Ch 87 Another New Chapter in Life
Helena and Steven walked out of the Dewford Town's Doctor's Office. Both of them were stunned and silent after what the Doctor said.
They would never expect that their first time would lead to this situation.
Helena slowly followed Steven down the street, having a lot in her mind. 'Me? Pregnant? No, this can't be right…I mean, we did it once, and there's only one in a million chance to get pregnant.' She ponders to herself,
'But this is possibly the worst scenario to happen. I can't be pregnant,' Helena thought, running the outcomes that could happen in the Future. 'If I am pregnant then when the time comes for me to go back, Dumbledore might use my Baby against me or Voldemort might too.'
The young Professor shook her head, not wanting to think about the negative side of this. 'No, what am I saying? I will not let my Child be a tool for their games.' She swore to herself, 'I swear to Arceus that they'll not be used for anything malicious.' She then looks at Steven, seeing his expression emotionless from the news.
Helena didn't like the face his Boyfriend was making. Maybe because she pushed him into having sex that night, he was hesitant then and unsure about it. 'His face is hard to read, maybe he'll break up with me because of this.' She thought, curious about what he was thinking.
Steven walked beside Helena, his mind was deep in thought about this. From his perspective, he's panicking.
'Shit, did I really get Ellie pregnant!? I thought I used protection!?' Steven mentally scolded himself for making a mistake. 'How can one night of sex lead Ellie pregnant? She must hate me now that I ruined her chances in her career!' He said to himself mentally.
Steven's eyes shift to Helena, now thinking about what the others might think about this. 'Mother and Father would be disappointed in him first, but they'll come around.' He thought about how his Family would react but for Helena. 'Professor Ceder would be the same as my Parents, but if N finds out about this…Arceus…I'm dead…'
The Hoenn Champion's face paled at the thought of N finding out about Helena's pregnancy.
The two eventually sat down on a bench, still not talking about what happened. Both Helena and Steven didn't speak, they did want to say something to each other but couldn't find the words.
'Come on, Steven. Say something, Helena might get the wrong idea if you're being quiet like this.' Steven said to himself, trying to say something to his Girlfriend.
'Alright Helena, just say something to him. Just say, I'm sorry about this and we'll figure things out right?' Helena mentally said, ''This was your fault for pushing him to have sex with you and…no, no more thinking about this. It's no or never,'
The Couple turns to each other, their eyes closed not wanting to see each other's angry faces.
"I'm sorry!" They both apologize to each other before opening their eyes, not expecting the other response.
Steven's eyes soften, looking at his Girlfriend confused by her response. "Helena, why are you sorry? I should be the one who's sorry since I got you pregnant." He stated, turning his head from her. "I have forgotten to use protection during our time together."
Helena shook her head, holding Steven's hand on his lap. "But I'm the one who forced you to do it, it's my fault." She said, feeling emotional all of a sudden.
The Hoenn Champion began to panic, seeing Helena crying before him. He knew Helena was experiencing mood swings due to her pregnancy. "H-Hey, Helena, don't cry. I'm not mad at you, I'm just mad at myself for making you suffer like this…"
Helena calms down before speaking, "N-No, don't be mad at yourself, Steven." She sniffs, calming down from the sudden mood swing. "To be honest, I'm not mad that I'm pregnant. In fact, I'm overjoyed because I always wanted to be a Mother, but I didn't expect to be one so soon." She said, placing her hand on her abdomen.
"But I'm just scared for what will happen in the Future," Helena said, feeling anxious about what Arceus said before coming to her new Home.
"Why are you scared, Ellie?" Steven asked,
Helena was about to tell Steven the truth about how she came here, however like second nature she told a different reason. "I didn't really know how to be a Mom," She said, cursing herself for not telling him the truth. "I haven't told you the whole truth about me, Steven."
Steven stares at Helena, hearing what she has to say. "When I was younger, my Parents were killed by a Mad Man which you know." Steven nodded, getting that bit down. "However, my Godfather was supposed to take custody of me but the…authorities believe that it was him who did the crime."
