Chapter 60

Whoop! Whoop! 60 Chapters! We're finally back in Storybrooke! I've been very excited to play around with Dark Swan and Hanna for a long time and I've been having a lot of fun with this part of the story so far! Hope you like it too! Enjoy :)

Hanna slowly opened her eyes and looked around. She sat up and saw that they were inside Granny's. Everything in the diner was a mess and everyone was lying on the floor as if they had all fallen asleep and were just now waking up. Why were they here? Weren't they just walking into Camelot?

"Are you alright, princess?" Hanna looked up and saw her dad reaching out his hand for her. She nodded her head, put her hand in his, and he pulled her up from the ground. "Dad, what happened?"

"I'm not sure," David told her as he looked around the room. He spotted Snow and quickly went to her.

Hanna followed. "Mom, are you okay? What about Neal?"

"I'm fine sweetie," Snow said with a smile. "And your brother seems to be just fine too."

Hanna looked down at her brother and saw his bright blue eyes staring back up at her. "Hi baby." Neal smiled up at his big sister. Hanna leaned down to kiss his cheek, but quickly turned when she heard the front door of Granny's open. Sneezy and Sleepy came through the door. Hanna was confused…they had just left Granny's and were about to walk into Camelot. At least that was the last thing she remembered, but now they were back in Storybrooke?

"What are you guys doing here?" Sneezy asked.

Snow looked at her friend curiously. "What happened?"

"We're back," David said.

Regina shook her head in confusion. "This doesn't make any sense. We were just walking into Camelot."

"What the hell are we wearing?" Grumpy said as he looked down.

Hanna looked down too and noticed her dress. This was not what she was wearing a few minutes ago.

Grumpy looked to his brother for answers. "Sneezy what happened? How long were we gone?"

"Six weeks," Sneezy told him.

Hanna shook her head. "What?" None of this made any sense.

"Our memories…they're gone." David said.

"Again?" Snow said in disbelief.

Hanna sighed. Why did this keep happening to them? What happened in those six weeks? Did they find Merlin? Did he help them get the darkness out of Emma? Emma…Hanna looked around the room, but didn't see her sister anywhere. "Where's…" Before Hanna could even finish, she heard someone poof into the room.

"Relax, I'm right here."

Hanna turned and saw Emma, but this was a very different Emma than the one she expected to see. She was dressed in black from head to toe. Her skin was pale and her hair was white. This wasn't just Emma, this was the Dark One.

"Mom? What happened to you?" Henry asked.

"Isn't is obvious? You went to Camelot to get the darkness out of me." Emma walked closer to them. She stood in front of Snow and brushed her hand down her cheek. "And you failed."

Hanna froze when Emma turned to look at her next. The look Emma was giving her sent a chill up Hanna's spine. Hanna instantly felt guilty for not keeping her promise. She told Emma she would help get the darkness out of her, but Hanna clearly didn't keep that promise, and now her sister seemed to have fully succumb to the darkness.

Emma's chilling glare was interrupted by a sneeze coming from the wannabe sheriff standing behind them.

Emma turned and saw the dwarf wearing her hat and red leather jacket. "What the hell are you suppose to be?" Hanna could tell by the sound of her voice that she wasn't amused with Sneezy's outfit choice. She walked over to him.

"Emma don't…" Hanna tried, but with a wave of her hand, Emma turned the dwarf into a statue.

Emma turned to face everyone. "There's no savior in this town anymore."

"Emma stop. That's enough," Regina said.

"Or what?" Emma asked.

"Or I'll do exactly what you asked me to." Regina reached for the dagger, the one Emma gave her just before they left for Camelot, but it wasn't there.

"Looking for this?" Emma asked as she held out the dagger to Regina. "Nobody's going to touch this dagger but me." Emma quickly put the dagger away.

Hanna looked up at her sister. "Emma, why are you doing this?"

"Because…I am the Dark One." Emma told her before disappearing in a puff of black smoke.

