5: You Fail – Kakashi's Final Decision!
Suiren Uzumaki: The disclaimer: I do not own Naruto cause if I did then Sakura wouldn't be a useless fangirl in pre-shippuden, and Naruto would have his father's smarts while keeping his mother's personality and knows about seals and how to use to them. I do, however, own Ryurama Senju, Yuki Senju nee Miran, Raika Miran (Senju), & the White Tiger Summoning Contract (A/N: If there is already a White Tiger Summoning Contract…then please ignore the last part). Remember to Read and Review to let me know what you think. Also, if you don't like any twist that I might make then stop reading and find something else to read plus don't leave a review that's a flame or I will find a way to block you. Ja ne!
...My Line...
'Way to go Sasuke,' the Miran thought. 'You just killed log.' She let out a sigh before the two-pre-teen going towards where she knew Sakura was. 'But, at least now we know where he is.'
...My Line...
'A substitution jutsu,' Sasuke thought in anger. 'Now he knows where I am.' The Uchiha moved through the trees. 'I got to move fast.' Sasuke picked up speed. 'I thought he lowered his guard, but he did that on purpose, and I fell for it.'
…My Line…
'So that's where he is,' Kakashi thought. 'Hahaha.'
…My Line…
The greenette let out a sigh of annoyances when she felt Sakura chakra moving away from the clearing meaning that she was looking for Sasuke.
'What is wrong with those two?' she thought as she looked over to Naruto. "Haruno is on the move."
"That means that she is looking for Sasuke-teme," the blonde said as he looked thoughtful.
"Yup."
The two friends, who are unaware of being cousins, shared a look with each other of annoyance before they picked up the pace.
...My Line...
'Sasuke where are you?' Sakura thought was she moved through the forest. 'Don't tell me that Kakashi-sensei found him. No! He can't capture my Sasuke. I won't let him.' Sakura dropped to her knees when she saw Kakashi standing there reading his book. 'He didn't hear me. I'm safe.'
"Sakura behind you," Kakashi whispered in her ear.
Sakura looked behind her before screaming.
...My Line...
"Well, Hatake found Haruno," Raika sighed.
Naruto looked at her wondering what her problem with Kakashi was, but left it alone.
"Are we going?" he asked.
"Yes," the hidden female Senju answered. "We need Uchiha and Haruno if we're to pass."
"Sasuke-teme isn't going to work with us and Sakura will follow him," the blonde reminded her. "You do know that, right?"
"I am aware," the greenette sighed. "But, we have to try."
The two pre-teens picked up their pace as they hoped to get to the pinkette in time.
...My Line...
Kakashi placed his hand into the rat sign before leaves appeared and swirled around the pinkette whose eyes were blank. Once he vanished so too did the leaves which left the Haruno standing there.
"Oh my," she blinked before she started to look around. "Is someone there? I think I felt something. What was it?" Sakura then placed her hands on her head. "What going on?!"
"Sakura!" the Uchiha called out from behind her.
"Sasuke!" she cheered as she spun around.
However, the pinkette froze when she saw the second oldest Genin kneeling on the ground with kunai and shuriken sticking out of him.
"S-Sakura...ah...h-help me...please, help me?"
The Haruno's eyes were wide as tears formed before she screamed and then pass out.
...My Line...
"I bet you 50 dollars that Haruno fell for a Genjutsu of a badly wounded Uchiha," Raika said when they heard the pinkette's scream.
"That is a suckers bet," Naruto deadpanned.
The Miran cackled softly at that without losing her speed.
…My Line…
Kakashi sat in a tree reading his book.
"I think I over did it a bit, but she's got to see through these things."
…My Line…
'That sounds like Sakura,' Sasuke thought as he looked where the scream came from.
…My Line…
"Shinobi battle technique #2: the illusion jutsu," Kakashi said as he turned a page. "Sakura studied it in class and yet she didn't see it coming."
…My Line…
'Genjutsu...It's just a simple mind control,' Sasuke thought. 'I'm not surprised he got, Sakura, with it, but…' "I'm not like, Sakura or Naruto or Raika."
"Say that after you get one of these bells," Kakashi told him as he pushed off a tree. "My Sasuke. *Laugh*" Kakashi dodged kunai and shuriken that Sasuke threw at him. 'There's no point in using normal attacks.' Sasuke smirked before throwing a kunai at a robe. 'A trap?' Kakashi dodged it to only block Sasuke's punched with his hand then he blocked a kick followed by another kick. 'What?' Kakashi's eyes widen when Sasuke smirked. 'This kid.' The Uchiha reached for a bell just barely touching one when Kakashi jumped back. 'He's fierce. I won't be able to read Make Out Paradise now.'
