Ch 76 Expanding the New Family
It's been almost a year and Helena has experienced a lot. She's been to many Regions after Sinnoh. Her relationship with her group is strong,
Helena's relationship with her Mentor has now become like Father and Daughter. Adam has taught her and introduced her to many of his Colleagues in the Regions they visited.
Her relationship with N as Siblings also grew stronger. Though Helena doesn't realize it, N has developed a rivalry with Steven. He often interferes during Dates, mainly to ensure Helena's safety.
Speaking of Steven, both Helena and him became very close. They spent a lot of time together, often helping her Research and her with his own Research.
Adam has taken note of how well these two work together. Even if they have different lines of study, they somehow find a connection between them.
For example, when they were in the Johto Region they found a new set of encrypted Murals with three Pokemon similar to the Legendary Trio of Johto. Not only that, but other things happened,
The Egg that Irina and Adam gave her hatched, and the Pokemon with the Egg turns out to be an Eevee.
Helena was ecstatic, hearing about how rare Eevees are. She and her Pokemon welcomed Eevee to her Team. Now she has a complete Team of Six Pokemon.
Traveling to Kanto, Helena observes her Ponyta and the Kantonian Ponyta studying their behavior. To her surprise, there are oddly similar,
Adam has introduced her to the famous Pokemon Professor, Samuel Oak. He showed them a Ponyta and Rapidash heard near his Laboratory.
Ponyta was getting along with her Kantonian counterpart, partially Family. This is an interesting expression for Helena in her Research.
They then traveled to Kalos where Helena was in awe at how similar the Region is to France. Even Lumiose Tower in Lumiose City was similar to Paris and the Eiffel Tower.
In the Kalos Region, Steven was invited to do an Exhibition match with the Champion of Kalos. The Famous Movie Star, Diantha.
Helena got front-row seats with N and Professor Ceder. She brought her Partner, Kirlia to watch the Battle after hearing that she uses a Gardevoir as her Partner.
Their Battle was intense, both using their respective Partner Pokemon to Battle. They even Mega Evolved once each Pokemon was nearly exhausted,
This inspired Kirlia after seeing her final Evolutionary Stage to get stronger.
After the Battle, Steven invited them to meet Diantha. She took notice of Helena and Kirlia, seeing the Bond between them similar to her and Gardevoir.
Diantha gave them a little advice to the two. 'A Bond like yours is very rare, listen to each other and you can find each other wherever you two are.' After that advice she gave them, she gifted Helena and Kirlia a white stone with a light green and pink symbol in the center.
A Gardevoirite, just for them. Like before, Steven offered to make something to hold the Gardevoirite.
Steven has made a crescent pendant that goes around Kirlia's neck. Kirlia was happy to receive the pendant that she considered a treasure.
After Kalos, they went to Alola where Lusamine welcomed them. She took them to the Pokemon School on Melemele Island.
There they met Professor Oak's cousin, the Headmaster of the Pokemon School. Helena found this to be a perfect opportunity to learn more about Regional Variants.
Though the Pokemon puns are a bit weak, his lessons are very informative and very engaging. Now she has a further understanding of Pokemon and their variants.
Now, it's been a few months since she started her Second Journey as Professor Ceder's Apprentice. However in order to complete her Apprenticeship, she has to take a class regarding her topic and take an exam to be a Professor.
As such their final destination is their destination is Naranja Academy, located in the Paldea Region.
They arrived at Paldea where they met with the Professor who was teaching the course. A Woman in her early twenties, with tan skin, grey-brown hair, and blue eyes. Her style of clothing was something from the Neolithic Age, jewelry out of stone arrows and her lab coat has fur on the collar.
Her name was Professor Carmen Sada, the leading Researcher of Ancient Pokemon forms. She has taken a few Classes in the Academy while N and Steven took a few Classes on their own.
The work was hard yet fun to learn. She spent a semester at the Academy, working towards her goal.
Adam was there, still doing the Apprenticeship by assisting him and Professor Sada in their Research on prehistoric Pokemon.
During her semester at Naranja Academy, she had the chance to explore the Region for a week. With her group, they travel throughout Paldea. There she caught herself a Fidough as a memento of her time in the Region. Unfortunately, she has to transport one of her Pokemon back to Hoenn.
Helena went for Hattrem, and though they spent some time together, she was feeling a bit homesick since most of her friends were still in the Daycare.
It's now the final semester for Helena and the exam was crunching on her.
Helena got dressed in a light pink blouse and a red skirt. She wore black leggings up to her knees and red shoes. She placed her pendant around her neck and adjusted her hair into a ponytail. "There, I'm ready for the day!" She took out her Pokeball, releasing her Partner for the day.
Eevee was released from her Pokeball, turning around to her Partner. "Eevee!" The Evolution Pokemon leaps into Helena's arms, smiling within them.
