AN: So people are asking me when the New Trio, Sirius, and Remus are coming. There will be one more arc where Helena establishes herself as a Professor in Hoenn among other things. This involves Team Magma and Aqua then after that ordeal will be a time skip and then the Wizards are coming.
Ch 77 Area Zero
Throughout the semester, Helena worked her very best in the Classes. She accomplished what must be done to be able to graduate and earn her degree to be a Pokemon Professor.
Helena has finished her Paleology Class, already packed her belongings. She then spots Professor Ceder talking to Professor Sada,
Already deciding on her choice, Helena approaches her Mentor and tells him what her answer is. "Professor Ceder," The young Researcher called his name,
The blue and blonde-haired Professor lifts his head, turning to Helena and hearing her call him. "Yes, what is it, Helena?" Adam asked his Student.
"I know it's been a while since you asked me about the offer…." The young Ability User started to speak, and Adam caught on to what she was trying to say.
"I see," The young Professor placed his hand on his chin, "And what is your answer, my faithful student?" Adam asked, adding a little flare to his words.
Camila Sada turns to her Colleague, raising her eyebrow at him. "Really? Are you going to use that?" The Professor of Pokemon Paleology asked.
Adam grins, placing both his hands behind her head. "Anyways, go ahead Helena." He said, giving her the chance to say what she wants to say.
The young trainer nodded, answering Adam's question. "I have talked to N about this and he agreed to it," Helena explains, stopping her sidetracking. "Professor Ceder, I accept you as both mine and N's Guardian."
The blue and blonde-haired Professor turns to Camila, "Say, Camila, now that I'm Helena's official Guardian, will that be all right with you?" Adam asked the Lead Researcher if it's alright with this.
"I think it'll be fine," Professor Sada said, allowing this recent confirmation of the Guardianship of Helena and N. "Also, will you be there for N when he finishes his Studies in Caring for Pokemon?" The grey-brown haired Professor asked,
Adam nodded, accepting the role of being N's Guardian. "Of course, N is like a Son to me. He keeps surprising me with what he does." He said, sharing what he experienced with N to the Professor.
Helena smiles, happy that her Mentor has taken a liking to her Brother. "Alright then, I'll see you with Helena at the end of this semester, Professor Ceder." Professor Sada spoke before gazing over at her. "And for you, Helena, I'll see you when we're leaving for the trip to Area Zero tomorrow."
"Hai," Helena nodded, smiling with excitement.
After the small meeting with the Professors, Helena met up with her Friends in the Cafeteria.
"Ah, I can't wait for the Trip to Area Zero!" Rika stretches on the table, expressing her excitement for the Trip.
N chuckles, his hands folded on the table. "Speaking of Area Zero, what is it?" The former King asked his Friends. "Everyone is talking like it's an important place to the Paldea Region." He commented,
Grusha leans back, answering his green-haired friend. "That's because, Area Zero is the center of Paldea, the Mountain at the Center of the Region." The Steel-blue haired trainer explains to his Friend. "There was a Professor in the Past who went on an Expedition in Area Zero where they encountered some Pokemon from the Past."
"Really? That sounds farfetched if you ask me." Steven commented unsure of what he said was true. "How can an Ancient Pokemon from the Past be in Area Zero when the Revival Machine?" He asked the group.
"It's not that farfetched you may think Steven," Helena said, looking at her Boyfriend. "I remember that Professor Oak said there are certain places in the World where there are a few places that Ancient Pokemon continue to live in isolated areas." She commented,
Rika nodded, smiling and hearing what the black-haired Girl said. "Yep, and Area Zero is one of those isolated Areas." The trainer said, pumping her fist in the air. "Ah! I can't wait for the trip, I wish it would come sooner,"
Helena laughs, seeing Rika excited for the trip. "Well, you gotta wait Rika. We still have a lot to do before the Trip," She commented, hearing her groan at the reminder.
"Yeah…it sucks,"
They all laugh at Rika's displeasure; soon enough weeks went by, and the Day to Area Zero.
At the Courtyard, a gathering of Students wearing Expedition Clothing. Tan pants with tan vests, to differentiate between the Students they wore different color shirts under the vests.
Helena wore the same tan clothing as everyone else. Under her vest, she wore a pink dress shirt and had her hair in a ponytail. She held Kirlia in her arms, looking around at the many Students who showed up.
"I didn't expect this much of a turnout of Students," Helena commented, looking around her.
"Kirlia…" The Duel-type nodded, looking around as well.
"Wow, you really look good in those clothing," Helena turns around, seeing Steven standing behind her.