...My Line...
Raika and Naruto ran up to Sakura, who was out cold, making them look at her with a raised eyebrow, but the greenette bind down and gently shook Sakura awake.
"Haruno," the Miran called. "Get up."
"Wh-What happened?" the Haruno asked.
"I was hoping you would tell us," Naruto stated.
Sakura eyes widen when she remembers seeing Sasuke on the verge of death.
'Huh? Sasuke…I saw him,' she thought. 'He was on the verge…No!' She stood up. "Sasuke no! You got to survive! Please! Where are you?"
"Um…Haruno," Raika said a little bit unsure if she was ok or not.
Sakura looked over at them surprised to see the two.
"Where did you two come from?"
"We've been here for a while now," the Uzumaki answered as Raika looked to annoyed to answer. "Anyways, if we're to get the bells we'll to work as a team."
"Yeah, right," Sakura snorted. "Like I would work with you two." This made the greenette to twitch. "Anyways, I have got to find Sasuke."
The pinkette then ran away from the blonde and green hair 12-year-olds.
'If I knew that I wouldn't get in trouble, I would kill that girl,' the Miran thought with a growl before she let out a sigh. "Let's go find Uchiha?"
"Yeah," Naruto agreed sadly.
The greenette looked at him and bite her bottom lip in thought and his sad eyes just made her more pissed at the pinkette.
"Come on, Aniki," she said softly as she took his hand in her and started to lead him away.
The blonde allowed her to pull him away and towards Sasuke.
…My Line…
Unknown to the two hidden Senjus was the fact that Team Tobirama was watching them.
"Why that no good pink haired sorry excuse for a kunoichi!" Koharu snarled.
Homura looked just as pissed as her while Hiruzen looked sad before letting out a sigh.
"This squad 7 is on a trail run," the Sarutobi informed them. "If Raika asks for her and Naruto to taken off the squad than I will do that." He held up a file. "I want you two look at these files for me and tell me what you think of them?"
His two former teammates looked over the file before looking at him.
"The one named Sai is a ROOT spy, Hiruzen," Homura stated as he looked at him.
"Yes, I know," the Hokage nodded. "I was thinking that if this Squad 7 doesn't work then Naruto, Raika, and another Genin will make a new Squad under Tenzo while Sai will become a part of Squad 7."
The other two looked at him as it was a good idea before they turned back to the scene in front of them.
...My Line...
The two pre-teens landed in a tree close by watching the whether one sided fight between their teammate and Sensei.
"Hatake has got this in the bag," Raika smirked with a small cackled.
Naruto snickered.
"I wish I had a camara for this," he told her.
The Miran gave him a bigger smirk as a Clone of hers appeared with a video camara.
"Never doubt your best friend's ability to think ahead," she told him.
The blonde had stars in his eyes as he gazed at his green hair friend.
"I love you," he told her.
"I know," the greenette giggled.
…My Line…
Kakashi looked at Sasuke.
"Well, you are different from the other two I'll grant you that," the silver hair Jonin said. "But, as for being different from Raika...well, I haven't seen her fight yet, so I can't said for sure."
Sasuke smirked as he started to do hands sighs.
'Horse, Tiger,' the Uchiha thought as he then lends back. 'Fire Style: Fireball Jutsu!'
"What?" Kakashi said in surprise. "Genin can't do fire jutsu! It takes to mush charka! There's just no way!"
The dark hair Genin proved Kakashi wrong with he blew a fireball at him. When the fire died down Sasuke was surprised to see that Kakashi wasn't there.
'Where did he go?' Sasuke thought was he looked around. 'Behind me, above.'
…My Line…
Identical smirks appeared on the best friends' faces as a hand shot out of the ground and grabbed Sasuke around his ankle.
…My Line…
"Where?" Kakashi asked. "Where you least expect me."
Sasuke screamed out in surprise as Kakashi pulled him into the ground to where only his head was sticking out.
…My Line…
However, both Raika and Naruto were double over laughing their asses off quietly at the scene before them.
…My Line…
"Right under your feet," the Hatake stated "Earth style: Headhunter jutsu."
…My Line…
"I didn't know that he knew Earth Style Jutsus," Naruto said as he tried to catch his breath.
"Kakashi Hatake is said to have copied over a Thousand Jutsus," the greenette told him as she calmed down. "So, I am not surprised that he can use Earth Style Jutsus."
