29: Bushy Brow's Pledge: Undying Love & Protection!

"Why are you here?"

"I'm disappointed," the Snake Sannin said. "I expected a friendlier reception after all this time."

"Don't tell me, you've came here to assassinate Lord Hokage?"

"Oh, no, not yet," he answered with a shake of his head. "I don't quite have enough followers to attempt that. I just heard so much good things about this village, I thought that I make it mine." Anko let out a groan before she fell to her knees. "Ah, is the mark, isn't it? I put that same mark on a young man not too long ago." Orochimaru knelt down in front of her. "He's a very promising prospect."

"You haven't changed I see," Anko told him. "He'll die before he serves you."

"Quite possibly," the older shinobi agreed. "I'll say that the odds are 1 in 10 against him. But, the kid may survive as you did."

"Sounds like you want him badly, huh?"

"Ah, jealous?" Orochimaru asked as he stroked her cheek. "Is that it? You can't forgive me, can you? For using you and tossing you aside." Anko glared at him. "In some ways, the boy has more potential than you had. You see, he inherited the sublime abilities of the Uchiha Clan." The Snake laughed. "And his physical abilities is excellent. Yes, he just might be the heir that I am looking for. At the very least, he makes things interesting." He smirked even more. "There is another that I have set my sights on. A young kunoichi, who has just as much potential as the Uchiha." The Mitarashi's eyes widen at that. "But, for now, I am happy with the Uchiha." The older shinobi stood up. "However, know this, I will one day come for the girl."

"Who is she?" Anko asked. "Who is this girl that has got your attention?"

"She is the one, who inherited the sublime abilities of a Hokage," he answered making her even more horrified. "More importantly, the abilities of Tobirama Senju, the Nidaime."

'A Senju lives?' Anko thought in shock. 'But, who…' A certain green hair and red eyed pre-teen flashed in her mind. "Raika Miran." She looked at him. "She's Lord Tobirama's granddaughter…isn't she?"

"Indeed," Orochimaru answered as he turned. "Whatever happens make sure that no one stops the exams early." He then stated to walk away. "After all, three of my followers are also candidates. I am looking forward to how they fair." He then vanished in flames. "Bear this in mind? If anything happens that deprives me of my fun it will mean the end of Konoha."

…My Line…

"Alright, that's enough resting up, I think," Neji said as he and his team sat at a small stream. "The other teams will be calling it a day soon." He then looked up at his teammates. "And that means, that it's time to strike. You know what that means? We split up. And no matter what happens or even if we meet another team or not…" He stood up. "We are to meet up back here." He embedded the kunai that he was holding into the ground. "Got it?"

"No sweat."

"Roger."

"Alright then. Let's moves."

Team Gai were quick to take off after that.

Lee jumped through the trees as he looks for the other scroll that his own team needs to complete the exam.

…My Line…

Raika reached up for a cloth, folded it over before pouring water on it, ringed it out, and finally replaced the cloth on Sasuke's forehead with the new one. She than stood up to place the old cloth where the new one had been hanging before letting out a sigh. Torasora watched her in worry knowing that her summoner was putting too much responsibility onto herself. Hell, the Miran had refused to take both Naruto and Sasuke to the Yuki Kiba no Mori (Snow Fang Forest), the home of the White Tiger summons. The Heiress of the White Tigers let out a sigh wondering why her summoner was so stubborn and wondered if she got from either her father or her mother or Kami forbid both of her parents.

'No,' the greenette thought as she shook her head when she almost dropped off. 'If I fall asleep than the team would be opened to an attack.' She looked at the two males. 'I must protect my team.'

"Sleep, kitten," the tiger ordered as she took noticed of the young girl about to drop off. "I'll keep an eye out."

"But…"

"Don't argue with me!" Torasora growled. "You need your rest, kitten." The hidden honorable granddaughter of the Nidaime could only stare in shock. "What good are you to the kit and Uchiha if you are not well rested?"

"I guess your right," Raika sighed as her summons moved to lay behind her.

The Miran laid back into the tiger and curled up onto her left side before finally allowing sleep to get hold of her. The White Tiger Heiress stared at her summoner for a moment before looking out of the tree that they had hidden in as she let out her eyes roam over the place.

…My Line…

"Kyuubi?" Naruto asked as he stood in the seal facing the giant fox while its tails were lashing out behind him. "How much longer?"

The Kyuubi no Kitsune looked at his host thoughtful before letting out a rumbling sigh.