Helena smiles, taking note that he wasn't wearing his Expedition Suit. "You're not coming Steven?" She asked, curious why he wasn't dressed up.
The Steel-blue haired Champion chuckles, scratching the back of his head. "Well…" Steven chuckles, "I did want to go, but turns out I have a Geology test today and can't miss it."
"So you have a test today? I guess it falls to me to watch over Helena." N walks up to the Hoenn Champion, smiling at the unfortunate situation he found himself in.
"N, you're ready to go?" Helena asked, seeing N dressed similarly to hers but with a green shirt underneath his vest. "You look like you're ready,"
N nodded, excited to join Helena on this Research Trip together, (and also Steven won't be joining them). "Yes, I'm very excited to see what we're going to see in Area Zero." He commented, looking at Steven with a sly look in his eyes.
Steven just simply smiles, hiding his jealousy from him. "I do hope you two have a fun time," He said, not wanting to ruin this for his Girlfriend. He then felt someone slap his back, causing him to hack.
"Hahahaha, don't worry I'll keep an eye on them, Steven." Rika slaps Steven's back, not realizing how much strength she has.
"R-Rika…" Steven chuckles lightly, recovering from the slap on the back by the dark green-haired trainer.
Helena smiles, approaches Steven, and kisses him on his cheek. She saw him blush, not expecting that from her but welcomed it. "You don't need to worry about me, Steven. But I do appreciate your concern for me."
"Besides, I'm a capable trainer who can take care of myself," Helena said, looking down at her arms. "And Kirlia along with my other Pokemon with me." She commented, motioning to her Partner.
Kirlia nodded, giving a proud expression that she'll protect her. "Kirlia," She proudly announced,
Everybody lightly laughs at Kirlia proudly announcing that she'll protect her Partner.
"Ahem, if I could have everyone's attention, please?" A middle-aged man wearing an orange coat with the Academy Logo on the side pocket and white pants.
Everyone looked at the director of Naranja Academy, standing with Professor Sada and Professor Ceder. "Thank you, today those who are in the Paleology, Pokemonoloy, and other departments in that field will embark on a restricted section in the Paldea Region. The Great Crater"
"This restricted section is also known as Area Zero, a place where mysteries of the Region still remain unsolved." Director Clavell explains to the Students of Naranja Academy. "Before you go in, Professor Sada and Professor Ceder have a few things to say."
Director Clavell turns to the Instructors in charge of the Trip, giving them the stage.
Professor Sada smiles, walking where Director Clavell once stood. "Thank you, director," The Professor of Paleology said, addressing the Students. "Now, everyone this Trip is very important. To be able to graduate you need to complete this assignment during our Trip."
"The assignment is to locate a Fossil of an Ancient Pokemon or if lucky take a photo of the Pokemon within Area Zero." Professor Ceder continued, explaining what is to be expected on this assignment. "Now., let's get going!" He cheered,
Everyone cheered, including Helena. She then turns to Steven as most of the Students were ready to leave. "I'll see you later, Steven."
"Yeah, see you when you get back, Ellie," Steven said, watching as the group left for Area Zero.
Transversing through Paldea's Routes, the Bus arrived at the Mountain Base near the Great Crater.
The Students got off the Bus, gathering around the Mountain Base.
Helena looks up at the Great Crater, amazed by how large the outer layer of the Great Crater was. "Amazing, this is probably the biggest Crater I've ever seen." She commented,
"Kirlia," Kirlia nodded, looking up at the outer layer. She feels an immense Power just by looking at the Great Crater.
"So this is the Great Crater," N walks up next to Helena, looking up at the Crater together. "They say that the Great Crater was created when a King shot a powerful Superweapon to end a War between Paldea and Kalos." He commented, seeing that even in the Past, People can be inconsiderate of Pokemon.
Helena looks over at her Brother, smiling at him. "At least there's no more major conflict in the Modern Era to worry about, right N?" She asked,
The green-haired trainer nodded, "Yes, at least there aren't any conflicts in this day and Age." N commented,
Rika walks behind the two, placing both her hands on her hips. "Welp, here we are! Paldea's famous landmarks. The Attack that causes this Carter has some effect on the Region that causes us to be able to use Terastallize." The dark green-haired trainer explains to the two.
"Terastallize? Isn't it when you use a special Pokeball to change a Pokemon's Typing or boost their original Typing?" N asked, remembering hearing about it throughout the School.
"I know about it," Helena said, turning to both her Friend and her Brother. "Steven was studying about it and did participate in a Battle a few weeks backs." She said, remembering watching some Practice Battles.