Nobody knew what they were going to do. Snow, David, and Regina decided that the best thing would be to go home, get some rest, and regroup in the morning.

Hanna stormed into the loft. "I can't believe this is happening!"

Snow sighed. "It's going to be alright, Hanna."

"No Mom, it's not! We didn't save Emma from the darkness, we can't remember anything that happened over there, and ugh…this stupid dress!" Hanna pulled at the corset that was tight around her waist. "There's no way I wore this thing for six weeks. Why would anyone want to wear something like this? I mean it's the most uncomfortable…"

Snow and David looked at each other, waiting for Hanna to just get it all out of her system. Neither knew what they were going to do. Hanna was right. Things were not okay right now. One daughter was the Dark One and the other was about to have a melt down because of it. Snow and David knew they had to keep their heads on straight if they were going to get their family through this. They decided to just take things one step at a time, and the first step was to get Hanna out of that dress.

Snow gently took ahold of Hanna's arms. "How about we get you into something more comfortable, okay?"

"Okay," Hanna sighed. She turned and walked up the stairs.

"I'm going to go put this little prince to bed," David said.

"And I'll go deal with our young princess. We'll be back down in a few minutes." Snow gave Neal a quick kiss goodnight and headed upstairs.

Snow walked into Hanna's room to find her pulling at the buttons on the back of the dress.

"Let me help you, sweetie."

"Fine." Hanna put her arms down.

Snow pushed Hanna's hair out of the way so she could get to the buttons.

"Ouch, Mom!" Hanna quickly reached her hands back to stop her mom from moving her hair anymore.

"Sorry…it's tangled in one of the buttons"

"Yeah and it hurts!" Hanna pulled at her hair trying to get it unstuck.

"Alright, just let me get it."

Hanna groaned and put her hands back down. "Just don't pull it anymore."

"I won't," Snow promised. Snow got Hanna's hair untangled and began to undo the buttons.

Hanna crossed her arms and began tapping her foot. She was growing impatient. "Seriously Mom, just go get the scissors and cut me out of this."

"I will do no such thing," Snow said as she continued to unbutton the dress. "This is a gorgeous gown."

"Well, I'm never wearing it again."

"Okay, Hanna," Snow said with a sigh.

"Can you just hurry up?" Hanna whined. Why did she have to be stuck in a dress with a million buttons?

"I'm almost done…" Snow said as she quickly undid the last two. "Okay you're free."

"Finally…that took forever."

Snow tried not to take Hanna's impatience personally. She knew she was just upset about Emma, and this really had nothing to do with her or the dress. "Right, well I think you can do the rest yourself. Just come down when you're done, okay?"

"Yeah, okay." Hanna said as she pulled at the sleeves. She looked up just as her mom was about to walk out of the room. "Mom?"

"Yeah?" Snow turned to Hanna.

"Thank you."

"You're welcome," Snow said with a smile. She shut the door and went downstairs to get into some more comfortable clothes herself.

Hanna easily got the dress off the rest of the way. She put on a pair of sweatpants and her favorite hoodie. She was about to head downstairs when she saw that she had left the dress in a heap on the floor. She figured her mom wouldn't appreciate it if she left the dress like this. Hanna went to her closet to get an empty hanger. She picked up the stupid dress and hung it up nicely in her closet.

Hanna walked downstairs and over to the couch. She sat down between her parents and noticed a cup of hot chocolate waiting for her on the coffee table. She reached out and picked it up, then just put it back down again. She was so sick about Emma she didn't even want her favorite drink. Hanna sighed and hugged her knees to her chest

"We know this is hard," David said as he wrapped his arm around her.

Hanna leaned into his embrace. "I just wish we could remember what happened while we were over there."

"Us too, baby," Snow said as she brushed the hair from Hanna's face. "I'm not sure there's much we can do about it tonight though. Why don't you just try to get some rest."

Hanna shook her head. "I don't think I can sleep."

David picked up the remote. "How about we put on the most boring tv show we can find and see if that helps?"

