Ch 85 A Fateful Night
It's been a few days already and they have done quite a bit to the old Daycare. They have cleared out the damaged windows, taken out the rotten wood from areas where they appeared, and removed the cracked tiles from the floors.
N was working along with his Pokemon to clean the front and backyard, mowing the grass, pulling out weeds, and trimming trees, bushes, and overgrown vines. Some of the Pokemon join him since it's a large area to clean.
Adam has been fixing up the roof, hammering the holes with freshly new wood. His Leafeon has been assisting him by holding down the wood in place for him,
As for Helena, she sweeps the entire Daycare of dust with the help of their Pokemon. After she finished dusting the Daycare, she realized it was a big house to fix. "The roof is being fixed by Professor Ceder…the outside is being taken care of by N and his Pokemon…and the dust has been cleared…"
"Kirlia?" Kirlia looks at her Partner, hearing her list of things that need to be done.
"Eevee?" Eevee looks at Helena, after sweeping the stairs, leaping down from the bottom of the stairs.
Helena looks down at her Pokemon, smiling at them. "Oh, it's nothing, just making a mental list of what to do." She said before hearing his Mentor coming down from the roof.
She turns to the opening where a window should be, "Helena, we need more nails, do you mind getting some nails at the Store and some wooden planks as well?" Adam asked his Student to which Helena obliged,
"Yes, Professor." Helena turns to Eevee, deciding she'll accompany her to the Store. "Eevee, you'll be coming with me. Kirlia, can you continue sweeping the place with Gallade?" She asked her main Partner to stay,
Kirlia nodded, knowing there were a lot of things to do here. "Kirlia!" The Duel-type raised her hand, indicating she was happy to stay and clean.
"Gallade," Gallade steps forward, holding a broom in his hand.
"Thank you, Gallade, Kirlia. We'll be back when we get the needed supplies from the Store." Helena explains to N's newest Pokemon, motioning to Eevee to come over.
The Normal-type quickly ran over to her Partner, leaping into her arms. "Eevee!" Eevee cheered, being held by Helena in her arms.
The two left the Daycare House, heading into Rustboro City to the Store for supplies.
Walking through the City, Helena went into the Hardware Store and purchased the supplies needed to repair the old Daycare. Helena walks out of the Store with a bag of supplies in her hand while Eevee is walking beside her.
Helena looks down at the bag, checking over the purchased items. "Let's see, I got the receipt for the wooden planks and new glass windows that Professor Ceder requested and the nails…some electrical tape for the loose wiring, hmm…Eevee, I feel like we've got everything." She turns to her Partner, asking if she has missed anything.
"Eevee," The Evolution Pokemon shook her head, seeing they had everything they needed.
"If you say so Eevee," Helena smiles, appreciating her Pokemon's assistance. She then looks at the time on a Building, seeing it's getting a bit late. "Well, it's a bit late. We should head back, Eevee,"
Eevee nodded before her ears flinched, "Eevee?" She turns around, seeing a familiar face. "Hmm? Ellie, what a coincidence running into you." Steven walks up to his Girlfriend.
Helena smiles, looking at the Steel-blue haired Champion. "Well, it's nice to see you too, Steven." She greeted her Boyfriend, before starting up a conversation with him. "Did you just return from Evergrande City?" She asked,
Both she and Steven's relationship grew naturally during the past months since that incident. They often go on dates, spend time together, and often tell each other about their Day.
Once, when Steven got sick, Helena went to his apartment to take care of him. When he felt better, Steven offered her to come by any time
Steven nodded, answering Helena. "Yep, we just finalized the upcoming Pokemon League season." The Champion said, telling her what he's been doing. "Soon enough it'll be another Battle for the title of Champion."
"I heard from Roxanne about that," Helena said, remembering Roxanne speaking about the upcoming Gym Run. "I'd also heard that you'll be bringing in new Gym Leaders to replace those who retire."