She saw Steven Terastallize Claydol, Terastallizing him into a Psychic-type. Which was great against the Terastallized Fighting-type Pokemon. In short, the Battle ended quickly, nothing less from the Hoenn Champion.
"Huh, I would suspect as much from him," N added, already knowing her Sister's Boyfriend long enough to know him.
Soon the Students gathered around the Professors, calling them over. "Alright everyone, from here we're on foot." Professor Sada informed the group of Students. "The path from the Great Crater to Area Zero will be steep. So be ready to encounter strong Pokemon." She informed the Student Body.
Professor Ceder smiles, motioning his hands to the pathway. "This way everyone, the Research Station is just a few miles up." The blue and blonde-haired Professor announces,
The group of Students traveled up the path to the tip of the Great Crater. They encountered a few strong Pokemon, but they were nothing when it comes to a large group of experienced trainers.
Eventually, they made it to the Research Station, where Professor Sada's Research Team was already there. Walking in, the Students were greeted by many Research on the Crater and Area Zero.
Many Students went around the Research Station, looking at the research they collected.
Helena approaches a skull of a large Elephant like Pokemon. The Tusks were large and curved, similar to a Mammoth. "Great Tusk, an Ancient form of Donphan. This creature resembles a mysterious Pokémon that, according to a paranormal magazine, has lived since ancient times." She read the description at the bottom.
"So this is what an Ancient Donphan looks like," Helena commented, looking at the Skull and could see the similarities between Great Tusk and Donphan.
Kirlia was intrigued by the Fossilized Skull of an Ancient Pokemon. "Kirlia," She then noticed N walking up to them. "Kirlia?"
N smiles at the Duel-type, turning to Helena. "What an interesting Ancient Donphan Fossil." The green-haired commented, looking at the Fossil.
Helena turns to N, already knowing he walked behind her. "I know right?" She smiles before asking N something. "So how is it so far?"
"What is? The trip?" N asked, receiving a nod from his Sister. "It's interesting, I've been learning things I've never had the chance to learn." He turns his head to the Fossilized Skull,
"Also, these Fossilized Pokemon are very interesting." N turns around, showing a Fossilized Feather in a crescent formation. "This one peculiar has caught my attention,"
Helena follows her Brother, standing before the Fossilized Feather and bits and pieces of Skulls. The piece lines up with a familiar head shape. "Roaring Moon, According to an article in a dubious magazine, this Pokémon has some connection to a phenomenon that occurs in a certain region." N read the description.
N placed his hand on his chin, "Based on the Skull formation and description, it's similar to Salamence's Mega Evolved form." The green-haired trainer commented, making an observation.
"I believed when Salamence Mega Evolved, they attain a fraction of their previous power." N theorized, showing some interest in Helena's field.
"Now that's an interesting Theory, young man." A voice said, coming from behind them. The two Siblings turn around, seeing a familiar face.
N blinks, never seeing this Person before. "Who are-"
"Wyscan, I should've expected you would be here." Helena greeted the blonde man, still wearing his outfit from the many times she encountered him. "The last time I saw you was when me and Professor Ceder were in Ecruteak City at the Burned Tower." She commented.
"Yep, the story about the Burned Tower is really intriguing. After that, I went around looking for similar Legends in other Regions." Wyscan commented, crossing his arms. "It's a shame that I didn't catch you and Professor Ceder in Alola, Kanto, Sinnoh, and Kalos. Hmm? Now who's this with you?" the blonde Man asked, catching N standing next to his Friend.
Helena turns to N, introducing the both of them to each other. "Wyscan, this is my Brother, N. He's studying Caring for Pokemon." She introduced the former King of Team Plasma to her Friend and vice versa. "N, this is Wyscan. He studies Ancient Pokemon Ruins and Myths like Cynthia. He's usually with another Professor but went on his own Journey for his own Research."
Wyscan smiles, extending his hand to the young trainer. "A pleasure to meet you, N." He greeted him before saying something unexpected. "(Don't worry, your secret is safe with me…your Majesty.)" He winks at him, indicating that he knows about N's background.
"What do you mean by-" N felt a tug on his sleeve, prompting him to look.
Helena smiles, looking at her Brother. "N, you can trust Wyscan. Believe it or not, he's very well informed of the ongoings in the World." She said, trusting Wyscan to keep that part of N's Past a secret.
"Yes, if you need anything," Wyscan pulled out his contact information, "You can call me on this number." He handed the card to the green-haired trainer,
N took Wyscan's information number, checking it out before hearing the Professors announce they'll be heading down to Area Zero.