Hanna grinned up at her dad. "Okay, let's try it."

Hanna snuggled in with her parents and her mom put a blanket over the three of them. Her dad put on some black and white tv show that Hanna had never seen before. She tried to pay attention to it, but all Hanna could think about was how guilty she felt for failing Emma in Camelot. By the time they were mostly through the second episode though, Hanna's eyelids became heavy and she finally fell asleep.

The next day, Hanna decided to go for a walk along the beach. She just needed a chance to clear her head and take in everything that had happened since they returned. The dwarves tested the town line this morning and found out the hard way that you get turned into a tree if you try to leave Storybrooke. Poor Dopey was a tree now, and Sneezy was still a statue thanks to Emma. The dwarves were dwindling fast. They also found out that King Arthur was here too. Hanna remembered him from the journey to Camelot. They informed him that Emma is the Dark One, and that she was the one who cast the curse bringing them all here. And now, on top of everything else, there was a demon flying around, called a fury. It was sent from the Underworld and was after Robin. The fury was here to collect the unpaid price of magic. According to Regina, someone used magic in Camelot and didn't pay up. A fury doesn't come for just any price. It only comes when the price for magic is a life. That demon was here to drag Robin to the Underworld and the only way to save him was for someone to give their life in his place. Regina said that was the only way, but Hanna thought maybe her sister would know a way to save him. She wasn't sure if Dark One Emma was really into saving people, but Hanna had to try.

As Hanna stood in the sand and looked out to the ocean, she began to say her sister's name. "Emma Swan, Emma Swan, Emma Swan." She waited a few minutes, but no Emma. "I know you can hear me. Just come here so we can talk." Hanna looked around, but still nothing. "Come on, Emma. Please!"

"No luck, love?"

Hanna jumped when she heard the voice from behind. She turned to find Killian walking towards her. "Damn it, you scared me."

Killian grinned. "My apologies."

Hanna sighed. "Have you seen her?"

Killian nodded. "She came when I called earlier."

Hanna rolled her eyes. "Seriously?"

Killian shrugged. "She came when Henry asked too." He didn't want to hurt the girls feelings by telling her that. He just thought she should know.

Hanna's mouth fell open. She couldn't believe her sister was ignoring her. "That little…"

"Easy," Killian said, putting his hand on her shoulder to try and keep her calm. "I can take you to her if you'd like." Killian wasn't sure why Emma came when he and Henry called, but not when Hanna did. Emma was avoiding her sister for a reason. Killian thought maybe the best way to help Emma would be to make her talk to the one person she clearly does not want to talk to.

"Emma lives here?" Hanna asked as she stared at the giant house with the white picket fence.

"Aye, I don't know if she's in there right now, but this is where she'll come back to. We can wait for her to return and…"

"I think I'd rather wait by myself," Hanna told him.

"Are you sure?"

Hanna nodded. "Yeah. I just think I need to talk to her alone."

"Okay, just be careful."

"I will. Thanks, Killian."

Hanna walked up the stairs to the front door. She slowly reached out her hand towards the doorknob, hoping the thing wouldn't shock her or something. She squeezed her eyes shut and took ahold of it. She let out a sigh of relief when nothing happened, and she easily opened the door. Hanna walked inside and called out for her sister once more.

"Em, are you here?" Nothing. Hanna walked towards the living room. "Emma?" Still nothing. "I don't know if you're here or not, but I know you can hear me, and I'm not leaving until you come talk to me." Hanna plopped herself onto the couch and just waited.

"What the hell are you doing here?" Emma said not even a minute later.

Hanna ignored the cold tone in her sister's voice and just looked up at her. "Well it's about time. I've been wanting to talk to you all day."

"I know."

"So you've just been ignoring me on purpose then?" Hanna knew she was, but the fact that Emma didn't seem to care really annoyed her. "So you'll come when Henry and Killian ask, but not me?"