"Cool."
This got him a small cackled from the Miran.
…My Line…
Sasuke tried move to only be unable to.
"Can't move uh…?" the Jonin asked with a smile. "That was the third shinobi battle technique. You have talent and your right…you are different from the others, but different isn't always better." Kakashi turned around opening up his book. "They say the nail that sticks up is the one that gets hammered down."
"Great," Sasuke growled under his breath only to blink when the sound of explosions and Kakashi's yelps where heard. "Okay..."
…My Line…
Kakashi let out a sigh as he got rid of the last trap before smirking as the traps had Uzumaki and Miran written all over them, but there was something else to them. Something a bit more vicious that he didn't think that the best friends have in them for him.
'Clever,' he thought with pride. 'Very clever indeed.'
…My Line…
Sasuke looked around trying to look for a way out.
'He's stronger then I am. I can't around that."
Sasuke looked up when Sakura ran out of the bushes and stopped to see Sasuke looking at her from the ground. The pink hair 13-year-old stares then almost falls back, but was able to catch herself and stares again.
"Sakura?" Sasuke asked.
That did it for the Haruno because she freaked out.
"AH! SASUKE A HEAD WITHOUT A BODY AND HE'S TALKING"
Sakura for a second time that day faints.
"And that's my partner," Sasuke said with disbelief.
…My Line…
Both Naruto and Raika deadpan at this before they let out a sigh each and hung their heads.
"What did Hiruzen-sensei allow this team's creation?" the Miran asked.
"No idea," the blonde answered.
…My Line…
"Good question," Homura snorted.
Koharu raised an eyebrow at the Hokage.
"Well?"
"I plea a moment of insanity," the Sandaime answered.
The two elders snorted in amusement at that, but kept quiet.
…My Line…
Raika and Naruto finally walked out of the woods to see the Uchiha staring at them as they smirked at him.
"You two are not going to faint as well are you?" Sasuke asked him.
"No," Naruto snorted in amusement while Raika cackled.
To answer his question Rin busted out laughing catching Sasuke off guard because he had never heard her laugh as long as he knew her. Once the greenette finally calmed down, Naruto walked over to Sasuke with a smirk on his face. The Uzumaki stopped a few feet from him and started to do hand sighs before slamming his hand down on the ground.
"EARTH STYLE: EARTH RELEASE!" he yelled.
Sasuke felt the ground around him loosen making it easy for him to get out of it. Once Sasuke was no longer in the ground Naruto stood up and looked at him.
"Let's wake up Sakura," the Uchiha sighed. "And make a plane of action."
"Figured it out finally, huh?" the blonde asked as he followed him.
…My Line…
"The Uchiha got it," Koharu sighed in relief.
"It is good thing or Raika and Naruto would have made Genin and the other two headed back to the Academy," Homura stated.
"That's true," the Sarutobi agreed with them with a nod. "And it would have caused one big headache for me."
The other two laughed at that while Hiruzen pouted at them.
…My Line…
Sakura let out a groan as she came, too.
"Sasuke?" she asked before she shot up and then hugged. "You're okay!"
'Okay, I really want to know what Kakashi-sensei made her see,' Naruto thought with a raised eyebrow.
'Seriously,' Raika thought with a sigh.
"Hey!" the Uchiha yelled as he tried to get her to let go. "Cut it out! Let go! Let go!" Once the pinkette let him go, the dark hair Genin stood up. "We've got to get a bell before lunch. That doesn't leave much time."
"Sasuke, your still trying to get one of those bells?" the pinkette asked as she stood up.
"A while ago, I touched one," the dark hair 13-year-old answered. "Next time, I'll get one."
The Haruno gasped as she gave a strain smile.
"That is really great. I can't believe you did that. Your amazing."
"I can't believe it!" Inner Sakura yelled. "He touched one of the bells. I'll never get my hands on one of those things. Which means that Sasuke will pass, and I won't then we'll be separated forever! No, no, no, no, no!"
"Ah, it's almost lunch time," Sakura pointed out. "There's really not much time left, so maybe we should just give up and then try again next year."
Sasuke looked at her with a glare while Naruto rolled his eyes as the Miran looked at her in shock.
"If the four of us work together then we'll get a bell," the Uchiha informed her. "No matter how much I don't want to work with you three."
"Right back at ya," the blonde agreed with a nod.
"If I had my way then Naruto and I would have different teammates," Raika stated.
The pinkette blinked at the two of them before letting out a sigh.