The Steel-blue haired Champion nodded; he didn't know that part of Helena. He continues to listen to Helena continuing to speak. "I was instead sent to my relatives on my Mother's side, and they weren't exactly the best when it comes to Childcare…" She said, sugaring up the treatment she received from her Aunt and Uncle.
"So that's why you were invested with Paulo," Steven heard from Helena working with from her.
"That's right, after finding out he's been neglected by his Father. I can't help but sympathize with him," Helena said, returning to their previous conversation. "I just feel like I don't have the capability to be a Mother or how to be one."
Steven pulled Helena into a hug, seeing it was the only thing he could do for her. "You do have the capabilities of a Mother, Ellie." He said, knowing she could do it. "You've taken care of your Students in the School, you have taken in N as your Brother, and you have personally counseled that Student of yours with tenderness." He listed the qualities of what he believes a Mother should act, just like his.
"I felt the same way when the Doctor said that you were pregnant," Steven admits, feeling like he wasn't ready to be a Father. "I know next to nothing about being a Father. The thought of it makes me scared," He chuckles, scratching the back of his head,
Helena moved back a bit, smiling at her Boyfriend who was also nervous about their situation. "Well, whatever happens, we'll do it together, right?" She asked Steven,
Steven smiles, agreeing with the black-haired Professor. "Of course, after all…" He places his hand on Helena's abdomen, "You're carrying our Child,"
The two got up, deciding to head to Granite Cave since it was the reason why they came. They walked through the small forest on the Island to the Cave,
Now that Helena was pregnant, and both accepted the fact they were having a Baby. Steven kept a dutiful eye on her for any symptoms Helena might be experiencing, like pains or needing to throw up.
While they were heading to Granite Cave, the two talked some more. However, this time was about their unborn Child. "Ellie, any ideas on the gender our Baby might be?" Steven asked, having thoughts on names already.
"Steven, I'm only a Month in. The gender won't come to us until a few Months later." Helena giggles, seeing Steven is excited about their baby.
"I know, but it might help later when the time comes when the gender can be revealed." The Steel-blue haired Man said; he was really excited about their Child.
Helena smiles, deciding to humor him. To be honest she was already thinking of Names in the back of her mind. "What do you have so far, Steven?" She asked, curious about what he had in mind.
Steven ponders, thinking of the Names to give to their Child. "If it's a Boy I was thinking Cole or Zackary, for a Girl…Liliana, Lily for short." The Hoenn Champion told Helena the Names he came up with. "How about you-" He paused seeing Helena starting to tear up.
"E-Ellie, if don't like the Names I can always-"
"No, I like them a lot, especially Zackary if it's a Boy. The Girl's Name, well it happens to be my Mother's Name as well." Helena smiles, blaming the hormones for her tearing up.
The Steel-blue haired Champion smiles, knowing they already have chosen a Name if the Child was a Girl. "Then we should Name the Baby Liliana if it's a Girl," Steven said, seeing Helena nod in agreement.
"Ellie, what are your Names for our Child?" Steven asked his Girlfriend, curious what Names she had in mind.
Helena smiles, answering Steven's question. "I was thinking that we could use our Parents' Names for the Middle Name for our Child." She shared her idea to Steven,
Steven liked the idea Helena gave, "That's a great idea, I'm sure both Mother and Father would agree to it." He said as Helena continued with her ideas.
The young Professor smiles, happy to hear her Boyfriend agrees with her. Helena then continues to share what Names she came up with for their Child. "For the Names, I always like the Names Aiden, River, and Nicola. I want our Child's Name to be unique, just like him/her."
"And they will be, Ellie." Steven held her hand, getting close to their destination. "Though, now that you mention about uniqueness. Will he/she inherit some Abilities just like you and N?" He asked, not sure what Children born from Ability Users are like.