"I don't have anything to say to you." Emma turned and walked out of the room.

Hanna stood up from the couch and followed. "Well maybe I have something to say to you!"

Emma quickly turned to face Hanna. "Then say it, so you can leave."

Hanna clenched her fists, trying to stay calm. Emma was making that very difficult though. Hanna just took a deep breath and looked up at her sister. "Emma, I'm sorry. I'm sorry I didn't keep my promise. I know I said I would help find a way to get the darkness out of you, but I obviously failed and I'm sorry."

"Are you done?" Emma raised her eyebrows.

"That's all you have to say to me?"

Emma rolled her eyes. "It's not your fault, Hanna. I chose to do this and no one could have stopped me. So stop blaming yourself."

"You chose this? Why? Emma, what happened over there?" It frustrated Hanna that she couldn't remember anything.

Emma shook her head. "Nothing you need to worry about. Everything is going to be fine."

"Fine? You're the Dark One, Emma. This isn't fine."

"Hanna, I've got all of this under control," Emma assured her.

Hanna rolled her eyes. "Okay, then what about that demon that wants to drag Robin to the Underworld then? Do you have that under control?"

"That…is not my problem."

"It might not be your problem, but you could at least help. Can't you just call it off or something?"

"No. I'm done fixing Regina's problems. I didn't summon that monster. The price is not mine to pay. It's hers. She knows what she has to do to save him."

"She's not going to just sacrifice someone else's life, Emma!"

Emma scoffed. "Yeah she's choosing now to be heroic."

Hanna was taken aback by that comment. Regina has done so many things to prove she's changed, and Emma knew that. Emma sacrificed herself to the darkness because she knew how hard Regina worked to be good. Something wasn't right.

"Emma…this isn't you." Hanna reached out and took her sister's hands. "The real you is still in there. I know it." Hanna looked deep into her eyes. "You're the saviour. There's no way the darkness took over you this easily. What's going on?"

Emma pulled her hands away, but not before Hanna saw the expression on her face. Hanna only saw that look for a split second, but she knew what it meant.

Emma opened the front door. "Go home."

Hanna ignored her. "I'm right, aren't I? You're acting this way for a reason!" Hanna smiled. She was starting to get excited. "I can help you. We can…"

Emma slammed the door shut. "Hanna there is no 'we' at all! You can't help me!"

Hanna's eyes went wide as she watched her sister walk closer and the blank expression on her face turn angry very quickly.

"I'm the Dark One now, so get use to it!" Emma shouted.

Hanna looked up at Emma and decided that she wasn't scared of her. "No! You're hiding something! There's something about all of this that you're not telling us!"

"Hanna, just get out of here!"

"No!" We want to help you!" Hanna stopped and took a deep breath. "We're really worried about you, Em. Mom and Dad…"

Emma rolled her eyes. "Oh Mom and Dad…why don't you run just along home to them and enjoy to your perfect little family."

Hanna shook her head. "What?"

Emma walked closer so she was now nose to nose with Hanna. "You just got everything didn't you?"

"What are you talking about?"

Emma pointed a finger at Hanna. "You know exactly what I'm talking about."

"Emma stop it." Hanna knew where she was going with this, but why was she bringing it up right now? Hanna knew Emma had come to terms with all of this already.

"No. You were a kid when I broke the curse. You still are. You actually get to grow up with parents while I was stuck growing up in foster home after foster home with no parents to love me."

"Emma…" Hanna could feel tears welling up in her eyes. Hanna knew Emma didn't really mean what she way saying, but part of her couldn't help but wonder if maybe Emma really did feel this way.

"Just go live your happy little life and stay out of mine!"

Hanna tried to keep the tears in her eyes from falling. "You're just saying all of this so I'll go away, but I don't care. It won't work."

Emma grinned and wiped a tear that was falling down Hanna's cheek. "Oh, it's working."

Hanna shook her head. "I won't stop trying to help you, Emma!"

"Well then I guess you're just going to have to leave then." Emma lifted her hand.