"Not too much longer," he answered in his deep, commanding, and hate filled voice. "I say that you will awaken at about halfway through the morning." The fox laid his head on his hands looking paws. "That honorary sister of yours removed the seal that that snake put on the seal. If it had remained, then I would say that you would wake up at around noon."

"I see," the Uzumaki sighed. "I still got a lot to learn about Fuinjutsu then if I am to honor my mother and clan."

The Kyuubi snorted as he knew that the boy has another clan to worry about as well.

"You are already better at Fuinjutsu than Raika Miran, but then again the blood of the Uzumaki is stronger in you than it is in her," he stated as he closes his eyes.

"Huh?"

Naruto looked confused at that.

"Now let me sleep."

"Lazy fox," the blonde grumbled. 'I guess, I'll just have to wait then.'

…My Line…

The blonde sat up and let out a sigh yawn which woke up the greenette, who looked over at him.

"Oh, wow, I slept really great."

"Aniki!" the Miran gasped just as Sasuke sat up as well. "Uchiha!"

"Did you take care of us this whole time?" the Uchiha asked in surprise.

"Thanks, Rai-chan *"Don't call me that!"*. We're feeling all better because of you."

"That's great," the greenette said with a soft smile. "I am glad that you two are okay." She than narrowed her eyes. "We need to figure out what do about the test."

"Right," the other two agreed before they started to talk.

Raika watched with a small smile before the sound of ruffling leaves got her attention making her to look over to see Orochimaru.

"Now you will see what it is like to be prey," he stated. "Running frantically from a predator." The snake laughs. "And that predator is me."

Wine red eyes widen as Orochimaru's neck stretched out and turned into an actual snake.

"Aniki!" she tried to call out only to realize that she wasn't making a sound. 'My voice?' She gripped her throat in shock. 'It's gone.' She looks at her two teammates. 'Even Uchiha and Naruto's voices are gone.'

Her eyes widen even more as the snake lunged to kill Naruto before horror took over.

…My Line…

"ANIKI!" Raika cried out as she shot up from where she laid against Torasora.

"Kitten?!" the tiger asked in confusion and worry. "What's wrong?"

The Miran looked at both the blonde and raven hair Genins before letting out a sigh of relief.

"It's nothing," she finally answered. "Just a bad dream is all." The greenette looked up at the treetop. 'So, it's morning already, huh?' The green hair Genin pulled out a kunai when she heard the bushes ruffle as Torasora stood up and started to growl only for it to be cut off. 'Say what? A squirrel?' Both females let out a sigh. "Way to scare us little guy."

"Kitten!" Torasora called out when the squirrel ran over to them allowing her to notice something on its back.

Raika was quick to use her kunai to stop it from coming closer.

'To close.' "Sora?"

"Paper bomb," the tiger informed her softly.

"I see."

The two of them watched as the squirrel ran off.

…My Line…

"I could have sworn that would work," one of the spies stated. "Do you think that she saw the paper bomb that we put on the squirrel?"

"No, that wasn't it, however, it would seem that tiger sure did," the mummy looking spy answered.

"Then what is it? What are you thinking?"

"I'm thinking that we should go have a closer look and find out. So, let's get going?"

He pulled back some leaves while laughing.

Sasuke let out a groan as he panted while still sleeping.

…My Line…

The green wearing Genin continued on his way through the forest before he caught sight of the falling leaves.

'Okay,' he thought as he clinched his fist. 'If I can catch all 20 of those leaves before, they hit the ground then Raika will fall in love with me, but if I cannot then she'll never return my feelings. That is the challenge that I am going to give myself.'

…My Line…

"Your sweet, Lee, but I am more focus on my training as a kunoichi then in boys," she informed him.

…My Line…

'I can't believe that she thinks that I'm sweet,' the 13-year-old thought. 'However, I am going to show her that I am worthy of her love.' He then lunched at the leaves. '1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8…' The teen kept snatching up the leaves. 'Yes, I am going to get them all.' However, as luck would have it, Lee hit a tree branch and let out a groan of pain. "19…" He then looked to see the last one. "One left…" But, as he was about to grab it a strange sound got his attention. "Huh? What was that?" Lee looked over to see a paper bomb on the back of a squirrel about to go off before he was quick to get to the little creature. "*Sigh* That was close. This paper bomb will explode after a certain admit of time." He then crushed the bomb in his hand. "Who would do such an awful thing?"

