(Third Person POV) Location: Patch, Grim Nest

Ruby and Yang had been exploring the inside of the Grim Nest for five minutes, and so far, neither of the two had found any Grim to eliminate, much to the older sibling's frustration.

"Seriously, where are they?!" Yang exclaimed before groaning.

The ten-year-old was pumped up to fight some Grim and wanted to test her weapons out on something, but there was no Grim to be seen. It was getting on her nerves as they shouldn't take this long to find!

"We haven't even been in here for that long, Yang," Ruby pointed out, looking at her older sister with amusement.

Despite being the youngest Ruby and the most energetic of the two, the eight-year-old was surprisingly more patient than her older sister.

The miniature Summer didn't mind exploring the Grim Nest, as this was her first time in one, and she wasn't in much of a rush to clear the area.

Although the young Seraph hybrid would agree that it was odd that no Grim was attacking them, Ruby wondered if the Grim were perhaps waiting for the perfect moment to strike them.

That thought quickly left her mind as she remembered Draco saying that Beta-Class Grims weren't intelligent enough to use ambush tactics and would attack the moment they sensed anything with emotions within a fifty-meter radius.

Ruby came to a single conclusion: the Grims were so deep within the area that she and Yang were outside their sensory radius, which would explain why they weren't fighting for their lives right now.

Ruby thought it made sense as she knew Draco wouldn't waste their time taking them here if the area was already cleared.

"It still shouldn't take this long to find!!" Yang threw her arms up in annoyance and grumbled. "Why do I feel like Draco 'forgot' to mention something important?"

Ruby giggled. "Because he most likely did," the girl replied, knowing Draco loved messing with them.

Draco would often "forget" to mention specific pieces of information that would've made tasks he gave them significantly easier for them to complete.

Every time they called him out on his crap, he'd just feign ignorance.

Ruby really liked the guy and looked up to him, but she would admit that the older Seraph was a jerk at times.

Yang sighed. "Yeah, you're probably right..."

The two continued to go deeper within the nest, and after a few minutes, they heard multiple footsteps running in their direction.

Ruby and Yang's eyes hardened, and they quickly prepared for battle.

Yang's weapons were a pair of ranged shot gauntlets, and Ruby's was a gigantic high-caliber sniper scythe.

A few seconds later, around fifteen humanoid-shaped Grims appeared and ran at them at full speed.

The one furthest head lunged toward them but was shot in the head by Ruby, killing it instantly.

Yang, on the other charged toward the group and landed a devastating sucker punch to the Closet Grim before ducking, narrowly evading a strike for the right side.

The blonde grabbed her attacker's arm before it could pull its limb back and snapped its arm in two.

Then she punched the Grim in the face with enough force that its head exploded like a balloon.

Meanwhile, Ruby eliminated any Grim that attempted to get near her while also watching her sister's back.

The young Seraph hybrid shot down two Grim that tried to get near Yang and then jumped back to evade an attack from the front.

Before the creature could react, Ruby vertically swung her weapon at the Grim, splitting it in two.

She then instinctively pointed the barrel of the scythe over her shoulder and pulled the trigger, killing a Grim that attempted to attack her from behind.

With Yang, she just killed a Grim by tearing it in half before flipping around and landing a devastating sidekick to the Grim that was behind her.

It fell to the ground and was about to get up, but Yang quickly pounced on it and stomped on its skull, crushing it.

The blonde then moved her head to the side to dodge an attack, and Ruby, acting quickly, shot Yang's attacker in the skull.

Yang then moved on to the next Grim. She ducked its swing, punched it in the ribcage, and then uppercutted it, sending it into the air.

However, before it could go too high, she grabbed it by the humanoid by the ankle and then slammed its body to the ground with all her might, causing the ground beneath it to crack.

Yang then raised her leg and smashed its skull in with the bottom part of her foot.

Meanwhile, Ruby eliminated the last of the Grim by slicing them into pieces.

Sensing that there weren't anymore, Grim left; the younger Seraph rested the top part of her mecha weapon on her shoulder and reloaded it with a new magazine.

Once Ruby was done with that, she looked at her sister and smiled.

"Well, that was easy."

Yang snorted. "No kidding," she then sighed. "But I feel like it's about to get worse."

Ruby nodded in agreement. "Knowing who sent us here, no doubt about it," she then set her mecha weapon into rifle mode. "You ready?"

Yang nodded. "Yeah, I didn't even need to use any ammo; these things were weak as shit," the blonde cursed, causing the younger of the two to gasp.

"Swear!!" Ruby pointed her finger at her sister, making the latter look at her with a deadpan expression.

"Seriously, Rubs?" Yang asked with an annoyed tone. "Draco's only four years older than me, and he cusses all the time, but you never get on his ass about it."

If anything, Draco encourages them to be more "creative" and expressive with their vocabulary.

"If you're old enough to kill Grim, you're old enough to cuss," Draco wisely quoted.

"That's because I'm terrified of him," the younger Seraph admitted truthfully.

"Eh, good point," Yang shrugged. "Anyways, let's kill the rest of these fuckers quickly and get the hell out of here. This place is creeping me out."

Ruby nodded, and both continued their exploration of the Grim Nest while occasionally eliminating any Grim that foolishly dared to attack them.

"How big is this place?" Ruby questioned.

If Draco said this Grim nest was considered small, then the young Seraph could only imagine the size of the bigger nests.

"Who fucking knows..." Yang replied, sighing.

They've been walking for nearly thirty minutes, and so far, they haven't found an end yet.

Neither of them would be surprised if there were an entire underground network under Patch that extended for several miles.

Little did they know that they were right on the money...

(With Draco and Summer)

"Who knew Yang had such a colorful vocabulary?" Draco commented with an amused tone.

"Jeez, whose fault that is?" Summer's tone was filled with annoyance and sarcasm.

Summer wished Draco wouldn't curse in front of the girls, but she knew it was partly her fault since she was aware the teenager wasn't exactly role model material. But still, it would be nice if he showed restraint.

"It's indeed a mystery," Summer scoffed at the young CEO's retort.

Before Draco brought the girls here, he planted microscopic video recorders on them, and both Seraphs had been watching them on Draco's scroll for the past half hour.

"Jackass." Summer sighed. "How much longer until they reach the Queen?"

"Another half hour if they kept at their pace without interruptions," Draco estimated. "Although it would be safe to say an hour at most two if they're unlucky."

Summer nodded at that. "I hope it's the former. I know you've been training them like crazy, but I still can't help but feel worried."

"I know, and you have every right to be. You wouldn't be a proper mother if you weren't," Draco said, smiling slightly. Summer glanced at him and was about to ask something, but before she could do that, a spine-chilling roar could be heard from the nest. Both Seraphs looked at the Scroll and saw a small horde of Grim advancing toward the girls. "Well, this isn't gonna be pretty."

"Wow, really, how'd you figure that?"

"You've been unusually snappy lately."

"I have to deal with your bullshit on a daily basis. Why wouldn't I be snappy?"

"Fair point."

End.