Hanna shook her head, she knew exactly what Emma was going to do. She was about to protest when she felt herself being swept away.

Hanna opened her eyes and saw that she was back inside the loft.

"Damn it!" Hanna kicked the front door, then sighed when she heard Neal start to cry. This day just totally sucked.

"What is going on out here?" David said as he emerged from his bedroom.

Snow was close behind, bouncing Neal in her arms. "There you are," she said with a sigh of relief. "You were meant to be home over an hour ago. First you're late and now you come home shouting and…"

Hanna turned to face her parents, and they saw the look on her face.

"Oh sweetie what's wrong?" Snow said as she went to her daughter's side.

"Come here, kiddo." David pulled Hanna into his arms and held her tight.

Hanna wrapped her arms around her dad as a few tears fell down her cheeks. She was just so frustrated. Hanna knew was on to something with Emma. She wouldn't have tried so hard to get her to leave otherwise. Hanna knew Emma was hiding something.

David gently pulled Hanna back. He saw that she was crying and wiped the tears away. "Hanna, what happened?"

Hanna just sighed. "Nothing." She looked over to her mom and Neal. "I'm sorry I woke him."

Snow just smiled and shook her head. "Don't worry about him. He was due to wake up from his nap anyway."

Hanna nodded and just looked down, trying to stop more tears from spilling.

"Hey, look at me," Snow said as she gently lifted Hanna's chin. "What happened?" Snow had a feeling this all had something to do with Emma. There wasn't anything else that would cause Hanna to be this upset.

"Was it your sister?" David asked, thinking the same thing as his wife.

"Yeah," Hanna said as she used her sleeve to dry her eyes. "I tried talking to her, but she just got mad at me and sent me back here. I tried to get her to help Robin too, but…" Hanna just shook her head.

"Well, Robin is one thing you don't have to worry about anymore," Snow told her.

"Why? What happened?" Hanna could tell by the tone of her mom's voice that this was going to be good news.

"We were able to find a way to save him," David said. "We stood together with Regina. Your mom and I, Grumpy, and even Arthur—we all sacrificed a part of ourselves to that thing from the Underworld. It went away and now Robin is going to be just fine."

"Are you guys okay?" Hanna was worried about what sacrificing a part of themselves to that demon would do.

"We're okay," Snow assured her.

"We're good princess," David said, giving her a smile. We were thinking of going to get dinner at Granny's. How does that sound?"

Hanna shrugged. "I don't know…I don't think I'm really in the mood for…"

"Oh come on," David said. "We defeated a demon today. We have to celebrate."

"Plus…" Snow added. "We all need to eat, and we haven't had a chance to stock back up on groceries just yet."

"Okay fine," Hanna sighed. Now that she had a chance to calm down, she realized that she was a little bit hungry.

As her mom and dad got Neal ready, Hanna pulled out her phone and sent a quick text to Emma. She was pretty sure Emma was still mad at her, but Hanna wanted to invite her to dinner anyways.

Hanna sat in the booth at Granny's not bothering to touch her food. Maybe she wasn't as hungry as she thought. Her mom was sitting next to her and didn't seem to have taken a bite of anything either. Neal was lounging in Hanna's lap happily sucking his thumb. Henry was sitting with them earlier, but now he was over at the jukebox talking to some girl. Hanna could tell by her dress that she was definitely from Camelot. Hanna just snuggled her baby brother close and picked at the french fries on her plate. Every time she heard the door open, Hanna couldn't help but look up, hoping Emma would walk through. Hanna knew she probably wouldn't come though.

David noticed his girls weren't eating. "Hey you two," he said as he reached out to take their hands.

Hanna looked away from her mushy fries and tried to focus on what her dad was saying.

"It's okay. We're going to get Emma back, and we are going to win this fight," he assured them

"I know," Snow said. "You're forgetting one thing, David. If we win…Emma loses."

Hanna sighed and leaned into her mom, knowing she was right.