…My Line…

The Hyuuga of Team Gai landed in a clearing looking around the place.

"Alright!" Neji called out. "Stop hiding and come out!"

…My Line…

"Shoot," Ino whispered in horror. "How did he see us? We hide so fast."

"What a drag," Shikamaru sighed. "Now that he has found us out this is going to be such a pain."

"It's no big deal," the Yamanaka stated. "Our hide and hang out strategy did work. So, we'll go with strategy number 2."

"What?" Choji asked in shock. "Are you serious Ino?"

"You've got a problem with that? Trust me this plan can't fail."

{A/N: Oh, it failed. And boy, did it fail big time.}

"Well, what do we got to lose?"

{A/N: Huh…only your dignity that's what, Shikamaru.}

…My Line…

"Ah, haha," Ino gasped with a happy laugh as they run out of hiding. "Imaging running into last year's Number one Rookie, Neji Hyuuga, out here!"

"Can I have your autograph?"

"Ugh, you guys," Neji sighed as he turned to face them.

{A/N: I actually felt for Neji as this was too painful to watch.}

"Yeah," the Yamanaka agreed as she moved to remove her hair tie. 'Strategy number 2: Where you fall head over heels for my beauty.' "Hi there." She than let her hair down. "I've been wanting to meet you for a really long time, Neji. So…hi."

"Get lost," the Hyuuga told them as he turned and started to walk away.

"What?!" Ino yelled in shock. 'He should have been blown over by my beauty. Why didn't that work? Ugh!' The blonde teen had raised her hands into the air and started to punch the air itself. 'It makes me so mad that I could just hit something.'

However, her actions got the attention of Neji.

"Did you raise your fists to me? Does that mean you want to fight?"

This made the Yamanaka freak a bit.

"No," she answered. "No way. Course not."

"Tch. Go away. Even if I did steal a scroll from you cowardly wimps, everyone would just laugh at me for it."

"Sounds good to me!" Ino yelled as the Team 10 took off running.

"Hmph. They scurry off like cockroaches."

…My Line…

The Yamanaka, Akamichi, and Nara were panting after having run away.

'Just as I thought,' Shikamaru thought. 'Someone like him wouldn't take a scroll from people like us unless we turned on him and attack.'

"Alright," Ino said as she sat up while retying her hair up. "Let's find us some weaklings."

"Yeah, well, I doubt that we'll find anyone weaker than us," the Nara deadpanned.

…My Line…

Raika felt herself start to fall back to sleep before she snapped her eyes opened again.

"Some look out," a voice called out. "Your half fast asleep." The greenette snapped her head over to see three Genin all wearing the Hidden Sounds Headband making her to narrow her eyes. "At least you don't have keep look out anymore. After all, what's the point as we already found you. Now wake Sasuke up. We want to fight him."

'Like I let you temes touch any one of my teammates,' the Miran thought as she reached for her kunai pouch. "What is it that you want? And I do mean, what is it that you really want? I also know that Orochimaru is calling the shots from the shadows." This took the three Sound Ninjas by surprised. "What is that strange mark on the back of Uchiha's neck? It seems to me that you are behind this, too. And now you want to fight an injured and sick Shinobi while he can't even defend himself!"

"What could he be thinking?" the mummy looking Genin asked himself.

"I can't stay quiet after hearing you talk to us like that," the other male stated. "First I am going to kill this girl and then I am going to kill Sasuke."

"Wait Zaku."

"What? Why?"

The obvious leader of the team walked forward for a bit.

"It is so obvious," he answered as he knelt. "This is the color of dirt that has just been dug up." He touched the ground. "And while this is indeed the color of grass that grows in a place like this, it is off center." This made the Miran to glare. "You know if you are going to lay a trap then there is point unless you make sure that it is hidden."

"Ha, you are just a joke," Zaku laughed. "You threw your kunai knife so that squirrel wouldn't spring the trap that you sat, huh?"

"Now we kill her," the leader of the three said.

The greenette smirked at them as she pulled out a kunai and cut one of the two wires tied to another kunai.

"A log?!" Zaku yelled in shock.

"She also laid a trap above," the mummy looking one said in shock. "Look out." He placed his hand on the log. "Nice try little girl." The older Genin than used his Sound based attack to destroy the log, however, from the destroyed log came kunai, shuriken, and senbone. "A trap hidden within a trap!" The three of them had to cover themselves as they were peppered with the weapons. 'This girl…' The male then noticed the smirk that Raika had get bigger before she cut the final wire. "What is she planning?"