Steven does make a good point, but Helena ponders after he asks that question. Wizards and Witches born from Pureblood Families would definitely gain Magic with the rare chance of Squibs being born too. Even the union of a Muggle-Born and a Pureblood has chances of Infants with Magical properties.
However, she was in a different World where the laws of Magical Physics differed. "I'm not too sure, I haven't thought about it that much," Helena answers the question. "We have to ask someone who's experienced with this sort of thing."
"I see," Steven understands what his Girlfriend's trying to say. He shook his head, deciding to let Fate decide if their Child might be an Ability User or not. "Whether the case is our Child is an Ability User or not, it won't change that I'll love them either way." He said, leaning to kiss Helena.
Helena leans in to return the kiss, however, something else comes to mind. "Steven, how are we going to break the news to your Parents, Professor Ceder, and N?" She asked.
"You know what I said about my Parents, Helena. Though, Professor Ceder will be fine too, but N…" Steven looks at Helena, nervous about telling her Brother. "Um…can you be with me when I tell him?" He asked, knowing how he'd react.
Helena smiles, practically knowing her Brother. "Of course, N will most likely be happy about this news," She stated,
Steven gave a nervous chuckle, "Y-Yeah…happy…heh…" He gulps, seeing Helena is still dense with his and N's relationship.
Back in Rustboro City, N sneezes away from the young trainers and their Pokemon. "Um…Mr. Potter, are you alright?" A young trainer asked the Daycare Attendant,
The green-haired trainer turns to the group of Students and their Pokemon. "Oh, I'm fine. I think somebody's talking about me." N said, assuming it was Helena before returning to his duties as Attendant.
Soon enough, both Helena and Steven arrived at Granite Cave. The Cave was set on a small rocky hill, and its entrance was easy to find.
Steven turns to Helena, taking out one of his Pokeballs. "Help us out, Claydol!" He tosses his Pokeball in the air, releasing the Ground/Psychic-type.
"Clay," Claydol floated next to both Steven and Helena,
The black-haired Professor smiles, happy to see the Clay Doll Pokemon after so long. "Hello again Claydol, it's been a while since I've seen you." Helena greeted, reaching out to pet him.
Claydol allowed his trainer's Girlfriend to pet him. "Clay,"
Steven looks at his Pokemon, having a favor for him to do. "Claydol, if you don't mind. Can you guide us inside Granite Cave?" He asked his Pokemon.
Claydol obliges, using Flash to light the way within the dark Cave, "Clay." He went inside first, leading both his Partner and Helena into the Cave.
Entering the Cave, Steven made sure that Helena was close to him. He held her hand, ensuring that she wouldn't get lost.
Looking away from Claydol for a moment, Steven saw Helena looking at the Rock, Ground-type Pokemon living in Granite Cave.
"Ellie, how are you holding up?" Steven asked, wanting to know how she was doing.
Helena looks at her Boyfriend, smiling in response to his question. "I'm doing just fine, Steven. No pregnancy symptoms so far." She informed him, "I can still keep going."
Steven accepted Helena's answer. "Tell me whenever you're feeling something," He offered, not wanting Helena to be in any sort of pain.
"Thank you, Steven. But I'm fine, now let's get to exploring Granite Cave." Helena moves forward a bit quickly, now taking Steven in both hands, and explores the Cave.
The two look around the Cave, seeing many things inside the Cave has to offer. As the name suggests, granite can be found at any step they take and Pokemon live there too.
Eventually, Claydol stopped, turning to a small corridor with a crack. "Clay." The Clay Doll Pokemon floated over to the corridor, searching for something.
"Hmm? Where is Claydol going?" Helena looks at Steven's Pokemon, searching the walls.
Steven followed his Pokemon, curious what is he doing. "Claydol, is there something here that caught your attention?" The Champion asked the Duel-type.
"Clay," Claydol searches the wall before spotting a crack in the Wall.
Helena stood next to Steven, seeing Claydol backing up. Her eyes widened, realizing what he was going to do.