"You really are spoiled, Eevee." The young Researcher giggles, petting her newest Pokemon in her Team. "Well, it can't be helped, you'll grow out of it, Eevee," Helena commented.
"Eevee!" Eevee barks in joy before hearing someone knocking on their dorm door.
Both Helena and Eevee looked at each other, sharing the same thought about who was at the door.
Helena opened the door, revealing a trainer around her Age with dark green hair tied in a small rattail. She has amber eyes and wears a black shirt and brown leather jacket. She wore black pants and brown boots.
Around her neck was a choker with a metal circler at the center. She also wore black gloves and serval ear piercings. "Yo, good morning, Helena, Eevee, ready to start the Day?" The young trainer asked the black-haired Girl.
"Good morning to you too, Rika." Helena greeted her Friend, "I just finished dressing up, is everyone ready in the lobby?" She asked her Friend.
Rika nodded, confirming what Helena said. "Yep, Grusha and the others are there. They're just waiting for us to get there." The dark-green-haired trainer informed her,
Helena nodded, following Rika out of the Girls' Dormitory. They travel down the elevator, heading to the Lobby.
Down in the Lobby of Naranja Academy, N stood next to a young trainer in the outfit he wore in Sinnoh.
The trainer beside Helena's Brother was a feminine-looking Boy, he has the same hair color as Steven and eyes as well. He held his hair in a messy man-bun, he wore a red long-sleeve shirt, light-blue jeans, and a red and blue scarf with a Pokeball puff at the end. To complete the look was a pair of snowboarding goggles.
"Grusha, N!" The two Boys turned around, seeing Helena and Rika coming out of the elevator. "Were you two waiting long?" Helena asked the two, hoping they weren't an inconvenience.
N shook his head, answering his Sister. "No, we actually arrived here just a few minutes before you two did." The former King explains to Helena.
Rika looks around, seeing one other Person missing from their group. "Hey, Grusha, N, I don't see Steven with you." The dark-green-haired trainer said.
"Hmm? He was here just a few minutes ago." Grusha said, his eyes looked around for the young Champion. "Now where did he go?" He asked himself,
Helena places down Eevee from her arms, "Eevee?" The Normal-type looks up at her trainer, taking out her Rotom Phone.
Helena started to dial Steven's number, "I'll call him, finding out where he-EEP!"
"Gotcha!" Steven hugged Helena from behind, smiling at her. "Did I scare you?"
Helena laughs, pushing Steven's face away from her. "S-Steven, stop it." She giggles as he snuggles against her.
N rolled his eyes, crossing his arms. "Oi, remember no touching." The green-haired trainer glared at Steven like he always does. "School Rules and all, Steven."
The Steel-blue haired Boy chuckles, removing his arms from his Girlfriend. "I know, I know," Steven held his hand up, winking at Helena.
Helena giggles before looking at everyone. "Now, why did you do that, Steven?" She asked her Boyfriend,
"Is it wrong to have a little fun with you, Ellie?" Steven asked, being charming. Something he discovered when he dealt with Fans in the Johto Region.
That charming side seems to affect Helena too, so Steven decided to use it from time to time.
Grusha sighs, crossing his arms. "I swear, Cuz, you two look like a married couple." The Steel-blue haired trainer said, "It's getting a bit embarrassing."
Steven smirks at his Cousin, waving his hand at him. "Hey now, Grusha, is that how you speak to your older Cousin?" The young Champion asked the Ice-type trainer.
"Heh, just making a comment," Grusha held his hands behind his head,
Helena smiles, seeing Grusha teasing Steven like they were Children.
When they arrived at the Paldea Region, Steven told them that he has a Cousin living and attending a School there.
They met Grusha upon arrival at Naranja Academy along with his Friend, Rika. They all hit it off immediately,
Rika was easy to get along with, helpful, and easygoing. She and Helena spend some time together since the majority of their Classes were together,
Grusha Stone is a part of the Stone Family on Joseph's side of the Family. His Father owns a Ski Resort/Gym on top of Glaseado Mountain,
In all, they all made a unique group.
After Breakfast and feeding their Pokemon, the group left the Cafeteria and ready to head for their Classes. "Ellie, what do you have now?" Steven asked his Girlfriend,
"Just Paleology with Professor Sada and Ceder," Helena said before speaking to the young Champion. "If I remember, you have Geology now."
The Steel-blue haired trainer smiles, confirming what she said. "That's right, and we better get to them before we're late," Steven said, leaning in and kissing her on the cheeks. "I'll see you later,"
Helena blushed, nodding to his words. She waves him off before Rika leans in. "So, any plans with Steven, Ellie?" She asked slyly,
"W-Wha-N-No, not really just a look around in the Wild Area right outside Mesagoza City to search for Pokemon." Helena stutters, answering the dark green-haired trainer.