Steven sighs, scratching the back of his head. "Yeah, it was a difficult process but we were able to find someone to replace the Petalburg City's empty Gym Leader position." The Steel-blue-haired Champion explains, remembering the Paperwork that came with searching for the perfect applicant.
"We managed to find someone who's perfect for that position." Steven informed Helena, "Plus Flannery's Grandfather has passed the mantle of Gym Leader to her recently and also there's Rachel who decided to pass the role of Gym Leader to her Children, Tate and Liza."
Helena smiles, taking note of the hard work Steven has been doing for Hoenn. "That sounds like you were busy for the past few weeks." She said, mentioning the timeframe he's been working.
The Champion nodded, "Yep, but it's the role of Champion to look after their Region and their People." Steven said before taking note of the bag Helena had in her hands. "Were you going somewhere just now?" He asked her.
"Oh, right, I was just buying some supplies to repair the old Daycare House both Professor Ceder and N are repairing." Helena explains to her Boyfriend, "It's going to be our new Lab once it's fully repaired.'
"That's great, I knew someday that you'll be able to get your Lab. Just like you dreamed of," Steven smiles, genuinely happy for Helena achieving her dream of owning her Lab. "Say, my Father said that there's a Cave in Dewford Island. I was wondering when you have everything set, do you want to go spelunking with me?" He asked his Girlfriend.
Helena smiles, raising her brow at Steven. "Are you asking me on a Date?" The Ability User asked her Boyfriend,
Steven smiles, "Yes…" He confirms what Helena has suspected before asking her another question. "Do you want to, Ellie?" He asked her.
"Sounds tempting," Helena playfully said before giving her real response. "It does sound fun. Yeah, I'm down with that," She responded, wanting to go with Steven.
"Great-" Steven paused, feeling something wet from the sky.
Helena and Eevee did as well, looking up at the sky. Dark clouds started to roll in, and soon a small drizzle began. "Oh, it's starting to rain." She stated,
"Based on those clouds, it's going to be a downpour," Steven said, seeing the dark clouds. He turns to the black-haired young Woman, "It's best to find shelter from the rain," He says,
Steven took Helena's hand, causing her to blush. "My Apartment is nearby; you can take shelter there for the time being." He offered his Home to Helena,
Seeing there's no other way, Helena agrees to Steven's offer. "Alright, just let me call back Eevee. If we're running, she might get lost." Helena said, taking out Eevee's Pokeball,
Helena turns to Eevee, aiming her Pokeball at her. "Eevee, return." She calls back her Pokemon, returning the Normal-type into her Pokeball.
She turns to Steven, ready to go with him. "Alright, Steven, I'm ready to go," Helena said, ready to return with Steven as the rain came.
The couple ran down the sidewalk, covering their heads from the downpour. Soon, both Steven and Helena arrived at a large Apartment Complex,
Steven led Helena into the lobby, where they greeted the Front Desk Manager. "Welcome back, Mr. Stone, I see you two were a bit late before the rain hit." The Manager commented, looking at the Couple. "You two are drenched," He smiles,
"Yeah, the rain came faster than we expected," Steven said, feeling water dripping from his hair.
Helena smiles at the Front Desk Manager, greeting him as always. "Hello, Albert, it's good to see you again." She greeted him.
Albert nodded, "Same here, Professor Potter." He said before seeing her clothes wet as well from the rain. "You two better head up before you catch colds," He advises the two, as they walk to the elevator.
Steven waves his hand at the Front Desk, hearing what he said.
Entering Steven's Apartment was a decently large Apartment with at least four bedrooms, a large living room, a dining room, a kitchen, and two Bathrooms. One in the masters bedroom and the other for anyone to use, both with showers.
Steven used his bathroom in the hallway, letting Helena use the master bedroom since she was his guest.
Steven walked out of the bathroom, drying his hair with his towel. He wore some blue pajama pants and a blue muscle shirt, "Um, Steven?" He turns around and sees Helena sticking her head from his room.
