It felt as though the sun rose earlier than normal.

"Lyla, please close the blinds," Mig complained.

"Closing them now," she commented as the room began to darken.

Wonderful.

"You gonna contact Gabriel?"

"Sleeping," he turned on his side, leaning into Peter's back as he drifted back to sleep.

"Ok," she snapped a picture of them before going back to whatever she did when not in use.

Pete yawned, stretching as best he could. Seemed like Miguel was still quite the sleep cuddler. He smiled, petting his buff friend's arm. Peter would find a way to steal this bed.

"Time to wake up, snuggle buggle."

Mig grumbled, "What time is it?"

"8 am."

"Yea," Pete winced as his phone alarm started blaring, "You need to get back to Jess' house. I have to go to work."

Mig covered his ears from the noise, "Right."

"Alright, up, up," Pete climbed from the bed, throwing his clothes on, "Do you need a change?"

"I don't wet the bed, so no," Miguel stood.

"Not last night."

He glared at the ai dangerously.

"Lets go, Miguel," Pete called, rushing around, "I gotta get you home and me home and get to work by 930."

"I can take myself back to-"

"No! Now!"

"Coming!"

Once back at Jessica's house Miguel decided to sit and think on the most efficient way to fix these holes.

"Lyla?"

"That's me."

"How many anomalies and holes?"

"458." She tsked. She only managed to keep a straight face for a minute, "Nah, it's like 50. But you should have seen your face."

"I'm going to remove sarcasm from your programming."

"You haven't done it yet, you must like getting kicked in the butt constantly," she floated around him, taking a selfie with his glower, "Love ya."

He rolled his eyes, checking around the house. Jess still wasn't here yet. Neither was Virgil. That provided him with an opportunity to contact Ben. It should be ok if he has a partner.

But just in case.

-Jess, can I go to HQ please? I'm going to be working with Ben.-

-Look here, I'm being discharged today. And you and I are still going to talk about you sneaking off the second I get to the hospital. You go to HQ and work with Ben. It's 9 now, you'd better be back at my house by dinner time.-

-Yes ma'am-

-When is dinner time?-

-6pm-

-Exactly-

"She seems pretty upset," he put his phone down, feeling the nervousness creep up his spine again.

"Could be that you did something dumb after she told you not to."

"I have to fix the holes. The longer I'm down the more build up," he argued, quickly grabbing his clothes. He considered keeping the diaper on.

It had proved useful on two separate occasions when fighting. Lyla claimed it wasn't very noticeable, but he didn't trust Lyla as far as he could throw her. How much she loved to tease and embarrass him. But Jess had promised it wasn't.

"How are you feeling?" Ben looked Miguel over, "More casual?"

"Feeling better," he had decided to have his sweat shirt on while in HQ, just in case.

"Alright, then let's get things taken care of, boss."

Mig set a timer, "Let's aim for four."

X

With Ben's help he was able to get four done much faster than by himself. They actually were able to push and get double their goal amount done. With that it was now 3pm.

"Nice work," 2099 pat Scarlet's head, "Take it easy."

Ben quietly lit up at the praise, "Is that all we're going to do?"

"Yes, we put a good enough dent in it for one day. Thanks for the help," Miguel decided to go straight to Jessica's from his office. As soon as he did a quick update on his system.

"You think this is going to stop her from yelling at you?" Lyla watched as he quickly cooked a simple meal.

"I'm hoping she's too tired to, but this can't hurt," he set a timer and rushed to change the bed sheets and clean more, "Time?"

"5:38."

"Great," he ran through cleaning and pulling the laundry out of the dryer. He had no idea how she liked her stuff folded, but it was clean at least.

"Someone is home~!" Lyla clapped, running to the door as it opened, "Welcome home!" A gasp passed her lips, "He's so adorable!"

"Hi Lyla," Jess smiled, "This is little Gunner. He's finally made his way out to the world. Fashionably early, but I'm happy."

"Ah, that's your name," Virgil commented carrying the bag in, "He is beautiful and I helped make him," he said proudly, "Now where is the one I didn't make?"

"I'm here," Miguel hadn't actually heard what was said, he just wanted to make sure Jess knew that he was there, "I cleaned up and the food is almost ready."

"Aren't you so helpful?" Virgil smiled, "Did you have fun with Pete last night?"

"Yes, I did. We had submarine sandwiches."

"Good," Jess nodded.

"I made beef stew, and since you're home now I can throw the rolls in the oven," he slid away to the kitchen.

Virgil smiled, turning to his wife, "Come on Sweets, be nice."

She shook her head, "I'm being very nice. I'm getting Gunner's bouncer."

Virgil kept his smile, slipping to the kitchen, "Don't pull that again," his smile fell as he scolded Miguel.

"Cook?"

"That staying up and going out all night," he wagged a finger at him, "She's really upset with you. And I am putting my own existence in peril here by defending you."

"I…I know, thank you," Miguel averted his eyes, shuffling some at his tone.

Virgil saw that expression and shook his head. He sighed, rubbing his eyes, "Have you changed?" He pulled the front of 2099's pants.

Mig tensed, still not used to that, "I did already."

"OK, well, thank you for helping out around the house," he pet his head, slowly making his way to his room.