Rika crosses her arms, smirking at Helena. "Oh? You're stuttering, that means something's going on," The young trainer raised her eyebrow.
N stares at his Sister, curious about what the two are doing. "Helena, keep your guard up when you're alone with Steven." He said, still protective over her.
"Hey, you know Steven won't do anything indecent to Ellie," Grusha said, backing up his Cousin.
N has slowly gotten used to the idea of Steven dating his Sister, but he rather give him a hard time when he gets the chance. Helena is still his Sister, and her safety is his top priority. "I know, but I still want to make sure he's good for Helena."
Grusha chuckles, patting his back. "You sound like you're her Dad-" He paused realizing that both N and Helena are Siblings. "Scratch that, you two are Siblings plus your Ellie's older Brother."
N chuckles, heading to his Pokemon Care Class.
In the Paleology Class, Helena wrote down the notes that Professor Sada and Ceder wrote on the board.
"Now, before you all leave Class today, remember that we have a very special trip coming soon." Professor Sada informed her Class as Professor Ceder continued.
"This trip will be very important, what you learn from the trip will be on your exam." The blue and blonde-haired Professor turns to the Students that are here for other reasons, "As for those who are aiming to be a Professor, this exam will determine if you get your diploma or not."
Soon the bell rang, prompting everyone to pack their bags. Helena did so, only to hear her name called. "Helena, can you come here for a second?"
The black-haired trainer looks at Professor Ceder, motioning his hand to come over. Helena walks over to the Professors, answering their call. "Yes, Professor?" She asked her Mentors.
"Helena," Professor Sada looks at the young Researcher, "You've been doing exceedingly well in the Class since you've been doing so well. However, I heard from Professor Ceder that you can't get in contact with your Guardian." She asked,
"That's right, they lived rather away from the Pokemon World and it's a bit hard to contact them," Helena explains, knowing there's no way to contact Sirius, "Is it something important?"
The grey-brown-haired Professor interlocked her fingers, "Well usually have a Parent Teacher conference about this, however…"
"However?" Helena asked, raising her eyebrow.
Adam steps forward with a smile on his face. "I offered myself to act as your Guardian in the meantime," The blue and blonde-haired Professor informed his Student. "I do hope that is all right with you, Helena."
Helena remained silent, not expecting that her Mentor would act as her Guardian. This was a lot for her to answer right away. "I-If I could, can I think over it?" She asked.
"Of course, I wouldn't expect you to answer right away, Helena," Adam said, not wanting to force her to make a major decision.
Professor Sada agreed with her Colleague, "Yes, take all the time you need, Helena."
After the meeting with the Professors, Helena met up with Steven outside of Mesagoza City.
The two made their way to an open field, having made their way through the Wild Area.
Helena walked beside Steven, sporting a simple button-down purple shirt and black jeans. She wore a simple white dress. 'Professor Ceder…as my Guardian…' Helena ponders what the two Professors offered her.
It's something she hasn't put much thought into it. She does have N as her adopted Brother now, but she never had anyone close to a Parent figure.
"Helena, is something on your mind?" Helena looks at Steven, hearing him call her name. "You seem to be a bit off." He continues, concerned over her.
Helena smiles, as usual, not wanting to ruin the day with her Boyfriend. "It's nothing you have to worry about, Steven." She said, walking down the path to the beach. "Professor Ceder and Sada told me about my progress in the Classes I'm taking and doing exceedingly well."
The Steel-blue haired trainer was happy to hear that his Girlfriend was doing good in Class. "That's great Ellie, but you seem to be sad about it," Steven asked, still seeing her face sad. "Are you not happy with your Grades?"
"No, it's not that," Helena said, walking to the Beach, and turning to Steven, "Professor Sada asked about meeting my Parent/Guardian, and you know what happened," She told her Boyfriend what happened.
Steven nodded, "Yeah and you said that your Godfather is still in your old home." He said, placing down a Beach towel on the sand. The two then released their Pokemon all, smiling at the warm sun.
Helena smiles at them, indicating to go and enjoy themselves, "All right everyone, enjoy the Beach and keep a close distance to us." They all cheered as they left to do whatever they want to do at the Beach.
Her newest Pokemon, Fidough whimpers, unfamiliar with the area. Helena kneels to the Fairy-type Pokemon, "Don't worry, Fidough, everyone will be with you."
Kirlia approaches Fidough, patting him on the back. "Kirlia, Kirl!" The Emotion Pokemon smiles as Eevee joins in.
"Eevee, Eev!" Eevee ran around the Puppy Pokemon as she led the way.
Fidough wags his tail and runs with Kirlia as they try to tag Eevee.
The young Researcher smiles before sitting next to him before continuing. "Professor Ceder has offered to be my Guardian for that," Helenna said, receiving a surprised expression from the young Champion.