"Dosu!" the female of the three called out.

This made Dosu to look in time to see a net made of ninja wire flying at them.

"I got this," Zaku said as he held out his hands with his palms facing the net. "As my friend said not to long ago. Nice try little girl."

The Miran narrowed her eyes as she felt chakra build up in his arms before blasting out of the holes in his palms.

"Clearly you have no talent as a ninja," Dosu laughed as the net was sent flying. "Obvious someone like you should make a little more of an effort."

This just made Raika more pissed off as she goes to pull out her tantō.

"LEAF HURRICANE!"

Rock Lee appeared just then and kicked the three enemy Genin away from her.

'Huh? Why is he here?'

"Looks like you also have to make more of an effort," Lee stated.

"Who are you?"

"I am the handsome devil of Konoha," the green wearing boy went on. "And my name is Rock Lee."

The Miran blinked a bit in surprise.

"Why are you here, Lee?" Raika asked.

"I shill appear anytime and anywhere you are in trouble, Raika," the older Leaf Genin answered as he placed the squirrel on the ground. "This all thanks to you little. "But, it is time for you run along."

"Lee," the Miran spoked up. "Right no in this test, we're enemies."

"Raika, I already told you," the green wearing male said. "I will protect you until I die."

…My Line…

"Please be my girlfriend?" Lee asked. "I vow to protect you with my life."

…My Line…

"Yes, of course," the greenette finally agreed. "Thank you…Rock Lee." 'Not that I need any protecting, but whatever.'

'Yes!' Lee thought with tears in his eyes. 'She said yes, Gai-sensei! She said yes!'

"Looks like I have no choice," Dosu said as he held up their Earth Scroll. "Zaku, I'll let you have Sasuke." He tossed the scroll to his male teammate, who stood behind him. "I'll deal with these two."

'I would like to see you try,' the hidden Senju Princess thought as she used her chakra to protect her ear drums, but still allow her to hear. 'After all, I have figured out your little trick.' She smirked. 'Which you shouldn't have used when you attacked Yakushi.'

'It doesn't look like Raika is in any condition to fight,' Lee thought as he glanced the Team 7's female member.

"That guy with the bushy-eyebrows is pretty good with Taijutsu," Dosu said before he charged in. "Looks like I get to have some fun."

Raika threw her kunai to which the mummy looking guy dodged it before Lee used a tree root and block the attack.

"I am positive that there is some kind of trick to your attack," Lee stated. "So, therefore, I will not waste my time trying to dodge it. After all, I have seen your jutsu before."

'Amazing,' the Miran said in surprise. 'He's good and tough.'

'Of course, having said that, my odds are still not very good,' Lee thought. 'Since it is three against one. I have to take a chance. I will attack them one at a time with all my might.'

…My Line…

Choji of Team 10 sat in a tree eating chips while his teammates stood under it to talk.

"Ah, man!" Ino yelled. "There doesn't seem to be anyone around that seems to be weaker than us!"

"Not so fast," Shikamaru said. "I still think that Naruto's team might be weaker than we are."

"You take that back you jerk!" the Yamanaka growled at him.

"What do you mean?"

"There is no doubt that Naruto and Raika are lame, but I won't have you bad mouthing Sasuke!" the blonde told him. "He's awesome!"

"Whatever," the Nara stated. "Maybe your precious Sasuke is better in theory than in practice." Ino, however, growled while glaring. "Alright, alright. I apologize if I upset you." 'What a drag. I say one negative thing about Sasuke, and I get the evil eye from his number one fan here.' He looked at his female teammate. 'However, while Naruto is weaker than us there is no doubt in my mind that Raika is stronger as Team Tobirama aka Lord Hokage and his teammates had taken her under their wing. No one can be trained by all three of Lord Second's students and come out of it as weak.' He let out a sigh. 'But, there is no use in telling Ino that. What a drag.'

"There is no way that Sasuke can lose a battle, ha," Ino laughed. "But, Raika is a different matter."

"Hey!" Choji called out to the other two. "Sasuke has collapse!"

"Hmm?"

"Huh?"

"And Raika is fighting!"

"What did you say?" Ino asked as she and Shikamaru joined in the tree.

The Yamanaka looked towards were Choji was looking before letting out a gasp.