'Great, I'm going to be stuck in the middle of two egos,' she thought in annoyances.
…My Line…
The four Genin all ran through the forest towards the starting point where Naruto pinpointed his sister's chakra signature at.
"Are you sure that this plan will work, Naruto, Raika?" Sakura asked.
"I'm not sure," the blonde answered.
"I mean, this is Copy Ninja Kakashi, we are dealing with…" Raika added as the Uzumaki shrugged his shoulders. "So, there are many things that could go wrong, seeing as he is a former ANBU."
"But, if we just work together and focus on the teamwork of the team then we'll pass even if we don't get a bell," Naruto finished.
Sasuke looked at them from the corner of his eyes before looking ahead again while Sakura looked a little creeped out.
"That does sound reasonable," he agreed. "Kakashi is just looking for teamwork after all."
"He also might be looking for any weakness and strengths that way he can train us," the blonde added.
'Then again…maybe not,' the greenette thought.
The Uchiha smirked.
"This is going to be fun."
The Haruno sweatdropped at that.
'This is going to be…not fun,' she thought.
…My Line…
"WATER STYLE: WATER DRAGON JUTSU!" Kakashi heard a female voice called out.
Just then from the lake, a serpentine looking water dragon with yellow eyes rose up and launched at him, however, the Jonin managed to dodge. But, he ended up dodging again when Naruto came at him from his right only to duck as the Uchiha flew over his head while he spun out of the way of Sakura, who had come at his middle.
"Fire Style…"
"Wind Style…"
"Fire Ball Jutsu!"
"Great Breakthrough!"
The two jutsus of both boys joined together to create a bigger fire storm to which the Hatake ran through a form of hand signs.
"Water Style: Water Wall!" the silver hair Jonin called out before he expelled the water from his mouth to block the fire.
This caused a smoke screen that if it wasn't for Raika's sensory ability then the team would have been blind. The four Genin kept trying to land a hit on the Jonin only to keep failing.
'Is he toying with us?' the pinkette thought as she made a move for the bell.
"Close," he told Naruto, who he dodged, only to have to duck under Sakura. "Whoa!" Kakashi had to then do a hand spring to kept out of the way of Raika's tantō. "At this rate you'll never going to get a bell." The Jonin kept dodging their attacks with ease, but he watched the Miran's moves. 'She knows how to use that blade. Shisui taught her well, that's for sure.'
"Naruto, Sakura, Raika!" Sasuke called out after trying to attack again. "That formation we learned at the Academy."
"Huh?"
"I don't know Sasuke," Sakura said as they stood up from where they collapsed. "I doubt a simple formation like that one well work with Kakashi-sensei."
"Just do it!"
"Well, I suppose it's worth a try," the pinkette said as she looked at the other two. "Am I right?"
"I guess it's better than doing nothing," Naruto sighed. "Ok, I'm in!" He grinned. "Now let's do this!"
"Let's go!"
"Yeah!"
"Right!"
"Bright it."
The three of them then started to run around the Jonin in a circle before they started to jump about over him.
"Fire Style: Fireball Jutsu!"
"Wind Style: Blades of Wind!"
The two jutsu combined to make an even bigger fire storm.
"Water Style: Water Wall!" the Hatake called out as he expelled the water from his mouth to block the fire once again.
A smirk came to a Raika's face as she used a hand sign.
"Water Style: Water Bullet!" the greenette called out as she spit out multiple balls of water at the same time that Sakura threw some kunai and shuriken at the silver hair Jonin.
'Not bad,' Kakashi thought with a smirk as he dodged them with ease.
"Damn," Naruto groaned.
"He's good," the pinkette said.
But, it was at that moment that the alarm rung to which they all looked over.
"Well, looks like this is over," he told them making the four Genin to sigh. "Come on, you three. Let's go take a seat and talk."
"Yes, Sensei," the blonde and pinkette sighed while Sasuke growled.
The hidden female Senju remained quiet before looked annoyed as well.
…My Line…
"Unbelievable," Iruka sighed. "Kakashi has never passed a single student. He fails all of them."
"Iruka, this group is young," the Sarutobi stated. "Even I cannot say if it is good for them to face the rigger's dangers of ninja life. However, Kakashi was correct about all those he failed."
The Umino looked at the book in thought.
...My Line...
The three pre-teens and lone teen followed him over to the stumps where they took a seat while he stood in front of them.
"Now about this exercise," Kakashi spoke up once they were seating. "Well, I've decided on not sending any of you back to academy."