"Wait, really?" Steven asked, placing his hand on his chin. "Well, that makes sense. You are Sixteen, something like that should be discussed with a Parent." The young Champion commented,
"Before I officially become Hoenn Champion, Chairwoman Blanche has to talk to my Parents about my new responsibility." The Steel-blue haired Champion said, understanding what their Mentor was doing. "Professor Ceder most likely wants someone to look after you and N. He wants to make sure you two have someone support you on this."
Helena nodded, seeing Steven's view of her situation. The only thing she has was her Parents' inheritance she had in the Bank, other than N and his Sisters whom she adopted, and her Pokemon, she has no other Family here. It'll be nice to have someone else who takes the role of Guardian,
"Seems like I keep going to you with every little problem I have, Steven," Helena said, feeling bad that her Boyfriend has to act like a Counselor for her.
The young Champion shook his head, knowing full well what it means to be a Boyfriend. "I don't mind, I know that you do the same for me if I have any problems of my own," Steven said before getting up,
"Steven, what are you-" Helena paused, seeing him kicking off his shoes and socks, then proceeded to remove his button shirt,
Helena blushed, seeing Steven's shirtless body. She could tell that he's been working out lately, he has some definition. He has developed a six-pack which has taken notice first. "Uh…w-what are you doing, Steven?" She asked, looking away and hiding her face.
Steven looks at his Girlfriend, "Taking off my clothes, I'm going for a swim." He said, motioning to the Ocean. "It's a hot day, wanna join me?" The young Champion asked,
Feeling a bit hot, she decided to join Steven. "Alright then," She kicks off her shoes, walking beside her Boyfriend before moving a bit faster.
"Helena, where are-"
"Last one there is a rotten egg!" Helena giggles, running to the shore.
Steven blinks before laughing at the game Helena was playing with him. "Oh, you're on!" He chased her, rushing into the shore and splashing water at Helena.
Helena gasps, being soaked by Steven and seeing him laugh at her. A mischievous smile etched on her face as she puts her hand in the water before splashing water in his face.
She giggles at the shocked expression, water dripping down from his hair. "Y-Your face now…it's priceless, hahahahaha!" Helena points to her Boyfriend,
"Oh, you think this is funny, Ellie?" Steven smirks, splashing a bigger wave of water at her.
"Steven!" Helena giggles, looking at the before continuing to splash water in his face.
The two laugh, enjoying the water as they playfully splash each other.
This continued until the Sun was setting near the horizon. Helena never had this much fun with anyone before, her eyes saw the setting Sun and felt disappointed. "Steven, the Sun is setting," She said, standing in the water.
Steven looks at the Sun, knowing what it means. "Well, look at that. I say that's one of many beautiful Sunsets I've seen." He commented,
"Yeah, it was fun when it lasted," Helena said before screaming when she felt someone pick her up. "S-Steven, w-what are you doing?" She asked, being carried like a Princess in Steven's arms.
"Well, we went to the deepest part of the shore. I don't want you to slip on a loose rock." Steven explains his reasons why he's doing this,
Helena looks down, seeing the rocks were a bit steeper and that she fell a bit when playing in the water. "I-I see your point." She said, blushing furiously as she hugged him. (Insert My Happy Marriage, the Meeting)
Once they got to shore, Steven gently set her down on the towel as their Pokemon gazed at the Sunset.
Steven sat down next to Helena, as she leaned in on his arm. "Say, I was thinking,"
"About what?" Steven asked, not moving from his spot,
"About Professor Ceder being both mine and N's Guardian," Helena said, telling him what was on her mind. "I think I should do it, not only for my benefit as becoming a Researcher but to have someone to look up to."
Steven nodded, "Whatever your plan is, I want to support it." He looks at his Girlfriend, seeing how she has grown during her Second Journey of hers. "Having someone to look up to is great."
The young Champion smiles, giving a mischievous look at the young Researcher. "And by any chance you…look up to me?" Steven asked, receiving a playful shove from Helena. "H-Hey now, that isn't nice."
"You started it," Helena responded before answering his question. "And yes, I do look up to you, Steven." She said.
"You're confident in Pokemon Battles, helping others who are in need, and not to mention that you can be sweet sometimes." Helena listed the things that made her admire him, "That's what makes you, well you. And I love that about it," She said as they looked at each other.
Steven leans in, holding her hand. "And you already know what I love about you, Helena?" He asked,
"What?" Helena asked, looking up at his sparkling Steel-blue eyes.
"You're smart, stubborn at times, strong in your own way, and considerate of others," Steven said, hearing his Girlfriend giggle.
Helena giggles, raising her eyebrow. "Really? Is that all?" She asked, leaning closer to him.
Steven leans in, their lips almost touching as he answers her question. "Not all, but there's one thing that I know that you don't that makes you special." He said, both kissing each other.
"You're Helena Potter, the beautiful Person I've met."