Her hair was wrapped around in the extra towel he lent her. He blushed, realizing she was naked prompting him to turn away. "Um…ahem, is there something you need, Helena?" Steven asked.
"I-I just realized that my clothes were wet and…I didn't bring extra clothes…" Helena shamefully admitted, her eyes darted down to the floor.
"I-I see…then j-just let me get something f-for you to wear." Steven heads over to his room, assisting Helena with her situation.
Helena blushed redder than ever, she never had been naked in another's Home; let alone her Boyfriend's Home. She had texted N and her Mentor that she was at a Friend's House due to the downpour outside.
They understand, about to tell Helena to take shelter.
The young Woman saw that Steven had given her his spare Pajamas for the time being. Their clothing was in the dryer being dried, "H-Here you go…it's big for you, but it's the smallest pair I got on me…" Steven said,
"T-Thank you, Steven," Helena said, quickly entering the bathroom once more and getting dressed in the clothes Steven got for her.
Helena exited the bathroom, returning to Steven's bedroom where she spotted him on the bed checking his Rotom Phone. "Steven?" She called out to him,
Steven paused before turning to his Girlfriend, the clothes he gave her were baggy, but it does make her cute. "Hey, are they comfortable? I'm sorry it's not-"
"No, no, it's fine, Steven." Helena blushed, watching Steven move into a sitting position.
"Well, it looks like it's going to rain all night tonight," Steven explains, checking the Weather App. "I'll prepare the second bedroom-is there something wrong? Your face is red,"
Helena shook her head, "I-I'm just not used to um….staying over your place. Sinnoh was alright because N was there and you too, but…"
Steven understood what Helena was saying, "Y-Yeah, same as me. I…I never really brought someone Home like this before." He said, scratching the back of his head. "I-I'll go and prepare the second room for you to sleep in."
"Oh, allow me to help-" Helena offered to help him in setting her room when her foot stepped on the baggy pants.
The Champion saw Helena was about to fall, sitting up to catch it when both of them fell on his bed.
Steven groans, opening his eyes only to see that Helena is in his arms. Her eyes widened with embarrassment at what she did. "I-I'm sorry, I just tripped over…and…."
"I-It's alright, I know you didn't do this on purpose," Steven said, knowing she wouldn't do a thing to him. "T-To be totally honest here, this kinda feels nice; having you in my arms like this."
Helena blushed, but she could share the same feeling as Steven. They did get close to each other, but this position is all too new to her and yet comforting. "Hmm…" She looks into Steven's blue eyes as he looks into her emerald-green eyes.
"S-Steven…" Helena spoke softly, couldn't take her eyes off of him.
"Yes, Ellie?" Steven asked, looking up at his Girlfriend, still holding her in his arms.
Helena closes her eyes and leans in, kissing him on the lips.
Steven accepted the kiss, closing his eyes, and rolled over so she could be beside him. "I-I know we shouldn't do this yet…but-" He breathes out, admitting what they were doing however he couldn't stop.
Helena knew what he meant but he kissed him anyway. Both of their bodies felt hot resulting in them doing the deed throughout the night. Two small sprites met, one a light blue color and the other pink, forming into one singular sprite.
The next morning, Helena was the first to wake up. She looks around, still in Steven's bedroom in his blankets. Helena turned to the window, seeing it was already morning,
Her eyes then caught a glimpse of the clothes Steven lent her yesterday. She placed her hand on her head, realizing what they'd done last night. "Oh my Arceus…did I really just had…" Helena turns next to her,
Steven was next to her, lying face down on his mattress and face on his pillow, shirtless. Gazing at the floor next to her, she saw his clothes scattered around the carpet.
Helena laid back down, comprehending what just happened. She didn't know what went over her, it happened so quickly and suddenly. She turns to Steven, looking at his sleeping face.
