading and have a good day!

Next Chapter: Ami's Internship Part 2

After reuniting with Backdraft, Ami learns what's in store for her internship and begins her training.

Edit: Hayato's hair color might have changed a couple times during the process of writing the chapter so please point it out to me if I describe it as any color.