"Helena!" Steven held onto Helena as Claydol began to attack the wall with Hyper Beam.
Steven gazes up, seeing what Claydol has uncovered before realizing Helena is on the ground. He stood up, assisting Helena to her feet. "Helena, are you alright?" He asked, after assisting her.
Helena nodded, responding to Steven's question. "Yes I am, the Baby is too." She then turns to where Claydol attacks the Cave wall. "Um, Steven…I think Claydol has found something…" She looks at where Claydol is entering.
"Yes…I know," Steven and Helena walk into a new chamber where Claydol enters. "I think he just uncovered something interesting…" He said, gazing at their Discovery.
Helena and Steven took a few moments to study the new Chamber in Granite Cave. The Chamber houses something interesting for the two, a Mural.
A Mural depicting two familiar Pokemon, one on Land and the other coming out from the Ocean. Helena took some pictures of the Mural, studying it later. "I can't believe this. A simple spelunking Date could lead to us discovering an old Mural depicting Ancient times." She commented, taking some more Photos at different angles.
"Yeah, this is something that Professor Ceder and probably Professor Birch might like to hear," Steven said, standing back to get a better understanding of the Mural. Floating beside him was the Pokemon who was responsible for making this discovery.
"Claydol, I'm not sure if you know about this or not. But thank you anyway," Steven said, appreciating his Pokemon for doing this.
Helena came next to her Boyfriend, looking at the Mural. "What do you make of this, Steven?" She asked him, curious what his thoughts were.
Steven looks up, studying the Mural before them. "Not too sure, but I have some theories based on the two Pokemon on the Mural. It must be about the two Legendary Pokemon, Groudon and Kyogre but…"
"You see it too, huh?" Helena said, looking back at the Mural with Steven. "It's those Symbols on Groudon's arm and Kyogre's fin. I'm not sure what it is, but I can't help but think it's something important…"
Steven couldn't agree more with Helena, something about the Mural is off-putting. Now that he has a good look at the Mural, he remembers seeing this Mural before. "Ah, now that I look at it more, this Mural reminds me of the one we saw at Sootoplis City Museum." He said, reminding Helena where they have seen this before.
The young Professor's eyes widen, realizing what Steven said was true. "You're right this Mural looks a lot like the one in Sootoplis City with minor differences," Helena said, now invested in uncovering the mystery between the two Murals. "Well, seems like I got my work cut out for me with this Mural."
"Don't think you're doing this alone, Professor Potter." Steven leans in, purring into her ears. "I'll help too, this Mural has piqued my interest and it'll be fun doing this together as Partners. Right, Claydol?" He looks at his Duel-type Pokemon.
"Clay," Claydol nodded, agreeing with his trainer on that notion.
Helena accepted the assist from her Boyfriend, "I appreciate it, Steven." She said to him, excited to be working with him.
Soon enough, both Steven and Helena made their way to the exit of Granite Cave. Upon exiting, they noticed that the Sun was setting on the horizon. "Sunset already? We've spent a bit longer than we thought." Helena commented,
Steven nodded, seeing they had an hour before the Boat he rented leaves. "We got an hour left before the Boat leaves." He turns around, calling back Claydol floating beside them. "Thanks again for guiding our way Claydol," He said to his Pokemon.
"Clay," Claydol nodded as a red beam from the Pokeball called him back.
Once Claydol is inside his Pokeball, Steven turns to Helena who has another idea. "Since we got an hour until we have to go, we didn't visit Brawly's Gym," Helena suggested to the Champion. "I heard that he converted the Gym into a Workout Gym as a way to train both People and Pokemon."
Steven thought that was a great idea, "Sounds good to me," He said, both of them took each other's hand and walked back to Town. "Say, how do we tell our Friends about our bun in the oven?" He asked his Girlfriend,
"I might have a few ideas in mind…" Helena smirks, thinking of all sorts of things to tell their Friends about their pregnancy.