…My Line…

"He's late and he's never late," Tenten said as she and Neji stood at the agreed meeting spot. "Lee is…well, fanatical about being on time. Maybe he ran into the enemy." She let out a gasp. "You don't think…"

"No, I'm sure that he is alright," the Hyuuga told her. "But, still…we better go find him."

"Right."

The two of them were quick to leave to look for their missing team member.

…My Line…

A piece of wood broke apart as Lee jumped up and down.

"Yes, I did it! I finally mastered the jutsu!"

Both Neji and Tenten were panting hard as they watched.

"Enough resting! You are wasting your gifted precious youth!" 'This jutsu. In the end, only Lee could make it his own.'

"I did it! I actually did it!"

"Lee."

"After all of that practice I really able to pull it off!"

"Lee."

"I guess that if I just try hard off I can do anything."

"Lee!"

"Wow, I really did it! Haha!"

"QUIET IT!" Gai yelled as he punched the younger green wearing male to get him to shut up. "Now listen to your Sensei's awesome message."

"Yes, I am ready to hear your amazing wisdom sir."

"This new jutsu. The Lotus Technique is now forbidden."

"Huh?"

This took all three of his students by surprise.

"What do you mean? Why?"

"This jutsu puts a hug strain on your bodies muscles," Gai answered. "It's a self-sacrificing technique. Normally humans only use at most about 20% of their muscle's strength. Do you understand only about 20%? If all of the power were to be used then the muscles will disintegrate, so the brain regulates all of the power that the muscles can exert, but this jutsu is different. It uses chakra which forces the brain to go past it's limits for continues uses of high speed Taijutsu. In other words, this jutsu uses a secret technique that brings forth power past the limits of the human body. It is very dangerous. There is only one time that this jutsu should be used. When a particular condition is meet."

"Yes, I see," Lee said as he saluted. "What is this condition, sir?"

"Are you ready?" their sensei asked. "You all need to take this heart. The condition is…"

…My Line…

'The condition is…' Neji thought as he quickly moved through the trees.

…My Line…

'Gai-sensei, I have to use the Lotus now,' Lee thought as he undid the bandages around his hands. 'The condition has been met. I must use the jutsu.' Raika turned her head towards just in time to see Dosu rush towards them. "To protect the life of someone precious!"

'Lee,' the Miran thought as she felt a bit touched.

Rock Lee vanished as soon as Dosu reached him.

"What? He vanished!"

However, the green clad Genin then appeared in front of him again and kicked him under his chin which sent him flying forward.

"Not yet," Lee said as the bandages that he was wearing wrapped around the Sound Genin.

"Oh no, Dosu," Zaku said. "There is no way that he can break his fall."

The last Sound Genin male went through hand sighs as he watched.

"Take this," Lee stated as he started to spin. "Primary Lotus!" Lee had gotten away before Dosu hit the ground, but Zaku had slammed his hands into the ground before he hit. 'What is this feeling?'

"Got you just in time," Zaku said. "That impact could have been much worse for you."

Raika growled as Dosu got up and shocked his head.

"What?" Lee aske din shock. "This cannot be!"

'This is not good,' the greenette thought. 'To be able to survive the Lotus…is…unthinkable.' The hidden Senju Princess narrowed her wide-red eyes on Zaku. 'How was that guy able to save his teammate?'

"That is a frighting jutsu and it nearly took me out even thought I landed on this soft dirt," Dosu said. "Now it's my turn."

'Oh no,' Lee thought as he panted. 'My body still has not recover from using that jutsu.'

"Lee!" Raika yelled as Dosu ran forward. "Use chakra to protect your ear drums!" This surprised the Sound team, but the mummy looking Genin continued his attack on Lee, who was able to dodge, however, it was still affected. "Lee, no."

"Your jutsu is indeed fast, but our is even faster because it travels at the speed of sound," Dosu told Lee as the green wearing male fall to his knees. "Effect along does nothing. Now watch. We're going to show you something that we call the wall."

The three Sound Genin laughed while Raika glared at them as she ready to move.

Suiren Uzumaki: To the review left by danj09290 from last chapter: I like the title; however, I changed water lily to its Japanese word and added hime at the end. As for the crossover, it's a Naruto and Sailor Moon: Crystal crossover reaction fic, though I don't have it up at the moment as I want to go through it and fix any problems that I find. However, I will be putting it up on Quotev as I have an account with them as well. Of course, I have a few other stories on that website that I don't have over here, though, once I am finishing going through it, I will Private Message you to tell you the title of the story, but I can still give you, my Quotev account username anyhow.