A single strand of his hair fell over his eyelids. Helena processed what just happened, she then smiled, feeling like some weight that's been holding her down had been lifted. She reached over, pushing the strand of hair from Steven's face,
Suddenly, Steven's hand grabbed hers. He moved her hand to his lips, kissing it gently. She saw his eyes open, greeting her with a charming smile. "Good morning, Ellie." He said gently,
"Good morning, Steven," Helena responded naturally,
Steven sat up, scratching his head habitually, and spoke. "That was a good night's sleep, I don't think I ever slept like that before." He said, looking at his Girlfriend feeling refreshed.
Helena nodded, agreeing with Steven on that notion. "Yeah, um…listen, I'm sorry that I step on any boundaries and-"
"Don't be, it's our decision to have sex last night, Ellie," Steven said, saying it's not either one's fault. "We're both Adults with two capable Jobs and have been dating for almost two years now. Being a couple for that long, bound to have its…intimate moments, besides, I think it was great."
Helena smiles, happy that Steven understands. "I think so too, I never really had any intimacy with someone before. This was my first time actually," She gave a little giggle, smiling at the Person she grew closer with.
Steven nodded, pulling the covers away from him. "Same goes with me," He said, getting up from his bed.
"Where are you going, Steven?" Helena asked her Boyfriend, seeing him grabbing his clothes from the ground.
"I'm going to prepare some breakfast," Steven said, putting his boxers and pants on. "What do you like to have, Ellie?" He turns around to the black-haired Girl,
Helena ponders on what she's craving for breakfast. "Some pancakes would be nice," She said, watching the Hoenn Champion walk to the door.
Steven nodded, taking her request. "Okay, I'll go and cook some." He said before looking at her. "Take the time to dress up, I think your clothes were dried last night. I'll set them up after I'm done cooking."
Helena nodded, grateful to Steven for everything. "Thank you, Steven, I appreciate it." She said, seeing him leave his room to do what he said.
Helena quickly picked up the clothes that Steven lent her and got dressed in them. She checks her Rotom Phone, seeing if there were any messages or Phone calls, she missed last night.
There were a few from both N and Roxanne, asking where she was. Most of the texts and calls were from N, wondering if she was alright last night.
Helena texted N back, telling him that she was at Steven's Apartment and took shelter from the rain.
N quickly replied, his text reads.
N: Steven's Apartment? That's good that he offered his Home to stay for the night. Be sure to keep his hands where he can see them, I'll see you back at the Daycare House, Helena.
The young Professor gave a small chuckle, knowing that she couldn't tell her Brother that she and Steven had done the deed last night. "Hahaha…sorry N, seems like you were too late on that." She said to herself before heading to the bathroom to freshen up for the Day.
Leaving Steven's bedroom, he saw that he had his Pokemon and Eevee out and served them Pokemon food. "Good morning, everyone." Helena greeted the Pokemon.
They all looked up, seeing the black-haired Girl walking to the table. Each Pokemon greeted Helena before returning to eating their food.
Steven walks to the table, placing some pancakes for Helena in front of her. "Here you go, I took the liberty to add some chocolate chips into the pancakes." The Champion informed the Profess, knowing that she has a chocolate addiction.
"You know me so well, Steven. Thank you." Helena smiles, seeing Steven sitting before sitting in front of her with his serving.
The two gave thanks for the food before digging in themselves, "Any plans today on your schedule, Ellie?" Steven asked his Girlfriend.
Helena pondered on what she needed to do today. "I have classes to teach in the morning, and continue repairs on the old Daycare House for our Laboratory." The black-haired trainer informed her Boyfriend. "What about you, Steven? Any plans you have today?"
Steven smiles, swallowing his food. "Well, I'm going to help my Father at the Devon Corporation and look over some documents Chairwoman Blanche will send via email later." The Champion of their Region explains. "I guess we're busy today, eh?" He smiles.
"I guess we are," Helena smiles, continuing to talk about little things before they leave the Apartment for work.
