Tony awoke after noon. He covered his eyes from the sunlight at the sudden headache, he had a horrific hangover. "Jarvis." He yelled, "Coffee!"

Somehow, he crawled out of bed and made his way to the kitchen. he grabbed the steaming pot of coffee and poured it directly in his mouth. He sat down on one of the barstools and yawned.

"Jarvis, remind me to stop drinking before midnight." He grumbled. His memories of the previous night were blurry, which was probably good because he didn't want to remember the latest woman he'd messed with. He grimaced, he was setting a terrible example for his daughter.

He looked around, half expecting Annabeth to pop up and pout. The girl didn't throw fits, but she was always grumpy after a long night at a boring Stark Industries party.

He looked at the clock, it was a Saturday, so she was probably at gymnastics, he bet Pepper had come by earlier to get her.

Suddenly, his pocket buzzed. Tony groaned as he fished it out and answered it. "Hey Pepper…"

"Tony! I've been calling for hours! Happy told me that you never took Annabeth home last night!" She shrieked.

Tony blinked, "What?" he asked.

"Annabeth! Is she at the manor?" She asked, trying to control her panic.

"JARVIS!" Tony yelled.

"Miss Stark is not on the premises. Nor has she been since five thirty yesterday." Jarvis informed them. Tony cursed his AI for not immediately alerting him, but he knew he couldn't blame Jarvis. Jarvis was still in development and was bound to make mistakes.

"Tony! This is serious, she could be hurt or worse!" Pepper was flow blown panicking and it was making his hangover worse.

"I'm calling Rhoedy." Tony murmured.

It was a long, long, long morning. Tony spent hours on the phone with the police and lawyers and Pepper, at the end of it he was panicked and exhausted. But he refused to take a break, his precious daughter was missing, and it was his fault.

Annabeth loved Thalia. The ten year old daughter of Zeus was kind and immediately became like her big sister. Luke was something else though. Her feelings for him were different.

At the moment, the three were in a gas station, trying to sneak out food. Thalia was a pro at shoplifting, but Annabeth was nee to it and didn't get it.

As they exited the store, a man glanced at her and his eyes narrowed, suddenly he yelled, "Stop, thief!" Annabeth bolted after Thalia and Luke.

Somehow they got away, Annabeth missed her father. She wanted everything to be okay. When they stopped running, Thalia turned to her. "You okay?"

Annabeth's eyes widened. Thalia wasn't angry. Back home, people always got mad at her for messing up. "Yeah." Annabeth whispered.

Thalia grinned, "That was good."

Annabeth beamed, she wasn't used to praise. In that moment she forgot about her heartsickness and promised herself to stick with Luke and Thalia, no matter what.

Tony set out a billion dollar reward for information regarding his daughter. He vowed to find her and images of the wreck of a man plastered news covers. However, there was no sign of her. It was like Annabeth Marie Stark had vanished into thin air, but it was actually due to Thalia's skill in mist manipulation.

A week passed. Tony hadn't stopped working to find her and he was beginning to worry Pepper. He wouldn't eat, sleep, or do anything but search for a sign of her.

"Mr. Stark?" She called, entering the trashed lab of the Malibu manor.

He ignored her, staring intently at some New York police cameras.

Pepper's heart broke seeing him there. She used to hate him, for being neglectful, for being irresponsible, but she couldn't see that side of him anymore. He genuinely loved his daughter, and it was devastating.

Making their way north to Camp Half-Blood was harder than it should've been. Monsters consistently attacked and they were getting more dangerouS. Just a few hours before, a reanimated corpse was chasing them through Jersey, Annabeth broke her wrist getting away.

The three were hiding in the alley and Thalia was wrapping her wrist. Luke was pacing with an upset expression, finally he paused.

"What is it?" Thalia asked.

"I know where we can hide out for a bit." His voice was hesitant, nervous, Annabeth wondered why.

"Where?" She asked.

Luke looked away, "My mother's home."

It had been two months since Annabeth Stark vanished. Across the nation, people gossiped and wondered what had happened. At this point, most people assumed it was a terrorist kidnapping her for leverage. But when no ransom demand arrived, the case started to die down. Most kidnapped children are never recovered, even the daughters of powerful businessman.

"Tony please!" Pepper pleaded. She had been arguing with him for the last hour, trying to get him to stop hiding.

The world needed Tony Stark. She needed him. Annabeth needed him.

Tony glared at her. "My daughter is dead. If they didn't send a ransom, it was an assassination. We know what it means. I don't care."

"Yes you do." Pepper whispered softly. SHIELD had been over earlier to talk to them, if they couldn't find her, no one could.

"Annabeth is dead. My sweet daughter is dead!" He slammed his fist down on the desk.

Pepper tried not to cry. "She might be," She broke off. She couldn't lie to herself. Two months of searching with all of their resources and nothing. She glanced at the date and felt her heart drop. She knew why Tony was a wreck. It was her seventh birthday.