"Then does that the four of us…" Naruto trailed off.
"Pass," the silver hair male finished for him.
Sasuke smirked while the pinkette cheered and the cousins looked smugged.
"Told you so," Naruto sung.
"Yes, you our showed that you can put aside your utter dislike for each other to work towards a signal goal," the Jonin told them. "And because of that you pass this test and are now Squad 7."
"But, what about the bells?" Sakura asked confused.
Kakashi let out a sigh while shaking his head.
"This test wasn't about the bells, but about seeing if you can work together as a team," he answered.
'Hold on a moment?' the pinkette thought before she looked at the Jonin. "There is something that I don't get about this test."
"Oh?"
"You sit it up with four people and only three bells," she started. "But, if the alarm didn't ring when it did as we did get the bells…even I can tell is a childish dream…then only two of us could keep them and that would lead to group conflict along with the squad breaking up."
"That is exactly right," the Hatake agreed with her. "I had purposely pitted you four against each other."
"Huh?"
"I had to know if you could overcome that and put the squad ahead of yourselves," the silver hair male continued. "After all, a Genin should have a natural feel for teamwork. However, at the start two of you worked on your own. Sakura, you obsessed about Sasuke, who was gone, while Naruto was right in front of you, and you didn't even lift a finger to help him…and you, Sasuke, you felt that Naruto, Raika, and Sakura were so far beneath you that you thought that they were worthless. While you, Raika have a habit of remaining back to analyze an opponent before jumping when a teammate is in trouble. That is arrogance at its highest level. A Ninja's missions are carried out in squads, and while you will need individual skills…teamwork, however, is the most essential element. Every shinobi understand this seeing as teamwork is what this village was built on. When individuals put themselves above the squad this can lead to failure...and death. For example…" Kakashi vanished from his place before returning with a kunai and put it to Sasuke's neck. "Sakura kill Naruto now or Sasuke dies!"
Sakura freaked out though she looked like she would do it while Naruto looked back and forth. However, the greenette appeared behind the Jonin with a tantō to his own throat having used the Shunshin to behind him.
"How's this for an example?" Raika asked with a very tiger like growl. "You make one more to harm Naruto or the others and I will remove your head."
This got a small smile from the Hatake as he put the kunai way making the green hair Genin to return to her spot.
"That's what happens on a mission," the Jonin stated. "After all, you just say how quick Raika reacted to the station."
"That was a close one," Sakura said in relief.
"If the enemy takes a hostage and you've got an impossible choice which will almost always end up with someone dying," the silver hair Jonin told them. "On every mission your life is on the line." She walked up to a stone. "Did you look at this stone? The names engraved on it? They are all ninjas who are honored in our village."
"That's it!" Naruto yelled. "That's it! I decided I will have my name engraved on that stone! I'm not gonna live and die like a dog. I'm gonna be a hero! Ya know!"
"I sure as hope to hell that you don't end up on this stone, Naruto," Raika growled as she turned to glare at the blonde.
"They're a special kind of hero," Kakashi stated. "They are all KIA."
"Ohhh, that sounds really cool."
"Uh…Naruto…It means killed in action," Sakura told him softly. "They all died."
"Oh," Naruto said sadly.
"And if you end up on that stone then I will find a way to revive you just to kill you, myself, ya know," the Miran added as she glared at the Uzumaki.
The blonde nodded his head really fast while the rest all looked at her in fear.
"This is a memorial stone," Kakashi went on. "The names of my closest friends are engraved here. In the ninja world those, who break the rules are scum, but those, who abandon their friends, are lower than scum." Kakashi stood up straight given them a thumbs up. "So squad 7 will begin our first mission tomorrow." The greenette place pulled two bentos as Kakashi added out the three that he had with him. "Now eat up."
"Yes, Sensei," the three of them agreed.
"You as well, Hatake," Raika stated as she handed him one of the bentos while keeping the other to herself.
The silver hair Jonin blinked a few times before looking at the bento in thought.
"Thanks," he thanked her as he opened it.
The Miran nodded her head as the other three Genin took their own bentos, opened them, and started to eat while their squad leader did the same.
…My Line…
"I'm leaving now," Iruka told the Sandaime as he stood at the door.
"Iruka, listen to me…"
"Huh?"
"Wither they pass or fail, you must not blame Hinami," Hiruzen told him.
"Right," he agreed as he bowed.
...My Line...
"Lets' go home," Hinami told them as she walked off.
All four of them moved to follow her as they left the training grounds.