"Well, that's my cue. I have to do some things here as a favor for Professor Sada." Wyscan winks, turning around to head back to his post. "See you two around, my little Friends."
"I don't get it, something about him is…off," N said, can't help but be suspicious of Wyscan. "But, he's genuinely kind, in a weird way."
Helena smiles and then looks at N, still looking at the information card. "You should keep that on you," She advises him, believing that in some part in the future, he might need Wyscan's assistance.
Soon everyone got on onto an elevator and travel down to Area Zero. Once they got off the elevator, Professor Ceder steps forward. "Alright everyone, do you remember what your assignment is?" The blue and blonde-haired Professor asked.
"Hai!"
Professor Ceder nodded, smiling at his Students. "Alright, you got until five o'clock to finish with the assignment." He announces that everyone obliges to the time limit.
Soon enough everyone went into the forest, searching for the Ancient Pokemon. Helena was teamed up with Rika and N,
"So, how do we find these Ancient forms of Pokemon?" Helena asked, moving some leaves away from them.
Rika followed Helena, walking behind her. "Based on the Researchers' research, they tend to be elusive." The dark-green-haired trainer informed his group, remembering what they said.
N nodded, knowing one thing to do. "Then there's one thing to do," He looks around the area they were in, "Look for any tracks and clues on where they are. That should lead us to them."
"Kirlia!" The Emotion Pokemon agrees with N's suggestion.
"Great suggestion N," Rika commented, also agreeing with his suggestion.
Helena smiles, looking forward. "Then let's keep an eye out for anything that would be made by Ancient Pokemon." The young Researcher said, pumping up the group.
The three walk through the greenery, encountering Rare Pokemon, however, they weren't the ones they were searching for. It's been almost two hours since Helena, N, and Rika started to explore Area Zero.
"We've been traveling for two hours already," Rika commented, walking through the brush.
"I agree, we've been walking around and haven't found anything related to an Ancient Pokemon," N commented, stopping to get a drink of water.
"Kirlia, la," Kirlia nodded, assisting with the search but came up with nothing.
Helena turns to her Brother and Friend, still optimistic about finding something. "Hey, we still have three more hours before we head back." The black-haired trainer stated, "We got plenty of time to somehow find an Ancient Pokemon here and-WAH!"
"HELENA!" N reached out, grabbing his Sister's arm before she fell to the dirt.
Helena gave a light chuckle, seeing she almost fell into mud. Luckily, Kirlia was still in her arms, "Heh, that was clos-huh?" Staring down into the mud, she could see tracks, freshly made.
These tracks were made by any Modern Pokemon, indicating that they have found one. Being lifted to her feet, Helena showed Kirlia, N, and Rika the tracks. "Hey, I think I found some fresh tracks." Helena points to them.
Kirlia looks down at the mud, seeing the tracks. "Kirlia!?" She exclaims, excited that they found some.
"Wait, really?" The dark-green-haired trainer asked, looking down at the mud. "Wow, you're right Elli!" Rika turns to N, wanting to know if he could figure out where they were leading.
"N, you're in Caring for Pokemon Classes right?" Rika asked the former King of Team Plasma. "Can you tell us more about them and where they lead?"
N kneels to the ground, placing his hand on the mud. He traces over the track prints, looking forward he got a good idea where the Pokemon that made the tracks went. "This way, the Pokemon who made this is heading to a water source."
"In short, they're going to a watering hole," Helena commented, smiling that they are this close to finding one Ancient Pokemon. "Seems like we have a lead,"
Rika nodded, taking out her brown Rotom Phone. "Okay, you two, get your Rotom Phones ready-er, I mean your regular Phone for you N." She smiles at N, knowing he doesn't like the idea of using Rotom Phones.
N smiles, taking out his regular smart Phone, prepped for use. "Follow me, I can lead you where the Ancient Pokemon is heading." He leads the Girls further into the forest where they eventually made it to a watering hole.
A loud roar caught the four's attention, prompting Rika to take out her Pokeball. N held his hand up, making the Girls halt, he then signaled them to move forward, closer to the watering hole.
Reaching a hill, Helena peers over, seeing the Ancient Pokemon. A Pokemon they haven't met nor anyone have discovered. "I-Is that what we've been following?" Helena asked,
"Kirlia…" Kirlia was amazed by what she was seeing.
"I don't think Professor Sada or Ceder saw this Ancient Pokemon," Rika added, impressed by the sight.
N looks closer at the Pokemon, seeing the Pokemon seeing it share a similar appearance to a Pokemon. "It looks like…."
